Tesla Quietly Launched an INSANE New Feature! — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00So Tesla just released what the internet
- 0:02is calling one of their best new
- 0:04features ever. It's not some kind of new
- 0:07CarPlay update. It's not ways on your
- 0:10Tesla or some new gaming thing, at least
- 0:12not yet. But this is all about a little
- 0:15thing called Grock and a new capability
- 0:19with something called Grock Bots. But
- 0:21before you click off this video, I
- 0:23promise you this isn't something
- 0:25technical. It's not just for the geeks.
- 0:28It's something that once you understand
- 0:30is a really cool new feature that can
- 0:32actually make you money and you don't
- 0:36have to do anything. One of those things
- 0:39that sounds way too good to be true, but
- 0:41it's legit and you can do it on your
- 0:44Tesla right now. And I think the best
- 0:46way I can describe this really easily is
- 0:49there are basically three different
- 0:51levels to Grock. Like imagine a picture
- 0:53of level one is Grock sitting outside
- 0:56your house. Level two is Grock going
- 0:59into your front door. And then level
- 1:01three is Grock inside your house, which
- 1:02again doesn't make any sense and is
- 1:05super random, but I promise I will
- 1:07explain it. So level one Grock is
- 1:09basically think of it like a voice
- 1:12assistant that has access to like Google
- 1:14search. If you've got questions during
- 1:17your drive, like how many um stars are
- 1:20in the sky or a random fact or things
- 1:23like that, it can basically be like your
- 1:26voice assistant for answering search
- 1:28questions. And then also now it's got
- 1:30the ability to control different aspects
- 1:32of your vehicle. Not everything because
- 1:35if I say
- 1:37open the trunk,
- 1:38>> I can't open the trunk from here.
- 1:41Um, which is a little confusing because
- 1:43the regular voice control panel, if I
- 1:45say, "Open the trunk,"
- 1:50it can do that. For example, one of the
- 1:52cool things that Grock can do is fire
- 1:54multiple commands at once. So, I can
- 1:55say, "Hey, Grock, turn on the seat
- 1:58heater for the driver's side and turn on
- 2:00the seat uh cooling for the passenger
- 2:02side."
- 2:03>> Driver seat heater is on high and
- 2:05passenger seat cooling is on high.
- 2:08Anything else you'd like adjusted? And
- 2:10this can work for the climate control.
- 2:12It can search for uh media and playback.
- 2:15It can do uh different effects. Uh it's
- 2:18not all-encompassing just yet. Uh but it
- 2:20is really nice for car control that you
- 2:22don't have to speak like a robot. Open
- 2:24trunk, open frunk. You can just
- 2:26naturally speak and Grock can do that
- 2:28for you. The other more interesting
- 2:30thing with Grock is that it actually can
- 2:32tie into your navigation data and then
- 2:34not just like navigate to places for
- 2:36you, but also it can set up like scenic
- 2:39routes. So I can say, "Hey Grock, I want
- 2:42to head to New York City. I'm going to
- 2:44be staying at the Plaza Hotel. Can you
- 2:46set up a scenic route for me so my
- 2:48supercharging stops are around
- 2:50interesting places with good food?"
- 2:53>> Your route is set. First stop is Jim
- 2:55Thorp, Pennsylvania, a gorgeous little
- 2:57mountain town with Victorian
- 2:59architecture and some excellent local
- 3:01eeries right near the Charger. Second
- 3:03stop is in the Suffren area just before
- 3:06you hit the Hudson Valley with solid
- 3:08food options nearby. Then it's a
- 3:10straight shot into Manhattan and the
- 3:12Plaza. Total trip is about 107 m
- 3:15arriving around 306 this afternoon. So
- 3:18again, it's little things like that
- 3:20which are really cool. And that level of
- 3:22intelligence and that usefulness of a
- 3:24voice assistant is very cool. And again,
- 3:27you can do like web searches. You you
- 3:30can like have Grock look up stuff for
- 3:31you. That is where Grock can be very
- 3:34cool. Level two is where things get more
- 3:37interesting. And that is one of the new
- 3:39features Tesla just announced because a
- 3:41couple of days ago Tesla announced that
- 3:43not only can Grock do more things in
- 3:45your vehicle, but now Grock has the
- 3:48ability to connect to what are called
- 3:50connectors. And connectors basically
- 3:52allow Grock to, again, to use my kind of
- 3:56rough illustration, walk through the
- 3:58front door of your home and start to
- 4:01grab some of your personal information.
- 4:03So there are a bunch of connectors, and
- 4:05I'll show some of the different ones on
- 4:06screen. Google calendar, Google Drive,
- 4:09Gmail, uh different applets online and
- 4:12web apps and services. Basically, you
- 4:15can connect Grock to these connectors.
- 4:17So then Grock can read your inbox. It
- 4:20can summarize documents for you. It can
- 4:22check your appointments on your
- 4:24calendar. And it can go from being just
- 4:26more of a generic helper in your vehicle
- 4:29to actually being your, you know,
- 4:31bespoke personal assistant that actually
- 4:33knows a thing or two about you. And
- 4:36because it's like a live connector, it's
- 4:38updating live and in real time all the
- 4:40time. Now, setting one of these up isn't
- 4:43hard to do, but you can't actually do it
- 4:45on the car. And again, this is one of
- 4:47those things that's a little rough
- 4:48around the edges where Tesla needs to be
- 4:50a little better with their marketing
- 4:51because it's really cool and powerful,
- 4:53but you have to know what to do. In this
- 4:55case, you want to go into the Gro app on
- 4:57your computer or on your phone. I'm
- 4:59going to go into the settings. I'm going
- 5:01to go down here to connectors. And then
- 5:04you can see I can connect it to my
- 5:05finances. I can go to Gmail, blah blah
- 5:07blah. So in this case, let me just go
- 5:09and connect it to Gmail and I'll sign
- 5:11in. And you can see here it says what it
- 5:13can do. Search your email. Uh what it's
- 5:15going to do, yada yada yada. I'm going
- 5:17to go and sign in and then show you what
- 5:19a connector looks like in the car. Even
- 5:21if we just kind of put that to the side
- 5:23and zoom out for a moment, it is amazing
- 5:26how rapidly evolving the world of AI is
- 5:29and how crazy this technology is getting
- 5:32and how powerful it is. And with like
- 5:33the latest GPT Astra doing so many
- 5:36incredible things that we never thought
- 5:39were even possible before, companies are
- 5:41obviously going to totally kind of
- 5:43rethink and reshape the way they do
- 5:46their work and how many roles they have
- 5:48and just business as we know it is going
- 5:50to change. Which is why if you don't
- 5:52know where to start, my friends over at
- 5:54Outskill are here to help with their
- 5:56GPT6 Astra crash course, a free live
- 5:59training event where you'll build your
- 6:01own Astro workflows during the session
- 6:04and learn the ins and outs of how all
- 6:06this stuff works. And there's a lot of
- 6:07stuff that makes this special and
- 6:09important, but one of them is that
- 6:10Outskill being an official OpenAI
- 6:12partner, they've had early and exclusive
- 6:15access to Astra. They've tested it to
- 6:17its limits. They know what works and
- 6:18what doesn't. So that way they can save
- 6:20you the time and hassle and trouble and
- 6:23just help you figure out the best way to
- 6:24maximize this. How to use less tokens,
- 6:27how to write prompts that actually get
- 6:29Astra to work the way you want to.
- 6:31Learning about job hunting and how Astra
- 6:33can find jobs that truly match for you
- 6:35and tailor your resume for each specific
- 6:37role. And again, though it is free for
- 6:39you guys, do know that seats are
- 6:41limited. So make sure you don't wait.
- 6:43There's going to be a QR code on screen
- 6:45and a link down below so you can get
- 6:46your spot reserved. So, go ahead, learn
- 6:49this stuff, get ahead of the curve, and
- 6:51learn how you can put all of this AI
- 6:53tech to work for you to make your life
- 6:55easier and uh learn all the ins and outs
- 6:58of Astra and how you can make it work
- 7:00for you. Again, happening this weekend.
- 7:02So, check it out and learn more and get
- 7:04your seat reserved at the link down
- 7:05below or again, scan that QR code right
- 7:07on screen. All right. So, let's pretend
- 7:10I'm driving down the road, yada yada
- 7:12yada, and I would say, "Hey, Grock,
- 7:14what's the latest uh email message I've
- 7:16got in my inbox?"
- 7:17>> Your latest inbox email is from the
- 7:19Publish Press. Subject: We've got some
- 7:22news sent today at 5:15 p.m. Want me to
- 7:25read the full message?
- 7:27>> No. So, it can see certain things, see
- 7:29your calendar, see your messages, and
- 7:31then you can ask it about it and have a
- 7:33conversation in the car, which is very
- 7:35cool. And by the way, um, two ways to
- 7:38trigger Grock. You can press and hold on
- 7:40the, uh, microphone button to trigger it
- 7:42that way. Or the much easier way is to
- 7:45go into the settings here on your
- 7:47vehicle, scroll down under media, and
- 7:49then turn on, let me go down a little
- 7:50bit more and pass it here, uh, the Hey
- 7:53Grock. And that basically makes it so
- 7:55you can say the magic wake organ and
- 7:57talk and not have to hold down um, the
- 7:59volume control button, which is nice. So
- 8:01level two connectors is very nice. But
- 8:04then we get into kind of the star of the
- 8:06show, what's got people super excited,
- 8:08which is level three, and that is what's
- 8:11called Grock bots. And again, it's a
- 8:14little confusing here, but to use my
- 8:16rough illustration, if level two is
- 8:19allowing you to get into the front door
- 8:21and see inside your house. Level three
- 8:23is letting the bot go into your house.
- 8:26And basically the easiest analogy I can
- 8:28say for this is that a Grockbot can
- 8:31basically do anything that you could do
- 8:34sitting in front of a computer. In fact,
- 8:35Grockbot is basically a AI agent in
- 8:39front or using a virtual computer. So it
- 8:43can program things, it can make
- 8:45applications, it can log into websites,
- 8:47it can go through an order page. Grock
- 8:50bots can be ultra powerful and you can
- 8:52be as powerful and customizable as you
- 8:55want it to be or it can just do really
- 8:57simple things. For example, Grock bots
- 9:00cannot just read your email, but it can
- 9:02craft responses. It can organize your
- 9:05inbox. You can say, "Hey, you know, uh,
- 9:07audit all of my emails and remove myself
- 9:10from, uh, all of the, uh, dumb, uh, junk
- 9:13mail I'm getting, uh, with kind of the
- 9:16automated, uh, subscriptions." Or you
- 9:18could say, "Hey, Grockbot, um, you know,
- 9:20go through and, um, cancel. Like the
- 9:22other day I had to cancel Hulu. Go in
- 9:24and cancel my Hulu account and do this
- 9:25or that." Um, it really can be powerful
- 9:28and it can really start to do a lot of
- 9:30stuff for you. And again, one of the
- 9:32reasons why this is so exciting and why
- 9:34it's so cool and why it matters isn't
- 9:37just because this tech exists, because
- 9:39it exists in a lot of different places
- 9:40on the web, but because you can
- 9:42literally do it as you're sitting in
- 9:43your car with FSD activated, just having
- 9:47a conversation in natural plain English
- 9:50or whatever the supported language
- 9:51you're using is in that case, and just
- 9:54talking and saying what you want and not
- 9:56having to be physically in front of a
- 9:58computer. Now, when you're driving, this
- 9:59can also be particularly cool because it
- 10:01can do things for you. For example, a
- 10:03minute ago, I showed you like making
- 10:05that itinerary to go to New York. I
- 10:07could have my Grock bot actually make me
- 10:09a reservation at a hotel if I wanted to,
- 10:12for example. Or I could say, "Hey, I
- 10:14want to go to um I don't know, like this
- 10:17fancy restaurant in Times Square. Make
- 10:19me a reservation." It's not just being
- 10:21able to get real-time info, but it's the
- 10:23act of actually doing things for you,
- 10:25which is where this gets super exciting.
- 10:27I can say, "Hey, Grock, um, have my
- 10:30Grockbot go ahead and take a look at New
- 10:33York City. I want to go and say at the
- 10:35Plaza Hotel sometime in November, have
- 10:38it take a look at the best time to go at
- 10:40the best prices and go ahead and give me
- 10:43a rundown of when the cheapest dates
- 10:45would be to go. Probably want to stay
- 10:48two nights in a standard room, unless
- 10:50there's some kind of crazy good deal."
- 10:52>> Sent it to research. It'll dig into
- 10:54November pricing for a two night
- 10:56standard room at the plaza and come back
- 10:58with the cheapest dates and a quick
- 11:00rundown.
- 11:01It's already on it. I'll flag you when
- 11:04it has the numbers.
- 11:05>> Again, that is where things get really
- 11:07cool. And as you can see, you know, the
- 11:09potential here is really cool. You could
- 11:11have it ordering you coffee. Maybe if
- 11:13you're on uh you know, you're driving to
- 11:15work or you're driving home, say, "Hey,
- 11:16I want to stop on my way home at that
- 11:18Duncan near my house. Please go ahead
- 11:20and order me this, this, this." And that
- 11:22is where things can get really cool.
- 11:24Now, I could give you a bunch of demos,
- 11:26but it's not so much fun with me looking
- 11:28at it. It's easier to go out and do it
- 11:30yourself. So, that's what I recommend.
- 11:32And then a couple other tips here is now
- 11:34if you don't want to start from scratch,
- 11:36I think it's called the Grock bot
- 11:38marketplace where you can go and
- 11:40download other people's bots that are
- 11:42ready to go and they can do certain
- 11:43things for you. And as you can imagine,
- 11:46people get very creative with this. In
- 11:48fact, there are actually specific Grock
- 11:50bots you can run that just make you
- 11:52money. Like some people have made some
- 11:54that go out and find you uh like your
- 11:56unclaimed funds, your unclaimed
- 11:57property. You could have a Grockbot
- 11:59working to uh sell things for you or
- 12:02find a compensation you're owed and
- 12:04things like that. Like this is literally
- 12:05a money-making thing that can actually
- 12:08do things for you and find you money or
- 12:10make you money uh as you drive. uh you
- 12:13just kind of have to know what to do or
- 12:16find the right template. Uh but this
- 12:18really is seriously a thing you can do
- 12:20right now. And then kind of as you can
- 12:22see down the line, this is precisely the
- 12:24system Tesla is going to utilize when it
- 12:27comes to paying owners for their
- 12:29vehicles. So we've talked about, you
- 12:31know, digital optimist and this whole
- 12:32idea about using AI in the vehicles.
- 12:34This is kind of Tesla's early plan to
- 12:37start making Teslas pay for themselves
- 12:39and not just reward owners for doing
- 12:42things. But just imagine Tesla being
- 12:44able to tap into your Grob bot or your
- 12:46car's computer and using that in their
- 12:48cluster and then paying you for it.
- 12:51Again, there's a lot of possibilities
- 12:53here and this is just a little peek at
- 12:55how exciting hopefully the not too
- 12:57distant future uh is going to be. Okay,
- 13:00but with all that being said, super
- 13:02exciting stuff. There are a couple of
- 13:04caveats right now you should know about.
- 13:06Number one, kind of the biggest
- 13:07roadblock with this is that it's only
- 13:09available on AMD Ryzenbased vehicles. So
- 13:12if you have an Intel vehicle,
- 13:15technically we've seen Gro can run on
- 13:17those vehicles, but it's not there just
- 13:20yet. Now, given the popularity of Grock
- 13:23and specifically, if we're being honest,
- 13:25the money-making opportunity Tesla has
- 13:27with this and the selling features and
- 13:29the selling like marketing angles for
- 13:31this, I wouldn't be surprised if maybe
- 13:33the holiday update surprise this year is
- 13:36Grock integration on Intel vehicles. So,
- 13:38I would stay on the lookout for that,
- 13:40but currently it's only on AMDbased
- 13:43vehicles. Second obvious caveat here is
- 13:45that this is all just done by voice.
- 13:47Now, you can give commands to Grock to
- 13:50do certain things like tell my bot to do
- 13:52X, Y, or Z or ask it questions, but in
- 13:55terms of you being able to see things or
- 13:57log into things, you can't do that. And
- 13:59there will be plenty of instances,
- 14:01especially in the beginning, where the
- 14:03Grock bot is going to need you to log
- 14:04into this or give this information um
- 14:06that's going to be easier to be able to
- 14:08be done when you're parked on your phone
- 14:10or your computer than doing it by voice.
- 14:12So, again, something to definitely uh
- 14:14keep in mind. There's also, of course,
- 14:16the obligatory privacy implications and
- 14:18AI and if you're comfortable with that.
- 14:20I I'm, you know, very open to this and I
- 14:22like testing it out. So, that's my
- 14:23prerogative, but some people might feel
- 14:25differently. And then finally, again,
- 14:27one of the other kind of gotchas here is
- 14:29that there are some of this stuff behind
- 14:30a payw wall. So, Grock on the Tesla
- 14:33currently is free up to a certain amount
- 14:36of usage, but then if you want to start
- 14:38to use connectors and especially bots,
- 14:41that's where you start to run into pay
- 14:42walls. Now, I'm not sure if connectors
- 14:45are necessarily free or not. I'll try to
- 14:47dig into that info and then put it in
- 14:49the comments down below, but I know for
- 14:51bots it is behind a payw wall. You have
- 14:53to have a certain Gro subscription or X
- 14:55subscription in order to use that. So,
- 14:57you have to kind of uh already be on
- 14:59that ecosystem to make it worthwhile.
- 15:01But again, given what this can do for
- 15:03you, and if you've got a long commute
- 15:05and you want to have uh your bot do some
- 15:07things for you and maybe triage an email
- 15:09or do some research for you, whatever it
- 15:11is, uh you can easily see how this very
- 15:14well could pay for itself uh if you had
- 15:17the right use cases for it. So, not
- 15:19going to be great for everybody, but for
- 15:21some people it does make a lot of sense.
- 15:25Also, a bit of breaking news in the
- 15:27Tesla world. October 1st is the go for
- 15:30launch date, the reveal of the allnew
- 15:33Roadster that's ready to go. Though, I
- 15:34got to say, I don't know if the design
- 15:35is going to change, but I love the
- 15:37design of this. And also love that I've
- 15:40got it in miniature form. Thanks to my
- 15:42friends over at Mini REVs, they are the
- 15:44one place to go for a bunch of custom
- 15:47miniatures. They've got the entire Tesla
- 15:49lineup. All of these are incredibly
- 15:51wellmade. They've got insane amounts of
- 15:53detail on the inside and out. They even
- 15:56can light up. They've got different ways
- 15:58you can display them if you want to get
- 16:00them for yourself. They also make a
- 16:01great gift. Uh but there's also a new
- 16:03offering as well that you can actually
- 16:04use a superpowered AI feature to just
- 16:07seamlessly chat through the process of
- 16:10building your own custom miniature. And
- 16:13just to show you how easy this was, I
- 16:15just went into the mini REV studio. I
- 16:17went and just said, "Hey, I want a
- 16:18Rivian R1S. I want the latest model. Uh
- 16:21here's the size. I want exterior uh
- 16:23interior custom license plate. and I
- 16:25wanted black wheels. And then not only
- 16:27does it do it really quickly, but it
- 16:29even shows me what a miniature is going
- 16:31to look like with the size and details I
- 16:34want. There's that beautiful forest
- 16:35screen, white interior. And again, it
- 16:38could be gas, it can be EV, you have
- 16:40your option for shape and size and
- 16:43little details. Mini REVs makes this so
- 16:46simple, so easy. And again, you can go
- 16:48there and get kind of just pre-made
- 16:50Teslas ready to go. Build out your own.
- 16:52They've got accessories. like boxes and
- 16:55so much more. If you guys want to check
- 16:56it out, could not recommend it more
- 16:58enough. Get your holiday shopping done
- 16:59early. By the way, now is the time to
- 17:02get it all sorted. Check out Mini REVs
- 17:04at the link down below. Check out their
- 17:05allnew design studio for your own custom
- 17:08miniature. And again, use my special
- 17:10code for a discount as well. Also, as we
- 17:14head into the super busy season of the
- 17:16fall with holidays and Tesla events and
- 17:19end of quarter madness and Tesla
- 17:21surprises, uh it is hard personally for
- 17:23me to keep track of everything going on.
- 17:25I'm sure it is tough for you guys as
- 17:26well. Which is why my secret superpower,
- 17:29what I use to talk to literally all day,
- 17:32every day. I call it like my second
- 17:33digital brain is this. This is my
- 17:36Plaude. Well, this is my broken finger,
- 17:37but this is my Plaude Notepin S made by
- 17:40my friends over at Plaude, who have an
- 17:42amazing lineup of devices that
- 17:44seamlessly help you capture anything and
- 17:47everything. Um, if I'm watching a Tesla
- 17:49event, like a breakdown of the Cyber
- 17:51Cab, and I'm not, you know, sure I'm
- 17:53going to remember all this stuff, again,
- 17:54I have the pod recording that so I can
- 17:56go back and check it out later. And then
- 17:58just in general, if I have video ideas,
- 18:00if I'm in the car driving or out on a
- 18:02walk, I have my Plaude and I record with
- 18:05that because the beauty is that I can
- 18:07access that anytime, anywhere, I can
- 18:09jump into the Plot app. I can get
- 18:11transcriptions. I can ask the Plot AI
- 18:13questions like, "Hey, what was the deal
- 18:15with that engineering piece from the
- 18:17Cyber Cab?" or "What was that video idea
- 18:18I had the other day?" So on and so
- 18:20forth. And it's able to give me that
- 18:21information. It is the smartest device
- 18:24I've ever tested and has literally been
- 18:26a gamecher for my family. It is amazing.
- 18:29If you guys do want to learn more and
- 18:30check out the Plaude family, I will
- 18:32leave a link down below. And also, there
- 18:33is a new special coupon code and
- 18:35discount you can take advantage of for a
- 18:37limited time as well. Again, I'll have

- 18:46the fall, I know a lot of you guys might
- 18:48be tempted at the shiny new iPhone. But

- 18:56fraction of a fraction of that amount

- 19:29I think one of the reasons that people
