- 0:00And I just noticed that when I start my
- 0:01day with God and I lay it all before
- 0:03him, it just becomes clear and I'm
- 0:06usually able to check off a lot of
- 0:07things because like you said, a lot of
- 0:09times you're like, I got to get this
- 0:10done today and God's like, but do you
- 0:12>> that's not important till next Tuesday.

- 0:17>> You know, because sometimes you're just
- 0:19trying to check all these boxes, not
- 0:22realizing, let me maneuver through this
- 0:24day a little differently so I can be
- 0:26present so that I can spend my time with
- 0:28God.
- 0:29>> And I just noticed that he really does
- 0:31guide and lead and show us how to
- 0:34maneuver through the day when we put him
- 0:36first and seek him first.
- 0:41Heat. Heat.

- 2:19Quantrell Ard from Atlanta, Georgia.
- 2:22>> She's a grief coach. She's a speaker.
- 2:24She's a writer. And she's a mom of three
- 2:27and a wife. Yes.
- 2:29>> So glad to have my girls here again.
- 2:32>> Listen, we coming in hot tonight with
- 2:33this topic. Okay.
- 2:36>> We are talking about the Proverbs 31
- 2:39woman.
- 2:40>> Mythical
- 2:41>> or manageable.
- 2:43>> So, let's talk about it. But we can't
- 2:45really talk about it without actually
- 2:47just laying it out there again. Yes. So,
- 2:50just as a refresher, we're going to read
- 2:52the Proverbs 31 chapter for you and
- 2:56we're going to just soak it all in and
- 2:57then we're going to jump into the
- 2:58conversation.
- 2:59>> Let's do it. Tyena is going to read it
- 3:01for us.
- 3:02>> Okay. So, the part that uh discusses the
- 3:05Proverbs 31 woman as we've come to know
- 3:07her starts at verse 10. Okay. Who can
- 3:11find a virtuous and capable wife? She is
- 3:13more precious than rubies. Her husband
- 3:16can trust her and she will greatly
- 3:17enrich his life. She brings him good,
- 3:20not harm, all the days of her life. She
- 3:22finds wool and fla flax and busily spins
- 3:25it. She is like a merchant's ship
- 3:27bringing her food from afar. She gets up
- 3:29before dawn to prepare breakfast for her
- 3:31household and plans the day's work for
- 3:33her servant girls. She goes to inspect a
- 3:35field and buys it. With her earnings,
- 3:37she plants a vineyard. She is energetic
- 3:39and strong, a hard worker. She makes
- 3:42sure her dealings are profitable. Her
- 3:44lamps burn late into the night. Her
- 3:46hands are busy spinning thread, her
- 3:48fingers twisting fiber. She extends a
- 3:51helping hand to the poor and opens her
- 3:53arms to the needy. She has no fear of
- 3:55winter for her household, for everyone
- 3:57has warm clothes. She makes her own
- 4:00bedspreads. She dresses in fine linen
- 4:02and purple gowns. Her husband is well
- 4:04known at the city gates where he sits
- 4:07with the other civic leaders. She makes
- 4:09belted linen garments and sashes to sell
- 4:11to the merchants. She is clothed with
- 4:14strength and dignity, and she laughs
- 4:15without fear of the future. When she
- 4:18speaks, her words are wise, and she
- 4:20gives instructions with kindness. She
- 4:22carefully watches everything in her
- 4:23household and suffers nothing from
- 4:25laziness. Her children stand and bless
- 4:28her. Her husband praises her. There are
- 4:30many virtuous and capable women in the
- 4:32world, but you surpass them all. Charm
- 4:35is deceptive, and beauty does not last,
- 4:37but a woman who fears the Lord will be
- 4:39greatly praised. Reward her for all she
- 4:42has done. Let her deeds publicly declare
- 4:45her praise.
- 4:46>> Wow. Wow.
- 4:48>> Okay.
- 4:48>> This is a chapter we've heard a lot over
- 4:51the years and it holds different
- 4:53different emotions and feelings. But I
- 4:56want to throw out a question and just
- 4:57ask you all what's one thing that kind
- 4:59of stuck out to you as you just heard
- 5:02that read again. What's something that
- 5:04stuck out to you about this Proverbs 31
- 5:06woman and what how she's described? And
- 5:12when you hear the term Proverbs 31
- 5:14woman,
- 5:15>> what comes to mind?
- 5:19>> Oh boy. Oh wow. That's a loaded
- 5:21question.
- 5:22>> You look like you're ready to jump in.
- 5:24>> Well, there are two things that jump out
- 5:26at me. One, she fears the Lord. So, she
- 5:28knows that she's not doing this by
- 5:30herself.
- 5:30>> Amen. And two, and this may be a little
- 5:34controversial, she got female servants.
- 5:36So, she's not doing this by herself. She
- 5:38got some help. She got help. Um, and for
- 5:41a lot of us, some of us may be blessed
- 5:43to have that help.
- 5:45>> Others, we might be a onewoman show. My
- 5:47God. Um, so those were the main things
- 5:50because I actually read it recently and
- 5:53and and that's what I said. She fears
- 5:54the Lord. So, she knows that that is her
- 5:57strength. That is what allows her to do
- 5:59what she does. And then she also has
- 6:02help.
- 6:02>> Be it in the terms of female servants,
- 6:05be it in the terms of girlfriends, she
- 6:06has help.
- 6:08>> So those are the two main things that
- 6:09stuck out to me about that.
- 6:10>> You know, what I like about what you
- 6:12said is that she had God as her help and
- 6:14then she had like some physical earthly
- 6:17help.
- 6:18>> Yes. Absolutely.
- 6:19>> You need both. You need both.
- 6:21>> Yes. Absolutely.
- 6:22>> All right. Anyone else?
- 6:23>> Yeah. One thing that stood out um to me
- 6:26aside from her early morning
- 6:30So, I read I read the CEV version, and
- 6:34that one actually says that she she
- 6:36wakes up before the sun rises and makes
- 6:39breakfast for her family and her
- 6:41servants.
- 6:42>> And I stopped right there cuz I was
- 6:44like,
- 6:44>> "Wow,
- 6:45>> you have servants and you're feeding
- 6:46them." But that might be a character
- 6:48thing, right? Like she she takes care of
- 6:50those who work for her.
- 6:52>> Um, but the kindness, the her she is she
- 6:55is a woman of wisdom. um where she
- 6:58doesn't speak without thinking and it's
- 7:00I think it says that her advice is with
- 7:03thoughtfulness. So she just does not
- 7:05spit words out.
- 7:07>> She's she's appears calm to me that she
- 7:09thinks before things before saying or
- 7:12doing things. She's just kind of stable.
- 7:16>> Um and lastly is that um
- 7:20>> she doesn't worry.
- 7:21>> She's a planner. Yeah,
- 7:23>> that's good. Now, it's crazy how much
- 7:26she accomplishes and I don't keep my
- 7:28eyes on that. I'll just be honest on
- 7:30that.
- 7:31>> But I'm I am really impressed at how
- 7:34much she she's organized. And I think
- 7:36maybe that can also lend to the worries
- 7:40or the fears like she's not afraid of
- 7:42winter coming because she's planned.
- 7:43She's prepared. She's prepared her
- 7:45children and her family to make sure
- 7:46they have warm clothes.
- 7:49>> Wow.
- 7:50>> Come on. Proverbs 31:1 and learn us
- 7:52something.
- 7:56>> Well,
- 7:57she sounds lovely.
- 7:59>> She does.
- 7:59>> She is lovely.
- 8:00>> She She is lovely. God bless her.
- 8:03>> But it does feel a little unattainable.
- 8:05Like, does she have the same 24 hours in
- 8:07the day that I have
- 8:08>> because it says she's up before the sun
- 8:12>> and her lamps are burning late at night.
- 8:14>> Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:15>> How is she doing all this? You know, and
- 8:17I know and I'm so glad that you
- 8:18mentioned that she has help. Yes, that's
- 8:19something that I learned pretty recently
- 8:21and I was like, "This is making more
- 8:22sense."
- 8:23>> You know, that she has her servant
- 8:25girls. She treats them well and they
- 8:27likely treat her well, too. Right.
- 8:28They're they're giving as good as as she
- 8:31is treating them, right? But I also am
- 8:33like this woman cuz she's
- 8:35entrepreneurial.
- 8:36>> Yes, she is.
- 8:37>> Right. So, and then she's taking care of
- 8:38her husband. Her husband is well
- 8:40respected likely because she's doing
- 8:42such a great job of managing their
- 8:44family and presenting them in such a
- 8:45great way that everyone looks at him
- 8:47like he got it good. Yeah, she's doing
- 8:49what needs to be done. You know how they
- 8:51do.
- 8:52>> Um, and also that she's taking care of
- 8:54the home. So, I don't know. I want to be
- 8:57her. I just don't know if it's possible,
- 8:58>> right?
- 9:02>> You know, when I think of the Proverbs
- 9:0431 woman, unfortunately, I think of how
- 9:07she has been used to weaponize or to uh
- 9:11put a woman in her place. And I fear
- 9:15that uh when we have that as the
- 9:19underlying motivation,
- 9:21>> no woman wants to live up to that
- 9:23standard, especially if it's being
- 9:25weaponized against her.
- 9:26>> And so, how can we shift that narrative?
- 9:30And you know, I was thinking about this
- 9:31recently and I saw online that in some
- 9:36Jewish sects, in some Jewish um areas,
- 9:39uh they read the husband reads this over
- 9:43his wife as the sun sets on Sabbath as a
- 9:46blessing over his wife.
- 9:49>> And I was like, oh,
- 9:50>> okay, that's a completely different
- 9:52perspective than what I thought or what
- 9:55I've heard of the Proverbs 31 woman. So
- 9:58when it is seen as a blessing over you
- 10:01and not something to keep you in line or
- 10:04this unattainable standard, it becomes
- 10:06something you cherish and value.
- 10:09>> So I'm always thinking how can we shift
- 10:11the narrative to something that is, you
- 10:14know, helpful for us, not harmful.
- 10:17>> Right. Right.
- 10:18>> Right.
- 10:19>> Yeah. Absolutely. Um, as I was
- 10:21researching why this was written, one of
- 10:24the things I discovered is that King
- 10:25Solomon is known to write this as a
- 10:28mother's instruction to her son.
- 10:30>> Interesting.
- 10:31>> About the kind of woman he should seek
- 10:34as a wife.
- 10:35>> And so, I don't know that it's actually
- 10:38a description of an actual woman, but
- 10:41these are some of the qualities that you
- 10:43should look for.
- 10:45>> I don't know that all of this is
- 10:46attainable. Correct. for one woman,
- 10:49>> but it's an idealistic list of like some
- 10:52things that you should look for.
- 10:53>> That's good.
- 10:54>> And a wife.
- 10:55>> And so I like that. Um, one of the
- 10:57things that stuck out to me is that
- 10:59she's a blessing to her husband and that
- 11:02>> um, he is successful because of her and
- 11:05that she pushes him. She's supporting
- 11:08him. And I love that
- 11:10>> a wife is seen as more valuable than
- 11:12rubies.
- 11:13>> And we hear all the time, you know, we
- 11:14don't just find rubies.
- 11:16this is something of value and it's
- 11:19something to be sought and it's
- 11:20something that is valued, you know, and
- 11:23so I love that about the description
- 11:25that her good works not only bless her
- 11:28but it blesses her entire family.
- 11:31>> So, how does faith play into
- 11:35this Proverbs 31 woman?
- 11:38>> Cuz we read it.
- 11:40>> I believe it's in the Bible for a
- 11:41reason.
- 11:42>> And it's a list of list. Sometimes it's
- 11:45seen as a list of responsibilities and
- 11:46tasks,
- 11:48>> but I like what you said about, you
- 11:50know, she leans on the Lord. She knows
- 11:52where help comes from, but how has faith
- 11:54played a role in you all as you have
- 11:57>> strived to be the wife that honors God?
- 12:00>> Um, this Proverbs 31 woman, how has
- 12:02faith played a role in that? Cuz we all
- 12:04said it's not possible without God,
- 12:06right? Absolutely. So, what does that
- 12:08look like though for on a daily basis
- 12:09when you're looking at your to-do list
- 12:11and you're like,
- 12:12>> "So,
- 12:14this is not all going to get done,
- 12:16right?
- 12:16>> But what does that look like for you?
- 12:18How does faith play a role for you in
- 12:20balancing it all?
- 12:20>> I think um for me it's been
- 12:24believing that whatever has been placed
- 12:27before me was meant for me to do, which
- 12:29means that I have what it takes to do
- 12:31it.
- 12:31>> Absolutely. This year has been so
- 12:34challenging for me um with my son
- 12:37starting school and um I was trying to
- 12:40be more involved at his school and then
- 12:42I was asked petitioned repeatedly to
- 12:45take over um the PTA at his school and I
- 12:49was I initially said no and then it just
- 12:52kept coming up and then I had to have
- 12:54faith that maybe God had brought that
- 12:56opportunity forward for a reason. Um,
- 12:59but I had that I felt that weight of
- 13:01like, man, that's just one more thing to
- 13:04add to the to-do list, you know. Um, and
- 13:07so when I think about the Proverbs 31
- 13:09woman, she could look at it as like
- 13:12>> so many, she has so many different
- 13:14things to do, so many directions that
- 13:15she's pulled in, and so many people
- 13:17relying on her. That for me is like my
- 13:19big fear is that someone's relying on me
- 13:21and I'm not going to come through for
- 13:22them. That is like my I hate that
- 13:24feeling, right? Um, and so for me, it's
- 13:27a matter of believing that God brought
- 13:29these opportunities to me. God has
- 13:31placed me in certain positions because
- 13:33he knows that I'm capable with his help
- 13:35of handling it.
- 13:36>> Yeah, that's good.
- 13:37>> Amen.
- 13:38>> Um, that's really good.
- 13:39>> I would say this, um, one of the things
- 13:41that as I was reading it and thinking
- 13:43about it, this is not the day in the
- 13:45life of the Proverbs 31 woman,
- 13:46>> right?
- 13:47>> Meaning, this is not a Yeah.
- 13:49>> sprint that you get it all done in a
- 13:5124-hour day.
- 13:53>> This is a marathon. Mhm.
- 13:54>> Um, also in that faith, you have to have
- 13:57grace.
- 13:58>> And what I've realized is that as long
- 14:01as I put it before God and I do the
- 14:04things that God has asked me to do, you
- 14:07will be amazed by the time your day
- 14:09ends. Like I am not a energetic person
- 14:12by day.
- 14:13>> I have four children.
- 14:14>> Yeah.
- 14:15>> The Lord has when I tell you I am up at
- 14:194:30. So I am that woman that rises at
- 14:21night. I am up at 4:30. I work. I don't
- 14:24go to bed till 8:30 or 9:00. But it is
- 14:26amazing how many tasks can get done and
- 14:29it's all and people say how do you do
- 14:31it? It is all God. I don't know because
- 14:34I know physically Vera it's not me.
- 14:37>> It is all God. When I tell you I look
- 14:39back over the things I've accomplished
- 14:40in that day,
- 14:41>> but I start my day with prayer. I start
- 14:43my day with his word. And I'm like,
- 14:45Lord, the day is yours. Equip me with
- 14:47what I need to accomplish for today. So
- 14:50what I don't accomplish for today wasn't
- 14:52meant to be accomplished for today.
- 14:55>> Exactly.
- 14:55>> So that is that's how I give yourself
- 14:58grace in that faith.
- 15:00>> I like I love that faith and grace.
- 15:02>> Yeah. Yeah.
- 15:04>> I I chase after her character. I chase
- 15:07after those things. Um
- 15:10>> Vera, like what you were saying, I think
- 15:12days are unpredictable. Um and I'm also
- 15:15the believer of a to-do list really
- 15:17never gets completed. Yeah.
- 15:19>> Um that's why we carry it on to the next
- 15:21day and then happily cross it off when
- 15:23we when we finally get there. But I
- 15:25chase her her character, her
- 15:28>> um you know to her her husband praises
- 15:31her,
- 15:33>> you know, so she's affirmed. She's
- 15:35affirmed. Her her children adore her.
- 15:37She's getting some affirmation.
- 15:39>> Um but to be a a a compassionate woman
- 15:43who knows what her talents are, she
- 15:46knows what her gifts are. Um, but how
- 15:49she manages that I think speaks to her
- 15:51character. And so I asked God to just
- 15:54when I finally understood what this was
- 15:57all about, I asked God to really give me
- 15:59more of that character. Let me chase
- 16:01that.
- 16:01>> Beautiful.
- 16:02>> That is
- 16:03>> I mean I would say for me faith really
- 16:05helps me to seek God first as the
- 16:10creator and the you know arbiter of my
- 16:13day, right? Um, sometimes I place
- 16:16unrealistic expectations on myself. Yes.
- 16:18>> And you know, when you, like you said,
- 16:20you look down this list and it's like,
- 16:21oh, check, check, check, check, check.
- 16:23And I love a good to-do list.
- 16:25>> But I have to make sure that my
- 16:27priorities are in order. And so faith
- 16:29allows me to say, okay, God, what are
- 16:31the priorities for the day?
- 16:33>> And, you know, like Ver was saying, if
- 16:35it's not done that day, it's not meant
- 16:37to be done. And my response to that is,
- 16:40okay, God, thank you for helping me to
- 16:42get done what I can get done,
- 16:45>> and then help me to set my priorities
- 16:47for the next day. That way, I'm not
- 16:49constantly spinning my wheels. And, you
- 16:51know, there's this this book I read and
- 16:54it was talking about the the importance
- 16:56of understanding what is urgent
- 16:59>> versus what is important. Oh, wow. And
- 17:01all the time if you're letting these
- 17:03little tiny fires pop up, you never get
- 17:05the important things done because you're
- 17:07so busy trying to put out those fires
- 17:09for the urgent things. And so my faith
- 17:11is like, okay, what am I really trying
- 17:14to prioritize in this day? And if I get
- 17:16those things done,
- 17:17>> it's a win. A win is a win.
- 17:19>> That's right, man.
- 17:21>> For the W's.
- 17:23>> For the W.
- 17:24>> Um, for me, faith has I mean, it's
- 17:28everything. You said,
- 17:30>> um, I'm a firm believer in seek ye first
- 17:32the kingdom of God and all these things
- 17:34will be added and I just notice that
- 17:36when I start my day with God and I lay
- 17:38it all before him,
- 17:39>> it just becomes clear and I'm usually
- 17:42able to check off a lot of things cuz
- 17:44like you said, a lot of times you're
- 17:45like, I got to get this done today and
- 17:46God's like, but do you
- 17:48>> that's not important till next Tuesday.
- 17:50Let's cross that off. And I'm like,
- 17:52thank you. Thank you. you know, because
- 17:54sometimes you're just trying to check
- 17:56all these boxes, not realizing, let me
- 17:59maneuver through this day a little
- 18:00differently so I can be present so that
- 18:03I can spend my time with God.
- 18:05>> And I just noticed that he really does
- 18:07guide and lead and show us how to
- 18:09maneuver through the day when we put him
- 18:11first and seek him first.
- 18:14>> Um, one of the things I also noticed as
- 18:17it talks about her getting up early, and
- 18:19you mentioned this, Vera, that you wake
- 18:20up at 4:30.
- 18:21>> I do. And I wake up at 4:32 now. Bless
- 18:26it. Bless it. But I was not always a a
- 18:29morning person. But I feel like as we
- 18:32get older and as more things are put on
- 18:34our plate, we're having to get up early.
- 18:37>> Wake up earlier.
- 18:39>> And find this other Well, okay. Let me
- 18:43not say wake up early.
- 18:44>> I'm like,
- 18:46>> at what age does that happen to you?
- 18:48>> Cuz I'm still trying to get there. I'm
- 18:50still trying to get there, honey. No
- 18:52problem. I'm older than you.
- 18:53>> So, when does that happen? Exactly.
- 18:55>> Maybe it's Maybe it's just me trying to
- 18:56get some quiet time.
- 18:59>> That part
- 19:01is different for everyone.
- 19:02>> That's true.
- 19:02>> Cuz like you said in another episode,
- 19:05you go in the room in the evening and
- 19:07you're like, I need my my little moment.
- 19:10>> And so, maybe it's not always morning,
- 19:12>> but we find our little moment
- 19:14>> to just get ourselves together,
- 19:16decompress. And for me right now, I'm
- 19:19finding it's in the morning like because
- 19:21at night I'm knocked out
- 19:23>> because I'm so tired.
- 19:26I'm tired. I used to be up late at night
- 19:28doing all of these things and now I
- 19:30can't even hang.
- 19:31>> Yeah.
- 19:32>> But as long as you're finding that time
- 19:34>> to just decompress and get your your
- 19:36moment, right?
- 19:38>> So I think that's important. Mhm.
- 19:40>> Um, one other thing I also learned about
- 19:42the Proverbs 31 woman is that some
- 19:45believe that this was a description of
- 19:46an older woman
- 19:48>> who had was a little more seasoned in
- 19:51>> doing what she did.
- 19:53>> And I know a lot of times when we look
- 19:55back on our childhood and we ask, you
- 19:57know, her mom, how did you do it? And
- 19:59they're like,
- 19:59>> I understand that
- 20:00>> you missed out on some struggle years
- 20:03when you were running around as a
- 20:04toddler. And I know some of us can
- 20:06attest that, you know, there were some
- 20:09things that, you know, thank God for
- 20:10grace.
- 20:12>> Amen. Amen.
- 20:13>> Thinking about that, too, cuz I'm like,
- 20:15she doesn't have to drop anybody off at
- 20:17Carine. You know what I'm saying? You
- 20:19see what I'm saying?
- 20:20>> She didn't have to wait an hour for
- 20:21Carline.
- 20:23>> So, it's like we got to think about
- 20:24that, too. Like, dropped them off in
- 20:26>> Correct. Or she had a teacher at home
- 20:29teacher. She didn't have to take them
- 20:30anywhere. So it's like we also have to
- 20:32think about in context of our lives
- 20:34today, let's not set unrealistic
- 20:37standards for ourselves. I don't think
- 20:39that that's what God intended for us to
- 20:41do. Um or for other people to do to us
- 20:44using Proverbs 31, you know. Um and I I
- 20:47thought about something when you said
- 20:48it's written as a list cuz it does say a
- 20:51wife of noble character at the right in
- 20:53my version it said that at the as a
- 20:55heading. So I'm like, okay, yeah,
- 20:57Solomon is saying this is what a mom
- 21:00might say and say, this is what you look
- 21:02for, right?
- 21:03>> Um, there were several things that are
- 21:06obviously not dayto-day. It says she
- 21:09goes out to inspect a field and she buys
- 21:11it. She's not buying a field every day,
- 21:13right? So it just means I think if we
- 21:15look at it symbolically, it's like she's
- 21:17a woman who is meticulous. She's serious
- 21:20about what she does, where she makes her
- 21:22investments, whether it be time or money
- 21:23or whatever. So, I think we can all
- 21:26glean from that symbolically, I will be
- 21:28on top of of my my investments and where
- 21:31I'm placing my time and my money or
- 21:33whatever and not necessarily see it as I
- 21:36have to do all these things because I'm
- 21:37not I'm not sewing bed sheets. I'm not
- 21:40that's not for me. You see what I'm
- 21:41saying? So, we have to think about how
- 21:43does this actually apply to my life in
- 21:462025
- 21:47today.
- 21:48>> Yes. That was one of the questions was,
- 21:50you know, how do we bring this into the
- 21:53modern 2025 lifestyle. You know,
- 21:56>> life looks a little different now than
- 21:58it did when this was written. A lot
- 21:59different.
- 22:00>> Yes.
- 22:01>> And so, how do we bring this into 2025
- 22:04and actually, you know, embrace the
- 22:06qualities and the character
- 22:08>> but still, you know,
- 22:10>> keep it in context and I think you just
- 22:12gave us one key
- 22:14>> is that this is impossible to do all in
- 22:15one day every day.
- 22:18Are there any other takeaways that you
- 22:20pulled that you said, you know what, let
- 22:21me look at this in context and let me
- 22:23break this down to see how this applies
- 22:25to myself in 2025 and our listeners in
- 22:282025. So I broke it down. I remember
- 22:31when I read this, I literally went verse
- 22:33by verse. So I think verse 11 says that
- 22:37the version I read says that her
- 22:39husband's heart she her her husband
- 22:41trusts her with his heart. And I took
- 22:43that to mean if your husband cannot
- 22:46trust you with his heart, then that's a
- 22:47problem in your marriage.
- 22:48>> And I'm not I'm not here to cast
- 22:50dispersions on anybody. What I'm saying
- 22:52is that doesn't mean you and your
- 22:54husband going to see the eye every day.
- 22:55It doesn't mean there won't be
- 22:56disappointments. There won't there won't
- 22:58be issues, but at the end of the day,
- 23:00your husband needs to feel safe with
- 23:01you. Right?
- 23:02>> And I never forget, I read in this book,
- 23:04this pastor said, the Bible is very
- 23:06descriptive about most women. He said,
- 23:08but one thing he realized was that the
- 23:11Bible never describes Delilah. He said,
- 23:13"What the Bible points out is that
- 23:15Samson rested his head in her lap.
- 23:17>> She gave him peace."
- 23:19>> Oh, wow.
- 23:20>> And when I I was like, "Oh."
- 23:22>> And I have taken that into my marriage
- 23:24to say that my husband should feel safe
- 23:26at the end of the day. No matter what we
- 23:28got going on, juggling kids, juggling
- 23:30work,
- 23:31>> his heart should feel safe with me.
- 23:34>> And so I I'm like, that's doable. That's
- 23:36something as a woman you should
- 23:37subscribe to. Okay, she invests in a
- 23:39field and she buys it. That woman works.
- 23:41>> That's right.
- 23:41>> That woman works. So when we get to that
- 23:43verse, I'm like like think about women.
- 23:44We do this. Like that woman works.
- 23:47>> So when that woman says, "Hey, I prepare
- 23:48for the winter time and store up." Who
- 23:51is preparing for kids when it's we know
- 23:53it's going to be snow. So I got to make
- 23:54sure I'm at the grocery store. I got all
- 23:57my food stock. When we had that snow in
- 23:58Huntsville, honey, I was stocked up. I
- 24:00was like, we could be in the house
- 24:03to be We ain't got to leave. We are
- 24:05fully food. We got food. We got clothes.
- 24:07We got shelter. So I think if we look at
- 24:09it in context, we do a lot of these
- 24:12things. Like we really really do. Um her
- 24:15female servants, they may be if you're
- 24:18blessed to have na nannies and maids
- 24:20that or sometimes your girlfriends, hey
- 24:22Gian, I can't pick up the kids. Can I
- 24:24can I help? Can you help me? I'm running
- 24:26late. Do you mind grabbing the kids for
- 24:28me today? That is like if you look at
- 24:30our lives, godly women, we are attaining
- 24:34the things that she talks about. So I'm
- 24:36just like you got to look at it. Give
- 24:38yourself grace. You're doing it.
- 24:40>> All of us are doing wonderful things.
- 24:42>> That's good.
- 24:43>> That's it. That's it.
- 24:44>> I love it. I love that.
- 24:47>> You know, I'll I'll add that as a mom of
- 24:50boys and a girl,
- 24:53>> right? It's important that we don't just
- 24:55lean all of this information toward our
- 24:58daughters or ourselves, right? Like you
- 25:01said, this is instruction. Solomon is
- 25:03saying, his mother is teaching him, this
- 25:05is what you look for. So for me, I'm I'm
- 25:08I'm trying to share this information
- 25:11with both genders because baby, I want
- 25:14you to choose well, right? And then
- 25:16also, I want my daughter to know this is
- 25:19something you can do. It's not
- 25:21attainable. It's not this, you know,
- 25:23horrible scary thing where you're like,
- 25:24"Oh, if I don't make it, I'm not a good
- 25:26wife." No, these are qualities. These
- 25:29are character traits, right? That God
- 25:32can give to you as you grow. And so, I
- 25:35think it's important for both of our
- 25:37children to know that for our sons and
- 25:39our daughters. It's not just something
- 25:42we're giving to our daughters. So,
- 25:43that's what I I'm taking from that for
- 25:45modern day stuff.
- 25:47>> Yes.
- 25:47>> Amen.
- 25:48>> So, good. And you use the key word grow.
- 25:50>> Yes. You know, this isn't day one. We
- 25:53grow as individuals. We grow as wives.
- 25:57Our spouses grow as as husbands.
- 25:59>> This is a process.
- 26:02>> And it takes time. It's day by day. And
- 26:04we're learning. We're growing. But I
- 26:06like what you said. We're doing this. We
- 26:09are doing this.
- 26:12I feel better now.
- 26:16>> Look, I was looking a little nervous in
- 26:17the beginning. I feel good now. Baby
- 26:19now. I feel I feel encouraged.
- 26:21>> Exactly.
- 26:22>> When that when that chapter first got
- 26:24read, we were like, "My
- 26:25>> man,
- 26:26>> but then the Holy Spirit got on up in
- 26:30>> doing a good work."
- 26:32>> This Proverbs 31 conversation, I am so
- 26:36glad that we are having it. It is
- 26:38mythical or manageable. And I hope that
- 26:40you are taking notes and being able to
- 26:43engage with some of your girlfriends
- 26:45that are around you to be able to have
- 26:47this conversation. in November. We are
- 26:50so excited about our vision and dreamers
- 26:53conference coming up and we want you to
- 26:55attend. This is for visionaries and
- 26:58dreamers that want to make their dreams
- 27:01a reality. And we are going to have such
- 27:03an exciting weekend November 7th through
- 27:05the 9th. We have speakers like our own
- 27:07pastor Deblier Snell, Eric Thomas,
- 27:11Tabitha Brown, and John Maxwell. This is
- 27:14definitely an event that you don't want
- 27:17to miss. We want you to register on our
- 27:20website at breathoflife.tv
- 27:23and we want to make sure that you get
- 27:25your spots before they are all gone. But
- 27:27in the meantime, let's get back to girls
- 27:30night in. Can I share another thing that
- 27:33I just thought of? We're talking about
- 27:35bringing this to 2025, sharing it across
- 27:37across both genders.
- 27:39>> I think it says something about husbands
- 27:41as well.
- 27:42>> It does. Right. Towards the end, it's
- 27:44talking about how he praises her.
- 27:47>> He Let her deeds be praised, right? Let
- 27:50him He's in that town square and
- 27:52everybody thinks he's a great guy. It's
- 27:54important for him to be like, "And shout
- 27:55out to my wife."
- 27:57>> Yeah. I I can do my job well because my
- 27:59wife woke up early and cooked for us.
- 28:01Our clothes always look. You see what
- 28:02I'm saying? Those words of affirmation
- 28:04are important. So, I don't think it's
- 28:06just a message for us. I think it's a
- 28:08message for our husbands as well.
- 28:10>> That's right.
- 28:11>> Come on. Let her put some reward. Hello.
- 28:14Be rewarded. Come on. Push present. Come
- 28:16on.
- 28:17>> Hello.
- 28:17>> Wow. Oh, that's good.
- 28:20>> What's one quality that you are striving
- 28:23to develop?
- 28:25>> Um, I know you mentioned chasing after
- 28:27the character, which is really good. And
- 28:29I feel like it
- 28:31>> kind of relieves us a little bit.
- 28:33>> It relieved me.
- 28:34>> It's relieving.
- 28:35>> Yeah. So, when I first I I didn't grow
- 28:38up in the church, per se, right? And so
- 28:41the first time I ever read it, I was
- 28:43already well into my marriage and had
- 28:45children
- 28:46>> and I was in a marriage a couple's
- 28:49group. So the the married women were
- 28:51meeting and I read this and I was like,
- 28:52who is this?
- 28:55>> This is in the Bible. Like this is
- 28:57really in the Bible.
- 28:59>> And it it was it literally was a downer
- 29:02cuz I was like there there is absolutely
- 29:05no way. You know, that was just in the
- 29:06stage of being overwhelmed or whatnot.
- 29:09But reading it at different stages of
- 29:11your life, just reminding yourself, I
- 29:13think, is where God gives you the
- 29:15understanding and the wisdom. 2025, make
- 29:18it relative, is that
- 29:20>> no, no, no, no. I'm I'm not checking off
- 29:22a list. I'm really not. But there's this
- 29:25thing about her
- 29:27>> which I'm drawn to. And so, to answer
- 29:31your question, it is those things. And
- 29:32just to be wise with with my words and
- 29:35to be to think before I speak. And if
- 29:37I'm giving advice, I've prayed about it
- 29:40>> and I've thought about it, you know. So
- 29:42that's what I chase. I feel like
- 29:44everything else will fall into place
- 29:46even in how we rear our children and
- 29:48like you were speaking of how we treat
- 29:50our husband and how safe our husband
- 29:51feels. I feel like if you have
- 29:54>> you're striving for that even if you I
- 29:57don't want to say fall short, but let's
- 29:58say you didn't complete your tasks.
- 30:00>> Everyone around you feels good.
- 30:03>> Everyone is feeling good and safe and
- 30:06secure. That's a win to me.
- 30:08>> Yes.
- 30:08>> So, that's my chase.
- 30:10>> Wow.
- 30:10>> So, I I got to go back to this husband
- 30:13feeling safe.
- 30:14>> Yeah.
- 30:14>> What are the some of the things that you
- 30:16all do to make your husband feel safe?
- 30:20What does that look like?
- 30:22>> Oh,
- 30:23>> this I I saw on social media recently
- 30:26this woman, she gave the three T's. And
- 30:29I'm going be honest with you, I cannot
- 30:30remember the three T's. I remember the
- 30:32two. It was tone and timing. One of the
- 30:35things that she said that has resonated
- 30:37with me is that as soon as my husband
- 30:39comes in, I do not need to nag him about
- 30:42the things that he has done or not done,
- 30:43he forgot to do, or start saying,
- 30:46"You're late. We need to get the kids
- 30:47ready. Why are you doing this?" I need
- 30:48to give that man a minute.
- 30:50>> He has been dealing with the world. He's
- 30:52been fighting with whatever he's been
- 30:54dealing with at his job, and people have
- 30:56come at him.
- 30:57>> And so, I have taken that to heart. M.
- 31:00>> So now what I do is the moment he gets
- 31:02in, hey baby, how are you? I hug him, I
- 31:05kiss him, I let him just get in the door
- 31:09and just unwind and say, hey, I'm here.
- 31:13Hug me. Let me give you that love and
- 31:15affection because the world has beat you
- 31:18literally or figuratively, however you
- 31:20want to say it
- 31:21>> and this is a safe home. Your home is a
- 31:24safe place. So, that's one of the things
- 31:26that I've started literally just in the
- 31:28last couple of weeks, making sure that
- 31:30the moment he gets in, I'm not nagging
- 31:33him about something he forgot to do or
- 31:35something he didn't do or that he's late
- 31:37or he forgot to do this.
- 31:39>> Hey, baby, how was your day? How are
- 31:41you?
- 31:42>> I hug him. I kiss him. I let him know
- 31:44this is safe. Right.
- 31:46>> Right.
- 31:46>> That's good. And the Bible speaks to
- 31:48that thing.
- 31:49>> Touch,
- 31:49>> maybe. So, I can't remember what it is,
- 31:51but life's trying. I remember the two.
- 31:55tongue.
- 31:55>> Yeah, that's good. And I I I remember
- 31:57that Bible verse that says a man would
- 32:00rather live on the rooftops than in the
- 32:02house with a nagging wife. Mercy. Mercy.
- 32:06>> And so that's there for a reason.
- 32:08>> Yeah. No, it's there. And these are
- 32:10biblical things. So, thank you for
- 32:11sharing that.
- 32:12>> Anybody else have one that you can
- 32:15share?
- 32:15>> I think for me it's um I try I love
- 32:20words of affirmation personally, right?
- 32:21And my husband not as much. And so I
- 32:24think earlier in our marriage, I didn't
- 32:26necessarily give them to him as often,
- 32:28but especially after having a child, I
- 32:30realized how much my husband is
- 32:33contributing to um like lessen my load a
- 32:36lot of the times. And and a lot of it is
- 32:39like, yeah, that's his kid too, you
- 32:41know? So it's not like, you know what I
- 32:42mean?
- 32:43>> He's not doing me any favors. Like
- 32:45that's his kid as well. But it doesn't
- 32:47hurt to still say thank you for being
- 32:49there because not all husbands, not all
- 32:52fathers are doing that, you know, and
- 32:54it's just kind. It's just kind to say
- 32:57thank you when someone does something
- 32:58that you appreciate. And so that's
- 33:00something that I I'm trying to do more
- 33:02and more often is just say thank you.
- 33:04And in our household, my husband cooks
- 33:07>> and I know that's a huge blessing
- 33:09every time. And I was about to say
- 33:11that's the one I don't forget. I'll say
- 33:13it twice. I'll say it twice. I'll say
- 33:16thank you when he first gives it to me.
- 33:18I finish it and I'm like and thank you
- 33:19where he gives and God bless you and may
- 33:22all the works of your hands prosper, you
- 33:24know. So it's just thanking him for even
- 33:26just the everyday things that he does so
- 33:28that he knows that it's not taken for
- 33:30granted and I really value and
- 33:31appreciate, you know, even the little
- 33:33things.
- 33:34>> Yeah.
- 33:35>> I try to foster an environment for um
- 33:40him to feel vulnerable
- 33:42>> and um that's without judgment. That's
- 33:45when you make a mistake.
- 33:47>> Um, building building him back up.
- 33:50>> Um, letting him know that I don't expect
- 33:52him to be perfect.
- 33:54>> Oh, wow.
- 33:54>> And when he makes a bad decision, no,
- 33:57not a bad a decision that didn't go fa
- 34:00that's not favorable for the household,
- 34:02we we together sort of assume that that
- 34:07burden of of it not working out. Um, and
- 34:10I I hope that
- 34:14um
- 34:16well, and he does the same thing for me.
- 34:18So, it's not only, you know, it's not
- 34:20only one-sided, you know, it's always
- 34:23reciprocated. And so, that that that's
- 34:25something that I try to do.
- 34:27>> Yeah.
- 34:27>> Safe place. Yeah.
- 34:28>> Yeah.
- 34:28>> That's good. And I also think it's good
- 34:31sometimes to just ask
- 34:33>> what is it that you need to feel safe
- 34:36>> to feel loved and cared for and adored
- 34:40in this relationship in this home. What
- 34:42do you need? Am I missing something?
- 34:45>> Did I overlook something? So I think
- 34:47just asking is also a good way to just
- 34:49say you know what I am invested in your
- 34:53safety. I'm invested in your care.
- 34:56>> Yeah.
- 34:56>> Yeah.
- 34:57>> Because it changes.
- 34:58>> It does. It changes the needs of love
- 35:00language
- 35:00>> but not changes. And so you're right. We
- 35:03do need to ask that question.
- 35:05>> That's good.
- 35:05>> Not assume.
- 35:07>> And it also gives him a chance to
- 35:08reflect and think about it because
- 35:11>> I I can imagine that a lot of men don't.
- 35:14They're probably just moving through
- 35:15their day and doing, you know, and
- 35:16they're not necessarily thinking about
- 35:18what would make me feel safe right now,
- 35:20you know,
- 35:21>> but if you ask the question, then maybe
- 35:23he can take that time and be like, you
- 35:24know what, I am feeling kind of low
- 35:26right now and this would be helpful to
- 35:27me. So, I appreciate that. I'm going to
- 35:29take that.
- 35:30>> Yeah,
- 35:31>> I agree with you ladies. Um, one of the
- 35:33things that I try to do is definitely
- 35:35tone.
- 35:36>> Um, just minding that tone.
- 35:38>> And then also just
- 35:41>> making myself a safe space. He can share
- 35:43his secrets with me. He can share what
- 35:45he's struggling with. He can share his
- 35:47prayer requests.
- 35:48>> He can share his failures and know that
- 35:50I'm going to keep that close to my
- 35:51heart. That's right.
- 35:52>> I'm going to pray over him like nobody's
- 35:54business.
- 35:56And I'm going to make sure that nobody
- 35:58is aware of those weaknesses. I'm going
- 36:00to keep them close to my chest.
- 36:02>> Um I'm not going to share when we're um
- 36:06at odds or having a disagreement. Um we
- 36:09keep that in the house.
- 36:11>> And so right and just keeping that. So
- 36:13yeah, I just think there's so many ways
- 36:15and I'm so glad you brought that up
- 36:17>> because a lot of times again we focus on
- 36:20the the list and there are so many
- 36:23little nuances in there about how she
- 36:25treats her husband and how he views her.
- 36:28>> So let's talk just a little bit briefly
- 36:30about
- 36:30>> the mothering part of it.
- 36:32>> Um how does that play into 2025? How has
- 36:36faith played a role in your mothering
- 36:39and bringing this woman's character into
- 36:42your role as a mom?
- 36:46>> I think everything that we've read about
- 36:49this woman or the concept of this woman
- 36:51says that she's meticulous. She plans.
- 36:53She thinks ahead. And I think that's
- 36:55something that I've tried to do um for
- 36:57my my child is just think about right
- 37:01now cuz right now al often feels very
- 37:03urgent. You know, we got to get the
- 37:05homework done. we got to get, you know,
- 37:06whatever. But it's also, well, what is
- 37:08he going to need going into the next
- 37:10year or what is, you know, what's going
- 37:11to be happening in the next season? Um,
- 37:14I know with my son, he's just very, very
- 37:16energetic. All of the energy all boy,
- 37:20right? And so, I've just been thinking
- 37:22about, okay, yes, he is driving me crazy
- 37:24a little bit, jumping off all of my
- 37:25furniture and things like that, but what
- 37:27is it that he's needing, you know, in
- 37:29this in this moment? And so, I've been
- 37:31planning ahead. Okay, we need to start
- 37:33putting aside money so we can put him
- 37:34maybe into a tumbling class or some sort
- 37:37of obstacle course class so that we can
- 37:39channel that energy and it will help him
- 37:41learn discipline and you know things
- 37:43like that. So just planning ahead and
- 37:45thinking about what will my child what
- 37:47my child needs now but also what will he
- 37:49need in the season that is coming up for
- 37:51him.
- 37:52>> Wow, that foresight and planning that's
- 37:54definitely a huge takeaway from how this
- 37:57woman moved. Um, and I think it's it's
- 38:00just something that kind of comes to you
- 38:02as you get into this mothering groove.
- 38:04You're like, "Okay, I've been caught off
- 38:06guard enough.
- 38:07>> Let me write down the school calendar.
- 38:10Let me set off all the alarms so I don't
- 38:13miss anything." It's almost like you're
- 38:14forced into being organized.
- 38:17>> Some of us are not naturally planners
- 38:20and organizers. We like to wing it and
- 38:22just go by the and that doesn't work.
- 38:25>> Not always does not work long term. the
- 38:28more involved your kids get and they're
- 38:30signing up for all these things. So,
- 38:31it's definitely
- 38:32>> rei it um requires us to rely on God and
- 38:36lean into those gifts and the character
- 38:38that he exhibits.
- 38:39>> Um does anyone else have anything that
- 38:41you've taken away from her that you've
- 38:43brought into your mothering?
- 38:45>> Oo. Um for me, I think of what is taught
- 38:49can be caught.
- 38:50>> Okay. And much of what we see in this
- 38:54passage of scripture is something that
- 38:56can be observable behavior. Wow. Right?
- 38:59So, as I observe my mother walking
- 39:02through the house doing these things, I
- 39:04am now making mental notes, I'm learning
- 39:08how to do this. When I become this wife,
- 39:12this woman. And, you know, I think of
- 39:14again my sons and my daughters, right?
- 39:17I'm I'm trying to show them lead by
- 39:19example. You know, I don't always have
- 39:22to say this, this, and this, but I can
- 39:25show this, right? So again, even the
- 39:28Bible says, "By beholding, we become
- 39:29changed." As you watch, as you observe,
- 39:32then you take those things, tuck them
- 39:34into your little heart pocket, and you
- 39:36can say, "Oh, I have something to draw
- 39:38from when I get to this stage." So
- 39:41that's what I take from that. And we
- 39:43know that often times when you're trying
- 39:45to affect change or behavior, modeling
- 39:48is more important than just speaking
- 39:50about something. So, and we know this
- 39:52like you have little kids, you're like,
- 39:54"When did you pick that up? They heard
- 39:56us or they saw us or you know, even when
- 39:58we weren't talking directly to them or,
- 40:00you know, doing something for them, they
- 40:02are picking up on the things that we're
- 40:03doing." So, modeling is probably, you
- 40:05know, such a huge thing that the
- 40:07Proverbs 31 woman would have done and
- 40:10why her children are also praising her.
- 40:11It does say that her children praise
- 40:13her, you know, so they see it, too.
- 40:15>> Yeah.
- 40:16>> One of the things I wanted to Did we
- 40:18>> Oh, no. Go ahead.
- 40:19>> Okay.
- 40:20>> One of the things I wanted to ask as we
- 40:22get ready to wrap up is to give a woman
- 40:25out there a hack
- 40:27>> that has helped you manage
- 40:31balance
- 40:32>> and figure things out from day to day.
- 40:34>> Maybe it's something that you observed.
- 40:37Maybe it's something that a woman told
- 40:38you that has helped transform your
- 40:42perspective on this that has really
- 40:43helped you.
- 40:44>> But what's one little hack or piece of
- 40:46advice that you can give to a woman that
- 40:48may be watching?
- 40:50>> She's in the trenches. She's feeling a
- 40:51little overwhelmed
- 40:53>> by comparison, by feeling like she's not
- 40:56measuring up. And I feel like we've all
- 40:57been there.
- 40:59>> Um, what would you say to that woman,
- 41:01whether it's a piece of advice or a
- 41:02little hack that has helped you?
- 41:06Mine would come from my own mother.
- 41:09>> Um, I remember this very vividly from
- 41:12childhood. On Sunday, she would start
- 41:16thinking about and pulling together the
- 41:18clothes we would wear the next Sabbath.
- 41:20Wow.
- 41:20>> Cuz she was Yeah.
- 41:22>> For the week,
- 41:22>> for Sabbath for Monday,
- 41:25>> because she was she she took Sabbath
- 41:27very seriously. And my mom dresses,
- 41:29okay? She's serious about her clothes,
- 41:31her kids clothes. and she got that
- 41:33Proverbs 31 thing down when it comes to
- 41:36the way that her family, she's not
- 41:38sewing, but she shops the sales, okay?
- 41:41She launderers her stuff. She's serious
- 41:43about the way that you present yourself
- 41:45in the world. And because she was
- 41:47Sabbath school superintendent, Sabbath
- 41:48school teacher. She my my father did.
- 41:50They were doing all kinds of ministry
- 41:52and stuff. She was like, I'm going to
- 41:53get this done so that I don't get caught
- 41:56unawares Sabbath morning worrying about
- 41:58I can't find her stockings or like
- 42:00whatever. Um, and so that's something
- 42:01that I've been trying to implement. I'm
- 42:03not there, but I'm trying to implement.
- 42:06Um, you know, just preparing ahead. And
- 42:08I've noticed that it does work for me.
- 42:09If I set my gym clothes out on the night
- 42:12before, I'm more likely to get up, put
- 42:14it on, and do the workout. You know, if
- 42:17I put his clothes together on the night
- 42:18before, I don't have to scramble in the
- 42:20morning thinking about what he's going
- 42:21to wear. So, just that I think it's
- 42:24>> we talk it's cliche, but it it really
- 42:26does work.
- 42:27>> Yeah.
- 42:27>> Yeah.
- 42:28>> That's good. One of the things for me
- 42:30is, and this may be a little bit
- 42:32different, learn to say no.
- 42:34>> Oh,
- 42:34>> come on. No, ministry.
- 42:36>> Like,
- 42:36>> we as women are somehow, I don't know if
- 42:39we're taught or we feel like we all got
- 42:41to do it all or we have to say yes, yes,
- 42:42yes, yes, yes.
- 42:44>> Learn to say no. I don't have the
- 42:47bandwidth for this.
- 42:48>> Like, that is one of the things I am
- 42:51getting to. And having four children
- 42:53will teach you, no,
- 42:55>> I I don't have the bandwidth for that.
- 42:57Um, and even with your own children,
- 42:58like you know, I've got an athletic
- 43:00daughter who wants to do this, this is
- 43:02there are this many hours in the day.
- 43:04This is how much money I got.
- 43:06>> No.
- 43:08Pick one. Like, and so I'm learning to
- 43:11to be okay. Cuz when I used to say no,
- 43:13it would hurt. And I would go to my
- 43:15husband, I'm like, she wants to do this
- 43:16or or I really want to help and I can't.
- 43:18And he was like,
- 43:20>> you can't. You just said the words. You
- 43:23can't. So why are you feeling guilty?
- 43:26because you can't. You didn't say no
- 43:28because you didn't want to. You didn't
- 43:30say no because you had the resources and
- 43:32you wanted to do something else with it.
- 43:34You said no because you couldn't.
- 43:37>> So why do you feel guilty? And I take
- 43:40that. So I have learned to say no.
- 43:42>> So that is my
- 43:44>> like take some stuff off your to-do
- 43:47plate cuz a lot of it is probably
- 43:49self-inflicted unfortunately.
- 43:51>> And your kids will be okay.
- 43:53>> They will.
- 43:53>> They will really be okay. They are
- 43:55clothed, fed, and sheltered. They will
- 43:57be okay.
- 43:58>> That's right.
- 43:59>> Yeah,
- 43:59>> that's good.
- 44:01>> Um, my advice would be the first thing
- 44:04is to put your blinders on,
- 44:06>> right? So,
- 44:07>> let's go ahead and silence all the
- 44:09noise.
- 44:10>> Um, and that could be as close as family
- 44:12members or it could even at times be
- 44:15>> parents or in-laws or whatnot. So, just
- 44:16silence it. Put your blinders on.
- 44:19>> Um, and take the time to know who you
- 44:22are,
- 44:23>> right? Um, I I believe I'm not a
- 44:27therapist, but I believe that we parent
- 44:30out of how we were parented. So, the
- 44:32good and the bad,
- 44:33>> whatot, right? And so, if you don't
- 44:35spend that time getting to know who you
- 44:37are and why you do certain things or why
- 44:40you avoid certain things or why you're
- 44:43intimidated by certain things that are
- 44:46influencing you and becoming
- 44:48>> who God really wants you to be, right?
- 44:51And so whether it's therapy, whe whether
- 44:53it's self-help um books, whether it's a
- 44:56small women's group, whatever it is,
- 44:58spend time getting to know who you are
- 45:02>> and then approach this great this great
- 45:05thing that's waiting for you, right?
- 45:07>> Amen. Beautiful.
- 45:08>> So
- 45:09>> very quickly, I think mine is just to be
- 45:11accountable with your time. Mhm.
- 45:13>> Um, you know, one of the things I had to
- 45:15do for myself was to create boundaries
- 45:17around my time.
- 45:18>> And that could help me to say yes or to
- 45:20say no. But when I wasn't accountable
- 45:22for my time, I was finding that I was
- 45:24being run over by everything.
- 45:26>> So, I have to literally have a planner
- 45:29where I block off time. And if I want to
- 45:32have devotion, if I want to have me
- 45:34time, I have to put it on a calendar
- 45:36because it keeps me accountable and it
- 45:39tells everybody else that I have drawn
- 45:41boundaries around my time. Amen.
- 45:43>> So, I like that
- 45:44>> mom hack right there.
- 45:45>> Mhm.
- 45:46>> Man, y'all drop some wisdom. I believe I
- 45:48believe we got some Proverbs 31 women
- 45:51coming right on up on this panel.
- 45:53>> Yes.
- 45:53>> Hallelujah. I feel I feel all right.
- 45:56>> I feel like it's going to be all right.
- 45:58It's going to be all right.
- 45:59>> He's He's getting us there.
- 46:00>> Yeah. and he sees where we are. He knows
- 46:03the gifts that we possess and he is
- 46:05doing something in our lives just like
- 46:07he did for this woman.
- 46:09>> Yep.
- 46:09>> Thank you all for joining us for this
- 46:11amazing conversation. I hope you too
