- 0:00All praise belongs to Allah. He is the
- 0:01Lord of the world
- 0:04of every single world known to man and
- 0:06that which is unknown. He has no
- 0:08partner. He is one. And we uh send our
- 0:11praise to Allah subhana wa tala. And we
- 0:13are grateful to come together on this
- 0:15blessed and beautiful day in remembrance
- 0:17of Allah subhana wa ta'ala and
- 0:19fulfilling the command that he has told
- 0:20us specifically as men to come for the
- 0:23reminder so that you may be benefited
- 0:25and then go back out into the world and
- 0:27implement those teachings into your
- 0:29life. So this is a this is a blessing
- 0:32from Allah subhana wa ta'ala upon us to
- 0:34be able to come to
- 0:36receive a reminder and inshallah it's a
- 0:38beneficial one.
- 0:49Allah tells us, "Dear brothers and
- 0:51sisters, in the glorious Quran, all of
- 0:53you Muslims who claim to believe, all of
- 0:56you Muslims who claim that you submit
- 0:59yourselves to me, then grant me my
- 1:01right." Grant me my rights, which means
- 1:04to obey what it is that I have commanded
- 1:07you to do and stay away from that in
- 1:09which I have prohibited you from. And he
- 1:12also says, "Do not die except for in
- 1:15that state. No other state other than
- 1:18that one which is submission to Allah."
- 1:20And that is what a true Muslim is. Allah
- 1:23also says in his glorious Quran, "All of
- 1:25you Muslims who claim to believe, grant
- 1:28me my rights." in which we just
- 1:29mentioned from the verse before and then
- 1:31do this two actions.
- 1:34Say words that are good that hit the
- 1:37mark. Why is that? Because when you say
- 1:39good words, it will have an impact on
- 1:42your heart. And your heart is the one
- 1:44that delegates everything else of what
- 1:46the rest of your body does. So when you
- 1:48say good words, goodness will come on
- 1:50the inside of you and therefore it'll
- 1:52affect your heart and then your limbs.
- 1:54Cuz the next what Allah what next what
- 1:56Allah says? He says, "Then do good
- 1:58deeds, do righteous deeds." And when you
- 2:01do this formula, when you put this
- 2:03formula together, Allah subhana wa
- 2:05ta'ala will forgive you and I of
- 2:07everything that we've ever done. That's
- 2:09the formula of how we've really achieved
- 2:12true success within this world. And
- 2:14Allah says, "Whoever obeys him,
- 2:17Allah and his messenger Muhammad
- 2:19sallallahu alaihi wasallam,
- 2:22obeyance, obedience of Allah and his
- 2:24messenger sallallahu alaihi wasallam."
- 2:26Then you have won.
- 2:28That means that you have won the
- 2:30ultimate victory, the most grand victory
- 2:32of any victories that you have ever
- 2:34witnessed in your life, which is to
- 2:36receive the pleasure of Allah subhana wa
- 2:38ta'ala. And for him to be pleased with
- 2:40you in
- 2:42with all of the righteous, with all of
- 2:44your loved ones, to never die, to never
- 2:47have to have any more obligations, but
- 2:49to have pure bliss in with Sallallahu
- 2:53Alaihi Wasallam and all of our loved
- 2:55ones. Say, may Allah subhanaa tala grant
- 2:57this to us. Dear brothers and sisters, I
- 3:00had to tell you today, mashallah,
- 3:02usually when I have a little bit of time
- 3:05because I haven't been in school
- 3:07teaching the youth, I've had a little
- 3:09bit of a break. And what I like to do is
- 3:12really zone in and focus on a specific
- 3:14subject. And regarding this subject,
- 3:18I've come across many different thoughts
- 3:20and my heart has just been expelling so
- 3:24much regarding it and my mind has been
- 3:27shifting on many topics of how to do
- 3:29this and speak to this uh uh this this
- 3:32this uh topic and how can I actually
- 3:35convey to you in such a short time. And
- 3:37because we don't I'mma do my because we
- 3:40don't have a lot of time. I'm gonna do
- 3:41my best to condense what it is that I'm
- 3:43feeling in my heart to give that to you
- 3:45and be isn't that you'll receive that
- 3:47with honor and beauty and want to do
- 3:49something to implement change within
- 3:51your lives and the change of the youth.
- 3:55Right now my focus is on the youth and I
- 3:58also want the parents to listen up
- 4:00because we were once them right and how
- 4:04is it that we can inculcate a beautiful
- 4:06relationship with the youth our children
- 4:09but the first thing for us to do is to
- 4:11understand that they are human beings
- 4:14and me speaking right now directly to
- 4:16the youth there's a way that you must be
- 4:20within this life firstly to set the
- 4:23standard brothers Brothers and sisters,
- 4:25we must understand the climate in which
- 4:28our young people are living in right
- 4:30right now and what are they subjected
- 4:32to. Sometimes as parents, we look at
- 4:36them and we think that their generation
- 4:38is extremely weak. We think that they
- 4:41are nonsensible.
- 4:43So we lower who they are and we feel
- 4:45like because of the things that we went
- 4:47through in our lives and because they
- 4:48didn't experience the same experiences
- 4:50as us, then that means that they are
- 4:52deficient.
- 4:53But you and I need to understand that
- 4:55they are going up against something that
- 4:57is much more stronger than what you and
- 4:59I were able to witness in our youth. And
- 5:02take it from me, a brother who was right
- 5:04in between you all. I'm a young parent
- 5:08and I'm about 15 to 16 17 years right
- 5:11above your children as well. So I'm
- 5:14right in the middle and I would really
- 5:15appreciate if Allah subhana ta grants me
- 5:17the ti to grant you uh to give you a
- 5:19story that will embive love and
- 5:21inculcation inside of your heart of
- 5:24implementing
- 5:26uprightness into your life. And so for
- 5:28the youth I'm speaking directly to you
- 5:30right now to the young men in here and
- 5:32to the young women. Allah tells us in
- 5:35his glorious Quran a chapter in which we
- 5:38should re be reciting at least every
- 5:39single Friday. just for your information
- 5:42that you will have protection from and
- 5:45any of the uh insinuations that he has
- 5:49and that he tries to oppose upon the
- 5:51believing people right and that's re
- 5:53reciting
- 5:55and what can we take from that I want to
- 5:57express a little bit from
- 6:00the people or the youth of the cave
- 6:07Allah tells us in the glorious Quran
- 6:33is fit.
- 6:51young people
- 6:53before I translate what these verses
- 6:55mean.
- 6:57parents to understand
- 6:59your youth are faced with many things in
- 7:02this society that tries to pull their
- 7:04attention away from the remembrance of
- 7:06Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
- 7:09The youth are in a position and where
- 7:12they are very impressionable
- 7:14and when they see goodness and truth
- 7:17meaning al Islam that is what they want
- 7:20to actually implement into their lives
- 7:22but they also have the side of where the
- 7:25shaitan tries to work hard and enamor
- 7:28them with the things in which that they
- 7:29love from the dunyas aspect
- 7:32and this is one of the first things like
- 7:34advertisements and if you and I
- 7:36understand what was the fall of our
- 7:38father Adam and his wife Haha, may Allah
- 7:42be pleased with them both. It was
- 7:45advertising.
- 7:46The shaitan said to Adam and Hah when
- 7:51Allah subhana wa ta'ala tells them to
- 7:52not come near this tree lest you be
- 7:55amongst the wrongdoers. They were
- 7:57tricked and yes they were lied to by the
- 7:59shaitan but nonetheless their desires
- 8:01were appealed to because he made up a
- 8:03lie to them telling them about some
- 8:05benefit that will come to them and that
- 8:07Allah will eventually have them pass
- 8:09away. But the first thing is an
- 8:12advertisement and this is the first way
- 8:14that the youth especially are called
- 8:17towards to start going towards the
- 8:19things in the world that we want to
- 8:20prevent them from going into youth. You
- 8:24have to be aware of your enemy. You have
- 8:27to be aware at what is calling you. You
- 8:29have to understand just because you are
- 8:31being raised up in a certain environment
- 8:34does not mean that that foundation in
- 8:36which you have been raised upon and what
- 8:37you've always seen in your life is what
- 8:39truth is. And this is generally why the
- 8:43youth go against or have issues with
- 8:45what Allah subhana wa ta'ala commands us
- 8:48to do within the glorious Quran because
- 8:50we seen more of what culture and society
- 8:53says and therefore we want to follow
- 8:55that because it entices the nef the ego.
- 8:59So translating these verses, Allah
- 9:02subhana wa ta'ala, he speaks to the
- 9:04prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam and
- 9:05the believers in general and he says,
- 9:08"Oh Muhammad, oh Muslims, do you think
- 9:11that the story of those youths of the
- 9:14cave and the inscriptions were just
- 9:16among our wondrous signs? Do you think
- 9:19this was something that was just relayed
- 9:21to you just because it was some uh not
- 9:25only just some miracle but just some
- 9:26random event that happened? youth. No,
- 9:30Allah subhana wa ta'ala will bless you
- 9:32and take care of you if you are dutiful
- 9:34to him within your youth. Meaning if you
- 9:37are upright, if you don't follow the
- 9:39crowd and what it is that they call you
- 9:41to, although this world is very
- 9:43enticing, you being one who is firm on
- 9:46your fithra and when your insides tell
- 9:49you, you know what, I probably shouldn't
- 9:51be doing this act. And although all of
- 9:54my friends or the people at my school
- 9:55may be going with a certain type of way
- 9:57and tradition, I something in me is
- 9:59telling me that this thing is wrong.
- 10:01Allah has given you that inside of
- 10:03yourself to be able to protect yourself
- 10:05and to stay within his fle so that he
- 10:07will grant you his protection and his
- 10:09blessings and increase you in honor and
- 10:11rank towards him.
- 10:13But it's what happens is when we succumb
- 10:16to that and we follow the peer pressure
- 10:18of society and what it is that they say
- 10:20and they call us towards that's when we
- 10:22start to go wrong
- 10:24and that's when we start to have this
- 10:26distant relationship with Islam because
- 10:28we want to do so bad what the rest of
- 10:30the world is calling us to. So what did
- 10:32these young people do to set the
- 10:35foundation of what it was? They lived in
- 10:38a society where they were told that you
- 10:40must do idol worship. So the all of
- 10:44society is commanding them and pushing
- 10:46them towards doing something that the
- 10:48rest of the people are doing. And so
- 10:50it's easy to fall in line. But these
- 10:53people these young people had a
- 10:56connection with
- 10:58Isaam
- 11:00as he was in between as these young
- 11:02group of people were in between the time
- 11:04of Isaam and the prophet Muhammad
- 11:06sallallahu alaihi wasallam. So they
- 11:08didn't fall for exactly what the this
- 11:10tyrant king was opposing upon them to do
- 11:13nor what the general society was
- 11:14following. They knew that Allah subhana
- 11:16wa ta'ala was one. So what did they do
- 11:20given all of the advertisements within a
- 11:23society? Follow this way. Do what it is
- 11:27that we do or you know what we don't
- 11:28like you guys and we'll castigate you to
- 11:30the side because you believe in one god
- 11:32whilst all of us and our forefathers
- 11:34worship more than one. We'll castigate
- 11:36you aside. We'll ostracize you. So now
- 11:40peer pressure comes on the young people.
- 11:42So it's easy to give into what it is
- 11:43that the people of the society says
- 11:45because it feels like there's a benefit
- 11:47right now and you know what nobody will
- 11:49say anything about me right but no Allah
- 11:52is showing us and he tells us these
- 11:54stories for a purpose and he wants us to
- 11:57understand these stories and actually
- 11:58implement them into our lives. So
- 12:01continuing forward, these young people,
- 12:03they called to Allah when they were
- 12:04running away from these people and they
- 12:06come upon a cave because they didn't
- 12:08want to be subject to the rule of the
- 12:10people inside of that town who were
- 12:12worshiping idols. So they run seeking
- 12:16refuge. This is the first thing that
- 12:17they do. They run to Allah subhana tala
- 12:19literally physically. They get away and
- 12:22they remove themselves from the
- 12:24situation in which is impeding upon
- 12:26them. The next thing they do, they make
- 12:29dua to Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
- 12:32They say,
- 12:40they say, "Oh Allah, we have run away
- 12:43from these people seeking you. So grant
- 12:46us your mercy because we have taken
- 12:49action to remove ourselves from what it
- 12:51is that the people in this society calls
- 12:53us towards. drugs, gambling,
- 12:56intoxication,
- 12:57uh intermingling with the opposite
- 12:59gender, so forth and so on. We've run
- 13:02away from that and we're asking you to
- 13:03dispel your mercy upon us, oh Allah,
- 13:06and make a way out of this constricted
- 13:09situation for us. Give us a way out of
- 13:12what the society is telling us is only
- 13:14there for us to go and grasp. Continuing
- 13:16forward,
- 13:18what does Allah do next? because they
- 13:20took the they did action and then they
- 13:24made dua right they had to in Allah
- 13:27subhana wa ta'ala so they took the means
- 13:29by running away and then they
- 13:30supplicated to their lord showing that
- 13:32they trust in Allah subhana wa ta'ala
- 13:34and now he answers their dua
- 13:37continuing Allah subhana wa ta'ala says
- 13:45foreign.
- 14:11Was it
- 14:14for
- 14:34mashallah.
- 14:36So what's so beautiful about this story?
- 14:38Allah then says after them making dua
- 14:41and seeking refuge within Allah by going
- 14:43to the cave, Allah then caused a miracle
- 14:46to happen and he caused sleep to
- 14:48overcome their ears for a multitude of
- 14:51years.
- 14:53And then what Allah then caused them to
- 14:55do because it was two factions, two
- 14:57groups of youth who came together at
- 14:58this same time running away from the uh
- 15:01tyrant and the persecution of these
- 15:03people who wanted them to accept the
- 15:06society the societal standards and norms
- 15:08at the time. So they run away to this
- 15:10cave and Allah put sleep over them. And
- 15:13then Allah says that there was two
- 15:15groups of them in which he woke them up
- 15:17after some time so that they can decide
- 15:19and speak about how long was it that
- 15:22they actually happened to be inside of
- 15:23the cave. So some of them thought that
- 15:26they were just they slept for just a few
- 15:28hours. Some of them thought maybe it was
- 15:30a day or two in which we had been in
- 15:32here. So they devised a plan eventually
- 15:35to uh go out into the city and then they
- 15:38found out that they were blessed with a
- 15:40miracle that they had been sleeping as
- 15:41Allah subhana wa ta'ala says 300 years.
- 15:44Some of the scholars say that this was
- 15:45300 solar years and 309 lunar years. Now
- 15:49what a miracle and look at the way that
- 15:51Allah subhana wa ta'ala relieved them of
- 15:53their situation and how much they were
- 15:54blessed. And we'll speak about that at
- 15:56the end of this story. Continuing though
- 15:58with these verses, Allah says that we
- 16:01tell you their story in truthfulness
- 16:04and we tell you it with full conviction.
- 16:07Truly, these were a young group of
- 16:09people. They were teenagers and younger
- 16:12than 18 years old. They were young
- 16:14people who believed in their Lord. So
- 16:16Allah subhana wa ta'ala increased them
- 16:20in their faith and in guidance. Young
- 16:23people, I'm calling out to you directly.
- 16:27Stay upright within your religion.
- 16:30Listen to what it is that your parents
- 16:31do their best to try to teach you.
- 16:33Listen to your local scholars and what
- 16:35it is that they preach towards you.
- 16:37Actually take in that information and
- 16:39implement it into your lives when you're
- 16:41standing face to face with the decision
- 16:43of uh inciting the desires that call to
- 16:46towards you within this society. when
- 16:48you live up to them and you sacrifice
- 16:51for Allah's sake, you sacrifice the way
- 16:54that you want to live right now. You
- 16:55sacrifice the gaze that you that you
- 16:57want to take right now. You sacrifice
- 16:59fulfilling all of your lust, so forth
- 17:01and desires right now, Allah subhana wa
- 17:03ta'ala will put you in the most blessed
- 17:06of situations if you remain patient
- 17:08right now. That's what Allah subhana wa
- 17:10ta'ala wants to see from you because he
- 17:12understands the difficulty that the
- 17:14youth go through from all of what they
- 17:16have inside of them.
- 17:18Allah knows what you're up against, but
- 17:20Allah witnesses your sacrifice and he
- 17:23will bless you through that because you
- 17:25did what it took to remain firm within
- 17:27faith of him Allah subhana wa ta'ala and
- 17:30following the way of his messenger
- 17:31Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam.
- 17:34So I encourage myself and I encourage
- 17:37you all to take a step back and what it
- 17:40is that we can actually do to implement
- 17:42these stories that Allah subhana wa
- 17:44ta'ala gives us within the glorious
- 17:45Quran to benefit ourselves. Youth know
- 17:49that you are way stronger than what it
- 17:51is that you think you may that you may
- 17:53be. But you do have to take the proper
- 17:57precautions in order to put yourself in
- 17:59a good position to respond in the best
- 18:01way that Allah subhana wa ta'ala wants.
- 18:03You cannot think that you can go out
- 18:06into society and have these things that
- 18:09converge against your desires and pull
- 18:11at you and you can be inside of there
- 18:13and remain faithful. You have to put a
- 18:16barrier between yourself and those
- 18:18things. For example, and we'll speak
- 18:20more about this in the second hudba in
- 18:21relation to what the parents can do to
- 18:23help out their youth. But if you have a
- 18:25cell phone for example and you struggle
- 18:28with looking at things that you're not
- 18:30supposed to look at, well then you have
- 18:32to find a means in order to put a
- 18:34barrier between yourself and that thing
- 18:36that you happen to look at. And parents,
- 18:38we should be understanding regarding our
- 18:40youth and be able to have these
- 18:41conversations so they so that they don't
- 18:43feel afraid of speaking with us. I'll
- 18:46tell you this, I work with many youth in
- 18:48a community. There have been young
- 18:50people who have literally come to me and
- 18:53spoken to me about wanting to commit
- 18:54suicide, God forbid, because they cannot
- 18:58have a conversation with their parents
- 18:59about things that they want to fulfill
- 19:01in their lives. I ask you,
- 19:04why is it that the case that the your
- 19:06your youth your kids cannot come to you
- 19:08and speak about real life issues because
- 19:11it bothers you or because it's something
- 19:13that you may not have done in your
- 19:15youth. So now you make them feel bad
- 19:18about the experiences that they are
- 19:19going through. There was once upon a
- 19:22time when your baby was a baby. You
- 19:25listen to every cry. You get up in the
- 19:28middle of the night to go and attend to
- 19:29them and to their needs. But is it now
- 19:32because their cries come with a voice
- 19:35and their cries come with maybe an
- 19:37attitude that you dislike or their cries
- 19:40come with an appeal to you about
- 19:42something in which you wouldn't have
- 19:43done? So now you don't want to attend to
- 19:46them.
- 19:47What are we doing in reality with our
- 19:49youth? And how are we going to benefit
- 19:51these people? On the day of judgment,
- 19:53you are going to be asked about your
- 19:55children,
- 19:57men. You'll be asked about your
- 19:59household and how were you with your
- 20:00wives? How were you with your children?
- 20:03NOT ONLY JUST TO PROVIDE AND PROTECT for
- 20:04them, but did you nourish them
- 20:06spiritually and mentally?
- 20:09Did you do the things that it TAKE TO
- 20:10REFINE YOURSELF AND YOUR SOUL? Or did
- 20:13you just only give commands for the
- 20:15mothers?
- 20:17Did you do the same thing? Did you learn
- 20:19and look at the best and most astute of
- 20:22women from the sunnah? The wives of the
- 20:24prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam. Did
- 20:26you try to lead your life in that way
- 20:28for your daughters,
- 20:30for your young men? Did you try to set
- 20:32an example or did you just stay with the
- 20:33standard of what society says? You women
- 20:36also will be asked about your household
- 20:39and how you took care of your husband's
- 20:41children. Did you nourish them with
- 20:43Islam? Did you walk it, not just talk
- 20:46it? Every person on the day of judgment
- 20:49is going to be asked about their
- 20:50responsibilities.
- 20:53What is a responsibility? That means
- 20:55that you are able to provide an adequate
- 20:57response to Allah subhana wa ta'ala when
- 21:00you're standing before him.
- 21:03So what are you doing to take or what
- 21:05means are you taking in act uh to to
- 21:08actuate true effect and real change? You
- 21:11and I have to be concerned about our
- 21:14inward selves.
- 21:16You and I have to understand that there
- 21:18are people that we can actually
- 21:20effectuate change within and that has to
- 21:22be the people of our household. That is
- 21:24the microcosm of society. You wonder why
- 21:27society is so bad? It's because of
- 21:29what's going on in households.
- 21:32The household is a microcosm of the
- 21:34macro which is the larger ummah.
- 21:39So when you say what's wrong with
- 21:41society,
- 21:42what's happening to the people, YOU
- 21:44SHOULD BE ASKING WHAT'S HAPPENING to
- 21:46you, what's wrong with you? Are you
- 21:49following the sunnah or is it a weird
- 21:52thing now? Because if our young people
- 21:54feel like getting married, what are you
- 21:57talking to me about marriage? How dare
- 21:59you?
- 22:00How dare you? You got to go to college.
- 22:03You have to get your degree. Then you
- 22:05have to get a home. Do you see what your
- 22:07young people are scrutinized to? No,
- 22:11you're not. You're not listening to
- 22:13them. They're crying and they're
- 22:15pleading because there's things that
- 22:16they need. And young people, because I
- 22:17mentioned marriage and yes, the prophet
- 22:19sallallahu alaihi wasallam did say that
- 22:21if the young people are able to get
- 22:23married, then they should be. And if
- 22:24they can't, then they should fast.
- 22:26Because the prophet sallallahu alaihi
- 22:28wasallam knows how strong the desires of
- 22:31the young people are. Now just because I
- 22:33say that as well young people that does
- 22:35not give you the right to hang something
- 22:36over your parents because there's many
- 22:38things that you have to learn in
- 22:39relation to what marriage is so that you
- 22:41are fully responsible before engaging in
- 22:43on something like that. But parents
- 22:45these should be conversations that your
- 22:47par your children should be able to have
- 22:48with you. They shouldn't have to be
- 22:50afraid because then they resort to worse
- 22:51matters.
- 22:54It's not better to look at something and
- 22:56to mess with yourself rather than
- 22:59actually getting married and benefiting
- 23:01yourself through the way of the prophet
- 23:02sallallahu alaihi wasallam. But again,
- 23:05because of what society says, what
- 23:06you're married at 18, 19, 20, that's so
- 23:10weird. Because of what society says,
- 23:13we're going to follow them, right?
- 23:16But Allah says in the beginning of this
- 23:18as we says whoever obeys Allah subhana
- 23:21wa ta'ala and his messenger Muhammad
- 23:23sallallahu alaihi wasallam will have
- 23:24true victory.
- 23:28That's how we succeed
- 23:31following the way of Allah subhana wa
- 23:33tala and his messenger Muhammad
- 23:34sallallahu alaihi wasallam. THE
- 23:36MESSENGER TOLD US THAT THIS DEAN STARTED
- 23:37OFF weird
- 23:40and they will RETURN TO THAT. WHY ARE WE
- 23:42AFRAID TO FOLLOW THE WAY OF ALLAH
- 23:44subhana wa tala and his messenger and
- 23:46making it difficult in our youth?
- 23:50It's not weird.
- 23:52What's weird IS FALLING SUBJECT TO WHAT
- 23:54SOME NOT NON-BELIEVERS SAY.
- 23:58ALHAMDULILLAH.
- 24:08I've said my first speech. I seek
- 24:10forgiveness of Allah for myself and for
- 24:12you all and for the entirety of the
- 24:13Muslim ummah. So turn your ways orient
- 24:17reorient yourself to the way of Allah
- 24:19subhana wa tala and his messenger
- 24:20Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam and
- 24:22seek Allah's forgiveness for being on
- 24:23the opposite side or being contrary
- 24:25towards that truly Allah is the all
- 24:27forgiven the most merciful
- 24:49Alhamdulillah.
- 25:09All praise belongs to Allah subhana wa
- 25:11ta'ala. the Lord of the worlds, dear
- 25:13brothers and sisters. And there is no
- 25:15animosity from Allah subhana wa ta'ala
- 25:18upon any of us except for those who
- 25:19practice oppression.
- 25:25And he is a safety net for those who
- 25:28have consciousness of him within their
- 25:30day-to-day lives.
- 25:34Please forgive me for the emotion that
- 25:37expels or that has come out from this
- 25:40speech. You know, there's one thing that
- 25:42I've been speaking with my brother about
- 25:45uh in society right now. They talk about
- 25:46this quote unquote Islamic dilemma. And
- 25:50this is something that comes from uh
- 25:52Christian pundits who try to uh
- 25:54basically
- 25:56move people away from Islam. But you
- 25:58know, after having this conversation
- 26:00with myself about us in our state as a
- 26:03ummah, that's what the true Islamic
- 26:06dilemma actually is. is us not actually
- 26:09converging and finding ways and
- 26:11solutions to actually live the way that
- 26:14Allah subhana wa ta'ala has intended us
- 26:16in intended for us and following the way
- 26:17of his messenger sallallahu alaihi
- 26:18wasallam. We've allowed this western
- 26:21culture to tell us uh that we must abide
- 26:24by a certain way and it's strange if you
- 26:26don't uh abide by our way and if you
- 26:29follow the way of your lord you're
- 26:30you're weird or you're strange and we've
- 26:33actually subjected ourselves to this
- 26:35thought and this belief and many of us
- 26:37can actually sit here and have a real
- 26:39conversation with our own selves and say
- 26:41you know what I have had this perception
- 26:43that the west has given to me. We're not
- 26:47going to succeed brothers and sisters if
- 26:48we don't come together. If we don't come
- 26:51to learn, if we don't come to gatherings
- 26:53of remembrance to understand and learn
- 26:55how is it that we can actually affect
- 26:56change the change has to be within
- 26:59yourself. The change has to be you
- 27:02understanding what can I do to make an
- 27:04impact on my family by living the life
- 27:07or the way of the messenger of Allahh
- 27:09sallallahu alaihi wasallam as best as I
- 27:11can. That's how my wife will change a
- 27:15certain way. That's how my children will
- 27:17change and respond a certain way. But if
- 27:19you keep up the same ways in which you
- 27:21are behaving, do you truly want to die
- 27:23upon that? Do you truly want to be
- 27:26questioned about that? Because it's
- 27:28coming and there is nothing that we can
- 27:30do to run away from that. And you and I
- 27:33can really have a true uh uh uh effect
- 27:36on transforming the society. We really
- 27:39can.
- 27:40We really can. But we need to come
- 27:43together. And I'm not talking about
- 27:45solely on the Friday, which is good for
- 27:47us to do, but other days throughout the
- 27:49week and dedicate our time, learn who
- 27:51our shuyuk are within the community,
- 27:53meaning our teachers, come and sit and
- 27:55learn some lessons so you can know the
- 27:57prophetic sunnah. And then you can start
- 27:58making those changes within your home.
- 28:00But if you don't have any connection to
- 28:03the Quran, if you don't have any
- 28:05connection to the s of the prophet
- 28:07sallallahu alaihi wasallam, how are you
- 28:09going to be inspired to change?
- 28:13That's up to you to have a conversation
- 28:15with yourself and then after that that's
- 28:17up to you to sit down with your family
- 28:18and have that conversation together.
- 28:22Alhamdulillah.
- 28:33Oh Allah, we ask that you guide us to
- 28:34your straight path. that you forgive us
- 28:35of our sins and our wrongdoings and that
- 28:37you um reorient our
- 28:41uh way of thought and the way that we
- 28:43implement this dean into our lives. Oh
- 28:46Allah, we ask that you change that lens
- 28:47from the uh from this this western lens
- 28:49and change it to the lens of the way of
- 28:52rasool of sallahu alaihi wasallam and
- 28:54the companions. Oh Allah, we ask that
- 28:56you embibe love in between our hearts
- 29:00and honor, humility and understanding.
- 29:02Oh Allah, we ask that you bring our
- 29:04hearts together to work with one another
- 29:06and to be the best of of nations within
- 29:08this time that you have uh put us uh put
- 29:11us in front of. Oh Allah, we ask that
- 29:13you grant us the best of what it is that
- 29:15we have asked for and the best of what
- 29:16it is that we have not. We ask that you
- 29:18raise the oppression around the world
- 29:19that are being afflicted upon our Muslim
- 29:21brothers and sisters mentally,
- 29:23physically, and spiritually. Oh Allah,
- 29:24and if you decide not to, oh Allah, we
- 29:27ask that you grant us understanding and
- 29:29that you grant them the highest and most
- 29:30lofty uh entrances and entrances into
- 29:34your Oh Allah, and relieve them of their
- 29:37pains and their sufferings.
- 29:51Allah subhana wa ta'ala commands you and
- 29:53I to do three things which is to do good
- 29:56deeds, be upright and to give to those
- 29:58who are close to us, our children, our
- 30:01families, our neighbors and so forth and
- 30:03so on. And he forbids that uh three
- 30:05things for us that which is blamew
- 30:07worthy uh that which is oppressive and
- 30:10that which uh brings evil to society. He
- 30:13reminds you and I so that we may take
- 30:15heed
- 30:18Remember
- 30:23Allah subhana wa ta'ala the grand much
- 30:26and he shall surely remember you and I
- 30:28and thank him much for the blessings
- 30:29that he has given you and I and he will
- 30:31give us even more.
