  2. 0:04trial where the prosecution was expected
  3. 0:07to wrap up their case today instead they
  4. 0:09continue to move forward and now they're
  5. 0:12expected to produce testimony about a
  6. 0:13September 2021 roadside shooting in
  7. 0:16which Murdoch admitted to hiring someone
  8. 0:18to kill him so his son Buster could
  9. 0:20collect life insurance money at first
  10. 0:23The Judd said he wouldn't allow that
  11. 0:24testimony but moments ago he changed his
  12. 0:27mind just before court adjourned for the
  13. 0:30day and we have Team coverage in
  14. 0:32colington County starting now with news
  15. 0:3419's Rachel Ripp who has more details on
  16. 0:37what happened in the courtroom today

  18. 0:43J.R Darcy only two witnesses took the
  19. 0:46stand today in court the first was sled
  20. 0:48lead investigator David Owen and the
  21. 0:51second was a little bit later in court
  22. 0:53it was David Grubbs and he is an expert
  23. 0:56in cell phone forensics
  24. 1:00now earlier this morning Owen testified
  25. 1:02that Alec had no trouble understanding
  26. 1:04Owen's questions and that he had timely
  27. 1:06answers and several of his interviews
  28. 1:08with sled the prosecution team then
  29. 1:10played a long video clip of Alex
  30. 1:12interview with sled on August 11 2021
  31. 1:15two months after the killings in that
  32. 1:18video interview Owen toad told Alec that
  33. 1:21family guns were used in the killings of
  34. 1:23Maggie and Paul Alec then went on to ask
  35. 1:26Owen if one two or even three people
  36. 1:28were responsible in cross-examination
  37. 1:31Griffin confirmed with Owen that the law
  38. 1:33firm Alec worked at offered a 100 000
  39. 1:36reward for tips with an expiration date
  40. 1:39later Griffin got Owen to say he
  41. 1:42misspoke in front of the Colleton County
  42. 1:44grand jury
  43. 1:46Tuesday November 16th 2021. all right
  44. 1:49and if you'll go to the page I had open
  45. 1:52and um
  46. 1:54and I'll tell you I'm gonna read the
  47. 1:55question if you'll read the response
  48. 1:58it says um

  51. 2:06like that and your answer was
  52. 2:09they were load they were located loaded
  53. 2:11in a similar fashion question in a
  54. 2:14similar fashion yes sir

  61. 2:32court wrapped up for the day he
  62. 2:35testified about uh Maggie and Paul's
  63. 2:38phone usage and their phone habits
