- 0:00in this video I'm going to tell you guys
- 0:02the secret to getting better at physics
- 0:04this is how you get close to 100% if not
- 0:07100% now what you hear in this video
- 0:10might not be what you want to hear
- 0:11because it's not the easy way out but I
- 0:13can guarantee you that this works
- 0:15because this is what I did myself and so
- 0:18I want you guys to listen until the end
- 0:19of this video and take my advice into
- 0:21account and execute this advice if you
- 0:25do I can guarantee that your physics is
- 0:27going to improve and you will end up
- 0:28with close to 100 % if not 100% in order
- 0:32to tell you a bit about my story I'm not
- 0:35someone who's naturally good at physics
- 0:37in my opinion but during High School I
- 0:39spent a lot of time to it on it I
- 0:41dedicated a lot of hard work to it and I
- 0:43ended up getting the highest score in my
- 0:45country for as and A2 physics and I also
- 0:47went on to the University of Cambridge
- 0:49to study Natural Sciences I graduated
- 0:51with a first class honors and one of the
- 0:53subjects I studied during that time was
- 0:56physics so in this video I'm going to
- 0:58introduce 13 steps on getting better at
- 1:00physics starting with number one one
- 1:04dedicate a lot of time to it and care
- 1:06about it a lot two rather than learning
- 1:09it for the exam shift your mindset to
- 1:12becoming a person who just knows and
- 1:14understands physics so instead of
- 1:16thinking I am learning this in order to
- 1:18take an exam on it just think I am
- 1:20learning it to become a person who knows
- 1:23this and understands this three physics
- 1:26is a subject that is pure and deep it
- 1:29can't be learned learned just by root
- 1:30memorization unlike some other subjects
- 1:33and it can't be learned quickly it's
- 1:35something that requires a conceptual
- 1:37understanding and for you to use your
- 1:39imagination and for you to understand
- 1:41the links between different topics as a
- 1:44result understanding is extremely
- 1:46important and vital to your knowledge of
- 1:48physics four physics is not fast it's
- 1:52not something that can be crammed or
- 1:53rushed so you need to dedicate a lot of
- 1:56time to it over a long period of time
- 1:59the the reason you need to do this is
- 2:01because you need to allow yourself the
- 2:03time to process the concepts absorb them
- 2:06and allow your brain to digest the
- 2:08information and be able to pull it back
- 2:10to be used five in order to best learn
- 2:14physics it's good to enter something
- 2:15like a meditative state or close to a
- 2:17meditative state where you're extremely
- 2:19focused on the subject the best way to
- 2:22improve your understanding of physics is
- 2:24to sit by yourself in a quiet room with
- 2:26nothing in it only yourself a pen and a
- 2:29piece of paper and the concept that you
- 2:30don't understand then you want to be
- 2:33able to persevere until something that
- 2:35doesn't make sense to you begins to make
- 2:37sense to you and you are able to
- 2:38logically explain it to yourself if you
- 2:41haven't gotten to this point yet don't
- 2:43give up if you feel like you've sat
- 2:45there for like a day and you still don't
- 2:46understand it then go and ask some
- 2:48friends teachers a tutor and consult
- 2:51Google and
- 2:52YouTube Six work on your understanding
- 2:55so always ask yourself why and find
- 2:57yourself the answer as to why as I said
- 3:00before understanding is crucial to
- 3:02physics the limit of your knowledge and
- 3:04the boundary of your skill is determined
- 3:06by the point that you stop asking why so
- 3:09you need to keep asking yourself and
- 3:11with that process you will continue to
- 3:13learn more and more
- 3:15deeply seven be honest with yourself
- 3:19whenever you find yourself thinking I
- 3:21don't know or I'm not sure or you have
- 3:22that tiny feeling that you feel like you
- 3:24could know this more and you don't
- 3:26really understand it you need to focus
- 3:28on that and you need to clear that out
- 3:30of the way so you need to work on it
- 3:32until you are sure and you do know even
- 3:36though a lot of people think oh maybe
- 3:37this won't come up it's not really just
- 3:39about that because remember we're
- 3:41learning it for life and not the exam we
- 3:43want to be able to get to the point
- 3:45where we understand physics fully and
- 3:48purely eight read the textbook from
- 3:51front to back if you can read every
- 3:53single word the more detail that you
- 3:56know it in the better A lot of students
- 3:59will think that they don't want to read
- 4:00the textbook or reading the textbook is
- 4:02a waste of time because a lot of
- 4:03information and it doesn't come up in
- 4:05the exam this is actually true but it's
- 4:08not really enough in order to do really
- 4:11well to know just everything that comes
- 4:13up in the exam we need to know more than
- 4:15what comes up in the exam and what the
- 4:17textbook is useful for is introducing
- 4:20and situating a topic within a wider
- 4:23context so you know how this topic links
- 4:25with the rest of the world and also with
- 4:27other topics there's an introduction and
- 4:29explanation and a conclusion and all of
- 4:31these are necessary for you to be able
- 4:33to better imagine the situation that you
- 4:36want to understand the best way to think
- 4:39about it is to just think about the
- 4:40textbook as a book that you really love
- 4:42to read and keep reading it over and
- 4:45over absorbing all the small details
- 4:48nine understand that physics is a model
- 4:51what I mean by this is the way that
- 4:53physics started was that someone a long
- 4:54time ago asked themselves why does the
- 4:56world work the way it does and then they
- 4:58created an explanation for themselves in
- 5:00order for them to better understand this
- 5:0410 pay close attention to the wording of
- 5:06definitions every single word is there
- 5:09for a reason every single phrase is
- 5:12there for a reason the way that it's
- 5:13ordered and phrased is also imported as
- 5:16I was saying before physics is a
- 5:18man-made model it's not something that
- 5:20exists by itself in nature but it's
- 5:22rather like a projection of what humans
- 5:24think projected onto the nature of
- 5:28reality because of this we need to be
- 5:30able to understand what these
- 5:32definitions are and know the definitions
- 5:33precisely in order for us to be able to
- 5:35speak the same language as the physicist
- 5:38so we can know when they argue something
- 5:41why they are arguing it the way they are
- 5:43based on the definitions that we are
- 5:45using we need to all be using the same
- 5:47definitions 11 use formulas to help you
- 5:51explain formulas describe the
- 5:53mathematical relationship between one
- 5:55thing and another thing so it will tell
- 5:57us when one thing changes how does it
- 5:59affect something else and these are very
- 6:01useful in helping you to be able to
- 6:03explain when this happens what happens
- 6:05to other things 12 practice even though
- 6:10understanding is crucial practice is
- 6:12also equally important you need to
- 6:14practice in order to help your brain to
- 6:16absorb and use the concepts practice
- 6:19drawing the information from your memory
- 6:21because the more often that you do that
- 6:23and the over the longer the period you
- 6:25do that for the more the information is
- 6:28going to sink into your brain and the
- 6:29deeper it's going to go so continue
- 6:32doing that and you will feel like you
- 6:34start to understand it more with
- 6:36practice 13 make sure that you have a
- 6:39strong basis and foundation in math as
- 6:42you get older physics becomes more and
- 6:44more math focused and math-based physics
- 6:47and math are very strongly interlined so
- 6:49if your math is not strong you will
- 6:51start to find that physics becomes
- 6:53difficult similarly having a good
- 6:55foundation in maass will support you to
- 6:58get better at physics
- 7:00those are the end of my 13 steps in
- 7:03order to become better at physics but
- 7:05before this video ends I also wanted to
- 7:07say something else these days the world
- 7:10is a very rushed place we're always
- 7:12getting a lot of information a lot of
- 7:14different content a lot of people trying
- 7:16to grab our attention and everything is
- 7:18very fast we are always trying to do
- 7:21things in as little time as possible and
- 7:23get the most we can as possible but
- 7:26physics is the opposite of that it's a
- 7:28science that is quite a ancient and back
- 7:30when it was created there was no
- 7:32internet and physicists probably just
- 7:33sat around and stared at the sky most of
- 7:36the time so in order to become truly
- 7:39good at physics dedicate yourself to
- 7:41living a slower more patient and
- 7:43peaceful lifestyle eliminate all
- 7:45distractions and at the end of the day
- 7:48give it a lot of love release
- 7:49expectations and study it with pure
- 7:52intentions and that is the secret to
- 7:54getting better at physics when sometimes
- 7:57it might be difficult to put a lot of
- 7:59time in energy into something which
- 8:00you're not sure is going to generate
- 8:02results trust me and have faith by the
- 8:05time you get to the end of it you will
- 8:06be proud of yourself and you will have
- 8:08improved and achieved a lot lastly I
- 8:11also have a year 12 physics cie online
- 8:14course which includes teaching videos by
- 8:17me in which I go through all the topics
- 8:18in the syllabus pass paper question pass
- 8:21by topic and a definitions list P paper
- 8:24questions organized by topic are a lot
- 8:26more helpful to you in your vision
- 8:28compared to poll past papers because you
- 8:30get to repetitively study one topic over
- 8:33and over which helps you to drill in
- 8:35your understanding of that topic rather
- 8:37than skipping from one to another the
- 8:40definitions list is also extremely
- 8:41useful and is exactly as in the mark
- 8:44scheme for CI e the reason this is
- 8:47important is like I said before it's
- 8:49important to know the definitions and
- 8:51the exact wording of them so you can
- 8:53speak the same language as the examiners
- 8:56if you're interested in getting this
- 8:57course DM me at NE proud Academy on
- 9:00Instagram to acquire lastly please like
- 9:03and share this video to get it out to
- 9:04more students leave a comment below if
- 9:06you have any questions or any video
- 9:09suggestions for me to make in the future
