- 1:11it. So, I'm going to try my luck again.
- 1:17>> Never. Never. I'm so glad that you
- 1:20remember.
- 1:22>> So, I'll ask instead, how's your Florida
- 1:24Supercon going?
- 1:25>> So fun. And everybody's been so great
- 1:27and it's been heaven being with these
- 1:30guys
- 1:30>> again.
- 1:31>> All four Defenders are here and the
- 1:34entire cast of Daredevil. So we we're
- 1:36feeling we're feeling a lot of some
- 1:39dramatics going on at the end there.
- 1:41>> Did you just explode?
- 1:44He's just really excited to be here with
- 1:45us today.
- 1:46>> I'm going to leave that one alone.
- 1:48Leave that alone on the floor. Guys, I'm
- 1:50an adult.
- 1:52>> Finn, how's your Florida Supercon been
- 1:53treating you so far?
- 1:54>> It's been great. It's been wonderful.
- 1:56Everyone's been really uh kind and
- 1:59passionate and it's been a it's been a
- 2:01great experience so far. And it's it's
- 2:02great to be with these guys, too. So,
- 2:04we're having a lot of fun.
- 2:05>> Mike, you're fighting with your soda, so
- 2:06I'm assuming it's a tough day.
- 2:07>> I'm Listen to these guys. Everyone has
- 2:09been so mean to me and suddenly you guys
- 2:11are like a man. No, I'm joking.
- 2:13Everyone's been great. Everyone's been
- 2:14great.
- 2:15>> Shall we talk to our lovely, beautiful
- 2:16friends in the audience?
- 2:18>> Sure.
- 2:18>> All right. We're going to start right
- 2:19here in the middle cuz Barbara go No,
- 2:21it's Catwoman or Batgirl. Cow woman
- 2:23because Selena Kyle jumped up real fast.
- 2:25Please tell me what is your name? Where
- 2:28are you from? And why does this deserve
- 2:31to be the first question?
- 2:33Okay. Hi, my name is Kayla. I'm from
- 2:36here Miami. U my question for you guys
- 2:39is do you have a favorite action
- 2:42sequence or emotional scene that you've
- 2:44done in either your perspective shows or
- 2:46on the defenders?
- 2:48>> Great question.
- 2:50We had so many great action sequences on
- 2:53the defenders and that was fun because
- 2:56we split the workload and it was kind of
- 2:59like social hour. We were always just
- 3:01like
- 3:02>> knitting,
- 3:02>> you know, knitting. I was knitting and
- 3:05and so was Charlie. He's not here to
- 3:07defend himself, but I will tell you he
- 3:08was knitting. And we had really big long
- 3:11fight sequences with multiple beats and
- 3:14and that was really fun to learn. It's
- 3:16kind of like a dance class.
- 3:18>> Yeah. Yeah. My my favorite fight
- 3:20sequences were our first fight sequence
- 3:23in in Luke's bar.
- 3:25>> Yeah, I was going to say that one, too.
- 3:26>> Yeah, that was my favorite. It's like
- 3:27the initial like way to bond. It's like
- 3:29all a sudden we're fighting and it just
- 3:32was a this is the first time we actually
- 3:33got a chance to use our powers. SJ
- 3:35directed that episode and we just
- 3:36figured out the characters, how they
- 3:38fight and just it just was a first time
- 3:40and it felt really cool and I look back
- 3:42at that as a a seminal moment like and
- 3:44then the next my other favorite two are
- 3:47obviously all of us fighting together in
- 3:49the
- 3:50>> Oh yeah, that one
- 3:51>> in the office and it's just a big
- 3:53choreographed scene and things happen.
- 3:55People are coming through the wall and
- 3:56it's the camera and we're moving. It's
- 3:57just a lot going on. That was cool. And
- 3:59then ob the other one obviously is me
- 4:01and Finn when he came to to Luke Cage
- 4:03for an episode and we had a really cool
- 4:05fight sequence in the warehouse and that
- 4:07was really awesome too.
- 4:08>> Yeah. I think mine was the warehouse.
- 4:09That was a really great one. And then
- 4:11the boardroom when we were two of us.
- 4:14>> Oh the I thought that
- 4:15>> Yeah, the boardroom.
- 4:16>> Oh yeah, the boardroom cuz then we had
- 4:18the hallway flight.
- 4:19>> That's what I mean. That was the four of
- 4:20us and then we Okay. Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:21>> That one where we came out of the
- 4:23elevator in the white and you're like on
- 4:24the other side of
- 4:25>> Yeah. I'm like hiding behind you and
- 4:27using you as a a shield.
- 4:28>> Shield. Yeah, but that's conveniently.
- 4:30It's always convenient that I'm, you
- 4:31know, a guy who's bulletproof. That's
- 4:33what we do.
- 4:36>> Thank you so much for your question and
- 4:37for being brave enough to ask first.
- 4:39Thank you guys.
- 4:41Over to this side. Hi, what is your
- 4:43name? Where are you from? And what is
- 4:44your question?
- 4:45>> Hi, my name is Brandon and I'm from
- 4:47Miami. The question for all of you is
- 4:49it's been 10 years both in universe and
- 4:52out since the defenders ended. So, how
- 4:55do you feel that your characters have
- 4:56evolved during that time span?
- 5:00We've had kids.
- 5:02>> Yeah. Well, we do, but
- 5:04>> yeah, some of us,
- 5:06>> you know, it's wild. It's kind of It's
- 5:08such a unique, rare experience to play a
- 5:11character for so long. Um, you know, we
- 5:14did Jessica Jones and the Defenders over
- 5:16the course of like 5 years and then
- 5:18coming back to Daredevil Born Again. Um,
- 5:22getting to play a character for like
- 5:24six, seven seasons of a show is just so
- 5:28rare and sometimes it feels like no time
- 5:30has passed and sometimes it feels like
- 5:33we've been doing it forever and what a
- 5:35gift. And um, it's just such a privilege
- 5:37and it's so fun when these characters
- 5:39are so deep in yourselves. You always
- 5:41can find opportunities to discover more
- 5:43and dig deeper and and that's such a
- 5:45gift
- 5:47>> and getting to see all you guys for all
- 5:48of this time.
- 5:52Yeah, it's it's really wonderful to play
- 5:53a character for 10 years and then to
- 5:55take a break in between and to imagine
- 5:58like what's that character been going
- 5:59through for those times that he hasn't
- 6:01been on screen. And I think uh if I can
- 6:04just speak to Danny like the last time
- 6:06we saw him, he was going off to Asia to
- 6:08go on a kind of quest to discover
- 6:10himself. And so for personally, there's
- 6:13a lot of room for growth. And in my own
- 6:15imagination, I've been having fun with
- 6:18thinking about all the places he's
- 6:19traveled and all the things that he's
- 6:20done along the way. And it's um it's
- 6:22really rewarding as an actor and as an
- 6:24artist to play a character for this long
- 6:25and to bring a lot of your own personal
- 6:27growth and wisdom and experience and age
- 6:31back into the character um you know 10
- 6:35years later. It's it's cool.
- 6:37>> Yeah. Was there all of us answering this
- 6:41question?
- 6:41>> The same for your question.
- 6:43>> Yeah. No, I think I I said had kids. I
- 6:46think I I said it. I said on screen and
- 6:49offscreen, we've had children now. So
- 6:50that's right. That's the That's the full
- 6:52journey.
- 6:53>> Thank you so much for your question in
- 6:56the middle here. Hi. What is your name?
- 6:58Where are you from?
- 6:58>> Deborah. I'm from Orlando. My question
- 7:01is for Mike. So it's been 10 years. You
- 7:04Luke Cage always had a complicated
- 7:06relationship with family. His father,
- 7:08brother, cousin. Do you think his
- 7:10perspective has changed now that he's a
- 7:11dad?
- 7:13Uh yeah, I mean I guess either one of
- 7:15two things are going to happen. Either
- 7:16he's going to be the father that he wish
- 7:19he had or something like that and be a
- 7:21better version of of a father and
- 7:25remember why how he felt as a child or
- 7:27he's just going to repeat patterns of
- 7:29the family trauma. And uh we'll have to
- 7:31see. I mean, you know, it's uh yeah,
- 7:33it's interesting. We'll see. We'll see
- 7:35if he's any better at fatherhood.
- 7:38>> Thank you so much. Hello. What is your
- 7:41name? Where are you from and what is
- 7:43your question?
- 7:44>> Hi, I'm Catherine. I'm from Orlando. I
- 7:47kind of wanted to ask a silly question.
- 7:49>> Do it.
- 7:50>> Um, if your characters had to work a
- 7:52regular 9 to 5 job, which job would be
- 7:55would they be like the worst in
- 7:57>> the worst?
- 7:58>> Yeah,
- 7:58>> that's good. Worst. That's a good one.
- 8:01>> Anything like for Jessica would be very
- 8:04bad at any kind of customer service.
- 8:07>> Yeah.
- 8:08>> Any kind of forward- facing public. She
- 8:10would not do well with that.
- 8:13>> I would love to see it though.
- 8:15>> Funny you would see JJ working at a
- 8:16retail store. I don't think so.
- 8:20>> I think Danny would be really bad
- 8:22probably working somewhere in Wall
- 8:25Street or something where he has to be
- 8:28uh kind of like a liar or
- 8:30>> a suit.
- 8:31>> Yeah, a suit. I I think he'd be terrible
- 8:33with that. He's far too honest and he's
- 8:34far too chill to kind of play that game.
- 8:37>> So like a salesman. He'd be terrible as
- 8:39a salesman. Terrible. He wouldn't want
- 8:42to sell anything to anyone. He'd just
- 8:44want to give it away.
- 8:45>> That's right. Give it away. Okay, I'm
- 8:47not going to sing that song. Um, give it
- 8:49away. Give it away. I could that comes
- 8:50in my head. Can't help it. Um, so I
- 8:54would um I think oddly enough
- 8:57though Luke Cage is associated with like
- 9:00um you know coffee and you know you know
- 9:02get having coffee. I think Luke would be
- 9:04a terrible barista.
- 9:07>> Terrible barista. I would be a terrible
- 9:08barista. I I have a coffee machine,
- 9:11multiple coffee machines. One of them
- 9:13has not even been used, but I I have it.
- 9:14It's nice. Beautiful machine. And um I
- 9:18still go to the coffee shop and I like
- 9:20baristas because they know what they're
- 9:21doing and they make their cute little
- 9:22foam and I can't do that. And I don't
- 9:24have the patience and I see lines and it
- 9:26gives me anxiety and I think to myself,
- 9:28"Oh my god, this would be hell to have
- 9:30like a 100 people." Like imagine 100
- 9:32people standing in line with all
- 9:33different orders, different temperatures
- 9:35and you can't leave and you can't go to
- 9:37the bathroom and you're like that's like
- 9:38hell to me. Like I just making coffee
- 9:40cups are mounting up. I don't know how
- 9:42baristas do it. So shout out to all
- 9:44those baristas out there who are doing
- 9:46it day in and day out making it look
- 9:48cool making it look effortless and just
- 9:50sort of vi have a vibe. I mean I you
- 9:52guys are killing it. 5 in the morning
- 9:53people want their coffee. You're just in
- 9:55a zone cranking them out. lattes, flat
- 9:58whites, um, matchas, chai lattes, you
- 10:02know, cortados, you know, Cuba. Shout
- 10:04out to all the caffeinated, decaf,
- 10:07>> 110°, you know, easy in the foam, you
- 10:10know what I mean? Cappuccinos, guys.
- 10:12Guys, I I'm telling you, that's that's
- 10:15serious work. So,
- 10:17>> yeah.
- 10:17>> Wait, but now we've got to ask, what is
- 10:19your coffee order?
- 10:20>> Oh, my co See, I'm I I make it easy. I
- 10:22make it easy.
- 10:23>> Oh, do you? Well, it's always a flat
- 10:26white usually. I'm into flat whites now.
- 10:28It used to be lattes for a bit. I'll do
- 10:30a matcha maybe.
- 10:31>> I feel like you would get a seasonal
- 10:33>> Oh, no. I stopped that. I stopped that
- 10:35pumpkin spice stuff. There was a time
- 10:37where I was locked in on pumpkin spices
- 10:38when I was a Starbucks guy. A zombie of
- 10:41the corporation Starbucks. I'm no longer
- 10:43I'm free now. I don't do Starbucks. All
- 10:45right. Boo. Boo.
- 10:49>> Thank you so much for a great question.
- 10:53Hello my friend. What is your name?
- 10:54Where are you from? And what is your
- 10:56question? Or your Wonderman. Hello
- 10:57Wonderman. Hi Simon.
- 10:58>> Oh that's what it is.
- 11:00>> Uh so my name is Hugh. Uh I am from
- 11:02Myar, Florida. And so I think I speak
- 11:05for everyone that we're all excited to
- 11:06see all three of you return.
- 11:11>> Uh my question to you is uh what has
- 11:13been your favorite part of uh filming
- 11:15Daredevil Born Again season 3 together
- 11:18individually? What has been your
- 11:19favorite part about it?
- 11:20>> I don't know. I don't know if I was in
- 11:22that break your NDAs.
- 11:26>> Well, the tough thing is right is
- 11:28officially nothing has been announced.
- 11:31So, we're in this difficult position
- 11:32where like everyone's on the internet,
- 11:35but we
- 11:36>> stop talking
- 11:36>> cannot talk. But what I will say is
- 11:39anytime that we're together, whether it
- 11:41be at Comic-Con or we just randomly find
- 11:43each other in New York, there's always a
- 11:46good vibe. We just we have a really good
- 11:48synchronicity.
- 11:48>> New York is a very small city.
- 11:50>> Yeah. Yeah. I mean, we run into each
- 11:51other all the time
- 11:52>> cuz we only live in Hell's Kitchen.
- 11:53>> Right. Right. Right. Right.
- 11:54>> Well, I'm in Harlem, but it's a short
- 11:56ride to Hell's Kitchen. So,
- 11:57>> Right. Right. And we're always doing
- 11:58kind of vigilante style stuff.
- 12:00>> I mean, I'm getting coffee all the time.
- 12:04>> I mean, all
- 12:05>> for the record, I have no idea what
- 12:07they're talking about.
- 12:09>> Thank you for your question and for
- 12:11trying your luck.
- 12:12>> Hello, friend. What is your name? Where
- 12:14are you from? And what is your question?
- 12:16>> How you doing? I'm My name is Jack. I'm
- 12:17from Penrook Pines, Florida.
- 12:21I'm a big fan of all your series. I
- 12:24really loved it. Um, longtime fan of
- 12:26Marvel since I was a kid. My question
- 12:28is, and you might you guys might not be
- 12:29able to answer this, but I'm happy you
- 12:32guys are in the official MCU. Please
- 12:34tell me you guys are going to be part of
- 12:35the of the um Secret Wars or the uh uh
- 12:40Doomsday. Please tell me that. We all
- 12:43want to see it.
- 12:44>> You think if they couldn't answer
- 12:45Daredevil, they could answer Avengers?
- 12:48>> Oh my god.
- 12:49>> Fine. Fine. If you can't answer that,
- 12:50then Michael Coulter, I love Luke Cage.
- 12:53Big fan.
- 12:54>> I I'm shocked, man. I'm shocked.
- 12:56Actually, looking at you, I could I I
- 12:58did not think you were a fan of me. I
- 12:59just looking at you going,
- 13:00>> "All right, so this is kind of a funny
- 13:02question, but Luke Cage, tell me I know
- 13:05you're you're a big guy already, but
- 13:06tell me, are you going to get on that
- 13:08Chris Evans or Hugh Jackman diet and get
- 13:10jacked up and put on 30 lbs of muscle?"
- 13:12>> Look, I I I like playing other
- 13:14characters in Luke Cage, so I like to
- 13:16reserve the idea that you I'm not doing
- 13:18that. And I'm not injecting the drug.
- 13:19I'm not doing the drug thing right now.
- 13:20Not yet anyway. So I'm not I'm not doing
- 13:23the what is the stuff the Treny and the
- 13:26what the peptides and No, I'm not doing
- 13:29any of that stuff right now.
- 13:30>> Okay.
- 13:30>> He's running on
- 13:33>> I'm working on a legal show right now.
- 13:34I'm playing a lawyer. So I'm not going
- 13:36to get too beef.
- 13:38>> Hi friend. What is your name? Where are
- 13:40you from? And what is your question?
- 13:41>> Hi, I'm Chris. I'm from Jacksonville.
- 13:44And what and I love what I love about
- 13:46the MCU. I love when they do the
- 13:47crossovers like they bring other
- 13:48people's characters together which is
- 13:50like why I love the defenders end.
- 13:52Recently we saw Charlie Cox with
- 13:54Daredevil. He got to interact with
- 13:55Spider-Man and She-Hulkoff. So my
- 13:58question to you is like what character
- 14:00in the MCU do you wish that you could
- 14:02have the chance to your character could
- 14:04interact with? What would you what would
- 14:05what would do you wish you could see
- 14:09>> as we're here writing fanfiction?
- 14:12>> I was going to answer it. Um, I always
- 14:14say Spider-Man just because he's Queens
- 14:16and I just feel like, you know, I've
- 14:17seen the comic books where they already
- 14:18were together. I mean, I mean, Hulk
- 14:21would be fun, but Hulk doesn't really
- 14:22have much conversation, you know? He
- 14:23just sort of like, you know, you know,
- 14:25so I don't know.
- 14:27>> I heard everyone who just like, well,
- 14:28he's smart Hulk now.
- 14:30>> What?
- 14:31>> He's smart Hulk now, so he string a
- 14:33sentence.
- 14:33>> That sounds like a dig. You guys still
- 14:34mad at him being smart? Is that what it
- 14:36is? I mean, I'm I'm not going to lie. I
- 14:38mean, I I was they didn't have him
- 14:40around for Thanos, so I was like, what?
- 14:41No. And I I just still don't buy that
- 14:43Thyos beat him. I'm sorry. I don't care.
- 14:45I don't care what you say. You keep
- 14:47beating the Hulk. Hulk gets madder. And
- 14:48I'm sorry. You can't stop him. And the
- 14:50Hulkbuster suit, boo. I don't want to
- 14:52see that either. I don't want There's no
- 14:53such thing a Hulkbuster suit. Stop it.
- 14:57>> I'm not too sure. I know that there's a
- 14:59lot of crossover with Shangi and Iron
- 15:01Fist in the comic books.
- 15:04>> I I think that would be kind of cool,
- 15:06you know, to kind of We We've seen Danny
- 15:08a lot in the kind of street level New
- 15:10York City world. I think it would be
- 15:12kind of cool to see him go a bit
- 15:14mystical, go into some other realms, uh,
- 15:16become a bit more powerful, uh, maybe
- 15:19fight Shangi a little bit. I think that
- 15:21would be a nice direction.
- 15:25>> Thank you so much for your question.
- 15:27>> Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I think I love
- 15:29Jessica. I think she's so badass that we
- 15:31could throw her in with anybody and and
- 15:33we'd be in for a treat. Um, yeah. I
- 15:36Wherever Jessica could show up, I would
- 15:38be stoked.
- 15:38>> All right. Well, thank you very much.
- 15:39You're awesome.
- 15:40>> Thank you.
- 15:41Hi friend. What is your name? Where are
- 15:43you from? And what is your question?
- 15:45>> Hello. My name is Lewis. I'm from Miami.
- 15:48Uh I had a question for all of you. I'm
- 15:50a big wrestling fan. And also first for
- 15:53first and foremost, I love what you guys
- 15:54do. Seriously, the fact that you guys
- 15:56can literally create practically another
- 15:59entire universe inside of the MCU and
- 16:01then bring it into it. Amazing. Thank
- 16:03you guys so much for what you do. I I
- 16:04love it. Um anyways, I have a silly
- 16:07question. Uh, I'm a big wrestling fan,
- 16:10like I said. What would uh
- 16:12>> Can't take it anymore.
- 16:14>> Would you guys have a WWE wrestler that
- 16:17you would like absolutely love to fight
- 16:20in your um characters?
- 16:21>> Oh, that's cool. Maybe the Hardy Boys.
- 16:25>> Yeah, I'm like old school.
- 16:27>> Oh, I'm going to go old school. I'm
- 16:28going to go Legion of Doom then.
- 16:30>> Yeah. Remember the the intro music for
- 16:33Legion of Doom?
- 16:36Oh, that was the demolition. No,
- 16:37remember the demolition boys? That was
- 16:38good, too. I was even brighter.
- 16:40>> What's going on?
- 16:42>> Was that someone being funny or did
- 16:44>> Luckily, we still have these big guys.
- 16:46>> Wow.
- 16:48>> I thought you were I thought like the
- 16:50DJs were giving us a wrestling intro.
- 16:52>> Oh, that was
- 16:56dude.
- 16:56>> That was that was a good song.
- 16:58>> And you were just going to
- 16:58>> Ultimate Warriors. Yeah, Ultimate
- 17:00Warrior was good.
- 17:02>> Wrestlemania.
- 17:02>> Thank you so much for your question. In
- 17:04the meantime, please get back to your
- 17:06seats safely. Hi, what is your name?
- 17:09Where are you from? And what is your
- 17:10question?
- 17:11>> Hi, my name is Mariah. I'm from
- 17:12Hollywood, Florida.
- 17:14>> Um, so my question is, we heard a lot
- 17:16about you guys bringing your own spin,
- 17:18your own personal lifestyle into your
- 17:21character. Is there any part of your
- 17:23character that you took with you, good
- 17:25or bad, that you still hold a piece of
- 17:28to this day? Well, Jessica has super
- 17:31strength and whenever we do fight
- 17:32sequences, the stunt performers are on
- 17:34wires and they go flying and it has
- 17:36given me this false sense of like how
- 17:39strong I am and um I've taken that with
- 17:42me into my life and I believe that I am
- 17:44super strength.
- 17:47Uh, I think one of the things I love
- 17:48about Danny the most is that even in the
- 17:50face of adversity, he's always able to
- 17:52find some level of resilience and to
- 17:55always see uh the kind of best in people
- 17:58and the best in himself. And I I really
- 18:00love that quality of the character and
- 18:02that's something I've definitely kept
- 18:03with me uh for all of these years.
- 18:07>> Um, I take Luke Luke's ability to go to
- 18:10the front of the line in most clubs and
- 18:12just get in.
- 18:14It's a superpower. Yeah. that it's like,
- 18:16"Hey, what are you guys doing here? Uh,
- 18:17can I come in?" Sure.
- 18:20>> Works for me.
- 18:21>> Um, and real quick, I just want to say
- 18:23thank you so much, Kristen, for being
- 18:24such a badass role model for girls,
- 18:27especially alternative girls. We don't
- 18:29have too many good role models out
- 18:30there. So, thank you so much for showing
- 18:32that we can chug a jack and go on or
- 18:35about our day and kick ass. So, thank
- 18:36you.
- 18:37>> It is my pleasure.
- 18:39>> Thank you so much.
- 18:41>> Thank you. Hello. What is your name?
- 18:43Where are you from? What is your
- 18:44question?
- 18:45>> Uh, hi. I'm Chris. I'm from Miami. Um,
- 18:49>> first I wanted to say Finn. Um, my
- 18:51brother told me a story about more chi,
- 18:53more power, and I thought that was
- 18:54really funny. So, um,
- 18:57>> yeah. So, on my uh on the autographs,
- 18:59I'll always sign more chi, more power.
- 19:01And I think it was for season 2, I was
- 19:03doing some training with a Shaolin monk
- 19:05in like Lower East Side. And whilst we
- 19:08were doing the the drills, we were doing
- 19:10these like uh energy drills. He was just
- 19:12like shouting out at me. He was JUST
- 19:13LIKE, "BOY, MORE POWER." And I was like,
- 19:16"Wo, that's pretty [ __ ] cool." And
- 19:19so, yeah, I like to kind of just like
- 19:21part that on with the autographs
- 19:23whenever I sign them. I think it's a
- 19:24good good bit of energy to kind of send
- 19:26people's way.
- 19:28>> Yeah. Um, but my my question is for
- 19:31Mike. Um,
- 19:33is is it weird standing there and taking
- 19:37bullets like does it does it feel
- 19:39awkward to actually do it versus like
- 19:41how it looks in the show?
- 19:43Um, do do you mean me the actor?
- 19:48Does it feel weird pretending to take
- 19:50bullets?
- 19:52>> Basically. Yeah. Like I guess a followup
- 19:54like how do how do they do it? Like
- 19:56>> Oh, how do they do Okay, so basically um
- 19:59there's two ways of doing it. We did it
- 20:00the oldfashioned way for many reasons.
- 20:03I'm not sure which one's accurate, but
- 20:06they have what they call squibs. And
- 20:07these squibs are little small explosive
- 20:10devices that they, you know, u basically
- 20:12wire all over your body into the
- 20:15clothing and you usually have a little
- 20:17bit of um protective layer between those
- 20:19swifts and your body and there's some
- 20:21special effects guy that detonates them,
- 20:24right? So, and they're shooting what you
- 20:26call blanks or something like that. And
- 20:28those things would go off pretty much
- 20:30simultaneously as the squibs. And the
- 20:32squibs are are pretty loud. I mean, they
- 20:35do sound like like gunshots and they do
- 20:38have a little they have a little punch
- 20:39to them. So, I got used to that, but it
- 20:42it definitely I never enjoy that. I was
- 20:44always kind of like, "Oh, boy. Here we
- 20:46go again." I did not It was annoying. I
- 20:48got I'm not going to lie. One time they
- 20:50also very loud. I would sometimes put
- 20:52earplugs in so I wouldn't hurt my ears.
- 20:54And at one time I forgot to do that. And
- 20:57I was having a a scene with Mahersula
- 20:59and we were in the Harlem's um paradise
- 21:01in Cottonmouth and we had just I mean it
- 21:04was a scene where I I go in and get shot
- 21:06or whatever and then this the scene
- 21:07continues so it was no cut. So I get
- 21:09shot and then he comes up to me and
- 21:10we're talking and I couldn't hear
- 21:13anything cuz the it was like all I heard
- 21:15was
- 21:17>> it was so loud cuz the squid went off
- 21:19right there and it just I was oh I never
- 21:20did that again. It was not good. So
- 21:23that's why they that's how they do it.
- 21:24But they could have done it in post, you
- 21:25know, with like special effects, but
- 21:27they did it with VFX, but we did it the
- 21:29old school way, and it took a lot longer
- 21:30the way we did it. But, you know,
- 21:32whatever. Yeah.
- 21:34>> Thank you so much for your question.
- 21:36>> Hello. What is your name? Where are you
- 21:38from? And what is your question?
- 21:40>> Hi, I'm Shirro from Hollywood, Florida.
- 21:42>> And I have a question for the three
- 21:44actors. Uh, so my question is, what
- 21:46unusual skill or unexpected life
- 21:48experience has helped you most as an
- 21:50actor?
- 21:51>> Ooh, great question. learning to swim.
- 21:56I learned to swim uh maybe like four or
- 21:58five years prior to Luke Cage and and as
- 22:01luck would have it, a lot of the
- 22:02sequences of him being created in the
- 22:04lab and all that stuff was shot into in
- 22:06a pool and underwater and I've had to
- 22:08swim since then. So I learning to swim
- 22:10was very useful.
- 22:13This is very Danny Ran coded.
- 22:16But actually meditation I think is
- 22:18really good for acting because it gets
- 22:21you to be really present in your body
- 22:23and like listening to the other person.
- 22:26And I think as an actor it's some of the
- 22:28best performances are when someone is
- 22:30apparently doing nothing. So the more
- 22:32that you can just be really present in
- 22:33the experience and listen to whatever
- 22:35this other actor is giving you, uh I
- 22:38think it gives a better performance and
- 22:39and meditation really helps with that.
- 22:41Really helps you be more present.
- 22:43>> I think that too. But I I think
- 22:45enthusiasm um is something that I have
- 22:49had for life and and art and and and the
- 22:53business and acting naturally. I'm kind
- 22:56of born that way. And I think that has
- 22:58ser now that I'm a grownup I can look
- 23:01back and and see like that has served me
- 23:03very well. Um enthusiasm because you
- 23:06know it can be hard. There can be really
- 23:09challenging periods. It could be really
- 23:11challenging shooting circumstances.
- 23:13There's a lot of ups and downs. There's
- 23:15a lot of resilience required because
- 23:18it's not always sunshine and rainbows.
- 23:20It's not always a yes. So, having
- 23:23enthusiasm for what you do um is is is
- 23:26really a a valuable trait.
- 23:29>> Yeah, I would completely agree with
- 23:30that. And I just say the resilience part
- 23:32of that as well with enthusiasm. I think
- 23:34as an actor you have to be resilient,
- 23:36but you can't allow your resilience to
- 23:38harden you either cuz there's a lot of
- 23:40rejection. there's this is all fun but
- 23:42the time there's you know it's es and
- 23:44flows but to have enthusiasm with
- 23:46resilience and passion as well I think
- 23:49those really help go a long way in in
- 23:51this industry
- 23:54>> thank you so much for your question I
- 23:55can't think of a more dramatic way to
- 23:56end it
- 23:58>> hello Spider-Man what is your name
- 24:01>> where are you from which Spider-Man are
- 24:02you and what is your question
- 24:04>> my name is Spider-Man I'm from Queens
- 24:07I'm the I'm the brand new day Spider-Man
- 24:09>> so you're Peter Hi Peter
- 24:11Um, my question is, do you guys think
- 24:14you guys can take on Spider-Man like
- 24:16individually as your characters?
- 24:18>> If I can catch him,
- 24:21>> let's say we're like facing each other
- 24:23one v one.
- 24:24>> If I get my hands on him, you think?
- 24:27>> Yeah, I think so. I I'd go with that. I
- 24:29think if you can pin him down. I think I
- 24:30think
- 24:31>> he's on a run then. No.
- 24:32>> Yeah.
- 24:33>> I think Jessica has super strength and
- 24:36she's I think she could probably take
- 24:38anybody.
- 24:38>> Yeah.
- 24:39>> Right. Yeah,
- 24:41>> you're going to see a bunch of people
- 24:42doing this with their Cali apps open to
- 24:44be like, I bet that Jessica can take
- 24:46Spider-Man at 52%.
- 24:49>> Thank you so much for your question.
- 24:52Hello. What is your name? Where are you
- 24:54from? And what is your question?
- 24:55>> Thank you. Uh, my name is Alejandro. I'm
- 24:57from Orlando.
- 24:59>> Uh, my question is for all three of you,
- 25:01I suppose. I was thinking about how John
- 25:03Bernthal has these character quirks that
- 25:06he incorporates into his characters like
- 25:08let me tell you something or rubbing his
- 25:09head and stuff like that. So what kind
- 25:11of perks do you guys incorporate into
- 25:13your characters? Maybe something that we
- 25:15haven't noticed on the screen but you
- 25:16think of that.
- 25:18>> No, no, I don't do perk I don't do perks
- 25:20for characters. No, I don't do that. I
- 25:23don't want my characters to feel like
- 25:24the character that I'm playing in
- 25:26another project. So I like my characters
- 25:28to be different. So no continuous perks.
- 25:33Yeah, I I I don't think I have any
- 25:35quirks. There's no no kind of go-tos
- 25:37that I do as a way to kind of Yeah,
- 25:40nothing like that. Not that I can think
- 25:41of.
- 25:42>> I think that you find ways to bring
- 25:44something of yourself that makes the
- 25:46character uniquely uniquely yours to all
- 25:49of your characters. Um, I'm so lucky I
- 25:52get to play so many different delicious
- 25:54kinds of characters. Um, but I can roll
- 25:57my eyes like the best of them.
- 26:01All right.
- 26:01>> I'm I'm a world famous meme. I come with
- 26:03the iPhone.
- 26:04>> That's true.
- 26:06>> Thank you so much for your question.
- 26:07>> Can't wait to see you in the suit.
- 26:11>> Hello. What is your name? Where are you
- 26:13from? And what is your question?
- 26:14>> Hi, my name is DJ. I'm from Los Angeles,
- 26:16California, but I've been living in
- 26:18Miami for over 10 years now. Big fan of
- 26:20all you guys. Been watching your shows
- 26:21since they first came out over 10 years
- 26:23ago. Um, I can't imagine anyone else in
- 26:25your roles, um, but in the hypothetical
- 26:28universe that you weren't playing your
- 26:30respective defenders, is there another
- 26:32MCU hero that you would want to be or
- 26:34villain?
- 26:35>> No. No. I'm I'm I'm Danny Rand until I
- 26:39die. I I I get these questions all the
- 26:41time and I I just have so much love for
- 26:43the character that I just couldn't
- 26:45imagine playing any other character in
- 26:48the MCU.
- 26:49>> Yeah, I feel the same way. I think also
- 26:51I think because Jessica had never been
- 26:54played before and I got to originate the
- 26:56character. Um it's just I feel like she
- 27:00is if I had to got to pick any character
- 27:03in the MCU, I would pick her every day
- 27:05all day. I think she's the coolest and I
- 27:08don't think they would really want me
- 27:10for any other character. I think she's
- 27:12like the best and she's the one. I just
- 27:14Yeah.
- 27:15>> Yeah. I I agree. Um totally 100%. I I
- 27:18don't want to really want to do anything
- 27:19other character besides Luke Cage, but I
- 27:21mean, if Marvel wants to back up a truck
- 27:23full of money. I mean, I'm I I could
- 27:24talk.
- 27:26I'm open to discussion, you know, just
- 27:30my arm.
- 27:31>> Yeah. So, send your emails at Marvel.
- 27:33Please pay Mike
- 27:35>> more to play another character
- 27:37>> seven zeros if you want to replace
- 27:38someone else.
- 27:39>> Fine.
- 27:40>> Thank you so much for your question.
- 27:43>> Hi, friend. What is your name? Where are
- 27:45you from? And what is your question? Hi,
- 27:47I'm Benjamin and I'm from uh Miami,
- 27:49Florida. My question for all of you
- 27:51guys, which is your favorite Marvel
- 27:53character growing up?
- 27:56>> Wol Yeah, Wolverine,
- 27:58>> probably. Yeah.
- 28:01>> Yeah.
- 28:02>> It's funny. I I grew up in the UK and
- 28:05Marvel now is massive in the UK. My
- 28:07nephew loves Spider-Man, right? But when
- 28:10I was younger, Marvel wasn't really that
- 28:12big over there. We didn't really have
- 28:14the movies yet. And so I didn't grow up
- 28:16on any kind of superheroes. It wasn't
- 28:18until I got older that it started
- 28:20becoming more uh relevant in the
- 28:22culture.
- 28:24>> I didn't grow up with any comic book
- 28:25access or exposure at all when I was on
- 28:29my farm in Pennsylvania. I was watching
- 28:31Jim Carrey movies.
- 28:33>> I love Jim Carrey when I was
- 28:34>> my
- 28:36Yeah.
- 28:37>> Oh, Billy.
- 28:39>> Those cable guys. Cable guys.
- 28:41>> Wow.
- 28:42>> You didn't get her. You didn't get it.
- 28:44She didn't get Oh, Billy. Pressing this
- 28:47nipple up against the
- 28:49>> Oh, Billy. Do I need to do it? Do I need
- 28:52to actually do it?
- 28:55>> Later. Later. Come to the table.
- 28:58>> You never know where the story is going
- 29:00to go with my culture.
- 29:02>> I love that old belly.
- 29:04>> Also, fun fact, the mask was originally
- 29:06a comic book character. So, that's kind
- 29:09of an answer. Thank you so much for your
- 29:10question.
- 29:12>> Hello, friend. What is your name and
- 29:14where are you from and what is your
- 29:15question?
- 29:16>> Hello, my name is Frank. I'm from Miami,
- 29:18Florida. And I want to make a quick
- 29:21question to all you guys. Uh which which
- 29:24is the most character that you would
- 29:26like to play if you would like to given
- 29:28the opportunity to, you know, to
- 29:30interpret it
- 29:31>> like other universes?
- 29:32>> Yeah, like other universes or genres
- 29:34you'd like to play in
- 29:36>> different universe.
- 29:38>> Any anything?
- 29:39>> Can I just be a rock star? Can I be Can
- 29:41I switch to like a be a a front band of
- 29:43a rock band? That'd be fun.
- 29:44>> Yeah.
- 29:45>> You know, like I want to do that. That'd
- 29:46be fun.
- 29:50>> Like the Indiana Jones universe. If
- 29:52they're ever going to bring that back
- 29:54would be really fun.
- 29:55>> Be cool.
- 29:55>> You know, that's that's always a big
- 29:57Yeah, the kind of adventure traveling
- 29:59the world.
- 29:59>> You give Indiana Jones.
- 30:01>> Yeah. Thank you. Yeah. In for Indiana
- 30:03Jones.
- 30:06>> Yeah. Finn Jones. Indiana Jones.
- 30:10I would love to be like a Disney
- 30:12villain.
- 30:14>> I think that sounds fun.
- 30:17>> Yeah. Like something like real mean.
- 30:19>> Yeah.
- 30:19>> Fabulous.
- 30:20>> But fabulous.
- 30:22>> And and elevated it over the top.
- 30:24>> Yeah. That's that would be fun. That's
- 30:25that's what I wanted to do
- 30:27>> at Disney. Please, please, please,
- 30:28please, please. Thank you so much for
- 30:30your question.
- 30:32>> Hello. What is your name? Where are you
- 30:33from? And what is your question?
- 30:35>> Hi, my name is Mark. I'm from Miami,
- 30:37Florida. And my question is, what what
- 30:40do you feel about bringing your your
- 30:42shows to the MCU? Like from the Netflix
- 30:45now to the MCU, how do you guys feel?
- 30:47It's so great. You know, like we were
- 30:49saying before, it's such a gift to be
- 30:51able to continue playing these
- 30:52characters and that they're so beloved
- 30:56by the fans and and by our by us. And
- 30:59it's it's amazing. It's a gift and we're
- 31:02so we're so fortunate.
- 31:05>> Thank you so much for your question.
- 31:08Hello, Matt Murdoch. What is your name?
- 31:10Where are you from? And what is your
- 31:12question?
- 31:12>> You said it yourself. I'm Matt Murdoch.
- 31:15>> Definitely not Daredevil.
- 31:16>> I'm something of a lawyer myself.
- 31:20My question is though to Mike and
- 31:22Kristen. Would you like to do more
- 31:25mainstream movies? Like example, Mike,
- 31:28you're in Met in Black. Kristen, you're
- 31:31in Big Eyes with Tim Burton. and the
- 31:35Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie.
- 31:37>> I love Sonic. Yeah. So fun. Yeah. You
- 31:40know, it's it's awesome to be able to do
- 31:43everything, a little bit of everything
- 31:44and have variety. In television, you get
- 31:47to spend way more time developing
- 31:49character. There's more real estate. And
- 31:51then films are more of like a big event.
- 31:53I mean, it's all so great. I just, you
- 31:55know, I feel so fortunate to both.
- 31:58>> I I I I like, you know, I think
- 32:02television is a sweet spot for me
- 32:04because I always feel like, you know, to
- 32:06Kristen's point, you spend more time
- 32:08with the character. Films, you get a
- 32:10beginning, a middle, and end. If you
- 32:11stick to landing, great. And if it's if
- 32:13it's good, they will they'll do a sequel
- 32:14or do more or whatever. So, I feel like
- 32:16if you get it right, they'll they'll
- 32:18want more of it. I just feel like, you
- 32:20know, just being practical
- 32:22films usually, especially with economics
- 32:24today, you we're filming in different
- 32:25locations. I love to travel and I love
- 32:27being in great places and and and having
- 32:28that time to be in a place where the
- 32:31location becomes a character as well,
- 32:32but it's not practical for for my
- 32:34lifestyle sometimes. And I think movie
- 32:36actors or people who are always doing
- 32:38movies, they sacrifice a bit. They're
- 32:40never really home and they never really
- 32:41have the same place they can sleep. And
- 32:43with TV, I've been lucky enough to film
- 32:44most of the shows that I've done for the
- 32:46last over a decade has been in New York
- 32:48City and around New York area and I've
- 32:50been able to be home for the most part.
- 32:52And if I'm not there, I'm in LA with my
- 32:54family. So, it does while movies are
- 32:56good and they're fun, sometimes it's not
- 32:58even worth me. I mean, I just I it just
- 33:00depends. I'm not like, "Oh, let me do
- 33:02movies so I can do movies." Cuz it just
- 33:04it comes at a cost and I don't know that
- 33:05it makes sense. So, when the when the
- 33:06time is right, the script is right, and
- 33:08it makes sense, then sure. But I I do
- 33:10love the sweet spot of television and
- 33:12you see a lot of movie actors that going
- 33:13to do television and they're doing their
- 33:15best work because it's the writing's
- 33:16better and you know there's more thought
- 33:18behind it and and I just I just I just
- 33:20I'm a big fan of television but when
- 33:21movies are done well it's it's hard to
- 33:23compete. I I just like where the process
- 33:26of a TV show um because it gives you so
- 33:28many other things you can you can hold
- 33:29on to besides just the idea that you're
- 33:31in a movie. You know,
- 33:34>> it's also in really I mean, both are
- 33:35great again, but with television, you're
- 33:37on it a lot longer. So, you h you
- 33:40develop a real camaraderie with a group
- 33:42of people that your crew becomes like
- 33:45family and you know their kids' names
- 33:46and you have inside jokes and there's
- 33:48something really really fun about that.
- 33:50It's like you're a part of a a little
- 33:52family, a part of like a little
- 33:53subculture and that's a really unique
- 33:55experience. And I also love the pace of
- 33:57it. You have to really be on your toes.
- 33:59Yeah,
- 34:00>> you do work so hard and there's just
- 34:02there's something very electric about
- 34:04it.
- 34:05>> Thank you so much and great to see you
- 34:07back.
- 34:08>> Thank you.
- 34:09>> Thank you so much.
- 34:10>> Hello friend. What is your name and
- 34:12where are you from? And what is your
- 34:13question?
- 34:14>> Hello. My name is Matthew. I'm from
- 34:16Miami, Florida.
- 34:17>> Woo.
- 34:17>> And my question is for all three of you.
- 34:19Um, honestly, um, I was thinking about
- 34:22this for a while. If you guys had to
- 34:25like with your characters in Defenders,
- 34:27if you guys had a dream match like any
- 34:29character from any universe, thinking
- 34:31like Invincible, I'm thinking like um
- 34:34DC, any character like if your
- 34:36characters had to fight any character,
- 34:37which one would it be?
- 34:40>> Uh I want to fight like Aquaman or
- 34:42something like that.
- 34:42>> Yeah.
- 34:43>> Get him out of the water,
- 34:45wear him out.
- 34:48>> You give him some coffee, he'll
- 34:49dehydrate.
- 34:50>> I'm just like going through all of the
- 34:52different universes.
- 34:54He's either passing out or going through
- 34:55his going through his rolodex of
- 34:57characters.
- 34:58>> DC DC.
- 35:00>> I I I love the I don't know if anyone
- 35:01has seen uh the Dark Crystal. It's a Jim
- 35:04Henson.
- 35:05>> You're not going to beat up the Dark
- 35:06Crystal Muppets. Are you?
- 35:08>> Well, the Skeksis I would Skeis are bad
- 35:12dudes.
- 35:12>> Yeah, they are kind of bad.
- 35:13>> Yeah, I love that world.
- 35:14>> That was scary. That that I'm going to
- 35:15watch that was scary.
- 35:17>> Yeah, it's good. And the Netflix did a
- 35:19like a 10 10 episode like reboot and
- 35:21it's fantastic. Really?
- 35:23>> Oh, it's so good. It's I would argue
- 35:25>> is it more intense?
- 35:26>> Um
- 35:27>> like like does it Jim Henson had his
- 35:28thing?
- 35:29>> Oh, it's still Jim Henson. It's
- 35:30>> Well, it's a state obviously cuz it's
- 35:32not
- 35:32>> Right. Right. But it's still the whole
- 35:33company that are doing
- 35:34>> Are they using like the
- 35:35>> animat? Yeah. Animatronics. It's really
- 35:37good. And the story is over 10 episodes.
- 35:39You get deep into
- 35:41>> Yeah. It's not It doesn't have the same
- 35:43feel.
- 35:43>> Should you do it? Should you do it sober
- 35:45or not?
- 35:47>> I mean, that's on you, Mike.
- 35:48>> Okay. Just check in.
- 35:49>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 35:50>> Just check in.
- 35:50>> It's good. It's good either way.
- 35:52>> Wink wink.
- 35:54>> So, something in that world. Probably
- 35:55the Skeksis. Yeah.
- 35:58>> Thank you so much for your question.
- 36:00Hello. What is your name? Where are you
- 36:02from? And what is your question?
- 36:04>> Uh, hi. My name is Benji. I'm from New
- 36:07York City. Uh, and my question is for
- 36:09Kristen. So, uh, you are one of my
- 36:12favorite actresses of all time. You're
- 36:14incredibly gifted. Uh, and
- 36:16>> sorry, what?
- 36:19Um, I think you could play anything. And
- 36:21part of what made me fall in love with
- 36:23you was actually Chloe in Don't Trust
- 36:25the Be Apartment 23.
- 36:28>> Um, and my question is, so going from a
- 36:32character like Chloe to a character like
- 36:34Jessica, how did that affect your
- 36:36process as an actress? And also, who do
- 36:39you think you identify with more as
- 36:41Kristen?
- 36:42>> Oo. Um, oh, doing the the being in
- 36:46apartment 23 was like the most fun I've
- 36:48ever had doing anything ever. And I'm
- 36:51probably a little bit more like that in
- 36:54my real life than I Jessica's way cooler
- 36:56than I am. Um, I've kind like in the
- 36:59beginning especially
- 37:02in the beginning I would always like
- 37:04with Jessica try to make sure I'm
- 37:07squashing all of my natural instincts to
- 37:09make a line funny and just like really
- 37:11just be cool, keep it together because
- 37:15like the [ __ ] in apartment 23 was like
- 37:16a line was like silly string and with
- 37:20Jessica it's like all very contained and
- 37:22cool and powerful and and that it's a
- 37:25that's a challenge for me. It's
- 37:28>> a challenge. Yeah.
- 37:29>> Awesome. That scrunchie is very glowy, I
- 37:31think.
- 37:32>> Yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah.
- 37:34But there's a little bit of both, but
- 37:35they are very different, obviously.
- 37:37>> Inside Kristen, there are two wolves and
- 37:39it's Chloe and Jessica Jones.
- 37:40>> Thank you very much.
- 37:42>> Thank you. Hello. You have a great
- 37:43shirt. What is your name? Where are you
- 37:45from? And what is your question?
- 37:46>> John from Tampa, Florida. I watched
- 37:48Chloe. That was such an incredible show.
- 37:50Why did they have to add? I laughed
- 37:51every single episode. Cracked me off. I
- 37:53love TV.
- 37:54>> Thank you so much. It's so funny. I
- 37:56watched it recently and I was I
- 37:58forgotten how funny it was. The writing
- 38:00was so delicious and hilarious.
- 38:03That said, had it gone on, I wouldn't
- 38:05have played Jessica Jones. So, you know,
- 38:07you got you got to go with the flow.
- 38:09>> Well, the question was um because I'm a
- 38:11huge fan of Jessica Jones as well and
- 38:12when I found out you were going to that
- 38:13I was like, thank God. And then David
- 38:15Tennant on set with you. How much fun
- 38:16was he to work with? And can you tell us
- 38:18your David Tennant story? So David
- 38:19Tennant is so generous and so kind and
- 38:23such a joy to work with and he's so good
- 38:26at acting. I would have so many scenes
- 38:28where I'm just listening to him and I
- 38:31think I was working the hardest in those
- 38:33scenes like watching what he's doing and
- 38:36like you were saying like being present
- 38:38and I was always floored. He looked
- 38:41whatever he was doing just looked like
- 38:42jazz. He would change it every time and
- 38:45he was he also really enjoys the work.
- 38:48He would run to set. They would say
- 38:49like, "Oh, Mr. Tennith, they're ready
- 38:51for you." And he'd run literally. And he
- 38:54was just, you know, an amazing scene
- 38:56partner. You're only ever as good as
- 38:58your scene partner. And he he made me
- 39:02better because he's so wonderful.
- 39:05>> Thank you. Love you.
- 39:06>> Thank you.
- 39:06>> Thank you. Hello. What is your name?
- 39:09Where are you from? And what is your
- 39:10question?
- 39:11>> Hi, my name is Mason. I'm from Miami.
- 39:14>> Uh the question is for all three. If is
- 39:17there a certain story line that each of
- 39:20your characters that you felt was
- 39:21unresolved, maybe a certain comic run
- 39:24that you would like to adapt in in live
- 39:26action that you would like to do?
- 39:29>> Ooh,
- 39:29>> all of them.
- 39:32>> Yes.
- 39:32>> Um I I recently just reread all of the
- 39:35uh the Iron Fist comics again and I I
- 39:38really love all of the interaction with
- 39:40Awson Randall. I think that's really
- 39:41cool. Um also the the living weapon as
- 39:44well. I think I really really enjoyed
- 39:46that that comic run series as well.
- 39:49Also, I love the the recent uh the
- 39:51Undead Iron Fist comic run. I think
- 39:54that's really really fantastic. I love
- 39:55where they're going with that. So,
- 39:57there's a there's a lot of untouched
- 39:59material I think for for Danny Ram to
- 40:02explore.
- 40:05>> The question again, I I was
- 40:09>> I was listening to the stories and I
- 40:10forget the question. I'm like, what's
- 40:11the question? Is is there a certain
- 40:13story line that you would like to that
- 40:15you feel was unresolved that you would
- 40:17maybe like to continue
- 40:18>> that we've already sort of touched base
- 40:21with or just comic books untouched?
- 40:23>> Either one. Either one. Oh, I mean
- 40:28multiple basically between the alias
- 40:31like where we kind of started off and
- 40:33and now that you know having this kid
- 40:35being introduced in the last finale
- 40:39there's just there's there's a lot of
- 40:40story there that could be funny and
- 40:43irreverent but also serious and also
- 40:45relatable between Jessica and Luke and
- 40:48what's going on with the kid and where's
- 40:49the kid and who's got the kid and what's
- 40:51going it's a lot of that. I would love
- 40:52to see what that's about. And I would
- 40:54love to see some sort of Heroes for
- 40:56Hire.
- 40:57>> Yeah.
- 40:57>> I forgot that
- 40:58>> where it's like, you know, me and Danny,
- 41:01you know, hanging out again, doing what
- 41:02we do, and just kind of just being cool
- 41:04with it. You know what I mean? Cuz I do
- 41:05feel like I do feel like we found a nice
- 41:07little little um rhythm and we came on
- 41:08Luke Cage and I thought I'd love to
- 41:10explore that more.
- 41:11>> Yeah,
- 41:11>> 100%.
- 41:12>> Thank you so much for your question.
- 41:14Hello, friend. What is your name? Where
- 41:16are you from? And what is your question?
- 41:18>> Hey, my name is Mendel. I'm from
- 41:20Hollywood, Florida. My question is, you
- 41:23guys have all worked in very different
- 41:25types of shows. Some of them franchise,
- 41:27some of them not. Um, some of them
- 41:30became a franchise after you were no
- 41:32longer on the show. Specifically, Finn,
- 41:34I know you were in Game of Thrones and
- 41:36it became a much larger franchise.
- 41:38>> The Night of Flowers.
- 41:40Yes.
- 41:41So my question is what is the difference
- 41:43in the style of production and in the
- 41:45pressures of casting and actual like
- 41:48working on those shows when working on a
- 41:51larger franchise like Marvel versus
- 41:53working on something that is a smaller
- 41:54project at least in the beginning.
- 41:57Honestly, it's all very similar. I think
- 42:00um the obviously the stakes are higher,
- 42:02the worlds are different, but I think
- 42:04like a a set is a set. You have the same
- 42:07kind of components. You have the same
- 42:08intention from everyone. Everyone wants
- 42:10to tell a story. Everyone's coming
- 42:12together with the best of their
- 42:14creativity to try and bring something to
- 42:16life. So, Game of Thrones was massive.
- 42:20You know, the sets were huge. But going
- 42:22on to something like Iron Fist, it was
- 42:25slightly smaller. But yeah, it it feels
- 42:28very similar. I I I think, you know, the
- 42:31work doesn't change.
- 42:33>> And Kristen, did it feel very different
- 42:35for like Breaking Bad versus something
- 42:38that's more of like a larger franchise
- 42:40that you were a part of?
- 42:42>> You know, Breaking Bad was was a real
- 42:461-hour drama. It was like such a cool
- 42:49show. It was very serious. Um,
- 42:53so that felt like peak for sure when I
- 42:57was there. You're just like doing
- 42:59scenes, just such great material. And
- 43:02then, you know, I think the Marvel stuff
- 43:04felt a little bigger cuz it was in terms
- 43:06of budget and stunts. Um, it's a little
- 43:09bit more of a spectacle. Um, but very
- 43:13similar approaches. you know, maybe you
- 43:14have like one or two days longer per
- 43:17episode on something like Jessica Jones
- 43:19or the Defenders versus Breaking Bad
- 43:21where you have eight days an episode.
- 43:23Um, it just depends on the budget and
- 43:25the scope, but the the work and the
- 43:27departments are all are all pretty much
- 43:29the same. Unless you're on a kids movie,
- 43:31then it's very different.
- 43:32>> How so?
- 43:33>> So, like Sonic, for example, is like
- 43:36giant giant giant sets and soundstages
- 43:38and big stuff. And so that that and you
- 43:42know special effects that's a little
- 43:43different.
- 43:44>> Very cool. Thank you so much.
- 43:46>> Thank you for your question. Hello UA
- 43:48student. What is your name? Where are
- 43:49you from? What's your quirk and what is
- 43:51your question?
- 43:53>> Uh Robert from Miami.
- 43:56>> I didn't even think of a quirk.
- 43:58>> Just what's your question? But um first
- 44:01I want to thank you guys for really
- 44:03holding down Marvel during the time
- 44:05where DC was doing all of their shows
- 44:08and you were what we had for Marvel. So
- 44:11want to give you guys thanks for that.
- 44:13Uh second the question is for all of
- 44:15you. I want to know with your entire
- 44:18timeline from the show, is there any
- 44:21specific storyline that you wish would
- 44:25have gone a different way that you had a
- 44:27different chance to explore a different
- 44:29take on something that happened?
- 44:35>> It's a great question. I mean, I at the
- 44:37time there were many. Now I can't think
- 44:39of any.
- 44:44>> Yeah. Yeah. No, I can't I Yeah, I don't
- 44:47I I'm a big believer of like what what
- 44:49comes your way is meant to come your way
- 44:51and you deal with it as you need to in
- 44:53the moment. I'm I'm not really into like
- 44:55looking back and thinking, oh, what
- 44:57things could we have changed?
- 44:58>> Not necessarily saying that there was
- 45:00anything wrong with what happened. Just
- 45:02like, oh, you know what, maybe it would
- 45:04have been cool to explore this different
- 45:06avenue. I I think a continuation of the
- 45:07series, you know, I think for for Iron
- 45:10Fist and it's like, you know, more
- 45:11Heroes for Hire. Let's see where Danny's
- 45:14gone, you know, when he goes to Asia.
- 45:15Let's see what's going on with with all
- 45:17of those. It a lot of our shows there
- 45:19was so much runway left. And because the
- 45:22shows were were all cancelled. Um I
- 45:25think there's a lot more material, a lot
- 45:26more story characterization to tell.
- 45:28Yeah, I would have liked to have seen I
- 45:31remember it being kind of jarring going
- 45:32from Jessica Jones to Luke Cage because
- 45:35the character was in in um introduced in
- 45:38Jessica Jones, but then going to Luke
- 45:40Cage was a different world, different
- 45:41part of town, different writers,
- 45:44different vibe, everything was different
- 45:45and I wish there was some more attention
- 45:48paid to the transition of the character
- 45:50cuz it was like well you're just there
- 45:52now and there's this I think I mentioned
- 45:53her and and a couple like I mentioned
- 45:56talked about her this girl downtown or
- 45:58in Hell's Kitchen, but that was kind of
- 46:00it. And I wish it was just more like,
- 46:03you know, like what like it just, you
- 46:05know what I mean? Like I wish it was
- 46:06just something about the transition,
- 46:08even if it had been like me meeting her,
- 46:09meeting, you know, Jessica Jones,
- 46:11Kristen coming into Harlem at some point
- 46:14to look for me early on in the series,
- 46:17just to see that there was that we're in
- 46:19the same city. It just felt so strange.
- 46:21cohesive a bit more cohesiveness between
- 46:23all of the shows and chronologically
- 46:26just some that that would have been
- 46:28better for me just but you know it is
- 46:30what it is but I just thought that was
- 46:31something that would have been more
- 46:32attention paid to without sort of
- 46:34reinventing the wheel to do it literally
- 46:36a scene would have been fine you know
- 46:39>> thank you so much for your question now
- 46:42friends before we get to our next
- 46:44question and perhaps this is fortuitous
- 46:46this is going to have to be our last
- 46:48question I'm sorry for everyone who's
- 46:50been standing I hope your 10,000 steps
- 46:52was worth it. I encourage you to sit
- 46:54down because I'm not a nice person and
- 46:55I'm not going to add in another one on
- 46:57the end. If you want to see our lovely
- 46:59folks up here, they're so friendly.
- 47:01They're so beautiful. They smell great.
- 47:02They're along the far wall. So, go and
- 47:04see them. Ask your question to their
- 47:06face. Tell them how great they smell and
- 47:08that I'm not being a weirdo about it.
- 47:10>> So, beautiful friend in our cosplay.
- 47:12What is your name? Where are you from
- 47:14outfit?
- 47:14>> And why does this deserve to be the last
- 47:16question?
- 47:17>> I love that you've got the skateboard as
- 47:18well. Really rocking it. I literally
- 47:20just got here. I stayed in your far away
- 47:22parking lot.
- 47:23>> Hell yeah. Dressed like that?
- 47:24>> Uh yeah, dressed like this. It was
- 47:26>> Hell yeah.
- 47:27>> Very cool.
- 47:27>> Are you hot, man?
- 47:29>> It's really hot out.
- 47:30>> I was going to say you Yeah, it's hot.
- 47:32>> Good for you. You got here, though.
- 47:33>> I got here. I got here. Okay, so uh
- 47:36Miguel, I was born in Mexico, raised in
- 47:39Mexico 8 years, then raised here the
- 47:41rest of the time in Broward, Miami. Um
- 47:44so my question is to make it a good one,
- 47:46I had to choose from like four. I wrote
- 47:48down a lot. I was going to ask a simple
- 47:50one, but I'm pretty sure we all know the
- 47:51answer uh to the question of is Tallow a
- 47:55capital city of heaven. I'm pretty sure
- 47:57they very clearly insinuated that it is,
- 48:00which I'm excited for cuz whether it's
- 48:02seven capital cities, maybe more, maybe
- 48:04less remaining after all that happened.
- 48:06Who knows?
- 48:07>> You're really flexing your nerd cred
- 48:08here and I respect that. Okay. So,
- 48:11borrow that question. Easy question.
- 48:13Cooler question for Finn. I think an
- 48:15exciting question is with the release of
- 48:18uh Eyes of Wakanda episode 3
- 48:20specifically.
- 48:22>> Um now there is a third option for um
- 48:26who uh Jessica Henwick's character is
- 48:29the descendant of cuz they did mention
- 48:32something like that. Um have you talked
- 48:34to Jessica Henwick? I know you guys
- 48:36don't make the decision, but just out of
- 48:38excitement, like, have you talked to her
- 48:40like, "Hey, like there's a new option."
- 48:41Um, do you do you think it would be
- 48:43great for uh Gerani to be like your
- 48:46ancestor, or were you leaning uh Wu AI,
- 48:50the pirate Iron Fist, or even Deeper Cut
- 48:53Fan Feay, the very first Iron Fist?
- 48:55>> Well, thanks for doing the hard work for
- 48:57all of the journalists in the audience
- 48:59as well with this question. This is
- 49:01going to be the headline. I I I
- 49:02personally love the the Bui the Pirate
- 49:05Bay uh Iron Fist. I think incredibly
- 49:08badass. I I can't I haven't had that
- 49:09conversation with Jess, so I don't know
- 49:12who she would pick. I get the sense that
- 49:14she would there's a very there is a
- 49:16similarity between just Jess's nature.
- 49:18She's a very adventurous uh very bold
- 49:21person and I can see her being a
- 49:24descendant of of her. Um but yeah, no,
- 49:27that's a good question. I should I
- 49:28should call her up tonight and ask her
- 49:30about it. like being like a pirate
- 49:33queen.
- 49:34>> Who who wouldn't want to be a pirate
- 49:35queen?
- 49:35>> Exactly. And it's based on like a real
- 49:37pirate queen, I think. For
- 49:38>> Oh, is it really?
- 49:39>> So, with the realism of your show, I
- 49:41feel like going into flashbacks of that
- 49:43would be really
- 49:44>> That would be really cool. Yeah. Yeah,
- 49:45that would be really cool. Yeah. Oh, I
- 49:47appreciate the question. I appreciate uh
- 49:48how much you go into it. It's
- 49:50>> Florida Supercon 2027 will have the
- 49:52answer.
- 49:53>> Yeah.
- 49:54>> Thank you so much for joining US TODAY.
- 49:55GIVE IT UP ONE MORE TIME FOR the
- 49:56defenders.
- 50:02One more time, Florida Supercon, make
- 50:04some noise for the cast.
