- 0:04Hello.
- 0:05Who is the rarest type of person in the
- 0:07world?
- 0:09Well, it's someone whose happiness isn't
- 0:11tied to material goods
- 0:14because those things eventually fade.
- 0:16But it's the way that they make other
- 0:17people feel. And people remember how you
- 0:20make them feel because those feelings
- 0:22last forever.
- 0:23You find joy not in the things people
- 0:26give you, but seeing a smile on their
- 0:28faces
- 0:29because of you.
- 0:31You give because you genuinely care
- 0:32about the person and not because you
- 0:34expect something in return. You notice
- 0:36when someone needs help and [music]
- 0:38without a second thought
- 0:40and without waiting to be asked, you
- 0:42make the effort to make the other person
- 0:45feel supported.
- 0:47Uh, even through the smallest of
- 0:49gestures. You're humble and hardworking
- 0:52and you know how to speak up for your
- 0:54own needs. And you make the world a
- 0:56better place.
- 0:58You understand that
- 1:00just by doing the right thing isn't
- 1:02always the same as doing what everyone
- 1:04expects of you.
- 1:06Just because something is legal doesn't
- 1:08always make it moral and just because
- 1:10you can do something doesn't always mean
- 1:12you should. But that's a separate topic
- 1:14for another time.
- 1:16You can also understand that being
- 1:18selfless doesn't does not mean treating
- 1:21yourself as worthless. You can be kind
- 1:23without being a people [music] pleaser,
- 1:26generous without giving everything you
- 1:28have, and forgiving without allowing
- 1:30someone to disrespect you repeatedly.
- 1:34When someone hurts you, you're willing
- 1:36to ask why
- 1:37>> [music]
- 1:37>> and try to understand their intentions,
- 1:39but when the disrespect continues, you
- 1:42know when it's time to walk away. You
- 1:45understand
- 1:46>> [music]
- 1:46>> that you have a good heart without
- 1:48allowing everyone to access it.
- 1:50If you're this kind of person, remember
- 1:53that
- 1:54>> [music]
- 1:54>> your kindness is a gift. And if you have
- 1:57someone like this in your life, cherish
- 2:00those people, appreciate them, and don't
- 2:03turn their generosity into your
- 2:05entitlement. [music]
- 2:05And don't assume that just because
- 2:08they're willing to give, you don't need
- 2:11to give anything back in return.
- 2:13Sometimes the people who do the most for
- 2:15others are the ones who who need someone
- 2:18to look out for them, too. A parting
- 2:20note is that the most meaningful gifts
- 2:23are not always the things you can hold
- 2:25in your hands, but the feelings you
- 2:27leave in someone else's heart.
- 2:30Again, material things eventually fade,
- 2:33but the way you make them feel can stay
- 2:36with them
- 2:37after the moment has passed. So, please
- 2:40remember that.
