Full transcript
- 0:07Hey boss. Hey. Sorry we're running late.
- 0:10Beginning to wonder if you were going to
- 0:11show or not.
- 0:12Yeah. Yeah. Got hung up in traffic.
- 0:15Okay. Are you prepared or your pencil
- 0:18here?
- 0:19Um something here.
- 0:23Okay. Are you settled in?
- 0:26Oh, yeah. I'm good. I'm good.
- 0:27Yeah. kind of notice this is a
- 0:29reoccurring
- 0:31uh
- 0:32issue that seems to be you coming in
- 0:34late. You know, at first it was subtle
- 0:37and now it's becoming more and more.
- 0:40Yeah, it was traffic. I was I'm okay.
- 0:43It's all right. Just
- 0:45do your supervision thing. Let's go.
- 0:46But it seems to be occurring week after
- 0:49week. Do you think maybe we need to
- 0:51change the time or something? you know,
- 0:52I got this other job and I'm running out
- 0:54of there on my lunch break to get over
- 0:55here. And
- 0:56well, like I'm saying, we could possibly
- 0:57change the time and do something
- 1:00different so it' be more
- 1:01I don't have any other time. I mean
- 1:03that, you know, we talked about this
- 1:04initially. I told you it's going to be
- 1:07kind of a squeeze in with everything
- 1:09else I was doing and I just I have a lot
- 1:11going on right now. So, I appreciate you
- 1:14and, you know, your generosity and and
- 1:17allowing me to do this and, you know,
- 1:19it's just hang on, my phone's ringing.
- 1:22I turned on vibrate like we talked about
- 1:24last time, but Hello.
- 1:28Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:31No.
- 1:33Okay. No, I told you about that. Uh,
- 1:36yeah. I'm kind of in a meeting right
- 1:37now. I'll have to call you back later.
- 1:38Okay. Bye.
- 1:40Hang on a second. I I got to send this
- 1:42guy a text message real fast.
- 1:48So, go ahead. I'm sorry. I'm going to
- 1:50waste your time.
- 1:51I'm kind of concerned that you Was that
- 1:54a client? Was it an emergency or was
- 1:56that just a
- 1:58um it was an emergency, but it wasn't a
- 2:00client? But it's okay. It's done right
- 2:03now.
- 2:03Okay.
- 2:04Cuz I mean, I don't want to interrupt if
- 2:06there's an emergency. You know, there's
- 2:08someone or something at stake or your
- 2:10child's at school and no one's pick them
- 2:12up or your client, you know, nothing.
- 2:15Okay. Well, then we need to
- 2:17This is our time together. is our time
- 2:19together and your stock broker I mean he
- 2:22can make decisions for you with or
- 2:24without you give him consent to do
- 2:26whatever he needs to do and not
- 2:27interrupt us.
- 2:28We were talking about this stock and I
- 2:30really needed to get rid of it this
- 2:31morning. It was going down in value and
- 2:34but you know I'm here to do supervision.
- 2:36So let's talk about that.
- 2:37Okay. Well, you're here for supervision.
- 2:39I'm glad that you noted that and stated
- 2:42that we're here for solution because
- 2:43that's what we need to be doing and I
- 2:46find ourselves drifting further and
- 2:48further away from that.
- 2:49Uh and that's a little bit of a concern.
- 2:52So, uh,
- 2:54what I want to do is try to focus more
- 2:56on what your role can be to try to be
- 3:00more proactive in the fact that, uh,
- 3:04what's going on in here is about you
- 3:07being a supervisor, being you being a a
- 3:11counselor and helping your clients, not
- 3:14doing other business and stuff. And
- 3:16again, you're texting and stuff like
- 3:18that.
- 3:19Sorry that bother.
- 3:22doesn't bother me. It's just distracting
- 3:23you from Can you tell me what it is I
- 3:26just told you just a second ago? Can you
- 3:28re reflect back to me what I just
- 3:31mentioned?
- 3:31Yeah, you're just you want to make sure
- 3:32that I'm I'm here and involved in the in
- 3:35the supervision process. So, I'm I'm
- 3:38great at multitasking. I got what you're
- 3:40saying
- 3:41about your clients? What What about your
- 3:43clients?
- 3:43Um, they're doing great. Having some
- 3:45great sessions. In fact, I I brought
- 3:47What did I say about your clients,
- 3:49though?
- 3:49What about them? Let's see. While you
- 3:52were texting, I was suggesting that, you
- 3:54know, the purpose of us being here is
- 3:56that I'm supervising you so that you can
- 3:58be an effective
- 3:59counselor.
- 4:01Yeah, but you didn't. When I asked you
- 4:03what I said, that's not what you ref I
- 4:06didn't know you wanted verbatim. I'm
- 4:07sorry.
- 4:08That's where I was headed because I'm
- 4:10trying to point out that your texting is
- 4:13taking you away from what we're really
- 4:15doing here and now. You're not in the
- 4:17here and now.
- 4:18Okay. Well, I'll put this away. That
- 4:20would be very good. I appreciate that.
- 4:22Thanks.
- 4:22And I I mean I want to make it very
- 4:24clear that if it is an emergency, a life
- 4:27emergency, a client emergency, you know,
- 4:30type of thing, by all means, that's an
- 4:32important thing. But when it goes beyond
- 4:34that boundary, then you know, you're
- 4:37you're kind of stepping outside the
- 4:38bounds of supervisor supervising.
- 4:41Uh and and we need to keep it
- 4:44professional within that within that
- 4:46realm. I mean, if if you're stepping
- 4:49those boundaries which we're beginning
- 4:50to find more and more um in the way that
- 4:54you're you're dragging other things into
- 4:56our sessions. You're taking up time of
- 4:58our sessions and have to spend one hour
- 5:00with you
- 5:02um not just one hour in the same room
- 5:04with you. It has to be one hour with you
- 5:06and with your clients, right?
- 5:08Discussing. So, are you prepared? Do you
- 5:10have your
- 5:10your notes and everything you did this
- 5:12week and the clients?
- 5:13I brought some of them. Uh in fact, I
- 5:16brought my laptop. I was going to um get
- 5:18it out. I know I typed up a lot of my
- 5:20notes this week and uh here somewhere.
- 5:24Okay.
- 5:26But you didn't you didn't print any of
- 5:27this stuff out ahead of time or
- 5:30No, I kind of ran out of time.
- 5:33Well, see, putting it up on the laptop
- 5:35is going to take you a good
- 5:36Yeah.
- 5:37five minutes to get things started.
- 5:38I was using it earlier and it's out of
- 5:40power and I didn't bring my charger.
- 5:42Well, what you need to do is work on
- 5:45organization. I think, you know, when I
- 5:47want you to come to come to our
- 5:50meetings, our our sessions, you need to
- 5:52bring hard copies of what's going on as
- 5:56far as records and stuff.
- 5:57We're going to discuss notes. Well,
- 5:59yeah, to begin with, so that way we can
- 6:02focus on that or whatever notes it is
- 6:04that you have
- 6:06that you want to discuss with me in
- 6:08regards to your clients because you're
- 6:10here.
- 6:11Okay.
- 6:12Okay.
