The FDA Has Banned NMN Supplements! — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00The FDA has just released a statement
- 0:02banning any men supplements. This came
- 0:04to my attention yesterday, November
- 0:0610th, 2022. The article starts by saying
- 0:09that the FDA's recently held position is
- 0:11likely to cause disruption to the enemy
- 0:13marketplace. The article goes on to say
- 0:15that US regulators have determined that
- 0:17an ingredient marketed on Amazon for
- 0:19such health conditions such as
- 0:20anti-aging and energy production cannot
- 0:23be sold in dietary supplements due to
- 0:25being investigated as a pharmaceutical
- 0:27drug. So why is the FDA doing this now?
- 0:30Well, they say that based on new
- 0:31information that came to light when they
- 0:33were reviewing another notification, the
- 0:36FDA initiated a review of past
- 0:38notification responses for enmen and
- 0:41concluded that enmen is excluded from
- 0:43the definition of a dietary supplement.
- 0:45Now that's just an article. Let's have a
- 0:47look at what the FDA actually said. So
- 0:49if we go on to regulations.gov,
- 0:51we can see exactly word for word the
- 0:53FDA's statement. The letter is dated
- 0:56October 11th, 2022. And when we scroll
- 0:59down, we can see the overall conclusion.
- 1:01Accordingly, we conclude that any men is
- 1:03excluded from the dietary supplement
- 1:05definition and may not be marketed as or
- 1:08in a dietary supplement. So why has this
- 1:10happened now? [snorts] Well, the FDA say
- 1:12that when they initially reviewed the
- 1:14new dietary ingredient notifications
- 1:16relating to enemmen, enmen was not
- 1:18clearly identified as an article that
- 1:20was authorized for investigation, i.e.
- 1:23MIB 626. Now, you may have heard about
- 1:26people like Dr. Davidson CLA talking
- 1:28about MIB 626. Once the FDA was made
- 1:31aware of the connection between Enmen
- 1:33and MIB626, we concluded that Enmen is
- 1:36in fact excluded from the definition of
- 1:39a dietary supplement. So, what is
- 1:41MIB626?
- 1:42Well, a company called Metro
- 1:44International Biotech developed a
- 1:46proprietary form of any which is called
- 1:49MIB 626. And this company has been
- 1:51devoted into pursuing a pharmaceutical
- 1:53development pathway since the company's
- 1:55inception. So who is Metrobiotech
- 1:58International? Who is the company that's
- 2:00lobbyed the FDA to ban any men? Well,
- 2:03when we go onto their website, we can
- 2:05see that Metro International Biotech was
- 2:06co-founded and is still run by Dr.
- 2:09Davidson Clear, PhD, Harvard professor,
- 2:11the one who initially started the NMN
- 2:14hype train. So what's my take on all of
- 2:16this? Well, personally, I stopped taking
- 2:18Enmen about 2 years ago when I got off
- 2:20that enemy bandwagon and had a proper
- 2:23look at the research. Since then, we've
- 2:25had multiple human studies showing that
- 2:27enimemen when used at dosages between
- 2:29500 and 1,000 mg, it appears to be safe
- 2:32over a 3-month period. So, because of
- 2:34that safety data, if people elect to
- 2:36take anymen, I think they should be
- 2:38allowed to buy anymen. After all, enem
- 2:41is just a type of vitamin B3, and people
- 2:44can buy vitamin C supplements over the
- 2:46counter. So, should it not be the same
- 2:48for any men? And looking at the saga, to
- 2:50me, it seems like history is repeating
- 2:52itself. David Sinclair created a
- 2:53truckload of hype around rveratrol,
- 2:56developed a proprietary blend of
- 2:57rveratrol, and then sold that research
- 2:59to the highest bidder, which
- 3:01subsequently was found to be worthless,
- 3:03and that investment was written off. It
- 3:05seems like the exact same thing is
- 3:06happening here with NN. Overall, my
- 3:09advice is to focus on a great diet,
- 3:11regular exercise, and highquality sleep.
- 3:14There are a couple of supplements such
- 3:15as creatine that can be a useful
- 3:17addition, but they should not replace,
- 3:19again, diet, exercise, and sleep. Do
- 3:21what you can to avoid hype and make sure
- 3:23to stay safe. A massive thank you to do
- 3:26not.org for their $10,000 donation to my
- 3:28rapamy study. They are a health research
- 3:31organization and to benefit from their
