The $10K/Month Plan — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00If I was starting from zero, and I had
- 0:02to get to $10,000 a month in the next 90
- 0:03days, gun to my head,
- 0:05I'd take the first 80 days off because
- 0:07this plan's so good, I could do it in a
- 0:09week and still have time at the end for
- 0:10a cheeky long weekend. In the last 2
- 0:12years, I've helped 623 people get to a
- 0:14six-figures, $10,000 a month
- 0:16inside 90 days. I helped 52 people get
- 0:19there in 3 days flat. In this video, I'm
- 0:21going to give you the exact three-step
- 0:22plan that I gave to them so that you can
- 0:24hit $10,000 a month and hold it
- 0:25consistently. Now, but I can't just tell
- 0:28you the plan cuz you'll forget. We need
- 0:29to write it down, lock it in together.
- 0:31Come. All right, so we're going to make
- 0:32a plan. First thing we need is a really
- 0:34clear
- 0:35goal. So, the goal is to get you to
- 0:3910K a month consistently. That makes you
- 0:42a six-
- 0:43figure
- 0:45coach. Every new coach I've talked to
- 0:47has the same first goal.
- 0:50If I could make this my full-time thing,
- 0:51if I could take the financial pressure
- 0:52off, if I could turn this into a thing
- 0:53where I get to like actually help people
- 0:54and get paid for it, that'd be awesome.
- 0:56The truth is that most coaches don't
- 0:58make it before they get to six figures.
- 1:00Most coaches go broke,
- 1:02give up, and have to go back and get a
- 1:04job. This is a really sad metaphor, but
- 1:05I'm I'm going to say it uh because A,
- 1:07it's true, and B, it'll show you why I'm
- 1:09making this video for for you right now.
- 1:12Most coaches are like baby turtles that
- 1:14hatch out of an egg
- 1:16on the beach. I don't know if you've
- 1:18ever seen that on a nature documentary,
- 1:19but like a mother turtle will come and
- 1:21lay like 300 eggs.
- 1:24And one day, all of a sudden, when the
- 1:25moon's just right, the baby turtles
- 1:27hatch out of there, and they break out
- 1:28of their shell, they dig their way up
- 1:30to go off and live their best lives. Or
- 1:32so they thought. Here's what actually
- 1:34happens. They get to the top. Guess
- 1:35who's waiting? Seagulls.
- 1:39So, from 300 It's It's brutal, dude.
- 1:42It's like the D-Day landing.
- 1:44Seagulls pick off a bunch. Maybe a crab
- 1:46or two. They get into the water.
- 1:48Boom, they get eaten by fish. Little
- 1:50fish, then bigger fish. Out of a
- 1:52thousand baby turtles, one grows up to
- 1:54be an adult turtle. That's what happens
- 1:56to coaches. It's really freaking sad.
- 1:59I'm so sick of seeing new coaches
- 2:02start full of high hopes and just
- 2:03getting crushed by bad advice, by people
- 2:06telling them they need to do all of
- 2:06these things, trying to sell them some
- 2:08freaking course that doesn't even work.
- 2:11And they don't make it.
- 2:12And so this video, if you're a baby
- 2:13turtle, this video is for you. Drop me a
- 2:15um
- 2:16Is there a turtle emoji? If there is,
- 2:18drop it in the comments. Let me know you
- 2:19saw this vid. There's three things which
- 2:21stop new coaches getting to $10,000 a
- 2:23month. The first is a biggie.
- 2:25Their messaging is unclear.
- 2:30And so when they talk to someone about
- 2:32what they do,
- 2:33they don't really get it, or they get it
- 2:35and they just don't want it. As a
- 2:36result, you get overlooked.
- 2:41Number two.
- 2:42The market you're playing in right now
- 2:44is super competitive and you're against
- 2:46up against like you're a baby turtle,
- 2:47you're up against the big fish, the
- 2:49sharks. Bigger budgets, more experience,
- 2:52better on camera.
- 2:53And because of that, your marketing gets
- 2:55ignored and you end up invisible. And
- 2:57third, you're underpaid because your
- 2:58sales process is clunky
- 3:01and kind of awkward because selling
- 3:02yourself
- 3:03is hard, especially when you're a bit
- 3:04low on confidence. So if you've been
- 3:05feeling overlooked, maybe invisible, or
- 3:07underpaid, now we know why. The message
- 3:09isn't clear enough, the marketing's
- 3:10getting ignored, and sales is feeling
- 3:12clunky and awkward. And the hardest part
- 3:14about this as a baby turtle is you're
- 3:15brand new. Your confidence is at its
- 3:17lowest. Your audience is at smallest.
- 3:18Your budget is the smallest it's ever
- 3:19going to be.
- 3:21And meanwhile, you're getting circled by
- 3:22sharks. People giving you
- 3:24bad advice to sell a course.
- 3:27Telling you you got to be on every
- 3:27platform all the time. If you listen to
- 3:29the advice, you're supposed to set up
- 3:30these complicated funnels, spend a bunch
- 3:32of money that you don't have on ads,
- 3:33post on every platform all the time,
- 3:36charge high ticket, and become some kind
- 3:38of high ticket closer. When really you
- 3:39got into this thing to help people and
- 3:40make some good money.
- 3:42Each of these people gives you
- 3:43a piece, but what you need is the whole
- 3:45system. I was working three or four
- 3:47part-time jobs just to make ends meet,
- 3:49making about $60,000 a year. But if you
- 3:51take out tax,
- 3:53and then our son Zachary was a dancer,
- 3:54so we put him in a performing arts high
- 3:55school. It was 20 grand a year. So, 60
- 3:58minus tax minus 20 leaves like, I don't
- 4:00know, 15 grand a year for a family of
- 4:02five.
- 4:04It was rough.
- 4:06But, one night I I have
- 4:07caught up with my mate Sam, one of my
- 4:08best mates. He's like, "How you going?"
- 4:10And I was like happy-go-lucky and I was
- 4:12like, "Man, it's really stressful. Like,
- 4:15I don't have money. I'm supposed to go
- 4:16to Woolworths, the supermarket on the
- 4:18way home and get groceries at home. I
- 4:19don't have cash." He lent me 200
- 4:21dollars.
- 4:22So, go to the supermarket.
- 4:24I said thanks, obviously.
- 4:25Go to the supermarket, get home.
- 4:27Um key in the door, open the door and
- 4:29Kiera Marie, my wife's there waiting for
- 4:31me and she's got this big like expectant
- 4:33look on her face. She goes, "Babe, I've
- 4:35got some news." I'm like, "Oh, I love
- 4:36news." She goes, "You might want to sit
- 4:38down." My brain's like,
- 4:40I don't like sit down news. Like, can we
- 4:42be honest? Sit down news is never never
- 4:44good news.
- 4:45So, sit down on the edge of the bed and
- 4:46I'm holding her hand and I'm looking up
- 4:47at her face and she says, "Hon, I'm I'm
- 4:50pregnant."
- 4:52And we had this amazing moment. Like, I
- 4:53give her a hug. I'm like, "Oh, babe,
- 4:54that's incredible." Yeah, like so
- 4:56excited, da da da. She walks out of the
- 4:57house out of the room.
- 4:59I close the door
- 5:01and my world just collapsed. I was like,
- 5:03"Fuck."
- 5:04Like, we're on the on the knife's edge
- 5:07right now.
- 5:08We are screwed if we I don't turn this
- 5:10around. I was like, "If I can't get to
- 5:1110,000 dollars a month by the time this
- 5:12baby's born, we are
- 5:15we are [ __ ] with a capital F." I'm
- 5:17sorry to swear.
- 5:18I was a
- 5:20panicked.
- 5:21The next 2 weeks I was in a complete
- 5:23spin. Literally, I had to go out for a
- 5:25walk and pace just to like try to clear
- 5:26my head and it didn't really work. I
- 5:28didn't know any of what I know right
- 5:29now. All I had was like
- 5:31angst
- 5:33and a deadline. And so, I hustled. I did
- 5:35what I could. I talked to people, da da
- 5:36da.
- 5:37I sweated ball bearings for
- 5:40for 9 months.
- 5:41And at the end of that period, just
- 5:43before the baby was born, sure enough,
- 5:45we squeaked in.
- 5:47And it saved my ass.
- 5:49Think about it now, I had a
- 5:51a deadline baby.
- 5:53Like a ticking clock.
- 5:55You don't need a deadline baby, you just
- 5:57need a deadline, baby. Here's the good
- 5:59news.
- 6:00I worked my butt off with no plan and
- 6:01frantically I like somehow made it, but
- 6:04we've got a plan now. So I want to show
- 6:06you the plan. So if there are three core
- 6:08problems, there are three simple
- 6:10solutions. And that's our goal. So let
- 6:12me show you the three milestones on our
- 6:13journey. We're going to do them in this
- 6:15order. The order's really important. And
- 6:17then I'll show you the tactical how-tos.
- 6:18The first thing, if we're overlooked cuz
- 6:20our message is unclear, the first thing
- 6:21we need is what I call a perfect offer.
- 6:29We're going to help. How does it work?
- 6:32How do we package it so that when we
- 6:33talk about it, it's clear and
- 6:34compelling, they get it, and they
- 6:35actually want it. When we've got a
- 6:36clear, compelling offer that we can talk
- 6:38about, and people get it, instead of
- 6:39being overlooked, we become valuable
- 6:44to the market. And marketing's
- 6:45[clears throat] been getting ignored,
- 6:46and so we're kind of invisible.
- 6:48Here's the good news, because of the
- 6:49changes in the algorithm,
- 6:51you don't need a big audience, you just
- 6:52need an active audience.
- 6:56We don't need a big ad budget or fancy
- 6:58cameras.
- 6:59One of my friends just got to
- 7:0150,000 followers just using his phone by
- 7:04posting a single video every day. I'll
- 7:05show you exactly how to do that. We just
- 7:07need a small audience that's engaged and
- 7:10growing. In the old days, honestly, a
- 7:12big audience was a massive advantage.
- 7:13Now, it's not a social graph anymore. It
- 7:14doesn't matter how many followers you've
- 7:15got. It matters what the content is.
- 7:17It's an interest graph. The algorithms
- 7:19are built to show useful stuff to
- 7:21exactly the right people. Like one of my
- 7:22clients, Brandon,
- 7:23just started a brand new YouTube channel
- 7:253 days ago, posted his very first video.
- 7:27It's just useful. It's not sexy.
- 7:30It's had 15,000
- 7:33views
- 7:34from zero in 3 days with an audience of
- 7:36nobody. Just a small number of the right
- 7:38people who engage, and that audience
- 7:39will grow and turn into sales. When
- 7:41you've got an active audience, you go
- 7:42from ignored and invisible
- 7:44to attractive
- 7:47and visible.
- 7:49Our goal isn't viral.
- 7:51I'm just going to show you how to
- 7:53build great content that gets you found.
- 7:54So, we've covered product and messaging
- 7:56a little bit, the marketing side, and on
- 7:58the sales side of things, instead of
- 7:59being
- 8:00clunky and awkward,
- 8:02we don't need to turn you into a
- 8:03high-ticket closer. Anyone who's telling
- 8:04you like, we need to charge
- 8:06premium prices and turn you into some
- 8:09kind of like sales wizard, that's
- 8:11[ __ ] You don't need to get better
- 8:12at sales. You just need to become more
- 8:13viable. And so, instead of awkward
- 8:15sales, we just want a simple process
- 8:19that lets you share your offer with the
- 8:21right people
- 8:23and have them
- 8:25sign up.
- 8:27It could be a natural conversation. I'll
- 8:29show you how to do that. Or, the offer
- 8:31just laid out in a simple
- 8:32one-or-two-page document that they can
- 8:33read and say, "I'm in." So, in the rest
- 8:35of this video,
- 8:36I'm going to show you how to get
- 8:37valuable
- 8:38with the perfect offer. I'm going to
- 8:40show you how to get visible with an
- 8:41active audience and how to get viable
- 8:43with a simple sales process. So, let's
- 8:44get to it. Let's start right here. Our
- 8:47first milestone is, how do we turn an
- 8:48unclear message into a perfect offer?
- 8:51There are three steps. We're going to
- 8:52bank through them right now together.
- 8:55Step number one, very first thing we
- 8:56need to know is like, if you're going to
- 8:57be a coach
- 8:59who's successful, you've got to be
- 9:00successful to somebody specific.
- 9:03The first step is to nail your niche and
- 9:06figure out who's my person.
- 9:12You've heard about niche before. I'm
- 9:13sure you've heard about avatar. Do not
- 9:15skip this step
- 9:16and do not leave this video. Because, if
- 9:18you get this wrong,
- 9:19everything else is hard, right? The
- 9:21mistake that every coach makes,
- 9:23especially in the beginning, is trying
- 9:24to go broad because they're worried that
- 9:25if I niche down too tight,
- 9:27I miss out on opportunity. I want you to
- 9:29think about it like this.
- 9:30We're about to go fishing with our
- 9:31marketing with one of those nets. And
- 9:34what most people do is they try to cast
- 9:35their net really, really broad to catch
- 9:36as many fish as they can. But think
- 9:38about it. The
- 9:41the net you've got, if you spread it
- 9:42super broad,
- 9:44yes, it spreads more territory, but what
- 9:45happens to the size of the holes? The
- 9:47holes get bigger and the fish you want
- 9:49swim through.
- 9:52There's a great book called um coach
- 9:53anyone about anything. It's a great
- 9:55title. It's got mad skills. I'm sure
- 9:57you've got the kind of skills that could
- 9:57help you coach anyone about everything.
- 9:59But just because you can,
- 10:01doesn't mean you should. Please, for
- 10:03love of the holy, instead of trying to
- 10:04coach everyone about everything, coach
- 10:06one person about one thing. We're going
- 10:07to figure out who our perfect person is,
- 10:09what their core problem is,
- 10:11what the result is that they want, in
- 10:13other words, a problem and a promise,
- 10:15and then what's our process to get
- 10:16there.
- 10:17When you can articulate that, the right
- 10:19people will tune you in and the wrong
- 10:20people will just walk on by. Save you
- 10:22both a bunch of hassle. So, how do we
- 10:24pick? Well, the right market for you has
- 10:26three things going for them.
- 10:28You like them.
- 10:29That's important cuz you're going to be
- 10:30doing this work for a while. Number two,
- 10:31you can actually
- 10:33help them.
- 10:34And number three,
- 10:36they'll happily pay. I've met so many
- 10:37coaches, especially ones who are new and
- 10:39a bit lower on confidence, who work with
- 10:40people that they love, who they can
- 10:41really help, who don't got the moneys.
- 10:44Get the moneys. There's a whole process
- 10:46for picking the right person. For now,
- 10:48let me address the biggest fear. What if
- 10:49I picked the wrong one?
- 10:51You don't have to get married right
- 10:52away. We're just going to date it for
- 10:53the next 90 days.
- 10:55One of my friends, Randall, had this
- 10:56dating rule. Anytime he met a new girl,
- 10:58this is going back a while, but anytime
- 10:59he met a new girl,
- 11:01he would spend up to $500 on a
- 11:03relationship before he had to call it.
- 11:04This is a future or a doesn't. Randall's
- 11:07$500 rule, our 90-day rule, it's a good
- 11:10rule. Once we know who we're helping,
- 11:12what their problem and promise is, then
- 11:14we need to design a program that helps
- 11:16us deliver that. So, step number two in
- 11:18our process is to unpack
- 11:23your model. Honestly, the Magic Model is
- 11:25a bit of a Swiss Army knife. We use it
- 11:26in marketing, in sales, and in delivery.
- 11:29But for now, let's Let's about it from a
- 11:30delivery lens. Designing a coaching
- 11:31program that actually gets results is
- 11:33really good in a bunch of ways. Number
- 11:34one, it gets them real results,
- 11:36fantastic. Number two, it gives you a
- 11:37ton of confidence that you can actually
- 11:39deliver the goods and do it in a way
- 11:40that doesn't bog you down.
- 11:41To build out a magic model, we really
- 11:43need a few core pieces. Number one,
- 11:45what's the dream come true? That was
- 11:46what I drew in yellow. Number two, what
- 11:48are the obstacles? They're in red.
- 11:49Number three, what are the milestones?
- 11:50In green. And And finally, what's your
- 11:53plan, your pathway to get them there?
- 11:56These are the missions. Now, delivering
- 11:58a program becomes easy because all
- 11:59you're going to do is take people from
- 12:00reds to greens by using these blues.
- 12:02Marketing and sales gets super simple
- 12:04because again, your job is really clear.
- 12:06The only things you talk about are
- 12:07things on this map, and you can talk
- 12:08about those things forever. So, we know
- 12:10our person, now we've got a plan. The
- 12:12next thing we need to do is package it
- 12:14into an offer that will sell. Step
- 12:15three,
- 12:18craft
- 12:20your offer. And the tool we use to do
- 12:22this
- 12:23is called the offer diamond. Every great
- 12:25offer has five core components that we
- 12:27can use to make it more attractive and
- 12:29easy to sell. The offer has got two
- 12:30jobs. The first
- 12:33is clarity.
- 12:37In other words, when you explain it to
- 12:38them,
- 12:39do they get it
- 12:44or not?
- 12:47And second,
- 12:49desirability.
- 12:56A lot of new coaches, when they talk
- 12:57about what they do, people just don't
- 12:58get it.
- 12:59And then sometimes
- 13:01they get it, but instead of being uh
- 13:03hot,
- 13:06it's not.
- 13:08Remember, our job isn't to be great at
- 13:10sales, it's to be easy to buy.
- 13:12We've got to get your offer into this
- 13:14zone up here. Whenever someone's looking
- 13:15at your offer,
- 13:17they're really balancing two sides of
- 13:18the equation. The risk, man, what if
- 13:20this all goes bad and I just lose my
- 13:22money and waste a bunch of time? And the
- 13:23reward, what could be great? And so, in
- 13:24our offer, we need to balance both of
- 13:26those things. We need to do it using
- 13:30an offer diamond.
- 13:36On this side,
- 13:37reward, maximize the desirability. And
- 13:40in this side, removing the risk, so it's
- 13:43easy to say yes to it. Let me give you
- 13:45a quick run through. Your offer needs a
- 13:47really clear, compelling promise that
- 13:49they can point to, "Oh, if I do this,
- 13:51I'll get that." Like that uh energy
- 13:53drink in America called 5-hour Energy,
- 13:55okay? Whether it's Whether it's good or
- 13:56bad, we both know it's bad, but it's got
- 13:57a really clear promise. Uh next,
- 13:59bonuses. If I do it now,
- 14:01what are you going to give me that'll
- 14:02help make it faster, easier, and get me
- 14:04better results? And on the red side, the
- 14:05away from side, we need to make sure we
- 14:09we need to remove the risk
- 14:14with a guarantee. And then a payment
- 14:16plan
- 14:19that makes it easy for them to get
- 14:20started. If we balance these two things
- 14:21out, like we shrink the risk and we up
- 14:23the the reward, then we've just got
- 14:25people on the fence, and our job is made
- 14:28easier when we add some
- 14:32urgency, because you're starting a a
- 14:34cohort at this particular time, and some
- 14:36scarcity,
- 14:39because there's only a limited number of
- 14:40spots. Let me be really clear, I'm not
- 14:42saying fake urgency or fake scarcity,
- 14:43I'm saying real urgency and real
- 14:45scarcity. You've actually got scarcity
- 14:47built in, even if you've got zero
- 14:48clients right now. Could you look after
- 14:5042,000 clients tomorrow morning? No,
- 14:53you'd die. So, there's a number
- 14:54somewhere between zero and 42,000 is an
- 14:57actual number, and it's probably like
- 15:00five. Maybe it's 10, right? But it's
- 15:03small. We're going to pick a small
- 15:04number for our first pilot program.
- 15:07And we're going to start on a set date,
- 15:08so there's urgency, a reason to do it
- 15:09right now. Once we've got a great offer,
- 15:11we're going to dial it into
- 15:14a really simple
- 15:16two-page document that we call an offer
- 15:18doc.
- 15:19And it's a simple description of how the
- 15:21thing works, who it's for, all of the
- 15:22key components so that somebody could
- 15:23read it and say yes without having to
- 15:25talk to you. You can sell just with a
- 15:27doc if you want to. We do. But if it's a
- 15:29brand new offer or you're looking for
- 15:31your first five clients, I highly
- 15:32recommend that we do this doc for you,
- 15:34sell it in conversations on calls
- 15:36because then you'll learn your market,
- 15:37what they really need, you can change
- 15:38the offer, and then you can pour
- 15:39everything you've learned into a doc and
- 15:41sell without calls from then on. So
- 15:42we've got three steps. Your person, your
- 15:44plan, and the packaging. And if you want
- 15:46to get to $10,000 a month, these are
- 15:48your first three steps. You can do them
- 15:49in a day, you can do them in a week, you
- 15:50can take a month.
- 15:52But regardless, these are the first
- 15:53three steps. Once we've got this dialed,
- 15:55then we get into marketing and it'll
- 15:56actually work because we know what we're
- 15:57talking about. I just realized we were
- 15:58talking about pay plan. We haven't had
- 16:00the how much do I charge conversation.
- 16:01Let's do that right now.
- 16:03The truth is that there's two competing
- 16:05forces against you. There's a bunch of
- 16:06like high-ticket bros telling you you
- 16:08need to charge 10 grand cuz you're worth
- 16:09it and crush deals on sales calls. And
- 16:11then there's
- 16:12your scaredy-cat little voice in your
- 16:13head going, "But I'm new. I'm not big
- 16:15enough to charge big money. I haven't I
- 16:17get it." They want you to overcharge cuz
- 16:19you frankly are not worth it yet.
- 16:21Probably. And the little voice in you
- 16:22wants you to undercharge. And the truth
- 16:24is that you're too small to be cheap. We
- 16:26should think about like a a little
- 16:27spectrum here. Up the top is
- 16:30how much you charge and down the bottom
- 16:31is how many people you need to get to
- 16:33your 10 grand a month, that's for the
- 16:34100 grand a year. What are the options?
- 16:36Well, we could charge a dollar
- 16:38or $10 or $100
- 16:41or $1,000
- 16:43or 10k
- 16:45or 100k. Can I just be super honest?
- 16:48You're not worth 100k yet. If you were,
- 16:50you'd only need one client, which would
- 16:51be sweet. Uh if we charge 10 grand, we'd
- 16:53only need 10 clients.
- 16:55A thousand bucks,
- 16:57we need 100 clients. 100 bucks, we need
- 16:591,000 clients.
- 17:0110,000 clients,
- 17:03100,000 clients.
- 17:06Well, here's what I know for sure. We
- 17:08can't do that cuz you're not worth it.
- 17:10I mean,
- 17:11as a human you're worth it, but in the
- 17:12marketplace yet.
- 17:14Uh and you don't have an audience big
- 17:15enough to make 100,000 sales of anything
- 17:18or 10,000 sales of anything
- 17:20or 1,000 sales of anything. Our sweet
- 17:22spot is going to be
- 17:24in here somewhere. I reckon the magic
- 17:26price point for someone getting started
- 17:27is between two
- 17:29and 5K. You're going to go, "I'll take
- 17:31two." No, no, no. Hear me out.
- 17:34At a 3K price point, we need what? Three
- 17:36or four sales a month
- 17:39to get to
- 17:4110K a month. And if we do the offer work
- 17:43right,
- 17:44people will look at your price point,
- 17:46like three grand,
- 17:48and it's a no-brainer because we've
- 17:50designed it to get them an actual
- 17:51outcome. So, they're the three steps.
- 17:53Pick your person,
- 17:54map out the plan,
- 17:56package up the offer.
- 17:57When you do that,
- 17:59this system works no matter what the
- 18:00niche is. I've had health coaches,
- 18:02I've had business coaches, I've had
- 18:04people who sell money, people who sell
- 18:06emotional clearing.
- 18:08I had a handstand coach once who sold an
- 18:10$8,000 how to do a handstand program.
- 18:13They can do that. You're going to be
- 18:14just fine. And it even works in boring
- 18:15markets. We had this client, Josh.
- 18:17Sorry, Josh, it's kind of boring.
- 18:19He coaches
- 18:21engineers. You know, people with pocket
- 18:22protector protector protectors.
- 18:24Engineering consultants.
- 18:26They're a very left-brain, logical,
- 18:27analytical market. And when he first
- 18:28started, he was low on confidence and
- 18:29they were high on
- 18:31intellectual rigor. It was really hard
- 18:33for him to get people to say yes.
- 18:35So, what did we do?
- 18:36We figured out what segment of the
- 18:38market made the most sense for him to
- 18:39target. Not just horizontally, it's
- 18:41going to be engineering consultants, but
- 18:42like vertically.
- 18:44Were they bleeding, slipping, stable, or
- 18:45leading? We picked a market.
- 18:47We figured out what they really needed
- 18:48and designed a perfect program for them.
- 18:51And then dialed in the offer so that it
- 18:53was easy for them to to go, "Oh, that's
- 18:55for me. It'll get me where I want. I can
- 18:57see the plan. I'm happy to pay." That's
- 18:59Josh. That was a few years ago.
- 19:01Josh hasn't changed his program
- 19:03yet. He's still using the same magic
- 19:04model.
- 19:05The offer has upgraded a bit cuz his
- 19:06confidence and results have up- upgraded
- 19:09his price.
- 19:10Josh is on track to do 2 million bucks
- 19:12this year. And it all started with
- 19:14nailing his niche, a package model,
- 19:16and crafting an offer. When you do those
- 19:18three things, you go from overlooked to
- 19:20being seen as valuable. So, now we've
- 19:21got a killer offer. We just need to get
- 19:22it in front of people. We need to get
- 19:23the right people to care. Like I said
- 19:25before, you don't need a massive
- 19:26audience,
- 19:27but you do need an active audience. A
- 19:29small group of people who are on target,
- 19:30who you're after, and are engaged with
- 19:32your stuff. If anyone tells you that the
- 19:33very first place to start for your
- 19:35marketing is with ads, walk. No amount
- 19:37of ad spend is going to cover bad
- 19:39content. So, the very first step is we
- 19:41need to
- 19:46The very first step is we need to learn
- 19:47how to craft compelling messages on
- 19:49social media.
- 19:50Most people will tell you you need to be
- 19:51everywhere.
- 19:52You look at all the gurus, they're
- 19:53posting on 17 different platforms 142
- 19:56times a day.
- 19:57We're not going to do that. So, there's
- 19:58a bunch of pressure for you to be
- 19:59everywhere, and you don't have to be.
- 20:01When you get started, the goal is really
- 20:02simple. Your content strategy is going
- 20:03to evolve as your business grows,
- 20:06but if we go like phase one is um
- 20:10all the way to 30k a month.
- 20:12Uh phase two takes us to like
- 20:15100k a month. And phase three is after
- 20:17that. Clearly, we're in
- 20:19phase one. Phase one
- 20:23is about volume. We're going to start
- 20:24with short-form
- 20:30content. We're not going to do long-form
- 20:32stuff. We're going to start with
- 20:33short-form. There's nothing wrong with
- 20:34YouTube or any long long-form platforms,
- 20:36but short-form's got a bunch of
- 20:37advantages, and the most important one,
- 20:39if I'm a new coach, is that I can post
- 20:41one thing every day
- 20:43and learn from it. I'm going to post it,
- 20:45I'm going to see what happens, and I'll
- 20:47learn a lesson, and I'm going to make
- 20:47the next one better. If you post a
- 20:49YouTube video once a week like I do, I
- 20:50only get like one chance to improve per
- 20:52week.
- 20:53But when you're getting started, we want
- 20:54to iterate. Cuz our job is to do
- 20:57short-form content at volume, and we're
- 20:59going to iterate. Because as we iterate
- 21:01each day, we're going to learn three
- 21:02things. We're going to learn to sharpen
- 21:04our message.
- 21:07We're going to learn
- 21:09the content game.
- 21:12And most important, you're going to find
- 21:14your voice. And we want this process to
- 21:16be quick and iterative, so we start [ __ ]
- 21:18and we get better fast. I could tell you
- 21:20about what comes next,
- 21:22but you're not ready for it yet. And I'm
- 21:23your coach, so I'm not. Okay, so we've
- 21:25agreed we're going to do short-form
- 21:25content. What platform do we pick? And
- 21:27are we going to do videos or or write or
- 21:29what?
- 21:31Short answer is, out of all the
- 21:32platforms, Instagram, Facebook,
- 21:34LinkedIn,
- 21:36X, TikTok,
- 21:39etc.
- 21:41You could be on any of them. Your
- 21:42prospects are probably on all of them.
- 21:45The one you should pick is the one that
- 21:46you're a native to. The one that you
- 21:47naturally go to cuz then you kind of
- 21:48understand it better.
- 21:50The only other thing I'd say is,
- 21:53you know,
- 21:55you either like to talk
- 21:57or you prefer to write,
- 21:58and we'll lean into your preferences.
- 22:00I've got clients who crush on each of
- 22:02these platforms doing each of these
- 22:03things. Pick the one that's most you.
- 22:06We're not going to do long-form, we're
- 22:07going to do short-form. For me, I've
- 22:08gone, "You know what? I'm going to do
- 22:09Instagram and I'm going to talk because
- 22:10it's easy for me. We'll find yours
- 22:12together." So, what do you talk about?
- 22:13You talk about stuff from your magic
- 22:15model.
- 22:17How do you say it? Every banger piece of
- 22:18content is built exactly the same way. A
- 22:20hook,
- 22:22to grab their attention, a build, story,
- 22:23list, or steps, a payoff, like what's
- 22:25the key insight or takeaway, uh-huh, and
- 22:27then an invitation.
- 22:29We use these banger cards, pocket
- 22:30bangers, to sketch them out, but that's
- 22:32a topic for another conversation. So,
- 22:33now we're posting content that's
- 22:34starting to get the attention of the
- 22:35right people.
- 22:37The problem with organic content is kind
- 22:39of slow. Here's the problem.
- 22:40It feels like we've only got
- 22:43two choices. Either
- 22:45we post
- 22:48organic.
- 22:49Upside, it's free.
- 22:52And when you're little, we love free.
- 22:55Downside,
- 22:58it's a really slow burn. It takes ages
- 23:00to get traction.
- 23:01At the other end,
- 23:04we've got ads.
- 23:05Upside,
- 23:07we grow faster.
- 23:11Downside,
- 23:12if you don't know what you're doing,
- 23:14they're super expensive,
- 23:20which is risky. So, if I had a gun to my
- 23:21head and I needed to get to $10,000 a
- 23:23month fast,
- 23:25I would take the best of both worlds. I
- 23:28would create organic content and find a
- 23:29way to make it go faster without it um
- 23:32being slow and certainly without the
- 23:33risk of it, you know, wasting a bunch of
- 23:34money.
- 23:35The way we do that is by boosting
- 23:40content. In fact, our whole our whole
- 23:41strategy, we used to spend $60,000 a
- 23:43month on ads. Uh we don't anymore. On a
- 23:45big month, like a
- 23:47You don't have to spend this much. On a
- 23:48big month, we'd spend six. And all we do
- 23:50is we post organic content and then we
- 23:53boost it. So, we post content and we
- 23:54amplify it with ads so that it reaches
- 23:56more people. This is optional, but if
- 23:58you want to turbocharge it, we're
- 23:59looking at spending five to
- 24:01$30 a day.
- 24:03And it just speeds up the rate at which
- 24:05you get the audience you want, the sales
- 24:06you want, the money you're after. So, we
- 24:08just started to post on socials and
- 24:09iterate. The way we accelerate the
- 24:11journey
- 24:12is by boosting it. Okay? Our job is to
- 24:15boost
- 24:17our audience. It just speeds the thing
- 24:18up. So, we've got great content and it's
- 24:20starting to connect with people. The
- 24:21audience is small, but it's growing. If
- 24:23you don't have this next piece, we're
- 24:24going to end up the same as all the
- 24:25influencers, like looking famous, but
- 24:28kind of broke.
- 24:29What we need is a bridge between our
- 24:31content and our offer. And the way we do
- 24:33that is to get people to raise
- 24:36their hands. Let me give you a crash
- 24:38course. It's the bridge between your
- 24:39content on socials
- 24:41and sales in conversations. The easiest
- 24:44way to get somebody to raise their hand
- 24:45is to make a low-risk
- 24:48information offer. In fact, a funnel is
- 24:49nothing but a series of easy yeses. So,
- 24:51we make the yes easy enough and
- 24:53desirable enough, you'll crush. The way
- 24:55we do that is with
- 24:57a micro magnet.
- 25:03You probably heard of lead magnets
- 25:04before. You know, where we give away
- 25:06useful information. Information's okay,
- 25:08but no one's on social media looking to
- 25:10learn stuff. It feels like work,
- 25:11especially nowadays. So, instead of
- 25:13giving them an information magnet, what
- 25:14we want to do is give them a tool. A
- 25:16tool that gives them quick relief and an
- 25:17instant result in 2 minutes or less
- 25:19without really trying. That stuff is hot
- 25:21right now. So, there are three steps.
- 25:24Number one, identify
- 25:26a splinter, a small
- 25:29painful problem that fits somewhere on
- 25:31your magic model. Step two, offer them a
- 25:33micro band, a little tool that will fix
- 25:35it
- 25:37in 2 minutes
- 25:39without really trying. There's a bunch
- 25:41of different formats for these. We've
- 25:42got uh GPTs and stuff that get the job
- 25:44done.
- 25:45But, we identify a problem, we offer to
- 25:47solve it for them, and then when they
- 25:48get it, they get a quick result and a
- 25:50quick win, and they're like, "This guy's
- 25:51good. This guy's great."
- 25:52And then it invites people to take the
- 25:54next step.
- 25:57The next easy yes towards working with
- 25:58you. What's the next step you could
- 25:59invite them to? Well, it's the next step
- 26:00in your process, which could be "Do you
- 26:02want to chat about it?"
- 26:04Could be "Let's have a call."
- 26:07Or could be
- 26:08"I'm starting a new pilot program. This
- 26:10is the one that we're going to use
- 26:11together if we did this journey. I'm
- 26:13starting a new pilot program to help a
- 26:14bunch of people like you get results
- 26:15like this in the next short period of
- 26:17time for 2 to 5K like we talked about
- 26:19it.
- 26:20Would you like to join us?" And that's
- 26:21just called the invitation.
- 26:25If I was getting started, that's where
- 26:26I'm going, but you do you. We started
- 26:28this section with a really valuable
- 26:30offer.
- 26:31We knew who it was for, how it helped
- 26:32them.
- 26:33We packaged it up nice, and now we've
- 26:35got their attention.
- 26:37We're posting on socials. We're posting
- 26:38bangers with hooks, builds, and payoffs,
- 26:41and invitations. We've boosted it, so
- 26:43we're speeding up the rate at which
- 26:44people discover us. Our audience is
- 26:46growing, and now we're getting them to
- 26:47raise their hands. We need to
- 26:49We need to get the moneys. These skills
- 26:51sound really simple, but they can take
- 26:52you all the way.
- 26:54Remember a few years ago
- 26:56I was working with a brand new coach.
- 26:59She was super passionate about what she
- 27:00did.
- 27:01Incredible personality.
- 27:03Low end skills.
- 27:05No audience.
- 27:06No cash. Her coaching business was about
- 27:08a year old. She made $63 all year. Well,
- 27:13guess what we did? Pick the niche,
- 27:14design the model, crafted a great offer,
- 27:18got her posting on socials, getting
- 27:20people to raise their hand. Those skills
- 27:21have taken her all the way.
- 27:23Took her from $63 to her first $10,000 a
- 27:26month.
- 27:28Hit that 3 months in a row. Joined us in
- 27:29Black Dot. Black Dot got her to a
- 27:31million dollars a year. Awesome. She
- 27:32just ticked over $20 million made with
- 27:35those same simple skills. And if you
- 27:36look at what she's doing right now,
- 27:37she's
- 27:39crushing socials, making offers,
- 27:41boosting her audience, getting people to
- 27:42raise their hand and buy her stuff. It
- 27:43starts small and it gets big real fast.
- 27:46Shout out Maria. So, we've got you
- 27:47valuable.
- 27:48Now you're visible.
- 27:50Let's get you buyable. So, once they
- 27:51raise their hand, we need to take them
- 27:53by the hand
- 27:54and invite them to work with you.
- 27:55There's three simple steps.
- 27:57Let's get you buyable. The very first
- 27:58part of this thing is So, we've got
- 28:00somebody to raise their hand. It's like
- 28:01they're ringing your phone or they text
- 28:03you.
- 28:04If you don't text back,
- 28:06it's kind of a douche move.
- 28:08And so, the next step is to do what
- 28:09comes naturally. When someone texts you,
- 28:11we text them back. So, if somebody's
- 28:13raised their hand saying, "Tell me more
- 28:14about this." Our job is to have a
- 28:16conversation.
- 28:20Conversions happen in conversations. And
- 28:21so, our job is to spark
- 28:24conversations. We're not just going to
- 28:25do chats. We're going to do sell by
- 28:27chat. We're not sliding into people's
- 28:28DMs all weird and creepy. We're just
- 28:30going to have a simple conversation to
- 28:31work out are we a fit or are we not?
- 28:35Those conversations have three simple
- 28:36steps.
- 28:41First, we're going to connect.
- 28:45They've reached out. We're going to
- 28:46connect with them. We're going to open,
- 28:47we're going to start a conversation, and
- 28:49our first job is just to get them to
- 28:50respond. Next,
- 28:52we're going to qualify.
- 28:58Our job is just to work out, are we a
- 29:00match, or are we not? There's three
- 29:01questions we ask which help us figure
- 29:03that out. And then if they are a match,
- 29:05then we get to invite.
- 29:09We either invite them to join our
- 29:11program, or we invite them to have a
- 29:12call,
- 29:13which is invite them to the next
- 29:16easy yes. Our job isn't to try to sell
- 29:18everybody. It's just to work out who are
- 29:19the people who are a great match for.
- 29:21We're looking for what my friend Dean
- 29:22Jackson calls five-star prospects. So
- 29:25imagine
- 29:26five stars.
- 29:30These are like little gates that we go,
- 29:32oh yeah, you passed test number one. We
- 29:33assume everyone's a five-star prospect
- 29:35unless they teach us different, but our
- 29:36first step is like, are they willing to
- 29:37engage
- 29:38in a dialogue?
- 29:40In other words, when you message them,
- 29:42are they happy to message back?
- 29:44Next, are they friendly
- 29:49and cooperative?
- 29:53You'll know pretty quickly if they're
- 29:55not. If they're not, move on. Next,
- 29:57plenty of fish in the sea. Next, do they
- 29:59know what they want?
- 30:02So we ask them, what's the best way to
- 30:03find out what they want? Well, ask them.
- 30:05Do they know when they want it?
- 30:07Because you you want to help people who
- 30:09want to do something about it right now.
- 30:09And then finally, would they like
- 30:12some help? How do we ask them if they
- 30:14want some help? And they say, would you
- 30:15like some help with that? And they'll
- 30:16say, sure, how does it work? You tell
- 30:18them.
- 30:19That's the process that we use as we go
- 30:21through this qualification piece. The
- 30:22job of these conversations is to treat
- 30:26every conversation with a prospect like
- 30:28an audition.
- 30:29Most coaches are terrified
- 30:31of getting rejected, and so they try to
- 30:33make their best impression. They like
- 30:34they tap dance and they jazz and they
- 30:36they jazz. They definitely jazz. They
- 30:38throw everything in the kitchen sink at
- 30:39the offer. They lower their prices. They
- 30:40like flex on terms, because they're
- 30:42trying to impress the potential client.
- 30:44It's like an audition on American Idol.
- 30:47And it is, but the truth is that instead
- 30:49of you being the one on stage, tap
- 30:50dancing and trying to impress the
- 30:51judges, you're Simon Cowell. You're the
- 30:54judge here.
- 30:56Not in a judgy way, just you don't have
- 30:58to go
- 30:59I've got the ticket to Hollywood.
- 31:00They've got a problem. They're going to
- 31:02tell me what's going on. And I I decide
- 31:03do I want to use my ticket on them
- 31:05or not. Everything changes
- 31:07when you take the
- 31:09desperation
- 31:11out of the sales process. Remember,
- 31:13uh our job is to work out are we a fit
- 31:15or are we not. We're here to audition
- 31:17them, not audition for them.
- 31:23This audition can happen
- 31:25in the chat conversations.
- 31:27If we're selling with calls, it's a
- 31:2910-minute
- 31:31call called the triage call.
- 31:33And then we go to the last step, which
- 31:34is where we
- 31:35make the offer. We invite people to join
- 31:37us. Remember, our job isn't to be better
- 31:38at sales. Our job is to be
- 31:40more viable.
- 31:41That conversation can happen you know,
- 31:43that last step can happen in a
- 31:45a one-on-one conversation. It's super
- 31:47natural and casual
- 31:49and real, or it can happen in an offer
- 31:52doc. Both of them work
- 31:54just great. If it's a brand new offer, I
- 31:56highly recommend you do calls first.
- 31:58You'll learn your market, you'll learn
- 31:59exactly their language, their
- 32:01frustrations, their hopes. That'll make
- 32:03help you feed that back into the offer
- 32:05and make it even better. Once we're done
- 32:06our first five,
- 32:07then we just send people the offer doc.
- 32:09They'll read it, 30% of them will say
- 32:11yes, and away we go. This is how we get
- 32:13happy clients
- 32:15paying you money.
- 32:19If sales have been awkward, the secret
- 32:20isn't getting better at sales. It's to
- 32:22become more viable. Yesterday, I caught
- 32:24up with a client.
- 32:25You're not meant to have favorites, but
- 32:26he's he's one of mine. His name is Jay.
- 32:28And uh when we met, he was a really
- 32:31burned out agency owner. He used to run
- 32:33Facebook ads for people. And um he'd had
- 32:36a false like one of the get from agency
- 32:38into coaching and started and had a
- 32:40false start. It didn't go really well.
- 32:41He was like,
- 32:42working really hard, it was a
- 32:43disorganized mess.
- 32:45And he joined us in this program called
- 32:45Clients, which is like, how do I get to
- 32:47$10,000 a month?
- 32:48And he did it. Got him to 20 or 30,000 a
- 32:51month and he joined Black Belt. In Black
- 32:53Belt, he scaled it up, hit a million
- 32:54dollars a year, now he does three
- 32:55million dollars a month, which is just a
- 32:56mental number. Put that out of your
- 32:57mind, that's not the point. The point is
- 32:58this,
- 32:59his whole process for getting from
- 33:02nothing to
- 33:03three million dollars a month
- 33:05was
- 33:07sell by chat. Simple concept.
- 33:09Content boosted, get people to raise
- 33:11their hands or follow,
- 33:13have chat conversations, get them on to
- 33:15a call, have them say yes. That's all he
- 33:17does. This is not just the foundations
- 33:19for how to get to $10,000 a month and
- 33:21keep it, but it's the foundations to go
- 33:23from Forgive that, we're going to roll
- 33:25back like 20 meters of tape.
- 33:27It's the process to going all the way
- 33:28back to
- 33:32the start
- 33:34of
- 33:35our
- 33:43conversation back here. Those steps
- 33:46are the not just the keys for getting
- 33:47out of survival into stability, but they
- 33:49lay the foundation for scaling it up
- 33:50from there. So, in the last couple of
- 33:51years, I've taken 623 people all the way
- 33:54through this process to $10,000 a month
- 33:55in 90 days or less. We've made some
- 33:57upgrades in the last 6 months because
- 33:58the world's changed. The algorithms are
- 34:01completely different how they were when
- 34:02I first built this. And I wanted to see
- 34:04[music]
- 34:04how quickly could we speed run someone
- 34:07through the process from like just
- 34:08getting started or I don't know what I'm
- 34:09doing or I don't have any clients yet to
- 34:1110 grand a month. Turns out, the answer
- 34:12is
- 34:13three days. And so, a few months ago, to
- 34:15pilot test the new model, I took a group
- 34:16of people through this live in a
- 34:18three-day online workshop. Literally, in
- 34:20three days. We moved fast. On day one,
- 34:22they went from I don't know who I'm
- 34:23talking to to I've got a niche and a
- 34:25magic model and an offer in a doc.
- 34:28It was killer.
- 34:29Day two, we designed the content and
- 34:31they started posting it. It started to
- 34:32get some engagement.
- 34:34The truth is even in the
- 34:35the tiny social audience you've got
- 34:37right now
- 34:38there's buyers cuz on day three
- 34:41it came time to like tie it together,
- 34:42actually get people to raise their hands
- 34:44and say yes. I got them to post
- 34:45something that we call the invitation.
- 34:46It's templated. But they post in the
- 34:48invitation live on their social channel
- 34:50of choice.
- 34:52Yeah, some of them was Facebook, others
- 34:53was Instagram, whatever. And they [ __ ]
- 34:54themselves. One of the things I told
- 34:55them right at the start was you're going
- 34:57to be scared, but that's not a reason to
- 34:58not do this. Courage isn't not being
- 35:00scared. Courage is doing it with brown
- 35:01pants. And so people are like, "Oh crap,
- 35:03I'm scared." I'm like, "Brown pants."
- 35:04And they're like, "All right." I put a a
- 35:063-minute timer on my little stopwatch
- 35:08thing here.
- 35:09I said like, "Post it right now. If you
- 35:11do, I'll be proud of you." And they're
- 35:12like, "All right." They posted the
- 35:13thing. And they're like, "Oh, I'm
- 35:14crapping myself right now." They
- 35:15literally shat themselves.
- 35:17I get it. Putting yourself out there is
- 35:18hard and scary. Anyway, so they did.
- 35:20All of a sudden people started to
- 35:22respond like, "Oh, I'd like to find out
- 35:24more about that. Oh, tell me more about
- 35:25that."
- 35:26Like give me the details.
- 35:28Within like 2 minutes
- 35:30and over the next couple of hours people
- 35:31started like
- 35:33leaning in. These people who thought
- 35:34they had no audience had some lurkers.
- 35:36So what do we do? Well, we took the
- 35:39we got them to raise their hand. And
- 35:40what do we send them? The offer doc from
- 35:41over here.
- 35:43I'm like, "Great. Once they've done
- 35:44that, send them this message and a link
- 35:47to your doc." And they did.
- 35:49And they shat themselves even more. But
- 35:50guess what happened?
- 35:52People started saying, "I'm in." And
- 35:54then we sent them the link to buy.
- 35:55And on that day
- 35:57in those 3 hours 53 people went from
- 35:59like I haven't sold anything on the
- 36:00internet ever to signing their first
- 36:02ever paid clients.
- 36:04And they did it with brown pants.
- 36:05And once they did it like they they
- 36:07didn't believe it. But once they'd done
- 36:08it
- 36:09they couldn't not believe it anymore cuz
- 36:10they just proved it. We did it in 3
- 36:12days.
- 36:13I'd probably recommend you take a little
- 36:14bit longer.
- 36:16You might do it in 3 days or 3 weeks or
- 36:18or maybe 3 months.
- 36:19But in 90 days time you can be at
- 36:21$10,000 a month consistently with zero
- 36:23questions. So now you've seen the plan.
- 36:25The next step is to do it. If you'd like
- 36:26to do it solo, go right ahead. If you
- 36:28want to do it with my help,
- 36:29there's a sneaky link in the description
- 36:31below about a special group that we're
- 36:33running to help people like you
- 36:35get to $10,000 a month
- 36:38in the next 90 days. So, click it, have
- 36:40a read. If it looks like you'd be super
- 36:41fun to work together,
- 36:42zero pressure either way.
- 36:45But, if you'd like to do it together, we
- 36:46could team up and make something magic
- 36:47happen. I got to run. I got to pack. Big
- 36:49love. Hope this has been helpful.
- 36:50Bye-bye.
