1:12the highways flows through our countries
1:16like the veins in the human body and
1:19every highway have seen some nasty stuff
1:22accidents abductions and murders it's
1:26just things that happens in this world
1:29we live in but one highway beats them
1:33all one highway have seen 79 cases of
1:38murder and missing people in the last 50
1:41years it began in 1969 and it goes on
1:46until this day but the story of highway
1:4916 can't just be clumped up in a short
1:53description the violence that has
1:56infected that road for 50 years is vast
1:59tonight I will take you for a ride
2:02through the highway of tears a ride
2:05through time and of course we will begin
2:08at the starting point the year it began
2:131969 although the murder of 26 years old
2:19gloria moody didn't technically take
2:22place on highway 16 it is still
2:25considered connected to the other cases
2:27that did take place on highway 16
2:30she was murdered nearby highway 97 not
2:34too far away from where the highway of
2:36tears runs through both highways are
2:39connected to each other
2:41Gloria Moody had been on a vacation with
2:44her relatives that fall it was on
2:46October 25th that she disappeared she
2:49had been to several bars with her
2:52brother just having a good time with
2:54family but that night she just seems to
2:57have disappeared her brothers stated
3:01that she had been right behind him but
3:03then she was just gone but she wasn't
3:06gone for long on October 26 1969 the day
3:11after her disappearance she was found
3:14dead
3:15she had been stripped naked she had been
3:18raped and severely beaten by her killer
3:21or killers as a result of the beating
3:24gloria moody bled to death only 26 years
3:28old Gloria just like many other victims
3:31of highway 16 was an indigenous woman a
3:35native Canadian the police had three
3:38main suspects in the case but they were
3:41never arrested and so the death of
3:44Gloria Moody remains unsolved - they
3:48stay I want to be clear about something
3:53here I have 79 cases to cover some of
3:57these cases doesn't have much info to go
3:59on so some of the cases I described will
4:03be short while some may be a little
4:05longer
4:06Tracey Clifton is one of the missing it
4:09is clear when exactly she went missing
4:11but it was sometime in the 70s she had
4:15been in an argument with a mother and in
4:17a fit of rebellion and rage she had run
4:20out of her house and started walking by
4:22highway 16 she was never seen again
4:28Micheline Perret 18 years old was
4:31murdered in July 1970 just like Gloria
4:34Moody she wasn't technically murdered
4:37along the highway of tears but she's
4:39still a part of the epen a project an
4:41organization that investigates 18 cases
4:44of missing and murdered women most of
4:47them along the highway of tears
4:49Micheline may have been murdered several
4:51miles north of highway 16 by highway 29
4:55but she still considered an official
4:58victim of the highway of tears she was
5:01hitching that summer day many people
5:04hitchhike back then two women remember
5:07giving her a ride to an area close to
5:08Hudson's Hope but she would never be
5:11seen alive again
5:12it wasn't until August 8 that berry
5:15pickers stumbled upon Michelin's
5:17decomposing corpse she had been struck
5:20with a blunt object and died her death
5:22like so many others is still unsolved
5:26Helen Claire frost was only 17 years old
5:29she disappeared despite her young age
5:33she had gone through some very tough
5:34months she had given up an infant baby
5:37for adoption her boyfriend had broken up
5:39with her and her roommate was raising a
5:42newborn baby in their apartment
5:44she couldn't even be there it was a
5:46constant reminder of her own baby she
5:49had given away on October 13 1970 halan
5:53told her roommate that she was going out
5:55for a walk the apartment in Prince
5:57George where they were living only set a
5:59couple blocks away from her highway 16
6:02bled through the city helen was also an
6:05avid hitchhiker helen was never seen
6:08after leaving the apartment that day
6:09she's still missing but a likeliest
6:13explanation is that she died 49 years
6:17ago that's the thing about the highway
6:20of tears it runs through so many empty
6:24areas areas that provide cover and
6:26privacy the soil is soft so bodies are
6:29easy to bury and if they're not buried
6:32there is plenty of scavengers around a
6:34teenage girl walking alone by the
6:37highway of tears must have seemed like
6:39easy pickings for whoever grabbed her if
6:43she was murdered that is some people
6:45thought she had run away but she had
6:48left everything she owned in her
6:49apartment no I don't think she ran away
6:53at all I believe she was murdered by
6:56some sexually impulsive killer but
6:58that's just my opinion
6:59highway 16 is after all the perfect
7:02place for a killer to operate

7:06Jeane 18 years old was out by highway 16
7:10with a brother on October 14 1971 they
7:15had their bicycles just had an overall
7:17good time together at some point jeans
7:20and Perry's brother decided to ride home
7:22to fetch a jacket when he returned he
7:26heard what sounded like a door slamming
7:28but when he arrived at the source of the
7:31noise nothing was there no car no sister
7:35since that day so many years ago jeans
7:39and Perry has been missing and fall a
7:42certainly a likely scenario in this case
7:45the police looked for days but they just
7:48couldn't find her anywhere
7:50to this day her sister wonders whether
7:53the attacker had thrown her off the high
7:55cliff if she has been in the river for
7:58all these years
8:00sadly I don't think we'll find that out

8:07Gateway's was a good girl she told other
8:10girls not to do drugs and she
8:12volunteered as a guide to those that
8:14needed it she was 19 when she
8:16disappeared it was on October 19 1973
8:20that Gale disappeared only 19 years old
8:23and gone she remained for several months
8:27it wasn't until April of 1974 that her
8:31new decomposing body was found in a
8:33water-filled ditch she had hitchhike to
8:37her parents in Kamloops the day she
8:38disappeared and someone with bad
8:41intentions had picked her up and the
8:43killer in this case is thought to be
8:45Bobby Jack Fallon
8:46his DNA was linked to another murder
8:49committed on the highway of tears many
8:51years later and he's thought to be
8:54involved in a handful of other murders
8:55as well the murder of Gayle ways is one
8:59of them sadly though Fowler will never
9:02stand responsible for the murder of
9:03Gayle ways as he died in prison in 2006
9:07the highway of tears had claimed another
9:10victim
9:12it wouldn't take long for another victim
9:15to be claimed though this one is also
9:17thought to be the handiwork of Bobby
9:18Fowler linked to one of three deaths by
9:21his DNA in the early 70s all deaths
9:25occurred around highway 16 and all three
9:27victims were young women that died under
9:29similar circumstances
9:31Pamela Darlington was 19 years old only
9:34a month had gone by since the
9:36disappearance of Gayle ways in October
9:38and in November Pamela Darlington became
9:41the next in line she had been in a bar
9:43on that November night no one knows who
9:46she met there or who she met as she left
9:48but that was the last time she was seen
9:51alive the next morning a 17 year old boy
9:54was walking his dog as he discovered
9:56panelist nude body laying face down
9:59close to a river Pamela had been
10:02murdered in Kamloops by highway 16 both
10:07Pamela and Gayle had died under similar
10:09circumstances
10:10maybe Pamela had hitched a ride or maybe
10:13someone had just followed her but there
10:15seems to be a clear connection between
10:17the victims cause of death the way they
10:21were found and the fact that they looked
10:23similar and they were both young pretty
10:25women with flowing hair the highway of
10:28tears had a few real monsters throughout
10:31the years serial killers
10:33it almost seems like the desolate long
10:36stretching highway attracts the worst
10:39human beings possible
10:43let's talk a little bit about Bobby Jack
10:46Fowler a man who recently has been
10:49dubbed the highway of tears killer in
10:531995 a woman jumped out of a motel
10:56window in Oregon USA she still had a
10:59rope tied to her ankle but her screamed
11:01for help caught attention
11:03that's how Bobby Fowler was caught he
11:06was arrested and sentenced to 16 years
11:08in prison Palmer got lung cancer at some
11:11point during his time in prison and died
11:13as a result of that cancer in 2006 now
11:17he stands as a suspect for over 16
11:20murders in both the US and Canada three
11:23American victims missing young women
11:26that I unfortunately don't have time to
11:28go into in this video and then there is
11:3013 of the missing and murdered highway
11:33of terrorist victims he has been proven
11:35responsible for the murder of Colleen
11:37McMillan 16 years old in 1974 and a
11:43strong suspect in the murder of Pamela
11:45Darlington in Gale ways now I'm not an
11:47expert but to me the two victims I just
11:50mentioned are probable victims of Bobby
11:52however I have doubt regarding the 10
11:56other victims along the highway of tears
11:58sure some of them fit the same sort of
12:01description as his proven murders but it
12:04feels more like they are throwing all of
12:06these cases against the wall to see what
12:08sticks and unless DNA evidence has been
12:11recovered from these cases I doubt any
12:14of it will Bobby will never see
12:17punishment for his crime or crimes but
12:20at least the ones left behind in the
12:22rubble the family members the close ones
12:25can get some sort of closure to one of
12:28the most horrific chapters of their life
12:32Colleen just like so many others
12:34disappeared when she was hitchhiking she
12:37was going to a friend's house but never
12:38made it there she was gone for a month
12:41before her nude body was found now one
12:45thing I noticed is that the American
12:47victims picked up along highways that
12:49Bobby Fowler is suspected of all were
12:52found under similar circumstances dumped
12:54in the elements nude
12:56however their cases includes one more
12:59detail cause of death they had been
13:02raped and strangled to death so taking
13:05that under consideration it wouldn't
13:08surprise me at all if these three
13:10highway of tears victims died the same
13:12way which isn't at all far-fetched
13:14considering they were found nude a
13:16couple of months after the murder of
13:18Colleen McMillan another young girl
13:20would disappear along Highway 16 it was
13:24in December of 1974 that 14 years old
13:27Monica Ignis disappeared
13:29some people claim to have seen a young
13:31girl being driven in a car it looked
13:34like she didn't want to be there some
13:36time went by Monica remained missing
13:39until her corpse was found she had been
13:43killed and dumped her murder remains
13:46unsolved to this day the Reta cops were
13:54nasty family they harbored a nasty
13:57dislike towards the indigenous people in
13:59the area I have no idea why they had
14:01such an issue with them but two brothers
14:04in the family had been on trial for
14:06homicide in connection to the deaths of
14:08two indigenous people both deaths
14:11occurred two years apart
14:12the first one had occurred in 74 one of
14:15the radical brothers had struck a young
14:17indigenous man with his truck and killed
14:19him but the focus here is the death of
14:2221 year old Colleen Thomas she was
14:25pregnant at the time and she was
14:27standing by the side of the road that
14:30road of course being highway 16 when
14:33Richard riddick up suddenly swerved his
14:35car rammed it right into young Corrine
14:37she died of her injuries and so did her
14:40baby Richard was led off they said it
14:44was an accident
14:45but the eyewitnesses at the time saw him
14:48swerve his car the killing of Corrine
14:50had clearly been intentional but the
14:53judge that handled the case had
14:55prejudice to a few years earlier he too
14:58had ran someone over in a drunken stupor
15:00he had been left off with a slap on the
15:02wrist but as soon as this dark secret
15:05came out the judge came public recanting
15:08his initial sentence of Richard Riddick
15:09up
15:10he proclaimed that the death had not
15:12been accidental however tortoise was
15:14never brought up again in 77 call
15:17Thomas's father demanded a new inquiry
15:19but that investigation too was shut down
15:22all that was left was prejudice
15:25corruption and a young woman just
15:27getting started with her life
15:29dead because of an angry hillbilly and
15:33so the blood sacrifice had been made the
15:35highway of tears had claimed another
15:36victim but the thirst for more will
15:40never disappear Mary Jane Hill another
15:46native Canadian woman was found dead
15:48stripped naked near the highway of tears
15:52in 78 she was 31 years old and left
15:55three children behind her life there is
15:57questions and there is answers first off
16:00the coroner decided that her cause of
16:03death had been bronchitis that the death
16:05had been natural causes but natural
16:09causes does not mean that a crime hasn't
16:11been committed I mean how the [ __ ] did
16:15she end up nude by the highway her
16:17daughter was only six months old when
16:20her mother died thinks someone left her
16:22there naked a week I agree with her I do
16:26believe someone attacked Mary Jane Hill
16:29that day I do believe they assaulted or
16:32attempted to assault her and then left
16:35her in the elements to die but sadly
16:37there has been very little investigation
16:39down into this cold case they stamped it
16:42as a natural cause of death and no one
16:44seems to want to see what had happened
16:46before her death what led up to that
16:49death and why she was found nude by the
16:51highway I smell foul play but as it
16:55looks now I don't think we'll ever truly
16:57find the answer Monica Jack was the
17:00youngest victim yet she was only 12 when
17:02she perished she was riding her bicycle
17:04with a friend it was like an adventure
17:07for her she was turning 13 in a few days
17:09so her father had given her money for
17:11shoes that's what she was doing that day
17:13she was riding her bike into town almost
17:1612 kilometers away after the adventure
17:19Monica parted ways with her friend and
17:21was not seen alive ever again
17:23she was gone for years her skeletal
17:26remains weren't found until 1996 someone
17:30had picked her up and murdered her but
17:33the murder of Monica Jack has a slightly
17:36happier ending
17:37her killer a man named Gary Hanlon was
17:40caught in an undercover investigation in
17:422014 and he would go on to admit to what
17:47he had done the family cheered as Gary
17:50Hanlon was found guilty for the murder
17:51of Monica Jack in 1978 so many years had
17:55gone by and finally there was some
17:58closure
17:59even though Monica Jack isn't coming
18:02back
18:05Maureen Massey was hitchhiking that
18:07spring day in 1981 a new decade had
18:11begun it was time for a fresh start as
18:14no one had died or gone missing along
18:16the highway of Tears for almost three
18:18years
18:19maybe the levees had been rebuilt sure
18:23just about every Highway in the world
18:25has seen some sort of death or missing
18:26people but what makes highway 16 so
18:30special is the sheer number the amount
18:32of victims marine Massey would be the
18:36first victim of 81 she was 33 years old
18:39a bit older than the other victims but
18:42as we find out as we travel down the
18:44timeline of death and tragedy that is
18:46highway 16 death and disappearances can
18:49strike anyone from the age of zero to
18:52the age of 89
18:53Maureen wasn't missing for long just a
18:56day later her body was found she had
18:59been assaulted and murdered then she had
19:02been left to the elements maybe one
19:04would be one of the bloodiest years yet
19:06with Maureen being the first of three
19:08murder victims but the difference is
19:11that Maureen's murder hasn't been solved
19:14it remains unsolved to this day
19:18Edward Dennis Isaac is one of those very
19:21obscure unknown serial killers I
19:25probably wouldn't even have known he
19:27existed if it wasn't for the highway of
19:29tears serial killers have contributed to
19:32multiple victims along the highway most
19:35famous is probably
19:36Cody leg Ibaka but he wasn't active
19:39until around 2010 in the early 80s
19:43Dennis Isaac made his entrance cementing
19:46his place in history as a part of the
19:49highway of tears his horse victim was
19:51Dean Mary Kovacs 36 years old she was
19:55falling the logging ditch naked she had
19:57been raped and shot in the head four
19:59times even though the first bullet had
20:02killed her then his eye sac apparently
20:05needed to be sure then came in November
20:08of 1981 row sweet the fukes bender was
20:11only 13 but then his eye sac had his
20:14eyes set on her she was found naked -
20:16her body had been slashed stabbed and
20:20mangled it was a horrible society - the
20:22responding officers a sight I'm sure
20:25will haunt them until the day they die

20:30ninamarie Joseph became Dennis Isaac's
20:33final victim the only casualty of 82 as
20:36far as the highway of tears goes she was
20:39only 15 she was found naked strangled
20:43with a string from her jacket
20:45then his Isaac appears to be a typical
20:47sexual sadist a man of the same caliber
20:50as Ted Bundy and Dennis Rader only no
20:53one really knows who he is he was
20:56arrested in 1986 as one of his former
20:58girlfriends who had helped him bury
21:00ninamarie Joseph's body came clean to
21:03police

21:06shall we bask you had turned 16 just a
21:09month earlier she was babysitting with
21:12her boyfriend that day when she called
21:14her mother she told her that she was
21:16coming home that she would be there in
21:1815 minutes
21:18she asked her mother if she could cook
21:21some pasta which apparently East noodles
21:25but of course tragedy would rear its
21:27ugly face again
21:28it lives in that Highway Shelly Baskin
21:33never came home
21:34she hasn't been seen since that day and
21:36no evidence or trace has ever been found
21:43six years had gone by the highway had
21:47become peaceful the cars whisked by and
21:50the seasons changed but it was a force
21:53it was the calm before the storm 1989
21:57was an explosion and it began in August
22:00of 89 an entire family of four the wife
22:04Doreen Jack 26 her husband also 26 and
22:09their two sons Russell nine years old
22:12and Ryan four years old
22:14all of them native Canadians they just
22:18vanished poof gone they were heading to
22:22a logging camp where they had been
22:23offered jobs and so of course that took
22:26them out on highway 16 but they just
22:29disappeared an entire family is still
22:34missing to this day no trace ever found
22:37who killed a birder Williams no one
22:42knows but he was 24 years old when she
22:45died the year was of course 1989 and
22:49Alberta had been out drinking in a bar
22:50she told her friends and family that she
22:53was going to an after-party but she
22:55disappeared for three days she was gone
22:57then an all-too-familiar sight was found
23:00the corpse of a young woman murdered in
23:04what is said to have been a horrible way
23:06her murder remains unsolved but a
23:10podcast missing and murdered Alberta
23:13Williams have uncovered new details that
23:15may help it finally be solved you should
23:19check that podcast out for more detailed
23:21accounts of the murder of Alberta
23:24Williams the disappearance of Cecilia
23:27and Nicole in 1989 is one of those cases
23:30that doesn't have much info to find her
23:34age is said to be unknown but I found
23:36two accounts that both say different
23:39ages one of them claims she was 15 when
23:42she went missing and one said that she
23:44was 18 when she went missing not much
23:47more is known it said that she was last
23:49seen by highway 16 in Smithers but
23:53police reported she went missing in
23:55Vancouver
23:56one thing is for sure though Cecilia and
23:59Michael did go missing in 1989 and no
24:04one ever saw her again in December of 89
24:07a man stumbled upon the human remains of
24:09money blanket 18 years old she had been
24:13gone for about two weeks but it seemed
24:15like they had finally found her her
24:18remains had been disturbed by scavenging
24:21animals in the two weeks she had been
24:22disposed but it was clearly a murder and
24:26it would take a while for the man
24:28responsible to be caught his name was
24:31Brian Peter ARP and he is responsible
24:34for two of the victims who lost their
24:36lives of highway of tears Marnie was the
24:40first victim and a woman named Teresa
24:42unfree would be his second victim four
24:44years later the sad thing though is that
24:47he could have been caught in 1990 as his
24:50DNA was found in connection to the death
24:53of mourning but the DNA technology was
24:57inferior back then and Brian are walked
24:59free only to kill again he was finally
25:04arrested after his second murder in 1993

25:11the first event to take place in 1990
25:15didn't occur on the highway but instead
25:18it took place inside a house that's at
25:21close to the highway
25:22it was the rockin family the mother
25:25Helga 45 years old
25:27sherry 26 years old Pauline 19 years old
25:30and the infant baby girl Kimberly just a
25:33few months old someone had tried to set
25:36the house on fire twice already in early
25:381990 but in February of that same year
25:41the arsonist finally got what he wanted
25:44the fire consumed all four members of
25:47the family it was a massacre a massacre
25:51that remains unsolved there was some
25:54hope of resurgence in the case as
25:56relatives received an anonymous letter
25:59talking about the fire but as far as I
26:02know it remains unsolved just like so
26:05many other murders along the highway of
26:07tears one thing about the 90s in general
26:11is that it is one of the most active
26:13decades in the highway of tears history
26:15the only other decade who rivaled that
26:18of the 90s is the one we live in now the
26:222010s
26:23you'd think the activity would decline
26:26as technology progressed and police got
26:28better at their jobs but it really
26:30hasn't there is more solved murders sure
26:34but there is also an increase in the
26:36overall activity delphine nichael was
26:39what feels like a typical victim of
26:41highway 16 she was only 15 years old
26:44hitchhiking her way from Smithers along
26:47the highway where she disappeared she's
26:49still missing to this day another one
26:51gone another one lost what adds even
26:54more tragedy to the disappearance is the
26:57fact that it was through fiends cousin
26:59Cecilia Nicole that had disappeared the
27:02year before the murder of Donna Charlie
27:0522 years old was brutal she went missing
27:08in August of 1990 and in 1991 her
27:13headless corpse was found buried in a
27:15shallow grave there is a pretty clear
27:18image of the man responsible Gerald's
27:20massless he was convicted for her murder
27:24but the conviction was later overturned
27:27however he still sits in prison for
27:29several other violent attacks against
27:32women but the murder of Donna seems to
27:35be the only murder he has committed you
27:38see in 2001
27:40Gerald held a woman captive inside a
27:42hotel room against her will
27:44she ran out for help but he had caught
27:47up with her forced her to walk back and
27:49began verbally and physically abusing
27:51her he held her there for four days not
27:55allowing her to wear anything but a bra
27:57and panties it wasn't until the hotel
27:59manager came to fix the sink that he
28:02found her all bruised her kidneys had
28:04been damaged from repeated punches and
28:07she had blood in her urine
28:08Gerald was a real piece of [ __ ]
28:15one murder occurred in 92 along the
28:17highway of tears it was in a household a
28:20husband and wife had been out drinking
28:22with another woman all night husband
28:25suggested that they had a threesome but
28:28he got furious when his wife refused the
28:32evening ended with a husband Wayne
28:34Sullivan shooting his wife Maureen
28:37Sullivan killing her Wayne got arrested
28:40he spent five years in jail and 97 he
28:43was freed it was argued that the alcohol
28:46he had consumed rendered him not
28:48responsible for his actions well maybe
28:53you shouldn't drink if you lose control
28:55to the extent that you commit murder

29:01Therese Humphrey was found nude in a
29:04snowbank in February of 93 she was
29:08partially frozen and she had been
29:09strangled manually and then strangled
29:12with a shoelace her killer
29:14Brian ARP probably tried to strangle her
29:17by hand but as many find out it's not
29:20easy to strangle someone with your hands
29:23this was Brian's second murder the first
29:26one was the previously described money
29:29blanket in 1989 94 was a year full of
29:36tragedy along the condemning highway of
29:38tears three teenage girls dead murdered
29:42the first one was Ramona Wilson 16 years
29:46old although she was first to die she
29:49was the last to be found
29:51she disappeared in June of 94 but her
29:54body wasn't found until April on 95 she
29:57had been hitchhiking but when she'd
29:59appear for work the next Monday her
30:01parents reported her missing her body
30:04was located by the Smithers Airport she
30:07was badly decomposed at that point and
30:10next to her body was a piece of rope
30:12nylon strings and belongings of Ramona
30:15found in a well placed pile next to her
30:17body her cause of death is to me unknown
30:21but her mother said that she believes a
30:24drunk driver had struck Ramona and in an
30:27effort to hide the ever
30:28he had dumped her body next to the
30:29airport one thing speaks against that
30:33the fact that two other young teenage
30:36girls would be found dead within a short
30:38period of time and sometime later a 19
30:42year old woman would go missing as well
30:43it said that Ramona was going to her
30:46boyfriend in Morris but she never
30:48reached his house her murder remains
30:52unsolved
30:53Roxanne t-ara was only 15 yet he had
30:57seen some of the worst life can throw at
30:58you she made her living through sex
31:01trafficking and on that July night
31:03Roxanne was going to see a client but of
31:06course she would never be seen alive
31:09again her parents didn't even know she
31:11was gone until someone found her body by
31:14burns lake along Highway 16 she had been
31:17laying there for a month the murder of
31:19Roxanne tiara 15 years old has never
31:23been solved Alecia Germain was similar
31:26to Roxanne she too was 15 years old and
31:30she too made her living through sex
31:32trafficking it was on December 9th that
31:35your main disappeared but one of the
31:38other victims remained missing for a
31:40while before the decomposing bodies were
31:42found
31:43Alecia Germain was found within hours of
31:46her murder she had been dumped next to
31:48an elementary school along highway 16
31:51that makes three victims in one year all
31:54three of them young teenage girls two of
31:57them live the high-risk lifestyle all
31:59three of them died in 1994
32:06Shelagh fake neck 125 years old and her
32:10three-year-old daughter Christina Quan
32:12were both found dead in an apartment
32:15along the highway of tears Sheila had
32:18been strangled and so had her three year
32:20old daughter that same day the body of
32:23Sheila's estranged husband and

32:55had been hitchhiking to her parents
32:57house but no one really knows there's no
33:01answers as to what happened to Lana
33:03Derek in October of 95 because no one
33:06has seen her since that day she's still
33:09missing Bonnie moolies abusive
33:14ex-husband had killer written all over
33:16it
33:16he was possessive abusive and mean he
33:19had been in jail before for choking
33:21Bonnie but on this day Bonnie Mooney was
33:24away home was Bonnie's 12 year old
33:27daughter and a woman named hazel white
33:30at some point Roland Cruz Kabbani
33:33ex-husband forced his way into the home
33:35that sat along the highway he had a
33:38sawed-off shotgun with him and fired at
33:40hazel white hazel died and the 12 year
33:45old daughter of Loony was wounded Roland
33:48then attempted to set the house on fire
33:49before blasting his brain away with his
33:52shotgun it was a tragedy a tragedy
33:56forgotten as time has passed it was the
34:00murder of hazel white in 96

34:06another year another mad husband Wendy
34:10Ann Rath was 44 when she disappeared it
34:13was in August of 97 and no one would
34:16ever find her body but in an undercover
34:18sting performed in 2008 her husband
34:21Dennis rat confessed to an undercover
34:23police officer that he had shot his wife
34:26and dumped her naked corpse in a wooded
34:29area somewhere he was charged with
34:31second degree murder he had showed the
34:34undercover cop the locations of both
34:36murder and dumping grounds he was caught
34:39he appealed his sentence in 2012 but it
34:43was denied when these corpse was never
34:46found
34:47but this is one of those rare cases
34:49where they didn't need a corpse to
34:53convict Christopher Alexander was drunk
34:59he wanted to rob somebody that night and
35:02finally found his way to the front door
35:04of Linda
35:05Geraldine lafrankie 36 years old the
35:09young man 17 years old put on a disguise
35:12and entered her home that sat along the
35:15highway with a hidden key Linda spotted
35:17the man and decided to flee
35:20aleksander wouldn't have none of that
35:21though he came to rob her but something
35:24snapped in his mind and suddenly he
35:27found himself on top of Linda Geraldine
35:29his hand was covered in the woman's
35:31blood the knife was dripping with a
35:34woman's life force she was dead already
35:37but the young man couldn't stop stabbing
35:40her by the time he was done he had
35:43stabbed her 38 times and so poor
35:47Geraldine lost her life to a desperate
35:51and stupid young man
35:56the tale of Amanda Jean Simpson four
35:58years old is a tragic and unnecessary
35:59one her stepfather was abusive to her
36:03into her sister her sister had even told
36:07a trusted adult that they needed help
36:09that their stepfather was beating them
36:11but help couldn't arrive quick enough
36:13little Amanda Jean was transferred to
36:16the Prince George Hospital on October 13
36:181999 and when she arrived they noted
36:22massive head injuries Amanda died only
36:25four years old and while her stepfather
36:29was held responsible he got off years
36:32later a coroner confirmed the fact that
36:35her death was a murder and I think we
36:38all know who was responsible for that
36:40sadly he hasn't been brought to justice
36:43beating a small child to death there is
36:47a cowardice to that type of killer that
36:49I absolutely despise he doesn't do it
36:54for some sort of brain abnormality like
36:57a sexually sadistic desire he does it
36:59because he is an angry man taking out
37:02his inner disappointment on to children
37:05that are named in his own he is just a
37:08piece of [ __ ]
37:10Monica McKay was the last victim of the
37:12millenia she fits the criteria perfectly
37:15for the highway of tears she was young
37:17only 18 and was slightly hitchhiking in
37:20December of 1999 she disappeared and
37:24wasn't found until January 8th of 2000
37:28they could decompose new body was found
37:30next to a dumpster
37:31her murder remains unsolved to this day
37:38a brand-new millenia a new beginning a
37:42fresh start to cleanse the filth and
37:44darkness that had sustained highway 16
37:47for over 30 years and the first murder
37:50of the new millennium wasn't like the
37:51typical highway of tears case it was a
37:54jealous ex-husband people saw Tracy
37:58Nadine Jack run across the parking lot
38:00her ex-husband Gordon wolf was chasing
38:03her with a gun he was shooting at her
38:05and trying to catch her if he couldn't
38:08have her then no one could eventually
38:11Tracy made her way into a Holly Davidson
38:14dealership but Gordon was right behind
38:16her he pushed her to the ground put a
38:19foot on her back to hold her down and
38:21shot her in the back of the head killing
38:24her instantly he then quickly aimed the
38:26gun at Tracy's new boyfriend and shot
38:29him in the stomach before being wrestled
38:31to the ground by employees and unlocker
38:33's Tracy's boyfriend survived the shot
38:36but it must have hurt
38:37I hear that being shot in the stomach is
38:39the worst it's the place on the body
38:41that hurts the most
38:43Gordon was charged for murder and
38:45attempted murder murders like these
38:48aren't that unusual they happen
38:50everywhere even in my little Swedish
38:52town where they're rallies more than one
38:55murder a year these cases may seem
38:57unconnected to the others the
38:59hitchhiker's and missing women but they
39:02are also a part of the history of the
39:04highway of tears they assist to
39:06highlight the bloodshed highway 16 has
39:09seen the curves of the asphalt now I
39:12don't believe in curses
39:14there is perfectly good explanations as
39:17to why highway 16 is such an attractive
39:20location for killers it's long stretch
39:23across landscapes landscapes covered in
39:26trees that stretches for miles and miles
39:28on end
39:29it offers cover privacy and good dumping
39:32grounds as there is plenty of scavengers
39:35but at the same time I feel like there
39:38should be other highways out there with
39:39the same conditions that doesn't have
39:41nearly as many cases in the last 50
39:44years now of course a highway that runs
39:47through Detroit for example would have a
39:50higher number of homicides but those are
39:53murders that are focused in one specific
39:56area that happens to sit along the
39:59highway these murders are spread along
40:03the highway making highway 16 the focal
40:06point
40:10savannah hall was only three years old
40:12it was said she was a violent sleeper it
40:15was also said she suffered from night
40:17terrors a horrifying condition it is the
40:20opposite of sleepwalking sleepwalking is
40:23when your body is active but your mind
40:25is asleep night terrors is when the mind
40:28is awake but your body is paralyzed in
40:30sleep in this state hallucinations occur
40:33you can see terrifying figures but you
40:36won't be able to move at all I imagine
40:39this would have been hard for a
40:40three-year-old to deal with but I don't
40:43understand how she was a violent sleeper
40:46and suffered from sleep paralysis at the
40:48same time regardless that seems to have
40:52been the doctors verdict Savannah was
40:55held in place with a leather harness in
40:57a crib where she slept she was placed
40:59facedown in the windowless basement crib
41:01and then left law
41:04but her death is complicated someone
41:07[ __ ] up her treatment was miscarried
41:09by both her caretakers and the doctors
41:11the coroner's inquest determined that
41:14Savannah's death was a homicide but it's
41:17very hard to find a scapegoat foster
41:19parents just did what the doctors told
41:21him but others said that Savannah was
41:24mistreated in the home I don't believe
41:26that foster parents was malicious
41:27towards her
41:29they had cared for many other foster
41:31children without any sort of emotional
41:33or physical abuse but who knows all I
41:38know is that the death of Susana was
41:40unnecessary really unnecessary 41
41:44year-old mother of two a d'Alene Brown
41:46was found dead in a hotel room in April
41:492001 the coroner determined a subdural
41:52hemorrhage and complications from
41:55alcoholism was responsible for her
41:56demise a tragic death but there are some
42:00oddities there too ada had suffered
42:03abuse from someone before she died and
42:06she had two black eyes her death is
42:08undetermined but her relatives doesn't
42:11believe that her death was a tragic
42:13misfortune her body shutting down ADA
42:16had told the doctor that another female
42:19had beaten her five days prior to her
42:21death something that may explain the
42:24black eyes and bruises if there is any
42:27case on this long extensive list of
42:30deaths and abductions that could be
42:32chalked up to natural causes I believe
42:35this one is it but her death is
42:38undetermined really so who knows

42:472002 arrested for the second-degree
42:50murder of his wife Leah Faulkner Leah
42:53Faulkner had been found at a campsite
42:55and something wasn't right
42:58she had choked on her own vomit but that
43:01wasn't the only thing she was blue
43:03around the neck someone had choked her
43:06it turns out Tyler had choked Leah 21
43:09years old
43:10I told she passed out suddenly she began
43:14to vomit
43:14and as a result choked on that vomit I
43:18do believe the purpose of the
43:20asphyxiation in the first place was to
43:22kill but as I have learned and as you
43:25probably has learned to it is very hard
43:28manually choke someone to death like the
43:30BTK killer did as he choked two members
43:33of the Otero family believed them to be
43:36dead only for them to wake up but Tyler
43:39got what he wanted and he is without a
43:41doubt Leah Murray Faulkner's killer her
43:4515 months old son was left behind to
43:48live life without his mother
43:50Nicole Hart 25 years old was a tree
43:53planter
43:54she was an outdoorsy person happy and
43:57kind-hearted in June of 2002 her friend
44:00dropped her off at a service station
44:02along Highway 16 where she would
44:04hitchhike but like so many others Nicole
44:07disappeared and hasn't been seen ever
44:10since the police searched extensively
44:12but no trace or sever found another
44:15victim of the highway of tears another
44:18missing woman probably picked up an
44:20unknown killer

44:23the death of Kayla Rose McKay 13 years
44:27old or some other sights suggested 15
44:29years old is tight-lipped
44:31she was found closest on railway tracks
44:33dead in April 2004 but the coroner ruled
44:37out suicide or homicide but at the same
44:40time did not rule out foul play two
44:44conflicting statements I don't know what
44:47happened to poor Kayla her death is a
44:49mystery to me just as much as it is to
44:53you sadly in July of 2004 71 year-old
44:58Helena Jack's body was found inside her
45:00garage sitting next to highway 16
45:04someone had beaten her badly and set her
45:06corpse on fire Clues led officers to
45:09tell room where a man named Vincent Jack
45:12was arrested he is now serving life
45:14imprisonment I don't know whether the
45:16murder was sexual or personal I don't
45:19know if Vincent knew Helena before
45:21killing her but the murder displays a
45:23disturbing amount of rage sadism or
45:26maybe he thought he was practical when
45:28he burned the body maybe he was just
45:31trying to get rid of evidence he may
45:33have left on the body I don't know his
45:35motivations but I do know that he's a
45:38killer a killer that abused and burned
45:41an old lady in her own garage the murder
45:44of Barbara Joseph is hidden in shadows
45:46all I know is that the 40 old one
45:49disappeared on September 4th 2004 and
45:51her body was found the next day her
45:55throat had been slashed the trail led
45:57investigators to Barbara's own cousin
45:59Winchester Thomas was arrested and
46:02charged with the murder just like with
46:04Helena I can only speculate in Thomas
46:07motivations they clearly knew each other
46:10Ness they were cousins
46:11so this murder may have been because of
46:13a personal grief but all he did was
46:15slash her throat he displays a certain
46:17amount of calmness about the whole thing
46:19it wouldn't seem like he was driven
46:22purely by rage but there may be details
46:25I don't know about as well it would be
46:27like saying that Nicole Brown Simpson
46:30died from having her throat slashed I'm
46:33technically correct
46:35but in reality her head had almost been
46:38cut off it was a rage-fueled throat
46:40slashing this missing-persons case is
46:43one I don't believe involved any foul
46:45play it's Margaret musky 89 years old
46:49who went missing in October 2004 she
46:52suffered from dementia and was out in
46:54the woods a recipe for disaster
46:56margaret was never found so no one knows
46:59whether she met her demise at the hands
47:00of another or not but regarding her
47:03state of mind and her physical
47:05limitations accidents could easily have
47:09occurred Melanie don't Brown was found
47:12dead in a Prince George basement sitting
47:14close to highway 16 in December of 2004
47:16her cause of death was a gunshot to the
47:19head but justice had to wait for her why
47:22because the Serious Crime Unit had to
47:25focus on a cannabis growing operation
47:27organized crime it may have added to the
47:30case going cold because no one has been
47:33caught and no one talks about Melanie 31
47:36years old anymore she say forgotten
47:40victim a murder victim who never found
47:43justice the disappearance of Mary bliss
47:48like many other cases clubbin there is
47:51very little information to be found
47:53about Mary the like her age I would
47:55guess she was in her late 40s or early
47:5850s but that's just a guess Mary had
48:02been walking to the local mall when she
48:03disappeared
48:04she suffered from depression and amnesia
48:06so her disappearance may be
48:08self-inflicted or accidental but as she
48:12remains missing to this day it is
48:13impossible to say what happened to Mary
48:15why did she disappear
48:17I don't think Mary's disappearance was a
48:20result of foul play the disappearance of
48:23Tamara Chipman 22 years old in many ways
48:26reminds of the disappearances in the 70s
48:2880s and 90s she was a happy outdoorsy
48:32person she was the mother of a young son
48:34but she disappeared in September of 2005
48:37she had been hitchhiking along the
48:39highway of tears never to be seen again
48:42the new millenia had introduced many
48:45different types of deaths murders and
48:47disappearances
48:49but this one was a reflection of the
48:51classics a reflection of the cases that
48:55gave the highway of tears its infamous
48:58status Candis coma cough had been
49:03celebrating the New Year's Eve with a
49:04friend that night by the time 2006 had
49:08begun Candis 20 years old
49:10her friend and 19 years old Vernon
49:12Wilson made their way back to Kenny's
49:14apartment they were all intoxicated and
49:17eventually her friend left Berlin and
49:20Candice began kissing when Candace
49:22turned away this field Vernon with an
49:25uncontrollable rage he began strangling
49:28the young woman he wouldn't stop until
49:31she was dead what a way to start a new
49:35year right out of the gate 2006 would
49:39put its own mark in history a yella al
49:42girl was only 14 she was going to a
49:45sleepover that night but something
49:46happened
49:47security cameras had caught her walking
49:49towards her home at 1:00 a.m. but that
49:52was the last time she was seen alive
49:54from the eyes of a lens eight days after

50:03the highway that would be highway 16 of
50:06course the murder of 14 years old.i
50:10yella remains unsolved she and her
50:12family still awaits justice for what was
50:15done to their young daughter Stephanie
50:17joy Donnelly was only 16 when her father
50:20slept believe that divine force was
50:23telling him to murder his wife but as
50:26his wife was away he instead stabbed his
50:28own teenage daughter three times in the
50:31heart and then slash her throat he was
50:35deemed not guilty by reason of mental
50:37disorder and in 2009 he was allowed
50:40permissions to be out 28 days at a time
50:44of course during one of these
50:46permissions he stabbed someone else
50:48frenemies thankfully this time he was
50:52held criminally responsible kept away
50:54from the streets
50:55I understand mental disorders is
50:58something we can't control but if
51:00someone has a mental disorder
51:02that makes them dangerous they should be
51:04kept off the street for the safety of
51:06the rest of us
51:08whoever allowed him to have these free
51:10rooms should be held responsible for the
51:13second stabbing it's so unnecessary
51:18Beverly Warbeck a blonde woman in her
51:21late 30s from missing in 2007 that's
51:24about all the information about her is
51:26kind of sad how little there is she
51:29deserves more attention or will never
51:32find out what happened to Beverly the
51:35disappearance of Bonnie Murray Joseph
51:37reeks of foul play she was 32 years old
51:40she had five children I was in the
51:42middle of a string of court dates to get
51:44her kids back from the government she
51:46hitchhiked a lot and that's what she did
51:48in the fall of 2007 she was going to one
51:51of the court dates she hadn't missed a
51:53single one and of course like she
51:55usually did she hitchhiked alone but she
51:58was never seen again she never turned up
52:00at court and some time later her wallet
52:02an idea was found near a lake the wallet
52:06contained an uncashed check I believe
52:08something happened to Bonnie that day 12
52:10years ago but without a body it's almost
52:12impossible to determine what happened in
52:14such a long time has passed since then
52:16it wouldn't be much of a body left to
52:19discover sadly we are going to stray
52:28from the beaten path a little bit in
52:30this segment because as far as serial
52:33killers go Cody lega bakov is
52:36undoubtedly the most high-profile along
52:39the highway of tears
52:41Cody was only 19 years old when he began
52:44his serial killings his focal point was
52:47highway 16 that's where he would operate
52:50his first victim was 35 year old Jill's
52:54two chenko a mother of five who
52:56seemingly disappeared in October of 2009
52:59but she was found dead four days later
53:02partially nude in a gravel pit her
53:05killer had sexually assaulted Jill
53:07before hitting her in the head with a
53:09blunt object several times
53:12Jill had been involved in the six trade
53:14a rough way to make a living it's rare
53:19that serial killers begin as early as
53:22nineteen imeem we have the infamous
53:24child serial killer Mary Belle
53:27but she's without a doubt very rare
53:30exception
53:32Natasha Lee Montgomery Dean number two
53:34for Cody Cooper years old also involved
53:37in the sex trade her body has never been
53:40located
53:41but Rebecca Lowe's in his apartment and
53:44on an axiom because no body ever was
53:47found her cause of death
53:48technically remains unknown but since
53:52Cody's another one of those sexually
53:54driven killers I think it's safe to say
53:56he would have assaulted her sexually as
53:59well
53:59Cody was stepping his activities up a
54:02notch
54:02his first victim had been in October of
54:05online a second victim Natasha
54:07disappeared in August of 2010 and his
54:11third victim
54:12Cynthia masse went missing in September
54:14of 2010 body wasn't found until October
54:19the previous victims mass was said to
54:22have been involved in the sixth raid she
54:24was 35 he snuffed her light out
54:27she had defensive wounds over her arms
54:29and hands she had been struggling with
54:32him fighting back but in the end cody
54:35won the fight he stabbed Cynthia in the
54:38chest a couple of times
54:39before hitting her in the head with a
54:41blunt object she was found dead her
54:43parents had been pulled down to her
54:45ankles in November of 2010 a patrol
54:49officer pulled Cody's car over he had
54:52been seen coming out of an unused
54:54logging wood the officer suspected
54:56poaching what he found was a lot worse
55:00Cody was covered in blood when asked why
55:03he said he had been clubbing a deer to
55:05death his reasoning was that he was a
55:08redneck and that's just what they did of
55:12course the police didn't buy it it's the
55:14dumbest excuse I've heard the officer
55:17won't have to investigate the area Cody
55:19had come from and that's when he found
55:2115 years old
55:23Loren Leslie's dead body there was
55:25no excuses no talking his way out of
55:28this one he had been caught red-handed
55:29as they say and in this case the phrase
55:33was pretty literal he had met Lauren
55:35online he had talked to her convinced
55:38her to meet him only to make her his
55:40last victim Cody is still in jail
55:43forever a part of the history Highway 60

55:52girl drowned close to the highway of
55:54tears her name was Emily Rose McLean she
55:58had been hanging out with some people
55:59that April night in 2010 yet her death
56:03hasn't been classified as a homicide but
56:07it hasn't been determined as accidental
56:10either they simply don't know because
56:13drowning is one of those things that can
56:16be a result of both was Emily murdered I
56:19don't know what I do know is that she
56:22represented the highway of tears locking
56:25in sight unto a new generation of
56:27victims Cassady trolly 17 years old died
56:34in January of 2011 her death is very
56:38unclear her mother had told responding
56:40officers on the phone that half her face
56:42was burned that her hair was burned off
56:44and that her phone was missing the
56:47police considered the girl's death as a
56:50homicide and it has been said that a 17
56:53year old boy who knew Cassady was
56:55arrested and charged with second-degree
56:57murder I'm not sure about the arrest
57:01part I could not verify that although it
57:04doesn't exactly sound far-fetched
57:06Madison Scott 29 years old the friend
57:09that night they were going to sleep
57:11outside they'll go to a party they had
57:14brought sleeping bags in a tent they had
57:16liquor and other things to occupy their
57:18time with out there but Madison's friend
57:20met a young man at the party whom she
57:23decided she wanted to leave with but
57:25Madison had already settled her sleeping
57:27bag in tent so she said that she would
57:30stay there the next day some partygoers
57:33went to clean the camp up Madison wasn't
57:35there was gone as I said there had been
57:37a party
57:39Madison had not been alone out there
57:40with her friend the last time anyone saw
57:44her live though was between 2:30 a.m.
57:46and 3:00 a.m. that night that's was gone
57:50her truck was still there many valuable
57:54items were still inside the truck
57:56but her iPhone 5 was missing a drunk
57:59party out in the campsite surrounded by
58:02nature woods natural cover it almost
58:05seems inevitable now Madison has never
58:08been found but I would be willing to bet
58:10money that someone attending the party
58:13was responsible for her disappearance
58:15someone who had been hitting on her
58:17throughout the night someone she may
58:18have blown off
58:19I don't know and obviously I'm not an
58:22expert but I still like to share my
58:25thoughts on these things I say foul play
58:28and I think unless she was transported
58:31out of the area that her body may still
58:34be in the vicinity but eight years has
58:37gone by now but they're still looking at
58:39least the Scott family still wants to
58:42find their little girl to them there has
58:46been absolutely no closure
58:48Maria rego and have been attacked by a
58:51young man it was October of 2011 and
58:54this young man had broken into their
58:56home and began beating them assaulting
58:59them maria was 47 years old
59:02sadly she did not survive the injuries
59:05her attacker had cost her but her
59:09husband did pulled through he survived
59:11and a 19 year old man was arrested for
59:14the sudden bursts of violence and
59:15tragedy he had cost April rose Johnson
59:22had just married her new husband and
59:23they were visiting friends on some
59:25mobile home on the outskirts of
59:27Vanderhoof an emergency call was made
59:30apparently her newlywed had
59:33quote-unquote dropped the rifle on a
59:35counter causing the rifle to just go off
59:38hitting April in the abdomen an expert
59:42testified at the trial that the rifle
59:44wasn't prone to going off like that
59:46but it wasn't until 2015 that her
59:49husband was arrested not for murder
59:51which it was but for misuse of a firearm
59:54her husband had began dating a new woman
59:57very shortly after his young wife had

1:00:04I believe could be considered motivation
1:00:09Tara Lee Williams and her husband Blaine
1:00:12was found dead in their home On January
1:00:1413 2013 Tara Leo's 40 years old and the
1:00:19double murder that occurred that day
1:00:21remains unsolved police were looking for
1:00:24suspects with defensive wounds on hands
1:00:26norms but nothing ever came out of it
1:00:29since this is a fairly recent murder
1:00:32since its unsolved information about how
1:00:35these two people died is unavailable at
1:00:38least to me
1:00:38although defensive wounds wouldn't
1:00:42exactly suggest a gun was used and the
1:00:45reason for the defensive wounds would
1:00:47probably be because skin and blood was
1:00:50found under the victims fingernails
1:00:52suggesting a more physical altercation
1:00:55my bet would be blunt force trauma
1:00:58strangling or maybe a stabbing destiny
1:01:02ray Tom 21 years old had been abused by
1:01:04her boyfriend well that day he had
1:01:06beaten her so badly that she would die
1:01:09destiny left a young daughter behind her
1:01:11just a tragedy another unnecessary
1:01:13[ __ ] murder my Collette basil was 26
1:01:17when she disappeared in the summer of
1:01:192013 she had been at a house party and
1:01:22was leaving with her cousin and another
1:01:24man in a truck to go to a cabin the
1:01:28truck got stuck an immaculate decided to
1:01:30walk the rest of the way she hasn't been
1:01:34seen since now the part about the truck
1:01:38may or may not be true as this version
1:01:42is from the two men themselves I think
1:01:46they may know more than they're letting
1:01:47on if you know what I mean
1:01:51I need a thorn 49 years old went missing
1:01:56in November of 2014 her disappearance is
1:02:00pretty odd her car was found by the side
1:02:03of the road empty why would she just
1:02:07have left it there did she leave on her
1:02:09own accord did she stop to help someone
1:02:12in need according to those that knew her
1:02:14she never turned down helping someone is
1:02:18that what happened to thorn I don't know
1:02:21obviously if I did I'd be a suspect but
1:02:24I think that this was foul play I'm not
1:02:27sure although this this is a rough one

1:02:37of 2017 the police say that she was
1:02:41murdered even though her body hasn't
1:02:43been found and no one has been arrested
1:02:46what we do know is that her supposed
1:02:49killer had been using her car for some
1:02:51time Marie also had her small dog with
1:02:54her and the dog was found at the same
1:02:58time as they found her car I would guess
1:03:01the dog was dead but that would just be
1:03:04a guest on my part and I've already done
1:03:06a lot of that Roberta is still missing
1:03:09she was 55 when she disappeared just two
1:03:13years ago that same year Frances brown
1:03:1753 years old
1:03:19also went missing she was out picking
1:03:21mushrooms in Smithers when she vanished
1:03:23she was an experienced hiker but
1:03:27accidents do happen there may be a
1:03:29connection here two women both in their
1:03:32early to mid 50s missing in the same
1:03:35year I mean if we draw connections
1:03:38between young women murdered and missing
1:03:40within the same year around the same age
1:03:42there were may have a similar thing
1:03:45happening here but no evidence of that
1:03:48has ever turned up and no bodies from
1:03:50neither of the two missing women ever
1:03:52turn
1:03:55we're almost there were almost at the
1:03:59finish line
1:03:59now 2018 is last year but it was also a
1:04:04pretty active year as far as tragedy and
1:04:08the highway of tears goes
1:04:10Chantal Simpson 34 years old had gone
1:04:13missing in July of 2018 walnut posters
1:04:16were put up and eventually her car was
1:04:19found abandoned in a gravel pit and
1:04:21eventually her body was found - it was
1:04:25fished out of Skeena River two weeks
1:04:28after her disappearance her cause of
1:04:30death has not been made public I don't
1:04:33believe that would be the case if it was
1:04:35accidental I may be wrong on that though
1:04:37or maybe they're just not sure they had
1:04:41to identify Chantal by looking at her
1:04:44tattoos she had been in the water for a
1:04:47while abandoned car in a gravel pit
1:04:50makes me think something bad and
1:04:52intentional happened but she may have
1:04:56had an accident regardless of what I
1:04:58think though her cause of death is
1:05:01officially unknown Jessica Patrick 18
1:05:04years old disappeared a little more than
1:05:06a year ago today it was in September of
1:05:092018 that she was last seen alive eating
1:05:13at McDonald's she was missing for the
1:05:15while they looked for her intensely and
1:05:18finally about ten days after her
1:05:21disappearance a set of human remains
1:05:23were found by a mountain road thrown
1:05:27down a steep hill
1:05:28Jessica Patrick was murdered by someone
1:05:32last year but no one has been caught yet
1:05:35hopefully she will not become one of the
1:05:38unsolved ones the case is fairly recent
1:05:41so there may still be hope
1:05:44Cynthia Martin 50 years old disappeared
1:05:48later that year she went missing in
1:05:50December of 2018 and her family
1:05:52considers her disappearance to be out of
1:05:54place now maybe this is just me but I
1:05:59can't help but notice that three women
1:06:03between 50 and 55 years old went missing
1:06:06between 2017
1:06:08at 2018 of course missing does not mean
1:06:12murdered but at least one of those three
1:06:15disappearances have been classified by
1:06:18police as a homicide earlier this year a
1:06:25July to be precise
1:06:2623 year old Lukas Fowler an Austrian
1:06:29tourist and his American girlfriend
1:06:32Chyna DS 24 years old were murdered on
1:06:35the highway of tears they had been seen
1:06:38arguing with a bearded man before their
1:06:40death but whether he was involved with
1:06:43the murders is unknown double murders
1:06:46occurring on the highway aren't very
1:06:48usual but I guess that is what 2019 will
1:06:53leave behind their injuries were so
1:06:56severe so horribly mutilated that he
1:07:00took authorities a while to actually
1:07:01identify them not much more is known all
1:07:05that is known is that there is someone
1:07:07on the loose someone capable of
1:07:11murdering a young couple in what is said
1:07:13to have been a horrible way I can say
1:07:17this for 50 years the highway of tears
1:07:20has been a breeding ground for tragedy
1:07:23it wasn't something that went on in just
1:07:26the 70s or 80s it wasn't just a
1:07:29hitchhikers stranger-danger type of a
1:07:31thing it's more complicated than that
1:07:33and trust me when I tell you the tragedy
1:07:37isn't going to stop it may lay inactive
1:07:40a few years at a time but it always
1:07:43comes back that just seems to be the
1:07:46nature of highway 16 the nature of the
1:07:50highway of tears
