7. 0:17didn't think much of it I bent town I
8. 0:20gathered up the papers handed them back
9. 0:22to him and pointed out that his his bag
10. 0:23had opened now in our bodies as a
11. 0:26chemical called oxytocin oxytocin is
12. 0:29responsible for all the warm and fuzzies
13. 0:30unicorns and rainbows it's responsible
14. 0:33for all the warm feelings and
15. 0:35connectedness we have with each other
16. 0:37friendship love huge amounts of oxytocin
17. 0:41surged through a woman's body as she
18. 0:43gives birth this is what is responsible
19. 0:45for the mother-child bond oxytocin binds
20. 0:47human beings there are many ways to get
21. 0:50oxytocin one of them is acts of kindness
22. 0:53and acts of generosity it feels good
23. 0:55when we do something nice for someone it
24. 0:57feels good when someone does something
25. 0:58nice for us on this particular day I did
26. 1:03something for someone with no
27. 1:04expectation of anything in return I got
28. 1:07a little surge of oxytocin I felt good
29. 1:09he turned to me he said thank you it
30. 1:13feels nice when someone does something
31. 1:14for us with no expectation of anything
32. 1:16in return he felt good I walked to the
33. 1:20end of the street I'm waiting to cross
34. 1:21the street and a total stranger who
35. 1:24happened to be standing next to me said
36. 1:25I saw what you did back there that was
37. 1:27really cool as it turns out witnessing
38. 1:30an act of generosity
39. 1:33releases oxytocin and he felt good and
40. 1:39the best part about oxytocin is the more
41. 1:41oxytocin we have in our bodies the more
42. 1:44generous we become it is Mother Nature's
43. 1:48Way of trying desperately to get us to
44. 1:50look after each other I can guarantee
45. 1:53you that that man who witnessed what I
46. 1:56did did something nice for somebody that
47. 1:58day simply because he saw someone do
48. 2:01something nice for somebody that day so
49. 2:03what if we commit to do something nice
50. 2:05for someone with no expectation of
51. 2:08anything in return imagine what happens
52. 2:10at work imagine what happens at home
53. 2:11imagine what happens with our friends
54. 2:14but it must be genuine
