21. 0:51right now we stand with a narrow house
22. 0:54competition the New York Times is
23. 0:57projecting that Republicans will take
24. 0:59about 200 24 seats which would give them
25. 1:02a narrow edge of six seats above
26. 1:05Democrats this could be useful for
27. 1:07Republicans to delay other Democratic
28. 1:10priorities like more spending for green
29. 1:13energy projects corporate tax hikes
30. 1:16taking let's say the corporate tax rate
31. 1:18from 21 to 25 or even 28 back to where
32. 1:23it used to be but this house Edge is
33. 1:27really too small to suggest that it
34. 1:31Republicans are going to be able to do
35. 1:33anything meaningful themselves see if
36. 1:36Republicans had a nice Edge in the house
37. 1:39and were able to take the Senate maybe
38. 1:42they could at least send Republican
39. 1:44bills to Joe Biden and then politically
40. 1:47pressure him to sign them or at least
41. 1:50negotiate with them but without
42. 1:52Republicans having full control of
43. 1:53Congress it's unlikely Republicans are
44. 1:56actually going to be able to send any
45. 1:58kind of meaningful legislation that's
46. 2:00not bipartisan over to Biden and that
47. 2:04means very little political pressure on
48. 2:06Biden he got a lot of his policies done
49. 2:09in the first two years so maybe there
50. 2:11wasn't much pressure in the first place
51. 2:13but the Senate is not leaning towards
52. 2:17the Republicans at all in fact so far
53. 2:19Republicans have flipped no seats and
54. 2:21instead Democrats flipped the
55. 2:24Pennsylvania seat Mr Dr Oz lost to John
56. 2:28fetterman and were likely to see that
57. 2:31was a flip seat by the way and we're
58. 2:33likely to see Warnock now beat Herschel
59. 2:36who was a trump endorsed a candidate and
60. 2:39former football star we think that
61. 2:41Georgia might end up going to a December
62. 2:436th runoff but unlike the last time we
63. 2:46had a Georgia runoff on January 5th 2021
64. 2:49remember streaming that one live and
65. 2:51Biden was promising everyone 1400
66. 2:53stimulus checks if they just if they
67. 2:56just voted in that Georgia runoff
68. 2:58election unlike last time the Georgia
69. 3:01election might not actually matter and
70. 3:04that's because Republicans lost that
71. 3:06Pennsylvania seat to Democrats Democrats
72. 3:09are already ahead so the Senate now
73. 3:12needs to see two seats go to Republicans
74. 3:14and at this point that seems unlikely
75. 3:17for Republicans to get Senate control
76. 3:18which is something that's actually very
77. 3:20exciting for Joe Biden because if
78. 3:23Republicans took control of the Senate
79. 3:25they would be able to block Biden
80. 3:27nominees as well as judges under
81. 3:30Republican control but it doesn't look
82. 3:32like the Senate is going to go towards
83. 3:34Republican control in fact predicted the
84. 3:37betting website predicted.org is betting
85. 3:40that the house will go Republican with a
86. 3:43narrow lead at 87 cents and the Senate
87. 3:46will end up in Democratic control with a
88. 3:49lead of 81 cents in the betting markets
89. 3:52roughly percentages
90. 3:54now right now it looks like Congress is
91. 3:57going to end up at a relative standstill
92. 3:59now what's actually remarkable is a lot
93. 4:02of folks thought this was going to be a
94. 4:04big referendum on Joe Biden but he
95. 4:07actually had the best midterm
96. 4:08performance of president in 20 years not
97. 4:13only this but Kevin McCarthy told
98. 4:15everyone hey when you wake up in the
99. 4:17morning Imma Be speaker of the house and
100. 4:19Nancy Pelosi won't be anymore and while
101. 4:21that could still happen we still don't
102. 4:24actually have the answer so certainty
103. 4:26still hasn't come but it doesn't look
104. 4:29like we're gonna have a Mitch McConnell
105. 4:30a majority leader in the Senate and the
106. 4:34only place that really saw Red Wave was
107. 4:37actually under Ron DeSantis who might be
108. 4:40running against Donald Trump in the
109. 4:41future in 2024. Ron DeSantis is the
110. 4:45governor of Florida he was re-elected
111. 4:46and that's one place where three House
112. 4:50Seats were flipped from Democrats to
113. 4:53Republicans and Miami-Dade County a very
114. 4:57liberal County ended up voting for Ron
115. 4:59DeSantis over the Democratic option a
116. 5:03quick breakdown of Ron desantis's
117. 5:05victory speech Ron DeSantis says that
118. 5:07Florida is the place where woke goes to
119. 5:10die he stands for facts versus fear Law
120. 5:14and Order versus rights and crime and
121. 5:16freedom above all a message that really
122. 5:18seemed to resonate with voters in
123. 5:21contrast to what we saw with well Donald
124. 5:24Trump's endorsements Carrie Lake who's
125. 5:27endorsed by Donald Trump is so far
126. 5:29losing although that race isn't over yet
127. 5:31her opportunity to become governor in
128. 5:34Arizona Herschel Walker doesn't look
129. 5:37likely to win who was another Trump in
130. 5:39Dorsey and Democrats flip two
131. 5:41Battleground States for a presidential
132. 5:43election regarding the governors in
133. 5:47those States those Battleground states
134. 5:49are Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and we
135. 5:51saw those Republican Governor seats fly
136. 5:54lip to Democrat which is not the best
137. 5:58showing for Donald Trump though this
138. 6:01video by no means is designed to diss
139. 6:03Donald Trump it's just to suggest

152. 6:39anybody other than perhaps his wife as

166. 7:25has about 30 percent of votes counted so
167. 7:27TBD for Los Angeles a pretty dang
168. 7:30closely watched race throughout the
169. 7:32country especially if an area like La
170. 7:34decides we're so tired of the
171. 7:36homelessness and the problems in LA
172. 7:39let's give a republican the Baton
173. 7:40obviously Gavin newsom's back in there
174. 7:43wasn't really competition for him here
175. 7:44in 2022 compared to the recall where
176. 7:47there was some serious competition
177. 7:48that's when I was running for governor
178. 7:50as well last year and folks
179. 7:52look when it comes to the stock market
180. 7:54the uncertainty of not knowing yet if
181. 7:59you know Republicans are actually going
182. 8:01to take control of the house is
183. 8:03something that is going to probably
184. 8:05frustrate the stock market today and it
185. 8:07means we just get to look forward to CPI
186. 8:09data tomorrow so fingers crossed as we
187. 8:13wait to see are we going to have
188. 8:15gridlock which is often good for stocks
189. 8:18or are Democrats going to maintain full
190. 8:21control which could actually be good for
191. 8:24certain stocks like green energy stocks
192. 8:28nobody knows and I'll tell you there's
193. 8:31nothing the stock market likes or
194. 8:33dislikes more than nobody knows anyway
