  1. 0:00it's November 5th 1983 and 58 year old
  2. 0:04Isadore Roseman was just found dead
  3. 0:07inside his jewelry store by the
  4. 0:09Shreveport Police who had been notified
  5. 0:12by an acquaintance that the shop
  6. 0:14appeared to be in disarray Roseman had
  7. 0:17been murdered with a single gunshot
  8. 0:18wound to the back of the head Glenn Ford
  9. 0:21roseman's Yard Man was known to be in
  10. 0:24the vicinity of the store at the time of
  11. 0:26the murder and identified by multiple
  12. 0:28people at the trial he was known to be
  13. 0:30with Jake and Henry Robinson after the
  14. 0:33crime showing materials stolen from the
  15. 0:35crime scene as well as a 22 caliber
  16. 0:37pistol belonging to Jay an acquaintance
  17. 0:41of Ford testified that he had a 38
  18. 0:43pistol in his waistband the morning of
  19. 0:46the crime which was the same caliber
  20. 0:48bullet found at the crime scene police
  21. 0:51initially were unable to find any
  22. 0:53evidence of the crime at Ford's
  23. 0:55residence however they did find gunshot
  24. 0:58residue on his left hand and
  25. 1:01coincidentally he was left-handed Ford
  26. 1:04was immediately taken into custody then
  27. 1:07during the investigation they found
  28. 1:09evidence in Henry Robinson's possession
  29. 1:12as well as pawn shop receipts in Ford's
  30. 1:15name from the date of the murder Ford
  31. 1:18was assigned to attorneys by the stay
  32. 1:20due to his inability to pay for a lawyer
  33. 1:23on his own both were selected from an
  34. 1:25alphabetical listing of lawyers from the
  35. 1:28local bar association the lead attorney
  36. 1:31was an oil and gas lawyer who had never
  37. 1:33tried a case criminal or civil before a
  38. 1:37jury Ford was subsequently sentenced to
  39. 1:40death by electrocution at Louisiana
  40. 1:42State penitentiary in August of 1988 it
  41. 1:46wouldn't be until 2013 that an
  42. 1:48unidentified informant told prosecutors
  43. 1:51that Jake Robinson admitted the shooting
  44. 1:54and killing Roseman this led to Ford's
  45. 1:57legal team filing a motion to vacate his
  46. 1:59conviction and sentence in March of
  47. 2:012014. this was the lead prosecutor on
  48. 2:05the case and he actually apologized to
  49. 2:07Glenn Ford Ford is just one of at least
  50. 2:10150 people on death row in the U.S who
  51. 2:13were later exonerated and released Ford
  52. 2:17was eligible for a 313 thousand dollar
  53. 2:20settlement under Louisiana law but a
  54. 2:23judge denied the petition for the funds
  55. 2:25stating that he likely had some role in
  56. 2:28the initial crime as he had been in
  57. 2:30possession of stolen goods when arrested
  58. 2:32Ford knew a robbery was going to take
  59. 2:35place and done nothing to stop it
  60. 2:38furthermore he attempted to destroy
  61. 2:41evidence by pawning items taken in the
  62. 2:43robbery and even tried to find buyers
  63. 2:46for the murder weapon that was used by
  64. 2:49men that Ford implicated in the murder
  65. 2:51there's a lot of people saying that
  66. 2:53Glenn Ford didn't get a good deal but
  67. 2:56then there's other people saying that
  68. 2:58Glenn Ford was involved the murder and
  69. 3:01got what he deserved and that's
  70. 3:03including the family of Isidore Roseman
  71. 3:06sadly though Glenn Ford died under
  72. 3:09Hospice Care on June 29 2015 from
  73. 3:13complications due to lung cancer rest in
