  1. 0:00You can write a goal down 100 times and
  2. 0:02still not make a single step towards it.
  3. 0:04There's a reason for that and it has
  4. 0:06nothing to do with discipline or wanting
  5. 0:08it badly enough. The part of you that
  6. 0:10actually reads your behavior does not
  7. 0:13read words and every goal you've ever
  8. 0:15written has been sent to the wrong
  9. 0:16address. Occultists worked this a long
  10. 0:19time ago and they built a protocol to
  11. 0:21get around it. Five steps and you can
  12. 0:23run the whole thing tonight with a pen
  13. 0:25and a piece of paper. Look at the page
  14. 0:27on the right here. These marks are
  15. 0:29sigils. They look like nonsense like
  16. 0:31some kind of alien alphabet and that is
  17. 0:34exactly the point. Every one of those
  18. 0:36symbols started its life as a sentence.
  19. 0:39A clear desire written out in plain
  20. 0:42words and then it was deliberately
  21. 0:43broken down into a shape the conscious
  22. 0:46mind can no longer read. The artist who
  23. 0:49drew this was working from a system
  24. 0:50developed by a man named Austin Osman
  25. 0:53Spare in the early 1900s and his
  26. 0:56technique is still used today because it
  27. 0:58does something no vision board or
  28. 1:01affirmation can do. So let me explain
  29. 1:03the problem it solves this because
  30. 1:05without this part of the protocol just
  31. 1:07sounds like superstition. You have two
  32. 1:09layers running at once. The top layer is
  33. 1:12your conscious mind, the voice you think
  34. 1:14with, the part reading along with me
  35. 1:16right now. It handles logic, language
  36. 1:19and planning and underneath it sits the
  37. 1:22subconscious and there is where your
  38. 1:24habits leave, your automatic reactions,
  39. 1:26your fear and the thousand small
  40. 1:28decisions you make every day without
  41. 1:30noticing. Your subconscious mind decides
  42. 1:33you'll wake up at 5:00. Your
  43. 1:35subconscious hits the snooze button. One
  44. 1:38of these is actually in charge of your
  45. 1:40life and it isn't the one doing the
  46. 1:42deciding. The lower layer has some
  47. 1:44strange features. It doesn't think in
  48. 1:46sentences, it works in images, symbols
  49. 1:49and feelings which is why your dreams
  50. 1:52are pictures and not paragraphs and why
  51. 1:54a song can drop into a memory faster
  52. 1:57than any description of that memory ever
  53. 1:59could. Words have to be translated
  54. 2:01before they reach it, and a lot gets
  55. 2:04lost in that translation. For example,
  56. 2:06when you write down, I will be a
  57. 2:08successful business owner, your
  58. 2:10subconscious mind reads that sentence
  59. 2:12and immediately starts arguing. The
  60. 2:15doubt fires the instance the words are
  61. 2:17understood, and the message dies at the
  62. 2:20border. Spare's insight was simple and
  63. 2:22strange. If the doubt attached itself to
  64. 2:25a meaning of the words, then you have to
  65. 2:27strip out the meaning and smuggle the
  66. 2:30desire into a shape. The subconscious
  67. 2:32mind looks at the symbol, finds nothing
  68. 2:35it can argue with, and lets it through.
  69. 2:37Beneath that, the subconscious receives
  70. 2:40it fully intact. Whether you call that
  71. 2:42magic or psychology changes nothing
  72. 2:45about how you run it. So, here is the
  73. 2:46protocol. The first step is to write the
  74. 2:49desire as a single, clear sentence. It
  75. 2:52has to be in present tense, specific,
  76. 2:55and written as though it's already
  77. 2:57happening. Something like, I am building
  78. 2:59my business every single day. Keep it to
  79. 3:02one line and one desire. Two goals in
  80. 3:05one sentence splits the charge, and
  81. 3:07you'll end up immediately with a symbol
  82. 3:09pulling in two different directions. And
  83. 3:11be careful with the wording, because
  84. 3:13this step decides everything that
  85. 3:15follows. Vague sentences produce vague
  86. 3:18results. I want to be happy, for
  87. 3:20example, tells the deeper mind nothing
  88. 3:22it can act on. I speak with confidence
  89. 3:25in front of people gives it something to
  90. 3:27actually build towards. And avoid
  91. 3:29negatives completely. Write what you're
  92. 3:32moving towards, never what you're
  93. 3:34running from. Because the deeper layer
  94. 3:36handles images rather than logic, and
  95. 3:38the image inside I am not afraid is
  96. 3:41still fear. The second step is to remove
  97. 3:44every repeated letter. Take your
  98. 3:46sentences, cross out all the spaces, and
  99. 3:49go through the letters one by one,
  100. 3:51keeping only the first appearance of
  101. 3:54each. So, for example, if your sentence
  102. 3:56is I am building my business, you have
  103. 3:58to remove every single double letter in
  104. 4:01that sentence. So, like 12 letters out
  105. 4:04of 20 something. Because now the
  106. 4:06sentence is gone and what's left is raw
  107. 4:08material. This step is doing more work
  108. 4:11than it actually looks like. You're
  109. 4:13taking something that your conscious
  110. 4:15mind can read and you are reducing it to
  111. 4:18something it can't. The meaning is still
  112. 4:20there, compressed, but the arguing part
  113. 4:23of you has nothing left to grab onto.
  114. 4:25The third step is building the symbol.
  115. 4:28You have to take those letters and merge
  116. 4:30them into one shape. Overlap them,
  117. 4:33rotate them, stretch them, stack them on
  118. 4:36top of each other. An E turned on its
  119. 4:38side becomes a symbol of three lines.
  120. 4:41There really is no right or wrong way to
  121. 4:43do this. Draw it a few times loosening
  122. 4:46it each round until you end up with
  123. 4:48something that no longer looks like
  124. 4:50letters at all. What you're after is a
  125. 4:53shape with a bit of a weight to it.
  126. 4:55Something that can feel deliberate and
  127. 4:57look slightly strange when you look at
  128. 4:59it. Those marks on this page have that
  129. 5:01quality, which is exactly why they were
  130. 5:03drawn this way. You should be able to
  131. 5:05look at your finished shape and feel
  132. 5:08something without being able to read a
  133. 5:11single word of it. Step four is to
  134. 5:13charge it. This is where the symbol gets
  135. 5:16pushed down past the surface and it's
  136. 5:18the step with the most noise around it.
  137. 5:21So, let me cut through that. Fixing your
  138. 5:24full attention on the sigil during a
  139. 5:26moment when your conscious mind has gone
  140. 5:30quiet. Occultists call this the quiet
  141. 5:32state gnosis and they reached it in
  142. 5:34different ways. Through exhaustion,
  143. 5:37through intense focus, and through deep
  144. 5:39stillness. The principle underneath all
  145. 5:42of those methods is the same. The
  146. 5:44chattering layer has to be out of the
  147. 5:46way for a moment so that the symbol can
  148. 5:49slip past it. The version that I would
  149. 5:51actually recommend is the calmest one.
  150. 5:53Sit somewhere quiet with a sigil in
  151. 5:55front of you, slow down your breathing,
  152. 5:58and stare at the shape without naming it
  153. 6:01or without thinking about what it means.
  154. 6:04Let your eyes soften into it. Thoughts
  155. 6:07will come and go and let them pass
  156. 6:09without following. After a few minutes,
  157. 6:12something shifts. The inner commentary
  158. 6:14thins out and the symbol is just sitting
  159. 6:17there feeling your attention. That's the
  160. 6:19window. Hold it there for as long as it
  161. 6:22stays. Some people charge a sigil at the
  162. 6:24peak of physical exhaustion after a run
  163. 6:28or some long effort when the mind goes
  164. 6:30blank from fatigue. That works on the
  165. 6:33same principle. The quiet focused
  166. 6:35version is easier to repeat and harder
  167. 6:38to get wrong. Step five, and this is the
  168. 6:41one everybody gets wrong. Forget it. You
  169. 6:45have to forget it. You have to destroy
  170. 6:47the paper. You have to burn it, tear it
  171. 6:49up, throw it away, whatever it is. Then
  172. 6:51put the whole thing out of your mind and
  173. 6:54go live your life. I know that this can
  174. 6:56sound strange and backwards. And when I
  175. 6:58first read it through, I misunderstood
  176. 7:00the instructions. Every piece of
  177. 7:03goal-setting
  178. 7:04advice ever written says the opposite.
  179. 7:07Keep it visible, look at it every day,
  180. 7:09put it on your mirror or your walls.
  181. 7:11Spare's reasoning holds up better than
  182. 7:14it has any right to. Consciously
  183. 7:16remembering the desire means consciously
  184. 7:19remembering you don't have it yet. Every
  185. 7:22time you look at the goal on your wall,
  186. 7:24you are also looking at the gap and the
  187. 7:27feeling that gets reinforced is lack.
  188. 7:30The sigil was built to hand the
  189. 7:32instructions over and then get out of
  190. 7:34the way. Keeping it around it drags it
  191. 7:37back up to the surface where the doubt
  192. 7:39lives and it undoes the entire points of
  193. 7:42the first four steps. Hand it over and
  194. 7:45then let go. That's the hardest part of
  195. 7:48the protocol by a long way. Now, let me
  196. 7:50give you the plain mechanical
  197. 7:52explanation of why this produces results
  198. 7:55because you don't have to believe in
  199. 7:57anything mystical for it to work on you.
  200. 8:00Your brain has a filtering system that
  201. 8:02decides what reaches your awareness. You
  202. 8:05are surrounded by an enormous amount of
  203. 8:08information at every moment and almost
  204. 8:11all of it gets discarded before you
  205. 8:14notice it exists. What goes through is
  206. 8:16whatever your deeper mind has flagged as
  207. 8:19mattering. This is why someone who buys
  208. 8:22a particular car suddenly sees the exact
  209. 8:26car on every single street. The cars
  210. 8:28were always there, but the filter
  211. 8:31changed. Program a desire deep enough
  212. 8:34and the filter adjusts to it.
  213. 8:36Opportunities you would have walked
  214. 8:38straight past start registering. A
  215. 8:40conversation you'd have ignored catches
  216. 8:43your ear. You notice the opening, you
  217. 8:45make the call, and you say yes to the
  218. 8:49thing. From the inside it can feel like
  219. 8:51luck arriving, but what is actually
  220. 8:54happening is that your attention has
  221. 8:56been returned and your behavior has been
  222. 8:58quietly followed. And there is a second
  223. 9:01effect that matters just as much.
  224. 9:03Programming a desire without the doubt
  225. 9:06attached changes how you move towards
  226. 9:09it. Hesitation costs people more
  227. 9:11opportunities than failure ever does.
  228. 9:14And when the internal argument gets
  229. 9:16quieter, you act faster. More attempts
  230. 9:19simply mean more results. Nothing
  231. 9:21supernatural required. But I have a few
  232. 9:24honest warnings before you go and try
  233. 9:26it. A sigil is not a substitute for
  234. 9:29work. If you charge a symbol about
  235. 9:32building a business and then spend your
  236. 9:34whole evening scrolling, the protocol
  237. 9:37has nothing to work with. All it does is
  238. 9:39to aim your attention and remove your
  239. 9:42internal brakes, and both of those are
  240. 9:44useless without movement. You have to
  241. 9:47treat it as a tuning tool, not a vending
  242. 9:49machine. Keep your desires at one at a
  243. 9:51time and give each one a room. Firing a
  244. 9:54couple of sigils out in a week spreads
  245. 9:56you thin and none of them lands
  246. 9:58properly. Pick the thing that matters
  247. 10:00most right now and let that one run. And
  248. 10:04aim it and aim it at something real.
  249. 10:06Goals borrowed from other people or
  250. 10:08chased because they sound impressive and
  251. 10:11not to take hold even with a perfect
  252. 10:14sigil because somewhere underneath you
  253. 10:16you know you don't actually want them.
  254. 10:19The deeper layer is harder to lie to
  255. 10:21than the surface one. So that's the full
  256. 10:23protocol. Write it down, strip it, build
  257. 10:27it, charge it, and forget it. Five
  258. 10:29steps, one evening, and a piece of paper
  259. 10:32you're going to destroy on purpose. What
  260. 10:34I find genuinely interesting about this
  261. 10:36technique is that it survived in secret
  262. 10:39for a century while mainstream advice
  263. 10:41kept telling everyone to do the exact
  264. 10:44opposite. Write down the goal and stare
  265. 10:46at it every day. And people do that
  266. 10:48faithfully year after year while the
  267. 10:50deeper part of them never receives the
  268. 10:52messages at all. Pick one thing you'd
  269. 10:54actually want, run the five steps
  270. 10:57tonight, and then go and genuinely
  271. 10:59forget about it. Check back in 1 month
  272. 11:02and look at what shifted in how you were
  273. 11:04paying attention. Subscribe if you want
  274. 11:07more of this and drop a comment if you
  275. 11:09try it because I'd like to hear how it
  276. 11:11goes for
