6:44the house of God. Aren't we thankful to
6:47be in his presence tonight? Thank you so
6:50much for being faithful to the house of
6:51God. I know that our youth are next
6:53door. Our youth and our college and
6:55career having their service next door. I
6:58want to pray for them. I want to pray
6:59that God blesses them, speaks to them.
7:03Uh man, we've seen such a change in this
7:05church since the young people have been
7:07having their own service. It's bringing
7:09such growth uh to them. And so I'm
7:12thankful for that. I miss them out here,
7:14but I'm seeing so much growth that I
7:16don't want to mess it up. And uh so
7:18let's pray for them. Let's pray that God
7:19speaks, that they're anointed, and then
7:22pray for this service right here in this
7:24main sanctuary. Jesus, dear Lord, thank
7:26you for the opportunity to be in your
7:28presence. Thank you for the opportunity
7:29to be in your house. We magnify you. We
7:32lift you up. We praise your name. We're
7:35here to worship you. Speak to us in the

13:35There is a
13:38tremendous story
13:40or we use one verse of the story but
13:45Jeremiah
13:47chapter 29 and verse 11 for I know the
13:50thoughts that I think towards you
13:52thoughts of peace and not of evil to
13:55give you an expected end.
13:57And if you read the context of that
14:01passage of scripture, you'll realize
14:04that they are being taken or they are
14:06captive
14:09in Babylon.
14:11And the Lord's letting them know that
14:13this is just a season.
14:18I want you to know that I have not set
14:21this up for your evil,
14:23>> but it's going to end up being for your
14:25good.
14:27And so what needs to happen for some of
14:29you is you've got to make sure that
14:31you've got heaven's perspective.
14:34And do not judge your story
14:38in the middle.
14:42When you're right in the middle OF THE
14:43MESS, YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND THAT I'VE
14:46GOT AN EXPECTED END.
14:49That this THIS IS JUST A TEMPORARY
14:51STATE. THE ISSUES THAT I'M GOING
14:54THROUGH, THE FINANCIAL STRUGGLES THAT
14:56I'VE GOT. THIS IS TEMPORARY. DON'T YOU
14:58ALLOW YOURSELF TO JUDGE YOUR STORY IN
15:01THE MIDDLE.

15:37especially I I just want to uh
15:41I want to mention something. I I had two
15:43things on my mind. One is you don't
15:45realize the power of the culture that is
15:48here.
15:50Culture takes time.
15:53>> When you say something's cultured,
15:56it takes a little time. It takes some
15:58aging.
16:00>> And what happened is there were people
16:01who decided to put aside what they
16:04wanted in life.
16:06>> And put God first
16:08>> and spend their time creating culture.
16:13And so what what you've benefited with
16:16over these period of years is there is a
16:18culture here that is different than
16:21anywhere else.
16:23>> That's what attracted you here.
16:26>> It's cuz things are happening.
16:28>> There's not empty nights,
16:30>> but there's things taking place almost
16:32every night of the week.
16:35>> And and it's healthy things. Your kids
16:37aren't involved in things that will
16:39destroy them,
16:41>> but there's healthy things that they'll
16:43remember for the rest of their life.
16:46>> That's right.
16:47>> And I just want you to I want you to
16:49come back to the realization of what you
16:51have tonight.
16:53>> Maybe it's just another weekn night
16:55service. It's just a Monday and you just
16:57slid back in here one more time.

17:02Maybe you just you just realize that it
17:05it man, we're just used to this. This is
17:08normal. This is this is not normal.
17:11>> This amount of people in this town is
17:13not normal.
17:16>> What you feel in this building on a
17:17Monday night is not normal.
17:20>> What we're going to feel when we worship
17:22in just a minute as they sing is not
17:24normal. The challenge that will be
17:27issued to your spirit by the man of God
17:29tonight is not normal. Don't let tonight

24:00That's one thing that just cannot The
24:02devil cannot overcome people that keep
24:05coming to church.
24:08>> I'm just telling you, he cannot destroy
24:11people
24:12>> that just keep showing up.
24:15That's one of the things the devil can't
24:17handle.
24:18>> When you keep showing up,
24:21>> he can't do anything with that.
24:25>> I've never seen anybody backslide that
24:27kept showing up.
24:30>> You can't quit if you keep showing up.
24:37>> Those things two things don't work
24:39together. The only way you can quit is
24:40you got to keep you got to stop coming.

24:44>> Hallelujah. He don't know what to do
24:46with faithful people.
24:48>> Revelations chapter 3, we're going to
24:51read verses 1-6.
24:53I'm continuing a series that I'm doing
24:56on the uh the seven churches of
24:59Revelation.
25:01And this week, I I I want to get to
25:04those positive churches. We've been
25:06doing all the negative ones. This week
25:09is the dead church.
25:12But I can't change the word. It is what
25:14it is.
25:17>> And every one of them represent the
25:19condition of churches in the last days.
25:20[music]
25:22>> Aren't you thankful that the last few
25:24you hadn't been a part of that? You
25:25hadn't fit in with it.
25:30Revelations chapter 3 verses 1-6. And
25:34unto the angel, everybody say that's the
25:37[music] pastor.
25:41Y'all play that angel music.
25:45Unto the angel of the church at Sardis,
25:48right? These things saith he that hath
25:51seven spirit, the seven spirits of God,
25:54and the seven stars. I know thy works,
25:57that thou hast a name
25:59that thou livest
26:02and art dead.
26:04You're not living up to your reputation.
26:08Be watchful and strengthen the things
26:10which remain
26:13that are ready to die.
26:16Goodness.
26:18He says you're all you're already dead.
26:22There's a few things that's still alive.
26:24You better get a hold of them
26:27or they're going to die, too.
26:29For I have not found thy works perfect
26:32before God.
26:34Oh, I don't want that report. Do you
26:38remember [music] therefore how thou hast
26:39received and heard and hold fast and
26:43repent? [music]
26:45You know, it's amazing how many times
26:48that he's told these churches, you
26:50better hang on to what you have. Don't
26:52be changing stuff.
26:55>> Hold fast
26:57to what's already there. Don't let it
26:59go.
27:01If therefore thou shalt not watch, I
27:04will come as a thief, and thou shalt
27:07know not not know what hour I come upon
27:10thee.
27:12Thou hast a a few names even in Sardis,
27:15which has not defiled their garments,
27:19and they shall walk with me in white,
27:21[music]
27:22for they are worthy." He said, "There's
27:23some in your church
27:26that stayed alive. They've stayed right
27:28while others have strayed.
27:32He that overcomemeth the same shall be
27:34clothed in white raignment. And I will
27:36not blot out his name from the book of
27:38life, but I will confess his name before
27:41my father and before his angels.
27:45He that hath an ear, let him hear what
27:47the spirit saith unto the churches.
27:50Would you lift your hands and ask the
27:52Holy Ghost to speak? Jesus. Dear Lord,
27:55I'm asking you to talk to us in this
27:58house in the next few minutes. We give
28:01you praise. We give you glory. We honor
28:03you, Lord. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

28:12Sardis was not an unknown church.
28:16Jesus said, "You have a name and you
28:18have a reputation.
28:20People have heard about you.
28:23You know, this that's one of the things
28:24that disturbs me about Pinerove
28:27Pentecostal Church.
28:30I I want to make sure I want to make
28:33sure that we're remaining what we are.
28:38>> I I'm going to tell you, it it disturbs
28:40me the people that don't find it
28:42necessary to be at church.
28:45It's disturbing to me the people in our
28:49congregation that I get a report that
28:51says they come to Sunday only.
28:55I don't like that.
28:59I don't know that how that's happening
29:01under my watch.
29:03>> I guess it's been a long time since I
29:04preached on faithfulness.
29:10>> Actually, I mention it every service.
29:15I can't do anything with people that
29:17take their salvation into their own
29:18hands.
29:21>> I'm not going to answer for people that
29:23take their salvation in their own hands.
29:25I'm only going to answer for what I have
29:27preached.
29:31>> I'm only going to answer for what I've
29:33preached or what I've not preached. I
29:34can't answer for what you take that
29:38message and turn it into.
29:43I I I got to looking at uh some things
29:46today that disturbed me. The the
29:49Bara Pew reports
29:52that the average American Christian,
29:56now listen to what I just said, the
29:59average American Christian, the average
30:01American that calls themselves a
30:04bornagain Christian
30:10spends 1% of their week at
30:18That's that's disturbing to me.
30:221% of their week
30:26is spent at church.
30:29Now listen to what I'm telling you. The
30:31average American Christian when their
30:33life is over
30:36will have spent 5% of their life at
30:40church.
30:43And you wonder how this is changing to
30:46not no longer being a Christian nation.
30:51>> The very people who call themselves
30:53Christians is not prioritizing the house
30:56of God.
31:01>> Those are disturbing numbers to me.
31:08The average American that calls
31:09themselves Christian spend 1% of their
31:12week at church.
31:16If the average
31:19apostolic Pentecostal
31:22was at church, two services on Sunday,
31:27one service on midweek, and then came to
31:30one extracurricular activity
31:34at church.
31:36What that means is they came to church
31:38Sunday morning, Sunday night,
31:42midweek service,
31:44and then came to a prayer meeting or
31:46brought their kids to youth service or
31:49came to Bible quizzing of something of
31:51that nature.
31:55That would only average, are you
31:58listening to me? to 5%
32:02of a person's week.
32:08That's eight hours
32:11of church attendance
32:13in a week.
32:16It takes 16 hours,
32:21almost 17
32:23to equal 10% a tithe of your time.
32:32The average American, according to
32:35statistics, national statistics, the
32:38average American has five hours a day.
32:44You listening to me? They have five
32:47hours a day of leisure time to do
32:51exactly what they want to do.
32:54That's subtracting sleep and work.
32:58The average American has five hours a
33:01day to do what they want to do with. The
33:03average American spends three hours a
33:06day watching television.
33:10The average American, according to
33:13national statistics,
33:15spends three hours a day consuming
33:18television.
33:20That's over 20 hours a week that they
33:25spend before a television.
33:29And the average apostolic spends eight
33:32hours at church.
33:34How on earth
33:37do you expect the thing that you spend
33:40the least amount of time with to have
33:43the greatest impact on your life?
33:47[applause]
33:50Folks, it just can't happen.
33:54>> It just doesn't work that way.
34:05>> Statistically, it cannot happen.
34:10>> Now, this was not the way it worked in
34:12history.
34:14What brought us to where we are as an
34:17apostolic movement is not what we're
34:19passing to the next generation.
34:24How many of you have had the Holy Ghost
34:26been an apostolic for over 20 years?
34:28Raise your hand. I want you to wave your
34:31hand at me. If you've been in Pentecost
34:32for over 20 years,
34:37I don't know what percentage that is of
34:39this congregation.
34:41Just hold your hand up one more time.
34:42Let me just look.
34:45[snorts]
34:47That's about half of the outside. Just
34:49hold your hand up.
34:51That's about a little over half of this
34:54group. Less than half of this group.
34:57Keep your hand up. Been Pentecost over
34:5920 years. That's less than half of this
35:03group. Less than half of this section,
35:06these two sections.
35:09So about 40%
35:11of this congregation according to who's
35:14holding their hands up has had the Holy
35:16Ghost for over 20 years. So 40% of this
35:19group. So what I want to know from the
35:2140% of you is how many of you remember
35:25when we had revival
35:28five nights a week? Raise your hand.
35:34That's about 40% of this group.
35:37remembers when we had church
35:40five nights a week. How many of you
35:43remember when that happened several
35:45times a year? In other words, at least
35:49half the year
35:52we were in church six services a week.
35:55Raise your hand because that was five
35:57nights a week and twice on Sunday.
36:04The reason I bring that to your
36:06attention
36:08is that's what got us to where we are.
36:17>> We were in church. We were in the house
36:19of God
36:24six. If the average service averaged two
36:28hours,
36:30and they didn't back then,
36:33we had church three and four hours back
36:35then.
36:38I remember many nights getting home in
36:4010 and 11 o'clock at night
36:44because the preacher would preach,
36:46"Scare the living daylights out of you."
36:54Until people were laying in the altars,
36:58weeping and crying, trembling, scared to
37:01death they were going to go to hell
37:02before the night was out.
37:07And we laid in hours altars crying and
37:10parents would tell kids, "We got to we
37:11got to GO HOME." NO, I CAN'T GO HOME. I
37:13can't go home. I'm going to go to hell.
37:18I'm not through praying.
37:21I'm just telling you the way it was. And
37:22you you know what you can do? You can
37:24condemn that. You can make fun of that.
37:26But guess what? Look what's here.
37:33Look what that produced.
37:36You can have your podcast and condemn
37:39it.
37:41>> You can let bitter ex Pentecostals make
37:44fun of it.
37:47>> But look at where they are
37:49>> and look at where the church is.
37:52[applause]
37:56This church is here because there was a
37:58generation that was serious about living
38:00for God.
38:02>> There was a generation that wasn't
38:04trying to figure out how they could cut
38:06more church out. They were trying to
38:08figure out how they could fit more
38:09church in.
38:15>> And you're here today. And this church
38:18is here today. And these lights are on
38:20today.
38:24Hey, I look, it's Monday night. I'm
38:27gonna preach to you.
38:32[applause]
38:33>> I just
38:35I just went through the tithing reports
38:37to sign them for another quarter.
38:40I want you to know our new converts, our
38:42people over the last five years that's
38:44gotten the Holy Ghost, it doesn't matter
38:46if they're teenagers or if they're 50
38:49years old,
38:51brother, they paying tithes like
38:52clockwork. You know who don't pay tithes
38:54good is all y'all's kids.
39:00I'm going to tell you something.
39:02If the if the 20somes that grew up in
39:05this church, so they take it for
39:07granted,
39:10If your parents paid tithes like you do,
39:13we'd have to shut this place down. We
39:15couldn't afford to operate.
39:18>> It's not the new converts.
39:21It's the newlyweds of the people that
39:25were in this church. It's your kids.
39:30>> It's obvious by the way they pay tithe
39:32that they think all this just owed to
39:34them.
39:38Now, the people that just got the Holy
39:40Ghost, their counterparts that's in
39:41their 20s that's received the Holy
39:43Ghost, buddy, they love this place.
39:47>> They pay in ti because they're thankful
39:49for it. They see what happens to people
39:51that don't grow up in the church.
39:55>> They don't want drugs and alcohol in the
39:57world and all that. They're they're
39:58thankful for this place.
40:09What I'm telling you is if we raise a
40:11generation
40:13that does not appreciate the house of
40:15God,
40:16>> if we raise a generation that thinks
40:19that you organize your life and then you
40:21try to fit some church in, you see, it's
40:24all about priority.
40:27>> How do you do it? How do you operate? Do
40:30you put the church in first
40:33>> and its first priority and then you
40:36figure out what fits around the church
40:38or do you live your life and if you can
40:40fit some church in, you do
40:47>> because I'm telling you what what
40:49brought the apostolic movement to here
40:52was not people that prior prioritize
40:54everything else and then see if they can
40:57afford to pay tithes.
40:59It's not people that buy their fancy
41:01shoes and buy their fancy clothes and
41:03drive their nice cars and then hope they
41:05can pay some ties when everything else
41:06is paid. It's the people that pay their
41:08ties first.

41:19>> It's not people that that
41:22have all the extracurricular activities
41:23and they hope they can fit some church
41:25in. It's the people that church is first
41:28in their life
41:30and then everything else has to fit in
41:32around the church.
41:35>> That's what brought us to where we are.
41:38That's why I'm in the church. That's why
41:40you're in the church. You're in the
41:41church because Jesus Christ and the Holy
41:45Ghost was the center of your parents'
41:48life.
41:51>> That's why you're here.
41:52>> That's why this church is here. That's
41:54why these lights are on. That's why this
41:56building is here because someone made
41:59the church number one.
42:02And if they don't, none of this would be
42:04these these pews wouldn't be here
42:07because no one would have paid for them.
42:09These lights wouldn't be on because no
42:11one would be paying the electric bill.
42:13What brought us here was people that
42:15made the church number one.
42:21Now, this church had the reputation.
42:26Well, what was Jesus saying?
42:29Essentially, what Jesus was saying was
42:31the same thing I'm saying tonight. There
42:33was a generation that built a reputation
42:38that the church was alive. But a
42:41generation came along that didn't do
42:43what their forefathers did. And so
42:46therefore, they were still living on the
42:48reputation of mama and daddy, but they
42:50changed the plans. They didn't pay
42:51tithe, pray, come to prayer meeting,
42:53come to church like mom and daddy did.
42:55So the church died while living on the
42:58reputation of the former generation.
43:03>> I'm going to tell you something. A
43:04church can have a beautiful building
43:06that mom and daddy built, but be dead
43:08for this generation. It can have
43:10talented musicians and be dead. It can
43:12have great preaching, crowds, money,
43:16history, a history OF REVIVAL AND STILL
43:20BE DEAD. [applause]
43:23Yesterday's reputation can't sub
43:26substitute today's anointing.
43:30>> I thank God for every revival we had in
43:32the past. I thank go God for every
43:35prayer meeting that we had in the past.
43:37I'm thankful for every prayer that God
43:39answered and every miracle he worked and
43:42every soul that received THE HOLY GHOST
43:44AND EVERY VICTORY GOD HAS GIVEN this
43:46church. BUT WE CANNOT LIVE TODAY ON WHAT
43:49HAPPENED EVEN FIVE YEARS AGO.
43:53[cheering]
43:56>> One of the strongest truths in the story
43:59of of Sardis is this. A church is only
44:03spiritually alive if its people are
44:06spiritually alive.
44:10>> This building don't pray prayers.
44:14>> These pews don't shout and dance.
44:18A platform don't carry burdens.
44:23>> A church lives when the people who make
44:26up that church are in constant contact
44:29with God.
44:34You know, you can maintain a long an
44:36organization long after it's lost its
44:38experience.
44:41>> You can keep a schedule. You can open
44:43the doors. You can sing the songs. You
44:45can con conduct services.
44:48But spiritual life cannot be
44:51manufactured ultimately down the road by
44:54an organization.
44:58You can organize activity, but only God
45:01gives life.
45:03>> That's why prayer matters so much.
45:06Prayer is not an accessory that's hung
45:09on an apostolic church. It is the
45:12circulation. It is the breathing. It is
45:14the lifeblood. It It's what connects us
45:17to THE SOURCE OF ALL LIFE.
45:22That's why prayer rooms in a church
45:24matter more than the service does.
45:28>> IT MATTERS THAT MEN AND WOMEN arrive
45:31early to pray in a prayer room.
45:35>> You know what? I I'm going to get bold
45:38because I have no choice but to
45:42>> You're NOT REALLY A PART OF THIS church
45:44if you don't come to the prayer room.
45:48You're just a frequent guest.
45:54>> If you don't come to the prayer room,
45:56you're not carrying anything. You're
45:57riding.
46:00>> Glad you're here. Hope you enjoy the
46:02ride, but you're not the engine.
46:06>> You know what's driving this thing.
46:10>> Somebody said, "Well, that's bold,
46:11Brother Copeland." Well, you're bold to
46:12be a part of this church and not help us
46:14carry it.
46:16You're awful bold to just write yourself
46:18out of the requirements and just say,
46:20"Well, I I just ride. I don't I
46:25>> don't mean to be unkind, but there's
46:26been people like you all along." That's
46:28the same people that don't tip in
46:29restaurants.
46:36>> I love you, but you society don't carry
46:39you.
46:43If you're a part of the church, you know
46:45where the prayer room is. You call this
46:47your church. You ought to be there
46:48helping us stoke the fire.
46:50>> Nobody appreciates someone that sits
46:53around the fire, warms by the fire, but
46:56won't help gather wood.

47:03>> You say, "WHY WOULD YOU PREACH LIKE
47:05THIS?" BECAUSE THIS CHURCH IS going
47:07somewhere and you're training people.
47:11YES, SIR.
47:13>> YOU'RE TRAINING A GROUP THAT THE PRAYER
47:15ROOM AIN'T IMPORTANT. AND THAT'S WHAT
47:17MAKES A CHURCH DEAD WHEN IT USED TO BE
47:20ALIVE. THAT'S WHAT KILLS A CHURCH. A
47:22CHURCH DOES NOT LIVE BECAUSE A CHURCH UH
47:25THE SERVICE. A CHURCH LIVES BECAUSE OF
47:28THE PRAYER ROOM. [cheering]

47:33>> HEY, I know that's not getting a lot of
47:35response,
47:36>> but somewhere a preacher CAN'T PREACH
47:39FOR ENTERTAINMENT. SOMEWHERE YOU GOT TO
47:41GET DOWN TO WHERE THE RUBBER MEETS the
47:43road. AND IF YOU'RE A PART OF PINE GIRL
47:45PENTECOSTAL CHURCH, YOU OUGHT TO BE IN
47:46THE PRAYER ROOM.

47:53>> YES, SIR. YES, SIR. YES, SIR. YES,
47:57MA'AM. YOU OUGHT TO BE IN THE PRAYER
47:59ROOM. THE PRAYER ROOM MATTERS. MEN AND
48:02WOMEN ARRIVING EARLY TO PRAY MATTERS.
48:08>> It matters more than the songs that are
48:09being sung.
48:11>> It matters when there's a weekly prayer
48:13meeting. AND IF YOU'RE A PART OF PINE
48:15GROVE, YOU OUGHT TO BE AT IT.
48:20>> Let me tell you what you're doing.
48:22You're voting one or two ways.
48:26>> Well,
48:31I don't know if it's Holy Ghost or mad.
48:33I hope it's Holy Ghost,
48:36>> but I'm just telling you, you're voting
48:37for one of two things. You're either
48:39voting to kill this church,
48:41>> or you're voting to keep it alive.
48:44>> You're on one side or the other. If
48:47you're the ones that that just just
48:49write yourself out of the necess
48:50necessary to come to Wednesday night or
48:53midweek prayer, you say, "Well, I just
48:56don't come to midweek prayer. I'm just
48:57too busy with my life. You're creating
49:00children and grandchildren and you're
49:02creating a lifestyle that makes a
49:04apostolic church a denominal church.
49:08>> It's a church that in 20 years will be
49:10dead while still having Pentecost on the
49:12door. Because coming to church on
49:15midweek and coming to church on Sunday
49:17is not what keeps a church alive. PRAYER
49:19MEETING IS WHAT KEEPS A CHURCH ALIVE.
49:21PRAYER BEFORE SERVICE IS WHAT KEEPS a
49:24church alive. [applause]
49:31And you say, "Well, I just can't be
49:32there. My schedule won't allow it." God
49:34knows.
49:37>> It's not up for me to for up to me to
49:38judge that. But God knows.
49:43>> And somebody said, "Why are you
49:44preaching like this?" Because it's
49:45absolutely necessary.
49:48>> There are churches dying all over this
49:51nation. this nation is turning into into
49:55uh England and and it it it saddens me.
49:59I I I I could not believe I I went to we
50:03took a trip to England last year
50:06and we we some of them we couldn't go in
50:09because they were turned into bars.
50:11But churches all over England
50:15are being bought by libraries,
50:18pubs, nightclubs,
50:21restaurants
50:23because England no more no longer is
50:26interested in being a Christian nation.
50:28They're no longer interested interested.
50:30But at the same time all that's going
50:31on, guess what else is going on? The
50:33Muslim world is taking it completely
50:35over. They're being building temples
50:37everywhere.
50:40And let me just ask you this. Did the
50:42Holy Ghost fall in a church service
50:45in the book of Acts?
50:49>> Did it Did the Holy Ghost fall in the
50:51book of Acts while the choir was
50:52singing?
50:54>> Did the Holy Ghost fall in Acts the 2
50:56chapter while the preacher was
50:58preaching?
51:00>> No. The Holy Ghost fell in the book of
51:02Acts in a prayer meeting.
51:06>> That's when it fell. The most apostolic
51:09thing a church does is pray.
51:13>> And that is what a growing portion of
51:15this church has started stopped coming
51:17to.
51:20>> You stopped coming to the prayer room
51:22and you've stopped coming stopped coming
51:24to to midweek prayer service.
51:28And I'm preaching like this because I
51:30love you
51:31>> and I love your family and I love your
51:33children. And I'm telling you, YOU'RE
51:35NOT GOING TO WANT WHAT YOU HAVE WHEN YOU
51:38GET WHAT YOU'VE GOT.
51:43AND YOU'RE THE VERY ONE IN 20 YEARS
51:46THAT'LL BE SAYING IT JUST THE CHURCH
51:47JUST AIN'T WHAT IT USED TO BE. WELL,
51:49PINE GROVE JUST AIN'T I REMEMBER BACK.
51:51YOU'RE THE VERY ONE THAT VOTED AGAINST
51:53WHAT WE HAVE. YOU'RE THE VERY ONE THAT
51:55STARTED VOTING WITH YOUR FEET.
51:59IF YOU LOVE YOUR FAMILY AND YOU LOVE
52:01YOUR FUTURE, YOU KNOW THE ONLY HOPE
52:04YOU'VE GOT IS IF GOD COMES QUICKLY. IF
52:06HE CARRIES ANOTHER 20 YEARS, YOU WON'T
52:08WANT WHAT YOU'RE TURNING THIS CHURCH
52:10INTO. YOU BETTER COME BACK TO FAMILY
52:12PRAYER. YOU BETTER COME BACK TO MIDWEEK
52:15PRAYER. YOU BETTER START MAKING THE
52:16PRAYER ROOM A PRIORITY. THIS CHURCH IS
52:20BUILT ON PRAYER.
52:22IT'S BUILT ON PRAYER. IT'S BUILT ON
52:24PRAYER.
52:27YOU SAY, "I don't believe that. I
52:28believe it's built on the on the the
52:31word." You would be wrong.
52:35>> Because only praying people can rightly
52:38interpret the word.
52:41>> You can't rightly receive the word
52:43unless you're praying. It takes THE
52:45PRAYER ROOM TO PUT YOU IN A POSITION.
52:47THAT'S WHY THIS PREACHING IS MAKING SOME
52:49OF YOU. THE ONES THAT I'M MAKING YOU MAD
52:51IS THE ONES THAT DIDN'T COME PRAY. IF
52:54THIS MESSAGE IS RUBBING YOU WRONG, IT'S
52:56BECAUSE YOU WEREN'T IN THE PRAYER ROOM.
52:57NOBODY THAT'S IN THE PRAYER ROOM HAS A
53:00PROBLEM WHAT I'M PRAYING BECAUSE YOU
53:01MARINATED YOUR SPIRIT AND YOU GOT
53:03YOURSELF RIGHT FOR WHAT'S COMING ACROSS
53:05THIS PULL PIT RIGHT NOW. GET BACK TO THE
53:08PRAYER ROOM. GET BACK TO MIDWEEK PRAYER.
53:11YOU DON'T WANT A CHURCH THAT IS DEAD
53:13WHILE IT'S GOT THE REPUTATION OF BEING
53:15ALIVE.

53:22>> THE PRAYER ROOM MATTERS. MIDWEEK PRAYER
53:25MATTERS. IT MATTERS WHEN PEOPLE PRAY
53:27THROUGH THE WEEK. [cheering]
53:34What's wrong with people when they can't
53:35come to church? People won't come to
53:37church because because there's no
53:39sermon. People won't come to church
53:40because there's no choir. People won't
53:42come to church because there's no
53:43program to watch.
53:49We're just praying, so you're not
53:50coming.
53:53>> So you're just only after the
53:54entertainment.
53:59>> It matters when people come by this
54:01church during the week to pray.
54:06>> I got to looking at that prayer log and
54:08was ashamed at how many people just quit
54:10coming. Just quit coming up here. That
54:13you know what brought us to here? You
54:15know what helped build this building?
54:16You know what brought us to this point
54:17is people that live near this church
54:19coming by here and getting on their
54:21knees and praying and marinating these
54:23walls and these pews with prayer so that
54:25when we walk through the door there was
54:27already a sense of spirit and anointing
54:29here.
54:31>> Yeah, God can hear you in your car.
54:33Yeah, God can hear you at your house.
54:36But it [clears throat] means something
54:37to come. You know what he said? He
54:38didn't say in in Matthew 21, he didn't
54:41say, "My house is going to be called a
54:42house of preaching." He didn't say it
54:44was going to be a house of singing. He
54:45didn't even say it was going to be a
54:46house of worship. HE SAID, "MY HOUSE
54:49SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER." YOU
54:51KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS? THE NUMBER ONE
54:53THING HE WANTS GOING ON IN THIS BUILDING
54:55IS PEOPLE PRAYING, NOT PEOPLE SINGING,
54:57NOT PEOPLE SHOUTING. You [applause]
55:02You know why? Because one of the
55:04greatest rebukes
55:06be seated. One of the greatest rebukes
55:08of Isuza Street
55:13is a is a a person got up and prophesied
55:16at Isuza Street.
55:18And the prophecy was this. It won't
55:20always be like this. Before I come back,
55:24there will be a people that will worship
55:27a God they do not know and they do not
55:29serve.
55:32It's not all about the shout, sister.
55:35It's about you walking straight when you
55:37get through dancing.
55:40>> It's not all about the jump, sir.
55:43>> You can jump all you want to, but when
55:44your feet hit those floor that floor on
55:46Monday, do you walk right? Do you live
55:49right? Do you live clean?
55:53>> I DON'T WANT TO BE DANCING AND SHOUTING
55:55TO A GOD I DON'T KNOW HOW to pray to. I
55:58>> I don't WANT TO BE RUNNING THE HOURS or
56:03>> if YOU'RE JUST GOING TO DANCE TO THE
56:04MUSIC CUZ YOU LIKE THE BEAT, GO TO A
56:06NIGHTCLUB.
56:12>> If it's the music and the beat you like,
56:14you might as well go to the bar
56:16>> because I don't want to be dancing and
56:18shouting to a God that I can't get on my
56:21knees and talk to, that I don't spend
56:23the time with him
56:25>> to talk to him.
56:28It's not worship that makes a church
56:30alive because there's a difference in
56:33action and anointing.
56:38>> It's not SHOUTING AND RUNNING THE AISLES
56:40THAT MAKE A CHURCH alive because there's
56:42a difference in A BUNCH OF MOVEMENT AND
56:44THE REAL ANOINTING OF [screaming] GOD.
56:49>> I DON'T WANT A CHURCH THAT'S ACTIVE. I
56:50WANT A CHURCH THAT IS [screaming] ALIVE.
56:52I DON'T WANT OUR CHURCH TO BE RUNNING.
56:54SEE, HERE'S THE DEAL. IF YOU'D HAVE
56:56ASKED SARDIS, THEY'D HAVE SAID, "MAN,
56:58that church is alive. You better be
56:59careful. You go down there, you'll get
57:00run over in the aisles."
57:03>> But it was God that checked their
57:04spiritual pulse. And he said, "All
57:07you've got is a bunch of activity that's
57:09giving you a reputation because
57:10everybody's seeing you running. They
57:12think you're alive, but I say you're
57:14dead.
57:17>> Your reputation does not match what you
57:19actually are."
57:23>> Man, I feel the Holy Ghost in this
57:24place.
57:26We got to get back to the prayer room.
57:28WE GOT TO MAKE GET BACK TO MAKING THAT
57:29PRAYER ROOM IMPORTANT. WE'VE GOT TO GET
57:31BACK TO WHERE UH MIDWEEK PRAYER MEETING
57:34IS. IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT GOING TO THE
57:36CLASSES. IT'S ABOUT PRAYING FIRST. IT'S
57:38ABOUT GETTING ON OUR KNEES. AND THOSE
57:40THAT live
57:42live near this church, LET ME TELL YOU
57:44the greatest memory you can give your
57:46kids. I don't care if they're grown,
57:49>> they need to call you sometime and you
57:51get up and [laughter] they can tell
57:53you've been crying. What's wrong? I just
57:55been up at the church praying.
57:57>> YOUR CHILDREN, YOUR GRANDBABIES NEED A
58:00MEMORY OF YOU MAKING THE HOUSE A HOUSE
58:03OF PRAYER. [cheering]
58:06>> YOUR KIDS NEED A MEMORY OF FALLING
58:08ASLEEP UNDER THESE PEWS BECAUSE MOM AND
58:11DADDY'S GOT THEM DOWN HERE PRAYING.
58:17>> I don't want the reputation
58:19that we've got alive church when it's
58:22really dead.
58:24Let me just tell you something. And I'm
58:26not I'm not throwing an indictment. I'm
58:27just telling you that there's churches
58:29all over this nation that are
58:31Pentecostal. They've been powerhouses
58:34for God, but their kids are now in
58:36sports.
58:38They can't come to midweek service
58:40because they got them in T-ball. They
58:41got them in football. They got them in
58:43tumbling. They got them in soccer. They
58:45got them in everything to the point that
58:47they cannot come to church. And they
58:49show up on Sunday because nothing else
58:51is going on Sunday. They bring their
58:53kids to one service a week while all
58:55their friends, everybody they date,
58:57everything they do is involved in this
58:58world. And then they're going to wonder
59:00in 10 years, why is our big old building
59:02falling apart? Why is everybody gone?
59:04Why don't we have any young people? Why
59:06don't we have any youth? I'm going to
59:07tell you why. They're shooting their own
59:08self in the foot by thinking it's all
59:10about a sermon and it's all about
59:12getting people dancing. I'm just going
59:14to tell you something. The lifeblood is
59:16prayer. If people aren't praying,
59:18they're not staying. If people aren't
59:19praying, they're not going to be
59:21faithful. IF PEOPLE ARE CARNAL, THEY
59:23MIGHT AS WELL GO. I DON'T WANT A CHURCH
59:25THAT'S GOT A REPUTATION FOR BEING ALIVE
59:27WHILE IT IS DEAD.
59:33>> There's some things you got to hold on
59:35to. And the church has to be the center.
59:39If we want fire in this sanctuary,
59:42somebody's got to put wood on it in the
59:45altars.
59:47>> The prayer room is the baller room of
59:49the church.
59:51It's where much happens in private that
59:55brings a public expos explosion. We
59:59should never reach the place where we
1:00:01want the results
1:00:03of prayer
1:00:06but not the inconvenience of prayer.
1:00:11We can't just admire the fire of
1:00:12previous generations while refusing to
1:00:15gather the kind of wood they gathered.
1:00:19The church don't stay alive because the
1:00:21pastor knows how to preach. It It stays
1:00:24alive because someone still knows how to
1:00:26pray.
1:00:27>> Somebody's still weeping between the
1:00:29porch and the altar. Someone's coming
1:00:31early. Someone's staying late. Someone's
1:00:33carrying a burden while no one's
1:00:35watching.
1:00:37>> Hebrews 10:25. Hebrews 10:25 says this.
1:00:40It says, "Not forsaking the assembly." I
1:00:44I want to read that. Hebrews 10:25 and
1:00:4726. I want to look at that before I go
1:00:49any further. Hebrews chapter 10, if
1:00:53y'all can help me on the screens.
1:00:54Hebrews chapter 10 25 and 26. I want you
1:00:57to look at how this reads. Not forsaking
1:01:00the assembling of yourselves together as
1:01:02the manner of some is. In other words,
1:01:04there are people in the last days that
1:01:08don't think coming to church is
1:01:09important anymore.
1:01:12but exhorting one another.
1:01:14In other words, you need to tell each
1:01:16other when you run into each other,
1:01:18you're going to be at church, ain't you?
1:01:23>> And when they don't show up, you need to
1:01:24be calling them saying, "Why weren't you
1:01:25at church?"
1:01:27>> That's what this is saying.
1:01:30>> We're supposed to hold EACH OTHER
1:01:31ACCOUNTABLE AND SAY, "WHY AREN'T YOU
1:01:33COMING TO CHURCH?
1:01:37>> What's going on WITH YOU? YOU'RE NOT
1:01:39BACKSLIDING, are you?
1:01:43but exhorting one another and so much
1:01:45the more. He said, "And as the as you
1:01:48realize the Lord's coming back, you
1:01:50better stay on your friends." If you
1:01:51love the people you go to church with,
1:01:53you need to exhort them AND SAY, "YOU
1:01:55GOT TO BE AT THE HOUSE OF GOD. YOU CAN'T
1:01:57BE MISSING CHURCH."
1:02:00>> Next verse. Listen how these two go
1:02:03together. For if we sin willfully,
1:02:11what's Paul talking about? What is
1:02:13willful sin? Missing church.
1:02:21>> WHAT IS WILLFUL SIN? NOT SHOWING UP WHEN
1:02:24YOU CAN BE THERE.
1:02:28>> You can be AT CHURCH, YOU JUST DON'T.
1:02:35use excuses to miss instead of go.
1:02:42>> For if we sin willfully after we've
1:02:43received the knowledge of the truth,
1:02:44there remainth no more sacrifice for
1:02:46sins.
1:02:48What's what what's this talking about?
1:02:50Well, there's a whole lot of people that
1:02:52like to talk about it. But I'm going to
1:02:53tell you one way that you can have no
1:02:55sacrifice is if you're not coming where
1:02:57the altar is.
1:03:00If you're willfully sinning and staying
1:03:02away from the altar,
1:03:06>> then how in the world can you be saved?
1:03:09>> How can your sins be remitted?
1:03:12>> If your sins are going to be remitted,
1:03:13you got to be IN PROXIMITY OF THE ALTAR.
1:03:16>> YOU GOT TO BE WHERE THE ALTAR IS. YOU
1:03:18GOT TO BE IN THE PLACE WHERE PREACHING
1:03:20CAN PRICK YOUR HEART AND MAKE YOU
1:03:22REPENT.
1:03:26We understand concerning this world that
1:03:28spending enough time around certain
1:03:30attitudes they begin to sound normal.
1:03:33Staying immersed in worldly thinking
1:03:35will eventually change your spiritual
1:03:38sensitivity.
1:03:41But proximity works in the other
1:03:43direction too. Staying close to a prayer
1:03:45room, staying close to preaching,
1:03:47staying close to worshippers, staying
1:03:49close to GODLY PEOPLE, STAYING CLOSE TO
1:03:52THE ALTAR, staying close to the house of
1:03:54God. If the world can influence YOU
1:03:56THROUGH PROXIMITY, THEN SO CAN THE HOUSE
1:03:58OF GOD. YOU'VE GOT TO MAKE A CHOICE.
1:04:02>> WHAT'S GOING TO HOLD PRIMARY PLACE IN
1:04:04YOUR LIFE?
1:04:07>> There are battles some people survived
1:04:11just because they kept showing up.
1:04:14There are wars that some people win just
1:04:17because they're at the house of God.
1:04:24>> I'm just telling you, there are people
1:04:25that have came to church before
1:04:28and thought themselves all the way to
1:04:29church with an attitude,
1:04:33having a bad attitude.
1:04:36And I'm going to, you know, I'm gonna
1:04:37I'm gonna I'm gonna stop and say
1:04:38something here. I I had a call this very
1:04:42day
1:04:43a call that a there was a young man that
1:04:46called me
1:04:47wanting to know
1:04:49why I'd handled the situation the way
1:04:51I'd handled it with his his father.
1:04:56And I I thought to myself, I I can't
1:05:00explain that to him
1:05:03because
1:05:04that's his father's business.
1:05:09And while his father is welcome to talk
1:05:12about me and say anything he wants to
1:05:14say about me, I got to be very careful
1:05:16what I say in response. I don't have the
1:05:20ability as a pastor to defend myself.
1:05:28And one of the most horrible places that
1:05:30a pastor has to be put in time and time
1:05:32again is just keep his mouth shut and
1:05:34let God and time fix it.
1:05:39But there's also got to be a
1:05:40responsibility in the people that's
1:05:41affected that they stay full of the Holy
1:05:43Ghost and they trust the pastor and they
1:05:45trust God enough to not lose out in that
1:05:48time period
1:05:54>> because there are people that have come
1:05:55to church with every feeler out
1:06:00with every nerve tender
1:06:03>> not realizing that that was the night
1:06:05that God was going to change everything
1:06:07for them.
1:06:09I'm going to tell you the miracle of one
1:06:11service.
1:06:13The reason every one of you are here
1:06:16that's live for God any length of time
1:06:19is you've had the miracle of one service
1:06:21happened to you.
1:06:25>> I'm just telling you over if you've been
1:06:28in the church 20 years over and over and
1:06:30over you've had the miracle of one
1:06:32service. You came to church not
1:06:34expecting anything different. And that
1:06:36was the night God revolutionized your
1:06:38life. And that's why you're still in the
1:06:39church. You didn't expect it. You didn't
1:06:42pray for it. You didn't even know it was
1:06:43going to happen. But the preacher
1:06:45preached. There was a guest preacher.
1:06:47Tongues interpretation went out.
1:06:48Something happened. And you were smitten
1:06:50in your spirit. And you were smitten in
1:06:52your heart. And you left that service
1:06:54viewing everything different than the
1:06:56way you walked in.
1:06:58>> The miracle. Never underestimate the
1:07:00power of one midweek service.
1:07:04>> One prayer meeting, one occasion where
1:07:07you kneel before the God can change
1:07:09everything for you.
1:07:11>> That's why you can't miss church. That's
1:07:13why you got to be in the house OF GOD.
1:07:15YOU'RE NOT HERE BECAUSE YOU'RE GREAT.

1:07:25GOD LOVES YOU MORE THAN HE LOVES OTHER
1:07:27PEOPLE. MOST OF US ARE HERE BECAUSE WE
1:07:29DIDN'T QUIT.
1:07:31>> WE JUST KEPT COMING BACK. WE WERE JUST
1:07:34FAITHFUL. YOU CAN'T OUTRUN FAITHFULNESS.
1:07:38The devil can't defeat someone that's
1:07:40just faithful.
1:07:42>> Lift your hands and reach out to the
1:07:44Lord. Come on, somebody.
1:07:46Come on, somebody. Reach out to God. The
1:07:48Holy Ghost is trying to move in this
1:07:49place. Come on. Come on. I know it's I
1:07:52know it's Monday night teaching, but the
1:07:54Holy Ghost is trying to move.
1:07:58Some battles are survived because people
1:08:00keep showing up. There were Sundays when
1:08:03you didn't feel spiritual, but you came
1:08:05anyway. THERE WERE PRAYER MEETINGS WHEN
1:08:07YOU WERE WORE OUT AND TIRED, BUT YOU
1:08:09CAME ANYWAY. THERE WERE TIMES WHEN LIFE
1:08:12HAD BEATEN YOU UP AND BEATEN YOU DOWN
1:08:14AND SLAPPED YOU UPSIDE THE HEAD AND YOU
1:08:16DIDN'T FEEL LIKE CHURCH, BUT YOU GOT UP
1:08:18AND YOU GOT DRESSED AND YOU CAME ANYWAY.
1:08:21AND THAT'S WHY THE CHURCH IS ALIVE AND
1:08:23THAT'S WHY THE CHURCH LIVES.
1:08:27WHEN YOU'RE SPIRITUALLY WEAK, DISTANCE
1:08:29IS NOT YOUR MEDICINE. GETTING CLOSER IS.
1:08:35>> The enemy would love to convince us that
1:08:37when we're tired and discouraged and
1:08:39hurt and struggling, that what we need
1:08:41is distance from everything. I've
1:08:43literally had people tell me, "Brother
1:08:44Copen, I just didn't feel like coming to
1:08:45church. I'm just hurt. I just got things
1:08:47going on." And I think to myself, my
1:08:49God, church is where you need to be.
1:08:51TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT THAT THAT'S WHY THE
1:08:53DEVIL DON'T WANT YOU HERE. TONIGHT'S THE
1:08:55NIGHT THAT YOU'RE GOING TO NEED WHAT THE
1:08:56EVANGELIST PREACHES. TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT
1:08:58THAT IT'S GOING TO BE YOUR MESSAGE. IT'S
1:09:00GOING TO BE YOUR ALTAR CALL AND YOU'RE
1:09:02SITTING HOME.
1:09:05>> It matters for our children. If we teach
1:09:08our if we teach our children by our
1:09:11choice that everything else takes
1:09:13precedence over the HOUSE OF GOD. DON'T
1:09:15BE SURPRISED WHEN THEY GO UP GROW UP
1:09:17BELIEVING church is optional.
1:09:21What we treat optional, our children
1:09:24will treat as unnecessary.
1:09:27>> I want the children of this church to
1:09:30remember powerful prayer rooms. I want
1:09:32them to remember moms and dads coming by
1:09:34the church to pray. I want them to
1:09:37REMEMBER COMING ON THESE GROUNDS WHEN
1:09:39THIS ENTIRE PLACE IS SHAKING UNDER THE
1:09:41POWER OF THE Holy Ghost. I I I WANT THEM
1:09:44TO REMEMBER THE HOUSE with people slain
1:09:47in the spirit talking in tongues. That's
1:09:49what I want the next generation to
1:09:51remember about this church. ARE WE ALIVE
1:09:53ENOUGH TO SHOW THEM THAT? HAVE WE STILL
1:09:56GOT A LIGHT ENOUGH LIFE THAT OUR
1:09:58CHILDREN CAN SEE WHAT SOME OF US GREW UP
1:10:00ON? [applause and cheering]
1:10:07I'm watching the clock. I'm almost done.
1:10:11I don't have time to get into it, but
1:10:12Sardis reminds me of Samson
1:10:15when Samson shook himself.
1:10:18He said, "I will go out as other times
1:10:20before."
1:10:22And the scripture says, "And he whis not
1:10:24that the Lord was departed from them."
1:10:27The only thing I know sadder than a
1:10:29backslider knowing God departed is a
1:10:33church that God departed and they never
1:10:35noticed.
1:10:38At least the backslider knows
1:10:41>> that they purposely separated from God.
1:10:44>> But it's sad when a church thinks that
1:10:46their power is in their singing and in
1:10:48their music and in their choir. And I
1:10:50love every bit of it. I love the choir.
1:10:52I love the music. I love the singing.
1:10:54But I know what powers it.
1:10:57And I'm not foolish enough to think that
1:10:59if we do I if we lose our prayer, we
1:11:02just become another Branson music show
1:11:05that just happens to not be in Branson.
1:11:13>> That went over like I thought it would.
1:11:17>> We don't need a music show.
1:11:19>> We need a move of God.
1:11:23[applause]
1:11:27But here's what he said, and I'm closing
1:11:29with this. In fact, musicians can come.
1:11:32He said, "If there's still an ember."
1:11:38>> Is that what he said? Well, maybe not in
1:11:40those exact words. Why don't you put it
1:11:41up on the screen?
1:11:44Let's look at about about verse

1:11:59Let's look at it.
1:12:01Be watchful and strengthen the things
1:12:04that remain.
1:12:06If there's still an ember,

1:12:14put some kindling on it.
1:12:16>> Keep it alive. Don't let everything die.
1:12:18You can you can get it back if you can
1:12:20get the fire started again.
1:12:23You know what? I'm thrilled this church
1:12:24isn't in that position.
1:12:26>> You know what I'm preaching tonight is
1:12:28preventive maintenance.
1:12:30>> I'm not preaching to a church that's
1:12:32dead. I'm preaching to a church that if
1:12:34we're not careful, the next generation
1:12:35will be.
1:12:38>> I'm watching something fade that I've
1:12:40been keeping my mouth shut about. But
1:12:42not tonight. Not after reading this. Not
1:12:44after reading how God dealt with the
1:12:46church at Sardis. I'm telling you, we've
1:12:48got to get back to the prayer room. If
1:12:50you love this church, get back to the
1:12:52prayer room. If you love what this
1:12:55church is, it's the prayer room that
1:12:57does it. NOT THE BIG CROWD, NOT THE
1:12:59SINGING, NOT THE CHOIR. IT'S THE PRAYER
1:13:01ROOM. THE PRAYER ROOM IS THE ANSWER.
1:13:06>> IF YOU LOVE THIS CHURCH, MAKE IT YOUR
1:13:08BUSINESS TO BE IN THE PRAYER ROOM. IF
1:13:10YOU LOVE THIS CHURCH, MAKE IT YOUR

1:13:15BUSINESS TO BE IN THE PRAYER ROOM. DON'T
1:13:18VOTE AGAINST WHAT KEEPS US ALIVE.
1:13:25>> Everything that you do gathers a
1:13:28gathering
1:13:30and it it just
1:13:33there's been times I just been tempted.
1:13:35I've been in there praying and I've had
1:13:38people come to me and talk to me and
1:13:40said, "Brother Copen, I don't know
1:13:40what's going on. We got we got 75 or 100
1:13:43people just sitting out there in
1:13:44auditorium waiting on church to start."
1:13:46And I've literally thought about just
1:13:47coming out here and just sitting and
1:13:48talking and visiting with y'all and see
1:13:49what y'all think about it.
1:13:53You know the amazing thing is if I came
1:13:54out here where y'all all sitting waiting
1:13:56on church starting just how you doing
1:13:58good to see been deer hunting lately.
1:14:02>> You know what you'd think? Why ain't he
1:14:04in the prayer room?
1:14:08>> You know WHAT I'M THINKING? WHY AIN'T
1:14:09YOU IN the prayer room?
1:14:14Why am I supposed to be in there and
1:14:16you're not?
1:14:23>> You don't this this preaching ain't
1:14:25going to affect some of y'all.
1:14:27>> Some of y'all determine you're going to
1:14:29be what you going to be.
1:14:33But if there's one family
1:14:37>> that can change it for your kids,
1:14:43>> don't come to me and ask me in five
1:14:44years,
1:14:46what did I do wrong
1:14:49when your children are no longer in the
1:14:51church and they're backsliding and the
1:14:52world's important to them?
1:14:56Because there's not going to be no sense
1:14:57in me telling you then because I'm
1:14:59telling you now.
1:15:01If you raise your family telling them
1:15:04it's okay for you not to go to the
1:15:06prayer room.
1:15:09If you raise your family that every time
1:15:12the neighbor turns his sprinkler on, you
1:15:14claim it's raining and stay home.
1:15:19And you know there there's two or three
1:15:21things I can't understand. I'm just
1:15:22going to go ahead and hit it right now.
1:15:25I grew up
1:15:27I grew up
1:15:30that if you were a church attender,
1:15:34if you went to church
1:15:36and some of your family was foolish
1:15:38enough to show up at your house on
1:15:41church night,
1:15:45you said, "We're going to drink a good
1:15:46quick cup of coffee and then I got to go
1:15:48get ready because we got church
1:15:49tonight."
1:15:51But I'm getting texts all the time from
1:15:53old time Pentecost. We going to be at
1:15:55church night. We had some guests show
1:15:56up. Well,
1:15:58>> when did we change that?
1:16:01>> What kind of testimony are you to them?
1:16:03And then you're going to turn, you're
1:16:04going to stay home with them and miss
1:16:06church and then turn around and invite
1:16:07them to church and tell them how
1:16:08important church is.
1:16:13>> You just take a shotgun, blow your toes
1:16:15off.
1:16:16>> You're shooting yourself in the foot.
1:16:19They don't believe that you believe
1:16:21church is important if you sat home with
1:16:22them while church was GOING ON. WHAT IF
1:16:24GOD COMES?
1:16:27>> You going with the church OR YOU GOING
1:16:29WITH THOSE PEOPLE YOU SAT HOME WITH?
1:16:35>> When did we CHANGE THIS STUFF?
1:16:37>> WHO HAD THE AUTHORITY TO CHANGE IT? I
1:16:40DON'T THINK A PRAYING preacher did.
1:16:43>> You know who I think changed it? Carnal
1:16:46saints.
1:16:47>> All right.
1:16:48And y'all going to get on their train.
1:16:54>> I don't understand that.
1:16:57When I grew up, if a kid was sick,
1:17:01they almost had to be hospitalized.
1:17:05We used the Sunday school classes as
1:17:08nursing wards.
1:17:14I remember having the measles and the
1:17:16chickenpox growing up.
1:17:19and never missed church.
1:17:22I sat in my grandparents Sunday school
1:17:24room.
1:17:26It happened to be near the baptistry and
1:17:28they opened the baptistry door and I
1:17:30listened to church from the Sunday
1:17:31school room while scratching chickenpox.
1:17:34But nobody stayed home with me. You know
1:17:36why? Because church was important.
1:17:39That's why
1:17:41>> church mattered. That's why
1:17:46>> I had the measles and didn't miss
1:17:48church.
1:17:51And one time I had pneumonia.
1:17:54It was around Thanksgiving. I had
1:17:56pneumonia and couldn't hardly breathe.
1:18:01And my mom stayed home with me and my
1:18:03dad went to church.
1:18:06But now I get text. None of our family
1:18:09will be there. The youngest is sick. So,
1:18:11you're going to hold the whole the whole
1:18:12family is going to stay home.
1:18:15Mama, daddy, teenagers,
1:18:18cuz little six-year-old Jung Jr. sick.
1:18:24I I'm wondering what planet I'm on
1:18:26nowadays.
1:18:28What is happening to Pentecost?
1:18:31>> And we want to know why we're not
1:18:33pulling fire down. WE'RE NOT COMMITTED.
1:18:38WHY SHOULD GOD WASTE HEAVEN ON US?
1:18:42>> WE WON'T WASTE ANYTHING ON HIM.
1:18:48>> You know, THERE'S A LAW of relationship,
1:18:50sweetheart. YOU KNOW WHAT YOU GET OUT OF
1:18:51A RELATIONSHIP? WHAT YOU PUT IN IT.
1:18:58>> Is this too strong?
1:19:04>> Some of y'all said, "I'm getting weak my
1:19:05old age.

1:19:11>> I'm telling you, you get out of a
1:19:13relationship what you put in it. And
1:19:15when you miss church because one kid's
1:19:16sick and you hold the whole family out
1:19:18and you miss church cuz somebody stopped
1:19:20by, they don't respect you enough on
1:19:22church night not to drop in on you.
1:19:26>> It's time for us to go back to being an
1:19:28old You want to talk about old time
1:19:30Pentecost? LET'S GET BACK TO IT.

1:21:05INTERPRETATION went out and that place
1:21:07shook under the power of the HOLY GHOST.

1:24:18for this church to be. When Jesus comes
1:24:20back, I planned for it to be everything
1:24:22it was and meant to be in its inception.
1:24:25In 1923, when they brought the oneness
1:24:28message to this area and they
1:24:29established this church, they
1:24:31established it on separation, the
1:24:33oneness of God, apostolic movement,
1:24:35apostolic power.
1:24:40And when Jesus Christ comes back, he's
1:24:42going to say, "This church stuck with
1:24:44the mission. They understood the
1:24:46assignment and they stuck with it."
1:24:50Let's entertain the Holy Ghost. I'm I'm
1:24:52about to open these altars for just a
1:24:54few minutes
1:24:55because if you're thankful for what this
1:24:57church is, and you commit to standing
1:25:00with me and keeping this church
1:25:02apostolic,
1:25:03fully separated, fully powerful, fully
1:25:07functioning in power and anointing,
1:25:09I'm going to ask you to come around this
1:25:11altar as a signal of that. But not yet.

1:25:18hesitancy in the spirit.

1:29:34We have reached
1:29:37We've reached a time in Pentecost that
1:29:42there's an old guard that is ch turning
1:29:44churches over to a younger group.
1:29:47And I happen to be right in the middle
1:29:49of those two.
1:29:52Many of our great churches across
1:29:54Pentecost is being turned to 40 year old
1:29:57pastors.
1:30:00Pastors 60, 70, 80 years old are turning
1:30:02their churches. these younger men.
1:30:06And these younger men are looking to
1:30:08Pine Grove
1:30:13>> to be their flagship, their guide where
1:30:15they're going to take their church.
1:30:18>> That's why we can't change.
1:30:22>> That's why we've got to remain solid.
1:30:24[applause]
1:30:30>> I love you with all my heart. This is
1:30:31the greatest church in the world.
1:30:34This is the greatest church I know of
1:30:36anywhere.
1:30:38The most powerful,
1:30:41but I need I I need you to help me hold
1:30:44this body accountable.
1:30:46>> There's people sitting around you
1:30:49that we need to we need to move on them
1:30:51that Sunday's not enough.
1:30:55>> Some of the ones you've taught Bible
1:30:57studies to and that you've reached,

1:31:05consume you if you're going to make it.

1:31:24to the coming of the Lord, the harder

1:31:34Man, we don't need to be lessening our
1:31:35church going.
1:31:37>> We don't mean need to be lessening the
1:31:39influence.
1:31:42>> We need to be increasing being at the
1:31:45house of God,
1:31:46>> coming by this place, praying,
1:31:48>> bringing your family up here.
1:31:51>> I'm just telling you, if you live within
1:31:5210, 15 miles of this church, you ought
1:31:54to have a regular two or three nights a
1:31:56week.
1:31:57>> Come on. your whole evening don't have
1:31:59to be consumed with it. If you're taking
1:32:00them out to eat, just come by the church
1:32:01and pray before you go eat.
1:32:05If you're going somewhere, you're going
1:32:06to visit somebody, if you're if you're
1:32:08doing something, just come by this
1:32:09church. Let them have a memory when they
1:32:11when they start their family.
1:32:15You know what they need to say? I want
1:32:17to start the tradition in my family that
1:32:19in my kids that my that I grew up under.
1:32:23I want my kids to remember me coming to
1:32:25the house of God and praying.
1:32:27That's what makes a powerful church.
1:32:31Hallelujah. I love you. I'm not gonna

1:32:34You're the greatest people in the world.
1:32:36Let's stay with it. Every force of the
1:32:38enemy is against the church.
1:32:41But you know, all you got to do is
1:32:43stand.

1:33:13to cancel because sister's having some
1:33:15health issues. And so we want to pro
1:33:17first of all pray for sister. Secondly,
1:33:20uh we will reschedu uh that event with
1:33:23him. So October the I believe it was the
1:33:2510th, 11th and 12th. I believe I'm right
1:33:27on those dates or 9th, 10th and 11th,
1:33:30whatever it was. The Friday, Saturday,
1:33:32and Sunday that the uh brother Nathaniel
1:33:34Paul was going to be here teaching about
1:33:37church growth and church expansion is
1:33:39going to have to be put off probably to
1:33:41the spring of the year.
