  6. 0:12Facebook live now Vision was supposed to
  7. 0:16be here with us CEO and founder of
  8. 0:18lifebook no m valy i mean M valy but he
  9. 0:21um he wrote an email to us a couple days
  10. 0:24ago that he was flying to Turkey trying
  11. 0:27to get here from Estonia and I guess the
  12. 0:30stanbul got hit with the biggest
  13. 0:31snowstorm in the history of the city or
  14. 0:34something so they had to divert the
  15. 0:35plane to some little town on the Black
  16. 0:37Sea and he's been slowly trying to make
  17. 0:39his way back to K lour he's like an
  18. 0:41Anora Turkey right now so hopefully
  19. 0:44he'll get here tonight and we'll see him
  20. 0:46but unfortunately he can't be with us
  21. 0:47today so here we are what are we
  22. 0:50doing please post your questions below
  23. 0:53and let us know where you're from too so
  24. 0:55we can reach
  25. 0:56out why don't you tell us a little bit
  26. 0:58about your life and how how you got
  27. 1:01involved in life book and why you it how
  28. 1:03we started lifebook yeah it's a long
  29. 1:06time ago so about probably 22 23 years
  30. 1:11ago yeah we were doing a lot of personal
  31. 1:14development work listening to the great
  32. 1:16Tony Robbins Brian Tracy you know those
  33. 1:19guys way Dy yeah all the all the
  34. 1:23classics of our of our industry and I
  35. 1:27recall that I we were learning a lot we
  36. 1:30were taking a lot of notes but we
  37. 1:32weren't particularly happy with our with
  38. 1:37the speed and efficiency with with which
  39. 1:40we were able to integrate these amazing
  40. 1:42Concepts that we were learning it's like
  41. 1:45they go into our head we'd write them
  42. 1:46down but they didn't make it into our
  43. 1:48life in as meaningful a ways as we wish
  44. 1:51they they would so we started this
  45. 1:53little book where we're keeping our
  46. 1:55notes we started organizing our notes
  47. 1:57around certain categories of life and
  48. 2:01also certain buckets within those
  49. 2:03categories and over a few years this
  50. 2:07this notebook we had that had all our
  51. 2:10personal development notes in it started
  52. 2:12to really take shape and take form it
  53. 2:15was organized around the 12 categories
  54. 2:17and inside of each of those 12
  55. 2:19categories of life we started to really
  56. 2:21get clear on what we wanted out of that
  57. 2:24particular category of our life why we
  58. 2:26wanted it and what we would need to do
  59. 2:28to get it if we wanted to aeve that so
  60. 2:31life book was our tool that we used um
  61. 2:34as our own private little resource for
  62. 2:39probably at least a decade before we
  63. 2:41ever showed it to anybody and it just
  64. 2:42kind of evolved from
  65. 2:45there that's great that's wonderful guys
  66. 2:47so we're going to go through some of the
  67. 2:48top questions that people have already
  68. 2:50asked great and so one of the main
  69. 2:52questions is you know you mentioned
  70. 2:55before that you travel with your kids
  71. 2:57for five months out of the Year many
  72. 2:59people are wondering how do you
  73. 3:00accomplish
  74. 3:01that well what's going on okay so yeah
  75. 3:05you want to talk about that um well that
  76. 3:08all okay hold
  77. 3:10on what's going on this is our partner
  78. 3:12Joe polish he couldn't be here with us
  79. 3:14today but we take Joe everywhere that we
  80. 3:17go we don't go anywhere without Joe so
  81. 3:19so Joe's a partner in life book he also
  82. 3:21introduced us to Vision so you know our
  83. 3:25wonderful program that we created with
  84. 3:26mine Valley wouldn't be possible without
  85. 3:28Joe so we just wanted to have a little
  86. 3:30shout out to Joe okay back to the kids
  87. 3:33so um well we started traveling deep
  88. 3:37with our kids about 10 years ago
  89. 3:39spending almost half the year out of the
  90. 3:41country taking them out of public school
  91. 3:42where they went and we'd go on some
  92. 3:45major adventure to Southeast Asia and
  93. 3:47and just travel with them for five
  94. 3:49months and kind of homeschool them back
  95. 3:52then it was a hybrid put them in school
  96. 3:54wherever we were going they went to
  97. 3:55school in Bali one year um we we take a
  98. 3:58tutor with us a couple times we lived in
  99. 4:01Africa um South America southeast Asia
  100. 4:05Europe all over the world we go to a
  101. 4:06different place every year and during
  102. 4:09those early Years missy was just a
  103. 4:11master at working with the public school
  104. 4:15system to get their curriculum and and
  105. 4:18and set all that stuff up and it was a
  106. 4:20lot of work but it's evolved since then
  107. 4:22to where now we've just completely
  108. 4:25changed the DNA of our education system
  109. 4:28with our kids we we're teaching them
  110. 4:30ourselves now yeah we're teaching them
  111. 4:32we're not even doing homeschooling we're
  112. 4:33literally they're they're Jada come here
  113. 4:36our 16-year-old is we're goingon to drag
  114. 4:38our daughter on on camera right now
  115. 4:40where's our son this is Justin our 12y
  116. 4:43old this is Jade our 16-year-old J
  117. 4:46living in Bali this winter we're so
  118. 4:48we're living in Bali this winter and
  119. 4:50here here's the the fundamental concept
  120. 4:53of of what we're doing with our kids now
  121. 4:55is we don't even believe that we know
  122. 4:58what our children need to learn in the
  123. 5:00future to thrive in the 21st century we
  124. 5:02don't believe that anybody knows that
  125. 5:04certainly not school the the way school
  126. 5:06is set up right now it's just so
  127. 5:08Antiquated and fairly you know
  128. 5:10irrelevant to what we think the future
  129. 5:12is going to bring so we have put
  130. 5:14together a curriculum with our kids very
  131. 5:16loose where they're learning what
  132. 5:18they're interested in like Jade what are
  133. 5:20you what are you studying right now like
  134. 5:22I'm interested in dance or singing and
  135. 5:24like makeup and fashion and stuff like
  136. 5:26that so I kind of just look up YouTube
  137. 5:29videos MH she's learning on YouTube
  138. 5:31she's learning on TED Talks KH Academy
  139. 5:34Jade is Valley Academy mind Valley
  140. 5:36Academy is another big resource so and
  141. 5:39Justin what are you learning uh history
  142. 5:42yeah editing video editing and video
  143. 5:45creating I guess yeah yeah we feel like
  144. 5:47there's more value in kids knowing how
  145. 5:50to create and edit videos and post them
  146. 5:51on YouTube than there is in them
  147. 5:53learning about cumulus clouds and ous
  148. 5:55rocks right now that's a more you know
  149. 5:58that's a more relevant skill to have in
  150. 6:00the in the 21st century so literally
  151. 6:02we're letting them create their own
  152. 6:03curriculum certain things are mandatory
  153. 6:06yeah but I also think that it's really
  154. 6:07important for them to learn how to
  155. 6:09self-learn how to self direct their own
  156. 6:12learning and that's what they're doing
  157. 6:13and plus we've been able to spend so
  158. 6:15much more time with them they're not
  159. 6:16going to school they're not gone eight
  160. 6:17hours a day all together us and we're
  161. 6:20learning together we were in we were in
  162. 6:22Europe on a couple Life Book trips this
  163. 6:24last summer in September and uh during
  164. 6:28that trip Justin learned the history of
  165. 6:31the area that we were in and he taught
  166. 6:33it to us at dinner so he'd go on YouTube
  167. 6:36and he'd do all the research he needed
  168. 6:38his Channel The History Channel figure
  169. 6:40out what the history of that region was
  170. 6:42and then we didn't have to do anything
  171. 6:44at dinner he gave us lectures so what's
  172. 6:46he doing he's researching he's learning
  173. 6:48he's retaining or organizing information
  174. 6:51and then he's presenting it that's all
  175. 6:52good stuff so we've literally reinvented
  176. 6:54education we'll let you know in 20 years
  177. 6:57whether whether that worked or not that
  178. 6:59is that is truly Justin what what
  179. 7:02country was that um Croatia Croatia
  180. 7:06Croatia yeah EXC Serbian wow we'll have
  181. 7:09to teach us here at mine Valley about
  182. 7:12later today um another question that is
  183. 7:15on everyone's Minds is that you know we
  184. 7:18vision's been posting this picture of
  185. 7:20you at 29 and at 49 and you can see very
  186. 7:23clearly that you guys are in great
  187. 7:25physical condition Health happy very
  188. 7:27energetic and lots of Vitality what are
  189. 7:29your highest leverage health and fitness
  190. 7:31strategies that you can share with our
  191. 7:32community you want to go okay
  192. 7:35um going back 25 or 30 years the single
  193. 7:39most important thing that we did early
  194. 7:42on was that we figured out what a
  195. 7:44healthy plate of food looks like for us
  196. 7:46for our body types and we made a
  197. 7:48commitment to exercise every day and if
  198. 7:50you just did those two things if you
  199. 7:52just understood because it 90% of the
  200. 7:55game is meal planning and exercise 90%
  201. 7:58of the game everything else is details
  202. 7:59and sticking to it that's the other well
  203. 8:01you've got to be yes ex you got to do it
  204. 8:03every day and it's not just about nose
  205. 8:06to the grindstone discipline every day
  206. 8:07you can actually end up enjoying it and
  207. 8:09you should for sure so learning what a
  208. 8:11healthy plate of food looks like and
  209. 8:12then making a commitment to exercise
  210. 8:14every day that those were the two
  211. 8:16highest leverage points over 20 years
  212. 8:18but just everyone knows that kind of
  213. 8:19stuff to go a little bit deeper in the
  214. 8:21last five or so years the big
  215. 8:23breakthroughs we have had are green
  216. 8:26smoothies and green drinks so basically
  217. 8:29Miss will make what amounts to a liquid
  218. 8:32salad for us every breakfast and lunch
  219. 8:35and just those two drinks alone we've
  220. 8:38got all of our nutrition for the day so
  221. 8:40we can have a freaking corn dog or
  222. 8:42whatever it is or or some nice hot Ramen
  223. 8:46doesn't matter you know we've gotten our
  224. 8:49nutrition and so that's a big thing that
  225. 8:51was a big one we got that from lifebook
  226. 8:52Members Jason and N yeah Jason and n h
  227. 8:55us up we've we've the life but Community
  228. 8:57has so much Brilliance on the comes to
  229. 8:59health and fitness you know that's where
  230. 9:00we've learned that's where we've learned
  231. 9:02most of our health and fitness stuff
  232. 9:03recently is from the thought leaders in
  233. 9:05our own community and just you know what
  234. 9:08they do and now that we we're getting a
  235. 9:10little older we're starting to fast
  236. 9:12occasionally so like maybe twice we'll
  237. 9:14skip dinner a couple nights a week and
  238. 9:16that's been a big deal for us too yeah
  239. 9:18big deal one other thing that we really
  240. 9:19believe in you guys that's that's I
  241. 9:21think critical is you've got to sweat
  242. 9:25sweat is the way that you clean the
  243. 9:26largest organ in your body which is your
  244. 9:28skin and I mean sweat does so much for
  245. 9:31you and and a lot of people they they
  246. 9:34they work out and they go through the
  247. 9:36motions but they don't really like to go
  248. 9:38far enough that they really sweat you
  249. 9:40can cheat you can go sit in the SAA but
  250. 9:42you've got to clean your skin and to
  251. 9:44clean the toxins out of your body
  252. 9:46through sweating so those are those are
  253. 9:47some of our lots and lots of water y
  254. 9:49those are some of our high that's all
  255. 9:50probably pretty
  256. 9:52obvious it's good stuff that's wonderful
  257. 9:54guys so we had one question coming a
  258. 9:56couple questions coming in from the the
  259. 9:58feed here we have sorry if I'm not
  260. 10:00saying the name correctly but leuba
  261. 10:02wanted a your best recipe for Smoothie
  262. 10:05oh wow okay what I use is a big bag of
  263. 10:09spinach I stuff it in my Vitamix I use
  264. 10:12at least one maybe two avocados I
  265. 10:15sweeten it with either mango or carrot
  266. 10:17depending on what I've got or apple you
  267. 10:19can you can sweeten it with anything you
  268. 10:20want even melon I put a cucumber in and
  269. 10:23then I put um chia seed macaroo and um
  270. 10:26hemp seeds I think and a little bit of
  271. 10:29coconut oil and that's it so that's a
  272. 10:32vegetable smoothie that's not a fruit
  273. 10:34smoothie and you can literally you drink
  274. 10:37that you can feel it in your body you
  275. 10:39can use any greens you like you can use
  276. 10:41kale spinach even lettuce it doesn't
  277. 10:43really matter if you want to start a
  278. 10:45smoothie and you're not really used to
  279. 10:46the taste of like a pungent vegetable
  280. 10:49smoothie start with like like just
  281. 10:51lettuce and and cucumber just started
  282. 10:53off that's how I'm trying to get my kids
  283. 10:55back on it so I just wanted back to the
  284. 10:57last question truthfully the two highest
  285. 11:00leverage points in the last few years
  286. 11:02green smoothies from a meal plan
  287. 11:04perspective are magic and then interval
  288. 11:07training from from a from an exercise
  289. 11:09perspective is the biggest breakthrough
  290. 11:11in exercise physiology for probably the
  291. 11:13last 20 years for sure and yoga yoga and
  292. 11:16water and sleep those that's the other
  293. 11:18side of of that too well that's
  294. 11:20fantastic I just want to let you guys
  295. 11:21know that we have about 2 20 30 people
  296. 11:25live and about 48 comments so keep it
  297. 11:27coming keep
  298. 11:29in America yeah it's like 9 or 10 at
  299. 11:32night so yeah exactly thanks everybody
  300. 11:34we and they're coming from all over the
  301. 11:36world we've got from Hawaii from
  302. 11:38California from Toronto Toronto Ireland
  303. 11:43Hawaii we're going to be moving there
  304. 11:45soon
  305. 11:47India all over the place this is great
  306. 11:49excellent thanks for in Australia New
  307. 11:51Zealand wow very cool um we have one one
  308. 11:54question from AJ and he has a
  309. 11:57relationship question so
  310. 12:00in being a rantic relationship makes him
  311. 12:02vulnerable to too many distractions and
  312. 12:04he always feels that he let's see he
  313. 12:07loses his workpl party balance and hence
  314. 12:11he always prefers to stay
  315. 12:12single and has developed a phobia
  316. 12:14relationships he feels that he can only
  317. 12:17see himself with someone once he's
  318. 12:18achieved his professional goals do you
  319. 12:20have any tips for
  320. 12:22him what do you think about that well
  321. 12:25you know Miss and I have been together
  322. 12:26for so long um but you know we can only
  323. 12:30talk about our area of expertise and um
  324. 12:34we we we've we grew together we achieve
  325. 12:37success together so the idea of I've got
  326. 12:41to achieve success before I can find my
  327. 12:43mate was never something that was part
  328. 12:44of our sort of DNA and we work together
  329. 12:48now we do everything together I so I
  330. 12:51mean that strikes me as a limiting
  331. 12:52belief but I don't want to sit here and
  332. 12:54judge um I think that
  333. 12:57um if you found the right person you
  334. 13:01could achieve the kind of success you're
  335. 13:02after a lot faster with all that support
  336. 13:04and all that love and all that
  337. 13:05positivity if you could create a great
  338. 13:07relationship but um I would just check
  339. 13:10that premise and ask yourself if that
  340. 13:12might be a limiting belief that's what
  341. 13:14comes to that's a good suggestion that's
  342. 13:16a great suggestion guys and speaking of
  343. 13:17a relationship you've you've said before
  344. 13:20time and again that love is the
  345. 13:21foundation of your life um what does
  346. 13:23that mean to you guys and and if you
  347. 13:25have any tips you can share with the
  348. 13:26audience about building strong love
  349. 13:28relationships well I would say that it
  350. 13:30the first thing you have to do is spend
  351. 13:32time together I mean you have to commit
  352. 13:34the time and you have to be patient you
  353. 13:36have to be you know tolerant and you
  354. 13:38have to be open and you have to be you
  355. 13:41have to really come at it as one as like
  356. 13:44like John is first in my life he is
  357. 13:47that's what it means what she saying
  358. 13:48right now is what it means yeah love is
  359. 13:50the foundation of our life what that
  360. 13:52means is we put each other first so we
  361. 13:55can handle anything if our relationship
  362. 13:57is solid and strong I mean there's
  363. 13:58nothing that we can't overcome together
  364. 14:01if if we're going through a hard patch
  365. 14:03or if you know if our relationship was
  366. 14:05jacked up I don't think we could do
  367. 14:06anything right so what that means is as
  368. 14:09long as our love is strong and solid our
  369. 14:12our family life is awesome we're going
  370. 14:15to feel good we're going to be able to
  371. 14:16perform well Missy's needs must be
  372. 14:20attended to First is my highest priority
  373. 14:22and she feels the same way and since we
  374. 14:25have that mindset we we tend to stay in
  375. 14:28a very very strong
  376. 14:29place from a love relationship
  377. 14:31perspective and then together we feel
  378. 14:33like we can we can achieve anything we
  379. 14:35set our minds to we so much stronger
  380. 14:37together it is the foundation I feel
  381. 14:39like it's my job to care for John it's
  382. 14:42my job to care for John and our family
  383. 14:44so I come from that perspective and John
  384. 14:47does the same thing he cares for me
  385. 14:49first and then the family yeah and we're
  386. 14:51just so much stronger together as one
  387. 14:54instead of you know separated so that's
  388. 14:56that's how we that's how we do it
  389. 14:59awesome thanks so much for sharing that
  390. 15:01guys we have one more another question
  391. 15:02coming in from Sue she wants to know
  392. 15:05this in relation to child care she wants
  393. 15:07to know how she can optim optimize her
  394. 15:09life around a teenager who constantly
  395. 15:11demands her time she organizes time outs
  396. 15:14for her but these usually are
  397. 15:16interrupted by work or other issues
  398. 15:18what's the best way around this or how
  399. 15:20to factor that in can you say that again
  400. 15:23sure basically the question Center on is
  401. 15:25how she how can she optimize her life
  402. 15:27what with a with having teenagers who
  403. 15:30were um demanding her time as well as
  404. 15:32work in other priorities um well I mean
  405. 15:37that's a hard one if you have to work
  406. 15:38outside the home for us we work in our
  407. 15:40home our kids are with us they work with
  408. 15:42us they like I'll be on conference calls
  409. 15:45in my office and Jade will be on the
  410. 15:46floor painting or drawing or Justin will
  411. 15:48be hanging out in the same room playing
  412. 15:50video games or so it's it's hard it's
  413. 15:53hard to be a mom and work outside the
  414. 15:56home that's one that's the number one
  415. 15:59that we found at lifebook that's really
  416. 16:00the number one the greatest challenge in
  417. 16:02America yeah probably 50 million women
  418. 16:06deal with this it comes down to math you
  419. 16:09guys there's not enough hours in the
  420. 16:10days to be a fantastic career woman and
  421. 16:14a stellar mother and an amazing wife and
  422. 16:16to have time for yourself it's a fraking
  423. 16:18math problem especially if you're a
  424. 16:20single mom I'm not sure you know this is
  425. 16:23not something that many personal
  426. 16:24development people would sit on camera
  427. 16:26and say but there's no easy answer to
  428. 16:28this it comes down to Value judgments it
  429. 16:30comes down to time prioritization and it
  430. 16:33comes down to something's got to give so
  431. 16:36so I would say one thing you could do
  432. 16:39Sue is you could maybe work out with
  433. 16:41your I think you said Son your teenage
  434. 16:43son you could do grocery shopping you
  435. 16:45could do some of the things that you
  436. 16:47need to do in addition just like your
  437. 16:49work and everything else but home tasks
  438. 16:52you do with him that's a good way it
  439. 16:54makes it more fun and it's a way to
  440. 16:56spend time together so that's a great
  441. 16:58suggestion
  442. 17:00multitasking could be a key if you if
  443. 17:02you've got to workout like I I wrestle
  444. 17:04with Justin for my workout or I will
  445. 17:06sword fight with Justin for my workout
  446. 17:09I'm killing two birds with one stone you
  447. 17:11can cook with your kids you can you can
  448. 17:13do a lot of things that you've got to do
  449. 17:14anyway and try to make them family
  450. 17:16activities get your kids as involved in
  451. 17:19your personal life as you can that's and
  452. 17:20in your work life get them involved even
  453. 17:22if you work outside the home bring if
  454. 17:24you have to bring your work home get
  455. 17:25them involved kids are so unbelievably
  456. 17:28plugged in and they know what's going on
  457. 17:30and they have solutions that we can't
  458. 17:31even think of and and one more piece of
  459. 17:33advice is that this two shall pass and
  460. 17:37you've got to be very very cognizant and
  461. 17:40conscious of the fact that you're going
  462. 17:41to have a career for a lot of years
  463. 17:43probably decades you're not going to
  464. 17:45have a teenager for very much longer so
  465. 17:47you might want to take that into
  466. 17:48consideration when you're setting your
  467. 17:49priorities good suggestion it's a tough
  468. 17:52one that there's no easy answer and
  469. 17:55really good question not going to
  470. 17:56sugarcoat it that that's a that's a
  471. 17:58tough Challen challenge is going to take
  472. 17:59a lot of Consciousness to to overcome
  473. 18:02yeah thank you wow that was really
  474. 18:04awesome thank you so much for answering
  475. 18:06that guys and I I understand that
  476. 18:09sentiment as well and I think part of
  477. 18:11the reason why we created this Quest and
  478. 18:13and with life book here with M Valley is
  479. 18:15to help people kind of organize what
  480. 18:17they want and how to go out and get that
  481. 18:19have it all uh we have a couple more
  482. 18:22questions here let me see
  483. 18:25um from
  484. 18:29Barbara she has a question on on goal
  485. 18:32setting okay so Barbara is asking how do
  486. 18:35you begin planning your goals if you do
  487. 18:37not know where to start she has an idea
  488. 18:39of what she would like to do but she
  489. 18:41doesn't know exactly where to start
  490. 18:43particularly in terms of
  491. 18:46profession so um so she's having trouble
  492. 18:51knowing she she she understands some of
  493. 18:53the things that she wants but she's
  494. 18:55having a hard time knowing where to
  495. 18:57start when it comes to go planning yeah
  496. 18:59she she has a hard time understanding
  497. 19:01what to Zone in on and exactly what to
  498. 19:02do okay well I'm just going to I'm going
  499. 19:04to go ahead and plug the quest and plug
  500. 19:06lifebook here because that's what we do
  501. 19:08at lifebook we help you think down what
  502. 19:10you want in every important area of your
  503. 19:13life and help you start the process of
  504. 19:16setting goals getting getting crystal
  505. 19:18clear on some of the objectives you like
  506. 19:20to
  507. 19:20achieve and prioritizing those
  508. 19:23objectives and then helping you with
  509. 19:25strategies to to achieve those things so
  510. 19:29best practices are known I mean goal
  511. 19:31setting is not a new thing people have
  512. 19:32been studying it for a long time the
  513. 19:35information you want is out there you
  514. 19:37don't have to feel like you have to
  515. 19:38reinvent the wheel here did she sign up
  516. 19:41for the 30-day Quest yeah Barbara let us
  517. 19:43know Barbara did you sign up the did you
  518. 19:45sign up the quest if not you should not
  519. 19:47if not yous you should do that if not
  520. 19:50you should do that yeah absolutely by
  521. 19:53the end of that program you will be so
  522. 19:55clear on on some of the things the most
  523. 19:57important things that you want to life
  524. 19:59and what the next steps to getting them
  525. 20:01will be that I think you'll be on your
  526. 20:02way short of signing up for the quest if
  527. 20:05you don't want to if you don't want to
  528. 20:06do that you there there are there's
  529. 20:08plenty of information online that can
  530. 20:10can help walk you through a very simple
  531. 20:12process you don't have to feel like you
  532. 20:14got to figure it out on your own no but
  533. 20:16if you do sign up for the quests which I
  534. 20:17would highly recommend um the great
  535. 20:19thing about the quest is that you have a
  536. 20:21built-in accountability there's a
  537. 20:23community and that is like I think that
  538. 20:26that's one of the keys to doing anything
  539. 20:28getting anything really done is having
  540. 20:30that accountability because if you say
  541. 20:31it to a group of people or even one
  542. 20:33person you are going to do it so I would
  543. 20:35say Barbara sign up for the quest today
  544. 20:37I'm I'm going to throw one more thing
  545. 20:38I'm going to give you the 30 second
  546. 20:40overview of what life book and uh our
  547. 20:42Associated boot camp does lifebook takes
  548. 20:45you through the 12 most important areas
  549. 20:47of your life and helps you get crystal
  550. 20:49clear on what you want in each of those
  551. 20:51areas and develop strategies to help you
  552. 20:54get that then after you're done with
  553. 20:56life book and have figured out your your
  554. 20:57entire life
  555. 20:59you move into the boot camp program
  556. 21:01where we help you turn your vision into
  557. 21:03a strategic plan and literally take you
  558. 21:06through a goal setting process and a
  559. 21:08goal prioritization process so you come
  560. 21:10out of that program with a crystal clear
  561. 21:12plan of action to get what you want out
  562. 21:14of life so it just depends on how
  563. 21:15hardcore you want to go there are
  564. 21:17awesome programs out there and you
  565. 21:19should be doing them if you're concerned
  566. 21:21with with setting and accomplishing
  567. 21:22worthy goals wow awesome and Barbara
  568. 21:25chimed in she says thank you and she's
  569. 21:27definitely thinking of doing do it you
  570. 21:30won't be sorry I promise you that no
  571. 21:32it's great we're doing it we're going
  572. 21:33through all right one more another
  573. 21:35question from Joy she is asking a really
  574. 21:38great question actually I'm curious of
  575. 21:39this of myself who inspires you do you
  576. 21:42have any favorite books or resources
  577. 21:43that you can share oh that's a great
  578. 21:46question Joy easy too yeah go go okay so
  579. 21:48here are the big ones in our lives you
  580. 21:50guys
  581. 21:52um the first the first book that I have
  582. 21:55to cite is Ein Ran's Atlas Shrugged it's
  583. 21:59a book that transformed both of us at a
  584. 22:01cellular level I've read it nine times I
  585. 22:03read it every three or four years in my
  586. 22:05life since I was 21 years old it's not
  587. 22:08without its problems but it is an
  588. 22:11amazing philosophical Treatise through
  589. 22:14fiction on the universe and man's place
  590. 22:18in it it's a it's an amazing
  591. 22:19philosophical book the second book that
  592. 22:22blew our heads off when we were young
  593. 22:24was Cosmos by Carl Sean which gave us a
  594. 22:27crystal clear picture of the universe
  595. 22:29that we live in um How the Universe
  596. 22:31works we were both raised in in
  597. 22:35religious homes that that you know and
  598. 22:38we don't have beefs with religion but um
  599. 22:42our first deep encounter with science
  600. 22:45really allowed us to understand that the
  601. 22:47Universe was a knowable place that
  602. 22:49operates under certain laws that you can
  603. 22:51understand and once you understand the
  604. 22:53way the universe works you can navigate
  605. 22:55through more effectively and then at
  606. 22:58Shrugged gave us a sense of what man and
  607. 23:01women's role was in that Universe the
  608. 23:04combination was very good for us at the
  609. 23:06time we were in our late teens early 20s
  610. 23:09yeah so from a philosophical perspective
  611. 23:10those were the two game changers for us
  612. 23:12and then you layer on top of that our
  613. 23:14dear friend and Mentor who's gone now
  614. 23:16Nathaniel Brandon he just made it all
  615. 23:19beautiful with emotion and understanding
  616. 23:22he psychologist yeah that he wrote 20
  617. 23:25books mainly focused on the subject of
  618. 23:27self-esteem Daniel Brandon a couple of
  619. 23:30his best books the six pillars of
  620. 23:32self-esteem The Art of Living
  621. 23:33consciously honoring the self taking
  622. 23:36responsibility he was he was a big big
  623. 23:39influence on us and then of course all
  624. 23:41the personal development great you guys
  625. 23:42we we've done you know we've done
  626. 23:43everything there is to do Tony Robbins
  627. 23:45deot choer Wayne Dyer Zig Ziggler all
  628. 23:48the greats all those guys so lots of
  629. 23:50lots of personal development study lots
  630. 23:53of sort of philosophy and lots of
  631. 23:56psychology lots of people like I have
  632. 23:59personal mentors like de Brandon who was
  633. 24:01Nathaniel's wife my parents my kids my
  634. 24:05husband that's all I'm surrounded by
  635. 24:07inspiration the entire lifebook
  636. 24:09Community I'm inspired by inspired by
  637. 24:11the Mind Valley Community so it's it's
  638. 24:13everywhere you look for it w that's
  639. 24:16beautiful so I'm just going to repeat
  640. 24:17the name of the first book was mentioned
  641. 24:18there's a couple people are asking so
  642. 24:19it's Atlas Shrugged by IR Rand Atlas
  643. 24:21Shrugged by IR Rand yes um another
  644. 24:24question from Athena what do you do for
  645. 24:27a powerful morning routine
  646. 24:29hi Athena what do you want to say about
  647. 24:31that well we have our we have our little
  648. 24:34um we have our morning affirmations
  649. 24:36which we go through phases I think with
  650. 24:39our morning travel a lot and it get gets
  651. 24:42it gets upset sometimes so um we have
  652. 24:45our physiological morning rituals our
  653. 24:48exercise and so on um you know I would
  654. 24:51say we have more we have more of an
  655. 24:53evening ritual that we do now our
  656. 24:55morning ritual has kind of switched to
  657. 24:57our nighttime which will we'll say good
  658. 24:59night to our kids like around 7
  659. 25:01sometimes about three or four times a
  660. 25:03week and we will have hours and hours of
  661. 25:07date time in our room where we have
  662. 25:10amazing connection we have deep
  663. 25:14Conversation Energy work massage making
  664. 25:17love talking and and yeah we've
  665. 25:19developed a really super strong
  666. 25:21nighttime ritual one more thing in the
  667. 25:23morning though that is a fantastic way
  668. 25:25to start your morning is with a little
  669. 25:27bit of gratitude meditation that sets up
  670. 25:29the whole day in an amazing way yeah
  671. 25:33always and meditation there's a book
  672. 25:36called Miracle morning that that is the
  673. 25:38best book in the world that outlines
  674. 25:40killer morning rituals that You' you've
  675. 25:43get
  676. 25:44yeah great um so a question from John
  677. 25:49what are some of the things you guys
  678. 25:50struggle
  679. 25:52with finances neither one of us are good
  680. 25:54with numbers so we're artist we have to
  681. 25:56have a good team around us for finances
  682. 25:58we can't hold numbers in our heads yeah
  683. 26:00so we have a good team we we struggle
  684. 26:04with being surrounded by so much
  685. 26:06opportunity and we both grow up poor
  686. 26:09that it's difficult for us to say no to
  687. 26:12a really really good idea that's true
  688. 26:14and so the the biggest struggle that we
  689. 26:16have in our lives is getting sucked into
  690. 26:20too much opportunity and losing freedom
  691. 26:24of the hours of our days we love
  692. 26:26achievement we love accomplishment we
  693. 26:28love we love creating things we love
  694. 26:31starting companies and we love doing new
  695. 26:34things so what we have to watch always
  696. 26:37in our lives is that we don't take on
  697. 26:38too much that we don't say yes to too
  698. 26:40many things and that we protect our free
  699. 26:42time that that's probably one of our
  700. 26:44that's our biggest and we're actually
  701. 26:47working that out right now we're getting
  702. 26:48ready to completely reinvent our lives
  703. 26:51this year so super excited about that
  704. 26:53when I get frustrated when I get
  705. 26:55frustrated is when I I love all the work
  706. 26:59I do like literally right now we're
  707. 27:01actively running four companies and I
  708. 27:03love every single one of them I love all
  709. 27:05of the business I do but sometimes the
  710. 27:07volume gets too much and then I got
  711. 27:08pissed off because I got into the same
  712. 27:10situation that that I that I get into a
  713. 27:12lot where I've just got too much on my
  714. 27:15plate so that's what we're trying to
  715. 27:16really really focus on dialing that back
  716. 27:19a little bit in the next few
  717. 27:21years great question great wow and
  718. 27:25finances I think it sounds like it's an
  719. 27:27issue for is it's so hard yeah
  720. 27:29especially for creatives it's just like
  721. 27:31you guys it's you know um I'm I'm
  722. 27:34dyslexic my little dyslexic our whole
  723. 27:37family I come from along lines of of
  724. 27:39dyslexics a lot of creative people just
  725. 27:42have the easiest time in the world
  726. 27:44holding huge amounts of information in
  727. 27:46our heads if it's the right kind of
  728. 27:48information but but when it comes to
  729. 27:50spreadsheets I I'm like I'd rather go to
  730. 27:52the dentist nightmare for for like two
  731. 27:56hours exactly and one of the biggest
  732. 27:58things that we've also struggled with is
  733. 28:00investment like we don't really know
  734. 28:01what to invest in except ourselves our
  735. 28:04businesses and one of our very dear
  736. 28:06friends Garrett Gunderson hi Garrett if
  737. 28:08you're watching um told us years ago why
  738. 28:12don't you tell he fixed that problem he
  739. 28:14understand that we we've made a lot of
  740. 28:16money in our lives and we've started a
  741. 28:17lot of awesome companies and and we've
  742. 28:20made a lot of Investments that are just
  743. 28:21tanked because we're just not good at it
  744. 28:23we could never understand it we lost so
  745. 28:25much money in the stock market we've
  746. 28:26lost money in in real estate State and
  747. 28:28finally I was having this meeting with
  748. 28:30Garrett and he said John you should
  749. 28:32never ever invest in anything in which
  750. 28:36you're not an expert you are an expert
  751. 28:38in Contemporary Art that's what you know
  752. 28:41and I've always looked at my my
  753. 28:42contemporary art collection as a hobby
  754. 28:46he said John this is not a hobby this is
  755. 28:48the core thing that you do and so this
  756. 28:51was that was about eight or nine years
  757. 28:52ago and literally from that point
  758. 28:54forward we we we've never bought another
  759. 28:56stock we've never bought
  760. 28:58that whole world we don't do any of that
  761. 29:01we invest in our own companies we invest
  762. 29:03in Contemporary Art we invest in our
  763. 29:04homes our experiences the things we know
  764. 29:07so we we solved that problem and a
  765. 29:09really awesome Financial team which we
  766. 29:11have finally got that's something that
  767. 29:14we need if you're not good at it like we
  768. 29:15suck at it it's so important to find the
  769. 29:17right people to surround yourself with
  770. 29:19so a great question that's so amazing I
  771. 29:22mean I've seen your art collection and
  772. 29:23it just SAR and you guys in mind Valley
  773. 29:27can definitely see some of videos that
  774. 29:28we have of John and Missy with vision at
  775. 29:30their place it's truly spectacular
  776. 29:33thanks yeah thank you for having me
  777. 29:36there we have a question from Jim Price
  778. 29:39uh you two seem so well suited to each
  779. 29:41other how did you meet was it love it
  780. 29:43for sight or did your relationship
  781. 29:44develop over time juicy question it was
  782. 29:48love for Sight actually for me not for
  783. 29:50him but for
  784. 29:51me it was I was 17 I tell the yeah go
  785. 29:55ahead we have a we have an interesting
  786. 29:57this is a crazy crazy thing I was 17
  787. 29:59years old and I was in the small town in
  788. 30:01Missouri and um working at a grocery
  789. 30:04store as the bad girl and he came
  790. 30:07through the line he had just moved there
  791. 30:09from wherever you came from that at that
  792. 30:11point he's a nomadic person anyway and
  793. 30:13I'm like small Hometown grew up on a
  794. 30:15farm never really went anywhere except
  795. 30:17to St Louis big city and um when he came
  796. 30:21through I talked to the girl that was
  797. 30:23working with me and I said after he went
  798. 30:24out I was like that is the kind of man
  799. 30:26I'm going to marry I mean didn't know
  800. 30:28him I couldn't even believe I was saying
  801. 30:29these words and then within like 3 weeks
  802. 30:33I auditioned to be in a band and there
  803. 30:37he is she's a sing he's the guy he's the
  804. 30:40leader of the band and I was like okay
  805. 30:42so I moved there with my brother and we
  806. 30:44were in the music business at the time
  807. 30:46and and anyway um we needed a backup
  808. 30:50singer and interviewed a bunch of people
  809. 30:53and Miss got the job so she basically
  810. 30:55became part of our family for the next
  811. 30:56for the next year sure so it took me a
  812. 30:59little bit longer than it did well I was
  813. 31:01only 17 I was such a little girl I was
  814. 31:03like 22 and I had a massive crush on him
  815. 31:05and I was just so not mature still not
  816. 31:08but but then when it happened when I
  817. 31:09fell for her it was all over so we you
  818. 31:12know I'm I'm afraid that our story isn't
  819. 31:14very
  820. 31:15helpful it is very because it was it was
  821. 31:18crazy and and magical and and once we
  822. 31:21really became lovers it was just but we
  823. 31:24were friends for 5 years which I think
  824. 31:26was really great really close friends
  825. 31:28like I was friends with his almost like
  826. 31:30brother and sister close and I think
  827. 31:33that that if anything I think that was a
  828. 31:35really good base because we got to know
  829. 31:37each other on a very different sort of
  830. 31:39level and that was great I think but
  831. 31:42when our love affair started it was just
  832. 31:45all over and I mean we we're
  833. 31:49incredibly it was a gift our
  834. 31:51relationship is a gift so we feel that
  835. 31:53way for sure again that story is not
  836. 31:55very helpful sorry great is what it is
  837. 31:58great question I hope that's helpful
  838. 32:00well on that same ve maybe you guys can
  839. 32:01share some of the tips that have made
  840. 32:03your relationship Thrive over the years
  841. 32:06and how you cultivated such a wonderful
  842. 32:08relationship and maintained that that
  843. 32:10spark from the beginning yeah we we sit
  844. 32:12down every Saturday evening and go over
  845. 32:14a list of Missy shortcomings and and and
  846. 32:17you know oh see this is what I'm dealing
  847. 32:19with but see really truthfully I'm the
  848. 32:21most patient human being on the
  849. 32:24planet all right so here are here are
  850. 32:26here are the big here are the big tips
  851. 32:28guys so it having a great relationship
  852. 32:31is all about communication and
  853. 32:33connection period that's what it's about
  854. 32:35time you have to spend time well that's
  855. 32:36how you get the great communication and
  856. 32:38connection so having a weekly date night
  857. 32:42overnight no matter where we are in the
  858. 32:45world has been something that we've done
  859. 32:47for over 25 years having a an evening
  860. 32:50connection ritual whether it's walking
  861. 32:52around our garden or having a cocktail
  862. 32:53overlooking the wherever the heck we
  863. 32:55happen to be and catching up on the on
  864. 32:58the activities of the day
  865. 33:01um we we take an alone trip once a
  866. 33:04quarter together we just make sure to
  867. 33:06protect our intimacy and to protect our
  868. 33:10communication and and to just connect at
  869. 33:12a deep level that's what it's about
  870. 33:14that's what a relationship is about so
  871. 33:16the best way to achieve that is through
  872. 33:20repetitive rituals that you just just
  873. 33:22become part of your lifestyle yeah and I
  874. 33:26would also say that we're just really
  875. 33:27interested I like I'm super interested
  876. 33:29in John always have been I can't get
  877. 33:32enough of him he's super deep he's he's
  878. 33:35so creative I just want to know more and
  879. 33:37more about him and so starting out in
  880. 33:40our relationship I would eeve drop on
  881. 33:42all of his business calls this was when
  882. 33:43I was just an artist and not I was a
  883. 33:45stay-at-home mom and I would listen in
  884. 33:47on all of his business calls so I knew
  885. 33:49what was going on in his work world and
  886. 33:52then we started working together on a
  887. 33:54few projects we made couple records
  888. 33:56together back in the day and and then um
  889. 33:58we really worked closely together on
  890. 34:01Life Book and I think that um just being
  891. 34:04in interested in each other all the time
  892. 34:07is a really important thing and really
  893. 34:09spend that time together you have to
  894. 34:10spend the time together so that's what I
  895. 34:13would say too awesome guys thank you
  896. 34:16this is not a question but I I really
  897. 34:17have to say it because I know Rich's a
  898. 34:19huge fan of Star Wars and I'm and Von is
  899. 34:22saying Elise they use the force and John
  900. 34:24trained with Master Yoda and Missy is an
  901. 34:27Intergalactic princess well there you go
  902. 34:29oh that's awesome who was that who was
  903. 34:32that that's mvon thank thank you you are
  904. 34:35awesome shout out to you guys that's
  905. 34:37awesome thank you that's sweet we I want
  906. 34:39to start closing up here and I basically
  907. 34:41want to tell everyone that I know
  908. 34:42there's a lot of questions that have
  909. 34:43come in and do do the quest I've taken
  910. 34:46it I've been working with John and Missi
  911. 34:48if you have any fear around it the
  912. 34:51hardest part in my opinion is just doing
  913. 34:53it up and we're actually we're going
  914. 34:55through we're signing up and we're doing
  915. 34:56it and our life we'll see you guys there
  916. 34:59and we'll take good care of you if
  917. 35:00you're if you're nervous or worried
  918. 35:02we'll nurture you through this just
  919. 35:03reach out to us tribe there's Community
  920. 35:06we all have each other's back in support
  921. 35:08of this and I just wanted to ask one
  922. 35:10last question to you guys if there's
  923. 35:11anything else you want to add about the
  924. 35:13quest about life book seminars in
  925. 35:15general and any anything you would want
  926. 35:17to share on that I would just say I'm
  927. 35:19just really grateful to be working with
  928. 35:20mind Valley we have known vision for
  929. 35:22almost nine years now and um we've
  930. 35:25talked about working together and just
  931. 35:27never has been the right time for either
  932. 35:29one of us or either one of our companies
  933. 35:31and I'm just really I feel very blessed
  934. 35:33and really excited about this it's a
  935. 35:35match Heaven I I knew it would be from
  936. 35:37the first time literally the first
  937. 35:39conversation Bish I ever had I'll never
  938. 35:40forget it I was in Bali he was in KL he
  939. 35:43talked about his company I talked about
  940. 35:45our company and I knew that we were
  941. 35:48going to have a big future together we
  942. 35:50love what M Valley's doing and and I
  943. 35:52know that you guys love what we're doing
