- 0:04>> Hey girls, welcome back to my channel.
- 0:06And if you're new, I'm Akai Michelle.
- 0:07Today we have another makeup tutorial
- 0:09showing you my full routine with
- 0:10drugstore makeup products. This is the
- 0:12only drugstore makeup tutorial you'll
- 0:14ever need. All right girls, when I say
- 0:16all my products are going to be
- 0:17budget-friendly in this video, all my
- 0:18products are going to be budget-friendly
- 0:20in this video. You know, I don't play
- 0:21when it comes to skin care, so I'm
- 0:22starting off by moisturizing my skin
- 0:24with my Cerave moisturizer. I would like
- 0:26to moisturize before going in with any
- 0:27makeup products to make sure our skin is
- 0:29ready to go and kind of provide a
- 0:31barrier between our makeup and our skin.
- 0:33Cuz if you know, you know, crusty skin
- 0:35leads to crusty makeup. We don't do that
- 0:37here. Now that our skin is all
- 0:38moisturized, we look nice, plump, and
- 0:40juicy, we can get into some primer.
- 0:42Today for primer, I'm using a dupe to
- 0:43one of my favorites, the Milk Hydro
- 0:45Grip. This one is from Elf, it's the Elf
- 0:47Power Grip Primer. They are just alike,
- 0:49so I'm going in with this one. I always
- 0:50like to focus my primer where my pores
- 0:52are the most defined and noticeable,
- 0:54which for me is right here in the center
- 0:56of my face. I also like to focus on
- 0:58places I tend to crease, like my smile
- 0:59lines, and right here in this nose fold.
- 1:02This primer gets real tacky, y'all. Give
- 1:03that makeup something to stick to.
- 1:12While we're at it, I also like to get my
- 1:13brows out the way. Today I'm going in
- 1:15with my NYX brow glue. I'm just going to
- 1:16comb this gel through my brow hairs to
- 1:18make sure they stay in place and they
- 1:20are not moving.
- 1:28For foundation, we are using the
- 1:29Maybelline Superstay. I used to be
- 1:31obsessed with the Maybelline Fit Me
- 1:32foundation all throughout high school,
- 1:34and I just think this is her cooler,
- 1:36hotter, older sister. So we're going in
- 1:38with Superstay.
- 1:40This is in the shade 330. [music]
- 1:42We're just going to go in and do some
- 1:44circular motions. I always like to focus
- 1:46my foundation on our perimeter, and
- 1:48that's because this inner part of my
- 1:50face is going to have so much more
- 1:51product throughout the day. It's going
- 1:52to have concealers, powders, and things
- 1:54like that, while our perimeter tends to
- 1:56be a little neglected, so we want to
- 1:57make sure she's covered.
- 2:03Do you see that base?
- 2:06Tea.
- 2:07That's because we took our time with
- 2:08prepping our skin and the fact that this
- 2:10foundation is just tea, like get into
- 2:12it.
- 2:19Now our foundation is on, but our face
- 2:20is definitely looking a little flat. So,
- 2:22we have to add some dimension. Today,
- 2:23I'm going to do some cream bronzer using
- 2:25my Black Opal foundation stick. This is
- 2:27in the shade Suede Mocha. And I'm going
- 2:29to apply this in the hollow of my cheek.
- 2:33Now taking this dense angled brush, I'm
- 2:35going to go ahead and tap on top of that
- 2:37powder, letting her out and up through
- 2:39our cheekbone. I'm going to take the
- 2:41product that's left on my brush,
- 2:44tap it down my jawline,
- 2:48and up to our temple.
- 2:51Our face is going to look like a nice
- 2:53big E. I like to do this because I find
- 2:56when I directly apply the product
- 2:57straight to my jawline and my temple, it
- 3:00tends to look a little bit harsh. So, I
- 3:01prefer to use what's left on my brush.
- 3:03It just looks a lot more airbrushed. And
- 3:05also, you just don't need that much
- 3:07product sometimes. I'm blending it up
- 3:11once again and to our temple.
- 3:16I also like to take what's left on my
- 3:17brush and go down the sides of my nose
- 3:19with it to do some contouring
- 3:23and just add some definition back into
- 3:24my nose.
- 3:26I always take that product and go
- 3:28straight into my brows so it looks nice
- 3:29and seamless and there's no harsh stop
- 3:31right here. All carved out, so it's time
- 3:33to get to a girl's best friend, which is
- 3:35blush. [music] I'm going in with a cream
- 3:37blush tonight. This one is from Makeup
- 3:39Revolution. One of my favorites. As you
- 3:41can see, she's borderline empty. This is
- 3:43a hot pink liquid blush in the shade
- 3:45Savage Coral. I'm going to go in and
- 3:47apply this to the highest point on my
- 3:49cheek, which for me is right about here.
- 3:51Placing your product higher up just
- 3:53helps to bring a lifted sculpted look,
- 3:55which is my go-to, my signature
- 3:57actually. I live for a little snatch
- 3:59moment. And when I'm blending this
- 4:00through, I'm focusing it here, and again
- 4:03moving up with my brush. I'm going to
- 4:05bring it down to about the midpoint of
- 4:07my eye, really focus in this under eye
- 4:09area. And where you apply the product is
- 4:11where it's going to be the most
- 4:12concentrated. For example, when it came
- 4:14to my contour, I applied that darker
- 4:16foundation right in the hollow of my
- 4:18cheek because I wanted it to be the most
- 4:20intense there. When it comes to my
- 4:21blush, I want it to be most intense in
- 4:23the high point of my cheek. I'll blend
- 4:24out the edges where I also want blush,
- 4:26but the focus is always going to be in
- 4:28that high point. Everywhere else is just
- 4:29blown out. Okay, girls, now our next
- 4:31step is highlighting. For highlighting
- 4:33today, I'm taking two concealers from
- 4:34L'Oreal.
- 4:35>> [music]
- 4:35>> This lighter one is in the shade 380
- 4:37pecan, and this darker one is in the
- 4:39shade 395 walnut. First, I'm taking that
- 4:42darker concealer walnut. She's lighter
- 4:43than me, but she is darker than our
- 4:45other concealer. So, this one I'm going
- 4:47to apply on my chin, my cupid's bow,
- 4:51and the middle portion of my under eye.
- 4:55Now, on the inner and outer corners of
- 4:56my under eye, I'm taking pecan, the
- 4:58lightest concealer. I'm going to pop
- 4:59this in my inner and outer corner.
- 5:05And to blend this out, I'm taking this
- 5:06small dense brush. I'm going to blend
- 5:08out the edges of that concealer first.
- 5:09[music] Once again, just make sure
- 5:11everything is blown out, and then I'll
- 5:12work my way into the center.
- 5:24And you already know I'm lifting her up.
- 5:26Mhm. Real snatched, thank you.
- 5:37Now, I'm going to go with my beauty
- 5:38blender just to do some final blending,
- 5:40especially in that inner corner, so we
- 5:42can make sure everything looks nice and
- 5:44smooth.
- 5:51>> I'm taking what's left on my sponge just
- 5:53to tap on my nose bridge
- 5:56and in the center of my forehead.
- 6:00Going back in with the brush I used for
- 6:01my liquid blush earlier, I'm going to
- 6:03tap this on the edges of that concealer
- 6:06because I want you to be able to tell
- 6:08where things start and stop.
- 6:16Again, this is no added product, just
- 6:18what's left on my brush. Now take my
- 6:20contour brush, I'm going to run this
- 6:22through my lid
- 6:23just to add some dimension and color to
- 6:25our eyes.
- 6:26I'm also going to blend out this line
- 6:29right here
- 6:30>> [music]
- 6:30>> from my concealer.
- 6:38And taking that same brush,
- 6:41I'm going down my nose once [music]
- 6:42again.
- 6:47After we apply that concealer, we just
- 6:49got to return what was lost in the
- 6:50process, okay? Okay, girls, everything
- 6:52is blended. Our base looks so good.
- 6:55Like, who would have thought this was
- 6:57all drugstore? Ooh,
- 6:59look at that base. Oh my gosh. I'm kind
- 7:01of shook by them so. I already did this.
- 7:04I know that's right.
- 7:06Yeah, girl, let's get into setting,
- 7:07okay? Now you know, when it comes to me,
- 7:09you got to set where it's what? I don't
- 7:11play that no powder stuff, okay? We're
- 7:13not scared of powder over here. We are
- 7:15not running from powder. So I was on a
- 7:17mission to find a flawless drugstore
- 7:18powder for you, and I think we got one.
- 7:20This is the L'Oreal Infallible Blur
- 7:22Perfection Powder in the shade light
- 7:23pink. This is such a pretty and fine
- 7:26milk powder. It's just buttery smooth. I
- 7:28love it. Never mind the fact that it's
- 7:30pink. I mean, that is just a perk, but
- 7:33this powder is actually so nice and
- 7:35fine. I'm tapping my powder puff into
- 7:37the powder. Taking what's on my powder
- 7:39puff and working it into our hands so we
- 7:41can make sure that our puff has a nice
- 7:43and even coating.
- 7:47Going to hit that under eye with one
- 7:48more blend, just to make sure there's no
- 7:50creases that we're setting in place with
- 7:51powder. You don't want to set the
- 7:53creases in place. So, before you apply
- 7:54that powder, make sure she's all nice
- 7:56and blended out. Then we're going to
- 7:58look up [music] to stretch that skin
- 8:00and press the powder into our under eye.
- 8:03I always do my under eye first when I'm
- 8:05[music] setting it just because that's
- 8:07usually the first place to crease on me.
- 8:09So, before she has any chance to, I want
- 8:11to make sure we set her with powder. And
- 8:13look at that.
- 8:16So pretty and flawless, like [music]
- 8:20are you kidding me? And now we can go in
- 8:22and set the rest of our highlighted
- 8:23areas. And we're using that same
- 8:25technique, taking the powder on my puff,
- 8:27working it into my hands to make sure
- 8:29it's nice and even,
- 8:31and then pressing it into our skin.
- 8:36Give that under eye a final blend.
- 8:43Now press the powder.
- 8:49I mean, just beautiful. Beautiful,
- 8:51beautiful, beautiful. This is what the
- 8:53fans want to see. Exactly. I'm also
- 8:55going to take some powder down the
- 8:57center of my nose
- 8:59and the center of that forehead.
- 9:03I don't like to highlight too much on
- 9:04that forehead, okay? The forehead is big
- 9:06enough already. Just that little center
- 9:08in between the brows, okay? But you know
- 9:10what I recently realized, the forehead
- 9:11really isn't that big, it's just these
- 9:13weaves and sew-ins. When I have my slick
- 9:14purse, the forehead
- 9:16it was a three-head, real small, real
- 9:18tiny. It be these damn sew-ins and wigs
- 9:20snatching [music]
- 9:21her back. Oh, no. Got to get over on
- 9:23that.
- 9:25I'm also going to take some of that
- 9:26powder and carve out right where my
- 9:27contour was applied cuz sometimes it can
- 9:30be easy for contour to get a little
- 9:31messy. We just got to clean her up.
- 9:33Powder is literally like an eraser in
- 9:35makeup. If you ever apply too much
- 9:37product, go over with some translucent
- 9:39powder, she'll erase her [music] away.
- 9:41Okay, now our highlight areas are set in
- 9:43place, but what about everything else?
- 9:44We got to set where it's wet. So, to set
- 9:46my contoured areas, I'm going in with my
- 9:48L'Oreal Infallible powder foundation.
- 9:50This is in the shade 375, it's deep
- 9:52amber. [music] And we're going to set
- 9:53everywhere I applied that cream bronzer
- 9:55earlier. Be very careful with this one
- 9:57cuz she's pigmented, she's meant to be a
- 9:59foundation, so it's very easy to go
- 10:01overboard. And then tap into the product
- 10:04and then tap off all that off, okay?
- 10:05[music]
- 10:06Not going to ruin my makeup with a heavy
- 10:07hand. Uh-uh.
- 10:10Do some circular motions so you can make
- 10:12sure everything looks nice and
- 10:13airbrushed. And do those circular
- 10:15motions down my jawline as well.
- 10:18Then up to the forehead.
- 10:21I'm never playing when it comes to
- 10:22contouring this forehead, child.
- 10:25Work her [music] in.
- 10:28Literally, gorgeous.
- 10:30I'm gagging.
- 10:34I'm slicking my damn self. Okay, like
- 10:37>> [laughter]
- 10:38>> Yes. I'm also going to take this brush
- 10:40[music] and run it through my lid.
- 10:43Bringing in some warmth to that eye.
- 10:45>> [music]
- 10:45>> I know that's right.
- 10:50Now, I'm taking this smaller pencil
- 10:51brush. This brush, I don't know where
- 10:53it's from, girl. I'm telling you, lots
- 10:54of my brushes are from Amazon. I've
- 10:56ordered packs and packs and packs over
- 10:57the years. I be collecting brushes like
- 10:59Infinity Stones. I don't know where this
- 11:00one is from. I personally think it's
- 11:02hard to find bad brushes. Most brushes
- 11:04are made alike. So, sometimes I have all
- 11:06the details, but I'm taking this small
- 11:08pencil brush. I'm sure you can find her
- 11:10anywhere. And with some of that contour
- 11:11powder on it, I'm going to run this down
- 11:13the bridge of my nose
- 11:15using an extremely light hand because I
- 11:18don't want my nose to be too pinched. I
- 11:21just want to set that contour.
- 11:30And then I always like round out my tip.
- 11:35Gorgeous, honey.
- 11:37Now bringing back to a girl's best
- 11:38friend, which is our blush, honey. Today
- 11:40I'm using my NYX Buttermilk blush. Such
- 11:42a pretty [music] beautiful shade. This
- 11:44is in the color cool pink. Look how
- 11:46pretty that color is.
- 11:49Insane.
- 11:56I also love to take my blush, apply some
- 11:57[music] on my chin, on my nose, and just
- 12:01dust her over that under eye.
- 12:04For a nice wash of color.
- 12:08Now that our face is all set in place,
- 12:09we can get into these brows. Today I'm
- 12:11just going to fill them in with one of
- 12:12my favorite brow pencils. This is the
- 12:15NYX Micro Brow Pencil in the shade
- 12:16black.
- 12:21And we're just going to hit those sparse
- 12:22areas and add some more hairs to the
- 12:24front because I love a good long brow.
- 12:36Now if there's one thing you can always
- 12:38count on the drugstore to have, it's a
- 12:40good mascara. Today I'm using my Essence
- 12:42Lash Princess. I used to use this
- 12:43mascara years ago and recently I had to
- 12:45spin the block. She is too good.
- 12:51Beautiful.
- 12:53Okay. Now for falsies, I'm using my
- 12:55favorite lashes from Amazon. They're
- 12:57already linked. This is in the style
- 12:58Desire. I cut them in half for that nice
- 13:01wispy cat eye look. So this inner corner
- 13:03of the lash is now going to be applied
- 13:05to the middle part of my eye, and what
- 13:06was originally the middle part of the
- 13:08falsie is going to be applied to the
- 13:10outer corner of my eye.
- 13:26I mean, who doesn't love a good cat eye?
- 13:28Okay, girls, my dry and the face is
- 13:30done. Now, let's get into these
- 13:31finishing touches to bring the look
- 13:33together. Starting off with my lips, I'm
- 13:35taking my NYX lip liner in the shade
- 13:36Downtown Beauty. This is such a pretty
- 13:39warm brown. I just think that NYX has
- 13:41the drugstore lip products on lock,
- 13:43okay?
- 13:58And for lipstick, this is cream nude by
- 14:00Milani.
- 14:02And for gloss, our NYX Butter Gloss in
- 14:04the shade Creme Brulee.
- 14:12And of course, my base is not complete
- 14:14without my Maybelline Fit Me pressed
- 14:15powder. This is in the shade 130.
- 14:17And we're just going to sweep this in
- 14:19our under eye.
- 14:25Love it, every single time.
- 14:27Every time.
- 14:31And for setting spray, I'm using a dupe
- 14:32to my one size, my L'Oreal Infallible
- 14:34setting spray.
- 14:47And this is the only drugstore makeup
- 14:48tutorial you'll ever need.
- 14:54Okay, girls, we have officially made it
- 14:56to the end of this video. This is our
- 14:57final look. Girl, get into that flawless
- 14:59base. And drugstore at that.
- 15:03Yeah. I really hope you enjoyed and
- 15:05learned something from today's tutorial.
