- 0:00The real cause of tinnitus is not coming
- 0:03from your ears. If you have tinnitus and
- 0:06you've been to the doctor and they told
- 0:08you that nothing can be done,
- 0:11>> [music]
- 0:11>> I have some good news for you. That is
- 0:13absolutely not true. There is something
- 0:14that can be done about it, but the
- 0:16reason why a lot of medical
- 0:17professionals are not giving you this
- 0:18answer I'm going to share with you is
- 0:19simply because
- 0:20>> [music]
- 0:21>> they don't go into the area of
- 0:22nutrition. They focus mainly on medicine
- 0:25and managing [music] symptoms with
- 0:26medication. And what I'm going to share
- 0:28with you today is more of a natural
- 0:30thing. Tinnitus does not come from your
- 0:34ear. Here's your ear and then we have
- 0:36the inner part of the ear.
- 0:38What they've done in the past to try to
- 0:40solve ringing in the ear, tinnitus, is
- 0:43they cut the auditory nerve. And what
- 0:45they found was pretty depressing. The
- 0:48ringing continues. But of course, if you
- 0:51cut the auditory nerve, they go deaf.
- 0:52The actual ringing in the ear is a
- 0:55phantom sound in the brainstem, but not
- 0:58in the inner ear. Inside the inner ear,
- 1:00you have a very tiny, but very powerful
- 1:04battery that is actually powering the
- 1:08inner ear. And it just so happens the
- 1:10inside of the ear has the highest energy
- 1:13demand tissue of any tissue in the
- 1:16entire body. So, the inner ear requires
- 1:18a tremendous amount of energy to work,
- 1:20okay? That's number one. It literally
- 1:22needs 150 mV to power the inner ear. And
- 1:26the problem is there's not a backup
- 1:27system of energy. So, it really depends
- 1:31on this large amount of energy for you
- 1:34to hear and also to prevent ringing.
- 1:36It's going to pull energy from the
- 1:38bloodstream. So, if there's any problem
- 1:40in the bloodstream with fuel,
- 1:42it can show up in this inner ear. When
- 1:44the energy in the inner ear drops, you
- 1:47would think that now we're going to
- 1:49actually have less hearing initially.
- 1:52That's not what happens. Your brain will
- 1:54now compensate. I'm talking about the
- 1:56brain stem by turning up the volume. Not
- 2:00actual sound, but more of a phantom
- 2:02noise. That's not an actual sound. It's
- 2:05just something that you perceive. And
- 2:07it's like you talking into a microphone
- 2:09with the gain turned up, you're going to
- 2:11hear the static noise or hissing or a
- 2:13buzzing. That's what tinnitus really is.
- 2:16It's the brain compensating because
- 2:19there's not enough power supply in the
- 2:21inner ear. Compounding on top of that,
- 2:23we also have something else happening.
- 2:24When the brain over compensates and
- 2:26turns up the gain,
- 2:28normally what happens is you have a
- 2:30built-in brake pad that's supposed to
- 2:33keep it normalized. That's called GABA.
- 2:36GABA is the brakes of the brain. And it
- 2:39just so happens that there's something
- 2:41that occurs that not only shuts the
- 2:43power supply off in the inner ear, but
- 2:46also at the same time shuts down the
- 2:48brakes causing this problem. And that is
- 2:52a deficiency of B1. B1 not only powers
- 2:57the energy into this battery, but it
- 3:00also helps make GABA. It helps keep GABA
- 3:05working. It helps the brake pads work in
- 3:07the brain. This is why when you go to
- 3:09sleep at night and your brain is racing
- 3:12with thoughts,
- 3:13vitamin B1 is the antidote to that. It
- 3:16brings down that chatter. B1 also is the
- 3:19spark plug for energy in the
- 3:22mitochondria. Especially those parts of
- 3:24the body that require a lot of energy,
- 3:27like the inner ear. Like the retina for
- 3:29example in diabetes. Another tissue that
- 3:31requires a lot of energy and it's also
- 3:34usually deficient in B1. That's why
- 3:36people with diabetes have retina
- 3:38problems. And the same thing with nerve
- 3:40problems, peripheral neuropathy in the
- 3:41bottom of the feet. That's a B1
- 3:43deficiency as well. So, in a very severe
- 3:46B1 deficiency called beriberi, one of
- 3:50the early symptoms is tinnitus. There's
- 3:53been studies that show that people with
- 3:54beriberi and tinnitus actually can
- 3:56reverse tinnitus by taking B1. It's not
- 4:00some magic remedy that no one
- 4:02understands how it works. It's part of
- 4:05your biochemistry. You need B1 in the
- 4:08various energy pathways in the
- 4:10mitochondria. Now, here's some mistakes
- 4:12that people make when they take B1. They
- 4:14take the wrong form. They'll take
- 4:16thiamine HCL. This will not work because
- 4:20it's not going to penetrate through the
- 4:22blood-brain barrier and into the brain
- 4:24stem. Also, the wrong form. Now, in some
- 4:28past videos, I recommended this for
- 4:30tinnitus. And until recently, I didn't
- 4:32realize something. Benfotiamine does not
- 4:35cross the blood-brain barrier even
- 4:37though it's fat-soluble. The correct
- 4:39form of B1 that gets into the brain stem
- 4:42because it crosses the blood-brain
- 4:44barrier is called allithiamine, and the
- 4:47origin is from garlic. And if someone
- 4:49has very severe ringing in the ears,
- 4:52they're going to need more of a
- 4:52therapeutic dosage of B1.
- 4:56And I would recommend taking 50 mg
- 4:59three, maybe four times a day. Now, just
- 5:02think about this for a second. The RDA
- 5:04for B1 is less than 2 mg. It's
- 5:08ridiculous. The more refined sugar and
- 5:12starches a person consumes, the more B1
- 5:15they need to metabolize
- 5:18that fuel. And I'm also talking about
- 5:20the hidden carbohydrates as bread,
- 5:22pasta, cereal, crackers, biscuits,
- 5:24waffles, pancakes.
- 5:26But if you look at the label, they add
- 5:29back in there B1, don't they? But what
- 5:31type do they add in? They add thiamine
- 5:34hydrochloride. So, in other words, a lot
- 5:36of people are walking around with a B1
- 5:37deficiency, and they don't even know it.
- 5:39Diabetics have been known to have a
- 5:40pretty severe B1 deficiency. In fact, in
- 5:43one study I found that your risk for
- 5:45tinnitus goes up by six times
- 5:49if you are a diabetic. Now, why would
- 5:51that be? Because what is diabetes? It's
- 5:54a disease of too much sugar in the body.
- 5:57And too much sugar eats up your B1. The
- 5:59same thing with alcohol. Alcohol also
- 6:01eats up your B1 and creates
- 6:03deficiencies. So, a lot of people ask
- 6:06me, what supplements do I recommend?
- 6:08Now, of course, I'm not biased of my own
- 6:10high-quality supplement line, but if you
- 6:12go to Amazon and type Dr. Berg
- 6:13supplements,
- 6:14you'll find more information. Certain
- 6:16medications also deplete B1. Antacids
- 6:20like PPIs or metformin, certain
- 6:23antibiotics,
- 6:24people that are under chronic stress
- 6:27need tremendous amounts of B1. And also,
- 6:31there's a virus that can go in and out
- 6:34of remission. It's called herpes simplex
- 6:37virus, which also happens to attack the
- 6:40inner ear. So, the correlation between
- 6:43this virus
- 6:44and ear problems including tinnitus. And
- 6:47so, if you have this virus that's in
- 6:49remission, it's not bothering you, but
- 6:51then you go through stress and it comes
- 6:53out of remission, it can start creating
- 6:55damage in the inner ear. This is why
- 6:57tinnitus can come and go depending on
- 6:59the stress level. If you do research on
- 7:02the literature on B1 and tinnitus,
- 7:05you'll find mixed reviews. And I think
- 7:07the reason why is many times the studies
- 7:09will be using the wrong form of B1. Or,
- 7:12and this is
- 7:13probably the big reason, a magnesium
- 7:16deficiency. So many people are deficient
- 7:18in magnesium. They don't even know it.
- 7:20It's very hard to test for it because
- 7:22most of the magnesium is deep in the
- 7:23cell. So, if a person is deficient in
- 7:25magnesium, they can take all the B1,
- 7:27even in the correct form they want, but
- 7:29it won't work because the biochemistry
- 7:31of B1 is dependent on magnesium. And so,
- 7:34this is another remedy I would recommend
- 7:36if you have tinnitus. Take magnesium
- 7:39glycinate with your allithiamine. I have
- 7:42a free download that I want to give to
- 7:44you. This free download is my daily
- 7:47routine and a checklist. This is a
- 7:48routine that I use every day to feel
- 7:50like I'm 18 years old, even though I'm
- 7:5260 years old, and I want to give it to
- 7:54you for free. And so, there's a little
- 7:55link down below, click it, and
- 7:57definitely download that. So, now that
- 7:59you know the protocol for tinnitus,
- 8:01I have another video on vitamin B1 that
- 8:04goes beyond the symptom that's
- 8:07fascinating. You should watch it. I put
- 8:09it up right here. Check it out.
