- 0:00You're holding the world in your hand,
- 0:02but to build it, someone else has to
- 0:04suffer. And most of us ever ask whom?
- 0:08Your phone runs on cobalt. Mostly mind
- 0:11in Congo by hand by children 12 hours a
- 0:15day. No safety gear, just a pickaxe and
- 0:18survival. And that's just the battery.
- 0:21Next, it ships to factories where
- 0:24workers live on site, sleep in bunks,
- 0:26and build devices they can't afford.
- 0:29This isn't rare. It's a supply chain and
- 0:32every phone company knows it. You don't
- 0:35dig the mines. You don't run the
- 0:38factory. You just buy the phone.
- 0:41Scroll, swipe, charge, repeat, and it
- 0:44works. But here's the question you to
- 0:46face. Are you responsible for the pain
- 0:49you benefit from? You don't have to
- 0:51throw away your phone, but you do have
- 0:54to face what it really costs. Because
- 0:57behind the glass are the hands that
- 1:00bleed. Life's traded for convenience.
- 1:03Ethics doesn't start with guilt. It
- 1:05starts with awareness. With the courage
- 1:08to ask, if comfort comes at cost, are
- 1:12you willing to see who's paying for it?
