- 0:04>> On today's episode of Timeless Wisdom.
- 0:07>> There are a lot of things guys do that
- 0:09drive me nuts vis-a-vis women.
- 0:11>> When men will just stare at your chest
- 0:13the entire time they're talking to you.
- 0:16I don't know if it's if they're
- 0:19doing it unconsciously, they're not even
- 0:20aware that they're doing it. And if they
- 0:21are aware, what is their motive? What
- 0:23are they trying to gain?
- 0:24>> Now, now, good. Let's analyze this.
- 0:27>> When couples are in the presence of each
- 0:29other and having, you know, whatever
- 0:31conversations,
- 0:32and say um somebody's husband comments
- 0:37on somebody's girlfriend in front of his
- 0:40girlfriend or his wife,
- 0:43um that's pretty embarrassing and it's
- 0:46>> You mean comments in a very positive way
- 0:48and and
- 0:49as if
- 0:50>> um
- 0:51saying she's, you know, look at look at
- 0:54uh
- 0:55so-and-so, she's hot. I mean, she's a
- 0:57total babe.
- 0:58>> Yes.
- 0:58>> That's coming up on Timeless Wisdom with

- 1:08>> I count on it to [music] pay for
- 1:09groceries and prescriptions. Everything
- 1:11costs more now.
- 1:12>> AARP is fighting to protect [music] the
- 1:14Social Security Americans earn through a
- 1:16lifetime of hard work.

- 1:48>> I am old-fashioned. I like two sexes.
- 1:50That's another thing. All of a sudden, I
- 1:52don't like being married to what is
- 1:53known as a new woman. I I wife, not a
- 1:55competitor Competitor, competitor.
- 1:58>> Talk about it a bit. This [music] crying
- 1:59in the morning thing, this depression.
- 2:01You know, let's get that fixed.
- 2:02>> That's what men think, isn't it?
- 2:04>> What?
- 2:04>> You know, that [clears throat] unless
- 2:05you've got the answer, unless you can
- 2:06say,
- 2:07"Oh, I know this bloke in the A6 road
- 2:09who could fix that."
- 2:10>> [music]
- 2:10>> Then there's no point bothering.
- 2:12>> How do you rate women so well?
- 2:14>> I think of a man
- 2:16and I take away reason and
- 2:18accountability.
- 2:19>> I love him. I love him and I don't care
- 2:22what you think. [music] I love him for
- 2:23the for the man he wants to be and I
- 2:26love him for the man that he almost is.
- 2:30>> What do people [music] have rows about
- 2:31you?
- 2:31>> Uh
- 2:32money, sex,
- 2:35sex, money, he wants, she [music]
- 2:37doesn't want.
- 2:38>> She wants, he doesn't want.
- 2:40>> Women
- 2:41have always been a big problem to me,
- 2:44Dr. Firstband.
- 2:47>> [music]
- 2:47>> Are you listening, doctor?
- 2:48>> Yes, yes, yes, go on, go on.
- 2:51>> [music]
- 2:53>> And welcome everybody to the male and
- 2:56female hour [music] on the Dennis Prager
- 2:57Show. I have a big smile only because I
- 2:59love that opening so much. It always
- 3:01gives me a smile, especially are you
- 3:03listening, Dr. Firstband? [music] Yes,
- 3:04yes, yes, yes, yes, go ahead, go ahead.
- 3:07I love it.
- 3:08Well,
- 3:09I have a a little anecdote to report
- 3:11[music]
- 3:12to you
- 3:14uh which
- 3:15uh made me feel very good about the
- 3:17impact of this hour
- 3:20and it will be a good introduction to a
- 3:23different topic, but very related
- 3:26uh as you will see in the moment. At a
- 3:28recent talk,
- 3:31uh a woman came over to me, an
- 3:32attractive woman in her 30s,
- 3:35and told me her story. As men and women
- 3:38do open up to me a lot and it's very
- 3:40helpful because then I can report even
- 3:43more honestly about men and women
- 3:45uh in the program and in my in my
- 3:47writing.
- 3:49And uh she explained that uh, in her uh,
- 3:52I guess late teens, early 20s, uh, she
- 3:55had, uh, been a stripper.
- 3:58And, uh,
- 4:00had then become a Christian and and
- 4:02stopped that work, gotten married, and
- 4:04has a wonderful husband and children.
- 4:07She said, "Until I I heard your your
- 4:11explanation of men,
- 4:13uh, I had this long-standing belief that
- 4:16men were, especially the men who came
- 4:19to, uh, see my work
- 4:21in my pre-Christian days,
- 4:23uh, were pigs. Men were just pigs.
- 4:26And I realize now that that's,
- 4:29you know, that's not the case. Not to
- 4:31say that there aren't men who are, but
- 4:33that
- 4:34normal men
- 4:36are normal men."
- 4:38And, uh, it, uh,
- 4:40obviously helped her understand her
- 4:42husband better, and this is this is
- 4:44terrific.
- 4:45This is why I'm writing my book on male
- 4:48sexual nature. It's part of why I do
- 4:49this program.
- 4:51The reason I tell you this story, aside
- 4:53from I think it's inherently
- 4:55interesting,
- 4:56uh, is as a
- 4:58as an introduction to something else,
- 5:01because I'm known
- 5:07I'm known for explaining men,
- 5:11but that doesn't mean that I always
- 5:13defend men.
- 5:15There are a lot of things guys do that
- 5:16drive me nuts vis-a-vis women. And I
- 5:19want to talk to you about that today,
- 5:21and and hopefully help men here,
- 5:24uh, in better understanding themselves
- 5:26and the way they can come across at
- 5:28times.
- 5:29I just, uh, recently did the show on men
- 5:34men looking, quote, that way at a woman.
- 5:38And telling women and explaining to
- 5:40women, and a lot of women called to
- 5:41agree,
- 5:42that, uh, unless a man overdoes it, and
- 5:45some men do,
- 5:46It's a real compliment. And uh, when
- 5:50later in life or at any given time in
- 5:52life, that stops, a lot of women miss it
- 5:55and feel {quote} invisible.
- 5:58So, one should not knock men looking at
- 6:01women that way. But of course, there's
- 6:04that way and then there's that way. And
- 6:06there could be a that way
- 6:08that that is, you know, constant staring
- 6:12and particularly
- 6:14foolish comments.
- 6:16Especially guys who are dating. And I I
- 6:19have overheard this at restaurants. I
- 6:22have been told this by women. I guys
- 6:25have told me.
- 6:27Just because, gentlemen, just because
- 6:29sex is on your mind much of the time, it
- 6:32doesn't mean you need to talk about it
- 6:35as much as it is on your mind.
- 6:38And [snorts] so, there are comments that
- 6:39men could make that just don't reflect
- 6:43well on you in the life of a woman,
- 6:45especially if you're courting a woman.
- 6:48To to make some some sexual innuendos on
- 6:51the first date
- 6:53or second date, I presume, is not is not
- 6:55the most brilliant thing. The the trick
- 6:57is to to attract a woman is to work
- 7:00against the stereotype.
- 7:03And so, you know, oh God, are you hot.
- 7:08Or or saying what, you know, what I
- 7:10what, you know, God, what I I'd love to
- 7:13be with you. I mean, I'm and I'm and I'm
- 7:14being uncrude here.
- 7:16I mean, these are not wise things for a
- 7:19man to say
- 7:20in the early stages of courting a woman.
- 7:25So, I I want to I want to develop in
- 7:27this hour, and women would be very
- 7:30helpful here for men to hear, just as
- 7:32it's been so helpful for women to hear
- 7:35about men and and and and better
- 7:38understanding men. It's I want women to
- 7:41call. Men are certainly invited as well,
- 7:43but women especially about no-nos you
- 7:47think should apply to male behavior in
- 7:50social settings or on a date or or what
- 7:54have you.
- 7:5518776
- 7:571888776
- 8:01I mean, there are times when I mean, for
- 8:03example, I'll I'll give you one example
- 8:05that has always driven me nuts is when a
- 8:07man is dating a woman
- 8:09and says this came up. I I just spoke in
- 8:11Chicago about the male sexuality. And a
- 8:15an attractive woman
- 8:17raised a raised this issue. I would say
- 8:19the woman was about 35 years old or late
- 8:2130s
- 8:23and said, "Well, what do I say? What do
- 8:25I do though?" And it was a particularly
- 8:27attractive woman interestingly enough.
- 8:29Where when a man says to me, "Well, if
- 8:31you
- 8:35And and I and I look at this this woman
- 8:37who would obviously had a a high high
- 8:40educated, very bright
- 8:42uh clearly from at least from an
- 8:44attractiveness standpoint could have a
- 8:46pick of many men and even she is falling
- 8:49for this line and not knowing what to
- 8:51answer.
- 8:53I mean, any guy who gives you that line,
- 8:55"If you loved me," you're not married,
- 8:56you're not on your way, you're not
- 8:57engaged, you're not on the way to
- 8:59marriage. And I'm not talking here about
- 9:01morality and religion and so on. And I
- 9:03do believe that intercourse should wait
- 9:04to marriage. I think that is the ideal.
- 9:06But I also believe that some sexual
- 9:10uh activity should take place because
- 9:12you need to know about the person and
- 9:14and if there is any if there is
- 9:16incompatibility there, it's better to
- 9:19know it before you marry than after you
- 9:20marry.
- 9:21So, I'm in the I'm on a a middle middle
- 9:23road there.
- 9:24But this notion, "If you loved me, you
- 9:27would sleep with me." The answer of
- 9:29course is, "If you loved me, you
- 9:30wouldn't say something so stupid."
- 9:3718776
- 9:39What are What are you women you have the
- 9:42form now?
- 9:43You have a lot of men listening. Do Is
- 9:46there Are there no-nos
- 9:48that you would like men to know whether
- 9:50it is dating or whether it is in a
- 9:51social setting
- 9:53or what have you? I mean, I have asked
- 9:56that women understand men better and a
- 9:59lot of women have.
- 10:02I mean, the letters and the the comments
- 10:04that I get when I speak are very, very
- 10:05heartening from women.
- 10:08But
- 10:08but there are things that guys do and
- 10:10say that drive me as a man I'm almost
- 10:12embarrassed. I almost I almost want to
- 10:14go undergo a sex change for for 10
- 10:16minutes
- 10:17when when I hear some of these some of
- 10:19these lines.
- 10:21And
- 10:22you know, you know, of course my answer
- 10:23to the other famous line, "Oh,
- 10:26why should we get married? Marriage is
- 10:28just a piece of paper." To which the
- 10:29response is, "If it's just a piece of
- 10:31paper, why not get married?"
- 10:35And that pretty much ends that, doesn't
- 10:36it?
- 10:37I always got a kick out of that
- 10:38argument, it's just a piece of paper. So
- 10:40why is he so adamant about not doing it
- 10:43if it's just a piece of paper?
- 10:46All right, so let's begin here in
- 10:48Minneapolis and Lori. Hello Lori, Dennis
- 10:50Prager.
- 10:51>> Hi Dennis, long time listener. First
- 10:53time I've ever called in.
- 10:55>> Oh, great. Thanks.
- 10:57>> My comment is and it's not necessarily a
- 10:59line, but
- 11:00>> Oh, no. No, no, it could be an action,
- 11:02not just a line.
- 11:03>> Right.
- 11:04My action is men who they don't even
- 11:07have to be in a date, it can be a social
- 11:08situation and thank God I've never had a
- 11:10boss who does this, but when men will
- 11:13just stare at your chest the entire time
- 11:14they're talking to you.
- 11:17I don't know if it's if they're doing it
- 11:19unconsciously, they're not even aware
- 11:21that they're doing it and if they are
- 11:22aware, what is their motive? What are
- 11:24they trying to gain?
- 11:25>> Now, now, good. Let's analyze this
- 11:27because you do have you do give some
- 11:30leeway to male nature that he will look.
- 11:33>> Right. Let's say I I'm not dressed
- 11:35sexually at all.
- 11:36>> Right. Okay, so you're
- 11:37>> outfit on.
- 11:39>> Okay, regular outfit on. Now, if he
- 11:42notices it, are you okay with that?
- 11:45>> Um for some reason I don't even like I
- 11:47can't take it with you just staring at
- 11:48my chest the whole time.
- 11:49>> Yes. No, no, no, that's what I mean. In
- 11:50other words, I want to talk about the
- 11:52difference between noticing and staring.
- 11:55So, are you are you opposed to noticing
- 11:57as well as staring or just at staring?
- 11:59>> Maybe [music] a quick glimpse wouldn't
- 12:01bother me.
- 12:03>> Okay, stay on with me cuz this I I
- 12:05happen to agree with you. I I think it's
- 12:07it's it's almost it's it's buffoonery. I
- 12:09mean, if a man really I want to know
- 12:11though, is that common? Do men
- 12:13do men really do that? Just stare the
- 12:15whole time or is it or is a woman
- 12:17reacting to a couple of glances? Back in
- 12:20a moment, you're listening to [music]
- 12:21the male-female hour on the Dennis
- 12:23Prager Show.
- 12:23>> This episode of Timeless Wisdom will
- 12:26continue right after this.
- 12:30>> When someone you love is hurting, what
- 12:32do you do? We're often quick to say, "If
- 12:34there's anything [music] I can do, just
- 12:36let me know." But what if we stopped
- 12:38waiting to be asked and simply showed
- 12:40[music] up? On the If There's Anything I
- 12:42Can Do podcast, Pam McConnell shares
- 12:45real stories, biblical wisdom, and
- 12:47practical ways to walk alongside [music]
- 12:49people through grief, loss, and life's
- 12:51hardest moments. Learn how to show up
- 12:53[music] and make a difference. Subscribe
- 12:55now at wherever you listen to podcasts.
- 12:58[music]
- 13:02>> Now, back to more of [music] Dennis
- 13:04Prager's Timeless Wisdom.
- 13:07>> Hi everybody, Dennis Prager here.
- 13:09>> [music]
- 13:11>> And a particularly honest show is the
- 13:13male-female hour.
- 13:15Honesty about the two sexes. [music]
- 13:18That's why a lot of people listen and
- 13:21hopefully are helped by it.
- 13:24The male-female hour each week,
- 13:26Wednesday second hour of my program. I'm
- 13:29Dennis Prager. Thank you for being with
- 13:31me.
- 13:32And I have explained men and their
- 13:35sexual nature a great deal. A lot of
- 13:37women have heard it and it's helped a
- 13:39lot of relationships. I am proud and
- 13:42happy to say.
- 13:43This doesn't mean everything men do or
- 13:45say is exactly intelligent or good,
- 13:48however.
- 13:49And as a uh
- 13:52as a hopeful
- 13:54instructive lesson to men, I'm having
- 13:56women call in in particular. Men though
- 13:58are certainly invited. But in particular
- 14:00women to to speak of the no-nos of men's
- 14:05behavior or or speech.
- 14:07And especially as it relates to women.
- 14:10That's that's I mean, we're all against
- 14:12men who rob banks. So, don't call in
- 14:15about male male violence and
- 14:19obviously that's obvious.
- 14:22I mean,
- 14:23if we have to have a program on why it's
- 14:25wrong for a male to be violent outside
- 14:27of protecting the innocent, then we're
- 14:29in bad shape. All right. Let's go back
- 14:32to Lori in Minneapolis. Thanks. Thank
- 14:34you again, Lori, for calling. So, it's
- 14:35men staring at at your chest. Uh
- 14:38Now,
- 14:39so a guy
- 14:42meets you in a business or social
- 14:44situation
- 14:45and his eyes glance downward.
- 14:49Or well, I guess if he's much shorter
- 14:51upward, but presumably downward or
- 14:53level.
- 14:54And
- 14:55that's okay, but prolonged staring is
- 14:58not. Do I have you correctly?
- 14:59>> Right.
- 15:01>> Okay, I happen to agree with you.
- 15:04It's just know this
- 15:07that think of magnets. Have you ever had
- 15:10two powerful magnets as a kid? You know,
- 15:12they they
- 15:14they they just they're they're the
- 15:16staggering power of the attraction as
- 15:18they get closer closer.
- 15:20>> Yep.
- 15:21>> Think of male and women's breasts as
- 15:24magnets.
- 15:25And it will give you an idea of the
- 15:28willpower it takes for a man
- 15:30never to look.
- 15:33And by the way, I think it's
- 15:35a a power he should exercise 99% of the
- 15:38time. If he if he doesn't notice at all,
- 15:41uh then, you know, then we we have lost
- 15:44some of the the playfulness of of
- 15:46male-female interrelations and that and
- 15:49that's wouldn't be good.
- 15:50Uh but uh if it's prolonged, I am
- 15:53totally on your side.
- 15:55But please know that if it's prolonged,
- 15:57he's uh he's exercising self-control.
- 16:03Are you there?
- 16:04>> Yep, I'm still here. Sorry.
- 16:05>> Is that okay? Anything you want
- 16:07>> my only added comment is it would happen
- 16:09a lot more when I was younger than it
- 16:11does now. And I guess now I would be
- 16:13able to say something. When I was
- 16:14younger, I'd be a little, you know, set
- 16:16back by it and and startled and wouldn't
- 16:18say anything, but I think that's
- 16:20>> What would you What would you say today?
- 16:22>> Um I would just probably say, "Sir, are
- 16:24you aware of the fact that you've been
- 16:25staring at my chest the entire time
- 16:26we've been conversing?"
- 16:29>> And what if he said, "Yes, I have been.
- 16:31Frankly, it's a very attractive one."
- 16:34>> I guess I don't know I I wouldn't know
- 16:35what to say at [clears throat] that
- 16:36point.
- 16:37>> Exactly. [laughter] Exactly. All right,
- 16:39bless you, Lori. I I mean, it's very
- 16:41funny if that were actually to happen.
- 16:43Uh
- 16:44See, now Lori, remember, this is very
- 16:46important here because these things are
- 16:48far more complex than they seem at the
- 16:51outset.
- 16:52Of course, we're all against men just in
- 16:54a social interaction staring at a
- 16:56woman's chest, obviously. Uh but what
- 16:59what if the woman is is half uncovering
- 17:02her breasts and he starts to stare more
- 17:04than a glimpse?
- 17:06See, if she shows a lot, can't he look a
- 17:08lot?
- 17:09Now, I'm not advising men to do this,
- 17:11but I'm I'm saying that there has to be
- 17:13a quid pro quo here.
- 17:15Lori has the right to protest because
- 17:18she's covered up much more than a woman
- 17:20who isn't.
- 17:21You show, he looks.
- 17:24All right.
- 17:25So, let's go to let's go to some more of
- 17:28your calls. Phoenix, Arizona, Jody.
- 17:30Hello, Jody. Dennis Prager.
- 17:32>> Good morning. How are you?
- 17:33>> I'm well, thank you.
- 17:34>> Good. I love these conversations that
- 17:37you have and and
- 17:39I used to be
- 17:41a dancer, too, and just like that woman
- 17:43not realizing that it's that men were
- 17:45pigs
- 17:46until much later, but I have a wonderful
- 17:49husband.
- 17:50And uh
- 17:51one of the things that just happened
- 17:52yesterday, which just blessed me to
- 17:53bits, is that uh
- 17:55we were driving [clears throat] down the
- 17:56road and saw a billboard
- 17:58with this beautiful woman in a bathing
- 18:00suit, scantily clad, for a tanning
- 18:02salon, you know.
- 18:03And I was kind of looking at it and
- 18:05remembering when and
- 18:07and my husband just said,
- 18:09"How would you like to be
- 18:11that up there on that billboard?" And he
- 18:13said it with something in his voice that
- 18:14was like, "Huh?"
- 18:15So, I said, "Well, are you kidding? Most
- 18:18women would want to be look like that,
- 18:20you know."
- 18:21And he said,
- 18:22I said, "What do you think?" And he
- 18:23goes, "Well, I'd be embarrassed."
- 18:26"You know, what if that was your mom?
- 18:28What if that was your sister, you know?"
- 18:29And I was like,
- 18:31"What do you mean?" And he said, "Well,
- 18:32you're mine." He says, "I wouldn't want
- 18:35you up there looking like that." And
- 18:37I said, "Well, would you be proud of me
- 18:39if my body looked like that?"
- 18:41And he said, "Of course I'd be proud of
- 18:43you, but I wouldn't want you hanging out
- 18:44like that." I said, "Well,
- 18:47you know, obviously my body doesn't look
- 18:49like that. What do you think now?" And
- 18:50he goes He looked at me and he goes,
- 18:52"Baby," he said, "you will always look
- 18:54like that to me."
- 18:55That just really
- 18:57You know, I just it just renewed my
- 18:59my honor and my dignity and
- 19:04just made me realize again that, you
- 19:07know, um
- 19:09that
- 19:11I don't know how to put that into words.
- 19:12It just renewed my uh trust and my
- 19:17um
- 19:17>> Well, yeah, and I'm sure you loved him
- 19:18for it. I mean,
- 19:20it's a great comment.
- 19:22>> You know, and and it was good cuz we
- 19:24could be open and honest.
- 19:26>> do you do you By the way, do you do you
- 19:28take care to to try to look as good as
- 19:30possible?
- 19:31>> I do.
- 19:32>> Well, I had a feeling that I had a
- 19:35Let me give you a back one second.
- 19:37What was the butt? I'm sorry.
- 19:39>> Oh, I said yeah, I do I do take care of
- 19:42myself, but I'm not obsessed. I mean,
- 19:44I'm I'm 53 and I'm not going to look 18
- 19:46again and I can't even
- 19:48>> obviously. No, no, but women at 53 could
- 19:51look rather good. I mean, we we we live
- 19:53in a new age thanks to nutrition,
- 19:55health,
- 19:57every so often, you know, maybe
- 19:59a nip or a tuck here if that's what a
- 20:00woman wants. Anyway,
- 20:03if a woman takes care of herself
- 20:06physically
- 20:08and I'm excluding cases where it's, you
- 20:11know, there's there's some
- 20:11impossibility. But if a woman does take
- 20:14care of herself,
- 20:15just that fact is a loving statement to
- 20:19to her husband. This is one of the
- 20:21things that women don't know.
- 20:23Or not all women know, let's put it that
- 20:25way. Many many women do. That is so
- 20:27important for them to understand that
- 20:30the very effort that one might make
- 20:32through exercise or watching how she
- 20:34eats and so on. This and dressing in in
- 20:37you know, in a non-frumpy way,
- 20:39this is this is a massive statement to
- 20:42your husband that I love you.
- 20:44Because you're doing it for him. And if
- 20:46you say you're doing it for yourself,
- 20:47fine, you're doing it for yourself, but
- 20:49he'll still take [music] it as for him.
- 20:51In the meantime, his comment is true.
- 20:53Baby, you'll you'll always be like that
- 20:55to me. There is a lot of truth to that.
- 20:58Because otherwise, no people growing
- 21:00past a certain age would be would be
- 21:02able to have any attraction for one
- 21:03another.
- 21:05So he he wasn't he wasn't completely
- 21:07or he wasn't perhaps in any way
- 21:09exaggerating.
- 21:11All right, we'll continue talking about
- 21:14to to men here about some of the no-nos.
- 21:17This is the male-female hour on the
- 21:19Dennis Prager Show. We continue. [music]
- 21:21>> This episode of Timeless Wisdom will
- 21:23continue right after this.
- 21:27>> When someone you love is hurting, what
- 21:29do you do? We're often quick to say, "If
- 21:32there's anything I can do, just let
- 21:34[music] me know." But what if we stopped
- 21:36waiting to be asked and simply showed
- 21:38up? On the If There's [music] Anything I
- 21:40Can Do podcast, Pam McConnell shares
- 21:42real stories, biblical wisdom, and
- 21:45practical ways to walk alongside people
- 21:47through grief, loss, and life's hardest
- 21:49moments. Learn how to show up and make a

- 22:00>> Now, back to more of Dennis Prager's
- 22:02Timeless Wisdom.
- 22:04>> I've been reflecting on Lori in
- 22:06Minneapolis, whose [music] call I
- 22:08enjoyed in that we had a wonderful
- 22:10dialogue.
- 22:11And it was when men speak to her and
- 22:14stare the entire [music] time at her at
- 22:16her breast.
- 22:18And
- 22:19I I bounced this off a number of women
- 22:22off offline here who say that they who
- 22:26have uh
- 22:27who are well endowed in that arena, and
- 22:30they have not experienced that. And I
- 22:33and I'm not saying Lori hasn't. That's
- 22:34not my point at all. It's to raise the
- 22:36issue.
- 22:37Uh is it uh obviously men look, but as
- 22:41to a whole conversation where a man
- 22:43stares
- 22:44uh not looking ever at your face, that's
- 22:47hard to for me to imagine. And I think a
- 22:50lot of men are goofy,
- 22:51but I it's still it's hard for me to
- 22:54imagine. And so, I would love to have a
- 22:56video and see how much is in the eye of
- 22:59the beholder, the woman, and how much is
- 23:02in the eye of the man, the
- 23:04alleged starer.
- 23:06Just just something to
- 23:09to think about as well.
- 23:11And it's one of those things where, as I
- 23:14have often felt, it would be so good if
- 23:17each sex could experience what it is
- 23:19like to be the other sex for a week,
- 23:22or even a day. Of course, my theory is
- 23:24that if men got women's brains for a
- 23:27day, they would
- 23:28there would be a large amount of
- 23:29suicide.
- 23:31The amount that would be going on
- 23:34would be so would drive them out of
- 23:36their minds. They're not used to having
- 23:38so much go on at one time. All the
- 23:40conversations, for example, that would
- 23:42be reviewed. Whereas if women got our
- 23:44brains for a day,
- 23:46they would all be singing in the
- 23:48streets, free, free, free at last, given
- 23:51how little was going on.
- 23:53All right.
- 23:54Now, let's uh
- 23:57let's go to uh
- 24:00Karen in Redondo Beach, California.
- 24:02Karen, hi. Dennis Prager, hi.
- 24:04>> Hi. How are you?
- 24:06>> Good, thank you.
- 24:07>> I'd like to make a comment about
- 24:09the male behavior no-nos.
- 24:12And one that I think of when I was
- 24:14younger was how men can be with you, but
- 24:18they're looking lustfully at other
- 24:20women.
- 24:21And I always thought it was very
- 24:22disrespectful.
- 24:25I've been married for a long time, and I
- 24:27understand that
- 24:29men are very visual.
- 24:32And my husband looks, and I know he
- 24:34looks, but he does it in a very discreet
- 24:38and respectful way to me. And um
- 24:41I just wanted to
- 24:43>> Good. Let Let me talk Let me talk about
- 24:45this, Karen, cuz this is I'm I was
- 24:48hoping that somebody would raise this
- 24:49subject. So, let me let me again be as
- 24:52open and honest as possible here.
- 24:55It takes a tremendous amount of
- 24:57willpower for a man not to look when
- 24:59when a woman enters a room or for that
- 25:02matter when a woman enters within 1
- 25:04square mile of where he is. That That is
- 25:07how profoundly we men are programmed
- 25:10visually as Karen was saying.
- 25:12At the So, women need to understand
- 25:14that, but men need to understand that
- 25:16there's a certain
- 25:18propriety to the way they do this.
- 25:21And And I'll be very, uh, precise here.
- 25:24I'll give you it with a with an example.
- 25:25I call the guy radar run.
- 25:27You're sitting at a at a restaurant with
- 25:29radar run and every time a female walks
- 25:32by the table or into the restaurant, the
- 25:34guy just spends, uh, a little while
- 25:36looking at that woman and then returns
- 25:38to you.
- 25:39And to give you an idea of how wrong
- 25:41that is, I don't like that when I,
- 25:44who I'm not the the wife or the
- 25:47girlfriend or just another even female
- 25:49business companion,
- 25:51I'm a I'm another guy and I don't like
- 25:53being at a restaurant with the guy who's
- 25:55doing that.
- 25:57It's rude to anybody. That That's That's
- 26:00the point. This is just simple common
- 26:02sense, which by the way most of life is.
- 26:05But this is certainly that. At the same
- 26:07time, he will notice and one of the one
- 26:10of the things that I think can
- 26:13uh,
- 26:13can help
- 26:15uh, dissipate some of the tension that
- 26:17that might cause is first for the woman
- 26:20to accept that he will inevitably notice
- 26:23and that there be a time factor. If he
- 26:25you know, if if if he just if the
- 26:27conversation ends cuz he can't stop
- 26:29looking, we that's that's when we have a
- 26:31very serious problem.
- 26:33You know,
- 26:34>> [music]
- 26:34>> even you know, 5 seconds could be a lot
- 26:36of time in that regard.
- 26:38Another thing that he might do is if it
- 26:40is his wife or or his girlfriend,
- 26:43uh, again, I am very big on men being
- 26:46honest and open. That doesn't mean
- 26:47constant. [music]
- 26:48See, that's a big difference.
- 26:50As I said, if men talked about sex as
- 26:52much as they think about it, they would
- 26:54be [music] very boring.
- 26:56Back in a moment. You're listening to
- 26:57the Dennis Prager Show, the male-female
- 26:59hour.
- 27:00>> This episode of Timeless Wisdom will
- 27:02[music] continue right after this.
- 27:07>> When someone you love is hurting, what
- 27:09do you do? We're often quick to say, "If
- 27:11there's anything I can do, just let me
- 27:13know." [music]
- 27:14But what if we stopped waiting to be
- 27:15asked and simply showed up? On the
- 27:18[music] If There's Anything I Can Do
- 27:19podcast, Pam McConnell shares real
- 27:22stories, biblical wisdom, and practical
- 27:24ways to walk alongside people through

- 27:35podcasts.
- 27:39>> Now, back to more [music] of Dennis
- 27:41Prager's Timeless Wisdom.
- 27:43>> It's the male-female hour, honest talk
- 27:45about men and women every [music] week.
- 27:48At this hour, the second hour of my show
- 27:50on Wednesdays,
- 27:52talking about, [music]
- 27:53given all the explanations of male
- 27:56behavior, which I think has helped
- 27:57[music] so much,
- 27:59I want to also
- 28:01let men know that none of this gives
- 28:03you, us, a green light to do anything or
- 28:06act in any way or speak in any way we
- 28:08want.
- 28:10And so, some of the no-nos, at least in
- 28:12in women's eyes, uh
- 28:15needs to be explained. And I I have a
- 28:16middle-of-the-road issue on the one that
- 28:19keeps being noted, and totally
- 28:20understandably, men men uh
- 28:24looking at women in a sexual way. What
- 28:26does that mean? I mean, you know, is the
- 28:27guy, you know,
- 28:28you know,
- 28:30you know, circulating his tongue around
- 28:32his lips? I mean, you know, and or
- 28:33something gross? Or is it a glance?
- 28:36There's a very broad spectrum here.
- 28:39180 Prager 776.
- 28:42And it's not always
- 28:43involved in a sexual thing, as we will
- 28:46hear from Catherine in Los Angeles.
- 28:49>> Dennis Prager?
- 28:51>> Yes, hi Catherine.
- 28:53>> Oh, good morning, sir. Thank you so
- 28:55much. You make my life a better
- 28:58a better one and you make me a better
- 29:00human being day by day. So, thank you.
- 29:02>> Thank you for telling me.
- 29:04>> I know this is radio, so I put this into
- 29:07five quick bullet points. If I could
- 29:09read them off?
- 29:10>> Go ahead.
- 29:12>> Number one, sharing information about
- 29:14our intimacy with his friends to impress
- 29:17them.
- 29:18Number two, lying to my friends to make
- 29:20himself sound more impressive. Number
- 29:23three, being rude to service people on
- 29:25our dates. Number four, talking about
- 29:28his big ambitions but doing nothing to
- 29:31get there. And number five, comparing me
- 29:33to his ex.
- 29:36>> Now, you have a husband or a boyfriend
- 29:38who does these things?
- 29:40>> I am a single 26-year-old woman in Los
- 29:43Angeles, a conservative so, um
- 29:46it makes for slim pickings out here, but
- 29:50I have a nice boyfriend now, but I've
- 29:52dated a lot of guys that have just all
- 29:55exhibited this same
- 29:57>> Well, I mean, that that is a perfect
- 29:59list of things for which I have contempt
- 30:02for all five.
- 30:04>> Mhm.
- 30:04>> You get no argument from me. Let's very
- 30:07quickly review them. Start with number
- 30:08one.
- 30:10>> Uh number one, sharing information about
- 30:12our intimacy with his friends in order
- 30:15to impress them.
- 30:16>> Well, I've never understood this about
- 30:18guys af- after the age of 15, frankly.
- 30:21>> Mhm.
- 30:23Yeah, I'm talking about
- 30:24I'm talking about younger guys like my
- 30:27age. It's very very hard to find male
- 30:29peers of mine that I can relate to.
- 30:32>> Well, all right. It's so bizarre to me.
- 30:34I mean, what what is there at at the age
- 30:36of 26 and I assume the men that you
- 30:38dated go up to 35 at least. And and and
- 30:41you know, telling hey, man, let me tell
- 30:44you what what we did, you know. I It's
- 30:46It's It's It's hard for me to imagine,
- 30:47but anyway, and and even harder for me
- 30:50to imagine that you would find out about
- 30:52it.
- 30:53>> Well, yeah, he tells me, you know, oh, I
- 30:56told so-and-so about such and such, and
- 30:59boy, was he impressed.
- 31:00>> All right. Well, I don't know what if
- 31:01the such and such were the details of
- 31:03your sex life in order to impress them,
- 31:06uh then you go on to the next guy. Next,
- 31:09number two.
- 31:10>> Uh number two, sir. Lying to my friends
- 31:13to make himself sound more impressive.
- 31:15>> this this, of course, is mind-blowing.
- 31:18>> Yeah.
- 31:19>> This drives me nuts. I mean, that that
- 31:20is one of the rare things that I would
- 31:22say immediately invalidate somebody. I
- 31:25mean, it's one thing where somebody
- 31:26might exaggerate, you know, uh an
- 31:29accomplishment. I I I think that that
- 31:31shouldn't be done, but but but outright
- 31:33make up stuff uh
- 31:35is if that's what you mean, it's it's
- 31:38unfortunately that that is an immediate
- 31:41canceler. I agree. Number three.
- 31:44>> Number three. Being rude to service
- 31:46people on our dates, you know,
- 31:48>> I have written I wrote in my book, my
- 31:50favorite of my four books is Think a
- 31:52Second Time, 44 Essays. And in it, I
- 31:55actually have a chapter. One of my
- 31:57essays is exactly on how we we can pick
- 32:01people properly. And I say, watch how
- 32:04people treat people from whom they don't
- 32:07want anything, like a waiter or
- 32:09waitress. Don't look at how people treat
- 32:13someone from whom they want something,
- 32:14like a boss.
- 32:16Watch how they treat people whose social
- 32:19station is below them. How do they treat
- 32:23the the the the plumber who comes to the
- 32:25house or the sanitation worker or or
- 32:28whomever?
- 32:30And and
- 32:31okay, number four.
- 32:33>> Number four. Talking about their big
- 32:36ambitions, but doing nothing to get
- 32:38there.
- 32:38>> Okay, that's right, fair enough. That's
- 32:40Yes, I knew somebody like that. And and
- 32:43he lost he he lost all his friends as a
- 32:45result of it. Next and fifth?
- 32:47>> Final, comparing me to his ex.
- 32:51>> Yeah, well, to your face? I don't even
- 32:53understand that. It's so bizarre a piece
- 32:55of conduct. These are all pretty
- 32:57self-evident. So, what you need to do is
- 33:00you need to go on eHarmony and write
- 33:02about your values and and you know, find
- 33:05somebody, hopefully.
- 33:06Anyway, I thank you, Catherine.
- 33:09I appreciate appreciate you calling.
- 33:10There are conservative men in Los
- 33:12Angeles, by the way.
- 33:14I I I can I can identify at least six
- 33:16offhand.
- 33:18Now, that that was just a dark joke.
- 33:20Okay, there are more than six. Okay.
- 33:23Very good. Let's see here.
- 33:26Let's go to Marlena in Dallas, Texas.
- 33:30Marlena, Dennis Prager, hi.
- 33:32>> Hi, Dennis. How are you?
- 33:33>> I'm well, thank you.
- 33:35>> It's good to talk to you. Um, my comment
- 33:37about male no-nos is um when couples are
- 33:42in the presence of each other and
- 33:43having, you know, whatever conversations
- 33:46and say somebody's husband comments on
- 33:51somebody's girlfriend in front of his
- 33:54girlfriend or his wife
- 33:57um that's pretty embarrassing and it's
- 33:59>> You mean comments in a very positive way
- 34:02and and
- 34:03as if
- 34:04>> um
- 34:05saying she's, you know, "Look at Look at
- 34:08uh
- 34:08so-and-so, she's hot. I mean, she's a
- 34:10total babe."
- 34:11>> Yes, terrific. You're Not only are you
- 34:15Marlena, not only are you right about it
- 34:18in a male-female context
- 34:20but this is a moral issue that I've
- 34:22always thought about. If I am talking to
- 34:25a violinist
- 34:27I will never talk about great
- 34:29violinists.
- 34:32Uh you you it it's just common sense
- 34:35that [music] you you don't make a person
- 34:37feel less than others of their same
- 34:41category, whether it's female or
- 34:43violinist or or whatever the person
- 34:46does. Or if you [music] talk to an
- 34:48accountant and you start reeling off the
- 34:49names of the greatest accountants you've
- 34:51you've known.
- 34:53Just be sensitive to this.
- 34:55Human sensitivity.
- 34:57Back in [music] a moment. Hi, Dennis
- 34:59Prager here. Well, as you know, I've
- 35:02been off the air since my injury in
- 35:04November 2024.
- 35:06Thank you for your prayers.
- 35:08Believe me, I've missed talking to you.
- 35:11I'm starting the Ask Me Anything
- 35:13episodes on the Timeless Wisdom podcast,
- 35:16and I'd love to hear from you. Whether
- 35:18your question is about faith, morality,
- 35:21politics, history, relationships,
- 35:24happiness, or even my life, give me a
- 35:27call and leave a voicemail.
- 35:30The number is 877-243-
- 35:347776.
- 35:36That's 877-243-7776.
- 35:41Please include your first name and where
- 35:43you're calling from. I will answer as
- 35:47many questions as I can on future
- 35:50episodes of the podcast. Obviously, I
- 35:53can't respond to every question, but I
- 35:56will listen or read every question. I
- 35:59look forward to hearing from you. Thank
- 36:01you for listening. Well, this has been I
- 36:04hope very helpful
- 36:06to both sexes, some of the no-nos that
- 36:09uh women perceive in male behavior.
- 36:14I have explained men so much in the
- 36:16course of the male-female hour.
- 36:18I don't know how long it's I've been
- 36:20broadcasting it. Is it a year or 2
- 36:22years? I I don't even know.
- 36:24Uh and of course my writings on it and
- 36:26have the book that I'm writing on it
- 36:28that uh I also need men to understand
- 36:30that the none of this is a big green
- 36:32light to do or say whatever they want at
- 36:34any given time.
- 36:36Uh it's it's so interesting to me like
- 36:38the last the last one was such a
- 36:41uh
- 36:41a fascinating thing to say in front of
- 36:43your girlfriend about how hot the
- 36:45another woman is.
- 36:47It's
- 36:48forget the woman factor. As I said
- 36:51earlier,
- 36:52uh
- 36:53if I were sitting with you,
- 36:55uh if I were sitting with you, okay? And
- 36:58you started saying how great another
- 37:00talk show host was.
- 37:02Uh I I I
- 37:03I couldn't personally care less. Uh I'm
- 37:05I I have
- 37:07deep ego fulfillment in my work. I'm
- 37:09rather balanced,
- 37:11but it would be insensitive on your
- 37:13part.
- 37:14Uh unless it came up and you know, the
- 37:16name came up or I raised the name and
- 37:18said, "You know, I'll tell you among my
- 37:19colleagues that I really admire is X, Y,
- 37:22or Z."
- 37:23I mean, you just
- 37:25it's just as I said, it's just
- 37:27people don't think enough, "What impact
- 37:30are my words having?"
- 37:32So, it what was true it's true about the
- 37:35woman, but it's true about anybody.
- 37:39It just it would just make make sense.
- 37:43And
- 37:45you know, let's let's maybe we'll try to
- 37:47get this call from an 80-year-old woman
- 37:49in Sarasota, Florida. Well, hello
- 37:51Lorraine, Dennis Prager.
- 37:53>> Hi there. Thanks for calling.
- 37:54>> Hi.
- 37:55>> Uh thanks for listening to me.
- 37:57>> Thank you.
- 37:57>> to you often when I'm in the car. Um
- 38:01I have to laugh. I'm going to be 80
- 38:02years old in September. I have buried
- 38:05three husbands. Um I have some very dear
- 38:08friends of mine even older than I am. We
- 38:10all feel the same way. When our husbands
- 38:13stop looking,
- 38:15then it's time to dig the hole deeper.
- 38:18Because there are many times where they
- 38:20would like to give us some advice, and
- 38:22they're very hesitant because they're
- 38:24afraid we may not take it in the right
- 38:26direction. But, when we watch them and
- 38:29we see what gives them some pleasures
- 38:32uh in looking at other women,
- 38:35then we in turn take those those looks
- 38:39and say, "Maybe maybe I should do
- 38:42something about myself."
- 38:44>> Lorraine, your three husbands were lucky
- 38:46men.
- 38:48If I come to Sarasota, which I intend to
- 38:50do, I want you to come over. I want to
- 38:52give you a big hug.
- 38:54That's right. When your husband see
- 38:56there you have to balance it.
- 38:59He shouldn't be staring all the time,
- 39:00but if he stops looking,
- 39:02you've got a problem on your hands. I
- 39:04hope this is all help. Male female hour
- 39:07at Dennis Prager Show. [music]
- 39:08>> Tomorrow on timeless wisdom with Dennis
- 39:10Prager.
- 39:11>> A plane carrying three American civilian
- 39:14contractors crash-landed
- 39:17in the mountainous jungle of Colombia.
- 39:19Dazed and shaken, they emerged from the
- 39:21plane bloodied and injured as gunfire
- 39:24rained down around them.
- 39:26As of that moment, they were prisoners
- 39:28of the FARC,
- 39:30a Colombian terrorist and Marxist rebel
- 39:33organization.
- 39:34>> As soon as I learned that that our
- 39:36airplane was crashing, I immediately
- 39:38turned to God. Immediately. It didn't
- 39:40take It didn't take a a second. Um and
- 39:44from that point on, uh I found that I
- 39:46wasn't walking alone. I had I had his
- 39:49presence with me.
- 39:51>> Hm. So, you felt that he was looking out
- 39:53for you?
- 39:55>> Uh you know, I Yeah, I think so. I think
- 39:58that that God had put it in my heart
- 40:00that that I was going to come out of
- 40:01there someday. And um and and that's
- 40:05what I had. That's the hope that I had
- 40:07uh throughout the 5 and 1/2 years of
- 40:09captivity.
- 40:10>> Why didn't they kill you?
- 40:12>> It's That's a great question. You know,
- 40:14at first, I didn't understand why they
- 40:16didn't kill us like they killed Tommy,
- 40:19Janice, and Sergeant Cruz.
