- 0:00# RED HIVE GUIDE V5
- 0:00## INTRO Okay, I'm back with
- 0:00another Bee Swarm guide. You guys really liked my last one, so this time we're going over **Red
- 0:05Hive** — which is also my specialty, so I'll be able to help a lot more in the comments.
- 0:08This guide is based on the most up-to-date Red Hive information from Bee Swarm Guide
- 0:12Help. I'll have the full Google Doc and their Discord linked in the description.
- 0:15I'm gonna get straight into it because I know guides can get boring. Video chapters
- 0:18are available, and if you have a question, just ask me in the comments. I promise I'll answer.
- 0:23--- # SWITCHING REQUIREMENTS & WARNINGS
- 0:24Before anything else, let's talk about what you actually need before switching Red.
- 0:27### MACRO DEPENDENCY First: **Red is heavily dependent on macro.**
- 0:30There's a common misconception that Blue needs macro while Red
- 0:33is mostly manual. That's not really the case. Red uses macro for things like bug runs, Vicious
- 0:37runs, Mondo hops, Puff runs, maintaining mutations and nectars, and keeping Balloon Blessing.
- 0:37**[ON SCREEN: FULL LIST]** So if you don't want to macro,
- 0:38Red probably isn't the hive color for you. ### BEEQUIPS
- 0:40Red doesn't need as many alts as Blue — around **2 to 4** can work — but Red Beequips can be
- 0:43much harder to obtain because of their price, demand, supply, and rare Caustic abilities and
- 0:48hive bonuses. ### ROBO BEAR
- 0:49You'll also need to be prepared to do a lot of **Robo Bear Challenge**.
- 0:52Getting colored and glitched drives is repetitive, and a lot of Red Hives end up quitting because
- 0:56they don't want to keep doing drive runs. ### LEVEL 20
- 1:01You should also be **Hive Level 20** before switching.
- 1:03Switching earlier isn't cost-effective because the honey is better spent leveling
- 1:06your hive, and Precise and Vector both benefit heavily from levels.
- 1:09### HONEY & SSA You'll want around
- 1:11**1.5 to 2+ quadrillion honey**. For gifting, the recommended approach
- 1:14is to Royal Jelly for Mythics and use the Ticket Shop for Star Treats when the price makes sense.
- 1:19Otherwise, gifted Mythic rolls can be used. The important part is that you should **not switch
- 1:22unless you can guarantee a fully gifted hive.** For SSA, you're looking specifically for:
- 1:26**5/5 Scorching Star + Star Saw.** The average cost is
- 1:30around **945 trillion honey**. **[ON SCREEN: REQUIREMENTS CHECKLIST]**
- 1:32### DARK SCYTHE Dark Scythe is extremely important for Red.
- 1:34Most starter Reds don't have it because of the Riley quest requirement, but you should already
- 1:38have the crafting materials before switching so you can get it as soon as possible.
- 1:41Dark Scythe is basically the core of Red because it turns Flames into Dark Flames,
- 1:45resets their lifespan, helps build Scorching Star, and provides Super-Crit Power and Instant
- 1:49Red Ability Conversion. ### DIGITAL BEE
- 1:51Digital Bee should also be unlocked before switching.
- 1:53At minimum, you want **500 Red Drives and 500 White Drives** before boosting,
- 1:56although having more is obviously better.
- 1:58I'd recommend having at least around **100 Glitched Drives** so you can actually get a
- 2:01decent boost. ### ALTS
- 2:02Red is not really viable without alts. At minimum, you want **two Fuzzy alts**
- 2:05for field pollination, and ideally around **4–5 Supreme Saturators** in the field
- 2:09to keep your flowers healthy. ### BEEQUIPS & STICKER STACK
- 2:11Before switching, make sure you have your mandatory Beequips, especially things like
- 2:15**Toy Horn and Toy Drum**. You should also have a strong
- 2:17Sticker Stack before boosting. It's useful for Robo Bear too, so ideally
- 2:21get this done before switching. ---
- 2:22# THE HIVE Now let's get into the actual hive.
- 2:24These hives are **baselines**, not some permanent copy-and-paste meta hive.
- 2:27You should eventually change your composition based on your
- 2:29Beequips and your own boosting playstyle. There's no single perfect Red Hive because people
- 2:33are constantly testing new setups. ## BARE-MINIMUM RED HIVE
- 2:37**[SHOW FULL HIVE ON SCREEN]** The basic setup is:
- 2:38**11 Spicy 10 Precise
- 2:409 Vector** Then your support bees:
- 2:42**1 Carpenter 1 Music
- 2:432 Baby 1 Riley
- 2:441 Rad 1 Stubborn
- 2:451 Basic 1 Crimson
- 2:461 Digital 1 Bear**
- 2:47You have around nine flexible slots after that, so let's go over the
- 2:50main options. ---
- 2:50## SHOCKED BEE Shocked gives you **Haste and Token Link**.
- 2:52Its gifted hive bonus isn't useful for Red, but it can hold a **Kazoo**,
- 2:55which makes it much more valuable. It's also one of the better Melody producers,
- 2:59so it's a very common choice. ---
- 3:00## RAGE BEE Rage gives you **10% Bee Attack**, which lets you
- 3:03run Red Bomb Pollen on your Stickbug Amulet. That alone isn't amazing, but once you put a
- 3:07**Melody Whistle** on it, Rage becomes much more useful.
- 3:09It basically becomes an alternative to Shocked, trading some Beequipped stats for a better
- 3:14hive bonus. ---
- 3:14## SECOND RILEY A second Riley gives you
- 3:16faster Scorch buildup and another Haste source. Ideally, you'd want another good **Toy Drum** to
- 3:20make this worthwhile. ---
- 3:21## SHY VS TABBY If you're choosing between Shy and Tabby,
- 3:24it mostly comes down to personal testing. Shy gives **Red Boost, Token Link, and Bee Ability
- 3:28Pollen**, but it takes a Beequip slot. Tabby gives a stronger passive bonus and
- 3:32Tabby Love, but its uptime is low. So you're basically choosing between more
- 3:35consistent support from Shy or the stronger passive from Tabby without using another
- 3:39Beequip slot. ---
- 3:39## PHOTON Photon gives **5%
- 3:41Instant Conversion**, plus Haste, Token Link, and Bee Ability Pollen through its Beequip.
- 3:45It's generally recommended to keep Photon. The main exception is if you have **permanent Coco
- 3:49Combo**, where you could consider dropping it. ---
- 3:52## PUPPY Only really consider Puppy
- 3:53if you have **Baby Love Antlers**. Puppy gives Focus, 1.1x Capacity,
- 3:57Puppy Love, and Baby Love. It also produces about as much Baby
- 4:00Love as a Tadpole. ---
- 4:01## 11TH PRECISE An extra Precise gives
- 4:03you more consistent **Precise Shots and Precise Marks** during Scorch.
- 4:06It can also make X-Flame and Scorch timing easier to control, although you have to manage
- 4:10it correctly. ---
- 4:11## MORE SPICY The number of Spicies you
- 4:13run is mostly personal preference. Every extra Spicy helps Scorch grow
- 4:16and gives you Instant Conversion and Battle Tokens for X-Flame.
- 4:19So if you have an extra slot, adding another Spicy is usually a safe choice.
- 4:22--- ## MORE VECTOR
