2. 0:031975 in Essex England at one year old he
3. 0:07moved with his family to East London
4. 0:09where his parents still live Port was
5. 0:11described as a loner and quiet and he
6. 0:14was often bullied at school
7. 0:16After High School Port attended art
8. 0:18college but dropped out due to costs and
9. 0:20instead trained to be a chef as an adult
10. 0:23he has been described as having a
11. 0:25childlike personality by his neighbor
12. 0:27because he would play with children's
13. 0:28toys his ex-girlfriend would likely
14. 0:31agree with this description of Port as
15. 0:33she broke up with him because of his
16. 0:34childish personality while an unusual
17. 0:37personality is never the cause of
18. 0:39someone's crimes ports a typical Persona
19. 0:41complements his shocking list of crimes
20. 0:43Port is currently serving a life
21. 0:46sentence after being convicted of four
22. 0:48counts of murder 10 charges of
23. 0:50administering poison seven charges of
24. 0:53rape and four accounts of sexual assault
25. 0:55these are his victims
26. 0:57there are many questions about the
27. 0:59police investigation that led to his
28. 1:01indictment and we will examine these in
29. 1:03detail later on in short a BBC
30. 1:05documentary has described the
31. 1:07investigation as a catalog of police
32. 1:09failings for example the police failed
33. 1:12to link the deaths of port's victims
34. 1:14even though their bodies were all
35. 1:16located in the same place and even
36. 1:18though there were obvious signs of date
37. 1:21rape drug use these were ignored for far
38. 1:24too long by the police
39. 1:25the interrogation of Stephen Port May
40. 1:28provide some insight into the mind of
41. 1:30someone heinous enough to commit these
42. 1:32Unthinkable crimes
43. 1:38so did you have any involvement in the

267. 14:16proceedings his unrelenting claims of
268. 14:18Innocence would be fruitless in the end
269. 14:20as he was found guilty on all counts and
270. 14:22sentenced to life in prison now let's go
271. 14:25through some of the questions revolving
272. 14:27around the police interrogation one
273. 14:30crucial Witnesses were not questioned
274. 14:32port's neighbor saw port in a dazed
275. 14:35state with a large container full of
276. 14:37white powder and bottles of clear liquid
277. 14:40and received suspicious texts from Port
278. 14:42regarding one of the victims two police
279. 14:46failed to link the cases even though the
280. 14:48cause of death was identical and the
281. 14:51location of each body nearly the same
282. 14:53for port's first two victims
283. 14:55investigators did not link the deaths
284. 14:57and failed to identify the suspicious
285. 14:59connection between the bodies until all
286. 15:02four men were dead
287. 15:033. police LED families to believe their
288. 15:06sons overdosed on drugs the drugs found
289. 15:09in the systems of port's victims were
290. 15:11date drugs these are not drugs that are
291. 15:13self-administered for this reason it is
292. 15:16unlikely bordering impossible that the
293. 15:18boys would overdose
294. 15:20in the end do you think Stephen's
