- 1:18>> [music]
- 1:37>> Welcome to the descent. Who wants to do
- 1:40the recap?
- 1:42>> I can do this one.
- 1:43>> All right.
- 1:46H. Dear Faria Jinx, not sure if this
- 1:50letter will ever make it to you, or at
- 1:51least the version of you that I
- 1:53remember. Even now, the finer details of
- 1:55your face that I so infatuatingly
- 1:57memorized all those 10day ago begin to
- 1:59fade into periphery [music] like the
- 2:00sands of time, like the sands of a
- 2:02Verus. Even I am likely a shadow of the
- 2:05man that left you in Eltero. This place
- 2:08has a way of changing you, forcing you
- 2:10into horrible scenarios, making
- 2:12unwinable decisions. Speaking of which,
- 2:15I saved the day yesterday. [music] In
- 2:17the face of our most instrumental foe
- 2:19yet, I rose to the occasion when others
- 2:21could not. I managed to procure us a
- 2:24barge and we took it across the river
- 2:25sticks. We have a course charted for the
- 2:28crypt of the crusaders. We were boarded
- 2:31by a Zariel's search party. It seems our
- 2:34prying around in Lulu's memories has not
- 2:36gone unnoticed, but with enough
- 2:38deception, we managed to pass through
- 2:40without conflict. We found a spot to
- 2:42take a long rest and I finally told the
- 2:44party about a dream I had. A dream so
- 2:46caporeal in nature that I woke up with a
- 2:48vial of immense power in my hand.
- 2:50[music] This dream felt like a call to
- 2:52arms, a beckoning towards a fate I've so
- 2:55desperately sought my whole life. This
- 2:57dream, a promise that Django and I are
- 3:00destined for something more, something
- 3:02great. [music]
- 3:03The others are apprehensive at worst
- 3:06because they're jealous of the power
- 3:07that I may one day obtain through this
- 3:09dream. finally evolving from the weakest
- 3:11link to a force to be reckoned with. And
- 3:13at the best, they're two steps ahead of
- 3:15some sinister devil's trick and looking
- 3:18out for me under some misguided parental
- 3:20instinct. Interpretations like these
- 3:22blend together so deviously in a
- 3:24verurnest, like two sides of the same
- 3:25blade. I'll heed their warning for now.
- 3:29We also sat down to finally piece
- 3:31together Zariel's timeline. We think we
- 3:33have a good sense of her rise and fall.
- 3:35What brought her here? How she met Lulu
- 3:37and the Hell Riders? But there's still
- 3:39some missing pieces to this puzzle.
- 3:41Perhaps the crypt holds the next
- 3:43answers. Be well. London Rose.
- 3:47Very good. Uh, take it. Inspiration for
- 3:49that one.
- 3:51As we
- 3:53get the descent on screen and the war
- 3:56machine drives past it. You guys took a
- 4:00long rest last week.
- 4:02uh had a session. You have already woke
- 4:04up in the morning and
- 4:07you are beginning your day of travel. I
- 4:09will say
- 4:14since Gunnar isn't here, I will but he
- 4:18will be the [music] one that notices
- 4:20this. I'm going to like push it off to
- 4:22Vin. But Gunner when he starts driving
- 4:25for the day, he kind of looks back to
- 4:28[music] Vin and he'll say something
- 4:29like, "Did you
- 4:32Did you fix the steering wheel?
- 4:44You're muted.
- 4:49>> So, there's something wrong with the
- 4:52steering wheel. And like
- 4:53>> you didn't even know there was something
- 4:55wrong with the steering wheel.
- 4:56>> Yeah. Well, the last time she used it,
- 4:59uh, it was fine, right? So,
- 5:02>> yeah. So, that's what she'll say. I
- 5:03mean, it's working fine. Last time I
- 5:06used it,
- 5:08>> he'll say that for the past couple of
- 5:09days, it's been kind of sticky and now
- 5:12it runs really [music] smooth. You
- 5:14didn't fix that last night. It was like
- 5:16this. It was like that yesterday and
- 5:18this [music] morning it's fine.
- 5:21>> Oh, no. I don't remember any stickiness
- 5:24when I was using it. I mean, you've been
- 5:25at it for a few days now, so
- 5:30That's That's really weird.
- 5:33>> He just puts it off, I guess.
- 5:36Uh, you guys can continue your journey.
- 5:38Where are we going?
- 5:42>> Uh, we had a charge.
- 5:43>> Can we see the map?
- 5:44>> Yep. Yep. Doing that now. Sorry.
- 5:50>> Going up and around Craven Hill.
- 5:51>> Yeah. How many How many hexes you get in
- 5:53a day?
- 5:55>> Three. Three.
- 5:56>> Two. Sorry. [music]
- 5:56>> Two in a day. Okay.
- 6:01All right. So, to Well, let's see what
- 6:03the weather's like.
- 6:06>> Yeah.
- 6:09>> Whoever orange is. I think that's what
- 6:10we
- 6:11>> Oh, no. This is super hot.
- 6:14It's super [music] hot today.
- 6:18I think that doesn't affect you anymore,
- 6:19though.
- 6:22Ah. Um,
- 6:30it's kind of a weird.
- 6:39Uh, [music] who has metal armor on?
- 6:41Everybody. A lot of people.
- 6:43>> Everyone does. Yeah.
- 6:45>> Uh, everybody [music] make con saves for
- 6:47me.
- 6:49>> Is serpent scale metal?
- 6:52No.
- 6:57>> Or is it natural one?
- 7:00>> Nice.
- 7:01>> Hold up.
- 7:03>> No, I suppose it might be 16.
- 7:08>> Uh, okay. So, Hilia and Tannis,
- 7:13all of you are in this heat and [music]
- 7:14it starts to make your armor give a
- 7:17little bit of that like shimmering in
- 7:19the heat kind of thing like you are
- 7:21turning into a frying pan. Um, [music]
- 7:24and the armor is cooking you.
- 7:27Uh,
- 7:28it's a weird thing that it that I have
- 7:31here
- 7:37trying to like I got to figure out how
- 7:38to
- 7:41I'm just going to give you a level of
- 7:43exhaustion.
- 7:45This would be the minus level of
- 7:48exhaustion. The minus one to all your
- 7:51rolls and stuff.
- 7:56a 2024 level of [music] exhaustion.
- 7:58That's what we'll do.
- 8:00>> Minus two on the five speed penalty.
- 8:04>> There you go.
- 8:04>> All right.
- 8:05>> Oh, minus. Oh, [music] right. Minus two.
- 8:07>> Does fire resistance give them advantage
- 8:08at all or
- 8:10>> Yes.
- 8:12>> Oh,
- 8:13>> I have fire resistance. [music]
- 8:14>> Let me get it. Let me get them.
- 8:19>> Well,
- 8:20>> needed to beat it.
- 8:22>> Nice.
- 8:22>> You both are fine. There we go. God. Um,
- 8:26as it's just just it's called [music]
- 8:28blistering heat as as opposed to the
- 8:30usual sweltering.
- 8:33Um, okay. So, that's the weather. Move
- 8:36into this [music] hex.
- 8:44It cools off in the afternoon.
- 8:49Not so bad.
- 8:51Um,
- 8:53and there is no encounter. So, you can
- 8:55make it to that hex is the next one you
- 8:57were going to.
- 9:00Yep. Okay.
- 9:02Let me [music] see here.
- 9:10Yep.
- 9:12You make it to that hex.
- 9:14Oh, let me see if that What is that?
- 9:17[music] G 14 13
- 9:26>> 13 G3
- 9:28>> Yep, you're good.
- 9:33>> Look for a spot to long rest.
- 9:36>> Mhm.
- 9:38>> With the aid of the uh GPS, you can find
- 9:42a a nice place to rest for the night.
- 9:45No, no issues.
- 9:53I can take uh first watch if we need.
- 9:59>> Uh I'll grab second.
- 10:04>> We'll wait for Will to [music] come back
- 10:06because I think he'll have something to
- 10:07say about that.
- 10:13>> Tannis already asleep. Okay,
- 10:16>> I will say you do notice and this has
- 10:20been [music] happening
- 10:22since you have owned the war machine
- 10:25that the driver side door
- 10:28um actually it's ever since one of the
- 10:31blood hounds ripped the [music] door
- 10:32open and threw gunner out of the
- 10:34driver's seat uh during one of the first
- 10:36Doom run you guys were in.
- 10:39The door like sticks when you try to go
- 10:42to open it. It's like hard to push open.
- 10:46It's always been like that since ever
- 10:49since [music] that first Doom Run.
- 10:54Gunner has to kick it to get out.
- 10:59What do you think, Ben? Worth trying to
- 11:00patch up?
- 11:05Has been getting on my nerves lately.
- 11:09If we got some time, I don't see why
- 11:11not. If we're not trying to burn the
- 11:14[music] midnight soul coins, then
- 11:17we'll do that.
- 11:26All right. So, we're doing W. Did we
- 11:28want [music] to do watches? Is that what
- 11:29we were going to do?
- 11:30>> Well, yes. So, I guess we could do
- 11:32watches and Ben could like try to tool
- 11:33around with that door.
- 11:34>> Yeah. You want to mess with it, Vin? Go
- 11:36give me a mechanics tools check. Listen,
- 11:38I'll I'll make rolls if it could
- 11:40potentially help something out. Um,
- 11:46let's see. Was it Tinker you said?
- 11:48>> Yeah, I'll do Tinker.
- 11:51>> 27.
- 11:52>> Yep. You You fix it.
- 11:55>> You fix it. It's fine.
- 11:58>> Who knows? Maybe there will be a dire
- 12:00situation where that [music] will
- 12:01actually matter. We'll see. [laughter]
- 12:03He's got to like tumble out of the door
- 12:04or something.
- 12:10We need a stealthy exit. We don't have
- 12:12to [ __ ] kick that thing open anymore.
- 12:14>> Yeah.
- 12:19>> Um [cough and clears throat]
- 12:20Tannis, did you have something you
- 12:21wanted to tell the party?
- 12:24>> I wanted to do something else [music]
- 12:26first.
- 12:26>> That's okay.
- 12:28>> Yeah. Um I wanted to go uh into the
- 12:32amulet.
- 12:33>> Sure.
- 12:34>> Myself.
- 12:35>> Yep. You can go in. While everybody's
- 12:36getting ready for watch or getting ready
- 12:38for rest and Vin uh you know fixing the
- 12:42door, you can go into your amulet.
- 12:45>> All right, I'll go in there and
- 12:50I'm going to do the summon uh summon the
- 12:54star uh spell.
- 12:55>> Okay. Um, you be you begin to sort of
- 13:00call upon
- 13:03this the energy within [music] the
- 13:06amulet, right? And there is a side door
- 13:08and it just opens and peaks his head
- 13:11out.
- 13:16>> You uh busy in there?
- 13:20>> Uh, not at the moment. No.
- 13:23>> Good. I want to talk to you. Of course,
- 13:27my friend. What can I do for you? And he
- 13:30sheepishly
- 13:32floats cuz he has like a tornado tail.
- 13:34Floats into the chamber.
- 13:37>> Yeah. So, I'll go I'll go over to like
- 13:39the middle table that's in the like the
- 13:41low table that's uh got the incense
- 13:43burners on it and I'll just pull out the
- 13:46devil's flask and like I don't know like
- 13:48I'm assuming there's probably like some
- 13:49cups or something glasses
- 13:52>> and just like pour out uh some of the
- 13:55ale. Sure.
- 13:56>> Out for two glasses and just like put
- 13:58one on in front of him and one in front
- 14:00of Tannis.
- 14:01>> He will take it.
- 14:03>> I don't know if you drink or not, but
- 14:07>> of course, but uh could uh and he'll
- 14:10take his uh his finger and tap on the
- 14:13side of the glass and tap on the side of
- 14:16your glass and both of them turn into
- 14:19elegant wine.
- 14:24You
- 14:26have that? You know, I'm going to gloss.
- 14:28I'm gonna come back to [laughter] this.
- 14:29>> Oh boy, does he have that power. Yep.
- 14:32>> Wow. Tannis wishes he would have
- 14:33[laughter] made amends 10 days ago.
- 14:35Okay. Um
- 14:37>> he can make food, too. [laughter] Really
- 14:39good food.
- 14:42>> We'll we'll we'll hash this one out
- 14:44later. Uh he'll just like he'll take the
- 14:46glass and he'll just be like,
- 14:50"My father,
- 14:52I never knew him that well. I have bits
- 14:55and pieces. Memories mostly fragmented,
- 14:58lost [music] to time.
- 15:01What can you tell me about him?
- 15:04Anything? Just something.
- 15:09He gets uh somber for a moment.
- 15:12He was a good man.
- 15:15I have met many people uh both king and
- 15:19merchant in my lifetime.
- 15:24and he was one of the best among them.
- 15:31He cared very much for his family.
- 15:39I remember he used to [music]
- 15:42whenever he was home, he never
- 15:46ignored us or put us off. Never too busy
- 15:49to spend a moment with us. And you're
- 15:52right, he was a good man
- 15:56and he respected you, trusted you, and
- 15:59despite [music] how I feel about you,
- 16:01sometimes I'd be a fool to not trust you
- 16:04as well.
- 16:07I've thought about everything that's
- 16:09come down about this amulet.
- 16:13At first, I blamed you for his death
- 16:14after you told me what happened. But I
- 16:17came to realize that my father always
- 16:19taught me to [music] never run from a
- 16:21fight, even if it was
- 16:24the smart thing
- 16:26that cost him his life.
- 16:30But that's not your fault. He chose
- 16:33that.
- 16:38If Nazim had found me before and he had
- 16:42killed me after you had put this amulet
- 16:44on me without telling me about it, my
- 16:46death would have been on your hands. But
- 16:50I want to I want to ease you of that
- 16:53burden and let you know that I am going
- 16:55to take this amulet and keep it safe
- 16:58with one condition.
- 17:01If Nazim finds me, which he will
- 17:04eventually, as we have learned already,
- 17:07you don't get to flee next time, you'll
- 17:10stand and you'll face your brother like
- 17:12I'm going to have to face mine.
- 17:15You agree to that, then I will take this
- 17:16amulet and protect it with my life as my
- 17:18father did.
- 17:21He will look you dead in your eyes. His
- 17:24eyes, these sort of glowing orbs. Oh, I
- 17:26never showed you guys a handout of him.
- 17:28I will give you guys a handout.
- 17:32of Nisar.
- 17:45Who does he remind? Dude, he looks like
- 17:47somebody like
- 17:50I [ __ ] know him.
- 17:53>> Anyways, he will say he will say
- 18:00You have grown in strength quite a bit,
- 18:03Wadi.
- 18:09I will stand with you when the time has
- 18:11come.
- 18:16I wish to say this to you.
- 18:20A merchant may change caravans a hundred
- 18:23times, but he does not become a
- 18:25different man each time he saddles a
- 18:27camel. Though I admit the camels often
- 18:30disagree. [laughter]
- 18:34What I mean to say is you have accused
- 18:38me of lying waddi
- 18:41and you were right to do so.
- 18:44And for that I am deeply sorry.
- 18:49But there is one thing that I pray you
- 18:51will believe.
- 18:54Mosif Malamadi
- 18:56was never [music] the lie,
- 18:59only the name.
- 19:01The merchant who told stories beside
- 19:03your campfire.
- 19:05The man who worried when you were
- 19:07marching into danger.
- 19:09The friend who was proud to [music] know
- 19:12you.
- 19:14He was always me.
- 19:17It was not a mask, not a performance.
- 19:21It was me.
- 19:25I cannot ask you to trust me, Wadi.
- 19:28Trust is not a coin one earns back by
- 19:31asking politely.
- 19:34It is earned one sunrise at a time.
- 19:39I'll put my hand up at him saying that
- 19:41and be like, "Nar,
- 19:44I understand what you did was to look
- 19:47out for me at the time. I don't agree
- 19:49that it was the best way to do it and it
- 19:52was a lie, but one with my best
- 19:55interest." And like I said, my father
- 19:58trusted you. You don't have to earn my
- 20:01trust. You have it. But that trust will
- 20:05only be held so long as you do not lie
- 20:08to me ever again. We share this burden
- 20:12of this amulet together
- 20:15and we will protect it together. When
- 20:18two camels are tied to the same rope,
- 20:22they may spend the journey glaring at
- 20:24each other,
- 20:26but they must still reach the oasis
- 20:28together.
- 20:31You and I, my friend, are tied to the
- 20:35same rope. I cannot change that. Neither
- 20:38can you.
- 20:48That
- 20:49means that by extension,
- 20:52that same rope carries the rest of
- 20:54second company with it. They will never
- 20:57leave my side. I believe that true.
- 21:04And right now they're stuck out there in
- 21:06the hot suns of a verest while we stay
- 21:09[music] here, drink wine, and enjoy the
- 21:11comforts of this place.
- 21:14You granted me permission to come in
- 21:16here. Can you extend that to them?
- 21:23If I am given [music] the chance to walk
- 21:25beside you,
- 21:28I will give the same to them.
- 21:36Let's give them the comforts that we
- 21:39share now because
- 21:41gods know that any day could be any one
- 21:44of our last. Best thing we can do for
- 21:47them is at least let them get a good
- 21:48night's sleep. Enjoy this. And uh this
- 21:52wine you can just
- 21:55>> Yeah.
- 21:56>> He taps his nose like [music] you just
- 21:58wait.
- 22:04>> All right. Um I'm sure that they're
- 22:07getting ready to bed down in any moment
- 22:09now. So I'll go let them know.
- 22:13Um,
- 22:14I can just leave now and come back. I
- 22:16don't have to just do it like I can do
- 22:18like asking Jay like I can do this just
- 22:20whenever.
- 22:21>> Yeah. For now. For this. For this.
- 22:23>> For this. Yeah. I'm not going to use it,
- 22:24but
- 22:25>> for this. Yeah. Yeah. For sure.
- 22:28>> I'll
- 22:29I'll raise my glass and just finish off
- 22:32the last of the wine.
- 22:34>> It's really [ __ ] good.
- 22:38>> All right. And then I'll I'll pop out of
- 22:40the amulet. Back to second company.
- 22:42Sure.
- 22:47>> Call them over unless anyone's busy
- 22:50doing anything.
- 22:51>> Nope.
- 22:54>> Then you fix the door.
- 22:58>> Very nice.
- 23:02>> Hey, uh
- 23:05I uh I need to talk to you all real
- 23:07quick.
- 23:09Don't worry, it's nothing bad, nothing
- 23:11serious. I think you'll actually enjoy
- 23:13it. Just uh I just spoke with Nasar in
- 23:18my amulet.
- 23:20We have some things to work out, but
- 23:24it just just give me a second and I'll
- 23:28grab the amulet and I'm going to pop us
- 23:29all in there.
- 23:30>> Okay, everyone gets popped inside the
- 23:33amulet. Now, can we get another little
- 23:35description of what the inside of the
- 23:36amulet uh looks like?
- 23:39>> Yeah, so it's a it's a 40ft diameter
- 23:42dome. It's quite spacious. Uh the walls
- 23:46are made of a golden uh marble with the
- 23:49mural of the heavens on there, but as
- 23:52you look at it and if you move around,
- 23:54the murals [music] shift a little bit as
- 23:56if there's almost like translucent
- 23:58marble looking out into the heavens
- 23:59[music] above. Uh low table in the
- 24:02middle with the incense burners and a
- 24:03few cups. Uh rugs and uh pillows in one
- 24:08corner. There's like a big pile of
- 24:09pillows that's clearly Stannis's bed. Uh
- 24:12big gear pile of all the stuff I've
- 24:13accumulated and just throw in here. Uh
- 24:15three water barrels. One of them half's
- 24:17empty. One of them has a sign that says
- 24:19bath water do not drink. Uh, and in
- 24:23another corner there is a darkly stained
- 24:27sheet that is probably where Tannis puts
- 24:30the bodies uh that he gets [laughter]
- 24:32told to put in here uh to keep it away
- 24:35from his actual living space. Um, the
- 24:38air is nice and smells of incense and
- 24:41perfumes. Um,
- 24:43>> the temperature is about 72 degrees
- 24:45Fahrenheit for those who freedom units.
- 24:48Little warm, but that's how Tannis likes
- 24:50it. Um,
- 24:52and it is incredibly comfortable. And
- 24:55around the table, I don't know if is
- 24:56Nasar still in here?
- 24:57>> Yes. So, as you guys enter, uh, just
- 24:59sort of poof in a spoof of smoke. Uh,
- 25:03[music] Nasar Nasar is seated as much as
- 25:06he can be, like his his wispy tail is
- 25:08[music] sort of down a bit [cough]
- 25:11at this low table and he's pouring
- 25:13himself some tea and the table is spread
- 25:16with a feast. There are dates, fresh
- 25:19bread, olives, roasted [music] lamb, and
- 25:22bowls of fragrant rice that cover the
- 25:24table.
- 25:27And he will say, "Ah, my friends,
- 25:29halan."
- 25:31And he will like rise and bow to all of
- 25:33you.
- 25:36Infernal rapture be damned. And London's
- 25:38going to run to the food.
- 25:40>> Come, come. You were just in time for
- 25:42Ifar and Chai.
- 25:46This isn't what I was expecting, Tannis,
- 25:48[music] but it's quite nice.
- 25:51>> Here is what you were expecting.
- 25:56[laughter]
- 25:58>> I wasn't expecting it to smell so good,
- 26:00quite frankly.
- 26:02>> I keep the incense burning um
- 26:06every every day, all day.
- 26:08>> I have cast I have cast a few spells in
- 26:10here just there was a bit of a smell. He
- 26:13may have gotten used to it, but I did
- 26:14not.
- 26:17Well, they have uh abused this
- 26:22uh sanctuary as a morg on multiple
- 26:25occasions, but
- 26:29for the mission. So, sorry about that.
- 26:32>> Please come sit, eat.
- 26:34>> Allow an old merchant the dignity of
- 26:36believing he still knows how to receive
- 26:38guests.
- 26:42>> Is this one of those like kneeling
- 26:43tables? like, "Yeah,
- 26:44>> you saw little shit."
- 26:45>> Mhm.
- 26:47>> Oh, no. He's kneeling. [laughter]
- 26:50>> Nikki's [ __ ] crunch as she.
- 26:56>> How often can we come in here, Tannis?
- 26:59So lovely in here.
- 27:02>> So long as you don't piss me off every
- 27:05night.
- 27:08>> Drive a hard bargain, my friend.
- 27:10>> Yep. And uh Nasar can make dinner just
- 27:13like this every night.
- 27:16>> He has
- 27:16>> That part's new by the way. I was not
- 27:18[music] enjoying this before.
- 27:21>> Okay.
- 27:22>> Full disclosure. [laughter]
- 27:25>> You're telling me I've been carrying
- 27:26around a preserved dunat for no reason.
- 27:33I just literally made amends the star 15
- 27:36minutes ago and he offered this as a
- 27:39gift to us. I wasn't sitting here
- 27:42feasting every night just enjoying the
- 27:45other comforts of this place. The saw
- 27:47rolls his eyes
- 27:49>> just
- 27:49>> very obviously to you guys like uhhuh
- 27:55>> not to
- 27:58bring down the splendor of this place
- 27:59but that is my job. There's a question
- 28:02of security.
- 28:05Um what is stopping
- 28:08somebody from just getting in yama and
- 28:10driving away with us?
- 28:13>> Oh, we can we can hear what's happening
- 28:15outside. If Yama were to be started or
- 28:18someone to approach, we would here.
- 28:20>> You can also
- 28:22enter and leave as you wish.
- 28:28>> Oh, we can.
- 28:29>> I will. He's telling you this now. Nar
- 28:32will tell you that.
- 28:34>> Okay, then one of us is stuck outside
- 28:37while the rest of us get uh get to enjoy
- 28:39this comfort.
- 28:42Well, maybe we'll finally give up get
- 28:44some restful sleep.
- 28:46>> I gave up my feet. That's not me
- 28:48anymore.
- 28:49>> Nasar is like, I it has been so long
- 28:52since I have had guests. He will wave
- 28:54his hand and a doorway will appear uh on
- 28:58the wall like these really ornate wooden
- 29:00doors. Um, this one leads to a bathroom
- 29:04and he will push his hands forward and a
- 29:08indention will be created in the wall
- 29:10like a side chamber will be created in
- 29:12the and there [music] are bunks set up
- 29:17and he will create a third doorway on
- 29:20with a golden sort of shimmering door
- 29:22and push it through. And this [music] is
- 29:24a portal that you can enter and exit out
- 29:26of at will during rests. during rests.
- 29:30So, anyone can leave and re-enter
- 29:33whenever they'd like. All you have to do
- 29:35is touch the amulet when you want to
- 29:36come back in.
- 29:40>> You had a bathroom in here the whole
- 29:42time, Tannis?
- 29:43>> Nope. That's new. That's [ __ ] new.
- 29:46>> So, what have you been using before?
- 29:48[laughter]
- 29:52>> Uh, you've noticed Dan is taking a pot
- 29:54with him out every morning. [laughter]
- 30:00Yeah,
- 30:02>> I I I guess NAR has um
- 30:07been able to create more chambers
- 30:10[music]
- 30:11than I knew about, but
- 30:14I suppose had we spoken earlier, he
- 30:16would have told me about this. I just
- 30:19wasn't quite ready.
- 30:22Joking aside, Tannis [music] Nasar,
- 30:26thank you for letting us stay here.
- 30:31Nar will elbow Tannis and be like, "It
- 30:33is an honor to have guests."
- 30:37>> Yeah, it feel my family.
- 30:42You're not just a guest in this place.
- 30:45You are.
- 30:49If this is my home, it is your home,
- 30:50too. As long as we are stuck here, we
- 30:52can be stuck here together.
- 30:55>> It has been far too quiet around here.
- 30:57Anyways, in [music] Kumshen, they say a
- 30:59happy home is never silent.
- 31:04>> Same goes to you for for you, Tannis. We
- 31:07may bicker and squabble, but what family
- 31:10doesn't?
- 31:12>> Well, my actual brother wants to kill
- 31:14me, so
- 31:18>> sorry, that was probably a bad joke to
- 31:19make.
- 31:21I'm not that bad yet. Um, I'll be sure
- 31:24to keep it under control.
- 31:28>> Do you have any sense or connection to
- 31:31your brother or is this a Vin bounty
- 31:34hunter thing that's just going to hunt
- 31:36us to the ends of the earth and pop up
- 31:38one day to try and kill us?
- 31:42When I understand the latter,
- 31:46um, I have no
- 31:49sense of connection to Laric.
- 31:52Don't know where he's at or what he's
- 31:54doing,
- 31:56but from what Nar Nasar has told us
- 31:58about him and Nazim,
- 32:00they're hunting for the amulet. They
- 32:03need it to unleash Nazim's full power
- 32:06and destroy all of Kumshan. and another
- 32:09world ending event we can hopefully deal
- 32:11with once we finish up in this place. Or
- 32:15perhaps that's just for me.
- 32:19But they may just very well show up one
- 32:21day and
- 32:23well
- 32:26see what happens then.
- 32:27>> Is everyone starting to pick at the food
- 32:29and and like drinking whatever? [music]
- 32:32>> Yeah.
- 32:33>> Uh then we'll be the last one to start
- 32:35eating or drinking. [music]
- 32:41Not hungry, Ben. [music]
- 32:46London says
- 32:47>> I ate a bit I ate a [music] bit later in
- 32:48the day. I I had a bit of a snack. I'm
- 32:52not super hungry, but I I'll have a
- 32:54little something. [music]
- 32:56And you'll you'll see that like uh what
- 32:59do you call it? Like if you're really
- 33:00observant, you'll notice that like if
- 33:02there is like a dish that no one has
- 33:04touched, like Vin won't touch it.
- 33:05[music] She'll only eat the stuff she
- 33:06saw someone else eat.
- 33:08>> Huh.
- 33:10>> I see what's [music] going on here.
- 33:13>> She's trying to be subtle with it,
- 33:14though. Like like maybe there's
- 33:18>> Yeah. Yeah. Maybe there's like um
- 33:20>> you know something. Yeah. She's trying
- 33:21to keep it down low. Like uh like if
- 33:23London grabs something and says it's
- 33:24good, Vin's like, "Oh, I'll try it,
- 33:26too." And Oh, yeah. That that's pretty
- 33:27good.
- 33:28>> I guess somebody pours her a drink and
- 33:30they don't and they look away, she like
- 33:32swaps the drinks. I don't know if she'd
- 33:34go that far, but she'd probably just
- 33:36again wait for like the other person to
- 33:37take the first sip.
- 33:40>> She just like swash swishing it around
- 33:42like smelling it, but not doing anything
- 33:43[music] until that.
- 33:45>> Yeah. Did is the wine is like a wine
- 33:47bottle or is it just like he touches the
- 33:49glasses in it?
- 33:50>> They fill. Yep.
- 33:55>> It's like those uh those like special
- 33:57beer glasses or whatever that like fill
- 33:58from the bottom.
- 33:59>> Yeah.
- 34:00>> That's cool. I mean, this is like the
- 34:02first nice [music] city I've seen down
- 34:04here that I'm not like immediately
- 34:05suspicious of and like afraid of.
- 34:10So, definitely taking advantage of this.
- 34:11>> Yeah, he has a uh Nar has a special
- 34:14create food and water, [music] but it
- 34:16makes this
- 34:19>> better than create food and water. Worse
- 34:21than Hero's Feast.
- 34:24>> Yep. Right in the middle. It says it on
- 34:27the stat block.
- 34:28>> [laughter]
- 34:28>> Um
- 34:30he will uh look around with his glass to
- 34:33sarwell and he will say this is very
- 34:36good my friends. I in my life I have
- 34:39lived in palaces [music]
- 34:40and I have lived beneath tents. I have
- 34:43lived among the clouds and kings.
- 34:46Home has never once been within the
- 34:49walls.
- 34:51It has always been the people I share a
- 34:53meal with. Hey,
- 34:55>> he'll raise up his glass.
- 35:01Got it from shears.
- 35:04>> He'll raise [music] up a glass of
- 35:06Hellsting Brandy.
- 35:09>> They drink the brandy instead of the
- 35:10wine.
- 35:12>> Seems like a perfect occasion.
- 35:15>> Phy seems more of a brandy person
- 35:16anyways. [music]
- 35:20>> Seems [cough] like there will be plenty
- 35:22more wine to go.
- 35:24Yep. You can do this every day. Once a
- 35:27day.
- 35:29>> Oh, poor Gunner can't eat. I just
- 35:31remembered.
- 35:33>> He just has to sit there and watch.
- 35:34>> Takes the rice and smashes it against
- 35:36his ferious
- 35:38>> m human food. Yummy.
- 35:40>> Yes.
- 35:43>> Um, is there anything else you guys want
- 35:45to do or talk about in this [music] time
- 35:47period?
- 35:49While we're all gathered here and in
- 35:52[music] some comfort,
- 35:58I do want to ask whether it is [music]
- 36:00worth the effort or worth the shot to
- 36:03try and divine some information about
- 36:06either our destination also after this
- 36:09conversation.
- 36:11I mean, Sar and his brother are pretty
- 36:12[ __ ] famous, right?
- 36:14>> Yeah.
- 36:15Uh yeah. No. No. Yes. Iffy. There's not
- 36:20[music] much legendarily known about
- 36:23them. No.
- 36:25>> Okay.
- 36:27>> And they're a footnote.
- 36:30>> Okay.
- 36:30>> Purposefully [music] so.
- 36:33>> I was imagining like Hercules.
- 36:35>> No.
- 36:35>> Level fame. Not
- 36:36>> No. No. No.
- 36:37>> Yeah. Okay.
- 36:37>> Yeah. I mean, I remember like when we
- 36:39were in Candle Keep, I had the scribes
- 36:42looking for days about anything about
- 36:44Nar and they found one footnote about
- 36:46him.
- 36:48on purpose. [music] That's purposeful.
- 36:52>> Okay. So with that eliminated,
- 36:56>> so we'll just
- 36:56>> we think the crypt might pop up on this
- 36:58radar,
- 37:02[music]
- 37:04>> but that might be another like lost
- 37:06thing, like lost piece of history
- 37:12>> cuz we haven't really heard about the
- 37:14crypt until [music] pretty recently,
- 37:16right?
- 37:17>> Yeah.
- 37:19>> I think didn't Osiris mention it at one
- 37:22point? She said like one of the devils
- 37:24was charged with watching over the crypt
- 37:26where the crusaders [music] who didn't
- 37:27turn tail lie.
- 37:29>> Oantheus's last order was to watch over
- 37:31the crypt.
- 37:35[music]
- 37:36>> The last order given to him specific.
- 37:41>> So what do we what what are you trying
- 37:44to just to learn about it? Yeah, because
- 37:47we've heard next to like we we've
- 37:50gathered quite some information about
- 37:51Yale's fate after that [music] fateful
- 37:54day.
- 37:55We know what became of Zary. We know
- 37:57what became of Haramong.
- 38:02[music] But
- 38:04>> it seemed like those visions, I mean,
- 38:06who else could that be?
- 38:09The Flaming Golden Knight.
- 38:12I mean, he had the giant mustache on his
- 38:16face, correct? Uh, even in his [music]
- 38:18armor. I mean, I
- 38:21have to believe it. Beanththeus.
- 38:27And I feel like we haven't learned much
- 38:29about his fate after the ride.
- 38:33Is he a devil? Is he somehow holding on
- 38:37to a piece of his humanity?
- 38:40Do you think if we asked specifically
- 38:42about [music] Alanthus, would that be
- 38:44better?
- 38:46>> I think that's a better idea. We
- 38:50We know that he was kind to Lulu and
- 38:53didn't just turn her over to Zaryel.
- 38:57>> Yeah, cuz up until then, I was under the
- 38:59impression that he was one of Zaryiel's
- 39:02like lieutenants and stuff like Haruman.
- 39:06[snorts]
- 39:08But then he tries to help Lulu.
- 39:12>> Help her in what capacity though? We
- 39:16when we saw when we heard the scream
- 39:19send him his his he he he almost looked
- 39:24scared if a devil could do that through
- 39:26his armor. Nervous at the least.
- 39:30Do you think that was devils or demons
- 39:32coming for Lulu
- 39:34or something else entirely?
- 39:37No idea. I don't even know where that
- 39:40fits in the timeline.
- 39:42>> After Lulu escaped the Citadel, right?
- 39:48Your lady wasn't with her
- 39:49>> cuz we have a straight line from up
- 39:51until she leaves the C wall.
- 39:59But then I'm not
- 40:02I just say I'm not quite sure where
- 40:04Mahadi,
- 40:06the Magpies, and
- 40:09the Crypt all relate to each other.
- 40:19>> You want to try it out?
- 40:22>> Yeah, it's worth a shot, right?
- 40:23>> On Oanthus.
- 40:25>> Yeah. So I will put on the uh helm of
- 40:28torm [music]
- 40:30and try to invoke a divine connection
- 40:35and reach out and use divine
- 40:37intervention to cast this without
- 40:38components. [music]
- 40:39>> So when [clears throat] you do this,
- 40:44you feel a faint connection to [music]
- 40:47something divine, right? like this sort
- 40:49of celestial connection that is
- 40:50immediately twisted and corrupted
- 40:52[music]
- 40:53and you start to see the devil's lore,
- 40:57right? As if you were deferred
- 41:01[music]
- 41:02because this the famous person placed
- 41:04this spell brings to mind a brief
- 41:05summary of significant lore, right? So
- 41:08the key word there is lore. So nobody
- 41:11really gives a [ __ ] about this on the
- 41:13surface, [music]
- 41:14but there are devils that know about
- 41:15this. So you're pulling from devil
- 41:17information, right?
- 41:18>> It's probably preferable.
- 41:20>> So keep [music] that in mind, right? But
- 41:22there you're you don't get a whole lot
- 41:24because not a whole lot is known,
- 41:25[music] which is information in of
- 41:28itself, right? But you do understand
- 41:30that
- 41:33Oanthus
- 41:37was
- 41:38think how to word this.
- 41:42Oanthus is
- 41:45bound to Zariel's [music] will
- 41:49and he protects the crypt of the
- 41:53crusader. He built and protects the
- 41:56crypt of the crusaders.
- 42:01So there's not much known about him.
- 42:06But if you ask some if you ask Belle,
- 42:08you know, this is what Belle would know.
- 42:16That's it though.
- 42:18As far as any of the other devils are
- 42:20concerned, he's just a a devil himself
- 42:23or something like that.
- 42:34>> Well, I will convey that to the party.
- 42:36And I guess all this to say is I just I
- 42:40don't know if it's founded, but I don't
- 42:41get the same feeling I do from our mom
- 42:45where it seems like he is gone.
- 42:50The the man he was is dead and the devil
- 42:52has taken his place.
- 42:56Whereas we haven't interacted with
- 42:57Alanthus, so I'm not sure if he's that
- 43:00far gone or could even potentially be an
- 43:02ally.
- 43:05Perhaps Haruman's death released the
- 43:07monster that was inside the whole time.
- 43:12Whereas Alanthus
- 43:15still
- 43:17still retains a bit of his compassion,
- 43:21love for Lady Alle, some sort of
- 43:24humanity in the devil seems wrong, but
- 43:28something there
- 43:29>> cuz he must have been transformed. This
- 43:30is all Kirk. He's a He's a human, so
- 43:33can't still be combined naturally.
- 43:36>> By the way, I mentioned I I know I said
- 43:38he had golden armor, and I think in the
- 43:41vision it was like the glint [music] off
- 43:42the sun, but his armor is black and
- 43:44gold. I just want to make that clear.
- 43:50>> Didn't he wear black and gold armor as
- 43:52he was alive, too?
- 43:53>> Gold. It was full [music] gold.
- 43:55>> Full gold. Yeah. So, the black has sort
- 43:58of the black metal with the gold trim.
- 44:06>> Do we um
- 44:08bring or present Lulu with us? Do you
- 44:11think that will jog some semblance of
- 44:13humanity in him if there's any left?
- 44:22Hannahis, can we keep Lulu in here
- 44:25until we know it might be safe for her
- 44:27to come out and try?
- 44:29>> Well,
- 44:30she can stay in here with me. [music]
- 44:34Um, I cannot put people in here without
- 44:37me being here unless they're dead.
- 44:41>> I'd prefer not to have Lulu front and
- 44:42center [music] until we're a little a
- 44:44little more sure of what we're talking
- 44:46to. It's not a bad idea, London. [music]
- 44:50I think uh for the cannon I think it's
- 44:53like the amulet has to be like [music]
- 44:55in a safe stationary position in order
- 44:58for everybody to enter and come as they
- 45:00go right you can't be wearing it or the
- 45:03on the war machine moving stuff like
- 45:05that
- 45:10[music]
- 45:11but yes we we can try to keep her hidden
- 45:14in some sense um whether or not that's
- 45:17back in the war machine in our
- 45:20um in August uh new
- 45:24hole that he totally left outside and
- 45:26didn't bring in here for safety means
- 45:29>> cuz you totally warned us what you were
- 45:30doing beforehand.
- 45:31>> I totally warned him. [laughter] I told
- 45:33August, so get rid of that hole. Put it
- 45:35down.
- 45:36>> Campaign over. The bag of hold as well
- 45:39is not in here.
- 45:44>> [music]
- 45:46>> But that's only an hour of air.
- 45:50>> Perhaps [music] we just leave her um
- 45:53outside in the protective circle like
- 45:56the hell was [music] nest until we're
- 45:57ready to present her.
- 46:00Although I will say from the visions, it
- 46:02seemed like Lanthus cared [music] for
- 46:04Lulu to the point where he nurtured her
- 46:08back to health and sent her off before
- 46:11whatever was hunting her could [music]
- 46:13get to her.
- 46:15>> What seems so surprising? I couldn't
- 46:17imagine Haramon offering
- 46:20that such care.
- 46:23>> It very well could have been. He was
- 46:24protecting Zaryiel's asset. demons were
- 46:27at the door and he was getting her to
- 46:29Zaryiel
- 46:32and we could be sorely misinterpreting
- 46:34this whole [music] situation.
- 46:36Possible, but it I would expect if he
- 46:39was an agent of Zario like Powermon was,
- 46:41he would be far [music] more notable.
- 46:43He'd be tearing across the hills doing
- 46:46her bidding, not honoring the dead.
- 46:49>> Well, he's staying at his post.
- 46:55What interests do the devils have and
- 46:58bunch of mortal graves?
- 47:00>> What interest does Zariel have to a
- 47:02bunch of mortal graves?
- 47:08>> Well, we know Zaryo at least
- 47:12had enough respect for [music] the
- 47:14crusaders who died and didn't retreat to
- 47:17allow their crypt to be made
- 47:20and a [music] warden to watch over their
- 47:23souls. even though they're not at peace
- 47:25and not impaled on iron trees upon
- 47:28Craven Hill like the people who fled the
- 47:32battle.
- 47:40Well, I suppose we'll find out when we
- 47:42get there.
- 47:49>> Healthy caution,
- 47:52of course.
- 47:53But Lulu thinks that we [music] need to
- 47:55go there to help Volantheus. And that's
- 47:59why
- 48:01we're doing it. So
- 48:06I see no reason why we shouldn't at
- 48:08least entertain the thought of expecting
- 48:11him to have some good in him.
- 48:15>> That's a good point. And Lulu will
- 48:17further [music] express that. Like if
- 48:18she had a good feeling about him, he
- 48:20couldn't be that bad.
- 48:26So, I'm sure I've said this many times
- 48:27before and I'll say it many times after
- 48:30this, but I'm cautiously optimistic.
- 48:38Nasar will say, "If I may interpose, uh,
- 48:42there is an expression in Kumshen,
- 48:45an empty cup and a worried [music] mind
- 48:48are both improved by a good story."
- 48:51Now whether or not that is actually an
- 48:53expression or something an old car
- 48:55caravanner invented after [music] his
- 48:56third cup of wine, Agma only knows. But
- 49:00it does remind me of a story that I have
- 49:02always been fond of. And if [music] you
- 49:04would grant an old man the honor of uh
- 49:07telling it, I be happy to entertain a
- 49:10lot of you before uh you all turn in for
- 49:12the night.
- 49:18>> I always liked a good story before bed.
- 49:20Milo used to read me a book every night.
- 49:26>> This is an old Kalesite merchants tale.
- 49:31It tells of a a ruby called the heart of
- 49:34Kisar. It is said to be the most
- 49:36beautiful gem ever pulled from the bones
- 49:38of the desert. Kings coveted it. [music]
- 49:41Sultans offered fortunes for it. Men
- 49:44crossed half the world hoping only to
- 49:46glimpse it.
- 49:48Now the ruby it belonged to a collector,
- 49:51a very wealthy man and a very difficult
- 49:54one. [music] He was known throughout the
- 49:57land as the most impossible man to
- 49:59bargain with. Every merchant knew these
- 50:03stories. [music]
- 50:04None could purchase the heart of Kisar
- 50:06from him. He had refused riches beyond
- 50:10compare. He had refused wives of
- 50:12unending beauty. He had refused lordship
- 50:16of whole kingdoms.
- 50:19So after many years no one went to him
- 50:23until one day a jewel merchant a young
- 50:26jewel merchant had heard the tales of
- 50:29the heart of Kisar and he desired it as
- 50:31a [music] gift for his betro.
- 50:34So he traveled across the desert seeking
- 50:36the collector. [music]
- 50:38Everywhere the young merchant traveled,
- 50:40people warned him. Do not waste your
- 50:43journey, they said. [music] His price is
- 50:45impossible.
- 50:48And the young merchant thanked each of
- 50:49them for their wisdom.
- 50:52But he continued on.
- 50:55When he at last stood before the
- 50:57collector, he bowed and said, "Salam aik
- 51:01mallay," which means, "Peace be upon
- 51:04your household, sir."
- 51:06Before the collector could reply, the
- 51:09young man continued, "What is your price
- 51:12for the heart of Kisar?"
- 51:15[music]
- 51:16The collector stared at him for a long
- 51:18while. And then the collector laughed.
- 51:22"For 40 years," the collector said. "Men
- 51:26have traveled far and wide to my home,
- 51:28convinced they already knew my price.
- 51:31They came with wagons of gold that I did
- 51:34not need. [music]
- 51:35They came offering kingdoms I did not
- 51:38desire. They came offering the hands of
- 51:40their daughters when I am already wed.
- 51:44They then spent years convincing
- 51:46themselves I would demand what they
- 51:48would never give.
- 51:50You, my [music] friend, are the first
- 51:53man who has simply asked.
- 51:58The young merchant smiled
- 52:00and he said, "Then what is your price
- 52:05[music] and the collector was quiet for
- 52:06a long moment.
- 52:09I wish to hear about the world," he
- 52:12[music] said. "All my life I have
- 52:15dreamed of distant horizons, but I was
- 52:17born with legs that could scarcely carry
- 52:20me across my garden. So I gathered
- 52:22treasures from lands I knew I would
- 52:25never walk.
- 52:28The young merchant was surprised but
- 52:30obliged him. And that night they shared
- 52:32a meal.
- 52:34The young merchant spoke to the
- 52:36collector that night until the lamps
- 52:38burned low. He spoke of moonlit caravans
- 52:41crossing the great Callum desert, of
- 52:44hidden oasises, of ancient ruins where
- 52:47jin kings once held court, of bustling
- 52:50bizaars [music] where every road in the
- 52:53world seemed to meet.
- 52:56And when the evening was done, the
- 52:58collector,
- 53:00he placed the ruby into the young
- 53:02[music] merchant's hands. "Take it," he
- 53:05said. "It has been many years since
- 53:07anyone came seeking conversation
- 53:10instead of [music] conquest."
- 53:14The young merchant returned home with
- 53:16the heart of Kisar, and he placed it
- 53:18around his wife's neck on the day they
- 53:20were [music] wed.
- 53:22As for the collector,
- 53:25the old tales say that his house was
- 53:27never lonely again. For word spread that
- 53:30an evening's conversation was worth more
- 53:33to him than all of the golden calamia.
- 53:45He will [music] smile and bow.
- 53:49As I imagine, while he was standing,
- 53:51he's telling this tale and he like does
- 53:53illusions of like, oh, here's the heart
- 53:55of Kisar and the young little merchant
- 53:57is in smoke, right? The whole thing's
- 53:59like being described in like the wispy
- 54:01sort of smoke.
- 54:05A a very old merchant told [music] me
- 54:07that tale once. He said, "Every young
- 54:11man believes that the moral is that
- 54:13appearances are deceiving."
- 54:17But that merchant was old. And he said,
- 54:20"A wise man knows that the lesson
- 54:23[music] is to never allow a man's
- 54:26reputation to bargain [music] in your
- 54:29place.
- 54:31If you have not heard the price from his
- 54:34own lips, then you do not [music] know
- 54:36the price."
- 54:41>> It is a poignant [music] lesson for
- 54:44where we are.
- 54:47He uh smirks but tries to conceal it.
- 54:50It's a strange thing, reputation. It has
- 54:53a habit of speaking for a man long
- 54:55before he is ever given a chance.
- 54:57[music]
- 55:19You're uh quite the hostess, huh?
- 55:23He vows again.
- 55:26It is a great honor for you to say this
- 55:28to me.
- 55:32You have been a [music] great host to me
- 55:34when I was but a simple merchant, a
- 55:37refugee from Elterell. No, he smiles.
- 55:43you
- 55:46weren't.
- 55:48But I understand [music] what you're
- 55:50saying. That said, you did help get all
- 55:53of those people safely to Balders's
- 55:55Gate, and they owe you a great debt.
- 56:00I owe all of you a great debt. [music]
- 56:10Tell me one more thing before we turn in
- 56:13for the night.
- 56:15>> Faster Fisk, did he know who you were or
- 56:18is that?
- 56:19>> No, of No, no, [music] not my friend
- 56:22Felaster. He knew me as Mosf Malamadi.
- 56:28I'm sure if he had known my true
- 56:30identity, he would have turned me over
- 56:32to his uh mistress. [music] No.
- 56:36So VR, you think that she would have
- 56:38tried to do to you what Mahadi did?
- 56:42[music]
- 56:43>> Yeah. He shakes his head. It is not
- 56:45known.
- 56:47But my kind have been uh
- 56:52subjugated.
- 56:58Speaking of reputations, wizards have
- 57:00not earned one for being scrupulous.
- 57:10Oh, speaking of Mahadi, um,
- 57:14sorry about that almost getting you, you
- 57:17know, bound.
- 57:19>> No, no, no. Don't even [music] worry
- 57:21about is nothing.
- 57:26But the gene, the genies that he had
- 57:29subjugated to him,
- 57:32is there a way to free them?
- 57:36It is difficult depending on how long
- 57:38they have been uh in chains.
- 57:46It sounds like a pretty
- 57:51pretty horrific fate.
- 57:53But
- 57:55if it's consistent with most spells that
- 57:57I can think of, if he's the one binding
- 57:59them, he no longer exists.
- 58:03>> That too.
- 58:05>> We have no way to get to Mahadi. I was
- 58:08purely out of curiosity.
- 58:10>> Not always though, cuz genie binding is
- 58:12a little different cuz they put it in a
- 58:14focus, right? They put it in a solid
- 58:16object,
- 58:17>> right? So there is some instances where
- 58:20that happens, but a lot of times like
- 58:21the process of genie [music] binding
- 58:23physically binds them to an object.
- 58:26So it's a little more it's a little more
- 58:27tricky.
- 58:28>> Yeah. So if some other guy could just
- 58:29pick it up and be like cool free genie,
- 58:31>> which is how genies work. Yeah.
- 58:33[laughter]
- 58:37>> If a Laddin has taught us anything.
- 58:40>> Correct. Correct. [music and laughter]
- 58:42>> Yeah. When do I get my three wishes?
- 58:45>> Ah, he looks this looks a little
- 58:48sheepish.
- 58:53>> It's fine. Tannis said that jokingly.
- 58:55The wine's getting to Tannis at this
- 58:57point. Very uh he looks over at London
- 59:02like how many glasses have you had
- 59:03tonight?
- 59:05>> I uh learned my lesson the hard way
- 59:07after mut. You're no fun.
- 59:10>> Moderation is key, my friend. Another
- 59:13round for Tannis. And he's if you don't
- 59:15mind,
- 59:16>> tap on the glass.
- 59:17>> I think Tannis is going to probably down
- 59:19that and probably start to wander to his
- 59:21pile of pillows that he's used to
- 59:23sleeping in. [music]
- 59:24>> Sure. Absolutely. Um there is bunks now
- 59:28though.
- 59:29>> Yeah. But
- 59:31>> Dannis has his [music] home.
- 59:32>> Has his home. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely.
- 59:35Um does it Okay, so we can do watch like
- 59:37normal as well. [ __ ]
- 59:40>> [music]
- 59:41>> Um, so who's taking what watch?
- 59:45>> London can go first.
- 59:46>> All right, London will go first. Who's
- 59:48next?
- 59:49>> Second. Oh, Hilio second. Yeah, [music]
- 59:52Vin can take third then.
- 59:53>> All right.
- 59:57Um,
- 59:59why don't all three of you make me
- 1:00:00perception [music] checks?
- 1:00:0620
- 1:00:10>> 14
- 1:00:14>> seven
- 1:00:15>> London.
- 1:00:18There's [music]
- 1:00:20the war machine sort of parked in a in a
- 1:00:22secretive sort of secluded place.
- 1:00:25>> Mhm.
- 1:00:26>> Where are you looking out? Like [music]
- 1:00:29how how are you looking out? What does
- 1:00:30this look like?
- 1:00:32um
- 1:00:34perched on the roof a bit I guess
- 1:00:37looking out
- 1:00:40maybe towards [music] the sticks.
- 1:00:42>> Sure. You hear a weird clanking noise
- 1:00:48like a clink clank clank coming from
- 1:00:50inside of the war machine.
- 1:00:54>> Do you hear that, Jeno?
- 1:00:56>> Jenko's [music] ears perk up.
- 1:00:58>> Yeah. Uh he'll go head down between the
- 1:01:02knees and uh see if he can see anything.
- 1:01:06>> You don't?
- 1:01:08>> Hm.
- 1:01:10Um
- 1:01:12any like track? So like is this
- 1:01:15something subterranean that's crawled
- 1:01:17up?
- 1:01:17>> Make [music] a survival check.
- 1:01:19>> Sure.
- 1:01:22Survival
- 1:01:2417.
- 1:01:28Do you feel like a like a grease [music]
- 1:01:31stain on the floor of the war machine on
- 1:01:33like the inside
- 1:01:35>> about it? Like a shmear a shmear of
- 1:01:38grease.
- 1:01:39>> Uh London will like poke it around with
- 1:01:42the bottom of his bow a little bit.
- 1:01:44>> It's grease.
- 1:01:48>> Probably just the wind.
- 1:01:51>> He'll uh keep an ear out for it, but
- 1:01:54we'll like pay it. No mind. Uh
- 1:01:56>> yeah, after that you don't really hear
- 1:01:57anything else.
- 1:01:58H. And the rest of you don't hear
- 1:02:00anything during your watch [music] as
- 1:02:01well.
- 1:02:08[music]
- 1:02:09>> Okay, we're waking.
- 1:02:10>> Yeah, go ahead.
- 1:02:11>> I was going to say if no one says uh
- 1:02:13anything throughout their watches, Lynon
- 1:02:15will bring it up to Vin the next
- 1:02:17morning.
- 1:02:19You're going to mention the yokking on
- 1:02:21the steering wheel. I've heard some
- 1:02:24tinkering, clicking, or something coming
- 1:02:26from some part of your war machine.
- 1:02:33>> That's strange. There was that thing
- 1:02:35with the wheel. I didn't even put one
- 1:02:37and two together for a second, but
- 1:02:39you're right. [clears throat]
- 1:02:43>> Yeah, I'm not a wheel scientist. I don't
- 1:02:45know how this thing works, but um
- 1:02:48[music]
- 1:02:48yeah, just struck me as odd. I figured
- 1:02:50I'd mention it.
- 1:02:52As you guys discussed, this gunner
- 1:02:53[music] hops in the front seat to get
- 1:02:55the car warmed up. And usually it's a
- 1:02:57ringing ding ding ding ding ding ring
- 1:02:59ding ding ding ding ding d right it
- 1:03:04first click clickum
- 1:03:07[music] b starts right up.
- 1:03:16Some sort [music] of wearing in period
- 1:03:18that we're really hitting the sweet spot
- 1:03:19with yammer here. What's going on?
- 1:03:24>> Is there a mechanically inclined dune
- 1:03:26rat crawling around in there?
- 1:03:30>> You said the door was sticky yesterday
- 1:03:32then too, [music] right?
- 1:03:34>> Well, that that was that something that
- 1:03:36was like that way for a while.
- 1:03:37>> Yeah, it's been that way for a while.
- 1:03:38Yeah.
- 1:03:39>> So, okay.
- 1:03:39>> So, that might have not been related. A
- 1:03:41good observation, but I guess it's not
- 1:03:42related. But but I think with this
- 1:03:46information, Ben will get like a little
- 1:03:49curious and she'll just be [music] like,
- 1:03:52"Oh, I'm going to maybe
- 1:03:54maybe we should just give uh nice look
- 1:03:57over the war machine. Uh can go
- 1:03:59underneath and see if anything weird is
- 1:04:01going on."
- 1:04:02>> Sure. Do you want to make [music] an
- 1:04:03investigation check with advantage?
- 1:04:05>> Sounds good.
- 1:04:07>> I'll toss a guidance on there for good
- 1:04:08measure.
- 1:04:09>> Well, he's doing that. I'll just pop a
- 1:04:11divine sense just in case.
- 1:04:14>> Uh, you get nothing, Oilia. [music]
- 1:04:21>> Uh, okay. So,
- 1:04:25there's one. You don't notice anything.
- 1:04:31Well, I'll say this. You notice a little
- 1:04:33little things, [music] right? Like some
- 1:04:35rust has been scrubbed off of parts of
- 1:04:38the machinery. like it's less rusty
- 1:04:40[music] than it usually is. And there's
- 1:04:43another the the main thing that you get
- 1:04:45is that there is a ribbon made of like a
- 1:04:49grease [music] rag that is tied around a
- 1:04:51pipe inside the inside the [music]
- 1:04:54engine like the hood of the engine,
- 1:04:55right?
- 1:04:57As you examine this pipe closer, [music]
- 1:04:59you notice cracks in the pipe from high
- 1:05:02temperature stress. This is common and
- 1:05:06and not that big of a deal. Like it's
- 1:05:08not like your war machine's about to
- 1:05:09explode or anything,
- 1:05:11but it shouldn't be getting that hot.
- 1:05:14But there's like a ribbon tied around
- 1:05:16this one
- 1:05:17pipe [music] that gets too hot
- 1:05:19sometimes. It's not a big deal. It's not
- 1:05:21like the war machine's going to explode.
- 1:05:22Honestly, it's just like an old part.
- 1:05:25>> Well, this might be stretching at this
- 1:05:26point, but like how long has the ribbon
- 1:05:28been there? Like has it [music] been
- 1:05:29there?
- 1:05:29>> It's hard to say.
- 1:05:31>> It's also a little singed cuz it you've
- 1:05:34driven it before, but so it wasn't there
- 1:05:35last night. I'll say that
- 1:05:38>> like or it was it's it was there last
- 1:05:40night. Like it wasn't just put there
- 1:05:41last night.
- 1:05:43>> Okay. Yeah. So, uh I was gonna say so
- 1:05:45she basically just never really thought
- 1:05:47about it. Never really noticed it,
- 1:05:49>> right?
- 1:05:49>> And now she notices it.
- 1:05:53[music]
- 1:05:55Well, I mean, uh Sam's not here, but I
- 1:05:57she would probably ask Gunner like if
- 1:05:59Gunner knows anything [music] about this
- 1:06:01ribbon.
- 1:06:02>> No, he didn't put it there.
- 1:06:05>> Hold on.
- 1:06:06We have that helm, right?
- 1:06:09The helm of telepathy. [music]
- 1:06:11>> Yeah, we have it still.
- 1:06:13If
- 1:06:14>> there's something in there,
- 1:06:17maybe it's thinking pick up thoughts.
- 1:06:22What? You think we have a stoway?
- 1:06:26>> I mean, what else could be rattling
- 1:06:27around in the war machine while it's
- 1:06:29[music] not moving?
- 1:06:32>> Whatever it is, isn't
- 1:06:37dish.
- 1:06:40What's down here that isn't a fiend? And
- 1:06:42[music] now we're undead.
- 1:06:48>> Usually
- 1:06:51say there's not other exceptions.
- 1:06:53>> Could it be an Mron the gunner?
- 1:06:58>> Yes, we [music] did drive through a
- 1:07:01graveyard of constructs.
- 1:07:04All those constructs are supposed to be
- 1:07:07disabled.
- 1:07:09>> They're also pretty big. They're like
- 1:07:12dwarf size.
- 1:07:14>> Well, I guess the spiders were not that
- 1:07:16big. It's human skull size.
- 1:07:23>> Let's try the try the helm. See if
- 1:07:25reaching out to anything inside this
- 1:07:27thing works. I don't know if that's how
- 1:07:29the I don't know anything about these
- 1:07:31magic things. Yeah. How does
- 1:07:32>> I don't know if any of us are attuned to
- 1:07:33it.
- 1:07:34>> No.
- 1:07:35>> Yeah. So,
- 1:07:36>> I mean, I have an attunement slot I can
- 1:07:39do real quick.
- 1:07:48[music]
- 1:07:51You want to give it a shot?
- 1:07:53>> Yeah. How does it work? Like what do you
- 1:07:55what do you
- 1:07:56>> uh you can cast detect thoughts from it.
- 1:07:58And I'm pretty sure detect thoughts like
- 1:08:02V would use it a lot in this nature
- 1:08:05to like you can [music] sense the
- 1:08:07presence of thoughts within 30 feet of
- 1:08:09you that belong to creatures that know
- 1:08:11languages or are telepathic.
- 1:08:14Um
- 1:08:17>> whatever.
- 1:08:18>> Oh, the spell is blocked by one inch of
- 1:08:21>> ah bummer.
- 1:08:22>> Wait, wait. It's blocked by what?
- 1:08:23>> One inch of metal.
- 1:08:26>> Huh. Good to know though. I do have an
- 1:08:29attunement slot. I can just attune to it
- 1:08:31anyways if no one's using it, you know.
- 1:08:34>> Yeah, I'm full up. [music]
- 1:08:39>> Oh, maybe they changed it, but I know in
- 1:08:41the old version you could like sense
- 1:08:42invisible creatures around you
- 1:08:46>> by trying to read their mind.
- 1:08:48>> Yeah, I mean that's kind of how this
- 1:08:49[music] works. You sense the presence of
- 1:08:50thoughts within 30 ft of yourself.
- 1:08:55>> That's how I would interpret that.
- 1:08:57>> Oh, yeah. I I rewrote them [music] since
- 1:09:00>> or I mean you just flush them out the
- 1:09:03good oldfashioned way with some uh
- 1:09:04spirit guardians, right?
- 1:09:07Something's in there starts getting
- 1:09:08burned.
- 1:09:10>> Probably be a pretty rude thing to do,
- 1:09:11but you know,
- 1:09:12>> I think it'd be blocked by the cover.
- 1:09:15>> Oh, does cover block spirit guardians.
- 1:09:18>> I don't know if it says specifically.
- 1:09:21>> Is spirit guardians anything hostile to
- 1:09:23you or things that you choose aren't
- 1:09:25affected? uh things that I choose aren't
- 1:09:28affected.
- 1:09:30>> Interesting.
- 1:09:31>> Okay.
- 1:09:32>> Well, in that case, you would have to
- 1:09:39I feel like in that case, you have to
- 1:09:40know
- 1:09:42what it is you're dealing with. Even if
- 1:09:44it was an invisible creature, you would
- 1:09:46know that it was there, but you don't
- 1:09:48know where this thing is or anything
- 1:09:49about it.
- 1:09:54before we try microwaving this thing
- 1:09:57from afar. Um, [clears throat]
- 1:10:02>> could we [music] just look around the
- 1:10:04war machine? See if we can't find
- 1:10:06something.
- 1:10:06>> Yeah, Vin just did and she found nothing
- 1:10:08but a little [ __ ] tied piece of
- 1:10:10ribbon.
- 1:10:11>> Yeah, it could just be something totally
- 1:10:14different.
- 1:10:15Could just be a couple coincidences and
- 1:10:17we're in hell, so we're all paranoid.
- 1:10:23At least I'm paranoid.
- 1:10:25>> Can I detect magic? Can you detect magic
- 1:10:28on that uh ribbon?
- 1:10:31>> Yeah, I can do that.
- 1:10:32>> Yeah. No ma no magic on the ribbon.
- 1:10:35>> Oh, okay.
- 1:10:36>> I figured it's just there to mark this
- 1:10:38as like a some kind of faulty pipe. But
- 1:10:42>> hold on. You cast detect magic. Give me
- 1:10:45a investigation or perception check. Was
- 1:10:50it like 10 minutes less?
- 1:10:52>> Yeah.
- 1:10:52>> Yeah. Give me a investigation or or
- 1:10:54perception.
- 1:10:58>> 19.
- 1:10:58>> Yeah. You go through and you see on the
- 1:11:00on the floor on the inside the same
- 1:11:03patch of grease that London saw last
- 1:11:06night. It's got a little faint
- 1:11:09magic aura around this grease. Like the
- 1:11:12grease [music] itself is magical.
- 1:11:14>> Just throw it out to another [ __ ]
- 1:11:16bottle.
- 1:11:18You and your boggles, bro.
- 1:11:21>> Kofilia will kind of like dip a finger
- 1:11:23in it. Kind of look at it. [music]
- 1:11:25>> It's extremely slick.
- 1:11:27>> Gunar, is this oil magical?
- 1:11:32>> Gunnar will say it's grease and [music]
- 1:11:34it doesn't seem magical to him.
- 1:11:38I'm getting a faint
- 1:11:40detection off this oil
- 1:11:43grease.
- 1:11:46>> Like, do we use magic [music] grease for
- 1:11:49the war machine?
- 1:11:50>> No.
- 1:11:50>> Yeah, that seems like it'd be expensive.
- 1:11:56>> So, there's something in there.
- 1:12:03Something has been in there.
- 1:12:09But divine sense didn't pick it up.
- 1:12:11Damn.
- 1:12:12>> Trend the idea of an invisible mechanic
- 1:12:13coming in the night. A bit hard to
- 1:12:15believe.
- 1:12:16>> What about your uh can't you see things
- 1:12:19as they truly [music] are with the hell?
- 1:12:25>> Yeah. But what is there to see?
- 1:12:29>> What about that spell you got? in case
- 1:12:31there's an invisible creature like you
- 1:12:32just said some magical invisible I don't
- 1:12:35know
- 1:12:37>> mechanic I don't
- 1:12:40I think Vin's going to mention like uh I
- 1:12:43should be like oh what about that spell
- 1:12:45um can summon like a magical eye can
- 1:12:49that see invisibility
- 1:12:51>> no but I I can see invisibility the uh
- 1:12:55helm
- 1:12:57so yeah I guess I'll give yamos like a
- 1:12:59scan with true sight Okay. Make it an
- 1:13:01investigation check.
- 1:13:11>> You don't find anything.
- 1:13:15>> This might be a stretch.
- 1:13:19>> Zone of Truth. I know if something fails
- 1:13:22to save
- 1:13:25out all the stops now. Yeah.
- 1:13:30Yeah, you can do that.
- 1:13:30>> That's that's a real hacky workaround,
- 1:13:32but
- 1:13:33>> you can do whatever you want.
- 1:13:37>> We know whether a creature succeeds or
- 1:13:39failed on its save.
- 1:13:41>> So, give me one second.
- 1:13:44What's your DC?
- 1:13:47>> 15.
- 1:13:47>> DC
- 1:13:4915.
- 1:13:54>> Wow.
- 1:13:56Poor
- 1:13:59man's radar detector.
- 1:14:01>> What's the save?
- 1:14:04>> 15.
- 1:14:05>> Uh, the type is
- 1:14:07>> charisma.
- 1:14:08>> Charisma.
- 1:14:12>> Uh, yeah. Something in there failed to
- 1:14:14save.
- 1:14:16>> Oh,
- 1:14:16>> hopey. Get out of here. There's
- 1:14:18something in there.
- 1:14:20>> Oh, can I get in the cockpit?
- 1:14:22>> Yeah.
- 1:14:22>> Uh, get the forget the name of it. the
- 1:14:25infernal y
- 1:14:26>> like GPS system. Yeah.
- 1:14:28>> Hit the detect good and evil button.
- 1:14:31>> Okay. What does that do?
- 1:14:33>> I think it's detect good and evil like a
- 1:14:34300 foot radius.
- 1:14:35>> Yeah. Yeah. What's detect evil and good?
- 1:14:37Oh,
- 1:14:38>> okay. Uh I think it's like pretty much
- 1:14:40any extra planer creature.
- 1:14:43So if it's not fiend, celestial, or
- 1:14:45undead, it might be something else.
- 1:14:46That's my thinking.
- 1:14:49Where is this? [music] Oh my goodness.
- 1:14:52>> The same as divine sense. Yeah, you get
- 1:14:55a ping.
- 1:14:56>> No, you get aberrations, elementals,
- 1:14:58fay.
- 1:14:59>> You get a ping.
- 1:15:02>> Something's inside the war machine.
- 1:15:05It's little.
- 1:15:09>> Hello.
- 1:15:11Uh, we've discovered somebody's in
- 1:15:13there.
- 1:15:15>> Can we help you?
- 1:15:16>> No response.
- 1:15:20>> Is there a polite greeting in Infernal
- 1:15:22or is it just like, "Fuck you. What's
- 1:15:24up?
- 1:15:28>> Does it It doesn't tell you which it is.
- 1:15:29You just know the [music] location.
- 1:15:32>> Yeah.
- 1:15:34>> Yeah. So, yeah.
- 1:15:39Nope. Nothing.
- 1:15:46Hey. What the What the nine hells is
- 1:15:48going on here? You're saying there's
- 1:15:50some tiny little thing fixing our war
- 1:15:52[music] machine for fun, but doesn't
- 1:15:55want to talk to us,
- 1:15:56>> dude. It's a chowinga, bro. It's a
- 1:16:00desert. It's a desert chowinga. I'm
- 1:16:02calling my shot right now.
- 1:16:07>> Aberration, elemental, or fay are
- 1:16:10options
- 1:16:16>> cuz divine sense didn't pick it,
- 1:16:18>> right? [music] Emperoration doesn't
- 1:16:19sound right.
- 1:16:22Fay or elemental?
- 1:16:25>> This seems like some fay trickery.
- 1:16:30>> But it's fixing the war machine. Why
- 1:16:33would it do that? That That's not a very
- 1:16:36fun trick. Like, oh, hey, I just greased
- 1:16:40your axle. Haha.
- 1:16:43>> I mean, if you phrase it like that, it's
- 1:16:45pretty funny.
- 1:16:47The fay are inscrutable.
- 1:16:49Almost unscrutable to us mortals. Who
- 1:16:51knows?
- 1:16:57This thing has been helpful so far. Do
- 1:16:59we really want to tear the war machine
- 1:17:00apart to find it or just
- 1:17:03see what [music] else it does?
- 1:17:10I mean, we might not have a choice.
- 1:17:16We do have a lot of driving to do. I I'm
- 1:17:18on half a mind to just
- 1:17:23>> unless there's any other ideas. Maybe we
- 1:17:25should just leave.
- 1:17:28>> I guess just keep keep an eye out on the
- 1:17:31war machine for anything moving around
- 1:17:34that shouldn't be there.
- 1:17:40Well, uh, makes me a little bit uneasy
- 1:17:43to know that there's something crawling
- 1:17:45around in there, but I suppose if it's,
- 1:17:48uh,
- 1:17:49it's not a a fiend or a
- 1:17:54maybe it'll be friendly. Hasn't done
- 1:17:56anything to us yet really.
- 1:18:05I can maybe use a language barrier and I
- 1:18:08can attempt to cast tongues tomorrow,
- 1:18:12but it seems like they simply don't want
- 1:18:15to be noticed.
- 1:18:22Getting pretty hot out here already,
- 1:18:24gents. Perhaps we should uh move on for
- 1:18:27now. Try again tomorrow.
- 1:18:32All righty.
- 1:18:35I'll put like a little cup of water
- 1:18:37somewhere discreet.
- 1:18:38>> Sure.
- 1:18:39>> Just to see what happens.
- 1:18:40>> Okay.
- 1:18:42So, I rolled [music] for the weather
- 1:18:44today.
- 1:18:47It's not looking good. [laughter]
- 1:18:50Boy, it's not looking good.
- 1:18:54So, I need to find [music]
- 1:18:57a secondary
- 1:19:06secondary table here.
- 1:19:09>> Uh, if we want to take like a little
- 1:19:10bathroom break.
- 1:19:11>> Sure. Sure. Sure. Let's take a break.
- 1:19:12Yeah. Yeah. Let's take a break.
- 1:19:14>> All right. Be right back.
- 1:19:31>> [music]
- 1:19:45[music]
- 1:19:50>> Heat. Heat.
- 1:19:53>> [music]
- 1:20:01>> Heat. Heat.
- 1:20:11[music]
- 1:20:21>> [music]
- 1:20:24>> Heat. Heat.
- 1:20:33Heat. Heat.
- 1:20:43Heat. Heat.
- 1:20:58[music]
- 1:21:11>> [music]
- 1:21:16[music]
- 1:21:20>> Heat up
- 1:21:23here.
- 1:21:30Heat. Heat.
- 1:21:53>> [music]
- 1:22:04>> Heat. Heat.
- 1:22:12Heat. Heat. [music]
- 1:22:22Heat.
- 1:22:31[music]
- 1:22:35Heat.
- 1:22:37[music]
- 1:22:43Heat.
- 1:22:46[music]
- 1:23:05Heat.
- 1:23:09Heat.
- 1:23:17[music]
- 1:23:26Heat.
- 1:23:32>> [music]
- 1:23:45>> Heat. Heat. [music]
- 1:24:09Heat. Heat.
- 1:24:16Heat.
- 1:24:18[music]
- 1:24:27[music]
- 1:24:36[music]
- 1:24:42[music]
- 1:24:43Heat.
- 1:24:55>> [music]
- 1:24:56>> Heat. Heat.
- 1:25:01[music]
- 1:25:06Heat. Heat.
- 1:25:09[music]
- 1:25:28Heat.
- 1:25:44Heat.
- 1:25:51Heat
- 1:25:56>> [music]
- 1:26:02[music]
- 1:26:08[music]
- 1:26:10>> up Heat.
- 1:26:22Heat.
- 1:26:31Heat.
- 1:26:34[music]
- 1:26:40[music]
- 1:26:46[music]
- 1:26:47Heat.
- 1:26:52[music]
- 1:26:54Heat.
- 1:26:58[music]
- 1:27:04[music]
- 1:27:09Heat. [music]
- 1:27:23>> [music]
- 1:27:44>> Heat up here.
- 1:27:49Let's get right back.
- 1:27:53Give people what they want. Uh, okay.
- 1:27:56We're back. Give me a test test real
- 1:27:58quick.
- 1:28:00>> Test test test check.
- 1:28:06>> Yes. Okay. Uh, so like I said a second
- 1:28:10ago, I want to just do I don't want to
- 1:28:12derail this whole thing. So I just want
- 1:28:14to move [music] two hex's. tell you what
- 1:28:15happened. Move two hex's tell you what
- 1:28:17happened. And if something happens where
- 1:28:18we break it down, then we break it down.
- 1:28:20>> Which hexes are we going into today?
- 1:28:24>> I think G1.
- 1:28:27>> There you go. G12.
- 1:28:28>> G11.
- 1:28:29>> So while you are in G12,
- 1:28:33you will notice like this is [music]
- 1:28:35something that's just like a passing
- 1:28:36thing that you pass by. A wide section
- 1:28:40of wasteland is marked by [music]
- 1:28:41countless scorched craters carved into
- 1:28:43the earth. Floating above the terrain
- 1:28:46are large [music] chunks of earth and
- 1:28:47broken rock suspended motionlessly in
- 1:28:50the air. Some hover only a few feet
- 1:28:52above the ground while [music] others
- 1:28:54drift high overhead.
- 1:28:56So you as players are probably familiar
- 1:28:59with [music] earth moes um from Cholt.
- 1:29:02These are just earth moes that randomly
- 1:29:04float and you [music] just travel
- 1:29:05through an area that where these craters
- 1:29:08had exploded. Must have been some kind
- 1:29:09of very intense magical [music]
- 1:29:11something that went into it because
- 1:29:13there's now earth modes floating.
- 1:29:16Um, but that's it for this day.
- 1:29:20Is there anything special you guys want
- 1:29:21to do at night other than go into the We
- 1:29:26got to name this place your amulet. It's
- 1:29:29got to have a name. The amulet. [music]
- 1:29:31Go into the amulet sleep place.
- 1:29:37Tannis's house.
- 1:29:39>> I'll come up with something better.
- 1:29:40>> Yeah, of course in the future
- 1:29:42>> for now.
- 1:29:43>> Uh, is there anything you guys want to
- 1:29:44do or talk about?
- 1:29:48>> I'll check on the water. Is it has any
- 1:29:50[music] gone missing?
- 1:29:51>> No, not from I mean travel, but not
- 1:29:54nothing. Nothing. Nope.
- 1:29:59Can I do
- 1:30:00>> some sort of animal here? Little ear
- 1:30:04here. Like try and coke coax this thing
- 1:30:06out.
- 1:30:06>> Yeah. Uh uh Django licks your hand
- 1:30:10[music]
- 1:30:11>> and eats whatever you were trying to
- 1:30:12give. [laughter]
- 1:30:13>> No, no, not you. There's something in
- 1:30:17there, Django. I'm going to get it.
- 1:30:19>> Uh can we pop the hood again? See if
- 1:30:23>> that ribbon and pipe are all the same.
- 1:30:24>> Yep.
- 1:30:33But I mean, no one is attuning to the
- 1:30:35helm of telepathy, right?
- 1:30:38>> Well, I thought you did.
- 1:30:40>> You have it.
- 1:30:40>> I was going to say, should I just do
- 1:30:42that just so it's not just being wasted?
- 1:30:47Okay, I'll attune to the t the helm of
- 1:30:50telepathy.
- 1:30:50>> Sure.
- 1:30:53the puddle of grease that was there, the
- 1:30:55the magical grease. Is it still there?
- 1:30:57>> Yeah. Well, I mean, it's probably
- 1:30:59smudged a lot. It was in the the cab uh
- 1:31:02in the cockpit. So, you know, Lulu was
- 1:31:05in there and Gunner was [music] in there
- 1:31:06and it probably smudged around a little
- 1:31:08bit.
- 1:31:09>> All right. Tannis is an infinite wisdom
- 1:31:10is going to try to use the helmet's
- 1:31:12telepathy to detect thoughts on the
- 1:31:13smudge [music] of grease.
- 1:31:15>> Yep. That does exactly what you imagine
- 1:31:18it does.
- 1:31:19>> Yeah. Okay.
- 1:31:19>> Nothing. Tannis is going to be stay very
- 1:31:22silent about that and uh
- 1:31:25>> think about what he just done and sit in
- 1:31:27the corner. [laughter]
- 1:31:28>> Okay. Uh
- 1:31:31we can do watches again. Give me just
- 1:31:34[music] three random people. Three
- 1:31:35random watches. Let's get it.
- 1:31:37>> One. Two more. Two.
- 1:31:42Perfect. London. You hear some weird
- 1:31:44noises again.
- 1:31:45>> God damn it.
- 1:31:47>> You investigate. You don't see, you
- 1:31:49don't figure out what it was.
- 1:31:50>> I'm going to find you one day, Chuinga.
- 1:31:52Mark my words.
- 1:31:54>> Uh, in the morning, you all wake up in
- 1:31:56the morning. In the morning, [music]
- 1:31:58doesn't seem like anything has changed
- 1:32:00about the watch that you
- 1:32:04[music] Where the heck are we going to?
- 1:32:09>> G9.
- 1:32:10>> Okay.
- 1:32:13As soon as you start traveling, Gunner
- 1:32:16immediately notices the [music] brakes
- 1:32:18are more touchy now. Like they're more
- 1:32:21sensitive than they were. You don't have
- 1:32:23to slam on the brakes to get it to slow
- 1:32:25down. It's sensitive like how it's
- 1:32:27supposed to be.
- 1:32:34[music]
- 1:32:35Let's see.
- 1:32:39No, nothing happens during time. No
- 1:32:41encounters today.
- 1:32:43>> We just got a little bugger in here
- 1:32:45that's just gracing everything up. I
- 1:32:46guess
- 1:32:47>> maybe this is the a fake creature and
- 1:32:50the whole perversion is just to [ __ ]
- 1:32:52with [music] us. Even if it is doing
- 1:32:53something good.
- 1:32:58I know you said your machines have a
- 1:33:00mind of their own, but
- 1:33:02>> maybe this
- 1:33:03>> No.
- 1:33:04>> Oh, that that's an idea. But I was just
- 1:33:06going to say maybe whatever creature
- 1:33:08this is has a liking to war machines for
- 1:33:10some reason.
- 1:33:15>> I mean, this machine basically runs on
- 1:33:18souls. Can something possess it?
- 1:33:23>> That's not a bad idea.
- 1:33:29We've been putting a lot of thoughts
- 1:33:30through it [music] lately.
- 1:33:33If
- 1:33:33>> only we knew some sort of exorcist that
- 1:33:35could get rid of the soul remnant.
- 1:33:40>> He's a vampire, London. Calm down.
- 1:33:43>> You don't know that.
- 1:33:51>> Okay. Uh
- 1:33:53>> I suppose until it's an issue, it's not.
- 1:33:55Yeah. Yep.
- 1:33:57>> It uh you guys get some rest again,
- 1:34:00[music] I guess. Uh
- 1:34:04>> then we get three more. Yeah.
- 1:34:11>> Okay.
- 1:34:12>> Oh, this is another day of travel.
- 1:34:13>> Yes. Well, no, this is the night and
- 1:34:16then another day is about to happen. Um
- 1:34:18>> Oh, got it.
- 1:34:19>> So, you're approaching Craven Hill.
- 1:34:21You've actually been in this area
- 1:34:22before. [music]
- 1:34:24Uh, so
- 1:34:26Tannis, you hear some weird like scrub
- 1:34:29scrub noises in the middle of the night
- 1:34:30like
- 1:34:32just faintly and only for a little
- 1:34:34while.
- 1:34:40>> Can I try to figure out where they're
- 1:34:42coming from and like slowly, stealthily
- 1:34:45move to see?
- 1:34:47>> An investigation check or per or
- 1:34:48perception. I'll allow perception. Like
- 1:34:50hearing where the noise is coming from.
- 1:34:5419.
- 1:34:55>> Yeah. You you hone in. You slowly,
- 1:35:00quietly crawl underneath of the war
- 1:35:03machine and you could see there's a
- 1:35:05little pile of rust underneath of the
- 1:35:08war machine in the sand as if something
- 1:35:10was being scrubbed of rust. But you look
- 1:35:13up, you see nothing.
- 1:35:22Is something there?
- 1:35:27Ah, little [ __ ]
- 1:35:30All right, keep up the good work, I
- 1:35:32guess. And I'll roll out from under the
- 1:35:33war machine
- 1:35:34>> and just let London know when he comes
- 1:35:37out to his watch. Be like, "Yeah, it's
- 1:35:38still here."
- 1:35:39>> God damn it.
- 1:35:42>> Yep. London, during your watch, you also
- 1:35:44hear strange noises. Only for a second.
- 1:35:47It's not like all night you hear noises.
- 1:35:49You just hear like like you like
- 1:35:51something got dropped or you know like
- 1:35:53it's always some it's always just some
- 1:35:55it's like a mistake was made and that's
- 1:35:57[music] what you heard.
- 1:35:58>> Okay. Yeah, no problem. No, that's
- 1:36:00totally fine. This totally arrow
- 1:36:02randomly somewhere near the war machine.
- 1:36:05Does anything happen?
- 1:36:06>> No.
- 1:36:09>> He's joining us tricky, I suppose.
- 1:36:12>> All right. Well, keep up the good work
- 1:36:14and then I'll tag in Vin and relay the
- 1:36:16exact same message to her. [laughter]
- 1:36:18>> All right.
- 1:36:19Uh you guys uh wake up in the morning
- 1:36:23ready for your next day of travel,
- 1:36:25[cough] Gunner will notice like three of
- 1:36:28his [music] wrenches are missing
- 1:36:31and your pile of maintenance scrap that
- 1:36:34is just sort of in the back that you're
- 1:36:36supposed to use [music] to repair the
- 1:36:38war machine during combat and stuff. It
- 1:36:40has been organized.
- 1:36:44>> Wait, wait. What's been organized? your
- 1:36:46maintenance scrap [music] or whatever
- 1:36:47that you keep in the back. It's usually
- 1:36:49just a pile and you have to throw
- 1:36:50through it to get what you need. It's
- 1:36:52all organized by size.
- 1:37:00>> Okay. It's peculiar, but I don't hate
- 1:37:03this.
- 1:37:06This is the most positive thing that's
- 1:37:09happened to us since we've got down
- 1:37:10here.
- 1:37:13>> Oh, yeah. Never mind the, you know,
- 1:37:15magical house that we're all living in
- 1:37:17with a feast and wine and beds and
- 1:37:19baths, but yeah, sure. Some little thing
- 1:37:23scrubbing some rust off the war machine
- 1:37:25is great. London,
- 1:37:27emphasis on the wine. A this [ __ ]
- 1:37:29guy, [laughter]
- 1:37:33>> he says quietly [music] so tis here.
- 1:37:36>> Yeah, she chuckles uh but and like, you
- 1:37:39know, does that thing where it sounds
- 1:37:40like a hiccup cuz she's trying to hide
- 1:37:42it. Um [laughter]
- 1:37:45but um but yeah, she'll remark on it.
- 1:37:48She'll be like, I mean, yeah, it's not
- 1:37:51bad, I guess, but like what what type of
- 1:37:53creature would want to do this? I never
- 1:37:56like I don't know. Can she do like a
- 1:37:58check? Maybe like like has she ever
- 1:38:00heard of a creature that has this kind
- 1:38:02of behavior?
- 1:38:05Like a tinkering?
- 1:38:06>> You can make a history check.
- 1:38:10>> Okay, that's what I figured you'd say.
- 1:38:12Um,
- 1:38:15normal roll
- 1:38:1816. You've heard of
- 1:38:23something kind of like this? They call
- 1:38:25them like household spirits,
- 1:38:29but there's sometimes there's little
- 1:38:31creatures
- 1:38:33that will fix things in your house.
- 1:38:37They're sometimes [music] they're
- 1:38:38usually they're fay. You think? You're
- 1:38:40not entirely sure. this. That's the only
- 1:38:42thing that you can think of that would
- 1:38:43be anything relatively close to this.
- 1:38:45And it's not close.
- 1:38:49All right. Yeah, she'll relay this.
- 1:38:51She'll be like, you know, it's not quite
- 1:38:52the same thing, but creatures similar to
- 1:38:55this do exist, but whatever this
- 1:38:58creature is, FY, you know, if it's Fay
- 1:39:00or something else, uh, does [music] seem
- 1:39:03to have a liking to the war machine.
- 1:39:09In all the stories, a fay offers you
- 1:39:11hospitality and it always bites him in
- 1:39:13the end.
- 1:39:15>> I mean, I guess, but there's not even
- 1:39:17[music] an offer here. I mean, it's just
- 1:39:18doing it.
- 1:39:24Maybe it's a compulsion. It has to do
- 1:39:27it. So,
- 1:39:29not necessarily trickery, it's just
- 1:39:32Julia.
- 1:39:34>> Yeah, obviously something went wrong if
- 1:39:35it ended up here with us.
- 1:39:38>> That's true.
- 1:39:42>> All right. What hexes are we going to
- 1:39:43today, boys?
- 1:39:45>> Let's uh
- 1:39:47>> do we want to take a wide birth? Should
- 1:39:48we go G7? Do we think? Just
- 1:39:54>> You want to go that way?
- 1:39:56>> Yeah. And then we can go straight
- 1:39:57[music]
- 1:39:58>> straight north from there.
- 1:40:00>> This is this is quite literally out of
- 1:40:02the way that we're going. London,
- 1:40:05>> Finn and I got it. Uh, cover tennis.
- 1:40:07Don't worry about it. We'll just go
- 1:40:08straight north after this.
- 1:40:11>> We're going to lose a half a day by
- 1:40:12coming down here. But
- 1:40:15>> but we gain half a day in what we can
- 1:40:18survey from up here before we go north.
- 1:40:21>> London, we're all looking at the same
- 1:40:22map.
- 1:40:24Thought I was a scout.
- 1:40:26>> Just thought I was a scout. Sorry, guys.
- 1:40:28Uh, we're putting hands up. Who's Who's
- 1:40:30the scout? No hands up. No, just one.
- 1:40:32Just Yeah,
- 1:40:33>> I'm sorry. The the MS I Augury is the
- 1:40:35scout. If you've forgotten, we have a we
- 1:40:38have a navigational system.
- 1:40:40London. Why do you want to go here?
- 1:40:46>> Damn it. [laughter]
- 1:40:49I just
- 1:40:52I just sleep better up here. I thought
- 1:40:55maybe being around here would put me in
- 1:40:57touch with the Dream Vista again.
- 1:41:02>> Okay,
- 1:41:04>> you're honest. I appreciate
- 1:41:10>> we actually get within range of the
- 1:41:11Corona interfactor.
- 1:41:13>> You'd have to go another hex.
- 1:41:19I don't want to take us too far off
- 1:41:21course, but if we can at least get near
- 1:41:23it, perhaps she'll reach out to me
- 1:41:25again.
- 1:41:28>> We are pretty close, Tins.
- 1:41:32>> Last time we got a bomb in a vial. Who
- 1:41:34knows what she'll bestow upon me this
- 1:41:35time.
- 1:41:37>> Not saying we can't. I just want honesty
- 1:41:39on why we're going where we're going and
- 1:41:41not the scout misleading us for his own
- 1:41:44selfish reasons.
- 1:41:46Okay, that I agree with you, Dennis.
- 1:41:48>> We can go there.
- 1:41:49>> So much bureaucracy in this team. The
- 1:41:52chain of you want the reports to file up
- 1:41:54like
- 1:41:55>> gauntlet. What do you think? Can we
- 1:41:57sacrifice a half day for this?
- 1:42:00>> Yeah, I think it's already a five and a
- 1:42:03half day journey.
- 1:42:05A six day journey
- 1:42:08if
- 1:42:10another four hours is what damn Zelter.
- 1:42:13I don't think we had a chance to begin
- 1:42:14with.
- 1:42:19>> Little bit of time could yield such a
- 1:42:21big reward. We don't know and we're so
- 1:42:24close with
- 1:42:25>> with how little we know about this
- 1:42:27visitor that London has.
- 1:42:31I think
- 1:42:35the possibility of getting some
- 1:42:36information about it is worth half a
- 1:42:38day. I don't know if it's worth more
- 1:42:40than that.
- 1:42:41Good leadership. That's good leadership
- 1:42:43right there, Gauntlet.
- 1:42:47>> An unbiased opinion, I'm sure.
- 1:42:52>> London, this is an order. Dream hard.
- 1:42:58>> Um, maybe an extra glass of wine uh in
- 1:43:02your house then before
- 1:43:05bed down, eh?
- 1:43:09>> Yep. I I'll try my hardest.
- 1:43:14>> What's the watch order here?
- 1:43:17>> London's off tonight.
- 1:43:19>> Yeah. So, Tannis will take the first
- 1:43:20one.
- 1:43:23>> Before we go in, Hilia is going to leave
- 1:43:25a copper coin, a silver coin, and a gold
- 1:43:29coin. Okay.
- 1:43:30>> In the same like random corner.
- 1:43:32>> Okay.
- 1:43:36>> This is like Project Hail Mary. We're
- 1:43:37trying to figure out what like elements
- 1:43:39this thing [laughter] uses.
- 1:43:41>> All right, so we got Tannis on first
- 1:43:43watch. Who's on second watch?
- 1:43:44>> Oops. I'll do second.
- 1:43:45>> Okay. Who's on third?
- 1:43:48What's on third?
- 1:43:49>> Uh Vin again, I guess.
- 1:43:50>> Vin. Okay. Tan. Uh London.
- 1:43:54Well, hold on. I'll get to you in a
- 1:43:56second. So
- 1:43:58Oilia, you notice nothing. T Let me get
- 1:44:01a perception check from Ben, please.
- 1:44:05>> You got it.
- 1:44:09Thank you.
- 1:44:09>> Okay. Um, Tannis,
- 1:44:12you hear
- 1:44:14like a clink clink clink inside the war
- 1:44:17machine.
- 1:44:23Okay.
- 1:44:24Um,
- 1:44:27real quick, the helmet of telepathy lets
- 1:44:29me cast detect [music] thoughts.
- 1:44:31>> Yeah.
- 1:44:32>> Is it a creature I can see?
- 1:44:34>> It can't. You have to be it can't be
- 1:44:37like inside the [music] war machine
- 1:44:38basically,
- 1:44:38>> right? I was going to try to do the same
- 1:44:39thing like can I try to get close to
- 1:44:41where I think it's working and then cast
- 1:44:43detect thoughts but if it's a creature I
- 1:44:44can see that won't do a whole lot of
- 1:44:46good but if it's not blocked by metal
- 1:44:48>> blocked by metal is your air issue right
- 1:44:50[music] now.
- 1:44:51>> Yeah. You don't have to see it but it
- 1:44:52can't be blocked by metal.
- 1:44:53>> That's your issue.
- 1:44:57>> All right.
- 1:45:00I'll tell you when when you go inside,
- 1:45:02if you go inside where you heard the
- 1:45:03noise inside the war machine, you'll see
- 1:45:05that the coins [music] that Hilia
- 1:45:08placed, the gold and the br uh the gold
- 1:45:10and the copper coin are gone. The silver
- 1:45:12coin is what plink clinkedked across uh
- 1:45:15the floor.
- 1:45:17>> Ah [ __ ] this is a devil.
- 1:45:21>> Yeah, as if maybe it hurt when I picked
- 1:45:22it up.
- 1:45:24>> Yeah.
- 1:45:25Damn. All right. Um
- 1:45:28>> Oh, no. Well, what what the the uh
- 1:45:32>> divine sense didn't pick it up.
- 1:45:34>> I have no I have no clue. All right,
- 1:45:38>> I'll stop it, guys.
- 1:45:40>> Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:45:41>> The mystery of the century right now.
- 1:45:45>> This is Cheratoa all over again.
- 1:45:51>> Okay.
- 1:45:52>> No, nothing else except for go wake up
- 1:45:54Vin whenever she's ready.
- 1:45:55>> Yeah.
- 1:45:55>> Or sorry, Hilia, I guess, next. Let her
- 1:45:58know that two of her pieces are missing.
- 1:45:59>> Oh yeah, yeah, you get nothing. You
- 1:46:03notice your pieces are missing. Yeah.
- 1:46:09>> Um but then
- 1:46:12you you [music]
- 1:46:19[music]
- 1:46:20also hear like a very faint like
- 1:46:23scratching noise.
- 1:46:27on the inside of the war machine.
- 1:46:33But here, watch.
- 1:46:37Um, has she heard the noise that like
- 1:46:39Tannis was hearing? No.
- 1:46:43Okay. So, she wouldn't know if it's like
- 1:46:45different or not. Um,
- 1:46:50I mean, she's got nothing better to do.
- 1:46:52She's going to go over and just take a
- 1:46:54look. Nothing.
- 1:46:57Not that you can tell.
- 1:46:59>> We got to start ripping this war machine
- 1:47:01apart bit by bit.
- 1:47:04>> That won't piss it off at all.
- 1:47:06[laughter]
- 1:47:09>> All right, London. You fall asleep.
- 1:47:13>> Yeah.
- 1:47:14>> And you try your [ __ ] best to dream.
- 1:47:18And you what? dream of clouds or dragons
- 1:47:23or whatever else you usually dream
- 1:47:25about, but no visitor,
- 1:47:29>> but she's not close enough.
- 1:47:32>> Or she said all that she has to say to
- 1:47:34you.
- 1:47:36>> You're on a need to know basis,
- 1:47:38[ __ ]
- 1:47:38>> Yeah, right. [laughter]
- 1:47:42>> That's not possible. He's London Rose.
- 1:47:45>> The London Rose.
- 1:47:49All right, you all wake up in the
- 1:47:50morning.
- 1:47:52>> [ __ ]
- 1:47:54Sorry, all I didn't get anything.
- 1:48:00It must have been whatever's in that war
- 1:48:01machine causing all that racket. No
- 1:48:03wonder.
- 1:48:06>> Oh, whatever it was, it cost us 20
- 1:48:08copper and one gold.
- 1:48:10>> Oh, now it's stealing from us, right?
- 1:48:14>> More like
- 1:48:14>> Seems like it's earned its wage.
- 1:48:17Maybe uh Tro's having up a bit of a
- 1:48:19ration next time.
- 1:48:22>> Maybe you'll like it.
- 1:48:24>> I assume we have more chits than we have
- 1:48:25gold. So maybe we'll accept that as
- 1:48:27payment.
- 1:48:28>> Yeah, there is more experimentation to
- 1:48:31occur.
- 1:48:31>> Okay, this is my new favorite part of
- 1:48:35the whole campaign now. I if this
- 1:48:38creature I'm kind of saying this out
- 1:48:39loud so hopefully I can hear, but if
- 1:48:42this creature truly means us no harm and
- 1:48:45does not wish to be found, I'll respect
- 1:48:47that. But
- 1:48:50uh I don't want to find ourselves owing
- 1:48:52a debt that we did not consent to.
- 1:48:59All
- 1:49:03right, let's go up to E7 next.
- 1:49:08That's okay with you, Tennis.
- 1:49:10>> I thought we were going to the
- 1:49:12interfactor today.
- 1:49:14Trying to get closer.
- 1:49:16>> Well, I mean, you already went one hex
- 1:49:18out of the way. Did you want to get
- 1:49:19closer to the
- 1:49:19>> Yeah, I I didn't think
- 1:49:22my understanding is we were just going
- 1:49:23where we are now. just [music]
- 1:49:26>> th this was already one hex out of the
- 1:49:29way that like we should have been at F7
- 1:49:32but London was like if we can do one hex
- 1:49:34the opposite way that's fair
- 1:49:39>> so either E7 or E8
- 1:49:42wherever
- 1:49:43>> E8 had those uh pit demon [music] giant
- 1:49:48>> Yeah it's like the valley of demons
- 1:49:50right
- 1:49:51>> that's it valley of devils
- 1:49:53>> or demons
- 1:49:54>> yeah it was E9.
- 1:49:56>> Oh, was it E9? Oh,
- 1:49:58>> but that is hill. That is hilly hilly
- 1:50:00location.
- 1:50:01>> Then I go up to E7.
- 1:50:02>> Okay.
- 1:50:03>> Yeah.
- 1:50:05>> All right. I think I know that I have
- 1:50:07like [music] a
- 1:50:11cross the sticks thing.
- 1:50:15It's like a little
- 1:50:20We burned a soul coin. So, we have nine
- 1:50:23left.
- 1:50:29>> So, Jay's looking something up. I was
- 1:50:31also a thought process was, do we want
- 1:50:35to push for an extra hour or two today
- 1:50:37to make up for some of that lost time of
- 1:50:38going out of our way, but then I was
- 1:50:41thinking maybe that might upset our
- 1:50:42guest. And then,
- 1:50:45do we want to purposely do that to see
- 1:50:47if we can get some kind of reaction?
- 1:50:49>> Yeah. Well, quick
- 1:50:51>> quick question. Can we do from D8 to C8
- 1:50:55or we got to go D8, D9, C8?
- 1:50:58>> Whoa. Okay. D8
- 1:51:01to C. Yeah. Yeah, you could skirt that
- 1:51:04edge right there.
- 1:51:06>> Okay,
- 1:51:06>> that'll put you down real close to the
- 1:51:08pit of Shamrath, [music] too. You can
- 1:51:09kind of get an idea of what's happening.
- 1:51:12>> Maybe if we just do the normal day and
- 1:51:14then we get to the crypt um
- 1:51:17>> at the end of the
- 1:51:19>> end of tomorrow.
- 1:51:20>> Yeah. My other concern being if we get
- 1:51:22to the crypt there and there's something
- 1:51:23that we got to run from, Yama's going to
- 1:51:25be at her limit.
- 1:51:29So maybe we push an extra hour today,
- 1:51:31have that extra hour of gas tomorrow
- 1:51:33before Yama starts overheating.
- 1:51:41Yeah,
- 1:51:41>> it would [music] be four hours, right,
- 1:51:43to get a whole another hex.
- 1:51:44>> Yeah, it have to be four hours. Half a
- 1:51:46day.
- 1:51:47>> Can we do like [clears throat] an eighth
- 1:51:48of a
- 1:51:50>> so that your war machine isn't
- 1:51:53overheated?
- 1:51:54>> At risk of overheating in case we got to
- 1:51:55run out there away from the crypt.
- 1:51:58>> Sure. Sure.
- 1:52:00>> Sure. Okay. So, that you only want to do
- 1:52:02like an extra hour.
- 1:52:04>> Yeah. Just uh pushing.
- 1:52:06>> Okay. I don't even think I'm going to
- 1:52:08make you roll for that right now.
- 1:52:11Um
- 1:52:13I don't remember, but I think there's
- 1:52:15just there comes a point where you have
- 1:52:16to cross like a small narrow
- 1:52:20sort of creek of the sticks, but you
- 1:52:22have no issues doing it with all the
- 1:52:24mechanics that you have on board,
- 1:52:26especially you also have like a
- 1:52:28mysterious mechanic as well. Um so I
- 1:52:31think that that's going to be fine. Um,
- 1:52:33as you're moving into E7 though,
- 1:52:37uh,
- 1:52:39my scouts,
- 1:52:42whoever is doing that,
- 1:52:44I think everyone will notice it. I think
- 1:52:47everybody notices this. You It It feels
- 1:52:50like the war machine is starting to fall
- 1:52:51apart, right? Where it's like
- 1:52:54You're like, "What the fuck?" As you
- 1:52:56hear the sound of the war machine, it's
- 1:52:58it's The War Machine's not falling
- 1:52:59apart. You're running over something,
- 1:53:02several objects.
- 1:53:04And as you look around,
- 1:53:07you see that all around you are
- 1:53:09thousands of wooden stakes and iron
- 1:53:12markers,
- 1:53:14no more than 1 to 2 feet out of the
- 1:53:16ground, driven into the sand in neat
- 1:53:18rows all around you, as far as you can
- 1:53:20see.
- 1:53:24As you begin to focus,
- 1:53:28you will see that beneath the markers,
- 1:53:31there are thousands of humanoid figures
- 1:53:34buried beneath the sand, leaving only
- 1:53:37their hands, their feet, or their broken
- 1:53:41limbs [music]
- 1:53:42exposed above the ground.
- 1:53:45Their flesh is burned and cracked.
- 1:53:47[music]
- 1:53:48Some hands claw weakly at the ground
- 1:53:50while others hang motionless, their
- 1:53:52fingers twisted and worn away to the
- 1:53:54bone.
- 1:53:57As you look behind you, you will see a
- 1:53:59wide path cut through the field where
- 1:54:02your war machine has passed. The sand is
- 1:54:05churned and stained with blood, littered
- 1:54:07with the broken bones and several
- 1:54:09[music] limbs of these figures with
- 1:54:11their hands sticking out of the
- 1:54:14ground.
- 1:54:20Don't mean to alarm you, but I think
- 1:54:22we're driving through a grave site.
- 1:54:24>> Should we stick to the path here?
- 1:54:27>> If we if if Tannis activates his
- 1:54:30elemental gift and flies up real quick,
- 1:54:32>> can I try to see the quickest way out?
- 1:54:35Even if that's the way we just
- 1:54:41>> 15.
- 1:54:44Yeah, you could see all sides of it.
- 1:54:46I'll say if you fly up high enough, you
- 1:54:48can see all sides of it. It's not that
- 1:54:50big.
- 1:54:51>> Okay.
- 1:54:51>> But the shortest route would be to go
- 1:54:53back where you came and come back
- 1:54:54around. Go around it.
- 1:54:57>> I'll fly back down to the war machine
- 1:55:00and just let everyone know be like, we
- 1:55:01can we should probably turn [music]
- 1:55:03around. It's not that big and we just
- 1:55:04drove through half of it.
- 1:55:09>> Yeah. after
- 1:55:11Bridge of the Forsaken. I'm suspicious
- 1:55:14of something like this.
- 1:55:20Can Tannis uh go off the war machine
- 1:55:23real quick and like approach the nearest
- 1:55:24grave that maybe has the most exposed
- 1:55:27of?
- 1:55:28>> Yeah, there's like a humanoid arm that
- 1:55:30sticks out and it's lashed to this post.
- 1:55:33Um, and the fingers have worn to the
- 1:55:35bone where just the cartilage holds it
- 1:55:37together at this point. Um, and hold on.
- 1:55:40I have more information.
- 1:55:42I closed it.
- 1:55:46Uh, the markers each bear a name written
- 1:55:49in infernal.
- 1:55:53>> Can I Oh, an infernal. Um,
- 1:55:56are the fingers aren't moving or
- 1:55:58anything? They don't look like
- 1:55:59petitioners.
- 1:56:00>> They look like petitioners. Yeah.
- 1:56:01>> [ __ ]
- 1:56:03Well, [ __ ] Um,
- 1:56:05>> damage is done.
- 1:56:07It's not anymore. I guess
- 1:56:14>> I'll say this. If you look back in the
- 1:56:16path of the carnage that you have made,
- 1:56:19there are still moving limbs.
- 1:56:22They're just severed and all [ __ ] up.
- 1:56:27>> As long as we don't kill them,
- 1:56:31shouldn't be that much trouble.
- 1:56:35All right, let's slowly reverse the same
- 1:56:38way we came.
- 1:56:40>> Crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch.
- 1:56:43This is
- 1:56:43>> going to kill them now.
- 1:56:46>> No, you back up without any
- 1:56:49bursts from the sand, a soul released or
- 1:56:52anything like that. It seems fine. It
- 1:56:53You're just torturing these poor people.
- 1:57:00Hey, uh, Scout, how about you let us
- 1:57:01know before we drive through a, um,
- 1:57:04grave site next time there since you're
- 1:57:07always on lookout.
- 1:57:10My 23 passive perception didn't catch
- 1:57:13that one. So, sorry, boys.
- 1:57:16The way the sun reflects off this
- 1:57:19desert, it all looks so hazy. I didn't
- 1:57:22see it in time. I'm sorry.
- 1:57:24So, we're just we're going to have to
- 1:57:25add a day to travel then, huh?
- 1:57:28>> Nah, not that far.
- 1:57:29>> Oh, okay. It's not the whole hex. It's
- 1:57:31just an area.
- 1:57:32>> The area. You can go around it.
- 1:57:39>> More of a flavor. More of a flavor
- 1:57:41encounter than trying to [ __ ] you guys.
- 1:57:45>> Well,
- 1:57:45>> well,
- 1:57:48[laughter]
- 1:57:48>> this may have consequences.
- 1:57:50>> Yeah.
- 1:57:54All right. Uh, you go around it.
- 1:57:58End your day and that hex.
- 1:58:02>> Yep.
- 1:58:03Plus 1 hour.
- 1:58:04>> Plus 1 hour. That's fine.
- 1:58:09Ailia will
- 1:58:12put,
- 1:58:15>> I guess, four copper and four gold in
- 1:58:18the same spot.
- 1:58:19>> Okay.
- 1:58:20Put some rations too. Put some
- 1:58:24>> Put some of the rations. Some of her
- 1:58:25good rations from
- 1:58:29>> Yeah. from the material. Not the permal
- 1:58:32rations.
- 1:58:32>> Okay.
- 1:58:34>> Glass of like a small glass of ale from
- 1:58:37the devil's flask, too. See if this
- 1:58:38thing drinks, you know.
- 1:58:40>> And she als she has lots lots of scraps
- 1:58:43of pieces of paper. So, could she like
- 1:58:45rip off a little corner and
- 1:58:48underneath the coins,
- 1:58:50could you write like hello on it or
- 1:58:53something?
- 1:58:54>> Okay.
- 1:58:56>> Yep. No worries.
- 1:58:59>> All right, you guys.
- 1:59:02>> Go ahead,
- 1:59:03>> guys. I am out of copper. This is an
- 1:59:05[music] emergency.
- 1:59:06>> We're just like buying extra tubes for
- 1:59:08our hamster at this point.
- 1:59:11Uh,
- 1:59:12>> uh, copper is about, uh, all I got in
- 1:59:14terms of currency [music] right now.
- 1:59:16>> I've got seven copper that I've been
- 1:59:18holding on to for some reason.
- 1:59:20>> How about three?
- 1:59:25>> Like two days wait for Balders's Gate,
- 1:59:27Flaming Fist, you know.
- 1:59:30Hold on to that.
- 1:59:35>> Let's see if it likes it.
- 1:59:36>> Yep. Who's going to take and watch?
- 1:59:40>> Will take first again.
- 1:59:41>> Sure. Let me get it.
- 1:59:42>> I'll take one. I'll take one.
- 1:59:44>> Okay.
- 1:59:47>> I'm wasting all these gray perception
- 1:59:49checks to try to find an invisible
- 1:59:52[ __ ] thing.
- 1:59:53>> Uh London, you don't actually hear
- 1:59:55anything. But Tannis, on your first
- 1:59:58uh on your first watch,
- 2:00:01uh
- 2:00:02>> can I actually can I say like I'm
- 2:00:04watching
- 2:00:05>> the presents that Hilia left out for
- 2:00:07this thing?
- 2:00:08>> Yeah, absolutely. Um if you're sitting
- 2:00:11in the cab,
- 2:00:14you hear some like scraping noise out
- 2:00:16the back. Like if you open up the slide,
- 2:00:18[music] you know, the back slide door
- 2:00:20thing, something on the deck back there.
- 2:00:23Little little scratching.
- 2:00:30>> Uh, okay. I'm going to try to test uh
- 2:00:32detect thoughts exactly where I hear the
- 2:00:34scratching coming from.
- 2:00:35>> Make me a
- 2:00:37Well, the door's closed. So, you open
- 2:00:39the door.
- 2:00:40>> Mhm.
- 2:00:41>> Make me a perception check.
- 2:00:45>> Oh, now I have a bad one.
- 2:00:47>> Come on. Use your inspiration. I'll give
- 2:00:49you this.
- 2:00:49>> Yeah. Hell no.
- 2:00:50>> I'll give you this.
- 2:00:54When you turn around, [music]
- 2:00:55you throw open the door to Fox, right?
- 2:00:58As soon as you can,
- 2:01:01you see a little black portal that's
- 2:01:07this this big
- 2:01:10appear and then disappear.
- 2:01:16Turtle.
- 2:01:17>> Yeah, like a little tear in reality.
- 2:01:22It looked like it was full of like
- 2:01:24galaxies and stars. Like it's like that
- 2:01:26blue black, you know?
- 2:01:31Huh?
- 2:01:35All right, Tannis will leave the hatch
- 2:01:37open and just look and just
- 2:01:41he doesn't care if any other war
- 2:01:43machines are rolling up us like right
- 2:01:45now. Like this is his this is his watch.
- 2:01:47>> Main focus. Yeah. You notice nothing
- 2:01:49else for the rest of your watch. Okay.
- 2:01:53>> Um, if uh Hilia, you also do you also
- 2:01:56spend your watch in the cab?
- 2:02:00>> I got a zero, dude. I don't know what
- 2:02:02I'm doing. [laughter]
- 2:02:05>> I think you get up to, you know, you Oh,
- 2:02:09you hear a noise, too, [music] and you
- 2:02:11get up to like go see what's out there.
- 2:02:14And when you come back, all the stuff
- 2:02:15that was that you laid out for this
- 2:02:17thing is gone. All of it.
- 2:02:18>> God damn it.
- 2:02:24All the stuff you laid out is gone. All
- 2:02:25of it. Like the note, the rations, the
- 2:02:28coins, everything.
- 2:02:30>> Wait, all the all the types of coins?
- 2:02:32>> Yeah, everything. He took everything.
- 2:02:44>> Maybe it just likes cleaning up.
- 2:02:48It's like a tidy monster.
- 2:02:52I love this so much. I didn't know this
- 2:02:55was going to cause as much chaos as it
- 2:02:56had. [laughter]
- 2:03:01>> All right, you all wake up.
- 2:03:03>> We're in hell and the piece of equipment
- 2:03:05we're most reliant on
- 2:03:07>> is fixing itself.
- 2:03:10>> Well, Tannis will relay be like there
- 2:03:13there is something here. Unfortunately,
- 2:03:16it seems like it can teleport.
- 2:03:18Uh, I heard a noise. I turned around.
- 2:03:21Couldn't see it quick enough, but I did
- 2:03:23see a portal shut.
- 2:03:27Galaxies on the other side.
- 2:03:30[ __ ] could this thing be?
- 2:03:32>> I don't know, but it can teleport at
- 2:03:35will.
- 2:03:39>> Thank god it's on our side.
- 2:03:43The nine.
- 2:03:46>> How in the nine hells did [music] we
- 2:03:47attract the attention of this thing? I
- 2:03:50mean, teleportation.
- 2:03:52>> This is far more than just a little
- 2:03:53scavenger that forward.
- 2:03:57>> Did I
- 2:04:00get a decent enough look at the galaxies
- 2:04:02on the other side to see if we maybe saw
- 2:04:05something similar in Lulu's vision at
- 2:04:09the base of Mount Celestia? No, it's not
- 2:04:11similar to that. Um, and also it it's
- 2:04:14not like you could this was like a oo
- 2:04:17magical not like you could [music] see
- 2:04:20what was on the other side of the portal
- 2:04:21if that makes sense.
- 2:04:22>> Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Just wondering like
- 2:04:25maybe did we attract when we when we dug
- 2:04:29around in Lulu's brain and
- 2:04:33there Zary and Lulu has a connection but
- 2:04:35maybe Lulu has a connection to the
- 2:04:38heavens still and
- 2:04:41something
- 2:04:43something wants us to succeed.
- 2:04:48Maybe it's not a devil or infernal in
- 2:04:51nature, but maybe it's
- 2:04:55a celestial. I don't know.
- 2:04:58>> I'm just about ready to jettison all our
- 2:05:02false idols and worship this thing as a
- 2:05:04god.
- 2:05:06>> London, be careful with that kind of
- 2:05:08talk.
- 2:05:11>> Really don't want to end up in the wall.
- 2:05:16>> All right. Well, last day we should get
- 2:05:19to the crypts
- 2:05:22at the end of today.
- 2:05:27>> The 88.
- 2:05:29>> Yep.
- 2:05:31>> Still cautiously optimistic.
- 2:05:36>> About the crypt. Yes. I don't know what
- 2:05:39to make of our guests.
- 2:05:45Maybe Atlanthus will know.
- 2:05:49>> So as you mount up August, you're the
- 2:05:53most perceptive. Maybe London is too. Um
- 2:05:56you will see that the bolts that kind of
- 2:05:59bolt down the the the the ground that
- 2:06:02you stand on when you like are in the
- 2:06:03back of the war machine. One of the
- 2:06:06bolts has a little scratched smiley face
- 2:06:10in it.
- 2:06:13Guys, guys, come quick. You have to
- 2:06:16check this out.
- 2:06:19>> Look, I didn't do that. I swear
- 2:06:21>> it looks crude like some they did it
- 2:06:22with a rough tool.
- 2:06:25>> It likes all the things we've been
- 2:06:27giving it.
- 2:06:32Why aren't you guys freaking out?
- 2:06:35[laughter]
- 2:06:35>> I'm speechless.
- 2:06:38>> Yeah, they're all just starrucking and
- 2:06:41awe.
- 2:06:45Yeah. Yeah. I'll take this as a good
- 2:06:47sign.
- 2:06:49>> Must be intelligent. Must be able to
- 2:06:50communicate with us.
- 2:06:54>> We've been trying.
- 2:06:57>> It took the note. It didn't leave one.
- 2:07:00>> Well, it did here.
- 2:07:02>> Didn't respond.
- 2:07:05>> How many more corpus do you have, Oilia?
- 2:07:08Uh,
- 2:07:10she looks around to everyone else.
- 2:07:12>> You can have my three copper
- 2:07:15>> and my three and three.
- 2:07:17>> Now I'm broke.
- 2:07:19>> Yeah, I've got seven. Add to the pile.
- 2:07:25>> Anyone got a WD40?
- 2:07:28It would go hard for this little guy.
- 2:07:32>> Maybe.
- 2:07:32>> And the alchemy drug make WD40.
- 2:07:35[laughter]
- 2:07:35>> Imagine.
- 2:07:38Well, I mean, you can get this thing
- 2:07:39mayonnaise
- 2:07:42oil, right?
- 2:07:44>> Does anybody have we been regularly
- 2:07:47casting detect magic to see if we can
- 2:07:48find this [ __ ] thing every day?
- 2:07:50>> I have hopefully absolutely would have
- 2:07:53been.
- 2:07:53>> Okay, you will notice this magical
- 2:07:55grease on all kinds of stuff in this war
- 2:07:58machine. on the joints on the the axle
- 2:08:02underneath
- 2:08:03this thing. You couldn't give him WD40
- 2:08:06cuz he must have a wealth of this
- 2:08:08magical grease.
- 2:08:11>> Turning on the black light in a hotel
- 2:08:12room.
- 2:08:13>> Yeah.
- 2:08:13>> Yeah.
- 2:08:15>> Yeah. He's been on everything.
- 2:08:18>> Oh, that's disgusting.
- 2:08:20>> Really hope this is magical grease.
- 2:08:23>> Yeah. I guess I'll take a mage hand to
- 2:08:25be safe and draw a smiley face in the
- 2:08:28grease on the side of the cabin and be
- 2:08:31like, "Oh,
- 2:08:34hopefully our relationship remains this
- 2:08:36amicable."
- 2:08:43>> All right.
- 2:08:43>> I can't wait for tomorrow night.
- 2:08:45[laughter]
- 2:08:49Okay. So, I will say I don't have like a
- 2:08:53lot of full details on the pit cuz I
- 2:08:58didn't I didn't actually realize it was
- 2:08:59this close. But I will say you will see
- 2:09:02it in the distance. There is a sheer
- 2:09:04[ __ ] cliff
- 2:09:07and a stream at several streams. like
- 2:09:10you're going over sort of wetlands
- 2:09:13uh as you go from this hex that you're
- 2:09:16in right now. What is this? C something
- 2:09:18D8 into C8. Between those two hexes,
- 2:09:22it's all kind of wet lands as sticks
- 2:09:25water runs
- 2:09:28loosely through the sands here and drops
- 2:09:30off the cliff.
- 2:09:34Um you don't get close enough to the the
- 2:09:37pit to like know what it is unless you
- 2:09:38want to. You can if you want to. I can
- 2:09:41also facilitate that. But I imagine
- 2:09:43you're heading toward the crypt and the
- 2:09:46impai augur is taking you around it. So
- 2:09:50>> yeah. Well, if it's we can always check
- 2:09:52on the way away from the crypt.
- 2:09:56>> Okay. Um I don't think there's any other
- 2:10:00way.
- 2:10:02No, you make your way
- 2:10:05to the cry. You see it almost as soon as
- 2:10:07you enter the hex. So, you didn't really
- 2:10:08actually need that
- 2:10:10extra couple hours cuz it's right on the
- 2:10:12border.
- 2:10:15Um,
- 2:10:17let me tell you what you see.
- 2:10:22Acid smog rolls across the wasteland.
- 2:10:26Gathering around a barren hill of
- 2:10:29blackened stone and red sand. A top the
- 2:10:32hill stand two massive leaning
- 2:10:35monoliths, each rising more than 50 ft
- 2:10:38into the air. Their dark surfaces are
- 2:10:40weathered and ancient like enormous
- 2:10:43tombstones marking [music] a forgotten
- 2:10:45grave.
- 2:10:47Far beyond the hill on the distant
- 2:10:49distant horizon, this is very far away.
- 2:10:51You can still see it. There is a vast
- 2:10:54black storm that churns across the
- 2:10:57wasteland. flashes of crimson lightning
- 2:11:01pulsating deep within it. That's way off
- 2:11:03in the distance. You can see that
- 2:11:06a broad staircase of polished black onx
- 2:11:10climbs the face of the hill, ascending
- 2:11:12from the surrounding sands to a point
- 2:11:14halfway up the slope. At the top of the
- 2:11:17steps rests a massive dark door set into
- 2:11:21the hillside.
- 2:11:23You will see dozens of armored knights
- 2:11:28kneel in motionless reverence before the
- 2:11:31hill, before the monoliths.
- 2:11:34Um, it looks like this. Hold on. Let me
- 2:11:38pull it off.
- 2:11:40Oh, not furnace. Yeah, veresta
- 2:11:45boom.
- 2:11:51Are the kneeling knights alive?
- 2:11:54>> Uh, you want to This is from a distance.
- 2:11:57You can see this.
- 2:11:58>> Okay.
- 2:11:58>> When you guys pull up, what do you want
- 2:12:00to do?
- 2:12:02>> How do you want to pull up?
- 2:12:06>> Yo, call Gnich. Should we go on foot and
- 2:12:09try and get eyes on the situation before
- 2:12:12we pull in?
- 2:12:18get reasonably close. But I think we're
- 2:12:22going to make the main approach on foot.
- 2:12:24>> Okay.
- 2:12:26>> You know, within running distance of
- 2:12:27Yama just in case, but
- 2:12:30>> that's fine.
- 2:12:33>> And uh what of Lulu? Yeah, I was about
- 2:12:35to ask Lulu, how you feeling.
- 2:12:42First of all, this whole time Lulu has
- 2:12:44been so stoked about this little
- 2:12:45invisible guy that she's like, "I want
- 2:12:47to meet him so bad. He's going to be so
- 2:12:50cute. I'm going to love him." Um, but uh
- 2:12:54>> I think Lulu and London are like, "What
- 2:12:56should we name them?"
- 2:12:57>> Exactly. Exactly. [music] Uh but
- 2:13:02I think she feels like she's like,
- 2:13:06>> you know, you guys
- 2:13:09are coming with me on this. I feel like
- 2:13:11I'm supposed to be there. Maybe, maybe
- 2:13:14not. You know, maybe I maybe that's just
- 2:13:16me misreading it. Maybe they just need
- 2:13:18help. But I I feel like I have to be
- 2:13:20there.
- 2:13:31[music]
- 2:13:34>> What do you guys want to do?
- 2:13:36>> Lulu did bring us here. This was
- 2:13:40her thing.
- 2:13:45[music]
- 2:13:45>> Maybe just stay behind us until
- 2:13:47necessarily then. Don't want to put you
- 2:13:49in harm's way.
- 2:13:52>> Okay.
- 2:13:58>> Looking to see if I had something that
- 2:13:59could help, but I don't think I do.
- 2:14:03Do we want to do a little pass without a
- 2:14:05trace gauntlet or
- 2:14:09You didn't.
- 2:14:10>> You didn't.
- 2:14:11>> I don't see what purpose it could serve
- 2:14:13here.
- 2:14:15>> Well, just in case all these knights are
- 2:14:17alive and stop charging us.
- 2:14:19>> Or are we going to hide from them?
- 2:14:25>> Sure.
- 2:14:26So, I mean, keep your resources for now.
- 2:14:29I just
- 2:14:31if if things go south, we're going to
- 2:14:32have to run. I don't think there's
- 2:14:33anywhere to hide around here.
- 2:14:37Um, I'm going to say you park your war
- 2:14:40machine behind a dune that is running
- 2:14:43distance from the edge of the knights.
- 2:14:46That's sounds about what you guys
- 2:14:48[music] were asking for.
- 2:14:49>> Yeah.
- 2:14:50>> So, it's hidden, but it's also within
- 2:14:52distance of monolith. It's still quite a
- 2:14:55ways away from the door, but
- 2:14:58>> but yeah, we don't want to, you know,
- 2:15:00come bearing down on them with the war
- 2:15:01machine.
- 2:15:05All right, guys. So,
- 2:15:07>> I guess we start walking.
- 2:15:09>> Absolutely.
- 2:15:10As you approach, you will notice that
- 2:15:12these knights kneel before the
- 2:15:16monoliths, before the hill. Um, their
- 2:15:19foreheads [music] resting on the pommel
- 2:15:20of their swords.
- 2:15:26>> Yeah. Do we like hear or see like
- 2:15:28respiration or anything that you can
- 2:15:30tell?
- 2:15:31>> Like statues?
- 2:15:32>> Not from this distance. Now, if you want
- 2:15:33to go check it out, you can go check it
- 2:15:35out.
- 2:15:37>> Closer.
- 2:15:38>> Yep. As you get closer, you will see
- 2:15:40that their armor is almost completely
- 2:15:43rusted
- 2:15:45and it is uh
- 2:15:48uh like rusted together as [music] if
- 2:15:50it's like stiff where they where they
- 2:15:52sit.
- 2:15:54And they each wear the tattered and and
- 2:15:58weather torn sand blasted regalia of the
- 2:16:02crusaders.
- 2:16:05As you sort of peek around in the
- 2:16:07helmet, you'll step back for a second
- 2:16:09because there is a skull on the inside.
- 2:16:15Each of these knights is a sort [music]
- 2:16:17of casket
- 2:16:19or a skeleton.
- 2:16:28Hopefully, we getting any uh
- 2:16:32undead vibes from these guys.
- 2:16:36>> Doesn't have to buy any sense.
- 2:16:40>> Not currently. No.
- 2:16:44>> Interesting modifier.
- 2:16:45>> Yeah.
- 2:16:46>> I mean, it lasts for 10 minutes and you
- 2:16:48haven't got to [music] the place yet.
- 2:16:50So, but not right now. You don't sense
- 2:16:53any undead? No.
- 2:16:57>> Uh, Tannis's unclenches then. And we can
- 2:17:00start to walk forward.
- 2:17:03>> Absolutely. As you get closer, Hoffilia,
- 2:17:07does it is it like behind total cover
- 2:17:08you don't get nothing or something?
- 2:17:11>> Um,
- 2:17:13within 60 feet. this you I'll just say
- 2:17:17when you walk up the stairs you will
- 2:17:19immediately get slapped in the face with
- 2:17:22desecration desecration desecration
- 2:17:24desecration and undead undead undead
- 2:17:26every [ __ ] way
- 2:17:30freezes immediately and says this
- 2:17:34is not hollow ground
- 2:17:38there is undead in here lot of undead
- 2:17:43>> think hollow ground could exist in this
- 2:17:45place.
- 2:17:47Look what happened to the Citadel.
- 2:17:50>> Very specifically desecrated [music]
- 2:17:51though.
- 2:17:52>> Yeah.
- 2:17:53>> Yeah. Okay. She'll clarify you. She's
- 2:17:55being poetic. It is desecrated. [music]
- 2:17:58Lots of wind.
- 2:18:01>> At the top of the stairs. You stand
- 2:18:04before a pair of massive basaltt doors.
- 2:18:07Their surface is carved with a relief
- 2:18:09depicting a knight locked in combat with
- 2:18:12a towering devil. The two figures are
- 2:18:15frozen in [music] the midst of a
- 2:18:16desperate clash, each wielding a sword
- 2:18:18wreathed in flame.
- 2:18:20On both sides of the door stand three
- 2:18:23[music] carved knight statues.
- 2:18:26Their forms cut directly into the basalt
- 2:18:28walls. Okay, so there's on either side
- 2:18:30of the door three [music] statues.
- 2:18:33Um, each figure stands at attention,
- 2:18:35armored and solemn with both hands
- 2:18:38resting at top the pommel [music] of a
- 2:18:39sword planted point down before them.
- 2:18:43Above the above
- 2:18:46the carved statues [music]
- 2:18:48are worn lines of text etched into the
- 2:18:50stone.
- 2:18:58We uh blow out the dust.
- 2:19:01Can we read what the text says?
- 2:19:03>> Yep. Says
- 2:19:06the far right statue says, "We heard the
- 2:19:10call of those who could not stand alone.
- 2:19:13We took up arms when others looked away.
- 2:19:16We carried steel where others carried
- 2:19:18fear. The statue beside it. We gathered
- 2:19:22beneath a single banner. We marched
- 2:19:26beneath the light of an angel. We stood
- 2:19:28beside those who believed the impossible
- 2:19:30could be done.
- 2:19:32To the right of the door, we crossed the
- 2:19:35threshold between worlds. We faced the
- 2:19:37chaos of the abyss and the fires of
- 2:19:39hell. We held the line until our names
- 2:19:42were all that remained. And then the
- 2:19:44[music] opposite side of the door. We
- 2:19:46believed our sacrifice would bring an
- 2:19:48end to suffering. We believed our names
- 2:19:51would be remembered with honor. We
- 2:19:53believed our final battle would be our
- 2:19:55last. center of those statues. These are
- 2:19:58reversed. It needs to be where it says
- 2:19:59right, it needs to be left. If you read
- 2:20:01left to right, so these [music] are this
- 2:20:03is wrong. It's far left first and then
- 2:20:06far right on the on the opposite side.
- 2:20:08Um, so this would be the right of the
- 2:20:10door. We believed our sacrifice would
- 2:20:12bring an end to suffering. We believed
- 2:20:14our names would be remembered with
- 2:20:16honor. We believed our final battle
- 2:20:18would be our last. Center one. Let those
- 2:20:21who enter remember why we came. Let
- 2:20:24those who speak our names remember what
- 2:20:26we gave. Let those who walk among us
- 2:20:29remember the truth we carried. And the
- 2:20:31far left one just says or the far right
- 2:20:33one just says we answered the call. Fix
- 2:20:36that.
- 2:20:38>> So just swap left and right in every
- 2:20:40case.
- 2:20:40>> I'm fixing it right now.
- 2:20:42>> It's like far left, center left, left of
- 2:20:44door, right of door, right center, far
- 2:20:47right. That's what I got in in that
- 2:20:49order.
- 2:20:52Such a noble cause. It seems so
- 2:20:56unfitting that they're in tombs [music]
- 2:20:58down here in a bonus.
- 2:21:20And there's two massive stone doors in
- 2:21:23the center.
- 2:21:25A basalt specifically basalt doors with
- 2:21:27the devil and the knight in combat on
- 2:21:31the front of it.
- 2:21:37What's uh the order gauntlet?
- 2:21:45When I encounter doors, I usually knock.
- 2:21:50But
- 2:21:52>> you heard him, Tannis. Go ahead.
- 2:21:57>> Tennis will approach the door. I'll
- 2:21:59>> be the one to do it if
- 2:22:03I
- 2:22:03>> mean,
- 2:22:05if you want to go knock, by all means.
- 2:22:07Not a tennis Sure. August.
- 2:22:10>> No, you knock. No, no, no, no. You
- 2:22:11knock. You knock. You knock. You knock.
- 2:22:13You ditch.
- 2:22:13>> Ding-dong ditch. Sorry. Knock knock.
- 2:22:16Yeah, that's it. [laughter]
- 2:22:18>> All right. Uh, August. August can go
- 2:22:20knock then.
- 2:22:21>> Okay.
- 2:22:22>> Um, yeah. Just simple knock on the door
- 2:22:25like
- 2:22:26>> Yep. Have you ever knocked on a rock
- 2:22:28before?
- 2:22:29>> Yeah.
- 2:22:29>> Yeah. That's what it sounds. That's what
- 2:22:30it sounds like.
- 2:22:37>> All right.
- 2:22:39I will say the door has no visible
- 2:22:41handles, locks, or bolts.
- 2:22:46>> You want me to try pushing it? Got
- 2:22:51>> suppose there's been no answer. Yeah, no
- 2:22:54answer.
- 2:22:57>> She will h if gets close to the door, is
- 2:23:02there any reaction from the gauntlet?
- 2:23:06>> No.
- 2:23:08I mean, she'll try, I guess, pushing
- 2:23:11open the door.
- 2:23:12>> Nothing. You can push with every ounce
- 2:23:14of strength that you have, and it does
- 2:23:16not open.
- 2:23:23>> I know he said Lulu should be careful,
- 2:23:25but
- 2:23:27you think she should call out?
- 2:23:32I was thinking similarly where I think
- 2:23:34it might respond to her rather than any
- 2:23:37of us.
- 2:23:40Okay. She flies up to the door.
- 2:23:43>> Hello, anybody home? She knocks on it
- 2:23:46with her trunk. Nothing happens.
- 2:23:57>> Uh, detect magic.
- 2:23:59>> It is enchanted.
- 2:24:01The doors are enchanted.
- 2:24:04Uh, it's some sort of whatever the
- 2:24:08>> acturation.
- 2:24:09>> Yes.
- 2:24:11>> Where was that handout? I I closed it
- 2:24:14down, but I want to look at Is it
- 2:24:16>> I'll send it I'll send it again.
- 2:24:19Uh, hold on. Let me I have to find it
- 2:24:21now. It's under locations of Verest
- 2:24:25Crypt.
- 2:24:29Those
- 2:24:35who enter, let those who enter remember
- 2:24:38why we came. Those who speak our names
- 2:24:42remember what we gave.
- 2:24:47Maybe we have to be kneeling,
- 2:24:50looking away from the door
- 2:24:53and laying down our swords
- 2:24:57just like they are the statues.
- 2:25:03Good.
- 2:25:26Maybe we have to say the the Hell Rider
- 2:25:30name and say that we remember their the
- 2:25:33fight here.
- 2:25:35Did the crusaders have some sort of
- 2:25:41I don't know rallying [music] call or
- 2:25:43some sort of saying? I don't know.
- 2:25:53I want to say Zariel referred to them
- 2:25:54[music] as like a peasant army, but I
- 2:25:56don't think that's right.
- 2:25:58>> Well, that was Lady El's militia, not
- 2:26:00the crusaders. Oh, but I thought they
- 2:26:03merged, but yeah, good point.
- 2:26:06>> Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, they did kind
- 2:26:08of. You're [music] right.
- 2:26:13>> But there was far more crusaders than
- 2:26:16like Yale's original militia,
- 2:26:19>> right?
- 2:26:20>> Perhaps London was on to something.
- 2:26:22Maybe we should
- 2:26:24>> think we should kneel and bow our heads
- 2:26:26and uh call out to the crusaders and say
- 2:26:29we know [music] that fight.
- 2:26:31Recite the the engravings maybe.
- 2:26:38>> There's no name. Is there like names or
- 2:26:40anything like that engraved? No.
- 2:26:42>> No. Just the [music] just what you see.
- 2:26:44And it's above it's above all the
- 2:26:46statues
- 2:26:47>> in common. It's written in common as
- 2:26:48well. Not infernal.
- 2:26:51>> Let those who enter remember why we
- 2:26:53came. Let those who speak our names
- 2:26:56remember what we gave.
- 2:26:58>> The only one we know here would be
- 2:26:59Atlanteas.
- 2:27:05I mean, I can think of another one, but
- 2:27:06I don't know
- 2:27:10whether or not they're Persona non grata
- 2:27:12here.
- 2:27:14>> Who is that?
- 2:27:15>> Chander.
- 2:27:16>> Isn't he impelled back [music] on uh
- 2:27:18Well, what?
- 2:27:18>> Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like he's
- 2:27:20he might be persona non Grata.
- 2:27:26Uh London's going to go up to the one on
- 2:27:28the left and uh kneel down and look down
- 2:27:32like the other statues are doing.
- 2:27:34>> Yeah.
- 2:27:36>> Does anything happen?
- 2:27:38>> Tennis will Tannis will do the same to
- 2:27:40another just see the shot.
- 2:27:42>> Okay.
- 2:27:43>> Worst case scenario, we look foolish.
- 2:27:45>> Does everybody do that?
- 2:27:49Okay.
- 2:27:49>> Yeah.
- 2:27:51>> There is a faint Very faint bluish sort
- 2:27:56of shimmer on the door, but nothing
- 2:27:58happened. Oh. Oh [ __ ]
- 2:28:07>> Does the door unlock if we stand up and
- 2:28:09try to push it now?
- 2:28:12>> But a faint blue shimmer happens.
- 2:28:14>> Yeah.
- 2:28:19>> Call that to a tennis. Yeah, I guess if
- 2:28:22if we take that petition again and like
- 2:28:24verbalize say what we remember, what we
- 2:28:27saw through others eyes,
- 2:28:31>> Elia will say
- 2:28:32>> something, right?
- 2:28:34>> She'll say, "We seek to honor the brave
- 2:28:36souls led by Zaryo, who ventured into
- 2:28:39the hells on a holy crusade."
- 2:28:43>> You say that out loud?
