0:07a lot of people think that they're
0:09thinking but they're actually
0:10rearranging their ignorance
0:12think about that for a moment one of the
0:14greatest skills of the 21st century
0:16is the skill of critical thinking
0:18critical thinking has nothing to do with
0:20emotions
0:20which are biochemical and primal in
0:23nature
0:24it'll surprise you that even if you have
0:28a phd or master's degree
0:31it's almost like you were dropped out of
0:34life and what i mean by that is this
0:36that education teaches you what to
0:40think but it doesn't teach you how to
0:43think
0:44and this is why the message of the
0:46kingdom is so
0:47powerful in this day and age
0:50unfortunately that primal state that i
0:52mentioned earlier
0:54is where most people are living so in
0:56this message the art of thinking
0:58i'm exploring the parables of jesus in
1:01order to
1:02challenge you how to
1:05think think about that the parables
1:08taught by jesus was not
1:10just so that you can have a basis for
1:12your theology it's really to allow the
1:14holy spirit
1:15to be like a tour guide to help you to
1:18navigate the landscape of your potential
1:21and to take you to a place inside
1:23yourself
1:24that you cannot go by yourself god wants
1:27to take you
1:28from primal to powerful and through the
1:30understanding of these parables
1:32you will have the ability to move into
1:34new realms of abundance to rethink life
1:37and to influence change let's dig in
1:41[Music]
1:48good evening everyone i'm excited about
1:51this series
1:52and tonight today this afternoon
1:56whenever you're viewing this series i
1:57want you
1:58to get in a comfortable place if you're
2:01driving i want you to really listen but
2:04pay attention to
2:06what's going on in front of you on the
2:07road um
2:09those of you that have the opportunity
2:11to take copious notes i want you to
2:13really take copious notes
2:15and don't let anything or anyone
2:16distract you at this moment
2:19this message really is going to be a
2:21message that's going to revolutionize
2:23your life
2:24i'm taking my message today out of
2:26matthew 13
2:273 to 13. we're looking at all the
2:30parables
2:32and today i want to do a simple
2:34treatment on why these parables
2:36are important the book of matthew
2:38chapter 13
2:393-13 says and he spake many things unto
2:43them in parables saying
2:45behold the sower went forth to sow and
2:47when he
2:48sowed some seed fell by the wayside
2:51and the fowls came and devolved them up
2:54some fell
2:54on stoney places where they had not much
2:57earth and forth which
2:59they sprung up because they had no
3:01dappness
3:02in them or in no darkness of the earth
3:05and when the sun was up they were
3:07scourged and because
3:09they had no root they would withered
3:11away
3:12some fell among the thorns and the
3:15thorns sprung up
3:16and choked but others fell on good
3:18ground
3:19and brought forth fruit some 100 full
3:22some 60 fold some 30-fold
3:24and i know a lot of people think that
3:27that has to do with
3:29whether some people are going to get a
3:32hundredfold or going to get
3:3460-fold or going to get 30-fold
3:38that is a terminology that simply says
3:41whatever the potential is in that
3:44particular seed
3:46whether that seed is a hundredfold
3:49that seed will produce a hundredfold
3:52if there's a seed that has the invisible
3:55programming within its dna
3:57to produce 60 fold that's what it's
4:00going to produce so every seed
4:02has within itself a hidden um
4:07programming that determines the kind of
4:10harvest
4:11and this is why the type of seed is
4:13important
4:15but it goes on to say verse number nine
4:17whoever has an ear let him hear
4:20and uh the disciples came and said unto
4:23him why speaketh thou to them
4:27in parables and he answered and said
4:29unto them because it is given
4:31unto you to know the mysteries of the
4:33kingdom but
4:34to them it is not given for whosoever
4:36hath
4:37to him shall be given and he shall have
4:40abundance
4:41but whosoever hath not from him shall be
4:43taken away
4:44even that which you've had even that
4:47which that he hath
4:48you've heard of the saying the rich get
4:50richer and the poor get poorer
4:52so this is a great example of it
4:56what you receive is determined by what
4:59you
5:00have and we're not talking about
5:02something that is temporal we're not
5:03talking about
5:04money we're not talking about houses and
5:07land
5:07we're talking about whoever has the
5:11ability to understand these teaching
5:13whoever has the revelation
5:16that um christ is preaching preaching
5:18about
5:19then he'll put his increase on autopilot
5:22now i know
5:23personally that i love my increase to be
5:26on autopilot
5:27i love my success to be on autopilot i
5:30would
5:30absolutely love my wealth to be on
5:33autopilot i would love my blessings to
5:36be an
5:37auto pilot and this is important so
5:40as he begins to teach on the message of
5:42the kingdom
5:44he wants them to understand how valuable
5:47this message
5:48is the scripture says therefore spake i
5:51to them in parables here it is he wants
5:54you
5:55to be to have full understanding full
5:58comprehension
5:59he wants you to have a kingdom mentality
6:02because your success depends on it your
6:05your
6:06progress depends on it your wealth
6:09depends on it
6:10your growth depends on it everything is
6:12going to rise and fall
6:14on your understanding of the kingdom the
6:17bible said i spoke to them
6:19in parables because they seeing not
6:22and they seeing see not and hearing they
6:26hear not
6:26neither do they understand so how can
6:28someone see
6:30and not see and how good how can someone
6:32hear not hear
6:33well it's very simple to me uh when we
6:35talk to someone
6:37and we really want them to understand we
6:39usually say
6:40do you see what i'm saying so to see
6:43means do you fully comprehend
6:45and this is not just comprehension it's
6:48comprehension
6:49of a revelation that you receive as a
6:52rhema word
6:54so that you have immediate application a
6:57person who really understands
6:59truth usually applies it and you'll see
7:01the proof in their life
7:03but it's a difference when you
7:05understand a word but not the context
7:08and this is where a lot of arguments
7:09happen a lot of debates
7:11where you might be in a conversation and
7:13you're talking to someone
7:15and you're debating and you're arguing
7:17arguing back and forward
7:19about the words and you're you're
7:21arguing about the semantics
7:24and the person would say well that's not
7:25what i meant and you're going to argue
7:27that's what i
7:28said so that means that your context is
7:31going to be
7:32important and this is the dividing
7:35factor between religious
7:38christians and those that are kingdom
7:41citizens no one said that one person is
7:44not more saved than the other
7:46but one person is going to have more
7:50manifestations of the promises that god
7:52has
7:53because they not only have the
7:55understanding and conceptualization
7:58of a word but they understand it based
8:01on the context
8:02so everywhere jesus went he preached the
8:05message of the kingdom and
8:07i tell you when it comes to the message
8:09of the kingdom
8:10a lot of people don't understand the
8:13word kingdom and i'm going to be
8:14breaking it down
8:16as we introduce you to the parables but
8:18for all
8:19intents and purposes when we talk about
8:22the preaching of the message of the
8:23kingdom
8:24the message of the kingdom is a message
8:27that christ
8:28preached and it is a message of
8:31empowerment
8:32that gives meaning hope dignity and
8:34purpose not just for christians but for
8:36all humanity
8:37it would be interesting if governments
8:40embrace the teachings of christ
8:43and it'll be interesting if other
8:45religions
8:46embrace the christians of christ in fact
8:49it was a statement
8:50that um uh
8:53mahatma gandhi had made back in the day
8:57um he loved the message of christ
9:00but he didn't really care for the
9:03christians why
9:04because we were preaching one thing but
9:07we were not living it
9:08and if we can just bridge the gap
9:11between
9:12what we say and what we do i believe
9:14that we would be
9:15great influencers influences in the
9:18world
9:19influencers amongst our friends
9:21influence
9:22influencers in our business influencers
9:26in the business arena and the
9:27professional arena
9:29you would see that we would become more
9:31influential
9:32if we understood that we should walk the
9:35walk
9:36and talk the talk not only talk the talk
9:38but
9:39uh walk the walk as well he said well
9:43the reason why they're not able to live
9:46in this realm of abundance and abundance
9:48is yours is because
9:50there is the hearing
9:54without comprehension and a lot of
9:57people
9:57live a life that is frustrated and
9:59frustration
10:01because they are doing everything they
10:03believe
10:04that the bible is telling them to do but
10:06yet they don't see the manifestation
10:09and i've conclude i've made this one
10:10conclusion based on where i
10:13was at the beginning stages of my
10:15christianity
10:16and where i am now the difference is me
10:20not only believing but applying so the
10:23greatest
10:23challenge of the church today is not the
10:26conversion of
10:28sinners to be christians but christians
10:31to become believers
10:32the bible said that there's going to be
10:34a performance of those things that are
10:37believed
10:38and so uh if you want to see your life
10:41in alignment
10:43with those promises that he has and
10:45there's approximately
10:4675 categories of promises
10:49and within those promises there are
10:51hundreds that that
10:52that god has left for uh the
10:56uh humanity period and those of us that
11:00are believers we should see the
11:02manifestation
11:03and we should see it in rapid fashion
11:06and so the message that jesus preached
11:08was a message of empowerment
11:10and that message of empowerment was
11:13taught to his disciples
11:15and all that was listening we all know
11:18him going up in the mountain and
11:21teaching or preaching the beatitudes we
11:24all know about that
11:26but did everyone who heard
11:30him teach on these things did they leave
11:33the mountaintop experience
11:35go back down in the valley or go back to
11:37their usual life
11:38did they apply it did they live it and
11:41the proof is
11:42always in the pudding and so from
11:45that time in matthew chapter 4 17
11:49after the temptation of christ
11:52the bible said that he was he he was
11:55tempted
11:56by malevolent forces which who we called
11:59the devil
12:00and he was tempted at the level of his
12:03thoughts and i want you to write that
12:04down
12:05because the highest form of spiritual
12:08warfare
12:09is the counsel of the human mind by any
12:12other spirit
12:12other than the spirit of the lord and
12:14this is going to be very important
12:17because a lot of people live at the
12:19level of their
12:20emotions and if you are being attacked
12:23at the level of your mind
12:25that means one is spiritual and the
12:28other
12:28is biochemical and bioelectrical
12:32so your emotions you the reason why you
12:35feel emotions or you have feelings
12:37is because of the biochemical reaction
12:41to something that you have interpreted
12:44so that means that
12:46when jesus was preaching the message of
12:49the kingdom
12:50he wanted to give them context so that
12:52they can live an empowered life
12:54so that they can interpret what it was
12:57going on in the world
12:59not from the lenses of culture or the
13:02prevailing culture
13:04uh but from the lenses of the kingdom
13:07which had its own culture
13:09and so it means that there was a
13:10revolution that had to go on
13:13and it was the revolution of our
13:14thinking and so as i
13:16set this up and from out of matthew 4 17
13:20from that time jesus began to preach and
13:22to say repent
13:24for the kingdom of heaven is at hand as
13:27i
13:27set this up i want to uh address you
13:30today
13:32um and in this this particular
13:35uh message on a crash a
13:38crash course in thinking a crash
13:42course in thinking a lot of people that
13:45they're
13:45think that they're thinking when in fact
13:47they're not they're being controlled by
13:49the prevailing culture
13:50that is characterized by uh conspiracy
13:53theories propaganda
13:55ideologies that are contrary to humanity
13:58when jesus came he wanted to restore our
14:02humanity the scripture says he came to
14:05seek
14:05and to save that which was lost not who
14:08was
14:08lost but that which was lost and i want
14:11to float that as a balloon i'm going to
14:13come and come back
14:14because our series is really going to
14:16challenge challenge you
14:18at the level of your thinking and i want
14:20to go line by line
14:21precept upon pre-set as we introduce you
14:25to kingdom thinking in this series or
14:28this particular section of our teaching
14:32which is a crash course
14:35in thinking a lot of people think
14:38they're thinking
14:39but they're actually just rearranging
14:41their ignorance
14:43and we have to be careful even as
14:46believers
14:47that we are not rearranging our
14:50ignorance
14:51that we are not being controlled by a
14:53prevailing culture
14:55at the expense of our intellect
14:58at the expense of our intelligence as at
15:01at the expense of our god-likeness
15:04and our god-likeness is demonstrated
15:07many ways but primarily
15:09in our thought life how we think when
15:12god created humanity
15:14he gave him the ability to think there
15:17was no box
15:18he was the innovator of boxes
15:22and so if you think outside of a box
15:25that means that the box
15:27is still your reference and this is why
15:29a lot of people
15:30are going through life as christians and
15:33they're really really frustrated
15:35because they're thinking outside of a
15:37box
15:38and they are not knowing that that box
15:40is still their reference
15:42so they really have not been liberated
15:44in their mind
15:45philippians 4 8 and 9 says finally
15:48brethren whatsoever things
15:50are true whatsoever things are honest
15:53whatsoever things are just
15:54whatever things are pure whatsoever
15:56things are lovely whatsoever things are
15:58of a good report
15:59if there be any virtue if there be any
16:02praise think on these things
16:04those things which you have learned and
16:06received
16:08and heard and seen of me seen in me
16:11do and the god of peace shall be with
16:14you
16:14so this is very important because jesus
16:16going back to our text was able to say
16:20in seeing they don't see and in the
16:22hearing
16:23they don't hear in other words they're
16:25able to hear words which the average
16:27person
16:28does but they have no critical thinking
16:32a crash course in thinking the parables
16:36were preached or taught to the disciples
16:40to open up their mind to remove
16:42restrictions from offer their mind
16:44so that they can think like god so you
16:46and i we could think like god
16:49we can think creatively we could think
16:52innovatively
16:53and we no longer are thinking outside of
16:55the box what we're doing is creating
16:57new boxes new new paradigms new
17:00methodologies new philosophies new
17:02ideologies the scripture says in
17:04philippians 2 and
17:065 let this mind be in you which is also
17:08in christ jesus
17:10and so if you want to know the mentality
17:13of an individual if you want to
17:15understand the psychology
17:17of a person listen to their speech
17:20listen to their words why
17:22because their speech and words will
17:24betray them
17:26and it's interesting because a lot of
17:28times we get disappointed especially if
17:30people make promises we get disappointed
17:32if they
17:33uh don't make good in their promise or
17:35if someone lies to us
17:37or someone betrays us we get all upset
17:40last night when i was preparing for that
17:42i was listening to an interview
17:44dmx and dmx says look uh uh
17:47you know a lot of people say they don't
17:49trust anymore
17:51but that's too much energy to say
17:54oh i don't trust this person or i don't
17:56trust that person it's too much negative
17:58energy
17:58you need to trust everyone and so the
18:01interviewer was interviewing him
18:03and you know kind of confused how could
18:06you say you trust everyone if
18:08people are not trustworthy and he'd
18:09begin to break it down
18:11he said look think of it this way if you
18:14saw a snake
18:15you can trust that snake you're going to
18:17trust that that snake is going to bite
18:19you
18:20and if you see a lion you're going to
18:22trust that that lion
18:24is going to destroy you eat you kill you
18:28and so when a person shows you who they
18:31are
18:31trust them and i thought that's so
18:34brilliant because
18:36now it puts a different kind of spin on
18:39the word
18:40trust and a lot of us as christians
18:43we don't even trust the process that god
18:47brings us through because we we we are
18:50so
18:50our mindsets and our thoughts actually
18:54have been pre-programmed
18:57by a counter culture
19:00it is the kingdom of darkness it is not
19:02the kingdom of light
19:04the kingdom of light is a kingdom of
19:06empowerment
19:07it's a kingdom of wisdom is a kingdom of
19:09strategy
19:10it's a kingdom of wealth it's a kingdom
19:12of empowerment the kingdom of darkness
19:15will hold you in ignorance to be
19:18in the dark is to be ignorant
19:21concerning something and my concern is
19:24this
19:25that today we have so many people that
19:27are educated
19:28but they are non-thinkers again we think
19:31that we're thinking but we're just
19:33moving around
19:34our ignorance we're rearranging our
19:36ignorance to fit
19:38some propaganda or to to to fit
19:41something that um is being used to
19:44control us
19:46and there's so much so much conspiracy
19:48theory that is running around
19:50this weekend someone said send something
19:53to me
19:53that was supposed to be from someone
19:56that was
19:56in authority and i ripped straight
19:59through
20:00their um thesis their thesis was built
20:04on fallacy and
20:06you know everyone was afraid and this is
20:08an authority an authority on what
20:11and i began to realize how important
20:13this message is
20:14because we have lost our ability to
20:17think
20:18critically we have not only lost our
20:20ability to
20:22think critically and let me backtrack
20:24for a moment what do you mean
20:25well a critical think thinker is not
20:28going to take anything
20:30at face value they're going to raise
20:32questions
20:33and this is why i love the teachings of
20:36the parables
20:38because the parables were structured in
20:41such a way
20:42that it didn't give you answers it built
20:45capacity
20:46in your thinking process so that you can
20:49ask
20:49questions the parables were ponderables
20:53it was something that was meant for you
20:55to walk away
20:57ask questions and ponder on it
21:00and the thing about the living in the
21:03kingdom is this
21:04that we are encouraged to ask questions
21:09and asking questions helps uh
21:12us to be restored in uh god's
21:16original way or restore it back
21:19to god's original way of of crea
21:23of uh or original original
21:26um idea
21:30to create man as thinking beings so
21:33we're restored
21:34back to a mindset and a psychology
21:37that we are not victims of circumstances
21:41life is not happening to any of us we
21:43are happening to life as a man
21:46think it in his heart so is he
21:49so uh if i were to observe the average
21:52person's life
21:53i could basically tell you what they're
21:55thinking
21:56because everything that we think
21:59eventually manifests in our lives
22:02but no one wants to take responsibility
22:04so we blame it on the devil we blame it
22:06on our ex-wife
22:07we blame it on government we blame it on
22:09our boss
22:10it's this whole big blame game going on
22:13because people quite frankly are afraid
22:16to think
22:17for themselves the thing about slavery
22:21is not the physical bondage
22:24the travesty about slavery is the mental
22:28bondage
22:29you see you could throw a man in prison
22:32and he still be free
22:33why because he's free in his mind
22:36and that is a nelson mandela
22:40story 27 years in prison
22:44and he decided that he was going to come
22:46out release everyone
22:49and forgive everyone that had had ever
22:53uh released propaganda about him that he
22:56was
22:56uh he was a terrorist
23:00and everything else they said about him
23:02and he came out
23:03and forgave them and the rest is history
23:06the same
23:06culture that oppressed him he eventually
23:09shifted that culture
23:10because he became the first man of color
23:14to be the president of south africa and
23:16it's
23:17interesting because when we when we
23:19think about the mind
23:21we don't think about how powerful the
23:23mind is
23:24your mind is not your brain we have this
23:27saying mind over matter
23:29and that means that you don't have to
23:33be an individual
23:36that knee jerks at life you can be a
23:39vict
23:40victor you don't have to be a victim you
23:43can live the life of your dreams
23:45because every single day you get a
23:48chance to choose what you think on
23:51again as a man as a woman thinketh in
23:53her heart so
23:54is he or she the bible says in first
23:57corinthians 2 16
23:59for who have the mind of the lord that
24:02he may instruct him
24:04but we have the mind of christ one
24:06scripture says let this mind be in you
24:08which is also in christ jesus
24:10we have the mind of christ and so how do
24:13we
24:13set this up today how do we communicate
24:17to you
24:17that these parables are important for
24:20you to understand
24:22because each parable gives you
24:25a crash course in the art of thinking
24:29because if you can think you can think
24:32your way out of anything
24:33and into anything as long as you have
24:36control of your thoughts
24:38nothing externally will control you the
24:42government
24:42can't the economy can't that means
24:46that you consent to participate
24:50or you can decide not to participate
24:53i remember a couple of weeks ago
24:56we had the gas shortage and everyone was
24:59running around
25:00and i was saying to my husband listen we
25:03always have gas shortages
25:05shortest shortages and i don't care
25:08why they say there's a gas shortage uh
25:12they need to get uh spending so they're
25:15gonna get you spending
25:16it's a part of propaganda isn't it to
25:19create
25:20a feeling that there's a lack so that
25:23everyone can rush
25:25and buy it's a pr part of propaganda
25:28and then a couple of days later all of a
25:30sudden
25:31we have all the gas available i remember
25:35with the economic
25:36downturn in 2008 where the bubble busted
25:40and everybody was running around and
25:42they were afraid
25:44and i decided not to participate
25:47and that is because i have the ability
25:49to think
25:50for my self so in any kind of
25:53conversation
25:55you don't have to be controlled by
25:58someone's opinion
25:59and it's a problem that we're having
26:01today because of social media
26:03people sit on other people's timeline
26:05they sit on social media
26:07trying to figure out what people think
26:09about them but what do you think about
26:11yourself
26:12what people feel about them what what do
26:14you feel about yourself
26:16one of jesus christ's go-to
26:20teaching tools was parables one of the
26:23things that james
26:24l fowler said he called them
26:27uh pictorial ponderables
26:30and i was pondering on pictorial
26:32ponderos
26:34and i understood what it meant you do
26:36not
26:37think in words most people think that
26:39they think in words
26:40but they don't think in words you don't
26:41think in words
26:43you think in images and then if you want
26:46to communicate
26:48your thoughts you try to communicate it
26:51with words
26:53and this is why word smithing is
26:54important this is why you have to
26:56understand
26:57what advertisers are doing and marketing
27:00our marketers are doing what they're
27:03doing is they want to paint a
27:05picture in your mind especially when it
27:08comes to
27:09uh spending they want to paint a picture
27:11in your mind
27:12so that that image that comes up
27:16is attached to a the driving force the
27:20psychology of you but
27:21you're buying and that picture comes up
27:24so that you can see yourself
27:26living in it you could see yourself
27:28driving it
27:29you could see yourself wearing it you
27:31could see yourself
27:32running in it and it's all based on
27:35words
27:36now if i communicate with you there are
27:39pictures that go
27:39are going on in my mind images that are
27:42going on in my mind
27:43and what i do is use the secondary
27:46conduit and that is words and so if i'm
27:50using
27:51the this conduit now i've got to paint a
27:54picture in your mind
27:56and so this is why stories a picture is
27:59worth a thousand words
28:00this is why we are storytellers and
28:03jesus
28:04was a master at storytelling
28:07because they were designed to give
28:09deeper understanding
28:11to those that were hearing and listening
28:14of what this
28:14kingdom was all about what the benefits
28:17of the kingdom was
28:18how to understand the kingdom and quite
28:21frankly
28:22it is still a mystery today the average
28:25person of you i
28:25asked them what is the kingdom of heaven
28:28they're going to give you
28:29i don't know what they're going to give
28:31you but oftentimes people
28:32hear it they they speak it but they
28:36don't have
28:36an understanding of it because if your
28:38concept is wrong
28:40your conclusion is going to be wrong
28:42whenever he taught he talked with
28:43authority he
28:45proclaimed the truth and he just wanted
28:48his disciples and the people that were
28:49listening
28:50to really get it and so all of the
28:53parables that he spoke it
28:54they're diverse um but they were
28:57formulated to give
28:59a clear definition of each of the
29:02parables which were sometimes very
29:04complex
29:06and very difficult now jesus used the
29:09arist
29:10aristolean and the um socratic
29:14method of teaching and the
29:17socratic method of teaching is a
29:19brilliant way
29:20of of building intellectual muscles
29:24in in his teachers and what he would do
29:27he would pose different kinds of
29:31scenarios
29:32and then ask them uh
29:36to uh come to a conclusion
29:40and uh he would present it in such a way
29:43this is the teachings of socrates
29:45he would present it in such a way that
29:48they left with more questions than
29:50answers and as long as people are giving
29:54you
29:54all the answers you will never
29:58become an intellect you will never
30:00understand how to think for yourself
30:04and why is this important it is
30:06important
30:07because the educational system the
30:10current
30:10educational system has done a disservice
30:14to humanity it doesn't matter whether
30:17you have a ba
30:18a masters a phd or
30:22you're a dropout if you have been
30:24through
30:25the typical educational institution
30:28which is
30:28all of us all of us have been through
30:30the educational institution
30:33all of us have been taught what to
30:37think but not how to think
30:41and hearing that lies the problem
30:44because if you are in an environment
30:47that makes you
30:48think it's easy to be frustrated because
30:51we
30:52we are trained to have other people
30:55thinking for us
30:56and if you're in an environment that
30:58demands that you think
31:00it can be the most frustrating thing
31:02when you want
31:03people to tell you what to think it
31:05could be frustrating
31:07but when jesus taught the parables he
31:10wasn't teaching them
31:11what to think he was teaching them how
31:14to think
31:16and so in the simplest understanding
31:20that i received as i begin to study the
31:23importance of the parables
31:24parables are the usage of metaphors
31:28and similes that are drawn from nature
31:31from everyday common life uh that
31:34arrests
31:34the intellect of the hera
31:38because it's such a strange parallel
31:42here you're teaching about the kingdom
31:44and then you throw in
31:46an example about a woman making bread
31:50or you're teaching about the kingdom and
31:52you're talking about
31:53seed in the ground or you're teaching
31:56about the kingdom
31:57and you're you throw in an example or a
32:00parable
32:01about someone fishing and what does
32:03fishing have to do with the kingdom
32:04and what does uh making bread have to do
32:07with the kingdom and
32:08what does uh seed have to do with the
32:11kingdom and
32:12all this agrarian uh parables the
32:15parable of the wheat and the tears and
32:18the parable of a light under the bushel
32:21and the
32:21parable of the man who gave money to
32:25people and
32:26all of these parables can you just tell
32:29us and the answer is no why because if
32:32someone thinks
32:33for you they insult your intelligence
32:36and the moment your intelligence is
32:38insulted
32:39the moment they strip you of the thing
32:42that makes you
32:42like god and that's your ability not to
32:45think outside of the box
32:47the ability to create a box so that you
32:50bring to the table
32:52problem solving strategies
32:55so he wanted them to be problem solvers
32:58not just preachers not just people that
33:00hung out in the temple
33:02he wanted them to go into all the world
33:05and preach the gospel
33:06again the gospel is not just jesus saved
33:10the gospel is a message that gives
33:12meaning and hope
33:13dignity and purpose to all humanity and
33:16i believe
33:17that every one of us could use an extra
33:20dose
33:20of meaning an extra dose a purpose an
33:23extra dose
33:24of dignity we can all use an extra dose
33:27of it
33:27because if you have that you will live
33:30in the realm
33:31of abundance you will know no lack
33:34and if you can understand this if i if
33:37you don't understand
33:38anything else that i'm saying as i lay
33:40the foundation to teach about
33:42the parables to teach about the parables
33:45it means that you have the ability to
33:47move into new realms
33:49of greatness that this could technically
33:52be the ending of you living in obscurity
33:56and the back in the back in the dark in
33:59the corner in the booth
34:01you can come out you can come out strong
34:04and you
34:05can influence change within your family
34:07within your community within your
34:09industry wherever you are
34:11you can be an influencer and you know i
34:15i think of all the people that lived as
34:17individuals but
34:18died as an institution i think a prada
34:21gucci all of these uh individuals that
34:24that made the world
34:25a different place and a better place and
34:28they lived as
34:29individuals but they died as
34:31institutions and i believe that
34:33that's what god wants for you he wants
34:36you yes
34:37live as an individual but another
34:39generation should know that you lived
34:41history should not be allowed
34:45to uh uh erase you
34:49out of the annals of time
34:52where greatness and great acts were
34:55recorded
34:56by man who had the uncommon ability
35:00to think differently and so these
35:04parables were spoken firstly
35:06why parables firstly i believe it was a
35:09tool that jesus used to take
35:11people into a place within themselves
35:15that they could not go by themselves and
35:17i'm gonna say it again
35:20when jesus spoke the parables
35:23it gave the holy spirit an opportunity
35:27to be a tour guide not for them to tour
35:30the landscape
35:31outside of them but to to to
35:35tour the landscape inside of them why is
35:37it important
35:38it is important to understand this
35:40because the kingdom of heaven
35:42is not outside of you the kingdom of
35:45heaven
35:46is within you it is a way of life it is
35:49a paradigm
35:50it's the way that you it's your motives
35:52operandi
35:53it's inside of you so when he spoke the
35:56parables
35:58it gave god it gave the holy spirit
36:02to become a tour guide to
36:05to take them within themselves
36:10to a place where they could not go by
36:14themselves
36:15so let me break it down even further why
36:18would jesus preach the peril why
36:20would he teach the parable why is it
36:24important for all believers to
36:26understand
36:27the importance of the parable the
36:29parables once you read them
36:32allows the holy spirit to take you
36:36into a place within yourself
36:39that you cannot go by yourself
36:41philippians 2 and 5 says let this mind
36:43be in you
36:44which is also in christ jesus so jesus
36:47preached the message of the kingdom
36:49and he preached it in such a way that it
36:51assisted
36:52in helping the hearers to understand
36:56the complexity of who they were
36:59as kingdom citizens solomon says
37:02something he said i saw something
37:03incredible
37:05he said i saw princes walking and i saw
37:08servants riding on horses and this is
37:10what's happening there is something
37:12in you that is telling you every single
37:15day
37:15that you're bigger you're better you
37:17deserve to have more
37:18and you feel it sometimes you're afraid
37:21to speak
37:22it but when a person treats you
37:25in a way that is incongruent with how
37:28you feel about yourself
37:30you become offended and instead of
37:32allowing that
37:33negative energy to to um
37:37roll in your body and in your mind and
37:40turn it into
37:41bitterness people get offended and if
37:43the offense
37:44is not um it is not dealt with it turns
37:48into bitterness
37:49and bitterness turns into arthritis is
37:52one of the
37:52contributing factors of on of of
37:54arthritis
37:56and um it's it's it's not the
37:59it's not the uh medical but
38:02it is an emotional contributing factor
38:05and
38:06a lot of people end up offended and
38:09and without the strategy for dealing
38:12with the offense
38:14so i i want to teach you something and
38:16this mindset
38:18if you would just take the offense which
38:20is just a feeling
38:22and the reason why the average person
38:25never succeeds
38:26is because every decision that they make
38:28is driven by
38:29feelings it's driven by emotions
38:34a crash course in thinking
38:37thinking has nothing to do with your
38:39emotions
38:40and as long as you are allowing uh your
38:43emotions to dictate
38:46to a decision that you're making you
38:48will always be a victim of circumstance
38:50you will have no control over your life
38:53if you want to take
38:54the person of your personal power back
38:56you need to you need to learn how to
38:58manage your emotions feel your emotions
39:00that's fine
39:01but never do anything with your emotions
39:04is like
39:05uh dating to me how many of you have
39:08ever been medly in love and then you
39:10ended up marrying this person that you
39:12were
39:13madly in love with and after a couple of
39:15weeks or a
39:16couple of months they got on your last
39:18nerve and you asked this question
39:20what was i thinking well well maybe you
39:23weren't
39:24maybe it was just emotions there's a
39:27song that says
39:28it's just my emotions slipping away from
39:31me
39:32if you don't want to uh
39:36go through life responding from a
39:40primal state write this down
39:43god wants to take you from primal to
39:46powerful
39:48he is not giving you power
39:52just so that you can feel the power
39:56he's giving you power over your emotions
39:58power to create
39:59wealth he's giving you power over the
40:02enemy
40:03he's giving you power and you can live
40:06in a state of power power for the rest
40:09of your life as
40:10long as you understand that if you
40:12respond
40:13from your primal state you are going to
40:15always be controlled
40:17by external um forces of control
40:20and people when you see something
40:24how do you how do you think about an
40:25offense how do you think about offense
40:27firstly
40:27you recognize that when you feel
40:30offended
40:31it's attached to your core values
40:34so what you need to do is to go all the
40:36way back
40:37scale back think about your core values
40:41and rather than being offended by
40:44something that a person did or didn't do
40:46or being offended by something that a
40:48person said or didn't say
40:50rather than be offended i i what i want
40:53you to do is go all the way back
40:56and what you do is values clarification
40:59it was your responsibility to
41:02clearly communicate your values
41:06nobody around you should have to play a
41:09guessing game
41:11so as long as you understand this
41:14that you are not a victim of
41:15circumstances stuff is not happening to
41:17you
41:18and the reason why there are adversities
41:21and problems there are
41:23um disappointments it has nothing to do
41:27with the emotions what god is doing
41:31is allowing you to go in
41:34to yourself and allow the holy spirit
41:38to take you in to yourself and places
41:42in yourself that you do not have the
41:45ability
41:46to go by yourself and i'm hoping that
41:48you get this
41:50so the next time someone hurts you the
41:52next
41:53time someone rejects you the next time
41:56someone betrays you the next time
41:59someone lies
42:00on you what i want you to do is take a
42:02deep breath i want you to
42:04stop you
42:07are no longer going to be controlled by
42:10your emotions
42:12your emotions is an internal thing
42:16i can't feel them for you but a lot of
42:18times
42:19they are processed through what i call
42:22the
42:23fatal flaw of humanity and the fatal
42:26flaw happened in the garden of eden
42:29when adam gave his power away to satan
42:33and he lost his ability to think
42:38he lost his ability to think and when
42:40you look at that story
42:42you see this big blame gate game
42:45well adam why did you because the woman
42:48and all of us are guilty of projecting
42:52we project our uh
42:56our maladaptive sets
42:59of behavioral behavior and responses
43:02we project that onto others
43:07and i i i've seen it so many times where
43:11people don't want to take 100
43:13responsibility because i i've been
43:16in um settings where someone makes a
43:20joke
43:20and everybody's laughing and one person
43:22is offended
43:24and i thought the other day why would
43:26they be offended
43:27everybody else is laughing it is because
43:30of what's going on
43:32on the inside of them the bible says
43:34that it's
43:35not what comes into a man
43:38it's what goes out of a man it's the
43:42state of a person's
43:43heart and so if we
43:46begin to deal with our thought life and
43:49and our mindset
43:50and begin to understand that every
43:52single day
43:53things occur to us because they first
43:57flow
43:57through us and then they come to us
44:01as a man thinketh in his heart so if you
44:04run around and think that everybody
44:06doesn't like you and everybody's not
44:07going to like
44:08you guess what that's your perception of
44:10it but if you can
44:11just if you can just harness your
44:13thought life
44:15and understand how much of your creative
44:18genius is going to waste and your
44:20intelligence is going to
44:22wait waste because you become an
44:25emotional mess
44:26everything that happens to you you are
44:29trying to interpret it through your
44:31emotions
44:32well i feel well feelings come and go
44:35i didn't feel like getting up this
44:38morning
44:38because i was i stayed up late last
44:41night but that was a decision that i
44:43made and did i get up
44:46absolutely why because i'm not subject
44:50to be controlled by my feelings
44:53i have to think through things i have to
44:56process things
44:57at a higher level so many people think
45:00that they're thinking
45:01but unfortunately they are merely
45:04rearranging their ignorance and i want
45:06you to write that down
45:07we are told that we must think outside
45:10of the box and again
45:11as long as you're thinking outside of
45:13the box and the box in this
45:15in this in this series is culture then
45:18culture always becomes your reference
45:20point
45:20but if we can get you to think outside
45:24of the kingdom or use the kingdom
45:26as a reference point if we can get you
45:28to pivot in this season if we can get
45:30you to change the way that you
45:32think you will begin to see some amazing
45:35things happening in your life when adam
45:37fell
45:38the first man he didn't lose his ability
45:40to think
45:43what he lost was his ability to think
45:45like god
45:47he lost his ability to think
45:50about the opportunities and to
45:54think differently about opportunities
45:57he lost his ability to think differently
46:00about failure
46:01most people if they fail they consider
46:03themselves a failure
46:04but that's not your identity and what
46:07god is doing is restoring
46:09our ability to think so that you think
46:11about opportunities differently
46:13you think about failure differently you
46:15think about betrayal differently
46:17you think about the kingdom differently
46:19success
46:20prosperity mentorship purpose legacy all
46:24those things
46:25you want to think differently and that's
46:27what understanding the kingdom is going
46:29to do for you
46:30you're going to think about god
46:31differently you're going to think about
46:33salvation
46:34your worship you're going to think about
46:36your disappointments
46:37everything you're going to think
46:39differently because
46:40perspective is everything and when you
46:43understand that every every everything
46:46in life
46:46all of our life experiences is about
46:49perspective
46:50is your perspective if you put 10 people
46:53in a room
46:54everyone's going to have a different
46:56perspective so it is with the kingdom
46:59what what what god wants to do
47:02is to use these parables so that the
47:06holy spirit
47:07you allow the holy spirit to take you
47:10into a place in yourself that you cannot
47:14go
47:14by yourself this is what the parable is
47:17all about
47:18the parables is not for you to just run
47:21around
47:21as a theologian and teach it if
47:25if you have not allowed those parables
47:27to sink
47:28in to your subconscious mind to create a
47:31paradigm shift
47:32to remove limitations that are
47:35self-imposed or culturally imposed
47:38to enlarge your territory to help you to
47:41think bigger
47:42you have missed the purpose for teaching
47:45the parables perspectives are everything
47:48and i'm going to say it again i'm going
47:50to keep hammering it the
47:52parables were taught so that it would
47:56give
47:56god and the holy spirit an opportunity
48:00to become your tour guide so that
48:03they can take you in to
48:06yourself to a place where you cannot go
48:10by your self he's your creator
48:14and if culture has molded
48:17your mindset that means that you're not
48:20thinking like yourself god is going to
48:24take you
48:25to dimensions in yourself that you
48:27cannot go by yourself
48:29he's going to take you into dimensions
48:32in yourself
48:33that you cannot go by yourself how do i
48:36know it
48:37i know it because the average person
48:40thinks more about what other people are
48:42thinking and what government is doing
48:44and
48:45who's doing what and propaganda and this
48:48is what
48:48they talk about 24 7
48:52and when it comes down to asking people
48:55well what do you think about
48:56they're going to quote something that
48:58someone else is
49:00has thought and when i think about it
49:03i think about jabez jabez
49:06was rejected by his mother and his
49:09community
49:10and neither his family or community
49:13imagine him
49:14doing anything else but being a pain in
49:17the butt because that's what his name
49:19means the one that brings
49:21pain can you imagine people calling your
49:24name
49:25and they don't expect anything from you
49:29and somewhere in his prayer
49:32god took him in himself
49:36to a place that he could not go by
49:39himself
49:40and he prays this prayer in enlarge my
49:43territory
49:44give me the the ability to think bigger
49:48because we rise to the level of people's
49:51expectations
49:53and a lot of times if you're rising to
49:55people's expectations
49:57it's it's with frustration and if people
50:00are able to see potential in you that
50:04you cannot see
50:05your in yourself and when they put you
50:08in an
50:08environment and then they set the um
50:12measuring rod not to the level of your
50:15performance
50:17but to the level of your potential many
50:20of us have never had the opportunity
50:22because most people don't expect much
50:25from you and this is why you have
50:26supervisors
50:28when you go on a job and they give you a
50:30supervisor is because they
50:32already are saying to you i cannot trust
50:34you
50:35but if you are in a position where
50:38people are saying go for it
50:40here are the goals i know you have it in
50:42you and
50:43that frustrates you you
50:47know something is wrong you know
50:50that you are being controlled by the
50:52prevailing culture
50:54that accepts mediocrity
50:57as a performance level
51:00but if you can ever understand that
51:02living in this kingdom
51:04is about excellence and that if someone
51:07is raising the bar
51:09they're raising the bar because they
51:11believe in you
51:12when i think of god using parables
51:16to take us into a place
51:19in ourselves that we cannot go by
51:22ourselves i think of jacob
51:25jacob was a brilliant man he was
51:29he he was he was uh he was honorable
51:32he was a man of integrity but check this
51:35out his twin brother was jealous
51:37his trim brother encouraged people
51:41and convinced people that his brother
51:44was this manipulator
51:45but god saw something different god said
51:50uh esau have i hated jacob have a do i
51:53love in other words i prefer him why
51:56because man look on the outward
51:57appearance but god looks at the heart
52:00have you ever been in a place where
52:01people misunderstood
52:04you and where they called you one thing
52:06but you know you weren't that thing
52:08have you ever been to that place i say
52:11look
52:12don't argue with them that's their
52:14opinion of you
52:15what do you feel about yourself
52:18the parables are taught to take you
52:22into a place within yourself that you
52:25cannot go
52:26by yourself jacob had to wrestle the
52:28bible said that he wrestled
52:30with this angel and when he came out
52:33he came out with this angel actually
52:37introduced israel to
52:40jacob and said jacob this is who you
52:42really are
52:43you have rave you have risen to the
52:46standard you have been hitting your head
52:48on this invisible lid
52:52and people don't expect you to perform
52:56at any other level
52:57and it's like even if you tried to tell
53:00them well that's not me nobody believed
53:02because your brother has done a good job
53:05implanting negativity
53:07in the hearts of people that you're
53:08working with so that everywhere you go
53:11this bad reputation is following you and
53:13you know that that's not you
53:15and you're proven to your uncle listen
53:18uh you know i'm gonna prove to you that
53:20i'm this good person
53:21he had to prove to his father he's a
53:23good person everywhere he went
53:25and finally the holy spirit took him to
53:28a place
53:29in himself that he couldn't go by
53:32himself
53:32and when he came out he went in as jacob
53:35but he came out as
53:36israel and so this is the intent of the
53:39parables
53:40i could think about jabez i could think
53:42about jacob
53:43i could think how god changed sarai's
53:46name to sarah
53:48abram's name to abraham gideon was a
53:51general
53:51but he was hiding um within the culture
53:56and it was a culture of oppression and
53:58he was just getting by
54:01and he had this encounter and god took
54:04him
54:04into himself into a place that he
54:07couldn't go by himself
54:09and after god got through with him he
54:11was a general
54:12i could think about esther i could think
54:14about moses i could think about
54:16gideon i could think about jephthah jeff
54:19just
54:20ended up in gang banging because his
54:23brothers
54:24his half-brothers hated him i could
54:26think about
54:27david where he's this um
54:31child from an extramarital
54:34one-night stand and the mother says i
54:37don't want you
54:38so the father took him home and when he
54:40took him home
54:41for the rest of his life all of his
54:43brothers reminded him
54:45that you are half brother and i want to
54:48use a word but i'm not going to
54:49use the word but he lived with that
54:53until one day god introduced him to
54:56himself
54:57anointed him and caused a
55:00goliath this this um
55:04uh giant caused this
55:08terrorist attack to show up just
55:11when he was in service and he was the
55:14only one
55:16that can solve the nation's terrorist
55:18attack why
55:20because he was called to be the
55:23king and this was an introduce
55:26introduction
55:27to his destiny a lot of times we're
55:29given opportunities to solve
55:31problems within the workplace to solve
55:34problems within our family and we end up
55:36being bitter we end up being
55:38you know we say dumb stuff like i'm
55:39getting paid for this
55:41but a lot of times what god is using
55:43these situations and circumstances
55:46disasters rejection all of that
55:49to take you to a place in yourself that
55:50you cannot go by yourself
55:52and so the parables
55:56were meant to expose the strongholds
56:00the faulty belief systems the
56:02self-imposed or the
56:04culturally imposed limitations
56:07and lids the defense mechanisms
56:10that prohibits us from becoming
56:13everything
56:14we have the potential of being and i'm
56:17hoping that you get that
56:19it's not about the betrayal of joseph
56:24but who he became as a result he was
56:26able to say look
56:29that betrayal took me to a place in
56:32myself that i could not go by myself
56:37and god used it as a refining process
56:40because it was never about his brothers
56:43it was about joseph it was about his
56:46destiny
56:47stop making everything about everybody
56:50else stop looking at what's wrong and
56:53what they said and
56:54what they how they hurt you stop
56:58if you are going to be great in this
57:00kingdom
57:02firstly you got to understand what comes
57:04to you
57:06first comes through you what comes
57:09to you first flows through you
57:12as a man thinketh in his hearts
57:16so is he thoughts of things
57:20and if you could just change your
57:22thoughts
57:23all this stuff that is going on outside
57:26of you
57:27is going to be altered this is an
57:30inside job stop blaming the whole world
57:35for something that you brought to the
57:37table
57:38i can go on and on but let me bring this
57:42to an end
57:44the first adam foul
57:47and when he fell he did not fall
57:51from a natural realm he fell from a
57:54spiritual realm
57:56where he is thinking he was thinking
57:58from this superior
58:00paradigm it was a paradigm of dominion
58:03it was a paradigm of creativity it was a
58:06paradigm of
58:07innovation and when he found
58:11he found and it caused the fatal
58:14flaw to happen
58:17to all humanity not just to some
58:21all humanity and so we've been thinking
58:24from an inferior
58:25level ever since then it doesn't matter
58:27how many degrees you have it's the fatal
58:29flaw
58:31and we're sinned at the bound grace
58:34that's much more bound
58:36adam did this took humanity into a
58:39different
58:39operating way of operating shifted uh
58:42humanity's operating system
58:44that was the first atom but when the
58:47second adam
58:48came he came to reset
58:51humanity's operating system at the
58:55level of thinking so the first atom fell
58:58and began to think from this inferior
59:00paradigm
59:02but through the paradox parabolic
59:04teaching
59:05the second adam gives us a hard
59:08reset gives us the ability to pivot
59:12gives the ability us the ability to have
59:14this paradigm shift
59:16to think differently to think from a
59:19superior realm
59:20of domin dominion that gives us critical
59:23thinking
59:24that gives us the ability to tap into
59:26listen to this
59:27the faculties of innovation and this is
59:31so
59:31important i call this revelation
59:35of elevation when adam found
59:38he lost touch with with
59:42everything that made him powerful
59:45he lost touch with his psychological
59:48congruency
59:49he had no congruency whatsoever
59:52he began to reject the monster that he
59:55thought was without
59:56outside of him but it was actually
59:58inside of him
1:00:00he made a decision and he blamed it on
1:00:02his wife
1:00:03number two he he lost touch with his
1:00:07individuation or his individuality
1:00:10he became enmashed in other people's
1:00:12opinion and other people's thoughts and
1:00:14other people's feelings
1:00:15he lost touch with his uniqueness he
1:00:18lost
1:00:18touch with his identity he lost touch
1:00:22with social healthiness he lost touch
1:00:25with physical and spiritual and economic
1:00:28and financial
1:00:29wholeness he lost touch with his
1:00:32intellectual capacity he lost
1:00:34touch with the ability to tap into the
1:00:37mind of god it was
1:00:38god that said i know the thoughts i
1:00:40think towards you thoughts of good
1:00:42good not of and not thoughts of good
1:00:45not of evil to bring you to the expected
1:00:48and he lost
1:00:49touch with the innovative uh
1:00:52cutting edge thinking that was made
1:00:55available
1:00:56he lost touch with his divine genius
1:00:59what he didn't know
1:01:00he had instant connection with the mind
1:01:03of
1:01:04with the mind of god who gave him
1:01:06downloads with
1:01:07witty inventions and with creative ideas
1:01:11and
1:01:11he lost touch with his spiritual
1:01:14connectivity
1:01:15and this is what happened why does jesus
1:01:19teach in parables he teaches in parables
1:01:23because it puts us back in touch with
1:01:26our humanity
1:01:27the more human you are the more
1:01:29intelligent you
1:01:30are the more human you are the more
1:01:33powerful you are
1:01:34what is man that thou art mindful of him
1:01:36the son of man that thou shalt visit
1:01:38him you made him a little lower than
1:01:39angels not a little lower than
1:01:42animals god does not use an orangutan or
1:01:45a monkey to compare you with
1:01:47he uses angels and if you then be risen
1:01:50with christ
1:01:51you've got to be able to seek those
1:01:52things which are above
1:01:54and seek those things which are not
1:01:56beneath
1:01:58he wants to put you back in touch with
1:02:01who you
1:02:01really are let's pray our father
1:02:05god even as we begin uh our teaching
1:02:08on the parables of christ i pray
1:02:11that you would bless us that you would
1:02:14anoint us
1:02:15that you would give us the ability to
1:02:16really think
1:02:18not to be controlled by propaganda not
1:02:21to be controlled by
1:02:22lies or deceit not to be controlled
1:02:26and by other people's opinion of you but
1:02:28truly
1:02:29we would have the mind of christ so that
1:02:32we
1:02:32can have the restoration of our thinking
1:02:35now
1:02:36unto him who is able to do the exceeding
1:02:38abundantly above all we can ask or think
1:02:40it's according to the power that works
1:02:42in us amen
