- 0:00Ladies and gentlemen, anyone interested?
- 0:02They are just old things, [music] very
- 0:04cheap.
- 0:06>> Hey old man, who gave you permission to
- 0:08set up a stall here?
- 0:09>> Sir,
- 0:10I just [music] want to sell some things
- 0:12to get something to eat.
- 0:13>> The officer sneered, kicking the stall
- 0:16over with one blow.
- 0:17>> If you want food, go to the shelter.
- 0:19This is no for you.
- 0:21>> The old man [music] scrambled to his
- 0:22knees to pick them up.
- 0:23>> I'm sorry, sir. Please don't step on
- 0:25that. I'll leave as soon as I get enough
- 0:27for food.
- 0:28>> The officer [music] shoved him hard to
- 0:29the ground.
- 0:30>> Are you deaf? I told you to get away
- 0:32from this building. We have a VIP
- 0:34arriving today. Don't ruin this place
- 0:36with your trash.
- 0:37>> Just then, a homeless man holding a loaf
- 0:40of bread stopped. He knelt down and
- 0:42quietly helped [music] the old man
- 0:43gather his scattered things.
- 0:44>> Son, son, leave it. It will only bring
- 0:47you trouble.
- 0:49>> It's okay, sir.
- 0:51>> [music]
- 0:51>> Something like this shouldn't be lying
- 0:52on the ground.
- 0:53>> The officer mocked with a harsh laugh.
- 0:55>> How touching. A junk vendor and a
- 0:58garbage collector. You two are a perfect
- 1:00match.
- 1:01>> The homeless [music] man stood up,
- 1:03shielding the old man.
- 1:04>> Sir, he's already down. At least let
- 1:06[music] him finish picking up his
- 1:07things.
- 1:08>> The officer pushed him back.
- 1:09>> Hey bum, you want to get kicked out,
- 1:11too?
- 1:12>> Right then, a black Lincoln pulled up in
- 1:14front of the building. A white-haired
- 1:16general stepped out. [music] The officer
- 1:18immediately saluted.
- 1:19>> General Raymond, welcome, sir.
- 1:21>> Raymond's eyes froze the [music] moment
- 1:23they landed on the old dog tag in the
- 1:25old man's hand. Captain Sean, my
- 1:27commander, what are you doing here? The
- 1:29old man looked up. Raymond, [music] I
- 1:31never thought I'd see you again. Raymond
- 1:33knelt down and helped him up. Commander
- 1:35Sean, we have been looking for you for
- 1:3715 [music]
- 1:38years.
- 1:39>> If you hadn't dragged me out of that
- 1:40battlefield back then, I wouldn't be
- 1:42standing here today.
- 1:43>> The officer's face went [music] pale.
- 1:45>> General, I'm sorry. I didn't know.
- 1:48>> You didn't know who he was, [music] so
- 1:49that gives you the right to humiliate
- 1:51him?
- 1:52This uniform is meant to protect [music]
- 1:54the weak, not to bully those who can't
- 1:56fight back.
- 1:58You are suspended. [music]
- 1:59You don't deserve to wear this uniform
- 2:01and you sure as hell don't deserve
- 2:02deserve to stand in front of this
- 2:03[music] hero.
- 2:04>> Raymond then picked up the half loaf of
- 2:06bread from the ground and handed it to
- 2:08the homeless man. Son, thank you. When
- 2:11everyone else chose silence, [music] you
- 2:12chose to bend down. Shawn took the
- 2:15homeless man's hand.
- 2:16>> Son, what is your name?
- 2:17>> George.
- 2:18>> Thank you, George.
- 2:20Thank you for [music] bringing back the
- 2:21last piece of dignity for an old
- 2:23soldier.
- 2:23>> Raymond softened his voice looking at
- 2:25George. Come with us. I'll make [music]
- 2:27sure you are taken care of. You don't
- 2:29have to sleep on the streets anymore.
- 2:31George looked at the bread in his hand
- 2:32and shook his head gently.
- 2:34>> Thank you, General.
- 2:35But I can't just think [music] about
- 2:36myself. There are a few people at the
- 2:38shelter waiting for me to bring this
- 2:39bread back.
- 2:41Take care of this gentleman first.
- 2:43[music] He deserves to be remembered by
- 2:44this world more than I do.
- 2:46>> Tears streamed down [music] Shawn's
- 2:48face. He stepped forward and hugged him
- 2:50tightly.
- 2:51>> Thank you, George. May God see your
- 2:52kindness.
- 2:54>> If you believe respect shouldn't [music]
- 2:55depend on status, please leave respect
- 2:58in the comments.
