- 0:13let's use domestic violence as an
- 0:16example and it's not just a failure of
- 0:19feminism it's a failure of our culture a
- 0:23battered woman huddled in a dark corner
- 0:26who's obviously been savaged by a man is
- 0:30a much more attractive fundraising item
- 0:33in this culture a picture of a guy that
- 0:36speed up might be a comedy gag it might
- 0:40be something that people laugh at we
- 0:41frequently do the money is in female
- 0:46victims because our culture is exactly
- 0:50the opposite of what feminists have
- 0:52always claimed it is it is a culture
- 0:54that values the problems of women that
- 0:56is concerned with them that wants to
- 0:58send people in to rescue women when
- 1:01they're victims and when they're having
- 1:02problems so feminists have have taken
- 1:05that very concept and they created an
- 1:08industry that only recognizes the
- 1:12money-making victims and and it's it it
- 1:17may even seem extreme to counts things
- 1:19in these terms but that's what I believe
- 1:20is really happen there's not a lot of
- 1:23empathy for a guy that gets beat up I
- 1:25hear from in every day who have been
- 1:28victims of domestic violence in their
- 1:30relationships we have writers in a voice
- 1:33for men who have a history of be either
- 1:35being abused by their mothers or by
- 1:37spouses it goes on all the time when
- 1:41they went to seek help
- 1:42they were either arrested as the
- 1:44perpetrator or laughed at by police they
- 1:47found that there was no social services
- 1:49really designed for them there may have
- 1:51been some crisis counselor willing to
- 1:53talk for them and tell them yeah that's
- 1:55really rough but we don't have much else
- 1:57for you the reason that feminists have
- 2:01succeeded so wildly at perpetuating this
- 2:06myth that only women are victims is
- 2:09because that's what our culture wants to
- 2:10hear we want to hear about
- 2:12women that are abused and harmed so that
- 2:18we can create resources to go in and
- 2:21save them
- 2:21we're generally not interested in the
- 2:24struggles of men and I absolutely oppose
- 2:27what them and has had done with
- 2:29legislation like bla WA with the
- 2:32Violence Against Women Act how it's
- 2:35written the way it's couched in gender
- 2:37specific terms throughout the
- 2:39legislation for how the money is
- 2:41distributed I disagree with what
- 2:43feminist groups did here in California
- 2:45which was I think it was the the
- 2:48National Organization for men against
- 2:49sexism which is a group of feminists men
- 2:52that filed an amicus brief when
- 2:57California was being sued to start
- 2:59providing services for male victims of
- 3:01domestic violence Nome is stepped in
- 3:04with lawyers and other people stepped in
- 3:07and prevented a successful conclusion to
- 3:10that lawsuit because they were concerned
- 3:13that giving resources and services to
- 3:16men would take resources and services
- 3:19away from women as though we're all a
- 3:21zero-sum game and that if one won the
- 3:24other lost the problem for me goes back
- 3:28to cultural misandry it is an
- 3:31understanding that we don't value the
- 3:35paint of men we don't want to see it we
- 3:36don't want to hear about it we're
- 3:37embarrassed by it people are
- 3:40uncomfortable with this sort of thing
- 3:42and so it's not much of a moneymaker and
- 3:45I think feminists have recognized that
- 3:47and they have played their hand well at
- 3:49creating an industry that only
- 3:51recognizes female victims it's because
- 3:54this is what our culture has handed them
- 3:55on a silver platter
