3. 0:23over the last 3 years from fuel cost to
4. 0:25maintenance cost insurance costs and
5. 0:28also my monthly car payment and how much
6. 0:30money I financ to own this beautiful
7. 0:33lovely machine now just as a quick
8. 0:34overview it is a 2018 Audi S5 that I've
9. 0:38owned for 3 years I purchased it at
10. 0:39about 19,000 Mi and it is currently
11. 0:42sitting over 880,000 Mi I do drive a
12. 0:45decent amount watch until the end of
13. 0:47this video you will know every single
14. 0:49dollar sign and amount associated with
15. 0:51owning this car and believe it or not it
16. 0:53might surprise you because on the
17. 0:54internet a lot of people say owning one
18. 0:56of these cars is super duper duper
19. 0:58expensive and I'll let you you be the
20. 1:00judge of that first off fuel costs I do
21. 1:02use the 93 octane premium gas in my Audi
22. 1:06price of this gas is
23. 1:09$4.50 a gallon usually when I go to fuel
24. 1:12up I'm spending somewhere between $45 to
25. 1:15$60 to fill up my tank on average I'm
26. 1:18getting 22.8 m per gallon so you could
27. 1:20do simple math based off of how much you
28. 1:23drive determine how much your monthly
29. 1:25and yearly fuel cost will be I drive a
30. 1:27lot and the 22.8 MI effici
31. 1:30is because 99% of the time I'm in sport
32. 1:33mode and I drive like a jerk and so that
33. 1:35is why my fuel efficiency might not be
34. 1:38the highest Audi does quote that the car
35. 1:40can get up to 27 or 28 m per gallon so
36. 1:43I'm going to put up an estimated fuel
37. 1:45cost depending on gas and how much you
38. 1:48drive on here for per month fuel cost
39. 1:51car payments and finances this car MSRP
40. 1:54is somewhere around $65,000 I purchased
41. 1:57it at $42,000 once the dealer added
42. 1:59their their fees and taxes Etc it was
43. 2:01about $43,500 I had $111,000 from my
44. 2:05Audi A3 which was totaled RP rest rest
45. 2:09in peace rest in peace Audi A3 I had an
46. 2:12accident $7,000 of my own money so I
47. 2:15went into the deal with about $188,000
48. 2:17and I financed the rest at
49. 2:192.99% interest over the span of 60
50. 2:22months I will tell you guys that right
51. 2:24now I owe about $8,000 left on that my
52. 2:27car payment is
53. 2:28$489 a month which sounded like a lot
54. 2:31but nowadays with super high interest
55. 2:33rates and every single car price going
56. 2:35through the roof that actually seems
57. 2:37like a bargain this is the part of the
58. 2:38video you guys have been waiting for the
59. 2:40maintenance costs what are the monthly
60. 2:42maintenance costs to own an Audi S5 I
61. 2:45made a big Excel sheet I took all of the
62. 2:47you know maintenance records and checked
63. 2:49my credit card balances to really make
64. 2:51sure I did not miss anything from me
65. 2:53buying wiper blades to me taking my car
66. 2:55in for oil changes this figure does
67. 2:57include parts mechanic labor taxes from
68. 3:01the service appointments and yearly
69. 3:02inspections that are mandatory for
70. 3:04living in the state of PA I spent a
71. 3:06total of $
72. 3:086,841 64 on maintenance over the last 37
73. 3:12months I included the month of September
74. 3:14since I did no maintenance in September
75. 3:16that comes out to
76. 3:19$184.99 a month for maintenance and it
77. 3:22is a good idea if you're going to own
78. 3:24one of these cars to save up $100 or
79. 3:26$200 a month for maintenance doesn't
80. 3:28mean that every month you're spending
81. 3:29money it just means that when the time
82. 3:31comes to actually do something like
83. 3:33change the tires change the brakes go in
84. 3:36for an oil changer and inspection you
85. 3:37have money saved up but wait I did a
86. 3:39different calculation for all of you
87. 3:41guys who are renters who are going to go
88. 3:43do your own oil changes change your own
89. 3:45tires maybe you have a garage of your
90. 3:47own I think that you would probably be
91. 3:50out maybe $3,000 in a three-year time
92. 3:53period Max $4,000 if you had the same
93. 3:55type of driver experience that I did and
94. 3:58also keep in mind I put a a lot of miles
95. 4:00on my car so if you're putting on half
96. 4:02the amount of mileage on your car you
97. 4:04need less oil changes you need less
98. 4:06maintenance on this vehicle so keep that
99. 4:08in mind cue the soulless Toyota Camry
100. 4:10driver in the comment section telling
101. 4:12about their $60 month maintenance cost
102. 4:14as if we cared or telling us to get a
103. 4:16Lexus because this is a small price to
104. 4:18pay to own such a beautiful machine I
105. 4:21don't find squirreling away $200 in
106. 4:23month on this car to be a big expense
107. 4:25for me because I'm making I don't know
108. 4:28$180,000 a year guys something like that
109. 4:30so for me it's a small price to pay to
110. 4:32run this car but if you are broke
111. 4:34college student this is your first car
112. 4:35out of high school or something like
113. 4:37that and you got to rub together two
114. 4:38pennies no I don't think owning an Audi
115. 4:40S5 even an older model is a good idea
116. 4:43for you unless you're willing to spend
117. 4:45some money so that is enough for
118. 4:46maintenance next up is Insurance costs

135. 5:20can earn if you are a young guy and this
136. 5:22Audi S5 is your first car or if you have
137. 5:24a whole bunch of speeding tickets you
138. 5:26will pay out the for your insurance in
139. 5:28the past 3 years I spent
140. 5:31$452 33 on insurance this averages out
141. 5:34to
142. 5:35$12.56 a month I will also tell you that
143. 5:38insurance rates have been trending up as
144. 5:40a whole over the last few years you
145. 5:42could probably save some money with your
146. 5:44insurance company by going with some
147. 5:45like lower cost insurance brand getting
148. 5:47discounts safe driver discounts etc etc
149. 5:50so depreciation costs in the first two
150. 5:52years this car went from about $65,000
151. 5:55to
152. 5:56$42,000 with one owner who put 19,000
153. 5:59miles on it so my buddy is a dealer he
154. 6:01ran my VIN now granted this was a month
155. 6:03or two ago with less mileage he said
156. 6:05that despite the high miles my car is
157. 6:08still worth $35,000 now of time of
158. 6:10recording this video Let's just say it's
159. 6:12worth $30,000 you know as a pure cut me
160. 6:15not over exaggerating my car's price so
161. 6:17for the purpose of this video I'm saying
162. 6:19that over the last 3 years I estimated
163. 6:21that my depreciation is about $4,000 a
164. 6:24year appreciation starts up here and
165. 6:26then it tapers off and over the next few
166. 6:28years that appreciation number will go
167. 6:30down even less and less and less and if
168. 6:33you guys want an example of how these
169. 6:34cars depreciate look at some used S5s R
170. 6:37S5s right now since the S5 is sportier
171. 6:40it does keep its value a little bit
172. 6:41better than the Bas a model I hope this
