- 0:30Um this is Tikon Mangoya from uh Vindok
- 0:34Namibia uh territory. We are gathered
- 0:38here as your children from Australasia
- 0:42and also Africa region. Um we
- 0:47are being blessed by the preaching and
- 0:50just as uh we have heard through the the
- 0:53the testimonies of the how impactful
- 0:57the messages are in our practical uh
- 1:01lives as
- 1:04Ephraims and mana says we are gathered
- 1:06today uh because we've been presented
- 1:09unto the by the high priest unto the
- 1:12father. So we gather today knowing that
- 1:15uh each time
- 1:18it's there is something that is actually
- 1:20coming from uh the ordinance of uh the
- 1:26kingdom. So we welcome Yay and we hand
- 1:29over to you.
- 1:32>> Thank you. Thank you very much. It's so
- 1:34so good to hear your voice speaking
- 1:36there. This is Pastor Chuma. I'm sure
- 1:39you do recognize my voice as well.
- 1:43Now, now deon
- 1:46this is Australasia and Africa and I
- 1:49know that
- 1:51just like us ministers you have been
- 1:54licking your fingers because of the
- 1:55delicacies
- 1:57of Ephraim and Manas that was family
- 2:00duty part three and I must say that
- 2:02we've enjoyed your your testimonies the
- 2:06very last one from from Prince Elia that
- 2:10was wonderful you Oh,
- 2:13it's so so amazing to see Joseph
- 2:17bringing his sons to be adopted by his
- 2:20father Israel and his sons due to
- 2:25adoption they become his brethren which
- 2:30was a shadow of Christ in the in the New
- 2:33Testament
- 2:35bringing us the elect to be adopted by
- 2:39his father. And because of that adopted
- 2:42adoption, we've become
- 2:46brethren with him. Literally meaning
- 2:48brothers with him. Now Hebrews 2:1 says,
- 2:53"For both he that sanctifies and they
- 2:56who are sanctified are all of one, for
- 3:00which cause he is not ashamed to call
- 3:03them brethren." Hallelujah.
- 3:07>> [laughter]
- 3:09>> This is so so so beautiful. Brethren,
- 3:11Australasia, Hoi,
- 3:14Africa region, Hoi,
- 3:17welcome to to this regional service. I'm
- 3:20sure we are going to be edified and in
- 3:22the studio. I've got pastor with me. Now
- 3:28pastor everybody is talking about part
- 3:33three of family duty iframe and manas
- 3:37and we have heard the testimonies from
- 3:40the brethren in Australasia and Africa
- 3:44they are enjoying the delicacies as
- 3:46well.
- 3:48Yes. Pastor
- 3:50believers in Africa
- 3:58Australasia. How are you doing? I'm also
- 4:01excited to be with you tonight and I'm
- 4:05so happy. It's
- 4:07indeed a
- 4:10a wonderful evening for us and I'm so
- 4:15happy pastor as you referred to the
- 4:18Ephraim and manas part three it was a
- 4:22great sermon which each time you would
- 4:26want to listen to it as the revelation
- 4:30was being unleashed and we saw the
- 4:33crisscross hands there. Yes.
- 4:35>> And we saw again this issue that Israel
- 4:39had to ask who are these? It was now
- 4:42Israel but it was Jacob in verse 5 who
- 4:45had said your children and man who be
- 4:51mine and then he says who are these and
- 4:54you would wonder what a question but
- 4:59initially he had recognized them. What
- 5:01is happening? And we realized that that
- 5:04was Jacob. It was not Israel. And when
- 5:07it came to the real act, it was Israel
- 5:11who was blessing the children. And we
- 5:14really enjoyed the meal, the issue of
- 5:17adoption there. All along, pastor, when
- 5:20we
- 5:22were converted, when we were found by
- 5:24this word, the issue of adoption was
- 5:27being preached every now and then. Yes.
- 5:30But it came to light more in this sermon
- 5:34to say what is adoption, the place of
- 5:37adoption, the adoptee and everything
- 5:40else around adoption. It was not as
- 5:45illustrated as before of before as it
- 5:49was illustrated in this last sermon. We
- 5:53really enjoyed it, pastor. Uh there is a
- 5:57great um change in the way we understand
- 6:01even ourselves in the family of Judy
- 6:05mini series which is in the series of
- 6:08the mystery of the salvation of the
- 6:11gentiles and we saw family duty part one
- 6:14part two and part three. So it is quite
- 6:18interesting and it is still quite
- 6:21helping us to understand those things.
- 6:24Pastor, it was so exciting. I really
- 6:27enjoyed it and I enjoyed the testimonies
- 6:31that were coming through. One of the
- 6:34brethren said uh seeing people in the
- 6:39society loitering street kids, it has to
- 6:42be a thing of the past.
- 6:44>> Yeah. after hearing this message because
- 6:46I can't leave my brother's deceased
- 6:50brother's children loitering in the
- 6:52street and we didn't know who who knew
- 6:56maybe there is a family savior from
- 7:00those children left by my deceased
- 7:03brother and I liked again brethren Elia
- 7:06when he said I've got three girls so
- 7:09what must I do
- 7:10>> it's doable I have to do the right thing
- 7:13and perpetuate the family. So, I can go
- 7:16on and on. I really enjoyed it. Thank
- 7:19you.
- 7:20>> Yes, Pastor Angia, I couldn't agree with
- 7:22you more. Um, adoption has never taught
- 7:26like this before. We have never had
- 7:28anyone else in this world who has taught
- 7:31adoption the way it was taught this time
- 7:34around. The the level was just so so so
- 7:36high. Now, now believers in in
- 7:39Australia, believers in New Zealand and
- 7:41the surrounding areas, believers in this
- 7:43great region of Africa, I'm sure you are
- 7:45you are ready right now. Our mother,
- 7:48Apostle Tena, the prisoner of our Lord
- 7:52and Savior Jesus Christ, Yeshua
- 7:54Hamashiach is with us now. Apostle
- 7:58Chena, I I listened to that admonition
- 8:01again this morning and uh I I I checked
- 8:05on the on the live chat. There were
- 8:07quite a number of people who don't seem
- 8:09to belong to with the Jesus revelation
- 8:12ministries who were asking where can I
- 8:16go to attend this church. This teaching
- 8:18is amazing.
- 8:21>> Yes pastor
- 8:24that is true and we are delighted to see
- 8:29>> those uh developments. M
- 8:32>> we are happy to see people fascinated.
- 8:36>> Yes.
- 8:37>> But most importantly uh enlightened
- 8:42by the teachings we are giving.
- 8:44>> Yes.
- 8:46>> The there is nowhere else that they
- 8:48could hear what we teach here.
- 8:50>> Yeah. When we said it in the beginning,
- 8:53people thought we were being
- 8:57arrogant or some some thought we were
- 9:00becoming proud.
- 9:01>> Yes.
- 9:02>> But it wasn't pride.
- 9:04>> We wanted believers and sinners alike to
- 9:09know that
- 9:11there's something that the Lord has
- 9:13given us.
- 9:14>> And they are invited.
- 9:16>> Yes. to come and get themselves
- 9:21uh the dosage of life.
- 9:23>> Amen.
- 9:24>> The word of God that he has given to us
- 9:27is amazing.
- 9:30You will never regret listening to our
- 9:33sermons.
- 9:35>> And there's no day when you hear
- 9:38something and and say, "I learned
- 9:40nothing."
- 9:42>> Every day there's always something to
- 9:45learn.
- 9:46>> Yes.
- 9:47So we saw those comments and those
- 9:49questions and I'm sure pastor you can
- 9:53even at the beginning of this
- 9:54interaction
- 9:56>> direct those who want to know
- 9:58>> yes
- 9:58>> we are to find us
- 10:01>> so that they can fellowship with us
- 10:05we are all over the world
- 10:07>> yes
- 10:08>> h the gospel is designed to go up to the
- 10:13uttermost parts of the earth
- 10:15>> amen Amen.
- 10:16>> So there are Assemblies of Jesus
- 10:20Revelation Ministries
- 10:22in Africa.
- 10:24>> Yes.
- 10:25>> If you are in Zimbabwe
- 10:28uh when we are doing live services, we
- 10:32actually our contacts on the screen.
- 10:35>> Yes. So contact the Zimbabwean telephone
- 10:39numbers
- 10:40>> so that our leadership can direct you to
- 10:43the place that is near where you live.
- 10:46>> Mhm.
- 10:47>> We have assemblies all over Zimbabwe.
- 10:50>> Yes.
- 10:50>> If you are in Quay, we have an assembly
- 10:52in Qu. If you're in Bulwayo, we have an
- 10:55assembly in Bulway.
- 10:57If you're in Gueru, we have assembly
- 10:59there all over.
- 11:01But we cannot put all those contacts on
- 11:04the screen.
- 11:06So we put a Zimbabwe contact, South
- 11:09Africa contact, Zambia,
- 11:13Mozambi,
- 11:15>> Botswana, Namibia.
- 11:16>> Mhm.
- 11:17>> South Africa. If you are in Australia,
- 11:21we do have an assembly in Australia.
- 11:23>> Yes.
- 11:24>> And I think our people should also put a
- 11:27New Zealand contact.
- 11:28>> Ah yes. Yes. So that those who are not
- 11:32in Australia but they don't know that
- 11:35our Australia region covers New Zealand.
- 11:39>> So let's put New Zealand details on the
- 11:43screen as well.
- 11:44>> If you are in Europe, we have assemblies
- 11:47in Europe. If you are in America, we
- 11:50have assemblies in America. If you are
- 11:52in the Middle East and Asia Pacific
- 11:55region, we do have assemblies there. So
- 12:00the contacts are always on the screen.
- 12:02Wherever you are, if you are in Europe,
- 12:04in in in Britain or in in in in in the
- 12:08UK, our leadership there will direct you
- 12:12to the assembly closer to you.
- 12:14>> Yes.
- 12:15>> So there is no one who can just listen
- 12:18to the word and not fellowship with
- 12:20others and not attend gatherings. The
- 12:25fellowshipping of believers is equally
- 12:28important.
- 12:29So that's it, pastor.
- 12:32We invite them to come.
- 12:34>> Amen.
- 12:35>> Come and get saved.
- 12:36>> Yes.
- 12:37>> Get tired as a quicker of of fables.
- 12:41Cunningly devised or designed fables.
- 12:44>> Yes.
- 12:45>> Live false religions.
- 12:47>> Yes.
- 12:48>> Stop following gelatans.
- 12:50>> Come to the true gospel.
- 12:53Um, you don't want to die following a
- 12:56false preacher.
- 12:58>> These are not matters to joke about.
- 13:00>> No.
- 13:02>> So that's that's what we want to say,
- 13:03pastor.
- 13:05>> Wonderful.
- 13:06>> Yeah.
- 13:08>> So, um, greetings to you Australia
- 13:13and the other regions around. Greetings
- 13:16to you New Zealand.
- 13:18Greetings to you South Africa.
- 13:22H greetings to
- 13:28Deon Manga from Namibia.
- 13:33Uh greetings to our regional coordinator
- 13:36for
- 13:37Africa, brother Gerald Shahara.
- 13:41Greetings to the regional coordinator
- 13:43for Australasia region, Tikon Joo.
- 13:48And greetings also to believers who were
- 13:52helping with the presentation tonight.
- 13:55Brethren Shenon
- 13:58uh brethren,
- 14:00Brethren Kabay
- 14:03and brethren Kusa.
- 14:07We are delighted. I'm delighted to be
- 14:09meeting with you after a long time.
- 14:13I hope you are happy. We last met. I
- 14:17think it's last year, right? I can't
- 14:19remember when it was.
- 14:21>> February.
- 14:21>> February. Wow.
- 14:24>> I can't even remember.
- 14:26But I'm happy. I'm happy we are meeting
- 14:30uh with you.
- 14:35I hope that
- 14:37we are also preparing to attend to go to
- 14:41the RG.
- 14:42>> Yes. And I hope before we end this
- 14:46service, we'll talk again
- 14:49about the revelation gathering.
- 14:54>> Yes. Yes. Yes.
- 14:58So, uh, pastors, I must confess that
- 15:03I can't take my mind off the family duty
- 15:09admonition series.
- 15:11>> Yes. Yes. Yes.
- 15:13I tried to focus on something else but I
- 15:16couldn't. [laughter]
- 15:19So
- 15:21um
- 15:25but I must warn you that
- 15:30we might peep into
- 15:33a part four message which I intend to
- 15:36share on Sunday today.
- 15:38>> Okay.
- 15:39>> It's a pip in. I'm very disciplined with
- 15:42that.
- 15:42>> All right.
- 15:44>> So there are issues there
- 15:48that we are going to peep into.
- 15:51>> Mhm.
- 15:52>> All right.
- 15:53>> Yes.
- 15:55>> So the message I will share with you
- 15:59is titled
- 16:02the
- 16:04mystery of the firstborn.
- 16:14The mystery of the first born.
- 16:24Let me start by
- 16:28going into a marathon reading of
- 16:32certain scriptures.
- 16:34Okay. to
- 16:37bring out
- 16:40what occasions
- 16:42this sermon
- 16:45sermons are always coming to attend to
- 16:48an important pertinent matter. Mhm.
- 16:51>> So,
- 16:53uh believers wherever you are, it must
- 16:57be understood that
- 17:01from what we
- 17:04uh read particularly in our earlier
- 17:07years of ministry,
- 17:10for example, from
- 17:13from Revelation 22:18,
- 17:18there is not to be
- 17:21any
- 17:23addition
- 17:24>> mhm
- 17:25>> of words into the scripture.
- 17:29>> In in in essence we must say there
- 17:33should not be any addition to the text
- 17:38of the scripture.
- 17:39>> Yes.
- 17:41>> Do you understand?
- 17:42>> Yes.
- 17:43>> Yes.
- 17:47Let's read it. We will show you why this
- 17:50scripture will matter today.
- 17:53Because of time, you will then have to
- 17:56read Deuteronomy chapter 4 on your own
- 18:01because you will also discover that
- 18:04Revelation 22:18
- 18:07is a confirmation to Deuteronomy chapter
- 18:104.
- 18:12What you find there is not new to the
- 18:17text.
- 18:18It is a recital, a repetition.
- 18:23Verse 18.
- 18:25>> For I testify unto every man that hears
- 18:29the words of the prophets of this book.
- 18:32>> Yes.
- 18:32>> If any man shall add unto these things,
- 18:35>> if any man adds unto these things,
- 18:39>> God shall add unto him the plagues that
- 18:42are written in this book. the anger of
- 18:45God prophesied and spoken of in this
- 18:49book.
- 18:50>> If you add a comma, if you add a full
- 18:53stop,
- 18:54>> if you add a word, Pastor Chuma, if you
- 18:57add a a statement
- 18:59>> into the Bible,
- 19:02>> God shall add unto you the plagues that
- 19:05are written in this book. Right. Verse
- 19:0919.
- 19:11>> And if any man shall take away from the
- 19:13words of the book of this prophet,
- 19:16>> Yes.
- 19:16>> God shall take away his part out of the
- 19:18book of life.
- 19:19>> Yes.
- 19:20>> And out of the holy city,
- 19:22>> and from the things which are written in
- 19:24this book,
- 19:25>> you benefit nothing from the things
- 19:27written in the book.
- 19:29Mhm.
- 19:30>> But as you shall see, there seems to be
- 19:34more dire consequences to those who take
- 19:37away from the book.
- 19:39>> Yes.
- 19:40>> Than to those who add to the book.
- 19:42>> Yes.
- 19:44>> Don't take anything out
- 19:46>> of the book.
- 19:48>> If you take away words of the book,
- 19:52>> God will take away your part from the
- 19:54book of life.
- 19:55>> Yes.
- 19:56God will take you take away your part
- 19:59out of the holy city.
- 20:03>> You see?
- 20:04>> Yes.
- 20:05Yes.
- 20:06>> So I said now
- 20:09the words that are written in Revelation
- 20:1222 18 and 19
- 20:15>> are a repetition of what God had said
- 20:19>> concerning the law
- 20:21>> in Deuteronomy 41 and2.
- 20:23>> Yes. Let's go.
- 20:25>> Now therefore, hearken, O Israel,
- 20:27>> Yes.
- 20:28>> unto the statutes
- 20:29>> and unto the judgments
- 20:30>> judgments
- 20:31>> which I teach you
- 20:32>> teach you
- 20:32>> for to do them
- 20:33>> do them
- 20:34>> that you may live
- 20:35>> live
- 20:35>> and go in and possess the land
- 20:37>> go in and possess the land
- 20:38>> which the Lord God possess the land
- 20:42which the Lord God of your fathers gives
- 20:44you.
- 20:44>> Yes.
- 20:45>> You shall not add unto the word which I
- 20:47command you. You shall not add,
- 20:52>> neither shall you diminish what from it.
- 20:54>> Neither shall you take away a small part
- 20:58from it, that you may keep the
- 21:00commandments of the Lord your God, which
- 21:03I command you.
- 21:04>> So that is not a
- 21:08some some uh wild suggestion. Now true
- 21:14to what Apostle said, Revelation 22:18
- 21:19and 19, repeat the words that are in
- 21:23Deuteromy
- 21:24>> 4 verse one and two,
- 21:28>> but you you might need to also
- 21:33bear with me there. I am a man who loves
- 21:38to ask the why questions all the time.
- 21:42So you will see that the the the the the
- 21:46warning that you see in Dum chapter 4
- 21:49does not have as dire consequences
- 21:53as the warning that is in revelation
- 21:5622:18.
- 21:59So
- 22:01if you are confused
- 22:06and if you are wondering why there are
- 22:10worse consequences in the New Testament
- 22:14than in the Old Testament,
- 22:16the answer is in Hebrews 10
- 22:22from verse number 24.
- 22:26Let's not read it
- 22:29um up to verse 32.
- 22:32>> So this is where the explanation is.
- 22:35>> Okay. In the Old Testament, people were
- 22:37stoned to death. People were
- 22:41uh hanged. People were struck with
- 22:44leprosy and they died instantly.
- 22:48>> Those are lesser punishments.
- 22:50>> Oh yes. than what you see happening to
- 22:53those who despise
- 22:55>> the law of God in the work of the new
- 22:59covenant.
- 23:01>> So that must be understood.
- 23:05H so Hebrews 10 explains why
- 23:09>> but if you look at 41 and2 and
- 23:13revelation 2281 19 you can tell yourself
- 23:19by the law simply said you shall not add
- 23:24to what I command you don't diminish
- 23:26nothing from it doesn't have such scary
- 23:30warnings how can God take away my part
- 23:33from the book of life for simply adding
- 23:37to the holy text of the scripture pastor
- 23:42I simply added it's not a big deal
- 23:47>> all right so that will be very end very
- 23:50soon
- 23:51>> this this scripture now
- 23:54so let us start by reading the
- 23:58common scripture John 3:16
- 24:03>> for God so loved the world that he gave
- 24:06his only begotten son that whosoever
- 24:09believes in him should not perish but
- 24:12have everlasting life.
- 24:14>> Right?
- 24:18It is imperative
- 24:20for you to understand that
- 24:25what makes Jesus the only begotten son
- 24:30instead of the only firstborn son.
- 24:34What? Why did John regard our Lord as
- 24:38the only begotten son?
- 24:42>> The answer is
- 24:44there can only be a firstborn son if
- 24:48there are more than one.
- 24:49>> Okay?
- 24:50>> Since the the the virgin birth gave us
- 24:54one son,
- 24:55>> he cannot be described as the firstborn.
- 25:01But to call him the only son was not
- 25:04enough.
- 25:05>> He needed to be called the only begotten
- 25:09son.
- 25:09>> Amen.
- 25:10>> Because even though he was born alone,
- 25:14>> he carries
- 25:16the burden of the firstborn.
- 25:19>> Amen.
- 25:20>> Amen. But then it's a message probably
- 25:23for tonight or for another day to
- 25:26explain the transition from the begotten
- 25:29son to the firstborn son.
- 25:33>> Okay?
- 25:33>> Because when he had finished
- 25:37>> the duties of the begotten son,
- 25:40>> he then started to accomplish the duties
- 25:43of the firstborn son. M
- 25:47>> so Jesus was born as the only begotten
- 25:51son.
- 25:51>> Yes.
- 25:52>> To become the firstborn son.
- 25:56But you'll see now very soon that the
- 25:59virgin birth did not make him the
- 26:02firstborn son. The the virgin birth gave
- 26:06us the begotten son.
- 26:08>> Okay.
- 26:09>> So I want to be slow. I want to be
- 26:11thorough. I want to be also fast at the
- 26:13same time. So these two are not going on
- 26:16the same direction. You might see me
- 26:19pacing up sometimes and slowing down
- 26:21later.
- 26:22>> So I said Jesus does not have
- 26:28a brothers.
- 26:32This is what makes him the only begotten
- 26:35son.
- 26:35>> Mhm.
- 26:38>> But I suppose tonight that I'm speaking
- 26:41to believers.
- 26:42>> Yes. I am not speaking to church goers
- 26:47or those who studied the religious and
- 26:49moral education in primary school
- 26:52because I don't expect believers to say
- 26:54but the Bible says he had brothers
- 26:58all right he had James he had Simeon he
- 27:01had Jose and he had um what Jude these
- 27:07were his brothers
- 27:09>> why then is Apostle saying Jesus Jesus
- 27:14did not have brothers.
- 27:16>> Come on. I'm an apostle.
- 27:19>> Some of these things spare me the burden
- 27:22of explaining them.
- 27:24>> Yes. Yes.
- 27:25>> But in in in in um in the event that
- 27:30>> we have a newcomer tonight or someone
- 27:33who hasn't heard me before might stumble
- 27:35upon this message.
- 27:38The answer to what might sound like a
- 27:41contradiction
- 27:43Indeed Jesus had brothers but Jesus did
- 27:46not have brothers
- 27:48>> at the same time.
- 27:49>> Yeah.
- 27:51Erh the reason is that
- 27:55the reason why he did not have brothers
- 27:59it is because
- 28:01there's those who were called his
- 28:03brothers
- 28:05in the western language
- 28:09uh connotations
- 28:11>> they were half brothers.
- 28:12>> Yes. Yes.
- 28:14>> Jesus did not have a blood brother.
- 28:18>> No. Because the birth of Jesus was not
- 28:22made possible
- 28:24by a natural means.
- 28:27>> Mary was not intimate with a man.
- 28:29>> Yes.
- 28:31>> Until she conceived Jesus.
- 28:34>> The scripture is clear in verse 35 of
- 28:38Luke chapter 1. Angel Gabriel having
- 28:41been asked by Mary in verse 34 when she
- 28:45said, "How can I get pregnant?
- 28:48>> Because I have never slept with a man."
- 28:50>> Yes.
- 28:52>> What did the angel say?
- 28:53>> And the angel answered and said unto
- 28:55her, "The Holy Spirit shall come upon
- 28:58thee.
- 28:59>> The Holy Spirit shall come upon you,
- 29:01Mary,
- 29:01>> and the power of the highest shall
- 29:03overshadow thee.
- 29:04>> The power of the highest shall
- 29:06overshadow thee." Therefore also that
- 29:10holy thing which shall be born of thee
- 29:13shall be called the son of God.
- 29:14>> Now I want the the media team to
- 29:17highlight the words that holy thing.
- 29:20>> Even angel Gabriel could not call him
- 29:23that holy child.
- 29:26>> The angel said it it cannot be a child.
- 29:30I I think the best I can do is to say
- 29:33it's a holy thing. [laughter]
- 29:36So Jesus was born as a holy thing.
- 29:40>> It couldn't have been a human being in
- 29:43Gabriel's understanding
- 29:45>> because Gabriel knew that there's never
- 29:48been a child whose mother got pregnant
- 29:51by being overshadowed by the Holy
- 29:53Spirit.
- 29:55>> How can a Holy Spirit overshadow a
- 29:57woman? The next thing she's pregnant.
- 30:00Such a pregnancy cannot deliver a child.
- 30:03>> [clears throat]
- 30:04>> It must be a holy thing. Yes. Yes.
- 30:17[laughter]
- 30:26Yes.
- 30:28>> So those who then called him child
- 30:31later,
- 30:32>> they had not seen what Gabriel had said.
- 30:36They started calling him child when he
- 30:38was born because they had not heard
- 30:41>> what Gabriel had said. Gabriel said,
- 30:44"Holy Spirit shall overshadow you. The
- 30:47power of th shall come upon thee.
- 30:50>> It's not a child. Now it's a holy thing.
- 30:53Pastor, you want to say something?
- 30:55>> It's just interesting. I I thought
- 30:58Apostle Matthew could not explain it.
- 31:02Well, again, he said on this wise,
- 31:05>> yes,
- 31:06>> he couldn't say.
- 31:07>> He says the birth of Jesus was on this.
- 31:10You are talking about [laughter] verse
- 31:1218, right?
- 31:13>> Yes. Of
- 31:14>> Matthew chapter one. I I I know those
- 31:16scriptures.
- 31:17>> I know.
- 31:19>> I knew you were going to pick it.
- 31:22[laughter]
- 31:23>> It's Matthew 18.
- 31:25>> Yes.
- 31:28>> Yes. [laughter] Yes.
- 31:31>> Now the birth of Jesus was on this.
- 31:34>> He could not say Jesus was born. Let me
- 31:38explain. [laughter]
- 31:39He said it happened in a wise way.
- 31:42>> Yes.
- 31:43>> So thank you pastor. Yes, for
- 31:46highlighting that one. So we will
- 31:49address this pastor. Why was he born as
- 31:53the begotten son [clears throat]
- 31:55>> and not the firstborn
- 31:58>> son of God?
- 32:02>> Let us go into Colossians chapter 1
- 32:07verse 18. We are very particular with
- 32:10this scripture. We want you to
- 32:13understand what makes Jesus the first
- 32:18born
- 32:19>> and
- 32:20>> because the virgin birth does not give
- 32:23us the first born.
- 32:24>> Yes.
- 32:25>> And and then we will talk wildly I must
- 32:29warn about the mystery of the firstborn.
- 32:32>> Yes.
- 32:33>> Okay.
- 32:34>> Yes.
- 32:34>> And he is the head of the body church.
- 32:37[snorts]
- 32:38>> He is the head of the first of the body.
- 32:41the the churches.
- 32:43>> Who is the beginning?
- 32:44>> Jesus is the beginning.
- 32:46>> The first born from the dead.
- 32:49>> Jesus
- 32:51h is the first born from the dead.
- 32:54>> That in all things he might have the pre
- 32:57eminence.
- 32:58>> Yes.
- 33:00>> For it pleased the father that in him
- 33:02should all fullness dwell.
- 33:04>> Let's go back to verse 18.
- 33:06>> And he is the head of the body. Jesus is
- 33:09the head of the body.
- 33:11>> The church.
- 33:12>> The body I'm talking about is the
- 33:14church. Yes.
- 33:15>> Yes. Who is the beginning?
- 33:17>> Christ is the beginning.
- 33:19>> The first born from the dead.
- 33:21>> Christ is the first born
- 33:24>> from the dead.
- 33:25>> That in all things he might have the
- 33:28preeeminent.
- 33:28>> So let's let's be very clear. This is
- 33:31not computing science.
- 33:34>> No.
- 33:34>> This is not quantum physics.
- 33:36>> No. Mhm.
- 33:43>> Look at that scripture on the screen. It
- 33:45says highlight the part Christ is the
- 33:49first born
- 33:51>> from the dead.
- 33:54>> Why did Paul tell us where he is coming
- 33:58from
- 33:59>> to become firstborn? Okay. Not from
- 34:04[clears throat]
- 34:08[clears throat]
- 34:11Yes.
- 34:21Amen. Amen. You understand? Amen.
- 34:24>> Yes.
- 34:26>> That's important.
- 34:27>> This is a scripture. I present unto you
- 34:30the scripture on the screen
- 34:32>> and the message there is
- 34:35comparing Colossians 1:18 with uh John
- 34:393:16.
- 34:41>> It is clear that when God so loved the
- 34:44world,
- 34:45>> he did not give us the first born. He
- 34:49gave us the begotten son.
- 34:50>> Amen. [clears throat]
- 34:52>> So the given son is the begotten son.
- 34:55>> But the resurrected son is the firstborn
- 34:57son. Hallelujah.
- 34:59>> So what makes Jesus the first born
- 35:02>> is not the virgin birth.
- 35:04>> No,
- 35:06>> it is the resurrection.
- 35:08>> Hallelujah. Amen.
- 35:10>> The reason why such a thing is like this
- 35:14is there in Ephesians chapter 2 verse
- 35:17one and first Peter
- 35:20>> chapter 2 verse one as well. Ephesians
- 35:232:1 reads, "And you has he quickened who
- 35:27were dead in trespasses and sins."
- 35:30>> Ah, we were dead in trespasses.
- 35:35>> Mhm.
- 35:35>> And sins.
- 35:36>> Yes.
- 35:37>> Christ quickened us from the dead.
- 35:41>> Amen.
- 35:41>> The word quicken, it means resurrect.
- 35:45>> So, we could clearly replace the word
- 35:48quickened with the word resurrect. Okay?
- 35:50and and read it, pastor. Replace the
- 35:53word quickened with the resurrected.
- 35:55>> And you has he resurrected who were dead
- 35:58in trespasses and sins.
- 36:00>> Verse two,
- 36:01>> wherein in time past you walked
- 36:04according to the cause of this world,
- 36:06according to the prince of the power of
- 36:08the air, the spirit that now works in
- 36:11the children of disobedience. So you
- 36:13look at verse one, it tells us that we
- 36:17Gentiles, we sinners were
- 36:19[clears throat] dead.
- 36:21>> What death are you talking about?
- 36:25>> He said, "Well, sin is death."
- 36:28>> Yes.
- 36:29>> Anyone who is living in sin is dead.
- 36:33>> Yes.
- 36:33>> He wasn't ambiguous. He said, "He has
- 36:37quickened you." Go back to verse one. He
- 36:40has quickened you because you were dead
- 36:44in trespasses and sins.
- 36:47>> Yes.
- 36:47>> And then of course he goes on to say,
- 36:50even though you were dead in trespasses
- 36:52and sins, you were walking in
- 36:55disobedience.
- 36:56>> Yes.
- 36:57>> So verse two shows us that those who
- 37:00were dead in trespasses were not grave
- 37:04dead. No,
- 37:05>> they were not symmetry dead. M
- 37:07>> they were dead to righteousness.
- 37:10>> And this is why even though they are
- 37:13pronounced dead in verse one and yet in
- 37:16verse two they are walking
- 37:18>> according to the course of this world.
- 37:20Dead
- 37:21>> but walking according to the prince of
- 37:23the power of the air.
- 37:25>> Dead but walking according to the spirit
- 37:28>> that now works in the children of
- 37:30disobedience. So you are walking but
- 37:32dead.
- 37:33>> Married but dead. Graduate but dead.
- 37:37Beautiful but dead.
- 37:39>> Moneyed but dead.
- 37:42>> Educated but dead. Eloquent but dead.
- 37:46>> You understand?
- 37:48>> Amen.
- 37:48>> Uh doing business but dead. Married but
- 37:52dead. Having children but dead.
- 37:55Traveling abroad but dead. Doing
- 37:58vacations but dead. occupying a
- 38:02political office and running government
- 38:04but dead
- 38:06>> respected by the community but dead
- 38:10>> in transgressions in sins. So you might
- 38:14read many other scriptures that talk to
- 38:17this matter. We talked about first
- 38:20Peter. We also talk about Romans chapter
- 38:236. the entire chapter you you they might
- 38:26talk to you about this matter but we are
- 38:30reading this because we want you to know
- 38:33why God did not bring Jesus as a first
- 38:39as a first born
- 38:41through the Mary virgin birth.
- 38:43>> Okay.
- 38:44>> But making Jesus first born by
- 38:47resurrection.
- 38:49>> Resurrection is what makes Jesus first
- 38:52born.
- 38:53>> Yes.
- 38:55So if you listen carefully right now,
- 38:57you understand that resurrection
- 39:01if it is that which makes Jesus first
- 39:04born. The resurrection makes Jesus first
- 39:09born. He is first born from the dead. It
- 39:12means first to open the matrix of the
- 39:18grave.
- 39:18>> Amen.
- 39:18>> Amen.
- 39:19>> Amen. So the the first nature of Christ
- 39:26>> is from the womb of the of the grave.
- 39:32>> The womb that carries Jesus
- 39:35>> carries him for three days and three
- 39:37nights. [snorts]
- 39:38And that is what makes him to wake up to
- 39:42rise up to be born through resurrection
- 39:46>> and then to occupy the firstborn status.
- 39:51>> Amen.
- 39:52>> Listen carefully.
- 39:54>> In Matthew 12:38,
- 39:57>> some Pharisees and Jews came to Jesus
- 39:59and said, "We want a sign from you."
- 40:03>> Yes. And he said,
- 40:05>> "Then
- 40:06>> an evil and adulterous generation seeks
- 40:09for a sign,
- 40:11>> and they shall no sign be given to it,
- 40:13but the sign of the prophet Jonas."
- 40:16>> Mhm.
- 40:16>> For as Jonas was three days and three
- 40:19nights in the well's belly,
- 40:23>> womb.
- 40:24>> Yes.
- 40:25>> So shall the son of man be three days
- 40:27and three nights in the heart of the
- 40:30earth. He knew that the womb that was
- 40:34going to carry him was the womb of the
- 40:38grave.
- 40:39>> Amen.
- 40:49Begotten son.
- 41:00Buddha
- 41:01first born.
- 41:02>> Amen. Amen. Amen.
- 41:05>> So Jesus is becoming first born from the
- 41:09dead. And there's a reason for that.
- 41:12>> Mhm.
- 41:13>> The reason is that
- 41:16I said the virgin birth could not
- 41:19produce
- 41:22>> a firstborn.
- 41:23>> Mhm. because they would need for God to
- 41:27cause many sons to be born through the
- 41:30virgin birth.
- 41:31>> Yes. Yes.
- 41:32>> But they had they had to be born after
- 41:35Jesus
- 41:36>> for Jesus to become firstborn amongst
- 41:40many virgin birth sons. M
- 41:44>> but since the virgin birth was designed
- 41:47even through the prophecies of the likes
- 41:49of Isaiah
- 41:50>> for example in Isaiah 7:14 a virgin
- 41:53shall conceive and give birth to a son.
- 41:56Isaiah did not say virgins shall
- 42:00conceive. Isaiah had said a virgin shall
- 42:03conceive. So the virgin birth was going
- 42:06to be a singular event. Mhm.
- 42:11>> Therefore, the virgin birth was designed
- 42:13to give us a begotten son.
- 42:17>> In order for Jesus to be first born
- 42:19through the virgin birth,
- 42:22it was impossible because once a virgin
- 42:25has given birth,
- 42:27>> she cannot give birth again as a virgin.
- 42:29>> No. Oh yes.
- 42:30>> No.
- 42:31>> Yes.
- 42:32>> No.
- 42:32>> So even if 100,000 virgins give birth,
- 42:36there will still be no firstborn.
- 42:38>> Yes.
- 42:39>> [laughter]
- 42:45>> Hallelujah.
- 42:46>> Even if a million virgins are to give
- 42:49birth, there would not be a first born.
- 42:54>> One woman must have more than one son
- 42:58for [snorts]
- 42:59him for the first born to be coming out
- 43:03as
- 43:04>> first born.
- 43:05>> The first born.
- 43:08John 16.
- 43:11In John 16, I shall read a scripture
- 43:20that shall actually be very interesting
- 43:27in John 16
- 43:31>> 31 21
- 43:32>> 19
- 43:33>> verse 19. So after saying a little while
- 43:37we shall see not see me and again a
- 43:40little while we shall see me the people
- 43:42were confused. What is he talking about?
- 43:44Does he want to commit suicide?
- 43:46>> So they were asking about each other
- 43:49about this question.
- 43:50>> What does he mean when he say a little
- 43:53while you shall not see me and a little
- 43:55while you shall see me. Verse verse
- 43:57number 19. Now Jesus knew that they were
- 44:00desirous to ask him and said unto them,
- 44:04Do you inquire among yourselves of that
- 44:06I said a little while and you shall not
- 44:09see me and again a little while and you
- 44:11shall see me?
- 44:12>> Yes. Verily verily I say unto you that
- 44:15you shall weep and lament but the world
- 44:17shall rejoice and you shall be sorrowful
- 44:20but your sorrow shall be turned into
- 44:22joy. So he said to the apostles, "Look,
- 44:25when I said a little while you shall not
- 44:27see me, and a little while you shall see
- 44:31me,
- 44:32>> I mean that the you shall weep and
- 44:35lament."
- 44:35>> Yes.
- 44:36>> But the world shall rejoice.
- 44:38>> Yes.
- 44:38>> And you shall be sorrowful.
- 44:41>> But your sorrow shall be turned into
- 44:43joy.
- 44:43>> Amen.
- 44:45>> This is the little I was talking about.
- 44:48In verse 21, he elaborates
- 44:51>> on what he says, "Very soon you shall
- 44:54have joy." What do you mean?
- 44:56>> A woman when she is in travail has
- 44:59sorrow because her hour is come, but as
- 45:02soon as she is delivered of the child,
- 45:04she remembers no more the anguish. For
- 45:08joy that a man is born into the world.
- 45:10>> Yes. And you now therefore have sorrow,
- 45:14but I will see you again, and your heart
- 45:16shall rejoice, and your joy no man takes
- 45:20from you. So he says, look, the issue of
- 45:23my sorrow, you sorrowing about me for a
- 45:26little while, and then after that you
- 45:29shall be joyful. You know what a woman
- 45:31does when she's in deep pain delivering
- 45:35a child, she's in anguish
- 45:37because of labor pains. But as soon as
- 45:39the woman gives birth, the woman is so
- 45:42joyful about the baby boy
- 45:45>> that the woman is delivered and so she
- 45:48forgets her pain.
- 45:49>> Yes,
- 45:50>> you shall be there for sorrowful for a
- 45:52little while. But once I rise from the
- 45:55dead, I shall see you again
- 45:58>> and your heart shall rejoice.
- 46:00>> Amen. So this matter is actually very
- 46:04complex.
- 46:06Why does he talk about his death and
- 46:08resurrection
- 46:10and give an allegory
- 46:14of a pregnant woman
- 46:16>> when Jesus is died and Jesus is buried
- 46:19and Jesus then rises from the dead? How
- 46:23does this process of the crucifixion,
- 46:26the death, the burial and the
- 46:29resurrection of Jesus Christ, how can
- 46:32how does it fit to be illustrated
- 46:36through the
- 46:38eulogy of a pregnant woman travailing at
- 46:42birth and then delivering a male child
- 46:46only to rejoice after the baby is born
- 46:49to such an extent that she forgets
- 46:52the travailing through child birth.
- 46:56Our women do not forget the pain of
- 46:59child birth even after delivering a baby
- 47:03boy.
- 47:05>> Secondly,
- 47:06if this is just an example,
- 47:09does the baby have to be a boy?
- 47:15Right.
- 47:17If this this parable, it's a parable of
- 47:20a pregnant woman. Does the child has to
- 47:23be a boy for the woman to travail at
- 47:26child birth and rejoice so much that she
- 47:30forgets the sorrow the travailing as
- 47:33soon as the baby is born.
- 47:36Now if this if Jesus says the woman is
- 47:39travailing but what causes her to forget
- 47:42the travailing
- 47:43>> is that she has delivered a man child.
- 47:46Does that mean that when it is a girl
- 47:49child the woman will remember the pain?
- 47:53>> If does that mean that if it is a girl
- 47:55child the joy is not as much as it is
- 47:58when it is a man child.
- 48:31If if you have not forgotten This matter
- 48:34cannot this example could not stick.
- 48:37>> Mhm.
- 48:38>> If this woman in this illustration in
- 48:41this parable gives birth to a girl child
- 48:44>> because this boy child is supposed to
- 48:48and poised to become the first born
- 48:51which the girl child cannot assume.
- 48:54>> Yes.
- 48:54>> So even in the example the child must be
- 48:57a boy.
- 48:58>> Yes. Yes. Yes.
- 49:02But this is not the only reason. The
- 49:04actual reason, the actual reason,
- 49:06pastor, the most important reason
- 49:08>> is that the one giving the parable is
- 49:11the child that needs to be born.
- 49:13>> Amen. Amen.
- 49:16>> So this
- 49:17>> so he could not give the example of a
- 49:19girl child as though he was a female
- 49:21himself.
- 49:23>> Remember I was talking about his
- 49:24suffering, his death and his
- 49:27resurrection. How could he say as soon
- 49:29as a woman is delivered, she remembers
- 49:32no more the anguish for joy that a girl
- 49:36child is born into the world if he was
- 49:38talking about his resurrection. So the
- 49:42birth of this man child is his own
- 49:45resurrection. So the child had to be a
- 49:47man child.
- 49:48>> Yes.
- 49:50What's so interesting again is the way
- 49:53that it is written even when you were
- 49:56explaining to say [clears throat]
- 49:58it has to be a male child but the way
- 50:02they wrote it has to be a man it's only
- 50:05a man who can distribute
- 50:08>> yes
- 50:08>> the land the inheritance
- 50:11>> the inheritance of the father
- 50:12>> yes so can't be distributed by
- 50:15>> by a boy or a son but the way they wrote
- 50:19He knew that he was the man.
- 50:22>> Yes, he knew that
- 50:24a man child.
- 50:27[laughter]
- 50:29>> So the joy that a man is born into the
- 50:33world.
- 50:39It is it is only the resurrection
- 50:42>> that gives birth to a man and not a
- 50:46child. M
- 50:48>> the child was in the early stages pastor
- 50:51of the illustration of the parable.
- 50:54>> Yes.
- 50:56>> And [clears throat] he's saying that I
- 50:57am the main child who is yet to be born.
- 51:00>> Yes. I I'm not yet born. [clears throat]
- 51:02>> You you shall travail. So you haven't
- 51:04travailed yet. You are not travailing
- 51:06now. The travailing will start soon.
- 51:09Mhm.
- 51:10>> So
- 51:13if you look at this, you will see that
- 51:16the three days and three nights
- 51:18>> were not the days of pregnancy.
- 51:22>> The pregnancy had lasted 33 years.
- 51:25>> Amen.
- 51:26>> Yes.
- 51:26>> Amen.
- 51:27>> The three days and three nights
- 51:30>> are the
- 51:32labor hours.
- 51:35>> The woman goes into labor.
- 51:37>> Yes. And she then begins to travail
- 51:40>> for three days and three nights.
- 51:43>> They were travailing.
- 51:45>> The resurrection of Jesus Christ. A man
- 51:48is born into the world.
- 51:50>> Amen.
- 51:51>> So the woman must now celebrate
- 51:57>> the church. The body of apostles
- 52:00>> was supposed to thank God to be joyful
- 52:04>> that the the the the savior is risen. M
- 52:07[snorts]
- 52:07>> but what this parable does not tell us
- 52:12about the womb.
- 52:13>> Mhm.
- 52:14>> Because the story is about a woman.
- 52:17>> Yes.
- 52:18>> But then the child must be inside the
- 52:22womb.
- 52:23>> Yes. So the woman may be the church of
- 52:26Christ comprised of the apostles only at
- 52:29that time.
- 52:30>> The woman could also be the house of
- 52:32Israel as a whole.
- 52:34>> Mhm. But the womb
- 52:37>> had already been described in Matthew
- 52:3912.
- 52:40>> It is the belly of the earth. The heart
- 52:43of the earth.
- 52:44>> Yes.
- 52:44>> The grave.
- 52:46>> Yes.
- 52:47>> The grave
- 52:49is where Jesus came out from
- 52:53>> to become the first born.
- 52:57Why? Because if God is going to have
- 53:02many sons
- 53:03>> Mhm. Those many sons are not coming from
- 53:06the womb of a virgin.
- 53:09>> They are coming from a symmetry.
- 53:12>> This is why we read Ephesians chapter 2.
- 53:15And you were dead.
- 53:17>> Amen.
- 53:18>> And yet he quickened you.
- 53:21>> Yes. Yes.
- 53:22>> Because you were dead in your trespasses
- 53:25and in your sins. M.
- 53:27>> So the same way Jesus came out of the
- 53:30grave,
- 53:31>> we were going to come out of our graves,
- 53:34the graves of sin,
- 53:36>> and the graves of a false and a dead
- 53:39religion.
- 53:41>> We are coming out.
- 53:43And so when we are risen from the dead,
- 53:46>> we find out that someone rose ahead of
- 53:51us.
- 53:53>> So Pastor Schuma was raised from the
- 53:55dead. Pastor Shima jumps, I'm alive.
- 53:58>> Thank God.
- 53:59>> Yes.
- 54:00>> And someone says, "Shut up. We were
- 54:03alive so many years ago. Don't make
- 54:06noise." And Pastor Schuma says, "Who are
- 54:08you?"
- 54:09>> This one says, "I'm Aquila.
- 54:11>> I was resurrected in the time of Paul.
- 54:14Shut up."
- 54:15>> Yes.
- 54:16>> So you say, "So you are the first born."
- 54:20>> Says, "Shut up a
- 54:22>> You are not first born. I was born ahead
- 54:25of you.
- 54:26>> Yes.
- 54:26>> Yeah.
- 54:28>> Peter says to Barnabas, "Shut up,
- 54:30Barnabas. I was born ahead of you."
- 54:33>> Barnabas says to Peter, "So you are the
- 54:34first born." [laughter]
- 54:36And Paul says, "Please all of you shut
- 54:39up."
- 54:40>> Nobody is first born among us.
- 54:44>> There is already a first born
- 54:48among many brethren.
- 54:50>> Amen. Romans chapter 8 29 and 30.
- 54:56>> Romans chapter 8 28. It's 28.
- 55:00>> Mhm.
- 55:02And we know that all things work
- 55:04together for good to them that love God,
- 55:07to them who are the called according to
- 55:09his purpose.
- 55:10>> Yes. The purpose of God is important.
- 55:13>> Yes.
- 55:14>> Called the called the called
- 55:17>> according to his purpose. Yes.
- 55:32Yes.
- 55:37For whom he did for whom he did for he
- 55:40also did predestinate.
- 55:42>> So this is now the purpose that Romans
- 55:448:28 was talking about.
- 55:46>> Yes.
- 55:46>> You were you were known before. Mhm.
- 55:49>> Yes.
- 55:50>> To be conformed to the image of his son.
- 55:53>> He knew you before. He predestinated you
- 55:57to do what?
- 55:58>> To be conformed to the image of his son.
- 56:00>> To be conformed to the image of his son.
- 56:04Yes.
- 56:05>> That he might be the first born among
- 56:07many brethren.
- 56:08>> That Christ might be first born.
- 56:12>> Amen.
- 56:13>> Among many brethren. Yes.
- 56:15>> Amen.
- 56:16>> First born. firstborn among brethren.
- 56:20>> So believers,
- 56:22I will read you a scripture very soon
- 56:24that might shock you
- 56:26where Romans 8:29 is qualified.
- 56:31>> Mhm.
- 56:32>> But not yet
- 56:34Christ must be first born
- 56:36[clears throat] among many brethren.
- 56:39>> Which means he did not have brethren for
- 56:4333 years when he was here.
- 56:45>> Oh yes. The apostles were brethren to
- 56:49be.
- 56:51>> Yes.
- 56:51>> They were not yet brethren. Remember the
- 56:54message we shared
- 56:55>> on Sunday?
- 56:56>> Yes.
- 56:58>> We said
- 57:01the adoption could not take place until
- 57:03the cross.
- 57:04>> Amen.
- 57:05>> So even though Peter was appointed to be
- 57:07an apostle,
- 57:08>> yes,
- 57:09>> he could not have occupied the office of
- 57:11an apostle
- 57:12>> until he was himself adopted.
- 57:15>> Amen. Amen. So he needed the cross
- 57:18>> for him to also become a brethren.
- 57:21>> Yes. Yes.
- 57:22>> So Christ cannot become firstborn among
- 57:26brethren until he becomes born himself.
- 57:31>> Which birth makes him first born?
- 57:34[clears throat]
- 57:34>> Between the resurrection birth and the
- 57:37virgin birth.
- 57:38>> Amen.
- 57:39>> It's a question. Which birth
- 57:41>> makes him firstborn? All right.
- 57:43>> Between the resurrection birth
- 57:45>> and the virgin birth.
- 57:46>> Yes.
- 57:48>> Which birth makes him first born? The
- 57:50resurrection birth.
- 57:52>> So if Jesus is made first born by the
- 57:55resurrection,
- 57:56>> therefore
- 57:58there were there was no need for anyone
- 58:00to have brethren
- 58:02>> because you can't have brethren if
- 58:04there's no first born.
- 58:07>> The process of the family is the first
- 58:09born must be born first. Yes.
- 58:11>> What makes him first born is the first
- 58:13birth.
- 58:14>> Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
- 58:15>> He opens the matrix.
- 58:17>> The matrix of the grave.
- 58:19>> The matrix of the tomb.
- 58:21>> The matrix of death.
- 58:23>> The matrix of sin.
- 58:25>> The matrix of the deadness of
- 58:27transgressions and sinfulness.
- 58:30>> That is the matrix Jesus opened
- 58:33>> for him to be first born among brethren.
- 58:37>> Amen. [snorts] So if the resurrection
- 58:39makes him firstborn,
- 58:42therefore whoever shall become his
- 58:44brethren must wait for the firstborn to
- 58:48come first.
- 58:48>> Okay. [clears throat]
- 58:49>> Okay.
- 58:51>> So we are going to read Hebrews chapter
- 58:521 verse 1 to
- 58:565
- 58:58maybe six.
- 58:59>> Let's see how it goes.
- 59:02God who at sunry times and in diverse
- 59:05manner speak in time past unto the
- 59:08fathers by the prophets
- 59:09>> to the fathers by the prophets
- 59:11>> not grandfathers
- 59:12>> no no no there are no grandfathers
- 59:15pastor it's fathers all the time pastor
- 59:18we are forensic
- 59:21experts of scripture
- 59:24he spoke unto the fathers by the
- 59:27prophets not the ancestors not the
- 59:30forefathers
- 59:32They fathers
- 59:33>> the way to fathers is enough. Amen.
- 59:36>> It doesn't need to be prefixed. It
- 59:38doesn't need to be suffixed.
- 59:40>> Yes. [laughter]
- 59:42>> What is this? God does.
- 59:44>> As in these last days spoken unto us by
- 59:47his son whom he has appointed heir of
- 59:50all things by whom also he made the
- 59:53world.
- 59:54>> Now if you look at verse two,
- 59:56>> it already tells us that Christ is the
- 59:59first born.
- 1:00:00Yes.
- 1:00:01>> By telling us that is the
- 1:00:04>> is the is the crown prince.
- 1:00:06>> God has appointed him of all things.
- 1:00:09Highlight that part. If you know the
- 1:00:11customs and traditions of Israel, you
- 1:00:14know that
- 1:00:15>> this is a description of the first born.
- 1:00:18>> Amen.
- 1:00:19>> Yes.
- 1:00:20>> Amen.
- 1:00:20>> He has been appointed heir
- 1:00:23>> of all things. Yes.
- 1:00:25>> The first
- 1:00:27[clears throat]
- 1:00:28verse three. Who being the brightness of
- 1:00:30his glory?
- 1:00:31>> Yes.
- 1:00:31>> And the express image of his person.
- 1:00:34Yes.
- 1:00:34>> And upholding all things by the word of
- 1:00:37his power. Power.
- 1:00:38>> When he had by himself paged our sins,
- 1:00:41Yes.
- 1:00:41>> sat down on the right hand of the majest
- 1:00:43on high.
- 1:00:44>> Four.
- 1:00:45>> Being made so much better than the
- 1:00:47angels.
- 1:00:47>> Christ was made so much better.
- 1:00:52>> Yes.
- 1:00:52>> Amen.
- 1:00:54Amen.
- 1:00:55>> Yes. Amen. Christ was made what?
- 1:00:58>> So much better.
- 1:00:59>> So much better than what?
- 1:01:01>> Than the angels.
- 1:01:02>> Than angels. Why? How?
- 1:01:04>> As he has by inheritance obtained a more
- 1:01:08excellent name than they.
- 1:01:10>> Okay, let's see.
- 1:01:11>> For unto which of the angels said he at
- 1:01:14any time, thou art my son, this day have
- 1:01:17I begotten thee, and again I will be to
- 1:01:21him a father, and he shall be to me a
- 1:01:24son. Yes. And again when he brings in
- 1:01:26the first begotten into the world he
- 1:01:29says and let all the angels of God
- 1:01:33worship him.
- 1:01:34>> You see now so it's a description of the
- 1:01:37whole matter
- 1:01:38>> from the first begotten birth
- 1:01:42>> to the firstborn birth.
- 1:01:44>> So you will see that verse two addresses
- 1:01:47him as the firstborn.
- 1:01:49>> Yes.
- 1:01:49>> Amen.
- 1:01:50>> Verse six addresses him as the first
- 1:01:53begotten. in the world.
- 1:01:57>> You understand?
- 1:01:58>> Amen.
- 1:02:00>> Amen.
- 1:02:00>> So
- 1:02:03this is a matter that is settled.
- 1:02:07>> Yes.
- 1:02:08>> Is concerning our spiritual existence.
- 1:02:12Christ is the firstborn.
- 1:02:15>> That is what it boils down to.
- 1:02:37Amen. Amen. [clears throat]
- 1:02:45Born again,
- 1:02:47>> regeneration. Oh yeah.
- 1:02:51>> [snorts]
- 1:02:58>> Yes. Yes.
- 1:03:09first born.
- 1:03:11>> Mhm.
- 1:03:22Verse
- 1:03:34[snorts]
- 1:03:40number two. Let's go back to verse
- 1:03:41number two. God did not give him a
- 1:03:45double portion. He gave him everything.
- 1:03:48>> Yes.
- 1:03:49So what the firstborn gets in
- 1:03:52Deuteronomy 21
- 1:03:55>> is less than what God gave to his only
- 1:03:57begott to his own first born.
- 1:04:00>> Yes. Yes.
- 1:04:01>> According to Deuteronomy 21, the
- 1:04:04firstborn gets double.
- 1:04:06>> Yeah.
- 1:04:07>> Of what other sons get in the
- 1:04:09inheritance.
- 1:04:10>> And this is what we find
- 1:04:12>> in Genesis 48:22. Read that again in
- 1:04:15your own time.
- 1:04:18After delivering or after distributing
- 1:04:22some gift to all his 12 sons,
- 1:04:25>> Jacob then gave another piece of land to
- 1:04:29Joseph. The Bible says besides or apart
- 1:04:33from
- 1:04:35>> what he had given all his other sons
- 1:04:38what what that makes Joseph
- 1:04:41>> is that he becomes the apparent in
- 1:04:45Jacob's house the crown prince
- 1:04:48>> the birthright holder
- 1:04:52>> and we said this we will show you now we
- 1:04:55will show you now pastor you coming in
- 1:04:57very soon I want you to know that when
- 1:05:00it comes to the absence of the father,
- 1:05:04the whole estate of the father
- 1:05:06>> goes into the hands of the firstborn.
- 1:05:09[clears throat]
- 1:05:10>> Whatever portion any other son must get,
- 1:05:14>> it is distributed by the firstborn.
- 1:05:16>> Yes.
- 1:05:17>> And we said this is why Joshua
- 1:05:22>> was appointed to distribute land
- 1:05:25>> to the 12 patriarchs.
- 1:05:27>> Amen. Mhm.
- 1:05:27>> Because Joshua is an Ephraimite
- 1:05:30>> and Ephraim is the firstborn son
- 1:05:33>> of Jacob.
- 1:05:35>> Very complicated. We are becoming
- 1:05:37sophisticated in Jesus revelation
- 1:05:39ministries. Zlug is now like a PhD a
- 1:05:44school for for spiritual students. You
- 1:05:48you sound like you are doing PhD in some
- 1:05:51spiritual stuff. We don't want to use
- 1:05:54the word theology because it's it's it's
- 1:05:57It's convoluted.
- 1:05:59But you you you you can't speak to
- 1:06:02people from the Salvation Army about
- 1:06:04these matters. You can't speak to the
- 1:06:07people who come from the papa churches,
- 1:06:09the prophetic churches and tell them all
- 1:06:12these matters. People will say much
- 1:06:15learning has made you mad Paul [snorts]
- 1:06:18and Paul said I am not beside myself
- 1:06:20king agria
- 1:06:23[laughter]
- 1:06:24but I speak things that are of a truth
- 1:06:27>> anyway let's leave this one I I but I
- 1:06:30think let's go back a little bit
- 1:06:33>> let's go back to Hebrews chapter 1 verse
- 1:06:35two a little bit
- 1:06:36>> and go to Hebrews chapter 2 as well
- 1:06:41>> yes verse two has in these last days
- 1:06:44spoken unto us by his son whom he has
- 1:06:47appointed heir of all things by whom
- 1:06:50also he made the worlds. This is the
- 1:06:52point.
- 1:06:53>> God has appointed Christ
- 1:06:56of all things.
- 1:06:58>> And so we we talked about the law of the
- 1:07:02birthright
- 1:07:03>> from Deuteronomy 21. We don't have time
- 1:07:05to read it.
- 1:07:06>> Oh yeah.
- 1:07:07>> We know the first born must get a double
- 1:07:10portions.
- 1:07:10>> Yes. But when we look at the scripture
- 1:07:13on the screen now,
- 1:07:15>> God has gone above and beyond
- 1:07:18>> the prescriptions
- 1:07:20>> of Deuterom 21.
- 1:07:22>> Yes.
- 1:07:23>> You understand?
- 1:07:24>> Yes.
- 1:07:25>> It must be Deuteronomy 21.
- 1:07:29Maybe it begins from verse 15. Let's
- 1:07:32look at it.
- 1:07:33>> Verse 15 says, "If a man have two wives,
- 1:07:35>> a you see,
- 1:07:37>> if a man has two wives, what? One
- 1:07:39beloved [laughter]
- 1:07:40>> and another hated.
- 1:07:42>> Yes.
- 1:07:42>> And they have borne him children,
- 1:07:45>> both the beloved and the hated. And if
- 1:07:48the firstborn son be has that was hated,
- 1:07:51then it shall be when he makes his sons
- 1:07:54to inherit that which he has, that he
- 1:07:57may not make the son of the beloved
- 1:08:00firstborn before the son of the hated.
- 1:08:02>> Yes.
- 1:08:02>> Which is indeed the firstborn.
- 1:08:04>> 17. But he shall acknowledge the son of
- 1:08:07the hated for the firstborn.
- 1:08:08>> How does he acknowledge the firstborn?
- 1:08:11>> By giving him a double portion of all
- 1:08:14that he has.
- 1:08:15>> So the father must acknowledge
- 1:08:18the firstborn in his house. The true
- 1:08:21firstborn.
- 1:08:22>> Yeah.
- 1:08:23>> By giving him a double portion of all
- 1:08:25that he has.
- 1:08:27>> For he is the beginning of his strength.
- 1:08:30>> The right of the first born is his. You
- 1:08:34see the Holy Spirit talked about this
- 1:08:36scripture to me a long time ago and
- 1:08:39after every couple of months I would
- 1:08:40come back to said what does he want me
- 1:08:42to learn about this?
- 1:08:44>> He said to me you need to learn this
- 1:08:47thing and when you learn this thing you
- 1:08:50understand
- 1:08:51a how a pure generation can be born. And
- 1:08:57I kept on wondering very interesting
- 1:09:00scripture with a very inter interesting
- 1:09:03diction as well.
- 1:09:05>> The right of the first born is his.
- 1:09:08Which means the first born issue must
- 1:09:12have someone with a natural right to it.
- 1:09:17>> You can't have five sons and you say my
- 1:09:19mother told me to choose this one. This
- 1:09:21one is the first born. Uh uh you don't
- 1:09:24cast lots
- 1:09:25>> to find the firstborn.
- 1:09:27>> Uhhuh.
- 1:09:28>> And yet 90% or 99.9%
- 1:09:33>> of all Gentiles in the world don't
- 1:09:36[snorts] know what is a firstborn.
- 1:09:43You meet people in the street, they say
- 1:09:44this one is my first born. That one is
- 1:09:47my second born. [clears throat]
- 1:09:50First born
- 1:09:59first born born.
- 1:10:02Hey.
- 1:10:11Mhm.
- 1:10:30The Gentiles don't know
- 1:10:32who is what is the meaning of the word
- 1:10:36firstborn.
- 1:10:38>> They think that the first child to be
- 1:10:41born is first born.
- 1:10:46Dear first born yeah
- 1:10:50>> I'm sure we we shall hear from them
- 1:10:53after this message
- 1:10:55that they will start to say I only
- 1:10:58learned it when I came to z
- 1:11:00>> yes
- 1:11:02>> including girls are first born
- 1:11:05>> including bastards are first born yeah
- 1:11:09>> it was when you came here
- 1:11:11>> that you learned that you may actually
- 1:11:14have 10 children
- 1:11:16>> and have no first.
- 1:11:17>> That's right.
- 1:11:18>> Yes.
- 1:11:19>> There was a time when Jacob had 11
- 1:11:22children
- 1:11:23>> and he was wallowing in sorrow and
- 1:11:26misery. He almost died of heart attack.
- 1:11:3211 children
- 1:11:35first born.
- 1:11:36>> When he heard that the firstborn was
- 1:11:38alive, his spirit was revived. Yes,
- 1:11:43>> it was revived.
- 1:11:44>> Yes.
- 1:11:46>> Amen.
- 1:11:51[laughter]
- 1:11:56[laughter]
- 1:12:12born.
- 1:12:24Yes.
- 1:12:30Amen.
- 1:12:32Once you claim to be first born,
- 1:12:34>> you are saying in your hands is the
- 1:12:37blessing of the whole tribe.
- 1:12:47[laughter]
- 1:12:54>> [laughter]
- 1:13:00[laughter]
- 1:13:01>> What is security
- 1:13:09[laughter]
- 1:13:10pastor?
- 1:13:27first born.
- 1:13:35Yes.
- 1:13:45Amen.
- 1:13:58Amen.
- 1:14:01>> Hallelujah.
- 1:14:03>> Amen. Amen.
- 1:14:04>> Joseph was able to feed all of them
- 1:14:08>> because the blessing of the firstborn
- 1:14:10was by God placed upon him.
- 1:14:13>> Amen. Amen.
- 1:14:27So
- 1:14:30first
- 1:14:33I was even
- 1:14:42born.
- 1:14:50M.
- 1:15:00Yes. Yes.
- 1:15:24>> [laughter]
- 1:15:26>> So
- 1:15:27we are Gentiles who claim things we have
- 1:15:31no idea about.
- 1:15:35>> Now think about it, pastor.
- 1:15:38If a family does not know if they ever
- 1:15:42had a first born,
- 1:15:45>> this generation has no first born. The
- 1:15:47previous generation has no first born.
- 1:15:59I think
- 1:16:18festival
- 1:16:32Yes.
- 1:16:38Family
- 1:16:40blessing. Yes.
- 1:16:54judge.
- 1:16:59[clears throat]
- 1:17:18[laughter]
- 1:17:22>> [snorts]
- 1:17:33>> Yes.
- 1:17:52Yeah.
- 1:18:01>> So fathers appear to be not very
- 1:18:05informed of what happens in the family
- 1:18:08>> and yet they are playing their roles
- 1:18:10perfectly.
- 1:18:11>> Amen.
- 1:18:12some issues that happen to children
- 1:18:15>> cannot be discussed with them in the in
- 1:18:18the aftermath.
- 1:18:21So let's leave this one.
- 1:18:24Jesus is the first begotten
- 1:18:27>> but is also the first born.
- 1:18:30>> Yes.
- 1:18:30>> The first begotten gives us a raw
- 1:18:34material for the first born.
- 1:18:36>> Amen.
- 1:18:36>> Because he could not have died if he was
- 1:18:40not born. He needed to be born first
- 1:18:43>> in order for him to die. [clears throat]
- 1:18:45>> Then the resurrection,
- 1:18:48>> yes,
- 1:18:48>> which we were waiting for,
- 1:18:51>> it was the resurrection
- 1:18:53>> that gave us the first born
- 1:18:56>> from the dead, the first born from
- 1:19:00[snorts] the grave.
- 1:19:01>> Hebrews chapter 2:1.
- 1:19:03Therefore, we ought to give them more
- 1:19:06earnest heed to the things which we have
- 1:19:09heard, lest at any time we should let
- 1:19:11them sleep.
- 1:19:12>> Yes. For if the word spoken by angels
- 1:19:15were steadfast, and every transgression
- 1:19:18and disobedience received a just
- 1:19:20recompense of reward, how shall we
- 1:19:23escape if we neglect so great salvation,
- 1:19:27which at the first began to be spoken by
- 1:19:30the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by
- 1:19:33them that he had him. Yes.
- 1:19:35>> God also bearing them witness both with
- 1:19:38signs and wonders and with diverse
- 1:19:41miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit
- 1:19:44according to his own will.
- 1:19:45>> Five.
- 1:19:46>> For unto the angels has he not put in
- 1:19:49subjection the world to come whereof off
- 1:19:52we speak.
- 1:19:53>> Ah [clears throat]
- 1:19:54>> for unto angels.
- 1:19:56>> Yes. God has not put in subjections
- 1:20:01the world to come where off we speak.
- 1:20:05>> So you will see that in verse five
- 1:20:08>> is literally saying the world to come
- 1:20:11was also given to Christ.
- 1:20:14>> Amen. Amen.
- 1:20:15>> He could not give them give it to
- 1:20:18angels.
- 1:20:23Mhm.
- 1:20:31[clears throat]
- 1:20:39You want to go to heaven?
- 1:20:41God has already given heaven to Christ.
- 1:20:44>> Hallelujah. [laughter]
- 1:20:45>> Amen. The world to come
- 1:20:48>> was not given to angels. M
- 1:20:51>> verse six.
- 1:20:52>> But one in a certain place testified,
- 1:20:55saying,
- 1:20:55>> "Yes,
- 1:20:56>> what is man?"
- 1:20:57>> What is men
- 1:20:58>> that thou art mindful of him?
- 1:21:00>> What is man?
- 1:21:00>> Or the son of man,
- 1:21:02>> the son of man,
- 1:21:02>> that thou visitest him.
- 1:21:04>> So the virgin Beth gave us the son of
- 1:21:07man. Amen.
- 1:21:08>> The son of David, the son of Israel.
- 1:21:11>> Yes.
- 1:21:11>> Verse seven.
- 1:21:13>> Thou madeest him a little lower than the
- 1:21:15angels.
- 1:21:16>> The son of man was made a little lower
- 1:21:18than the angels. Yes,
- 1:21:19>> thou cranest him with glory and honor,
- 1:21:22>> but [clears throat] later grow crowned
- 1:21:24him with glory and honor
- 1:21:26>> and didest set him over the works of thy
- 1:21:30hands.
- 1:21:30>> So those who want to read this, you
- 1:21:32might read this in Psalm 84-6.
- 1:21:34>> Yes,
- 1:21:35>> in your own time. Verse 8,
- 1:21:37>> thou has put all things in subjection
- 1:21:39under his feet.
- 1:21:40>> So he's still reading. Yes,
- 1:21:43>> Paul was quoting from Psalm 8. Yes.
- 1:21:46>> God has put all things
- 1:21:49>> in subjection under his feet.
- 1:21:52>> Yes.
- 1:21:52>> Yes.
- 1:21:53>> For in that he put all in subjection
- 1:21:55under him. He left nothing that is not
- 1:21:58put under him. [clears throat] But now
- 1:22:00we see not yet all things put under him.
- 1:22:03>> Put the words he left nothing that is
- 1:22:07not put under him on a highlight.
- 1:22:18He left nothing.
- 1:22:21>> You want eternal life, he left nothing.
- 1:22:23Amen.
- 1:22:24>> You want miracles, he left nothing. You
- 1:22:27want healing, he left nothing.
- 1:22:30>> You want a child, he left nothing.
- 1:22:33>> Yes,
- 1:22:33>> that is not put under Christ.
- 1:22:37>> What are we proving now, Apostle Chuena?
- 1:22:40where we are proving that Christ
- 1:22:44has become a very powerful firstborn
- 1:22:50>> after the resurrection.
- 1:22:52>> Right?
- 1:22:52>> And so we need to understand what it
- 1:22:56means that Christ is the firstborn son
- 1:22:59of God.
- 1:23:01>> Where does he take this title from?
- 1:23:04>> Yes.
- 1:23:04>> And what does this title empower him to
- 1:23:08do?
- 1:23:09And what are the benefits of us?
- 1:23:12>> What do we benefit [clears throat]
- 1:23:14>> when Christ becomes
- 1:23:17first born?
- 1:23:18>> Amen. Amen.
- 1:23:19>> He left nothing
- 1:23:21>> that is not put under him. Yes.
- 1:23:24>> But we see Jesus.
- 1:23:25>> We see Jesus
- 1:23:26>> who was made a little lower than a
- 1:23:29little lower than the angels
- 1:23:30>> for the suffering of death. crowned with
- 1:23:33the glory and honor
- 1:23:34>> that he by the grace of God should taste
- 1:23:37death for every man.
- 1:23:39>> For it became him
- 1:23:41>> for whom are all things and by whom are
- 1:23:44all things in bringing many sons unto
- 1:23:47glory?
- 1:23:48>> Many sons unto glory. After
- 1:23:52conquering death
- 1:23:54>> and having had all things put under him
- 1:23:57and nothing was not put under him,
- 1:24:01>> he became captain of our salvation
- 1:24:04through sufferings.
- 1:24:06>> He is bringing many sons unto glory.
- 1:24:10>> Yes.
- 1:24:10>> So if nothing is not put under him,
- 1:24:15>> it means all men and all women of the
- 1:24:18earth are also put under him. Amen.
- 1:24:21>> Amen.
- 1:24:21>> This is why when we go out to preach
- 1:24:24because he Jesus
- 1:24:26>> has sent us to preach,
- 1:24:28>> we don't worry about what shall happen
- 1:24:30there.
- 1:24:31>> Amen.
- 1:24:31>> And we know we will come back with the
- 1:24:33souls harvested for him.
- 1:24:35>> Amen.
- 1:24:36>> Because even the toughest of people and
- 1:24:39the most hard-hearted people,
- 1:24:42>> they were put under him.
- 1:24:43>> Amen. He can soften their hearts
- 1:24:46>> if he wants to save them
- 1:24:48>> from their own destructions.
- 1:24:51>> Let's continue. We want to read up to
- 1:24:53verse 14.
- 1:24:54>> To make the captain of their salvation
- 1:24:56perfect through sufferings.
- 1:24:58>> Verse 11.
- 1:24:59>> For both he that sanctifies and they who
- 1:25:01are sanctified
- 1:25:02>> are all of one. For which cause is not
- 1:25:04ashamed to call them brethren,
- 1:25:06>> saying, I will declare thy name unto my
- 1:25:09brethren. In the midst of the church
- 1:25:11will I sing praise unto thee.
- 1:25:13>> And again I will put my trust in him.
- 1:25:16And again behold I and the children
- 1:25:19which God has given me. So for God has
- 1:25:22also put children in his hands.
- 1:25:25>> Yes.
- 1:25:26>> I and the children which God has given
- 1:25:30me.
- 1:25:31>> So you and I,
- 1:25:33>> we are children
- 1:25:35>> that God has given to Christ.
- 1:25:37>> Hallelujah.
- 1:25:43Yes.
- 1:25:48Amen. Yes. Amen.
- 1:26:00Amen. [clears throat] Verse 14.
- 1:26:02>> For as much then as the children are
- 1:26:04partakers of flesh and blood.
- 1:26:07Aha.
- 1:26:10>> Yes. Yes.
- 1:26:12>> All
- 1:26:15>> this issue is about inheritance.
- 1:26:19>> Yes.
- 1:26:20>> Sharing the wealth of the father.
- 1:26:24>> Do you know what? Children share the
- 1:26:28wealth of their father as long as they
- 1:26:31are flesh and blood.
- 1:26:33>> Yes.
- 1:26:34>> To him.
- 1:26:34>> Yes. M
- 1:26:35>> so
- 1:26:37>> he also himself likewise took part of
- 1:26:40the same that through death he might
- 1:26:43destroy him that is the power of death
- 1:26:46that is the devil and [clears throat]
- 1:26:48delivered them
- 1:26:50>> uh who through fear of death
- 1:26:52>> we are we are now in verse 15 yes
- 1:26:55>> yes were all their lifetime subject to
- 1:26:58bondage
- 1:26:59>> you see no no before you go to verse 16
- 1:27:02>> m
- 1:27:03>> after defeating the devil.
- 1:27:05>> Mhm.
- 1:27:06>> In verse 14,
- 1:27:08>> he then says, "The firstborn had a duty
- 1:27:13>> to deliver those who through fear of
- 1:27:16death were all their lifetime subject to
- 1:27:21bondage."
- 1:27:22>> Amen.
- 1:27:24>> Do you know that there are so many
- 1:27:26businesses in the world
- 1:27:28>> that are thriving today [clears throat]
- 1:27:31>> because people are afraid of death? M
- 1:27:35>> the fear of death
- 1:27:37>> Mhm.
- 1:27:37>> has given
- 1:27:40a huge profits
- 1:27:42>> to insurance companies.
- 1:27:45>> The fear of death
- 1:27:46>> Yes.
- 1:27:47>> is why pharmaceutical companies continue
- 1:27:51to increase the price of pharmaceutical
- 1:27:54drugs. M
- 1:27:55>> the fear of death
- 1:27:57>> is why we always hope that when we have
- 1:28:01the most expensive medical aid
- 1:28:04>> we might live longer.
- 1:28:06>> Sometimes it doesn't make a difference.
- 1:28:10>> Someone pays $100,000 more
- 1:28:14>> in their medical aid expenses than the
- 1:28:16other one. M
- 1:28:18>> their medical aid subscriptions
- 1:28:20>> but you will end up going to the same
- 1:28:22hospital
- 1:28:24>> receiving the same treatment.
- 1:28:26>> They make you believe that once you have
- 1:28:29money you should pay more
- 1:28:32>> because after paying more you will get
- 1:28:34more.
- 1:28:35>> And there are industries that were
- 1:28:38established because people are afraid of
- 1:28:41death.
- 1:28:42>> Yes.
- 1:28:43But once you become a child of God,
- 1:28:47because salvation is resurrection by
- 1:28:50nature,
- 1:28:51>> the resurrection from the death of sins
- 1:28:55and transgression.
- 1:28:57>> You are naturally
- 1:28:59emboldened in your salvation. M
- 1:29:02>> you are no longer scared of death
- 1:29:05because Christ the captain of our
- 1:29:08salvation
- 1:29:09>> has delivered us
- 1:29:11who through fear of death were our old
- 1:29:15lifetime
- 1:29:16>> yes
- 1:29:17>> our lifetimes subject to bondage
- 1:29:20>> bondage.
- 1:29:22>> So it is disgraceful for a believer to
- 1:29:26be afraid of death
- 1:29:28>> because you are still held in your
- 1:29:30lifetime. Yes.
- 1:29:31>> In the bondage of the fear of death,
- 1:29:34>> which Hebrews 2:15 [clears throat] is
- 1:29:37saying, Christ delivered those.
- 1:29:40>> Amen.
- 1:29:40>> Whom he saved through his captain.
- 1:29:44>> Amen.
- 1:29:45>> You are no longer your own lifetime
- 1:29:47subject to bondage of the fear of death.
- 1:29:51>> Highlight the words fear of death.
- 1:29:55>> Are you held by the fear of death?
- 1:29:58Are you afraid of dying?
- 1:30:01This is my question tonight.
- 1:30:09[laughter]
- 1:30:11How do you respond to a a a nightmare
- 1:30:16when you dream and in your dream you see
- 1:30:19yourself dying and then they are also
- 1:30:23attending your funeral. [laughter]
- 1:30:26Some are even doing body viewing. Some
- 1:30:28are fighting over rice and meat at your
- 1:30:31funeral. And when you wake up, you say,
- 1:30:34"Oh,
- 1:30:36I shall not die. I shall live to
- 1:30:39proclaim the goodness of the Lord." I
- 1:30:41shall not die, but I will live to
- 1:30:43proclaim the goodness of the Lord.
- 1:30:45[laughter]
- 1:30:47>> Try to do that and see whether you shall
- 1:30:50reach 150 years old.
- 1:30:53>> Just a mega
- 1:30:55150, you will not get there. No.
- 1:30:58>> Are you afraid of dying?
- 1:31:02>> If you are afraid of dying, either you
- 1:31:05haven't received Holy Spirit
- 1:31:08genuinely or you are a baby in the
- 1:31:11faith.
- 1:31:23Yes. Yes.
- 1:31:30Amen.
- 1:31:44Amen.
- 1:32:07I made that prayer
- 1:32:09when I was involved in the accident. I
- 1:32:12said, "I'm not going to ask you to save
- 1:32:14my life." Mhm.
- 1:32:16>> And I'm going to ask you to save these
- 1:32:19children that I was involved in this
- 1:32:22accident with
- 1:32:24>> for the second time.
- 1:32:25>> Amen.
- 1:32:26>> I lost three children in the first
- 1:32:28accident. I don't want to lose anyone
- 1:32:31this time.
- 1:32:32>> It's better for me to die than for any
- 1:32:35one of these children to die.
- 1:32:37>> Amen.
- 1:32:38>> And and as when I speak to you like
- 1:32:40this, I'm not making things up.
- 1:32:43I did not carry myself from the scene of
- 1:32:46the accident to the hospital.
- 1:32:48>> It means those who who rescued me were
- 1:32:52inside that car.
- 1:32:54>> Either they had me praying or I'm lying.
- 1:32:57There are not three ways about it.
- 1:33:00>> So when I talk to you about not fearing
- 1:33:02death, I'm not trying to be strong
- 1:33:05because I'm your preacher. No, this is
- 1:33:07my life. I don't I'm not afraid of
- 1:33:10dying.
- 1:33:12I used to fear death a long time ago.
- 1:33:15>> But what he has showed me has proved to
- 1:33:18me that he's more powerful than any make
- 1:33:22or model of a gun.
- 1:33:24>> Amen.
- 1:33:25>> You can point a gun at me, I will never
- 1:33:27shake.
- 1:33:28>> I've made peace with death a long time
- 1:33:31ago.
- 1:33:33>> What shall I fear?
- 1:33:35>> Whether I live or I die, I still am in
- 1:33:38his hands.
- 1:33:40Amen.
- 1:33:41>> This is the life of a true child of God.
- 1:33:44>> Amen. Amen.
- 1:33:46>> He defeated the devil in verse 14.
- 1:33:49>> Yes.
- 1:33:50>> And he is now ready. He says, "Children
- 1:33:53are partakers of flesh and blood."
- 1:33:56>> He also himself took part of flesh and
- 1:33:59blood
- 1:33:59>> that through death.
- 1:34:01>> Yes.
- 1:34:02>> In brackets inside flesh and blood.
- 1:34:04>> Yes. He wanted to destroy the devil
- 1:34:08>> that had power of death.
- 1:34:11>> Now that the devil was defeated
- 1:34:14>> by our firstborn.
- 1:34:15>> Yes.
- 1:34:16>> Verse 15 says, look,
- 1:34:20he wants to deliver those who through
- 1:34:22fear of death.
- 1:34:24>> Were all their lifetime subject to
- 1:34:27bondage.
- 1:34:36Yes. Yes.
- 1:35:17The devil has taken advantage of your
- 1:35:21fear of death toward you to ransom.
- 1:35:25You are a kidnapped soul because of your
- 1:35:29fear of death.
- 1:35:31>> Yes.
- 1:35:31>> But this fear of death, you were in this
- 1:35:35fear all your lifetime
- 1:35:38>> and because of that you were in a
- 1:35:40subject to bondage situation.
- 1:35:43>> Yes.
- 1:35:44>> We expect the fear of death to vanish
- 1:35:48the moment you are born again. Amen.
- 1:35:50>> Because
- 1:35:52where there is the spirit of God, there
- 1:35:55is no fear.
- 1:35:57>> Yes.
- 1:35:59>> Yes.
- 1:35:59>> We have not received the spirit of fear
- 1:36:03>> unto bondage.
- 1:36:05>> But we have received the spirit
- 1:36:08>> of faith and boldness and a sound mind.
- 1:36:11>> Amen. [snorts] Amen.
- 1:36:12>> Amen.
- 1:36:13>> Why you afraid of death?
- 1:36:16>> Are you a fake child of God?
- 1:36:20Maybe there's something you are doing in
- 1:36:22your life that you know that if you die
- 1:36:25today because of that
- 1:36:27>> you will not make it to heaven.
- 1:36:30>> Why are you doing masa
- 1:36:33with your salvation?
- 1:36:37>> How many people avoided death because
- 1:36:40they feared it?
- 1:36:44>> How many people have lived for hundreds
- 1:36:47of years? God having spared them because
- 1:36:51he saw them trembling in fear of death.
- 1:36:56Even those who are afraid of death, they
- 1:36:58will die in fear.
- 1:36:59>> Yes.
- 1:37:00>> So whether you fear death or you don't,
- 1:37:02you still die.
- 1:37:03>> Yes.
- 1:37:05>> You're wasting time on something you
- 1:37:07cannot change.
- 1:37:09>> Why don't you make your way right with
- 1:37:12God?
- 1:37:12>> Amen.
- 1:37:13>> Straighten your walking in God.
- 1:37:16>> Yes. So that you know that whether you
- 1:37:18die tomorrow or today or the next day,
- 1:37:21>> you are fine.
- 1:37:22>> Amen.
- 1:37:23>> You have peace of mind.
- 1:37:25>> If somebody says I had a terrible dream
- 1:37:27about you, tell him keep your terrible
- 1:37:30dream. Here I have good news from my
- 1:37:33dreams but from the holy scriptures.
- 1:37:36Jesus is our savior. Repent and be
- 1:37:40saved.
- 1:37:40>> Amen.
- 1:37:41>> Amen.
- 1:37:41>> Why waste time on transmitting dreams?
- 1:37:47How many people dreamed having gotten
- 1:37:50billions and got them
- 1:37:53[clears throat]
- 1:38:13>> [laughter]
- 1:38:18>> party
- 1:38:20Zimbabwe democracy efforts
- 1:38:25Africa international whatever
- 1:38:28pastor I want to recruit you to my
- 1:38:30political party you shall be the
- 1:38:32chairperson of the women league pastor
- 1:38:34Jumai want to recruit you to my
- 1:38:36political party you shall be the
- 1:38:37commisser
- 1:38:39[laughter]
- 1:38:41and then you ask me as God sanctioned
- 1:38:44this I said you know pastor it's a dream
- 1:38:48>> last night pastor I was addressing a
- 1:38:51congress it was a rally
- 1:38:53>> and and everyone was saying go
- 1:38:58>> you sit me down and say apostle there is
- 1:39:00no end to the nonsense of dreams
- 1:39:04[snorts]
- 1:39:05>> uh Yes.
- 1:39:06>> And we know that the Bible does not
- 1:39:09encourage people to live their lives
- 1:39:12based on what they dream.
- 1:39:14>> Don't listen to your dreams.
- 1:39:16>> Dreams are not a spiritual gift.
- 1:39:18>> No.
- 1:39:19>> Ecclesiastes chapter 5.
- 1:39:22>> Here we are people of the book.
- 1:39:24>> Yes.
- 1:39:25>> Verse three. Mhm.
- 1:39:28>> For a dream comes through the multitude
- 1:39:31of business and a fool's voice is known
- 1:39:34by multitude of words.
- 1:39:36>> Mhm.
- 1:39:36>> What brings dreams? Pastor Chuma from
- 1:39:39the biblical definition. You know,
- 1:39:41Pastor Chuma,
- 1:39:43people must be thanking God for such a
- 1:39:46ministry.
- 1:39:47>> Amen. We are rich with so much sound
- 1:39:51understanding.
- 1:39:52>> Yes. Imagine you are you are you are
- 1:39:55feeling that it's time for you to get
- 1:39:58married.
- 1:39:59>> You start dreaming a beautiful girls
- 1:40:05[laughter]
- 1:40:08>> and you start see
- 1:40:42But there was a time in Mut
- 1:40:45>> when we met a boy who in Zoja who was
- 1:40:49looking for those guys who are good in
- 1:40:51art drawing.
- 1:40:52>> Mhm.
- 1:40:53>> So he had a dream of a beautiful girl.
- 1:40:55>> All right.
- 1:40:56>> He wanted to draw the face of the girl
- 1:40:59so that he can go into different za
- 1:41:02assemblies in search of that girl. He
- 1:41:04believed that that girl was somewhere he
- 1:41:07wanted to marry.
- 1:41:08>> All right.
- 1:41:09>> All right.
- 1:41:11>> Yeah. Corot.
- 1:41:13[laughter]
- 1:41:15>> What about a dream pastor? Read it
- 1:41:17again.
- 1:41:18>> For your dream comes through the
- 1:41:19multitude of business.
- 1:41:21>> If you are into sports betting, you have
- 1:41:23dreams of you winning the lotto. You win
- 1:41:27the bet and only to realize it was a
- 1:41:29dream in the morning. If you are a
- 1:41:31footballer, in your dreams you score
- 1:41:34more goals than in real time.
- 1:41:36>> For a dream comes through the multitude
- 1:41:41of activities.
- 1:41:43And a fool's voice is known by a
- 1:41:46multitude of words. Look at how the word
- 1:41:49f is connected to the word dream.
- 1:41:53>> It means the more you follow dreams, you
- 1:41:56become a fool.
- 1:41:59>> Guess what, pastor?
- 1:42:00>> What
- 1:42:00>> the most interesting verse now is verse
- 1:42:03seven.
- 1:42:03>> Okay,
- 1:42:04>> read it.
- 1:42:05>> For in the multitude of dreams and many
- 1:42:08words, there are also diverse vanities.
- 1:42:11But fear thou God.
- 1:42:16>> Hallelujah.
- 1:42:17>> Did you know this scripture first?
- 1:42:19>> This one. Read it again.
- 1:42:22>> For in the multitude of dreams
- 1:42:26and many words,
- 1:42:29there are also diverse vanities.
- 1:42:33But fear.
- 1:42:40Amen.
- 1:42:44Amen.
- 1:42:46Yes.
- 1:43:07>> [clears throat]
- 1:43:11>> President, [laughter]
- 1:43:20[laughter]
- 1:43:21>> give us the NASB rendering of verse
- 1:43:25seven. It seems very interesting. For in
- 1:43:29many dreams and in many words there's
- 1:43:31emptiness.
- 1:43:33Rather fear God
- 1:43:36[laughter]
- 1:43:38pastor
- 1:43:39>> the right of justice seems to understand
- 1:43:44>> that is speaking to au
- 1:43:47>> he turns down his way. Do you see that?
- 1:43:50>> He's speaking softly.
- 1:43:52>> Yes.
- 1:43:54[snorts]
- 1:44:04Do you know believer that one of the
- 1:44:07most
- 1:44:09um
- 1:44:11the most
- 1:44:14hateful and
- 1:44:17complicated issues around people who
- 1:44:21believe in dreams
- 1:44:23>> is when dreams come with matters of
- 1:44:27witchcraft.
- 1:44:28>> Yes.
- 1:44:30>> As I sit here with my pastors,
- 1:44:33there are families that were destroyed
- 1:44:36by
- 1:44:38people who are overly religious and
- 1:44:42superstitious in believing in dreams.
- 1:44:47Because if pastor in her dreams saw
- 1:44:51pastor Chuma
- 1:44:56>> practicing witchcraft around her bed
- 1:44:58with a a a water pot,
- 1:45:02>> a clay pot full of some incense.
- 1:45:05>> Pastor Jumai were wearing a black gown
- 1:45:08with
- 1:45:08>> with with with some blood sprinkled all
- 1:45:12over your face and you were speaking
- 1:45:15incantations. It was a dream.
- 1:45:18>> If pastor believes in dreams,
- 1:45:21>> you are doomed.
- 1:45:22>> With the skin of a lion.
- 1:45:24>> With the skin of a lion. [laughter]
- 1:45:27The first thing pastor will do is she
- 1:45:31will believe that you are indeed a
- 1:45:33wizard.
- 1:45:35>> The [snorts] second thing is she will
- 1:45:37spread the information. Be careful of
- 1:45:40that man. I saw him.
- 1:45:43>> She will not say she had a dream. No,
- 1:45:46>> she will begin to say she saw you.
- 1:45:50>> And some of the people have an in
- 1:45:54>> to approach the very people they saw in
- 1:45:56their dreams
- 1:45:58>> and confront them.
- 1:45:59>> Why are you trying to kill me? Imagine
- 1:46:02if pastor confronts you and says, why
- 1:46:06are you trying to kill me? [laughter]
- 1:46:09Why can't you take your witchcraft
- 1:46:11elsewhere? Are we not together in the
- 1:46:14body of ministers?
- 1:46:16>> How can you prove pastor Chuma
- 1:46:19>> that you are not a wizard to her?
- 1:46:22[laughter]
- 1:46:24>> And if I believe in wizard wizardry and
- 1:46:27in dreams,
- 1:46:29>> I will call you to a meeting
- 1:46:31>> and I will talk to you from afar. I
- 1:46:34would cast I will throw a parable like
- 1:46:37prophet Nathan. I will say pastor
- 1:46:40there was a family and and one member of
- 1:46:43that family became a wizard and he
- 1:46:46destroyed you know pastor we we are not
- 1:46:49saying we witchcraft is entirely bad but
- 1:46:54>> why don't you think it's a good idea to
- 1:46:56take it somewhere far away from people
- 1:46:58that you're working with
- 1:47:00>> it's not reasonable pastor
- 1:47:01>> chuma
- 1:47:03>> to go at night to your fellow minister
- 1:47:06and harassy while she's sleeping
- 1:47:09By the time you know that this is that
- 1:47:11matter
- 1:47:12>> that pastor brought to you,
- 1:47:15>> it will be a long time.
- 1:47:17>> As we sit here in the studio,
- 1:47:20>> there are children who no longer talk to
- 1:47:23their parents.
- 1:47:23>> Yes.
- 1:47:24>> Yes.
- 1:47:24>> They did not see them in witchcraft
- 1:47:27activities. It was a dream.
- 1:47:29>> Yes.
- 1:47:30>> Yes.
- 1:47:32>> As we sit here, there are men who
- 1:47:35divorced their wives.
- 1:47:36>> Yes. because they saw their wives in
- 1:47:39witchcraft in a dream
- 1:47:42>> and because they were raised in
- 1:47:44superstitious families.
- 1:47:46>> They were raised wrongly.
- 1:47:49>> A man, a grownup man, an educated man
- 1:47:52who walk around spreading the rumor.
- 1:47:55>> I divorced that woman. She is a witch. M
- 1:48:00>> when I saw her bewishing me that
- 1:48:03previous night, the following morning I
- 1:48:05woke up with a cold all over my body. I
- 1:48:08had to go to the doctor.
- 1:48:10>> Since when do doctors treat witchcraft?
- 1:48:15>> If you went to a doctor after being
- 1:48:17bewitched and drugs treated you, you
- 1:48:21were not bewitched. You are a scondrel.
- 1:48:25You were sick.
- 1:48:31>> [laughter]
- 1:48:32[clears throat]
- 1:48:37[laughter]
- 1:48:41[clears throat]
- 1:48:41[snorts]
- 1:48:51>> a graduate.
- 1:48:52>> Yes. Yes. Yes.
- 1:48:54Education is supposed to treat you to be
- 1:48:57a critical thinker,
- 1:48:59>> applying superior logic,
- 1:49:01>> analyzing things.
- 1:49:03>> Yes.
- 1:49:04>> Huh.
- 1:49:07>> Seeking for logic, common sense in
- 1:49:10situations.
- 1:49:11>> That is sad.
- 1:49:14>> We had to rush this girl to the
- 1:49:16hospital. If it was not for the doctors,
- 1:49:19she could have died. Since when do
- 1:49:22doctors solve problems created by
- 1:49:26witchcraft? Since when?
- 1:49:29[laughter]
- 1:49:31If your daughter was truly bewitched,
- 1:49:34then doctors could not help your do your
- 1:49:37your daughter. It's impossible.
- 1:49:42Go and see African doctors. They will
- 1:49:44tell you that one day they met a patient
- 1:49:47who was bewitched
- 1:49:49and they knew they could not treat that
- 1:49:52patient. They to send the patient to
- 1:49:55those who are spiritual.
- 1:50:07>> [laughter]
- 1:50:22>> So
- 1:50:24it's very difficult to believe
- 1:50:28that in in this age and era we still
- 1:50:32have people who believe in in in in the
- 1:50:36fear of death and who believe in dreams.
- 1:50:41How can you be a child of God? And now
- 1:50:45your sister who loved you so dearly.
- 1:50:48>> Some of you, you
- 1:50:51insulted and had so badly people who had
- 1:50:55sacrificed
- 1:50:57>> in your formative years.
- 1:50:59You dreamed of them in a dream.
- 1:51:04This issue of you dreaming of witches
- 1:51:06and wizards,
- 1:51:08it is because you always think about it
- 1:51:11all the time.
- 1:51:12>> The Bible is clear in the multitude of
- 1:51:16business comes dreams.
- 1:51:18>> Yes.
- 1:51:18>> Your head is busy day and night
- 1:51:22>> talking and and and discussing and
- 1:51:24thinking about witchcraft.
- 1:51:27>> So when you go to bed, you dream of
- 1:51:30witchcraft. M
- 1:51:32how can your sister prove to you that
- 1:51:35she's not a witch?
- 1:51:37How can your cousin brother prove to you
- 1:51:41that is not a ritualist?
- 1:51:52Foreign
- 1:52:13speech. Foreign speech. Foreign speech.
- 1:52:18Am
- 1:52:34I excuse me? Interestingly enough, on
- 1:52:38Tuesday, a a a new believer in the faith
- 1:52:41rang me and said that there are squables
- 1:52:44and fights in their extended family. And
- 1:52:47he he he dreamed there was a funeral. It
- 1:52:50was his funeral. He had been killed, not
- 1:52:53just died. He had been killed.
- 1:52:54>> Okay?
- 1:52:55>> And so he wanted to to know what he
- 1:52:58could do about it. And and I say and I
- 1:53:01say I said to him, I just want to prove
- 1:53:03to you that this was nonsense. Did you
- 1:53:06attend your your your own funeral in the
- 1:53:08dream? And you said yes.
- 1:53:11[laughter]
- 1:53:12>> So how did that happen?
- 1:53:15And the other question pastor is if he
- 1:53:17had dreamed being the president of the
- 1:53:19USA, [clears throat]
- 1:53:21>> was he going to come to you with the
- 1:53:23same question? [laughter]
- 1:53:24>> What should I do about it?
- 1:53:30President
- 1:53:33[laughter]
- 1:53:39[laughter]
- 1:53:43[clears throat]
- 1:53:56>> [laughter]
- 1:54:09>> to deliver them who through fear of
- 1:54:12death were ought their lifetime subject
- 1:54:16to bondage.
- 1:54:18So once you know that Christ is our
- 1:54:22first born
- 1:54:25>> son in the household of God,
- 1:54:28>> one of the benefits of having him as our
- 1:54:31first born is that he has a duty to
- 1:54:35deliver us
- 1:54:36>> from the bondage of death.
- 1:54:38>> Oh yes. Since all things were put in
- 1:54:40subjection under him,
- 1:54:42>> including the world to come,
- 1:54:45>> it then defies
- 1:54:47reason
- 1:54:48>> that the very thing that Jesus became
- 1:54:51first born to deliver you from,
- 1:54:54>> you haven't been delivered to this day.
- 1:54:56>> Yeah.
- 1:54:57>> Yeah.
- 1:54:58>> When did Christ become firstborn?
- 1:55:04Around 40 AD when he rose from the dead.
- 1:55:08Almost 2,000 years later,
- 1:55:11>> he was still held in the fear of death.
- 1:55:14>> Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:55:15>> So what did he die for?
- 1:55:18>> Verse 16.
- 1:55:19>> For verily he took not on him the nature
- 1:55:21of angels.
- 1:55:22>> Yes.
- 1:55:23>> But he took on him the seed of Abraham.
- 1:55:25So verse 16 is telling us that we we
- 1:55:29must be able to relate with Christ
- 1:55:32because
- 1:55:34a duck cannot be a firstborn in the
- 1:55:37family of fish.
- 1:55:39>> The reason why Christ took the nature of
- 1:55:42human form that is what the phrase seed
- 1:55:45of Abraham means. It means human nature.
- 1:55:49Christ did not come with a nature of
- 1:55:52angels
- 1:55:53because he was going to be first born to
- 1:55:56angels
- 1:55:57>> in order for him to be first born to us.
- 1:56:01>> He needed to take our nature.
- 1:56:03>> Amen.
- 1:56:04>> The seed of Abraham, why did he do that?
- 1:56:08Wherefore in all things it behold him to
- 1:56:10be made like unto his brethren.
- 1:56:12>> It was necessary
- 1:56:14to look like his brethren. Why? that he
- 1:56:18might be a merciful.
- 1:56:19>> He needed to be a merciful
- 1:56:22>> and faithful high priest
- 1:56:23>> and faithful high priest
- 1:56:25>> in things pertaining to God
- 1:56:27>> in things pertaining to God
- 1:56:30>> to make reconciliation for the sins of
- 1:56:32the people.
- 1:56:33>> Did you see that?
- 1:56:34>> Amen. Amen.
- 1:56:35>> One of the benefits of him looking like
- 1:56:38his brethren, he is going to be
- 1:56:41merciful. M
- 1:56:43>> other versions of the Bible describe it
- 1:56:46as compassionate.
- 1:56:48>> Oh yes,
- 1:56:49>> he is reasonable. He understands the
- 1:56:52failings of human nature. He was in
- 1:56:56human nature for 33 years. as the
- 1:57:00firstborn,
- 1:57:02>> he is able to execute the high priest
- 1:57:06duties
- 1:57:07>> faithfully
- 1:57:09>> in things pertaining to to God to make
- 1:57:13reconciliation
- 1:57:14for the sins of his people. Amen.
- 1:57:32Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
- 1:57:55Mhm.
- 1:57:56>> To understand that as the first born, he
- 1:58:00was then also given the office of the
- 1:58:03high priest.
- 1:58:03>> Amen.
- 1:58:04>> So when he speaks to God on our behalf,
- 1:58:07it's not an academic conversation with
- 1:58:11God. He understands our pains. He
- 1:58:15understands our shame. He understands
- 1:58:18our misfortunes. He understands our
- 1:58:21grief.
- 1:58:23When you say, "I am hurting. I lost my
- 1:58:26husband. I lost my child." He
- 1:58:28understands the feeling of grief
- 1:58:31>> because he once had grief in his spirit
- 1:58:36>> when he was in the body.
- 1:58:40He's a faithful high priest
- 1:58:42>> on account of how relatable
- 1:58:46>> our situations are to him.
- 1:58:48>> Amen.
- 1:58:49>> We share the same nature with the first
- 1:58:53born
- 1:58:55>> at least up to the time of his
- 1:58:57exaltation. We shared the same nature.
- 1:59:01Jesus is not a superman kind of a
- 1:59:05firstborn.
- 1:59:06>> He was an ordinary man. Amen.
- 1:59:10>> He was hungered at some point just as we
- 1:59:13go hungry ourselves.
- 1:59:16>> He was made like unto his brethren.
- 1:59:20>> The idea is the word brethren.
- 1:59:23>> Yes.
- 1:59:24>> Yes.
- 1:59:24>> Remember
- 1:59:26the only time the word firstborn applies
- 1:59:29is when there are many brethren.
- 1:59:32>> Oh yeah.
- 1:59:32>> According to Romans 8:29, there has to
- 1:59:36be many brethren.
- 1:59:37>> Yes. If he is one, he becomes first
- 1:59:40begotten.
- 1:59:41>> If there are many brethren, he becomes
- 1:59:44first born.
- 1:59:45>> Yes.
- 1:59:46>> Amen.
- 1:59:47>> So,
- 1:59:48>> Amen.
- 1:59:49>> The word brethren does not just mean
- 1:59:51he's a brother. We are related.
- 1:59:54>> It also means we have the same nature
- 1:59:58>> in terms of understanding.
- 2:00:00>> Amen.
- 2:00:00>> Our situations are common to him.
- 2:00:04He doesn't ask angel, huh? She's saying
- 2:00:09she is afraid of what hunger and poverty
- 2:00:13shall do to her now that her husband
- 2:00:16died. What kind of what kind what is the
- 2:00:20word fear? What does the word fear mean?
- 2:00:23And then an angel says, "It's also
- 2:00:26difficult for me because look, I I've
- 2:00:28never been in a body
- 2:00:30>> and I've never been afraid." So, but
- 2:00:33from the look of things, from our own
- 2:00:36peripheral observations,
- 2:00:39>> angels now try to explain to Christ
- 2:00:42>> the feelings we have ourselves. No.
- 2:00:47>> Verse 56 18.
- 2:00:50>> For in that he himself has suffered
- 2:00:52being tempted, he is able to secure them
- 2:00:55that are tempted.
- 2:00:57>> This is the what what we might call the
- 2:01:00climax of this matter. Yes,
- 2:01:04>> we may be tempted because we are in the
- 2:01:07body.
- 2:01:07>> Yes,
- 2:01:08>> he is able to assist. The word, it means
- 2:01:12assist.
- 2:01:13>> Hallelujah.
- 2:01:14>> Not only is he able, but he is willing
- 2:01:18to assist.
- 2:01:18>> Amen.
- 2:01:19>> Lord Jesus, help me. I am being tempted
- 2:01:23with an offer
- 2:01:25>> to take a bribe.
- 2:01:27>> I know this is a temptation. I know I
- 2:01:31shouldn't take a bribe. I a prince of
- 2:01:34the royal household of your kingdom.
- 2:01:36>> Yes,
- 2:01:37>> but I am broke. I need this money.
- 2:01:41>> If you don't help me, I will accept this
- 2:01:43bribe. Please, Lord Jesus, help me.
- 2:01:48This is how we should interact with him.
- 2:01:50He is the first born after all.
- 2:01:54As they journeyed into the promised
- 2:01:56land, any little thing that bothered
- 2:01:59them, they came to Joshua. Joshua, this
- 2:02:02is the problem. Joshua, this is the
- 2:02:04problem. And all the time, Joshua
- 2:02:08settled their problems.
- 2:02:11>> He was able Joshua to secure them in
- 2:02:16times of need.
- 2:02:17>> Yes. Yes. Because Joshua is a son of
- 2:02:21Ephraim, the firstborn of Israel.
- 2:02:26>> Deuteronomy 34:5.
- 2:02:31>> Pastor, you shall read Hebrews 4
- 2:02:34verse4-16,
- 2:02:37the mystery of the firstborn.
- 2:02:40>> So Moses the servant of the Lord died
- 2:02:43there in the land of Moab. Yes.
- 2:02:45>> According to the word of the Lord.
- 2:02:47>> Yes. And he buried him in a valley in
- 2:02:50the land of Moab.
- 2:02:51>> They buried Moses in a valley in the
- 2:02:54land of Moab
- 2:02:55>> over against Beth Peio. Yes.
- 2:02:58>> But no man knows of his sea unto this
- 2:03:01day.
- 2:03:01>> Yes.
- 2:03:01>> And Moses was in 120 years old when he
- 2:03:05died. His eyes was not his eye was not
- 2:03:09dim. No. His natural force abaded.
- 2:03:12>> Yes. And the children of Israel wept for
- 2:03:14Moses in the plains of Moab 30 days. So
- 2:03:18the days of weeping and mourning for
- 2:03:21Moses were ended.
- 2:03:22>> Yes.
- 2:03:22>> And Joshua the son of Non was full of
- 2:03:26the spirit of wisdom. For Moses had laid
- 2:03:29his hands upon him. Yes.
- 2:03:31>> And the children of Israel hearkened
- 2:03:33unto him and did as the Lord commanded
- 2:03:37Moses.
- 2:03:37>> Joshua the son of Non was full of the
- 2:03:40spirit of wisdom.
- 2:03:42For Moses had laid his hands upon him,
- 2:03:45>> and the children of Israel hearkened
- 2:03:49unto him
- 2:03:50>> and did as the Lord commanded Moses.
- 2:03:54>> Yes.
- 2:03:56>> Joshua 17:E14
- 2:03:59to 18.
- 2:04:02>> Joshua 17 verse14.
- 2:04:06And the children of Joseph spake unto
- 2:04:08Joshua, saying,
- 2:04:09>> the children of Ephraim and Manas spake
- 2:04:12unto Joshua,
- 2:04:14>> why hast thou given me but one lot and
- 2:04:17one portion to inherit.
- 2:04:19[laughter]
- 2:04:25>> Amen. [laughter]
- 2:04:27>> Yes.
- 2:04:30Mhm.
- 2:04:31>> These children of Joseph
- 2:04:34from what happened in Genesis 48,
- 2:04:37>> they were very confident.
- 2:04:40>> Yes.
- 2:04:40>> That they were now the first born
- 2:04:43>> and that they had the birthight.
- 2:04:46>> Yes.
- 2:04:47>> And now that Joshua their own brother
- 2:04:50was
- 2:04:54Mhm.
- 2:05:08[clears throat]
- 2:05:12>> One portion to inherit.
- 2:05:15>> Read verse 14. And the children of
- 2:05:18Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying,
- 2:05:20>> "Yes,
- 2:05:21>> why hast thou given me but one lot and
- 2:05:24one portion to inherit, seeing I am a
- 2:05:27great people?"
- 2:05:28>> Yes.
- 2:05:28>> For as much as the Lord has blessed me
- 2:05:31hitherto.
- 2:05:32>> And Joshua answered them, "If thou be a
- 2:05:35great people, then get thee up to the
- 2:05:37wood country and cut down for thyself
- 2:05:40there in the land of the perizzites and
- 2:05:42the giants. If Mount Ephraim be too
- 2:05:45narrow for thee.
- 2:05:46>> Did you hear that?
- 2:05:48>> Joshua said,
- 2:05:51"So you are the first born, right?"
- 2:05:53>> Okay.
- 2:05:53>> The children of Joseph said, "Of
- 2:05:55course."
- 2:05:55>> Yes.
- 2:05:56>> The first born.
- 2:05:57>> Learn what? But please go back to verse
- 2:06:0014.
- 2:06:01>> I I want us to justose verse 17 of
- 2:06:04determin 21
- 2:06:07>> with
- 2:06:08Joshua 17:14.
- 2:06:11I want you to see how the children of
- 2:06:14Israel
- 2:06:16take God seriously.
- 2:06:20>> According to Deuteronomy 21:17,
- 2:06:23>> Mhm.
- 2:06:24>> amongst other things.
- 2:06:26>> Mhm.
- 2:06:27>> The benefits
- 2:06:29of being the firstborn
- 2:06:32>> include having a double portion
- 2:06:35>> Yes.
- 2:06:35>> of your father's inheritance.
- 2:06:38>> Yes.
- 2:06:40>> Yes. The sons of Joseph,
- 2:06:42>> yes,
- 2:06:42>> when the land was being distributed,
- 2:06:45>> they come to Joshua.
- 2:06:47>> They did not honor Joshua. They did not
- 2:06:49respect Joshua, they came with a
- 2:06:52challenge.
- 2:06:54>> Read verse 14 again.
- 2:06:55>> Yes.
- 2:06:56>> Yes. And the children of Joseph spake
- 2:06:58unto Joshua, saying, "Why hast thou
- 2:07:01given me but one lot and one portion to
- 2:07:04inherit?"
- 2:07:04>> Did you hear that?
- 2:07:06>> They did not say, "You gave us a small
- 2:07:08lot." No.
- 2:07:10They were not interested in size.
- 2:07:12>> No,
- 2:07:13>> they were interested in number.
- 2:07:17>> We Yes.
- 2:07:18>> cannot get one portion.
- 2:07:20>> No.
- 2:07:22>> No.
- 2:07:22>> Yes.
- 2:07:23>> Seeing I am a great people for as much
- 2:07:26as the Lord has blessed me hither too.
- 2:07:28>> Right. I'm blessed by the Lord so I
- 2:07:32don't deserve one. Joshua
- 2:07:36[laughter]
- 2:07:38I want to believe that Joshua was afraid
- 2:07:41of being corrupted.
- 2:07:43>> Yeah. Okay.
- 2:07:44>> By his own kinsmen, his own tribes men.
- 2:07:48>> Yes.
- 2:07:49>> I am the leader of the whole nation.
- 2:07:52>> Even though I am an
- 2:07:53>> Ephraite,
- 2:07:54>> I cannot appear to be favoring the sons
- 2:07:58of Joseph. That will [clears throat] be
- 2:07:59corruption. God will not go let me go
- 2:08:03unpunished. All right. All right.
- 2:08:05>> But it wasn't nepotism.
- 2:08:07>> Yes.
- 2:08:08>> It was the law of God.
- 2:08:11>> Joshua. Joshua. Joshua. Joshua.
- 2:08:16>> You are the first born the Ephraimites.
- 2:08:19>> And you cannot get one portion.
- 2:08:22>> Don't you know this law? The law is not
- 2:08:36Judges chapter 8
- 2:08:49first born. Maybe we'll read it.
- 2:08:52>> Mhm.
- 2:08:53>> Read verse 17 of det. I want you to see
- 2:08:57what made the sons of Joseph to demand a
- 2:09:01double portion from Joshua. Is this a
- 2:09:04request, Pastor Schuma?
- 2:09:06>> It's a demand. It's not a request.
- 2:09:09Is it a request?
- 2:09:10>> Yeah, it's not a request. It's a demand.
- 2:09:15>> Why? Why thou given us one lot and one
- 2:09:19portion to inherit? One portion is
- 2:09:25Yeah, the Lord has blessed us.
- 2:09:28>> So Joshua did not have a chance
- 2:09:31>> to explain
- 2:09:33>> to to ask them why do you think
- 2:09:37that you deserve a double portion? They
- 2:09:40gave him the answer in that demand
- 2:09:42>> in that confrontation. They said seeing
- 2:09:45that we are a great people
- 2:09:48>> as much as the Lord has blessed me too.
- 2:09:51[clears throat]
- 2:09:54>> Yes. One portion.
- 2:10:00I need a double portion.
- 2:10:03Yes.
- 2:10:05[laughter]
- 2:10:05Deuteronomy 21:17.
- 2:10:07>> Yes.
- 2:10:09But he shall acknowledge the son of the
- 2:10:11hated for the firstborn. Yes.
- 2:10:13>> By giving him a double portion.
- 2:10:16>> By giving him a double portion
- 2:10:18>> of all that he has.
- 2:10:32So pastor Ephraim knew that since he is
- 2:10:36now the first born
- 2:10:38>> he has a duty
- 2:10:41to get double portion.
- 2:10:46>> So Joshua is delivering land. He gives
- 2:10:49them mount Ephraim and they said it's
- 2:10:52not enough
- 2:10:55>> and Joshua did not say okay I'll give
- 2:10:59you a double portion
- 2:11:04[clears throat and laughter]
- 2:11:08>> Joshua did what
- 2:11:10>> in verse 15
- 2:11:11>> in verse 15 Joshua says if you are great
- 2:11:14people then stand up
- 2:11:16>> to the hood country. Yes.
- 2:11:18>> And cut down for yourself there in the
- 2:11:21land of the perizzites and of the
- 2:11:23giants.
- 2:11:24>> If Mount Ephraim is too narrow for you,
- 2:11:27>> go and fight with the parasites.
- 2:11:30>> You don't claim to be the first born by
- 2:11:32demanding two pieces of meat. Every time
- 2:11:36your mother is giving others one piece,
- 2:11:38one piece.
- 2:11:40I'm sorry.
- 2:11:53Amen.
- 2:11:54>> Joshua said, "My knowledge of the
- 2:11:56firstborn
- 2:11:57>> is not a weakling."
- 2:12:00>> Anyone who is a weakling is clearly not
- 2:12:02a firstborn because one of the
- 2:12:05blessings, one of the things that the
- 2:12:08blessings of God do is they give you
- 2:12:10strength.
- 2:12:12So let's read verse 16. Were the
- 2:12:15Ephraites able to fight and displace the
- 2:12:18perizzites? And the children of Joseph
- 2:12:20said, "The hill country is not enough
- 2:12:23for us, and all the Canaanites that
- 2:12:25dwell in the land of the valley have
- 2:12:27chariots of iron, both they who are
- 2:12:31Bethshin and her towns, and they who are
- 2:12:35of the valley of Jezrael." And Joshua
- 2:12:37spake unto the house of Joseph, even to
- 2:12:40Ephraim and and Manas. Apparently manas
- 2:12:42had accompanied the elder brother to
- 2:12:45complain to Joshua. And if you look at
- 2:12:47how the scripture is rendered, Ephraim
- 2:12:50is in front. Manas is behind.
- 2:12:53>> Yes. Saying
- 2:12:54>> thou art a great people and has great
- 2:12:57power. Thou shalt not have one Lord
- 2:12:59only.
- 2:13:00>> Ahallelujah.
- 2:13:05>> Yes.
- 2:13:10That's how do you feel?
- 2:13:12>> I feel blessed.
- 2:13:13>> You feel blessed?
- 2:13:14>> Yes. Because this is something a lot of
- 2:13:18people
- 2:13:20are maybe not even dreaming to know
- 2:13:22because they don't know about it.
- 2:13:24>> Yes. They don't know.
- 2:13:25>> Yes.
- 2:13:26>> So Joshua said, "You are a great people
- 2:13:30and you have great power."
- 2:13:32>> Yes.
- 2:13:33>> You cannot have one Lord only. Yes. Mhm.
- 2:13:36>> But the mountain shall be thine, for it
- 2:13:39is a wood,
- 2:13:41>> and thou shalt and thou shalt cut it
- 2:13:43down, and the outgoings of it shall be
- 2:13:46thine, for thou shalt drive out the
- 2:13:48Canaanites, though they have iron
- 2:13:51chariots, and though they be strong. Did
- 2:13:53you hear that?
- 2:13:54>> Yes.
- 2:13:54>> End of story. You are stronger.
- 2:13:57>> Whatever ions and chariots the
- 2:13:59Canaanites have, they don't worry. You
- 2:14:02will displace them.
- 2:14:04>> Amen. Highlight the part in verse 17
- 2:14:07again
- 2:14:09where Joshua spoke Ephraim, thou shalt
- 2:14:12not have one only.
- 2:14:14>> No, no, no, no. From the words, thou art
- 2:14:16a great people.
- 2:14:18>> Okay.
- 2:14:19>> Yes. Thou art a great people. Highlight
- 2:14:22those words.
- 2:14:29Am I [laughter]
- 2:14:32>> What made Ephraim a great
- 2:14:34>> a great people?
- 2:14:37>> Genesis 48.
- 2:14:40>> Oh yes.
- 2:14:42>> 18 and 19.
- 2:14:45>> Please replace Deuteronomy with Genesis
- 2:14:4748.
- 2:14:48>> Mhm.
- 2:14:49>> 18 and 19.
- 2:14:51>> Let's leave this position there.
- 2:14:54>> Yes.
- 2:14:55>> And Joseph said, "A unto his father?"
- 2:14:57>> Yes. Not so, my father, for this is the
- 2:15:00first born. Put thy right hand upon his
- 2:15:03head. And his father refused and said, I
- 2:15:07know it, my son. I know it. Yes,
- 2:15:09>> he also shall become a people.
- 2:15:12>> Mana say also shall become a people.
- 2:15:16>> And he also shall be great.
- 2:15:18>> Mana say also shall be great.
- 2:15:20>> But truly his younger brother shall be
- 2:15:23greater than he.
- 2:15:24>> Amen. [laughter]
- 2:15:26>> Yes. and his seed shall become a
- 2:15:28multitude of nations.
- 2:15:30>> So highlight the part that begins with
- 2:15:33and he also shall be great up to the
- 2:15:35word a multitude of nations.
- 2:15:38>> Yes. Yes. Yes.
- 2:15:39>> So what made Jo Ephraim great
- 2:15:43>> Mhm.
- 2:15:44>> is what is highlighted on the on on the
- 2:15:48on the right of the screen there.
- 2:15:58Genesis 48:19
- 2:16:15Mh.
- 2:16:26[laughter]
- 2:16:29[clears throat]
- 2:16:40Yes. Yes.
- 2:16:44The mystery of the firstborn. Amen.
- 2:16:57M
- 2:17:19pastor please read Hebrews 4:14-16
- 2:17:21quickly.
- 2:17:23So Ephraim was not willing
- 2:17:25>> seeing them
- 2:17:26>> satisfied with one portion.
- 2:17:29>> Everybody got one portion of land.
- 2:17:31Ephraim demanded a double portion.
- 2:17:33>> Yes.
- 2:17:34>> Yes.
- 2:17:35>> So what we preached about Ephraim
- 2:17:37becoming the first born
- 2:17:39>> is not just written in text
- 2:17:43>> for us to say the matter ended
- 2:17:46>> when Ephraim became the first born. We
- 2:17:49followed through.
- 2:17:50>> Hallelujah.
- 2:17:51>> Into the bush. We dig deeper into the
- 2:17:55core of the scripture to find out what
- 2:17:58then became of Ephraim.
- 2:18:01>> Did Ephraim really become the firstborn
- 2:18:04>> or it was just a title he was
- 2:18:06gallivanting with across the streets?
- 2:18:09>> Maybe was getting new girlfriends using
- 2:18:11this title of a firstborn. It's deeper
- 2:18:14than that.
- 2:18:15>> Yes,
- 2:18:15>> it is more than that. M
- 2:18:19>> and as we preach these sermons you may
- 2:18:21say yes the sermons we are receiving
- 2:18:23them what but is there anything
- 2:18:25substantial coming inside of us as well
- 2:18:29>> my goodness
- 2:18:31don't look down upon the power
- 2:18:35that is flowing into your body into your
- 2:18:38spirit
- 2:18:39>> through these revelations
- 2:18:42>> without you doing nothing just listening
- 2:18:45to the word and following the teachings
- 2:18:47Mhm.
- 2:18:48>> putting them into practice.
- 2:18:52There's a lot of grace coming into your
- 2:18:54life.
- 2:18:55The word of God will cut you to levels
- 2:18:58you never thought you could reach.
- 2:19:01Even in your planning, you have to reach
- 2:19:04out for your plans. You discover that
- 2:19:06things that are happening in my life now
- 2:19:08and what I had planned for myself, they
- 2:19:11no longer match. M
- 2:19:12>> I have to pull down my granaries and my
- 2:19:16storehouses, build bigger ones
- 2:19:20because the blessings demand expansion.
- 2:19:23>> I was building a small empire. I need to
- 2:19:26build a bigger empire
- 2:19:28>> on account of the blessings of God.
- 2:19:32>> When God gave Ephraim the birthight in
- 2:19:35Genesis 48,
- 2:19:37>> he did not receive a cobo, a send
- 2:19:41Ephraim. They were just like words
- 2:19:44>> just like I'm doing here. They were just
- 2:19:46like words.
- 2:19:48>> But [clears throat] look at what
- 2:19:50>> this became of Ephraim.
- 2:19:53>> It became a big house.
- 2:19:54>> Amen. Amen.
- 2:20:05Amen. Go back to Genesis 27 and find out
- 2:20:09how Jacob received the birthight.
- 2:20:12>> Isaac was too old to do anything. He
- 2:20:15simply spoke words to Jacob.
- 2:20:18>> Amen.
- 2:20:18>> And that's what made Jacob Israel.
- 2:20:21>> Yes.
- 2:20:22>> The nation you are talking about,
- 2:20:24Israel, right now,
- 2:20:25>> it was made by words.
- 2:20:29>> Don't look down upon the word of God.
- 2:20:33>> Hebrews [clears throat] 4:14.
- 2:20:35Seeing then that we have a great high
- 2:20:38priest that is passed into the heavens,
- 2:20:41Jesus the son of God.
- 2:20:42>> Jesus the son of God.
- 2:20:44>> Let us hold fast our profession.
- 2:20:46>> Yes.
- 2:20:46>> For we have not an high priest which
- 2:20:48cannot be touched with the feeling of
- 2:20:50our infirmities but was in all points
- 2:20:53tempted like as we are yet without sin.
- 2:20:56So he left an example that there's
- 2:20:59nothing wrong in being tempted
- 2:21:01>> but you cannot be found with sin after
- 2:21:04being tempted
- 2:21:05>> just like Jesus be tempted in all points
- 2:21:10but be found without sin.
- 2:21:12>> Amen. Amen.
- 2:21:13>> So nobody shall have an excuse.
- 2:21:16>> I was not able to overcome my
- 2:21:18temptations. You know Jesus, you don't
- 2:21:22understand the temptations that were in
- 2:21:24my world at my time.
- 2:21:31>> Our high priest
- 2:21:33was touched with the feeling of our
- 2:21:37infirmities.
- 2:21:38>> Amen.
- 2:21:39>> He was in all points tempted like as we
- 2:21:42are
- 2:21:44>> and yet without sin.
- 2:21:46>> Yes.
- 2:21:47>> What should we do therefore? Let us
- 2:21:49therefore come boldly unto the throne of
- 2:21:52grace that we may obtain mercy and find
- 2:21:55grace to help in time of every time you
- 2:21:58go into a time of need.
- 2:22:01>> Look for the festival.
- 2:22:02>> Amen.
- 2:22:03>> He is able to help you.
- 2:22:06>> Amen.
- 2:22:06>> You will obtain mercy.
- 2:22:08>> He will find grace to help in times of
- 2:22:12need.
- 2:22:13>> Come boldly to the throne of grace. Come
- 2:22:17boldly to Jesus.
- 2:22:20>> When you find yourself in a corner, go
- 2:22:24and call boldly unto Jesus. Lord, help
- 2:22:28me. I need your help.
- 2:22:32He knows what you are facing. He once
- 2:22:35faced it when he was here.
- 2:22:36>> Amen. Amen.
- 2:22:38>> There's nothing new under the sun.
- 2:23:12Don't hesitate. to call upon Jesus
- 2:23:16in the time of need. All this help is
- 2:23:20issuing out, it is because
- 2:23:24uh we are partakers of flesh and blood.
- 2:23:28>> We share the blood of God that he shed
- 2:23:32on Calvary.
- 2:23:33>> Amen.
- 2:23:34>> Let's go back a little bit. H remember
- 2:23:38we are talking about inheritance
- 2:23:40>> that we share flesh and blood and
- 2:23:42therefore we are related to Christ
- 2:23:43through salvation the preaching of the
- 2:23:45gospel and the Holy Spirit that is
- 2:23:47within us and him having become the
- 2:23:50firstborn through the resurrection from
- 2:23:51the dead he then raised us from the dead
- 2:23:54of the sins and transgressions now he's
- 2:23:57available to help us because he's not
- 2:23:59ashamed to call us brethren so we want
- 2:24:02you to see how the first born has a duty
- 2:24:06to solve of problems of his siblings.
- 2:24:11>> And this is why we are saying let us
- 2:24:13therefore go boldly to Jesus. He will
- 2:24:17give us mercy. He is the first born
- 2:24:20>> and being his siblings, he has a duty.
- 2:24:24>> The birthright gives him a duty to help
- 2:24:28his siblings.
- 2:24:29>> Amen.
- 2:24:30We saw in Joshua 17 the sons of Ephraim
- 2:24:34and Manasse they came for help. They
- 2:24:37said we were given one one portion of
- 2:24:41land according to the law. We deserve a
- 2:24:44double portion.
- 2:24:46>> We are too many and also we are blessed.
- 2:24:49>> So one portion we won't accept it.
- 2:24:53>> And Joshua said it is true. You are a
- 2:24:56great people.
- 2:24:57>> Yes. and you have great strength.
- 2:25:00>> Go and drive out the parasites and the
- 2:25:03Canaanites.
- 2:25:04>> Take the land. Joshua 14:6.
- 2:25:08Let's see who came to Joshua again for
- 2:25:11help. They are coming to the first born
- 2:25:14for help.
- 2:25:15>> Yes.
- 2:25:16>> In times of need.
- 2:25:18>> Then the children of Judah came unto
- 2:25:21Joshua and Gil.
- 2:25:22>> Again,
- 2:25:23>> then the children of Judah came unto
- 2:25:26Joshua and Gil.
- 2:25:27>> Yes. And Caleb the son of Jeffy the
- 2:25:30Kennesite said unto him, "Thou knowest
- 2:25:33the thing that the Lord said unto Moses,
- 2:25:37the man of God concerning me and thee in
- 2:25:40Kadesh Ba,
- 2:25:41>> 40 years old was I when Moses the
- 2:25:45servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh
- 2:25:48Banana to spy out the land, and I
- 2:25:51brought him word again as it was in mine
- 2:25:54heart." M
- 2:25:55>> nevertheless, my brethren, that went up
- 2:25:58with me made the heart of the people
- 2:26:00melt.
- 2:26:02>> But I wholly followed the Lord my God.
- 2:26:05And Moses swear on that day, saying,
- 2:26:09Surely the land where on thy feet have
- 2:26:11trod, and shall be thine inheritance,
- 2:26:14and thy children forever, because thou
- 2:26:18hast wholly followed the Lord my God.
- 2:26:21And now, behold, the Lord has kept me
- 2:26:23alive, as he said these 40 and five
- 2:26:27years, even since the Lord spake this
- 2:26:31word unto Moses, while the children of
- 2:26:33Israel wandered in the wilderness. And
- 2:26:36now, lo, I am this day four score and
- 2:26:40and five years old. As yet I am as
- 2:26:44strong this day as I was in the day that
- 2:26:47Moses sent me [snorts]
- 2:26:49>> as my strength was then. Even so is my
- 2:26:53strength now. For war, both to go out
- 2:26:57and to come in.
- 2:26:58>> Now you must understand.
- 2:27:00>> Mhm. You may need to go in your own time
- 2:27:03to read numbers 13.
- 2:27:06>> Mhm.
- 2:27:07>> Why is Caleb talking about his strength?
- 2:27:13>> He was the first born in the house of
- 2:27:15his father. Hallelujah. Amen.
- 2:27:18>> Amen. Amen.
- 2:27:31Yes.
- 2:27:32>> Now therefore, give me this mountain.
- 2:27:34>> Give me this mountain.
- 2:27:36>> Where of the Lord spake in that day, for
- 2:27:39thou he hadest in that day, how the
- 2:27:43anarchims were there, and that the
- 2:27:45cities were great and fenced. If so be
- 2:27:48the Lord will be with me. Amen. Then I
- 2:27:51shall be able to drive them out as the
- 2:27:54Lord said. And Joshua,
- 2:27:56>> give me this mountain. Go back to verse
- 2:27:5912. Give me this mountain.
- 2:28:03>> Now therefore, give me this mountain.
- 2:28:05>> Highlight that part. Joshua.
- 2:28:11[laughter]
- 2:28:24M
- 2:28:28>> did Joshua give this mountain? Verse 13.
- 2:28:32>> And Joshua blessed him and gave unto
- 2:28:34Caleb the son of Jeff Hebron for an
- 2:28:37inheritance.
- 2:28:38>> Amen. The reason why David governed
- 2:28:42Israel.
- 2:28:43>> Yes.
- 2:28:43>> In Hebron for 7 years and 6 months.
- 2:28:47>> It is because David is a son of Judah.
- 2:28:50>> Yes. And yet was given to Caleb the son
- 2:28:55of Jeff of the house of Judah. Soavid
- 2:29:126 m 3 and 12 mu.
- 2:29:27Yes. Joshua
- 2:29:40first.
- 2:29:43Yes.
- 2:29:44>> As Caleb is talking to Joshua,
- 2:29:47>> it is Judah talking to Ephraim.
- 2:29:50>> Amen.
- 2:29:50>> Amen.
- 2:29:51>> Amen.
- 2:29:51>> In the line of birth,
- 2:29:54>> Judah is supposed to be
- 2:29:57Ephraim.
- 2:29:57>> Yes. Yes.
- 2:29:59>> But what is more important is not rather
- 2:30:03the order of birth.
- 2:30:04>> Mhm.
- 2:30:05>> But the order of the birthight.
- 2:30:07>> Yes.
- 2:30:08>> The order of birthight is more important
- 2:30:11than the order of birth.
- 2:30:13>> Once Ephraim became the first born,
- 2:30:16>> Judah must come and kneel down before
- 2:30:19Ephraim. Now that's a mystery. That's a
- 2:30:22mystery now. That's a mystery now.
- 2:30:26And this is why I'm able to teach you
- 2:30:29the word.
- 2:30:30>> Amen.
- 2:30:31>> And yet some of you are older than me.
- 2:30:33>> Yes.
- 2:30:34>> In terms of natural birth, you are
- 2:30:36seniors to me. You are elders to me.
- 2:30:39>> Yes. Yes.
- 2:30:40>> But what is more important is the order
- 2:30:43of the birthight.
- 2:30:44>> Hallelujah.
- 2:30:46>> The first born made me your parent in
- 2:30:49the Lord.
- 2:30:50>> Amen.
- 2:30:50>> And that settles the matter.
- 2:30:52>> Yes.
- 2:30:52>> Amen.
- 2:30:53>> Amen.
- 2:30:55If you defy Ephraim, you defy Israel.
- 2:30:59[clears throat]
- 2:30:59>> If you defy Israel, you dishonor God.
- 2:31:03>> Yes.
- 2:31:04>> So imagine that the sons of Judah
- 2:31:07respected what God did in Genesis 48.
- 2:31:12>> They started reporting to Ephraim.
- 2:31:15[clears throat]
- 2:31:15>> Imagine Joshua
- 2:31:17>> kneeling down before Caleb kneeling down
- 2:31:21before Joshua.
- 2:31:23If you read the whole matter, you can
- 2:31:26see that Caleb called Joshua my Lord.
- 2:31:45So
- 2:31:47this is what I wanted to share with you.
- 2:31:52There are other matters that we can't
- 2:31:55touch now because of time.
- 2:31:58I hope you have enjoyed the message.
- 2:32:02I would like to give time to three
- 2:32:04ladies and three gentlemen who are
- 2:32:07believers who might want to share with
- 2:32:09us whether you are excited
- 2:32:13by what we have learned in the mystery
- 2:32:16of the firstborn. It's a part one
- 2:32:20over to you our presenters.
- 2:32:26Thank you who am I for the wonderful
- 2:32:29wonderful uh message. Yeah, it is
- 2:32:34as usual I think a message which is full
- 2:32:36of so many so many nuggets so much for
- 2:32:39us to learn out of it. Yes. Um brethren
- 2:32:43I we have an opportunity to
- 2:32:48uh give our feedback. Um bless
- 2:32:53blessed I see your hand is up. Will you
- 2:32:56unmute and come through?
- 2:32:59>> All right. Thank you. Uh this is brother
- 2:33:02blessed from Assembly
- 2:33:05uh Zimbabwe territory Africa region. Um
- 2:33:09yeah, I want to share even during the
- 2:33:13introduction of this part
- 2:33:15um we
- 2:33:19this issue when does our Lord Jesus
- 2:33:22Christ become the first born
- 2:33:26and also
- 2:33:31when he was born in the flesh uh even
- 2:33:34when the angel Gabriel he did not call
- 2:33:37him uh the son.
- 2:33:40This is a holy thing. And also coming
- 2:33:44now when does he become the first born?
- 2:33:48He becomes the first born uh after the
- 2:33:52resurrection. When he is resurrected, he
- 2:33:55becomes the first born from the dead
- 2:33:59as according to the likes of and
- 2:34:04scriptures just for the sake of time.
- 2:34:11We were once dead in our sins, in our
- 2:34:14trespasses. It means when
- 2:34:34we are also becoming the sons of God
- 2:34:38because of his resurrection. This was
- 2:34:41something which was amazing to me. And
- 2:34:44also
- 2:34:48Hebrews 4 from verse number 40.
- 2:34:52We are also able now to ask for help
- 2:34:56from the
- 2:35:07also we are blessed.
- 2:35:21This was something which was very
- 2:35:22amazing. Thank you very much. This is my
- 2:35:26contribution.
- 2:35:32>> H thank you. Thank you.
- 2:35:45Mary, [clears throat] excuse me,
- 2:35:49Mary did not intimate with a man,
- 2:35:55but he was shadowed by the Holy Spirit,
- 2:36:01a holy thing.
- 2:36:11It was not of the will of men or what?
- 2:36:14That's why he was not having siblings
- 2:36:18uh in the flesh because he was not from
- 2:36:21the flesh and blood.
- 2:36:43He was the begotten son
- 2:36:46and from the begotten son he was become
- 2:36:50the firstborn after his resurrection. So
- 2:36:54the first
- 2:37:02one the first born his duties like what
- 2:37:07you were taught now at the end
- 2:37:10concerning the sons of Joseph demanding
- 2:37:14the land from Joshua Josh Joshua because
- 2:37:17of being the first borns
- 2:37:21I want this one.
- 2:37:25He was given everything. Nothing was
- 2:37:28left because of his
- 2:37:42Uh, greetings brethren, greetings our
- 2:37:45mothers in this video. I'm breed
- 2:37:49from
- 2:37:51job exection, South Africa region,
- 2:37:54a South Africa territory, Africa region.
- 2:37:58Thank you so much for the opportunity. I
- 2:38:00would like to give my testimony based on
- 2:38:04where we started in in Revelation
- 2:38:0722:8 where we saw that no man must add
- 2:38:10anything into the scripture that is
- 2:38:12written otherwise he will receive the
- 2:38:15plug from God and then we went to
- 2:38:18Deuteronomy 4 verse 1-2 that's where I
- 2:38:21want to take my testimony from I'm not
- 2:38:23going to read it so it says that um
- 2:38:25Israel is the Israelites must hecken to
- 2:38:28the statues of Lord that he has given
- 2:38:30them so that they can possess the land.
- 2:38:33Now we see um because Israel had g when
- 2:38:38when Israel blessed um Ephraim as the
- 2:38:41first born he was given the right to be
- 2:38:44the aarent of the house of the
- 2:38:46Israelites. So now um which means if
- 2:38:50Ephraim hearkened to all the
- 2:38:52commandments that his father Israel gave
- 2:38:54him because we see now when we went to
- 2:38:57Joshua now to Joshua 17:14 when the sons
- 2:39:01of Joseph came now asking that no we are
- 2:39:04we can't accept this one portion that we
- 2:39:06have given him because we read now that
- 2:39:09um Joshua was was given the spirit of
- 2:39:12wisdom we read it in Deuteronomy 34:9 so
- 2:39:16he used that spirit of wisdom that God
- 2:39:18had had given him to um to to to to
- 2:39:24he used that spirit so that he can
- 2:39:26allocate the other portion to the house
- 2:39:29of the of of of the of Joseph because
- 2:39:32they were the the air apparent as the
- 2:39:35Ephraite. So I understand that Joseph
- 2:39:37was um Joshua was full of the of the
- 2:39:40spirit of wisdom. Even the way that he
- 2:39:42executed the uh the the the the
- 2:39:46complaint that came with Caleb, he
- 2:39:48understood that Judah also deserve a
- 2:39:52portion. So he was given that. So I'm so
- 2:39:55happy to see that um Joshua as an
- 2:39:58informatite was given that wisdom so
- 2:40:00that he understood the the the statues
- 2:40:04of God on how the the first born must
- 2:40:07given a portion more than a double
- 2:40:10portion than his other siblings. Thank
- 2:40:13you so much. That is my testimony.
- 2:40:16>> Thank you. Thank you um brethren uh for
- 2:40:20the for for your testimony. Yes. Um I
- 2:40:24this is the this some of the feedback
- 2:40:26that we have from um brethren. I I also
- 2:40:31um just want to also say I was highly
- 2:40:34blessed especially in the relationship
- 2:40:36that we have practically in our in our
- 2:40:40life in our lives as believers. In the
- 2:40:43same manner that the
- 2:40:47the 12 tribes were also relating with
- 2:40:51the firstborn who was Ephraim as we
- 2:40:54actually understood that Christ is
- 2:40:56actually the the first begotten he's
- 2:40:58actually the firstborn because after him
- 2:41:02come also uh brethren
- 2:41:05come also the sons which is uh us as we
- 2:41:08read in Hebrews chapter chapter 2 and
- 2:41:11how they related
- 2:41:13We saw
- 2:41:15how Caleb would go to him to say uh I I
- 2:41:18need my I need a portion of land. And it
- 2:41:22was only from Ephraim because everything
- 2:41:24had been given unto him. uh he had a
- 2:41:28double portion as we learned in Hebrews
- 2:41:30chapter one that um Christ actually when
- 2:41:35he he he
- 2:41:37became the son he actually got
- 2:41:39everything was put under under his uh
- 2:41:42his feet and you you you showed us in
- 2:41:45Hebrews chapter 4 that also that um uh
- 2:41:50in in he also took up the fleshly body
- 2:41:54and was actually we and he says is
- 2:41:56actually we have a high priest which
- 2:41:58cannot be touched with the feelings of
- 2:42:00our infirmities but he was also tempted
- 2:42:02like as we are yet without sin and we
- 2:42:06should actually be going before his
- 2:42:08throne uh boldly unto his throne of
- 2:42:12grace that we may obtain mercy and find
- 2:42:14grace to help in time of need. So it is
- 2:42:17actually um something that I was highly
- 2:42:20blessed with that in old times we
- 2:42:22actually have one who is appointed um
- 2:42:26above everything else to whom we should
- 2:42:29actually go and present ourselves so
- 2:42:31that we may actually you saw us he will
- 2:42:34help us I
- 2:42:36um give a time better to your mind.
- 2:42:40>> Yes. Um, we need to deviate from the
- 2:42:46Christian habits of [snorts] uh coming
- 2:42:50to church and claim holiness,
- 2:42:54pretend to be holy, but we go back to
- 2:42:57our sinful lives.
- 2:42:59[clears throat]
- 2:42:59>> We must actually be people who are
- 2:43:02practicing holiness every day of our
- 2:43:05lives.
- 2:43:05>> Amen. Amen. And it does not mean that
- 2:43:09with good intentions to live a holy
- 2:43:11life, you will not face situations that
- 2:43:15tempt you to commit sin.
- 2:43:18The
- 2:43:20advantage that New Testament believers
- 2:43:23have which the Jews did not have in the
- 2:43:26time of the law is that we have access
- 2:43:30to a suara.
- 2:43:32>> Amen.
- 2:43:32>> In times of need.
- 2:43:34>> Amen. Amen. No phone call, no WhatsApp
- 2:43:38message, just you speaking to Christ.
- 2:43:41>> Lord, help me.
- 2:43:43>> I need your help now.
- 2:43:46>> And he will give you strength. We need
- 2:43:48to practice that.
- 2:43:50>> Yes.
- 2:43:50>> You don't have to scream. You don't have
- 2:43:52to close your eyes.
- 2:43:54>> You can speak to him while driving.
- 2:43:56>> Amen.
- 2:43:57>> You can speak to him while having your
- 2:43:59own walkounds as you do your exercises.
- 2:44:03Even on the treadmill,
- 2:44:05>> you can speak to him.
- 2:44:06>> Yes.
- 2:44:07>> Let us learn to find it easy to speak to
- 2:44:10Jesus.
- 2:44:12>> You don't need to be on your knees all
- 2:44:14the time.
- 2:44:15>> As you walk, as you work, if you are a
- 2:44:18nurse inside the patient room, you can
- 2:44:22speak quietly from deep inside your
- 2:44:24heart. Help me Lord. I am now at a time
- 2:44:27of need. He understands us. He
- 2:44:30understands you. He is there for you. He
- 2:44:34is the firstborn.
- 2:44:36It's his duty to help his siblings.
- 2:44:39>> Remember he is firstborn among brethren.
- 2:44:43>> Yes,
- 2:44:44>> many brethren. So that is important and
- 2:44:47we hope that
- 2:44:50that has been something that we took to
- 2:44:52heart.
- 2:44:55All right. Uh thank you uh everybody for
- 2:44:59your patience. We have had a long
- 2:45:01service. Um we wanted to address these
- 2:45:05matters
- 2:45:07and we hope that our leaders will
- 2:45:09continue to communicate with those who
- 2:45:13we did not have their feedback from on
- 2:45:17the platform today and those who were
- 2:45:20not here.
- 2:45:22um so that we can get our staff together
- 2:45:29and I hope we will have also a continued
- 2:45:32conversation on the matter we were
- 2:45:35teaching today
- 2:45:36>> the mystery of the first born which is
- 2:45:40also the mystery of the birthight.
- 2:45:44You see people thought that the
- 2:45:47firstborn is privileges only. They did
- 2:45:51not know the duties of the first born.
- 2:46:02[clears throat]
- 2:46:09>> [laughter]
- 2:46:13>> Yes.
- 2:46:24Yes.
- 2:46:30first born.
- 2:46:31>> So we thank God and we hope to meet with
- 2:46:35you again before the RG happens. See you
