- 0:02Light Express from The Crooked Moon,

- 0:10of Evantress as uh the bunch of goofy
- 0:12goobers that you see animated shorts of
- 0:15featuring Chuckles the Clown, uh Torbeck
- 0:18the Bug Bear, Bitsy the Mouse, and all
- 0:20of their silly shenanigans. But we are
- 0:22also publishers and we have published
- 0:24The Crooked Moon, a 632page
- 0:28behemoth of a folk horror tome. All of
- 0:30it is available on DND Beyond. Inside
- 0:33you're going to find everything that you
- 0:34need to run a folk horror adventure for
- 0:37fifth edition Dn D uh for the 2024
- 0:40rules. Uh we have 15 subasses, 13
- 0:43species, 85 monsters, 11 of which are
- 0:46epic uh boss monsters. uh 13 of which
- 0:49are familiars with rules to summon and
- 0:52uh and bond with any class. There is 13
- 0:55backgrounds, 14 feats, a 350 page
- 1:00adventure campaign from levels one uh to
- 1:0314 primarily and then optional endgame
- 1:05content all the way to level 20. 26
- 1:08upgrading magic items that uh upgrade
- 1:10through all tiers of play. 13 potions,
- 1:1213 cursed items. There's a lot. That's a
- 1:14lot. Dark bargains. Dark bargain. Oh,
- 1:16there's 13 dark bargains. Exactly.
- 1:17Right. What about all those maps?
- 1:19There's like over 50 maps. Oh, there's
- 1:20over the fate weaving system. What about
- 1:21the fate weaving system? Fatew weaving
- 1:23system is where you can tie your parties
- 1:27backgrounds and motivation into the
- 1:28overall crooked moon adventure campaign.
- 1:30There is a ton. There's too much to
- 1:32mention of folklore. There's so much.
- 1:34There's so much. But we should mention
- 1:36the chaotic curses. Oh my god. You may
- 1:38have seen on our shorts the results of
- 1:40the wacky chaotic curses. We have 156 of
- 1:44them. a table with 156 that also
- 1:47interface with the tarot deck if you
- 1:48happen to have one of those where they
- 1:51can be wacky, they can be hilarious,
- 1:52they can be scary, they can be spooky,
- 1:55they can be ooky. I don't think any are
- 1:58boring. Skeletons might chill up. That's
- 2:01true. That is true. Skeletons might
- 2:04chill up. That scares me. And so on D
- 2:07and D Beyond, you have a lot of options
- 2:08here. Well, you have three options.
- 2:10That's a lot.
- 2:11There's part one, which is the player
- 2:14options and the campaign. Oh, there's a
- 2:16whole campaign setting. There's a whole
- 2:18campaign setting with the 13 Province of
- 2:20Dusk involved. Uh, and so you can get
- 2:22part one on D and D Beyond that features
- 2:24the character options in the campaign
- 2:25setting. Then part two, you can get the
- 2:29adventure uh and the monsters as well as
- 2:31the uh the treasury for both of them. Or
- 2:34you can get the bundle and you save 10
- 2:35bucks. Bingo. So, I mean, clear choice.

- 3:21creaking bones.

- 3:34Cricly crack the branches. Puppy crawls.
- 3:36The night that never stops. The tree
- 3:39that leans with twisted grin. Her limbs
- 3:41are thrown. Her soul is sin. Underneath
- 3:44the crooked moon
- 3:48stalks the king on clove.
- 3:53In pale decay and empty gloom,
- 3:58he comes for you.
- 4:00[Music]
- 4:05Six horns his crown
- 4:08his kingdom
- 4:12for life delicious heat is cold.
- 4:20He carries six of sword and seal
- 4:27once souls the fallen kneel.
- 4:37Run run run don't shrink and cow and
- 4:40join us at the wood chimp and sing
- 4:43thrashing light to sw the streets of
- 4:46endless night. Dance beneath the crooked
- 4:49moon
- 4:51and rising rapture hand in hand.
- 4:56From pale decay and empty
- 5:00will comfort you.
- 5:05May our light embrace you too
- 5:10and kiss the edge of midnight zoo.
- 5:14The breakest place in a blue.

- 5:35Last time, Carnival Lrew found
- 5:37themselves through the veil after
- 5:39passing to the realms of death. Suddenly
- 5:42becoming reborn into new forms, a
- 5:44mysterious ghost train arrived to take
- 5:46them to the next stage of the afterlife,
- 5:49a land of eternal night called
- 5:51Duskinbald.
- 5:52After boarding the Ghost Light Express,
- 5:54things went wrong as a phantom train
- 5:56hopper attacked and attempted to corrupt
- 5:58the locomotive. Now, the crew has
- 6:01received an ominous terror reading from
- 6:03the Lady of the Land, unsure of if they
- 6:06can stop the coming doom.
- 6:10Adela looks down at the card that she
- 6:13holds in her hand. The tower card, a
- 6:17blazing wicker man at top a hill,
- 6:20the village, a light in flame. The look
- 6:23on her face is distant, almost as if
- 6:27she's
- 6:28seeing something none of you can see,
- 6:31seeing a different place in time. As she
- 6:35shakes her head, she
- 6:39continues to stare at the card for a
- 6:40minute before shuffling all of your
- 6:42cards back into the deck. the
- 6:47feelings that have overcome her. At the
- 6:49end of this tarot reading, she quickly
- 6:52buries beneath a smile as she
- 6:57adjusts in her seat and places her hands
- 7:01beneath her chin. Well, I mean, that's
- 7:05that's great. You all got your your
- 7:06tarot read. And we even got a little a
- 7:08couple of special cards. One for the
- 7:10lovers and, you know, one for me. Oh,
- 7:14was that a good reading?
- 7:17Well, you know, with the cards, you can
- 7:19never really say whether it's good or
- 7:20bad. It's really guidance. It's helping
- 7:23you to see what the future holds for
- 7:26you. It's up to you how your future
- 7:28plays out.
- 7:30It's like a horror scope.
- 7:34I'm sorry. What? It's all about how you
- 7:36interpret it. My girlfriend Tiffany told
- 7:38me all about it. Oh, yeah. Sean, no.
- 7:42That sounds about right. Are you feeling
- 7:46all right? Oh, yeah. It's been a long
- 7:48day. The Yeah, the train was shaking
- 7:51there for a little bit. I think I'm I'm
- 7:54feeling a bit
- 7:56feeling like I could take a bit of a
- 7:57nap. I might head to the sleeper car in
- 7:59a while and try and catch a couple of
- 8:02Z's, maybe snuggle with Phil. But, uh,
- 8:05for now, I'm okay. I'm doing all right.
- 8:10May I determine if I feel like she is
- 8:13telling the truth, that she's not
- 8:15shaken? Um, roll a perception check or
- 8:19insight. Roll inside. Oh, that's going
- 8:21to be a 17. Um,
- 8:26yeah, she's not doing a very good job of
- 8:28hiding it. It's very clear that she is
- 8:30putting on heirs of being okay, but
- 8:33there is something about the reading,
- 8:35whether it was the final card or the
- 8:37reading as a whole, that has shaken her.
- 8:41Well, all right, Miss Dela, just make
- 8:43sure you get some rest and Oh, yeah.
- 8:46Just take it easy. You know what? I'll
- 8:48I'll have a drink. Phil, can you can Can
- 8:51you get your darling a drink? And Phil
- 8:53nods his head and he leans behind uh
- 8:56towards the bar and grabs a couple of
- 8:57the bottles and begins to mix her uh a
- 9:00drink. He barely is even looking at what
- 9:02he's doing. All the while he's clearly
- 9:04watching Adella. Um you can see worry
- 9:06lines on his face as he monitors her,
- 9:09but he quickly makes a drink and uh
- 9:12holds it in his hand as he slowly walks
- 9:15behind her. the tapping of his cane can
- 9:17be heard on the wooden floor of the
- 9:18lounge car as he um stands behind her
- 9:23and places the drink in front of her,
- 9:25leans down, places a gentle kiss on her
- 9:27cheek, and whispers something softly
- 9:28into her ear. Uh she looks at him and
- 9:31smiles and nods and he makes his way
- 9:34back towards the bar, leans up against
- 9:36the wall and crosses one leg over the
- 9:38other and he looks content. He looks
- 9:40happy. Um but he continues to monitor
- 9:43[Music]
- 9:48Oh, she's back. I mean, she's just been
- 9:50sitting there at the table with you. Oh,
- 9:52well, everything's going to be fine. And
- 9:54if anything not going to be fine, it's
- 9:56going to be fine soon. So, don't you
- 9:57worry. Uh, a pretty hair on your little
- 10:00chinny chim chin. Everything's going to
- 10:02be fine. Oh, yeah. No, no, nothing's
- 10:03wrong at all. I scout's on. Oh, no. I'm
- 10:07I'm sure you're right. And honestly,
- 10:09it's just been such a long trip. I think
- 10:12I think it's really time that Phil and I
- 10:14get home to Chateau Cla DeLoon. So, I
- 10:17mean, I'm not sure how long we've been
- 10:19on this train. It feels like forever,
- 10:20but we can't be too far from Dusk
- 10:23involved. And then I'll be home safe and
- 10:27sound in my own bed. I'm sure you can't
- 10:30wait to to get back home to yours or I
- 10:33guess wherever you're going.
- 10:35I mean, who's to say, frankly? I mean,
- 10:37you know, we I mean, you could say we're
- 10:40a couple of vagabons,
- 10:43a uh group of renegades. Oh, we go where
- 10:47the wind takes us. And you know, uh
- 10:49trailblazers
- 10:51where we lay our head is our bed. Right
- 10:54now, the train is taking us to wherever
- 10:55we end up. Uh we have no home in Truskin
- 10:59Valds. there. There really is no place
- 11:03where we could call our Maybe you can
- 11:05help direct us when we get there.
- 11:07Something's kind of currently behind us.
- 11:09And of course, you're welcome at Chateau
- 11:11Cleon anytime you want to come by and
- 11:13stay. But I mean, thank you. It's been
- 11:15lovely getting to know you. Thank you.
- 11:18You all seem very sweet and
- 11:22just just peachy, every single one of
- 11:24you. I am I am feeling a bit tired
- 11:27though. So, if it's all right with you,
- 11:29I think I'm going to have Phil escort me
- 11:31to the sleeper card. Oh, you all can
- 11:33enjoy the bar and the lounge and just
- 11:37the rest of the ride. And if you need
- 11:39anything, well, we're no we're room
- 11:41number one.
- 11:43Oh, thank you. Well, we're not going to
- 11:45stop by or nothing. No, that would be
- 11:47untold. And if we're not there, we'll be
- 11:49right back here. So, you'll know where
- 11:51to find us if you need us.

- 11:58options for like forms once we get
- 12:00there. We don't talk about that. Sleep
- 12:02well toler
- 12:08gets up and you see she's a little bit
- 12:09shaky as she writes herself and Phil
- 12:11quickly almost um almost quicker than
- 12:14your eyes perceive. Darts behind her and
- 12:17holds her up as he wraps his arm around
- 12:19her. Um they begin to glide out of the
- 12:23um stroll out of the train car, but you
- 12:25realize that Phil is holding her up. She
- 12:27is so petite and short that he's got her
- 12:30in his arms and her feet are not even
- 12:32touching the ground as he um moves them
- 12:35out of the out of the lounge car. And
- 12:37with this gentle click of the door, uh
- 12:40Philip and Adella make their way to a
- 12:43little bit of an afternoon nap. Uh, and
- 12:46you are left in the smoky confines of
- 12:49the lounge car. You look around you and
- 12:52outside of the the single um hate that
- 12:57you have seen here. You're alone here,
- 13:00but the bar is stocked. The uh the
- 13:03tufted seats are plush. The ambiance is
- 13:08cozy and relaxing with the gentle
- 13:10flickering of the yellow light of the
- 13:11the wall sconces.
- 13:14The moment that they are gone and have
- 13:16have exited the car, I will look around
- 13:19with the rest of my community and say,
- 13:21"Well, Torbach doesn't want to alarm
- 13:23anybody." Uh, but Torbbeck understands
- 13:25that we just told her that everything's
- 13:27going to be fine. Does Torbbeck need to
- 13:30remind all of you that Frost literally
- 13:32got a card of death and Torbeck got the
- 13:36devil? That doesn't seem very good.
- 13:39Well, we also know that nothing's
- 13:41nothing okay. Torbeck. All right. The
- 13:44the train's all up. Yeah, that
- 13:45that spooky ghost. He was a spooky ghost
- 13:48and he taught two face. I look over to
- 13:50the hat.
- 13:53You look to the h and you see that she
- 13:55is she's looking wistfully out the
- 13:58window. Uh, one of her legs is draped
- 14:01over the other as she rocks her foot
- 14:03back and forth to a melody that's
- 14:05playing in her head and her head alone.
- 14:08the um the dress that she's wearing is
- 14:11completely covered in sequined fringe or
- 14:14beaded fringe. And as she as she moves
- 14:16and she holds her cigarette, a loft in
- 14:19her hand, um you watch as her spectral
- 14:22dress um
- 14:25uh jingles this way and that almost like
- 14:28a dance. And it's it's almost enchanting
- 14:34as you watch this and you realize that
- 14:36there's a or you you notice a single um
- 14:41spectral tear rolling down her cheek.
- 14:43She quickly wipes it away with one
- 14:46finger. You it so quickly you almost
- 14:49didn't notice it was there as she tries
- 14:52to uh temper down whatever feeling she's
- 14:54keeping under control. But she there's a
- 14:59there's a sorrow about her and you
- 15:01realize that that sorrow you felt it
- 15:04when you entered this car. You had a
- 15:06small uh a small encounter with her when
- 15:10you first entered. But that feeling that
- 15:12she's emanating is growing and it's
- 15:15beginning to you're able to feel it now
- 15:17on the opposite end of of this train
- 15:20car.
- 15:21What were we supposed to say, man? I
- 15:23mean, the vagrant said, "Keep it all on
- 15:25the hush." Dormeck just wanted to make
- 15:27sure we're all on the same page. If
- 15:29we're lying, we're lying. I mean, you
- 15:32figure you out a bad call. Mine said the
- 15:34fool. That's very rude.
- 15:37I mean, mine said strength. Yeah. Why do
- 15:39I It's just some kind of pure reflection
- 15:41of us. Why do you get to be the
- 15:42strength, but you get to be the emperor?
- 15:44And we all got terrible cars. Well, I
- 15:46feel like reading was all generally
- 15:47positive. Even with death and the devil
- 15:50and the fool. The literal devil. Yeah,
- 15:54but wasn't it like kind of a friendly
- 15:56devil, you know? Yeah. Smiling grinding
- 15:58devil. Wait a minute. What's wrong with
- 15:59the devil?
- 16:02What do you mean? Oh, Torex. Sorry. Come
- 16:05on. Torb used to the way. I know we're
- 16:07not both goblinoids anymore, but what?
- 16:09All of a sudden, everyone's got a
- 16:10problem with devils. Sorry. You know,
- 16:13Tor didn't mean that. My Torx dart was
- 16:15wonderful. Don't make me sting you and
- 16:17say it's just in my nature. Toby,
- 16:20wait. Are you an actual devil or are you
- 16:22like Gibb was before he looked like
- 16:24this? Well, he kind of looked like a
- 16:25devil, but he really wasn't at all.
- 16:27Well, I think I'm more devilish. I don't
- 16:29think I'm full devil, but I don't really
- 16:30know the cosminology. Devilishly good.
- 16:35That's true. I do have a fine goatee,
- 16:38man. Oh, we should take seriously these
- 16:41card readings. I think that she has the
- 16:43prophetic gift and I think that these
- 16:46cards all do have some reflection of our
- 16:48future. She's connected to uh the space
- 16:52between life and death, that liinal
- 16:53spot. And I imagine that there is going
- 16:55to be meaning in these cards for each of
- 16:57us.
- 16:59How about first we take advantage of
- 17:01this bar? I wouldn't mind a drink. Yeah.
- 17:05I like the way you think. Well, serve
- 17:08them up.
- 17:09Well, that kind of we got to we got to
- 17:12deal with it with the ghost. We got to
- 17:14deal with that. Can't deal with a little
- 17:16bit of whiskey.
- 17:18I bet she's down, too. Yeah, fine.
- 17:22Everybody knows the best cure for
- 17:24sadness is alcohol.
- 17:26Tobac, you're a mad genius.
- 17:29Okay, let's do it. What to do there,
- 17:32Miss Lady? My associates known to you
- 17:34from across the room and we I wanted to
- 17:36inquire if we may uh sit with you for a
- 17:39while. Oh, honey, you know that we
- 17:41already talked, right? Yeah. No. Well, I
- 17:44mean, yeah, I I gave you a little wave,
- 17:45but you know, now that
- 17:48the time has passed, I just If you want
- 17:49to take a seat, you can go ahead. I'm
- 17:52not going to stop you. All right.
- 17:55All right. Give me a drink.
- 17:58Okay.
- 18:00Did you at least get a girl a drink?
- 18:02Yeah, we got one right here. Dor's
- 18:04working on it. We can complain about
- 18:05hair in the boos.
- 18:07I I'll go for some drinks and I'll bring
- 18:09them over, but my finger will be in each
- 18:11of the glasses as I grab like all six of
- 18:13them and like place them down. I see
- 18:15this and I stand and I go make my own
- 18:17drink. Uh I'll uh reach for I'll reach
- 18:19for a bottle of milk. Uh thinking of my
- 18:22umi past, but all of a sudden I realize
- 18:24that's not the the flavor set that I
- 18:26want. and I start scurrying around and
- 18:28looking for what what my new taste buds
- 18:30might uh entice me. Uh but I'll I'll
- 18:33keep the bottle. Believe it or not, his
- 18:35hygiene's improved.
- 18:38I know it smells like wet dog, but
- 18:40that's a very big improvement. It's
- 18:42almost like, oh dear, wet dog. You
- 18:45definitely should have smelled him
- 18:46before. You know, this is a huge
- 18:49improvement.
- 18:51She looks between all of you and she she
- 18:55looks
- 18:57concerned.
- 19:00[Music]
- 19:02Well, you know I'm a
- 19:05I'm a ghost, right? I can't smell a
- 19:08thing. Oh, thank goodness.
- 19:12Wait, you can't smell? Can you taste? I
- 19:15can't taste a thing.
- 19:17Oh, no. But I sure do feel a whole lot.
- 19:21Oh, what what a you so spirit.
- 19:25I don't want to I don't want to burden
- 19:27you with my
- 19:29mortal and deathly troubles. Oh, trust
- 19:32me. We're burdened with far worse things
- 19:34right now. Your burdens are just a mere
- 19:37passing would be a relief. A temporary
- 19:40relief.
- 19:44In life,
- 19:46I was a singer.
- 19:48M music was my passion. Oh, and I never
- 19:53I was never fully able to rise to my
- 19:56true potential. I always yearn to fill
- 19:59rooms and
- 20:01sing songs that
- 20:04filled the hearts of
- 20:07everyone who listened. And I never got
- 20:09the chance. And now I'm here in death,
- 20:13here in my eternal song, never able to
- 20:15fully
- 20:17live up to that dream.
- 20:21Now eternity awaits me and I'll never
- 20:24reach it.
- 20:26She looks out the window and you see the
- 20:28tear again roll down her cheek.
- 20:32Oh, that's that's very sad.
- 20:35Well, you know, it's never too late,
- 20:37right? learn a new skill or a talent
- 20:45or do you think it is?
- 20:48What What is a new skill or talent going
- 20:50to do for you?
- 20:52I don't know. I mean, maybe give you a
- 20:55new dream, right, Grummy? Yeah. You
- 20:58know, turn over a new leaf or you know
- 21:01what? Why can't you become a wonderful
- 21:04singer musician right now? Right this
- 21:06very second.
- 21:10Who's going to listen that's going to
- 21:12remember?
- 21:14Well, I think we would. Oh, we'll
- 21:15remember. I don't think we're
- 21:17technically dead no more. Yes, we're
- 21:19corporal. We have uh the ability to
- 21:21remember, taste, and smell. We have the
- 21:24ability to listen to your song and feel
- 21:26the swell of emotions as you perform
- 21:28your art. We're great at listening to
- 21:30music. I couldn't sing without some
- 21:34instrumentation.
- 21:36Maybe if you could find me,
- 21:39I don't know, something something that
- 21:42could play a backing track. I would sing
- 21:44for you. We'll remember it. Form for
- 21:46you. We
- 21:49survive. That is what uh don't listen to
- 21:52him. Uh what is your gene? What is your
- 21:55favorite gener?
- 21:58I'm not sure what you're asking. He
- 22:00means genre. He does mince around his
- 22:02words often. What? It's definitely I
- 22:06love I love a bit of blues and a bit of
- 22:08jazz. Yeah, I say jazz sounds lovely.
- 22:11Grammy, do you like jazz of the ominous
- 22:13variety?
- 22:15I don't mind a bit of minor core.
- 22:18[Music]
- 22:20I pull out the trombone
- 22:26and I play along to the song that we're
- 22:27listening to on the gramophone. Roll of
- 22:31performance ch. Uh, so I'm I'm I'm a
- 22:34little new to this. Uh, I apologize for
- 22:37any rustiness. Uh, 17. It takes you a
- 22:41minute as you begin to play the trombone
- 22:43to get used to um, a lot of playing this
- 22:47instrument in your new form, but you
- 22:51find your rhythm and you begin to play
- 22:53along with the song that's playing very
- 22:55gently over the speakers in this car.
- 22:59and she looks at you and she smiles a
- 23:03bit as she begins to sway along to the
- 23:06music. And she eventually gets up out of
- 23:09her chair, swinging her hips from side
- 23:11to side as she walks over to the bar.
- 23:14She leans forward and grabs whiskey,
- 23:18pours herself a shot and downs it,
- 23:20knowing you knowing full well that she
- 23:22can't taste the alcohol. She It's as if
- 23:26she's done this many times before. And
- 23:28as she turns around, her entire persona
- 23:30has changed. The sadness about her has
- 23:35completely disappeared.
- 23:38As she begins to sing,
- 23:41she begins to sing these words.
- 23:44Impossible to think at all. Without the
- 23:47thought of you and me, it all would
- 23:50fall. Nothing left to hold the stars and
- 23:52seas apart. Ridiculous. There ever was a
- 23:55world without a you and me. To not
- 23:58recall a you at all would send it all
- 24:00crashing down. Floating over the storm,
- 24:03love as soft as a cloud. Incredible that
- 24:07through it all the dashed and broken
- 24:09stardust fell and settled into you and
- 24:12me and all the time we need. And as the
- 24:15song slowly comes to a close, you begin
- 24:19to see her form start to start to shift
- 24:23and it becomes even more incaporeal.
- 24:26She looks towards all of you as the
- 24:28final notes leave her lips and you watch
- 24:31as she completely dissipates into
- 24:34nothing. Having found whatever it was
- 24:36that she needed to that was holding her
- 24:38to this plane, you watch as the
- 24:41songstress moves on.
- 24:44That sadness that had been filling up
- 24:47this car completely dissipates. That
- 24:50weight that you had been feeling here is
- 24:52no longer present. And the car feels
- 24:56warmer. It feels lighter. It feels
- 24:58happier. And you remember the words that
- 25:00the vagrant told you that he had a fear
- 25:04of the of that tendril of magic that the
- 25:10um that the passenger had brought aboard
- 25:13the Ghost Light Express and the fear
- 25:15that it would affect these hints that
- 25:17were still holding on to something from
- 25:20their past lives. And you feel that you
- 25:23have done something right here in
- 25:24releasing the song bird from this the
- 25:26songstress. All right. I mean, spit it,
- 25:29man. Did I just kill somebody? That's
- 25:32what Tormbeck was worried about. But
- 25:34Tormbeck feels better now. Like, no.
- 25:37Everything is lighter. Well, she was
- 25:39already dead, man. I think he just kind
- 25:41of helped her. I don't know. It kind of

- 39:00at first seems completely empty. The
- 39:04comforting sounds of the music that were
- 39:07playing in the lounge car completely
- 39:09gone in this space. And you can hear the
- 39:14sound of that strange fog that is
- 39:18outside of the Ghost Light Express
- 39:20rushing past the wheels turnurning and
- 39:23moving. The sounds of the smoke stack
- 39:25belching,
- 39:27but that that sound of the the fog
- 39:31rolling by is so present. And then you
- 39:34realize
- 39:35that's not the sound of the fog. What is
- 39:38that noise? There is a strange almost
- 39:42airy noise that you can hear coming from
- 39:44somewhere in this baggage cart.

- 42:21significant amount of them in the
- 42:22baggage car. As you begin to move all of
- 42:24these pieces this way and that and
- 42:26eventually you see a flash of ghostly
- 42:28green as you realize behind a large
- 42:32stack of luggage is what looks to be a
- 42:35sleeping ghostly tiger.
- 42:38Its body in the form of a ghostly
- 42:41greenish flame. The flames flicking this
- 42:45way and that. Its beastial snoring now
- 42:49that you have moved some of the um
- 42:51luggage away is now significantly louder
- 42:53in this space. As you look down in it,
- 42:56you see that its tail is adorned with a
- 42:58hot iron ring.
- 43:01What? Hot iron ring. A hot iron ring.
- 43:04And where this this tiger is this
- 43:07spectral greenish flame, this iron ring
- 43:09looks to be fully corporeal.
- 43:14Given my I try to think back to who I
- 43:17was in life. I was a beast tamer in the
- 43:20circus. I don't know if I remember how
- 43:21much I remember and how fuzzy it is. I
- 43:23was a beast tamer. I knew about animals.
- 43:25I knew about monsters. Do I recognize

- 44:22stories of that sometimes the the other
- 44:25carnese would talk about um not wanting
- 44:28to go out in the swamps for fear that
- 44:31the spectral form of the the wild p
- 44:35would appear.

- 44:40completely made of flame. Oh, what?

- 1:14:45that the dining car is decorated with an
- 1:14:47eerie elegance with plush velvet booths,
- 1:14:49ornate brass fixtures, and wax candles
- 1:14:51casting a dim mystical glow. The air
- 1:14:54carries the scent of gourmet food,
- 1:14:56though the booths are mostly empty,
- 1:14:58haunted only by the faint traces of
- 1:15:01deceased diners. I almost said disease.

- 1:15:08remnants of the great spring sickness.
- 1:15:10You look around and these are not like
- 1:15:13the hints you've seen before. These are
- 1:15:16more spectral figures. These are these
- 1:15:18are entities similar to what you saw in
- 1:15:20the passenger car. Ones that had
- 1:15:22accepted their their death and they were
- 1:15:25prepared to move on. They're riding the
- 1:15:27train for the purposes of moving on to
- 1:15:29the next stage of their afterlife. all
- 1:15:32but one. Sitting towards the back of the
- 1:15:35dining car, you see a small boy, a
- 1:15:39smorgusborg of food laid out in front of
- 1:15:42him as he um is um apparently ordering
- 1:15:47food after food. And you notice that as
- 1:15:49he says things, more food appears in
- 1:15:51front of him, almost as if all he has to
- 1:15:53do is ask and he shall receive.
- 1:15:56All right. Uh meme rare set up. Let's
- 1:15:59go. All right, we got him. Steak and
- 1:16:02eggs. You're very good at that. Sit down
- 1:16:04first. I mean, we just got in. He was
- 1:16:06standing in the Troy doesn't even see a
- 1:16:08chef. Did you work at a diner? Is there
- 1:16:10any help here? You are standing next to
- 1:16:14one of these um one of these booth
- 1:16:17seating areas. As you call this out and
- 1:16:21it takes 30 seconds and a plate appears
- 1:16:24on the table in front of you. Um, on top
- 1:16:27of it is a a steaming um steak, medium
- 1:16:31rare, with sunny side up eggs. It looks
- 1:16:37delicious. You are incredibly hungry.
- 1:16:40You haven't eaten in a long time. Got to
- 1:16:43test this.
- 1:16:45Can't give that guy his last meal and
- 1:16:47make sure it tastes good, right? It's
- 1:16:49like they're going to run out of
- 1:16:53crazy. They might run out. No. And even
- 1:16:56I was going to notice a bite was missing
- 1:16:58to just order another plate. You don't
- 1:17:00know how stock this ghost before you.
- 1:17:03Oh, I take a big old bite of the steak.
- 1:17:05That could be ghost steak. A ghost egg.
- 1:17:06I cut off a big old chunk of this steak
- 1:17:08to see if it is medium and rare and how
- 1:17:09how delicious this is. You take a big
- 1:17:13bite of this steak and it's not real.
- 1:17:17It's spectral. You
- 1:17:21at first feel like you taste nothing,
- 1:17:24but there there are hints of the steak
- 1:17:26there. You look over towards the the
- 1:17:29small boy, the was clearly a hate on the
- 1:17:32opposite end, and you see that he's
- 1:17:34enjoying this in a way that you can't.
- 1:17:37You think about what the song just said
- 1:17:38to you in the first car, and you realize
- 1:17:40that there must be something special
- 1:17:41about this food. Though you aren't
- 1:17:44enjoying the steak the way it's meant to
- 1:17:45be is you've been reborn into a new
- 1:17:47body, you're not dead. This food is
- 1:17:51meant for those that are no longer
- 1:17:53living. And you imagine that
- 1:17:56the way that this tastes in your mouth,
- 1:17:58even though it's not what you were
- 1:17:59looking for, you imagine that the
- 1:18:01jailbird in the other in the other car
- 1:18:04would absolutely love this steak. All
- 1:18:07right, Torv's got good news and bad
- 1:18:09news.
- 1:18:10Bad news first. This steak and eggs
- 1:18:13tastes like another steak and eggs
- 1:18:14farted near it. That's as good as it
- 1:18:16gonna get.
- 1:18:18But Dorbeck believes that this might do
- 1:18:22it for the old hate back there. So it is
- 1:18:24ghost steak and ghost eggs. It's
- 1:18:26probably exactly what he wants. Yeah.

- 1:19:27I'm going to try to go backwards to see
- 1:19:28if I can go find that. You haven't
- 1:19:30attempted this before, but you make your
- 1:19:32way towards the back of the car from
- 1:19:34once you came. And you open the door
- 1:19:36expecting to step back into that same
- 1:19:39space between the cars, but you move
- 1:19:41directly from the dining car into the
- 1:19:43sleeper car. And you don't have to wait
- 1:19:47for anyone else to follow you. You
- 1:19:48listen and all is quiet except for the
- 1:19:51sounds of the snoring drusenvolves as
- 1:19:53you quickly make your way through the
- 1:19:54cars until you find yourself back into
- 1:19:58the baggage car. And you're immediately
- 1:20:00met with the sound of
- 1:20:03I open the door and I kind of stick my
- 1:20:05head in and I
- 1:20:09I put the ladies sticking hands on the
- 1:20:10ground and like see if I find a broom.
- 1:20:15Uh you you don't see a broom, but you
- 1:20:17see a really beautiful parasol that
- 1:20:19someone was using that's part of their
- 1:20:22luggage and you grab that and push it
- 1:20:23forward. I just kind of like
- 1:20:26slide the plate and you go. As the plate
- 1:20:28gets closer, the you can see the
- 1:20:31tendrils of scent wafting up from this
- 1:20:34steak. And as they hit his nostrils, the
- 1:20:37sound immediately stops and he looks up
- 1:20:40and you you see the look of of ravenous
- 1:20:44hunger on his face. He doesn't even look
- 1:20:45towards you as he dives forward and
- 1:20:48begins to just shovel this food into his
- 1:20:51mouth. You see bits of steak and eggs
- 1:20:52flying this way and that as he as he
- 1:20:55begins to eat it down. And as he is
- 1:20:58trying to tell you thank you over his
- 1:21:00mouth full of food. You watch as he
- 1:21:02disperses into nothing. And that feeling
- 1:21:05of anger and angryness that you were
- 1:21:08feeling in this uh in this train cart uh
- 1:21:11you realize had gotten much worse since
- 1:21:14you'd left. But in that instant it
- 1:21:16completely disperses. There's a moment
- 1:21:18where things are kind of quiet and I
- 1:21:20look around and I say,
- 1:21:23"You're going to rinse, you sick. I turn
- 1:21:26around and I start to head back to my
- 1:21:28friends." Uh,
- 1:21:31Meanwhile, we've all ordered steak and
- 1:21:32eggs.
- 1:21:34Well, you know, I can't really taste it.
- 1:21:38While we're waiting, does the kid What
- 1:21:39does the Does the kid look like he has
- 1:21:41some sort of negative emotion? No theme.
- 1:21:43The kid looks like he is. He very much
- 1:21:46looks like a hint. Um, and it's not
- 1:21:49necessarily that he looks like he has an
- 1:21:51emotion, but you all feel oddly guilty.
- 1:21:55As you're eating the steak and eggs, you
- 1:21:57you feel guilty that you get to move on
- 1:22:00and one day you can have actual steak
- 1:22:02and eggs. That you didn't die before
- 1:22:04your last meal. And you're enjoying this
- 1:22:07knowing that there are more meals to
- 1:22:08come. And that that hunger, that that
- 1:22:11eternal hunger that that hate was going
- 1:22:12to feel is not something you would ever
- 1:22:14have to feel. And normally you wouldn't
- 1:22:17feel guilty about this. That would be a
- 1:22:20a him problem and not a you problem. But
- 1:22:22there is something about this train car
- 1:22:24that is making you feel a similar level
- 1:22:26of guilt. Uh, hey kid.

- 1:31:26Musty water and old blood fills the air.
- 1:31:28What looks like a circus card. Rusting
- 1:31:31cages line the walls amidst the wooden
- 1:31:33crates painted in garish red and white
- 1:31:35stripes. The decor inside is a Macob
- 1:31:38spectacle of twisted whimsy with faded,
- 1:31:40tattered banners advertising various
- 1:31:43carnivals. Each one depicts unsettling
- 1:31:45clowns and terrifying animals, creating
- 1:31:47an atmosphere of horrific revalry that
- 1:31:49leaves an uneasy chill in your bones.
- 1:31:53This space is also loaded with cargo,
- 1:31:56but cargo that is clearly carrying the
- 1:32:00the tools and pieces of whatever this
- 1:32:02this carnival would be or whatever this
- 1:32:05circus would be. You see all of these
- 1:32:07cages lining the walls, empty cages that
- 1:32:09would have held things like the tiger,
- 1:32:12Chad, the
- 1:32:15in his in his former life when he was a
- 1:32:17corporeal creature, but now they remain
- 1:32:21empty.
- 1:32:23One thing, however, catches your eye. A
- 1:32:26collection of creepy marionettes is
- 1:32:28stuffed into an open chest in the corner
- 1:32:30of the car.
- 1:32:32There's something unsettling about them.
- 1:32:37And as you walk deeper into the train
- 1:32:40car, you're immediately met with yet
- 1:32:42again another overwhelming feeling.
- 1:32:45A feeling very similar to the one that
- 1:32:48you just experienced in the car before.
- 1:32:51feeling of guilt. But this is deeper.
- 1:32:54Like you have done something truly,
- 1:32:56truly awful. Something that you will
- 1:32:59never be able to make up for.
- 1:33:03Look at this fellas. It's like we're
- 1:33:05home.
- 1:33:07Was our was our carnival this ma?
- 1:33:11Well, the smell is very familiar. Ah,
- 1:33:14you're right. It's not quite the same
- 1:33:15theme. You know, really hit me with a

- 1:33:33home that's what I'm saying maybe are we
- 1:33:35doomed this is where we stay for
- 1:33:37eternity until we fall to despair and
- 1:33:41grief and it is as you say that that you
- 1:33:44realize that the feeling that you're
- 1:33:45feeling is not guilt it is so very
- 1:33:49similar similar to what you felt in the
- 1:33:51dining car. This feeling you know very

- 1:51:27tender.
- 1:51:29This car is an ironclad carriage bathed
- 1:51:31in hot wavering light. A large blackened
- 1:51:34fuel tank stands at its center with a
- 1:51:36small reinforced glass window revealing
- 1:51:38a sickly blue green glow within. The air
- 1:51:41vibrates with unnatural energy. And from
- 1:51:43deep within the tank, faint whispers
- 1:51:46rise, haunting disembodied voices. Iron
- 1:51:49pipes twist overhead, snaking their way
- 1:51:52from the tank to a ghastly furnace at
- 1:51:54the far end of the car.

- 1:51:58find yourself in this space.
- 1:52:03You are familiar with what this is
- 1:52:07already. This this is how this train
- 1:52:10runs and you had already been told what
- 1:52:14it runs on. That whailing that you hear,
- 1:52:16the wailing souls of the damned. Those
- 1:52:19hints that were never able to fully move
- 1:52:22on. Before this phantom train hopper
- 1:52:25made its way onto this train, they would
- 1:52:27have been filtered into this furnace and
- 1:52:29used as fuel to make the Ghost Light
- 1:52:31Express run. But now that that thing has
- 1:52:34made its way on here, you've had to help
- 1:52:36those entities move on to the afterlife,
- 1:52:39denying the Ghost Light Express its
- 1:52:41fuel, lest this space be corrupted. And
- 1:52:46you're looking here and you see
- 1:52:48everything looks just fine. He's running
- 1:52:52normally.

- 1:54:13tender. It couldn't. But it waited for
- 1:54:16you in the space between. And now that
- 1:54:18you've all moved in, it slinks in behind
- 1:54:21you and just as quickly darts in to the
- 1:54:24furnace. Branch-like tendrils of shadow
- 1:54:28whip out from the twisting pipes running
- 1:54:30along the ceiling, shattering the
- 1:54:31circular window of the storage tank and
- 1:54:33pouring into the iron capsule. The
- 1:54:35glowing soul coals darken to a ghastly
- 1:54:38near black green before violently
- 1:54:39shooting through the pipes and into the
- 1:54:41firebox as the fuel storage tank
- 1:54:43completely empties.
- 1:54:45The flame within rages. The Ghost Light
- 1:54:48Express groans mechanically just beyond
- 1:54:50the tender.
- 1:54:52The train begins to lurch
- 1:54:55as this entity
- 1:54:58completely twist and and transforms the
- 1:55:02the the engine of this train. The Ghost
- 1:55:05Light Express begins to twist and change
- 1:55:08too. Suddenly, the train shakes with
- 1:55:10turbulence and an earsplitting blare
- 1:55:12rings out. An instant later, there is a
- 1:55:14vicious jolt as the train comes to an
- 1:55:16abrupt and violent stop.
- 1:55:19You are, this is all happening in
- 1:55:22instance as you watch this um as you
- 1:55:25watch the furnace become corrupted. You
- 1:55:27are jostled this way and that almost as
- 1:55:30if the the train is being thrown um
- 1:55:33through the the fog around you. you are
- 1:55:36unable to uh keep yourself steady as
- 1:55:39you're thrown against wall from wall to
- 1:55:41wall as it almost feels like the Ghost
- 1:55:43Light Express is fighting back against
- 1:55:45this and eventually you feel it slam and
- 1:55:50stop
- 1:55:51as it comes to an abrupt violent stop.
- 1:55:53The sound of splintered wood and
- 1:55:55groaning steel fills the cab as the far
- 1:55:57wall rips free and you are ejected from
- 1:55:59the tender into the dark of night. The
- 1:56:02Ghost Light Express has crashed.
- 1:56:07The Ghost Light Express has crashed
- 1:56:10and you are in a place wholly unfamiliar
- 1:56:14to you.
- 1:56:16You are in a place that
- 1:56:20is shrouded
- 1:56:22with darkened trees all around you.
- 1:56:26The crescent moon that hangs above you
- 1:56:28is gargantuan, shedding a sickly milk
- 1:56:31light upon the surrounding forest. But
- 1:56:34aside from the size, it's the shape that
- 1:56:36fills you with unease as you all look up
- 1:56:39and you witness the haggarded visage of
- 1:56:41a crone learing down at you with mad
- 1:56:43eyes past a long bent nose and an
- 1:56:46everpresent grin filled with crooked
- 1:56:49teeth. The crooked moon is watching you.
- 1:57:00Oh my god. You
- 1:57:03guys got to calm down. Calm down. Calm
- 1:57:07down. Hey. Hey. We got to We got to calm
- 1:57:10down. We have to stay together on this.
- 1:57:14Okay. Stick together. You see this crazy
- 1:57:15floating lady up in the sky? Yeah. Is
- 1:57:17everybody okay?
- 1:57:19Who's alive? Oh gosh. Are you all right?
- 1:57:23You hear Adella's voice as Philillip um
- 1:57:25helps pull her um out of the wreckage.
- 1:57:28You see the vagrant has made his way
- 1:57:32over towards part of the uh broken
- 1:57:34portion of the Ghost Light Express. Um
- 1:57:37as he begins to move this way and that
- 1:57:39half-hazardly in in a in a a flurry as
- 1:57:44Adella rushes towards you. Oh gosh,
- 1:57:46you're screaming. Are you all right? Do
- 1:57:47you do you know what happened?
- 1:57:51The train crashed. Yeah, I mean somehow
- 1:57:54that that spooky shadow guy got Oh, no.
- 1:57:57That we don't know about. What? What
- 1:57:58happened? Well, are you guys okay? I
- 1:58:00mean, the whole train with thrown from
- 1:58:02the train. Yeah, I was I'm all right. I
- 1:58:04was sleeping at the time and so was
- 1:58:06Phil. We We just woke up abruptly when
- 1:58:09the train crashed and
- 1:58:11rushed outside when we heard you
- 1:58:13screaming. It doesn't seem like there's
- 1:58:14anyone else aboard the train and oh
- 1:58:16gosh, the train's in pieces. and she
- 1:58:19looks and you see that the train isn't
- 1:58:22connected, that the cars have spread all
- 1:58:25over this um portion of the forest that
- 1:58:28they are they've broken apart and have
- 1:58:30tumbled into the brush and the trees. Uh
- 1:58:32and it looks like the vagrant is um
- 1:58:36furiously working on the um the engine
- 1:58:38portion of the train. Also, we were
- 1:58:41screaming at that point to the horic
- 1:58:44moon. Oh yeah, the moon.
- 1:58:47Welcome to Drusinbolt.
- 1:58:49Oh, that's normal. Well, yeah. Like like
- 1:58:53all the time? Yeah, we're here. Yeah, at
- 1:58:57night, right? Only at night. Oh, it's
- 1:59:00always night here. No, so all the time.
- 1:59:03Yeah, but this isn't a portion of
- 1:59:07Truskin vault I'm familiar with. Oh
- 1:59:11gosh. Where did the train take us? He's
- 1:59:14not supposed to be here. Oh, no. It's
- 1:59:17supposed to make its way to one of the
- 1:59:20one of the the stations and it would let
- 1:59:21us off closer to Chateau Clear DeLoon
- 1:59:24and we'd take one of our carriages up to
- 1:59:26the house and I'm not sure which stop
- 1:59:28you would go to. Maybe you'd wind up in
- 1:59:29Chernabos or maybe you're going to
- 1:59:31Astramar.
- 1:59:33You know, maybe you're you're on your
- 1:59:34way to Pico. I'm not sure. You you're
- 1:59:36carnival folks, right? So, Pico sounds
- 1:59:38like the perfect place for you, but
- 1:59:40this is not where we're supposed to be.
- 1:59:44Uh, well, maybe we can get back on
- 1:59:47track. I think now that we've crashed,
- 1:59:49is I I hate to interrupt you, Miss
- 1:59:52Adela. The the Vagrant makes his way
- 1:59:54over to you, but I think it's going to
- 1:59:57be some time before I can get the Ghost
- 2:00:00Light Express up and running without
- 2:00:01some help. And I understand that this is
- 2:00:06scary and un unusual and uh we got to
- 2:00:10get this train up and running.
- 2:00:12What? What is this? And he looks down
- 2:00:14and you see these roots begin to climb
- 2:00:17up out of the ground and wind around the
- 2:00:20ghost express around the locomotive
- 2:00:22itself. And he reaches forward and he
- 2:00:25tries to rip some of them away, but more
- 2:00:27begin to climb out and begin supposed to
- 2:00:29happen. No, it ain't. But if we're going
- 2:00:32to get if we're going to get her up and
- 2:00:33running, we we got to get we got to get
- 2:00:36some more fuel in her tank. I I can at
- 2:00:37least get a couple parts of her going.
- 2:00:39We can we can get us on out of here. We
- 2:00:41we whatever's happened here, we can't we
- 2:00:43can't let it happen. Well, how do we I
- 2:00:45got I got three of my canisters. Um and
- 2:00:47he shows you these large canisters that
- 2:00:50glow with that same eerie green glow.
- 2:00:53We're We're going to need about six of
- 2:00:54them to make it work. I got three. Uh
- 2:00:56they should be pretty easy to spot if
- 2:00:58you look around this place. See See if
- 2:01:00you can find them. Bring them back. And
- 2:01:02you're talking about uh we need to go
- 2:01:03find hints and kill them and then put
- 2:01:05them into these canisters. Oh, no. The
- 2:01:07hints are already dead. They're already
- 2:01:08in the canisters. So, I just need you to
- 2:01:10get the canister and bring them back.
- 2:01:11Oh, we just we're just looking for the
- 2:01:12canisters. I see. I see.
- 2:01:15Yeah, we can check the road. I always I
- 2:01:17always have some excess in store for
- 2:01:19emergencies. But with the the extent of
- 2:01:21that crash, they they could be anywhere
- 2:01:23in in this uh in this grove. Well, if we
- 2:01:25flew out this direction and you know,
- 2:01:27maybe the trajectory of them probably a
- 2:01:29lot of them. I'll work with uh with the
- 2:01:31Lord and Lady here to try and get as
- 2:01:33much of the train back together as we
- 2:01:35can fight off some of these branches and
- 2:01:36whatever they're doing. If you can find
- 2:01:37that that uh the fuel, we'll try and get
- 2:01:40out of here as quickly as we can. Okay.

- 2:02:21just I wrote a 20 and then you said
- 2:02:23natural 20. Like literally on this
- 2:02:25paper, I just wrote it. You forced it.

- 2:02:31I rolled a nine and got an eight. Oh
- 2:02:34boy. So, you got two high rolls, a
- 2:02:36couple I know that we don't always do
- 2:02:38automatic critical successes. So, I have
- 2:02:41a 27. Nice. Um, and you notice that um,
- 2:02:46uh, Phil is helping the vagrant as they,
- 2:02:49uh, attempt to, uh, do whatever needs to
- 2:02:51be done to this train to clear. It looks
- 2:02:52like they're trying to clear away uh,
- 2:02:55any remnants of these creeping vines
- 2:02:57away from the firebox as Adella moves
- 2:03:00towards you and attempts to assist you.
- 2:03:02And with the six of you working
- 2:03:04together, it takes maybe 15 minutes um
- 2:03:0815 minutes to half an hour for you to
- 2:03:11find these um to find the rest of these
- 2:03:14soul canisters. Um and during this time,
- 2:03:16the work is not difficult. You're able
- 2:03:18to enjoy a short rest. Thank
- 2:03:22God. And as as you do so, you you don't
- 2:03:26talk much. you're you're focused on
- 2:03:29this, still listening to um listening
- 2:03:33back to uh to Philillip and the vagrant
- 2:03:36talking. You you can hear the fear in
- 2:03:38the vagrant's voice as he's working to
- 2:03:40um to get the firebox up and running to
- 2:03:44consume this fuel. Um and eventually you
- 2:03:47all meet back and you're able to bring
- 2:03:49the fuel back to the vagrant.

- 2:03:54We found it. It's kind of like one of
- 2:03:56those glow sticks that you like crack
- 2:03:58and we're like in the middle of the
- 2:03:59summer. Oh, be careful. You're going to
- 2:04:01break that and then we're going to lose
- 2:04:02some of our tool. All right, come over
- 2:04:04here and let's let's uh um I'll pour let

- 2:05:19Tuesday from a certain point of view
- 2:05:21from a certain point of view. He was a
- 2:05:24good friend. Gideon finally read the
- 2:05:25letters. I don't know. Uh he pours in
- 2:05:27the first soul canister and a strange
- 2:05:30grinding noise begins to happen within
- 2:05:32the the vagrant looks a little
- 2:05:34concerned, but you hear him mumbling to
- 2:05:36himself that you know the this has never
- 2:05:38happened before and the tank is empty
- 2:05:40and it's it's going to take more to get
- 2:05:42it up and running. Uh as Phil Phil's
- 2:05:45lets loose the the next one. Uh, Frost,
- 2:05:48you step up and let loose the third one.
- 2:05:50It is in this moment
- 2:05:53that a thunderous roar shatters the
- 2:05:55stillness and the ground trembles as the
- 2:05:57ghostlike locomotive tears free from the
- 2:06:00foilage that's trying to encase it. You
- 2:06:03notice too late the final branch-like
- 2:06:05tendrils of the phantom train hoppers
- 2:06:07lingering remnants slithering into the
- 2:06:09ghastly smoke stack of the enormous
- 2:06:11engine. With a cacophinous groaning and
- 2:06:13creaking, the locomotive charges changes
- 2:06:16before your eyes, sprouting a malevolent
- 2:06:18face with burning ghastly eyes filled
- 2:06:20with wickedness. Now a truly monstrous
- 2:06:23and haunted construct, it spins around
- 2:06:25and thunders towards you. I need you all
- 2:06:28to roll for initial
- 2:06:32with a natural 20 and a plus one. I got
- 2:06:34a 21. Before we resolve this, can I use
- 2:06:37my Azureorn ability to give two people
- 2:06:39advantage? Oh, because of my I would
- 2:06:42love it if you're old very low. I can't
- 2:06:44do any better. So, give the advantage.
- 2:06:46I'm going to give my advantage to Cremy
- 2:06:47G. But I am able to enjoy this benefit
- 2:06:50because I have glimpse of fate. I got a
- 2:06:5310. I got a eight. I rolled a natural
- 2:06:55one. I have a three. As the third of the
- 2:06:58soul cans was poured into the ghost
- 2:07:00light locomotive and it begin to
- 2:07:02transform. Um, those of you, all of you
- 2:07:05are thrown back a little bit and those
- 2:07:07of you that are holding on to the three
- 2:07:08remaining soul cans, you feel them fly
- 2:07:11out of your arms with the impact and
- 2:07:13they land uh haphazardly around this
- 2:07:17outcropping as the Ghost Light Express
- 2:07:20rears up in front of you. Um, you are
- 2:07:23staring down at this thing. uh as the
- 2:07:27creepy smile on its face is looking at
- 2:07:29each of you. Not just the hagmoon in the
- 2:07:32air above you looking down at you, but
- 2:07:34also this train with its uh horrible
- 2:07:38crooked grin as it stares out at you.
- 2:07:41And even though it essentially got the
- 2:07:44jump on you, tore back, you are much
- 2:07:45faster and you are able to um you are
- 2:07:48able to strike first. Awesome. Uh, since
- 2:07:51I took a short rest, uh, my strength has
- 2:07:53returned to normal, uh, from our very
- 2:07:55first encounter in this adventure. Um,
- 2:07:57and as my first action on my turn, I'm
- 2:08:00going to, uh, rage. I'm going to use my
- 2:08:02barbarian rage. Uh, you will all kind of
- 2:08:04see the tanks on my back begin to glow a
- 2:08:07little bit brighter. This mysterious
- 2:08:08liquid that is a part of my experiment
- 2:08:10nature. Uh, and as I rage, I will use my
- 2:08:14volatile serum to again choose
- 2:08:16monstrosity as my limbs begin to grow
- 2:08:19and my flesh kind of undulates as I
- 2:08:22become a large creature. Uh, and you
- 2:08:25notice again as Torb's voice uh changes
- 2:08:28and this voice that comes out from Torb
- 2:08:30says, "Oh, I'm back for more fun. What's
- 2:08:33all this then?" and he charges forward
- 2:08:37uh to attempt to attack this insane
- 2:08:39monstrosity of a of a of a uh a
- 2:08:42locomotive. Trad
- 2:08:47slashing attack with my natural claws.
- 2:08:49Okay, that's a 24 to hit. Uh that's
- 2:08:51going to be a total of 10 points of
- 2:08:54slashing damage as I try to rake my
- 2:08:58unnatural experiment claws across the
- 2:09:00metal grate that this face has formed
- 2:09:02in. I'm not done yet. You rake your
- 2:09:06claws into the metal of the Ghost Light
- 2:09:08Express. You hear the the iron grinding
- 2:09:11as your your claws sink into it. You you
- 2:09:14watch as the metal peels back. Uh and
- 2:09:17the locomotive uh the the spectral plume
- 2:09:20that's billowing out of the stack whales
- 2:09:23in pain as you do this damage to it. But
- 2:09:26just in the same way that you were able
- 2:09:28to shrank off the decrease in your
- 2:09:30strength with your short rest, there is
- 2:09:33something about this area. This is this
- 2:09:37place now belongs to the ghost light
- 2:09:39locomotive. Oh, and there is something
- 2:09:43about this place that though you rested
- 2:09:47has taken an effect in all of you. And I
- 2:09:49need you all to roll a uh constitution
- 2:09:52saving throw. Oh no.
- 2:09:54Uhoh.
- 2:09:56Okay. 18. Oh, wait. Does Do we still
- 2:09:58have bless does that help? There you do.
- 2:10:00Oh, it's a saving throw. We have bless.
- 2:10:03Hooray. Nice.
- 2:10:0622. Uhoh. 22. 10.
- 2:10:10I got a 20. Dirty 20.
- 2:10:1322. 10. Three of you feel this strange
- 2:10:20energy that's emanating from the Ghost
- 2:10:22Light Express. seems to spread out um
- 2:10:24deep into the woods around you. Um but
- 2:10:27you are able to shrug it off. Cremy and
- 2:10:31Frost, however, you're not. And you feel
- 2:10:34weakened
- 2:10:36while in this place. You are overcome by
- 2:10:41this ghastly shroud and you
- 2:10:45you don't know it yet, but for the sake
- 2:10:47of game state, you will only take half
- 2:10:51from any healing that is done to you
- 2:10:53while you are within a mile. Then I'm a
- 2:10:55wizard of the ghost light. Wow. Oh no. A
- 2:10:59mile? That's not very far. That's a
- 2:11:03mile. Oh my gosh. That's just fine. I
- 2:11:06will uh what does that feel like? Is it
- 2:11:10you It feels like something has sapped
- 2:11:13your strength. You feel like just the
- 2:11:16very air around you is difficult to
- 2:11:18breathe. Like this ghostly shroud, this
- 2:11:20plume of specters that's being belched
- 2:11:22forth from the smoke stack on this
- 2:11:24locomotive is hindering your ability to
- 2:11:28to exist. I
- 2:11:31there's the smoke and and this sort of
- 2:11:35spectral ghastly just fire and er that's
- 2:11:39in my lungs as I'm struggling to catch
- 2:11:41my breath. And I'm going to stumble
- 2:11:45again.
- 2:11:46How are we going to stop this thing? And
- 2:11:48I'll pull out my pistol and I'm going to
- 2:11:51fire a shot at it. Um seven to hit. I
- 2:11:55miss my shot as I as I cough and almost
- 2:11:58fall to one knee and kind of back up a
- 2:12:01little bit as I'm a little freaked out
- 2:12:03about this thing. You take a shot at the
- 2:12:06locomotive and it rears back on these
- 2:12:09spectral rails and looks towards all of
- 2:12:13you. I need everyone that is within a
- 2:12:1630ft cone of the ghost light locomotive.
- 2:12:19All of us. All of us. Easy. I need you
- 2:12:21all to make a Constitution saving throw.
- 2:12:24Sure. Okay. Uh-oh. I got a 10, which I
- 2:12:30assume will fail. If it does, I'd like
- 2:12:32to use one of my curse features. Oo, I'm
- 2:12:37going to use gray balance. When I fail a
- 2:12:39saving throw, I can take a reaction to
- 2:12:41succeed instead. When I do, I have
- 2:12:44disadvantage on d20 tests until the end
- 2:12:47of my next turn. I can use this trait
- 2:12:48once, and I regain the ability to do so
- 2:12:50when I finish a long rest. So, I'm going
- 2:12:51to turn that failure into success. Dang.
- 2:12:53Wow. I as I kind of bristle and my fur
- 2:12:57will kind of stick up on the back of my
- 2:12:58neck as I try to channel this innate
- 2:13:01nature of resistance to whatever this is
- 2:13:03happening to you. That's like legendary
- 2:13:05resistance with a cost. Yeah, that's
- 2:13:07nice. So you you passed. What did you
- 2:13:09get, Frost? 23 11 Seven for me. Uh
- 2:13:1514. Uh the DC was 13. Oh. Uh so anyone
- 2:13:19who fails is going to take full damage.
- 2:13:22Anyone who uh succeeds takes half
- 2:13:24damage. Um you watch as the ghost light
- 2:13:27mo locomotive rears forward. The great
- 2:13:30opens up on its face and it lets out a
- 2:13:34blast of spiritual exhaust as all of you
- 2:13:36are washed uh are washed over by these
- 2:13:40whailing specters that eat away at your
- 2:13:43flesh. The necroantic energy burns at
- 2:13:46you as your skin begins to blacken and
- 2:13:48darken beneath um beneath the heat of
- 2:13:51the spiritual wailing. 15 15 for anyone
- 2:13:55who uh failed and half for 15 for anyone
- 2:13:58who failed. Yeah. Half for half if you
- 2:14:01succeeded. Oh, I see. I succeeded. So,
- 2:14:05what variety of damage? Uh necrotic.
- 2:14:08Okay. I can't resist that.
- 2:14:11Uh-oh. Gria, I am going to uh stumble
- 2:14:16back as offsite. Oh gosh, the train
- 2:14:18alive. Trains alive. Hoochie, help me.
- 2:14:20Help me. Help me. Help me. Help me
- 2:14:21Hoochie. Help me. Hootsie. Oh, come on
- 2:14:23Hoochie. Give your papa some good luck.
- 2:14:25I am going to uh cast a crooked moon
- 2:14:29spell. I am going to be uh I'm going to
- 2:14:31cast ancestral communion. Is a first
- 2:14:34level spell. Uh, I invoke the wisdom of
- 2:14:37uh, my ancestors to gain insight into my
- 2:14:39trials. When you cast the spell at the
- 2:14:40start of each of your turns for the
- 2:14:42duration, uh, you gain heroic
- 2:14:43inspiration if you don't already have
- 2:14:44it. I'm going to take a heroic
- 2:14:46inspiration right now.
- 2:14:49Wow. And cuz I need to survive this. And
- 2:14:51I'm presuming I would not be surprised
- 2:14:53if necrotic damage doesn't do do too
- 2:14:56well for this guy. So, I don't know.

- 2:14:59No, it's not. It's not. uh Hootsie will
- 2:15:02kind of uh linger almost uh half uh in
- 2:15:05reality and half not as she circles
- 2:15:07around me and I feel uh inspired by
- 2:15:09Hootsie uh my my shadowy owl bear being
- 2:15:12with me as I gain uh her guidance. It is
- 2:15:15going to use a uh legendary action and
- 2:15:18it is going to move 25 ft or as much as
- 2:15:23it needs to to get into Frost's space.
- 2:15:26Oh yeah. It does not take opportunities
- 2:15:28opportunity attacks as is as it moves
- 2:15:31along its spectral rails and it is going
- 2:15:35to it it will grapple you uh against the
- 2:15:38spectral rails. You watch you watch as
- 2:15:41Frost is grappled by this thing. He is
- 2:15:44attached to the great at the front of no
- 2:15:49and uh it should be within 10 ft I
- 2:15:52believe of a soul can. Yes. Oh yeah.
- 2:15:55Wow. Exactly. Exactly. You watch as it
- 2:15:59as it consumes this soul can, the damage
- 2:16:02that you've done to it seems to repair
- 2:16:05itself um almost immediately. Um and it
- 2:16:10begins to uh the the wheels begin to
- 2:16:12chug faster and faster and faster. It
- 2:16:14seems significantly more powerful. Does
- 2:16:15anything happen to me if I was in front
- 2:16:17of it and it moved? It ran him over. You
- 2:16:20would also be grappled.
- 2:16:22Um the escape DC is 14. So on your turn,
- 2:16:24you can attempt to escape. Yeah, but
- 2:16:26you're not restrained, right? No, just
- 2:16:28grappled. Oh. You watch as the the Ghost
- 2:16:31Light Express consumes this soul can and
- 2:16:34regains its strength, emboldens itself.
- 2:16:37And then you watch as from the smoke
- 2:16:40stack, a wisp appears out and shoots
- 2:16:42back to the spot where the soul can had
- 2:16:44been. A spectral hint appears looking
- 2:16:48weakened, but this is clearly enraged.
- 2:16:51This is you. You can see immediately
- 2:16:53that this is what would have happened to
- 2:16:54all of those people that you had met on
- 2:16:56the train had you left them to be
- 2:16:58consumed by we don't recognize this hate

- 2:17:23very hard. Hey, look out. Um and I will
- 2:17:28uh I'm going to cast my my great axe out
- 2:17:31to the side, and for a moment, the blade
- 2:17:34will catch the gleaming light of the
- 2:17:36moon as it shines down. Uh and I will
- 2:17:38cast the hungering blade, and for one
- 2:17:41minute, I'm going to imbue a weapon that
- 2:17:43I'm holding uh with uh ravenous negative
- 2:17:47energy. Uh, for the duration when I hit
- 2:17:50a creature with an attack using the
- 2:17:51empowered weapon, for the first time on
- 2:17:53a turn, it'll take necrotic damage equal
- 2:17:56to my spell-casting ability modifier,
- 2:17:58and I will gain temporary hit points
- 2:18:01equal to the damage dealt. Uh, and I'm
- 2:18:03going to roll forward. Uh, and I'm going
- 2:18:05to I'm going to try and run. I don't
- 2:18:07know if this like will do anything or if
- 2:18:08this matters, but I'm going to run kind
- 2:18:10of like toward at the train towards the
- 2:18:12section where Frost and Torbbeck are
- 2:18:15scooped up. And I'm gonna try and just
- 2:18:17like, you know, not hit them, but like
- 2:18:19attack very close. And if there's
- 2:18:20anything that looks like they're very
- 2:18:22like caught up in it that I could kind
- 2:18:24of like strike towards and maybe help
- 2:18:26them out, I'd like to kind of aim in
- 2:18:28that direction. Pick one of them.

- 2:18:33say you'll have advantage on escape DC
- 2:18:36because of what Gideon's doing to try. I

- 2:19:02three necrotic damage. And however much
- 2:19:04it that actually happens, if it is in
- 2:19:06fact resistant, I'll all uh it does
- 2:19:08appear to be resistant. You attempt the
- 2:19:10necrotic damage and a little bit of it
- 2:19:12takes but so just so cuz I get the temp
- 2:19:15HP. Does it like what does it actually
- 2:19:17take? Is it take one point of damage? So
- 2:19:19it would be half is it half rounded up?
- 2:19:22Rounded down. Down round. So one point
- 2:19:25five points of great axe damage. You
- 2:19:29slash into it and you watch as the the
- 2:19:31metal peels back similar to when Torb
- 2:19:33had slashed at it. As this happens, the
- 2:19:36whailing of the smoke stack turns into
- 2:19:38the sound of a haunting whistle as it's
- 2:19:40going to use another one of its
- 2:19:41legendary actions. Uh, and it's it
- 2:19:44begins to blow this haunting steam
- 2:19:46whistle. Um, I need one creature within
- 2:19:5030 ft. Uh, in retaliation to you, I need
- 2:19:53you to make wisdom saving throw, Gideon.
- 2:19:55Oh, boy. Very wise. Better than you than
- 2:19:58me.
- 2:20:02[Music]
- 2:20:04is saving three. You're blessed. You're
- 2:20:05blessed. Blessed. Too blessed to be
- 2:20:07stressed. Not going to matter. I'm
- 2:20:09pretty stressed. You know, bless is

- 2:20:29I'm going to speak to my new friends on

- 2:20:33to the aberrations, the eldrich powers,
- 2:20:35all the things that I've been holding at
- 2:20:37bay for so long in my mortal life. I'm
- 2:20:39going to tell them that the gods are

- 2:20:43going to unleash them on the
- 2:20:46ghost.

- 2:20:57energy uh basically opening portals. But
- 2:21:00uh in addition to the fact that it has
- 2:21:02to make a wisdom saving throw, I am
- 2:21:04going to use my intrusion to uh force it
- 2:21:09uh to have disadvantage on this saving
- 2:21:10throw using overwhelming mind. Uh the DC
- 2:21:15is 13. Okay, so it got a natural 14 for
- 2:21:18its first one. It's going to use a
- 2:21:20legendary resistance and 16. Oh, okay.
- 2:21:22Uh I believe you still take half as
- 2:21:24much. So, instead of all the additional
- 2:21:26benefits, I need a d8, not a d6. You
- 2:21:29take seven points of psychic damage.
- 2:21:31Ghost uh train you. I will say um help.
- 2:21:35Oh my gosh, I'm caught in a spectral
- 2:21:37rail train.
- 2:21:41I'm not going to use my action to do any
- 2:21:44uh uh I can't because I've used it in
- 2:21:45this spell. I can't escape. I don't have
- 2:21:47any bonus actions. That's it. I'm just
- 2:21:48I'm just stuck in this uh ethereal uh uh
- 2:21:52rail fog. It is going to use its next
- 2:21:55legendary, its final legendary action.
- 2:21:58Um, and it's going to use ghostly rails
- 2:22:00again. It's going to turn and it's going
- 2:22:02to run through all of you and try and
- 2:22:04get to Grio and see how many of you it
- 2:22:08can attach to the rails. I mean, it's
- 2:22:09definitely all of us. I think it's all
- 2:22:11of us. A larger, smaller creature whose
- 2:22:14space it passes through has the grappled
- 2:22:16condition. I'm I'm going to yell out.
- 2:22:17He's going for the soul cans.
- 2:22:22The real
- 2:22:26ismy grapples everyone. Yeah. Yeah. We
- 2:22:29just get picked up on this train. It's
- 2:22:31almost like it's a train.
- 2:22:35And that is its legendary action. Tour
- 2:22:37back. Yeah. So, if I have to use my
- 2:22:39action to escape the grapple, I'm not
- 2:22:42going to do that cuz I will lose rage.
- 2:22:43Mhm. So, I am just going to keep
- 2:22:45attacking. I'm stuck to the glare of
- 2:22:47this thing. You're not disadvantaged as
- 2:22:48long as you attack this guy. Oh, I'm not
- 2:22:50going down like this. And uh I will use
- 2:22:53a bonus action to change the serum that
- 2:22:56I'm actively using to reconstruction. Uh
- 2:23:00the serum dulls pain and forces wounds
- 2:23:02to rapidly knit. Upon activation, and at
- 2:23:04the start of each of my turns, I can
- 2:23:06expend and roll a hit point die. I will
- 2:23:08regain a number of hit points equal to
- 2:23:10the number rolled plus my constitution
- 2:23:11modifier with a minimum of one hit
- 2:23:13point. Any that I gain in excess beyond
- 2:23:15my hit point maximum will become
- 2:23:16temporary hit points. So, I'm going to
- 2:23:18start by rolling a d12 and adding three.
- 2:23:21So, that's going to be 13 points of
- 2:23:22healing. Uh, I only needed to heal seven
- 2:23:25to get to max. So, that's going to give
- 2:23:27me an additional five temporary hit
- 2:23:29points. I also am no longer large. Uh, I
- 2:23:32shrink back down to a normal size. I
- 2:23:34lose my reach. I I look more normal
- 2:23:37again. Uh, and now while I'm stuck to
- 2:23:39the great, I'm going to pull back and
- 2:23:40attempt to uh uh slash again at this at
- 2:23:44this spectral train. Uh, I will attack
- 2:23:46recklessly, but because I use my gray
- 2:23:48balance, I will be at just normal
- 2:23:50straight up because I'm disadvantaged in
- 2:23:52all d20 tests until the end of my turn.
- 2:23:56And that is going to be a 22 to hit.
- 2:23:58That hits nice, dude. And I will do a
- 2:24:00total. If it doesn't, then we're in
- 2:24:01trouble. 10 points of slashing damage
- 2:24:04again. Oh, I'm just like screaming
- 2:24:07trying to slash this thing. But you do
- 2:24:09notice that the wounds, that blackened
- 2:24:11hair, the flesh, uh, starts to heal up a
- 2:24:13little bit. Um, if you deal fire acid
- 2:24:16damage to me, it will not trigger the
- 2:24:17start of my turn. Amazing. So, he
- 2:24:19basically looks like Warwick from That's
- 2:24:22right. You are slicing into this. So,
- 2:24:25you're furiously digging your claws into
- 2:24:27the the the great of the ghost light
- 2:24:29locomotive. You see bits of the of the
- 2:24:32grill being ripped off as more spectral
- 2:24:35energy is spilling out of it now. Um,
- 2:24:38and it is its turn. Um, it is going to
- 2:24:43first see if spirit exhaust recharges
- 2:24:46and it doesn't. It's going to rail slam
- 2:24:48against you to back. I'm already tank
- 2:24:50this thing. I'm in tank mode. It is. It
- 2:24:52has advantage because it it does it
- 2:24:55consumed the soul can. Yep. Oh, it also
- 2:24:58and yeah, I reckon Oh, yeah. Okay. Uh,
- 2:25:01it is definitely going to hit. Yeah, my
- 2:25:03AC is only 14. It's going to do 11
- 2:25:05points of bludgeoning damage. Awesome. I
- 2:25:07will take half cuz I'm resistant. You
- 2:25:08are thrown off of the rails 10 ft away
- 2:25:12from it in a straight line.
- 2:25:17The hint is going to move towards
- 2:25:19whatever it's closest to and it will be
- 2:25:21it will be right behind you, Creremy.
- 2:25:23Um, looking at you spooky. Super dead.
- 2:25:26Yeah, I'm hearing all of this ominous
- 2:25:28jazz in my head and all of a sudden I
- 2:25:30start to kind of feel the the the the
- 2:25:33rhythm and the song fill my ears and all
- 2:25:36I can do in this dow moment is to
- 2:25:39celebrate our impending doom as I pull
- 2:25:41out my trombone.
- 2:25:47Trombone's all I know. I will use my
- 2:25:50species trait um called dance of death.
- 2:25:54It's a bonus action. I can make a DC-15
- 2:25:56charisma, musical, instrument, and
- 2:25:58performance check. If I succeed, the
- 2:26:00next attack roll you make before the end
- 2:26:02of your turn has advantage. If I succeed
- 2:26:04on the check by five or more, I can roll
- 2:26:06one of my hit point dice without
- 2:26:07expending it and gain 10 HP equal to the
- 2:26:10number rolled.
- 2:26:12Very high. One of my very favorite
- 2:26:14abilities.
- 2:26:16I failed. Uh-oh. Uh, yeah, I fail. I
- 2:26:19have to roll a 10 to succeed. My
- 2:26:22pistol's in my belt. I put my put my
- 2:26:25trombone away and I just in my breast uh
- 2:26:30coat pocket I pull out a dagger just
- 2:26:34desperate and I stab it into the side of
- 2:26:36the train. You'll see runes and sort of
- 2:26:39uh Jinx craft glyphs uh fill in as I
- 2:26:42won't be disadvantaged and so sneak
- 2:26:44attack will actually trigger a 17 to
- 2:26:46hit. That hits. Nice. Let's go. Let's
- 2:26:48go. Let's go. Um and it is going to
- 2:26:51glow. We're all around you. So
- 2:26:53presumably you get sneak attack.
- 2:26:56So seven piercing damage, but then the
- 2:26:59sneak attack damage, the Jinxcraft magic
- 2:27:02will transfer through
- 2:27:06uh the uh the dagger into the side. As I
- 2:27:10roll the seven, I'm going to use my Jinx
- 2:27:13craft um feature called Hexslinger. Uh,
- 2:27:17so until the end of the target's next
- 2:27:19turn, the target speed is h haveved and
- 2:27:21for that duration, attack rolls against
- 2:27:22it have advantage. Nice. So I got cheap
- 2:27:25shots in my in my hexlinger. Um, and so
- 2:27:28that is another seven points of damage.
- 2:27:31So 14 damage total. 14 damage. What
- 2:27:33type? All piercing. It is going to use a
- 2:27:38legendary action. Do you watch as it
- 2:27:40regains um a significant amount of
- 2:27:44health as it consumes the soul canister
- 2:27:47and then once again that mode of
- 2:27:49spectral light appears out of it and
- 2:27:51where that soul canister had been
- 2:27:53another hint appears. There is we
- 2:27:55can do about this.
- 2:27:58Uh my turn. Uh I want to Oh, we're going
- 2:28:01with it. Oh, how do we go? There's
- 2:28:03spooky ghosts everywhere. Okay, Hoochie.
- 2:28:05Come on. Let's kill these spooky ghosts.
- 2:28:07As I call forth Hootzie, I use Omen of
- 2:28:09Doom on uh
- 2:28:12I'm going to use Omen of Doom on this
- 2:28:14guy here. I mark him as Hootsie uh
- 2:28:17emerges from the shadows. And as part of
- 2:28:20that bonus action, I command her to
- 2:28:22attack as she is going to attack this uh
- 2:28:25hint. Do that. Oo, baby. 14 to hit. Is
- 2:28:29this the first hint that appeared or the
- 2:28:31second one? The first. The first hint.
- 2:28:33Okay. Yep. That hits. Okay. 12 points of
- 2:28:35necronic damage to uh this this weward
- 2:28:38hint. You watch as Hootsie slices into
- 2:28:43this thing and it doesn't seem to be
- 2:28:44shrugging off any of the damage. And you
- 2:28:47watch as in one swipe she obliterates
- 2:28:50this thing and it turns into spectral
- 2:28:53dust and disperses throughout this area.
- 2:28:55And as it disperses, you see, although
- 2:28:58she's still kind of cute in her like
- 2:28:59shadowy form, her eyes narrow and she
- 2:29:01slinks back into the shadows as uh this
- 2:29:05I've killed this one. I then turn and I
- 2:29:08levy my crossbow at this one as I pull
- 2:29:11the trigger as my action. Oh, big.
- 2:29:14That's 13 plus
- 2:29:16that hits. It's just a basic crossbow
- 2:29:18because he does not have my omen of doom
- 2:29:20and so it's just going to be 1d10
- 2:29:22piercing. Uh plus three piercing. Yeah.
- 2:29:24Oh, 13 points of piercing damage.
- 2:29:27Maxamage as I am I guess up against this
- 2:29:29rail grappled as I'm I'm doing crowd uh
- 2:29:32I'm managing the the mobs. That's right.
- 2:29:34Mhm. You watch as the um as the bolt
- 2:29:38pierces into its spectral flesh. And
- 2:29:41though it sinks in, it's very clear to
- 2:29:43you immediately that it's not doing the
- 2:29:45amount of damage that you expect it to
- 2:29:46be. It's still taking some damage. It's
- 2:29:48what? It's still taking some damage.
- 2:29:50It's still taking some damage. Um, it is
- 2:29:53barely hanging on. You watch as it as it
- 2:29:56leans forward. It was already weakened,
- 2:29:58but you can see now as this um spectral
- 2:30:01white er begins to spill out of its
- 2:30:03ears, its eyes, and its mouth as it
- 2:30:06begins to cough up this uh spectral
- 2:30:08bile. Uh, and it is not looking good.
- 2:30:11Many hints. I'll handle it.
- 2:30:14That's my turn. Nice. Uh, it is going to
- 2:30:17use a legendary action. Um, and it is
- 2:30:20going to turn towards you, Bricko. You
- 2:30:24watch as it it almost looks between
- 2:30:27where the one hint was obliterated and
- 2:30:30the one that's barely holding on, and
- 2:30:32you watch as it uh it lets out another
- 2:30:34haunting whistle. I need you to roll a
- 2:30:36wisdom saving throw for me, please. I'm
- 2:30:38going to use my wisdom saving throw, and
- 2:30:40I'm going to use my heroic inspiration
- 2:30:42as well. 13 13 passes. Wow. The DC is
- 2:30:4613. Oh,
- 2:30:49that was close. You do not take any
- 2:30:51damage. You are able to shrug off the
- 2:30:54sound of this. And you um as this
- 2:30:56happens, it's almost as if the the
- 2:30:58whistle on the train malfunctions and it
- 2:31:01doesn't seem like it is uh able to
- 2:31:03utilize this again as it works to repair
- 2:31:06itself. Nice try, Gideon. I think uh
- 2:31:11I'm going to cast cure wounds.
- 2:31:14Always wise. I'm going to cast cure
- 2:31:16wounds. It's a great spell, folks. It's
- 2:31:18a really good spell. Yeah, it's looking
- 2:31:19pretty good right now. It's looking
- 2:31:21pretty good right about now.
- 2:31:24I I guess that's it. I'm I'm still stuck
- 2:31:27on the train. Uh but you'll see this
- 2:31:29this silver light uh in my hand. It
- 2:31:32almost feels like it it dances like a
- 2:31:34flame as I'll press my palm to my chest.
- 2:31:37Uh and I'll and I'll feel that uh that
- 2:31:39burning glory of the silver path. Also,
- 2:31:42lay on hands there just for another
- 2:31:43five. A big heel. Yeah, big throw in
- 2:31:46just as one action, the silver. It seems
- 2:31:48to react to the healing that you're
- 2:31:50doing. And it turns and I mean, this is
- 2:31:54this is just flavor. You do what you're
- 2:31:55doing. It's just going to use a
- 2:31:56legendary uh it last legendary action.
- 2:31:59Um and it's going to turn around and
- 2:32:01it's going to head its speed, which is
- 2:32:0312 ft um towards um the next soul
- 2:32:08canister. I'm going to use frostbite
- 2:32:10because I means that I can force you to
- 2:32:12make a constitution saving throw. Um I
- 2:32:15reach into the uh beyond. I open portals
- 2:32:20and this numbing frost starts to uh uh
- 2:32:23crush the sides of this spectral train.
- 2:32:27Uh DC13 20. I'm going to I'm going to
- 2:32:31force you to have disadvantage on that
- 2:32:32by using my uh intrusion ability once
- 2:32:35again. I think I think he wouldn't he
- 2:32:38wouldn't want to take whatever this is.
- 2:32:39So, I'm going to legendary. He feels he
- 2:32:41feels the m of the beyond. Uh that said,
- 2:32:45instead of taking 1d6 cold damage and
- 2:32:47having disadvantage on his next weapon
- 2:32:49attack, I will roll this intrusion die
- 2:32:52and not get a one. That's correct. I do
- 2:32:55not get a one. But this drops now to a
- 2:32:57d2. D2. Yikes.

- 2:33:16hit points. Nice. Um, but that's my last
- 2:33:18hit die. I'm feeling healthy. I'm
- 2:33:20feeling good. I'm going to say swiggity
- 2:33:22swoosh. I'm going for the caboose as I
- 2:33:25rush at this guy. And I will I don't uh
- 2:33:28do I need to recklessly attack? You're
- 2:33:30advantaged. So, I'm not going to
- 2:33:31recklessly attack this time. This cheap
- 2:33:33shot. Am I Are we still blessed after

- 2:36:49remaining soul camp. Is he with 10
- 2:36:51within 10 ft? No. Um I uh because I have
- 2:36:56uh ancestral communion, I get a heroic
- 2:36:57inspiration back because I my
- 2:36:59maintaining concentrated on the spell.
- 2:37:00Uh so I feel a bit more lucky as I say,
- 2:37:03Hoochie, you're on the big bad train. I
- 2:37:05said, many Hanks, handle it. I'm going
- 2:37:07to handle it. As I use a bonus action to
- 2:37:09c uh omen of doom as I uh am marking the
- 2:37:13train. Hootsie is going to emerge as she
- 2:37:17uh emerges from the shadows again with a
- 2:37:19hoot and slashes forward with an ominous

- 2:37:43necrotic dam. It's going to be necrotic
- 2:37:44damage, but it is what it is. Seven
- 2:37:46points of necrotic damage as he slices
- 2:37:49it. Hootsie is trying her best. Um, and
- 2:37:52she's and she's doing a little bit of
- 2:37:54work, but it is not as much as you had
- 2:37:56hoped, but not immune. No, not and if
- 2:37:58the creature is not immune to fear, it
- 2:38:00is frightened of Hootsie until the end

- 2:38:58expecting it to um be aimed towards the
- 2:39:02locomotive itself. But Grio has his eye
- 2:39:04on something else. The tiny glowing um
- 2:39:07or the glowing can soul canister that is
- 2:39:09nestled on the ground. Uh and as it
- 2:39:11pierces you, you hear the whale of the
- 2:39:13soul that escapes from it. The
- 2:39:15locomotive is not able to consume it and
- 2:39:18regain health from this soul. But where
- 2:39:22it was, you do see a hand. Well done,
- 2:39:25Gregor. Well done. Oh, it's Oh, don't
- 2:39:28worry. I got this. I got this. Don't
- 2:39:30worry. Okay, it's my turn. It is going
- 2:39:32to use it's legendary a legendary action
- 2:39:35and just to get you all closer to the
- 2:39:36hint uh and it's going to use ghostly
- 2:39:38rails again to uh move you all directly
- 2:39:41in front of the h as soon as it gets 5
- 2:39:44ft. Hootsie is going to let out an
- 2:39:47ominous hoot uh as she uses her reaction
- 2:39:51and uh the ghost light express the ghost
- 2:39:54the ghost light locomotive needs to make
- 2:39:55a wisdom saving throw 14.
- 2:39:59that succeeds. So, it's going to
- 2:40:02continue moving. That's it. Legendary
- 2:40:05action. It's Gideon's turn. Um I strap
- 2:40:08to uh the front of this thing now. A
- 2:40:10little bit closer. Um
- 2:40:13well, let's try this one more time. Um,
- 2:40:17and I'm going to uh from my from my
- 2:40:20form, those uh similar uh silver flame
- 2:40:25uh chains will erupt from my person and
- 2:40:28shoot out and attempt to wrap around the
- 2:40:30train as well as the hint that's towards
- 2:40:32my back uh as I um evoke my
- 2:40:38uh castigate. I I use a channel divid uh
- 2:40:41divinity to use castigate as a magic
- 2:40:43action. You can expend one use of your
- 2:40:46channelneled divinity to clap those you
- 2:40:48would bring to justice in fiery
- 2:40:50shackles. Choose a number of creatures.
- 2:40:53I mean the transit creature. Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:40:56Uh choose a number of creatures up to
- 2:40:57your charisma modifier which is which is
- 2:40:59plenty. It's like four. Um you can see
- 2:41:02within 30 ft of yourself. Uh each
- 2:41:05creature must succeed on a strength
- 2:41:07saving throw or be wrapped in fiery
- 2:41:09shackles and have its speed reduced to
- 2:41:11zero. Big money. DC's uh 13, I believe.
- 2:41:16They both fail. Nice. And I don't have
- 2:41:18legendary resistance.
- 2:41:21Um so so these flaming these silver
- 2:41:24flame uh chains wrap around the the
- 2:41:28hole, the body of the train as the edges
- 2:41:31will shoot down to the ground uh and
- 2:41:33almost like tent pull plant it in and
- 2:41:36lock it uh speed down as well as it'll
- 2:41:38wrap around the chain behind me. And as
- 2:41:40a bonus action, uh, I will ignite the
- 2:41:43chains, uh, in radiant fire. Silver
- 2:41:47radiant fire, dealing
- 2:41:51six points of fire damage to both this
- 2:41:55hane over here and the train to the h
- 2:41:57and the train. You blast forth that um
- 2:42:01that holy energy. And you see as it
- 2:42:03singes the haint, it is barely holding
- 2:42:06on. is in a similar state to the the
- 2:42:08other hint that's the where I is pouring
- 2:42:12from their eyes and it is barely able to
- 2:42:15move forward. Um the train itself is
- 2:42:18looking worse for wear, I should say. It
- 2:42:21doesn't it doesn't look like it's it's
- 2:42:22about to uh fall over at any point, but
- 2:42:25you're you're noticing that it's slowing
- 2:42:26down. You're noticing that it is uh it
- 2:42:29is struggling. You can hear the whine of
- 2:42:31the engine now. You can hear the
- 2:42:33grinding of the wheels. um especially as
- 2:42:35it tries to move forward while you hold
- 2:42:37it back with these spectral chains. So
- 2:42:39Frost, your turn. I am going to uh speak
- 2:42:43to my
- 2:42:46Aberin buddies on the other side. I'm
- 2:42:49ask them for help. I cast data flare and
- 2:42:51I kill it instantly. Uh no, no, no. Uh
- 2:42:54what you're going to see is I'm going to
- 2:42:55focus in and I'm going to uh request the
- 2:42:59help of these creatures. Um, I'm
- 2:43:01murmuring and uh whispering uh and a I'm
- 2:43:04I'm mechanically casting cloud of
- 2:43:06daggers. Unfortunately, it doesn't force
- 2:43:08an intrusion die test because I keep
- 2:43:10trying to force that but it will
- 2:43:12allow me to do some damage. Uh 5ft cube
- 2:43:15centered on a point within range. I'm
- 2:43:16going to put it here right at his butt.
- 2:43:18Uh the caboose as they say. I'm going to
- 2:43:20do 14 points of slashing damage. Uh and
- 2:43:24I'm going to concentrate on that. It's
- 2:43:26going to stay there and it's going to do
- 2:43:27damage to any creatures that I uh care

- 2:43:33Eldrich
- 2:43:36like mouthing
- 2:43:40eyeballs are floating around. They're
- 2:43:42all swirling in this tornado of to tear
- 2:43:45away at the caboose of the locomotive,
- 2:43:48the backside of this thing. As the
- 2:43:51locomotive begins to take this damage,
- 2:43:53you see it lurch forward. The ghostlike
- 2:43:55locomotive grumbles and shuddters with a
- 2:43:57burst of otherworldly light. Its face
- 2:44:00becomes a nightmare exaggeration with a
- 2:44:01crooked iron grin and huge black plumes
- 2:44:04of billowing souls erupt from its smoke
- 2:44:05stack. Each one twisted into writhing
- 2:44:08shadows that look like gnarled branches.
- 2:44:11You watch as this this train begins to
- 2:44:14shift and change once again. You hear
- 2:44:17the engine speed up even further. You
- 2:44:19hear the rails begin to grind even
- 2:44:22faster. The malevolent maw on its face
- 2:44:24is even more sinister than the moon that
- 2:44:26is shining down on all of you as it uh
- 2:44:31as it uh almost it feels almost like
- 2:44:33it's gotten larger in front of you. Oh
- 2:44:36my god.
- 2:44:38Uh and that is Torbex's turn.
- 2:44:41[Music]

- 2:45:22it turns into nothingness in front of
- 2:45:23you. Uh, and then I as I as I uh
- 2:45:27swipe away at this horrific uh
- 2:45:29apparition and and get it away from me,
- 2:45:31I begin to run after the train to try to
- 2:45:33uh continue to attack it. And that is my
- 2:45:35turn. Uh, it is its turn now. Um you
- 2:45:39watch as it um I'm going to see here if
- 2:45:46we're lucky that it hasn't recharged
- 2:45:47itself. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Um
- 2:45:51Yeah. Cuz that's devastating. It's going
- 2:45:53to uh it's going to turn towards you and
- 2:45:55it's going to see if it recharges. It
- 2:45:56doesn't. Um and it is going to it's
- 2:46:00going to you watch as the rails begin to
- 2:46:02shake beneath it and uh it is going to
- 2:46:05reach out and it's going to slam against
- 2:46:07you. forbeck, but the other rail is also
- 2:46:10going to reach out and slam towards you,
- 2:46:13Frost. And you watch as this thing has
- 2:46:15become emboldened now. Whereas it was
- 2:46:18only able to manipulate one of these
- 2:46:20rails before, whatever has just happened
- 2:46:21to it, whatever has invigorated it, it
- 2:46:24is now able to access both as it
- 2:46:26multi-attacks um between the two of you.
- 2:46:29What's the range on? Um 10 ft. I Torb's
- 2:46:33out of range. Oh, I thought Torbeck was
- 2:46:35right on its butt, but that's away from
- 2:46:37the base. Okay. So, then it will do uh
- 2:46:40it'll it'll go right thereon frost on

- 2:51:10train. And though the damage isn't uh
- 2:51:12what she's used to and what she would
- 2:51:14hope, you are still slowly wearing this
- 2:51:18thing down. The hit that Kmy had just
- 2:51:21done to it was significant.
- 2:51:24And it even though it had just
- 2:51:26emboldened itself and is almost in a
- 2:51:28frenzy, you see that it is getting even
- 2:51:31weaker than it had been before. It is uh
- 2:51:34once again you can hear the grinding and
- 2:51:36chugging of the engine as if it's
- 2:51:37struggling. It almost sounds like the
- 2:51:39whailing specters are crying out in
- 2:51:42pain. It is going to make another
- 2:51:44legendary action as it is going to look
- 2:51:48towards uh you Grio and it is going to
- 2:51:52um let out another whistle. Um and I
- 2:51:57need you to make a wisdom saving throw
- 2:51:58for me please. I have blessed. Thank you

- 2:53:38just remember that if that's relevant or

- 2:53:43will deal uh like six slashing damage.
- 2:53:48Um, oh, but then three necrotic damage.
- 2:53:51So, one necrotic damage. So, seven
- 2:53:53damage in that form. But then it's going
- 2:53:56to deal 11
- 2:53:58holy radiant damage. Unless it's like
- 2:54:00undead or something. I don't know if
- 2:54:02it's undead ghost train. Um cuz if it

- 2:55:04in the air and grab the front of the
- 2:55:06chain around and boom, slam it back into
- 2:55:09the ground and say, "Why don't you ride
- 2:55:11the silver path, you dumb son bitch?"
- 2:55:13Uh, as I suplex the train into the
- 2:55:15ground. That is what happens in your
- 2:55:17mind.
- 2:55:20Man, that's cool.
- 2:55:23As you rush forward, you see your
- 2:55:25friends uh weakened and wounded uh next
- 2:55:29to this thing, especially Creremy, your
- 2:55:31boss, your companion, your roommate, and
- 2:55:35you rush forward, your best friend, and
- 2:55:38this train is making him depressed. This
- 2:55:41this train is ruining him. And you rush
- 2:55:43forward to come to the aid of the people
- 2:55:44that you care about the most. And you
- 2:55:47you charge forward into this into this
- 2:55:50attack with every bit of holy light that
- 2:55:53you have within you. This power that is
- 2:55:55completely new to you uh upon being
- 2:55:58reincarnated into this new body and you
- 2:56:00move forward and you you let loose these
- 2:56:03attacks. Your your chain um is still
- 2:56:07tight around this thing as it pulls the
- 2:56:10train apart doing the exact amount of
- 2:56:13damage that it needed.
- 2:56:17It had it had 18 hit points minus the
- 2:56:20six minus the one takes it to 11 and
- 2:56:24then the 11 hit points to zero. Well
- 2:56:27done is you uh in your head you you
- 2:56:30suplex this train but that is not
- 2:56:33physically possible in this world but
- 2:56:35you are okay. So that's a but you are
- 2:56:38able to rip it to rip it to pieces with
- 2:56:42this holy energy and the help of your
- 2:56:44chains as it spirals around it and rips
- 2:56:46this thing to pieces. The whailing sound
- 2:56:49of these specters as they rise up into
- 2:56:52the air. Um, and all is and all is quiet
- 2:56:58for but a moment.
- 2:57:05As the ghostlike locomotive's malicious
- 2:57:07face disappears, its true form returns,
- 2:57:11belching out the crooked corruption in
- 2:57:13an acrid black cloud. What remains of
- 2:57:16the phantom train hopper rides and rages
- 2:57:18against its final destruction, but it is
- 2:57:20quickly annihilated by the billowing fog
- 2:57:22of the shroud before the mist dissipates
- 2:57:24from Wickermore Hollow.
- 2:57:27You stand here breathing heavy.
- 2:57:32You feel I'm on the ground. K, get out
- 2:57:36of there, man. Come on. Come on. I got
- 2:57:38you. You feel exhausted. You are
- 2:57:41wounded. This was nothing like you
- 2:57:44expected your trip to go. And you are
- 2:57:47now standing here in front of what had
- 2:57:49previously been a horrific reincarnation
- 2:57:53of the ghost light uh locomotive. But it
- 2:57:56is now returned to its normal state
- 2:57:59before you is the train that you had
- 2:58:02rode in on. It's not in the best shape.
- 2:58:05It is clearly in need of repair, but it
- 2:58:08is whole and it is no longer graced with
- 2:58:11the same visage of evil that was um
- 2:58:15plastered across the face of this thing.
- 2:58:19You in the the midst of this fight
- 2:58:23never even took the time to notice that
- 2:58:25Philip, Adella, and the Vagrant were not
- 2:58:27by your side during this during this
- 2:58:30encounter. Uh, but it is in this moment
- 2:58:32that you see as they make their way out
- 2:58:34of the underbrush, move moving toward
- 2:58:36you, wiping their their clothes off, uh,
- 2:58:39uh, wiping the dirt off of their
- 2:58:40clothes, Adella runs over to you and
- 2:58:42checks on each of you to make sure that
- 2:58:43you're okay. Uh, both her and Philip
- 2:58:46begin to thank you profusely. Um, all

- 2:59:48by literally leaping up. You are so much
- 2:59:51taller than her. But she stands on
- 2:59:53tiptoes, realizes it's not enough, leaps
- 2:59:55into the air a little bit, and wipes
- 2:59:56some some of it away. Thank you. As she
- 2:59:59moves between all of you, trying to tend
- 3:00:01to you at least a little bit. You must
- 3:00:04be feeling awful.
- 3:00:07Feeling awful. Yeah, not me. I'm in my
- 3:00:11prime. And I stand up and I see the lit
- 3:00:15cigarette that I had lit. And before
- 3:00:17this fight started, I go, I reach it and
- 3:00:19I pick it up in the cigarette holder
- 3:00:21that I got from the songstress and I
- 3:00:22take a long drag on it. All I'm going to
- 3:00:24say, I think I would have been able to
- 3:00:28take care of that real quick if I was
- 3:00:30reborn into something like really tall
- 3:00:33and sporty, muscular. Oh, certainly.
- 3:00:35Like about 7t tall, taller than Gideon.
- 3:00:38I don't know, man. I mean, I think you
- 3:00:40did a lot better than me in that fight.
- 3:00:42I'm just going to say it could have been
- 3:00:43done real quick. I feel like this
- 3:00:45scorpion tail, you know, it may be in my
- 3:00:47nature, but it's holding me back.
- 3:00:50What? What do you mean, Dash? You You
- 3:00:52killed that thing. That was That was
- 3:00:54incredible. I saw you charge it. I just
- 3:00:57looking out for your friends. You You

- 3:01:01you. Every single one of you did

- 3:01:06defending ourselves as I tried to invoke
- 3:01:08the Eldrich powers beyond the veil.

- 3:01:33we'll get you all cleaned up and and and
- 3:01:35you could talk to Phil if if you're not
- 3:01:36happy in your current form. I mean, you
- 3:01:39could always talk to Phil. I'm sure once
- 3:01:41we're on the train, he could he could
- 3:01:42look at helping you. What What do you

- 3:01:47starts to address Phil, you hear,
- 3:01:50"Sorry, friends," the vagrant cries out.
- 3:01:52"Looks like the Ghostl Express is moving
- 3:01:55on. In its current state, it can't take
- 3:01:57any living passengers, I'm afraid. Soon
- 3:02:00as I get it all fixed up, I'll be sure
- 3:02:02to return and pick you back up. But for
- 3:02:04now, it looks like this is the end of
- 3:02:06the line. See you in a few weeks, I
- 3:02:09think." And that is where we will end
- 3:02:12our session. Wow.

- 3:03:12now. That's right. And you can uh get
- 3:03:14either the player options in the
- 3:03:15campaign setting or the monsters and the
- 3:03:18adventure campaign or you get the bundle
- 3:03:20and you save 10 bucks. Boom. And so you
- 3:03:22can enjoy all of this and so much more
- 3:03:25to have a wonderful folk horror
- 3:03:27adventure and game with your friends.
- 3:03:30When we say more, this was a streamlined
- 3:03:32version. There are all sorts of corners
- 3:03:34and nooks and crannies that we didn't
- 3:03:35explore in the Ghost Light Express
- 3:03:37before we even arrived in this dark
