- 0:00Today I have some of the scariest true
- 0:03terrifying stories that we were able to
- 0:05find. And joining me I have Silus Dean
- 0:08and welcome back to the show Silus.
- 0:09>> I'm so happy to be here.
- 0:11>> And you kept me waiting for quite a long
- 0:12time in that lobby as you can see.
- 0:14>> Years. You aged 60 years.
- 0:17>> It's been a while.
- 0:19>> No, thank you so much for coming back.
- 0:20You Wait, you were just telling me that
- 0:23you went camping.
- 0:24>> I did go camping. Oh, you want the story
- 0:25up front? Well, I want to hear about
- 0:27camping because when you told me you
- 0:29were going camping, I was like, is Silus
- 0:30a camping person?
- 0:32>> I am.
- 0:32>> You are.
- 0:33>> I am. Are you not?
- 0:34>> I mean, we talked about this a little
- 0:35bit last time.
- 0:36>> I haven't camped in a long time and now
- 0:38that I have a baby, it's going to be
- 0:39probably a minute before I go back.
- 0:42>> Start them young.
- 0:43>> That's true. That is true. It could be
- 0:44like the perfect time.
- 0:45>> Bring the toddler out. Ruin your entire
- 0:46camping trip.
- 0:47>> Yeah. Just have a bad time.
- 0:49>> I would say I'm a camping person to an
- 0:50extent where there are certain things
- 0:52that I need while camping. Like I have
- 0:53some friends that I think are real
- 0:55campers where they just want to be out
- 0:56in the middle of nowhere. I grew up
- 0:58doing family campgrounds where you've
- 1:00got access to a bathroom to running
- 1:01water, a shower.
- 1:03>> Okay.
- 1:03>> So, that's what I'm doing. I do like it,
- 1:06but while Do you want the story now? Cuz
- 1:07if I'm going to go into it,
- 1:09>> do you want to hear the story? Silus
- 1:10told me he had a story for me earlier,
- 1:11and now I just kind of want to hear it.
- 1:13>> All right. All right. I'm I'm bringing
- 1:14it to you, and I I just shared it on the
- 1:16sinister cuz I can't shut up about it. I
- 1:18also told it to Stu. This will be the
- 1:20third time I'm telling it, but I think
- 1:21you need to hear it. So, when I was
- 1:23camping, uh, we were like sitting around
- 1:25a fire and it was me. I'm going to omit
- 1:27names for this. It was my friend. His
- 1:28little brother came who's 24, right?
- 1:30And, you know, he's like warming up to
- 1:32us and telling us stuff and we're
- 1:33sitting by the fire and I have the
- 1:34bright idea. I'm like, "Does anyone have
- 1:36a ghost story? Does anyone have a spooky
- 1:38story?" And his brother was like, "Oh,
- 1:40you should tell him the story about what
- 1:41just happened to you on this trip."
- 1:43Context: His little brother just did a
- 1:46crosscountry bicycle trip from
- 1:49Connecticut to California. Whoa.
- 1:52>> CT to Cali. Literally
- 1:54>> 3,000 miles. That's a lot.
- 1:56>> 60 days of pedaling.
- 1:57>> 60
- 1:58>> 60 days. And he I literally saw the
- 2:00video where he arrived in Santa Monica
- 2:02on the pier. He went all the way to the
- 2:03pier and that was like his finish line.
- 2:05>> Oh, that's so impressive.
- 2:06>> And I'm like, "Oh my god, you must have
- 2:07had crazy experiences." And he's like
- 2:10getting nervous going into this for how
- 2:12crazy this is. He's like, "Well,
- 2:14something did happen on the way." And
- 2:16he's like telling me the story. He's
- 2:18like, "I was riding through the West."
- 2:20He's like, "I had made it all the way
- 2:21to, I think he said, New Mexico, a very
- 2:23rural part of New Mexico." And he's
- 2:24like, "When you're out that far, there
- 2:26are just long, long stretches of road
- 2:29where like nothing's around you. Like,
- 2:30you're not going to find a rest stop.
- 2:31You're not going to find a Walmart." His
- 2:33back tire popped. So, his bike is
- 2:36screwed and he's like, "I don't know
- 2:38what I'm going to do." So, he just
- 2:39starts hitchhiking.
- 2:41My body, my nervous system, he starts
- 2:44hitchhiking. a guy pulls over and he's
- 2:47like a backwoods kind of like he's
- 2:49clearly from these rural parts and he's
- 2:50like he needs some help and he's like
- 2:51hey I know this is like a long shot but
- 2:54could I maybe pay you to like pick me
- 2:55and my bike up and drive me to Santa Fe
- 2:58which is why I think it was in New
- 2:59Mexico and he's like I'll pay you and
- 3:00the guy's like yeah let me go um swap
- 3:03out for another car my truck. So he
- 3:05leaves comes back with the truck but now
- 3:07he has another guy in the passenger
- 3:09seat. It's an old man like when I say
- 3:11old like 50s or 60s young for me. Yeah.
- 3:15>> And this guy, so he gets in, loads his
- 3:17bike in, and the old guy has real bad
- 3:19vibes. And he turns around and he turns
- 3:21to him and he goes, "You seem nervous.
- 3:25Are you nervous?" And this kid's trying
- 3:27to play it cool cuz he's 24. So he's
- 3:28like, "No, man. I'm I'm cool. I'm good."
- 3:31So then they get back to the other guy's
- 3:32house, the original guy who picked him
- 3:34up cuz he's going to like tell his wife
- 3:35like, "I'm by the way, I'm driving this
- 3:36kid to Santa Fe." These are like
- 3:38backwoods good old boys. So they're like
- 3:40drinking while they're driving. So, by
- 3:42the time they get to the house, the wife
- 3:43is like, "You are not taking that boy.
- 3:45You're not taking him to Santa Fe.
- 3:46You're drunk as hell. You're going to
- 3:48stay here. He'll stay the night." So,
- 3:50this kid's like, "I don't want to cause
- 3:51any trouble. Can I just like camp in
- 3:53your front yard?" And the guy is like,
- 3:54"Yeah, I don't care." But then the older
- 3:56guy who was like, "You nervous?" He
- 3:58goes, "You know, I've got a spare room
- 4:01at my place. Why don't you just stay at
- 4:04mine?" And this kid's got bad vibes. So,
- 4:05he's like, "Um, you know, I'm I'm really
- 4:07like kind of doing a camping thing. I
- 4:09just kind of want to be outside." But
- 4:11this guy's insistent. So he's like, "No,
- 4:12no, no. Come over to my place. If you
- 4:14see the room, you don't want it. You can
- 4:16camp in my front yard." So this kid gets
- 4:18pressured. He goes to the guy's house in
- 4:20his car. And it, by the way, he does not
- 4:22live in a shack. He lives in like a
- 4:24McMansion in the middle of the desert.
- 4:26So like rich guy, he's got money. Walks
- 4:29in liinal eerie space of a mansion.
- 4:32Walls are covered in like mounted animal
- 4:35heads. So he's a hunter obviously.
- 4:37>> Yeah. takes him to the spare bedroom and
- 4:40then while they're standing there and
- 4:41this kid's like falling silent, the the
- 4:43old guy turns to him and he goes, "You
- 4:46ever seen the movie Deliverance?" Which
- 4:48do you have a point of reference for
- 4:49that movie?
- 4:50>> Remind me.
- 4:50>> Because okay, nobody at the campsite
- 4:52did. And this kid did not either. So
- 4:54when he's telling me this at the
- 4:55campsite, I'm like, "What?" And he goes,
- 4:57"Yeah, I I told him I didn't know the
- 4:59movie. It's like an alien movie or
- 5:01something." And I said, "No, no, baby.
- 5:03It's not an alien movie. It's a very
- 5:06graphic movie from the 90s with a very
- 5:08infamous male onmale scene. That's where
- 5:11squeal piggy squeal comes from. So when
- 5:14I said the whole campsite was like what?
- 5:17What? So then he said he said no I
- 5:19haven't seen deliverance. And the guy
- 5:20goes well tonight's going to be just
- 5:22like deliverance.
- 5:26And then the kid's like he's just he
- 5:28doesn't know what to how to react. He
- 5:29has no point of reference.
- 5:30>> Are we getting abducted by aliens?
- 5:32>> He doesn't know what the movie is.
- 5:33>> He has no point of reference. Then the
- 5:34guy says, "How about you watch it with
- 5:36me right now?" And this kid, he just
- 5:38gets bad vibes of
- 5:39>> Jeffrey Dmer. It's literally like Dmer.
- 5:41>> I was blowing up at this campsite. I was
- 5:44losing my mind, like shaking like I was
- 5:46in the ward. And then this kid says, you
- 5:48know, um I I appreciate you like offer
- 5:50in the room. He's like, "But I really am
- 5:51doing like a camping thing, so if it's
- 5:53cool with you, could I just post up in
- 5:54your front yard?" This isn't even the
- 5:56crazier part. Can I just post up in your
- 5:58front yard? And the old guy's like,
- 5:59"Yeah, that's that's fine." So all night
- 6:02this kid is sure this guy's gonna come
- 6:04to his tent and like do something to
- 6:06mess with him. So he sleeps with a knife
- 6:07at his chest. Can't sleep. The hours are
- 6:10rolling out like around like 2 3 4:00
- 6:12a.m. and he's watching through the mesh
- 6:14of the tent to the house cuz the guy
- 6:15kept the lights on all night and he sees
- 6:17him. I'm getting chills. Stumbling from
- 6:20like room to room cuz he's getting more
- 6:21and more drunk as the night goes on.
- 6:24Then 5:00 a.m. comes and that's when the
- 6:27other guy, the original guy who was
- 6:28like, his wife was like, "You're not
- 6:30driving that kid to Santa Fe." He's
- 6:31supposed to pull up to pick him up.
- 6:33Truck comes soaring up to the property
- 6:36and the guy gets out and he goes, "Get
- 6:38in now. We're leaving." So the kid grab
- 6:40he grabs his like tent, throws it in the
- 6:42back of the truck, gets in. There are
- 6:43like other friends and people in the
- 6:44truck and then the old guy starts
- 6:46stumbling out from the house to try to
- 6:48get to the truck. Truck speeds off at 60
- 6:51mph. just leaves him in the dust and the
- 6:54kid is like what the hell just happened?
- 6:56Like why are we like frantically like
- 6:58taking off and then everybody in the
- 7:00truck, their phone starts blowing up,
- 7:02texts, calls, somebody plays a
- 7:05voicemail, it's the old guy and they
- 7:07play it out loud and this kid hears it
- 7:09and the old man's like, "You promised
- 7:11me. You promised me I was going to get
- 7:13time with the boy with the biker boy."
- 7:17And this kid is like, "What the fuck?"
- 7:20So then he's like, "What's going on?"
- 7:22And everyone in the truck is like,
- 7:22"Yeah, that guy, he's really wellknown
- 7:25in town. He's got a lot of money, but
- 7:26he's a bad dude." Like really bad dude.
- 7:30And this kid had no idea that he
- 7:32narrowly escaped
- 7:34>> whatever was going down there.
- 7:36>> Oh my god.
- 7:37>> Telling me this, I was like, "You've got
- 7:39to be kidding me. You're serving me a
- 7:41story. I'm a podcaster. You're serving
- 7:43me a story to tell to the world on a
- 7:46silver platter. The Sinister." I was
- 7:48like bouncing off the wall. Sharing it.
- 7:50>> Yeah. Isn't that wild?
- 7:52>> That is so horrifying. That's like it's
- 7:54my biggest fear. But I wonder why the
- 7:56other people let the boy go with
- 7:58>> I had questions about that too cuz this
- 8:00kid also I think asked he was like why
- 8:02did you guys like set me up? Like why
- 8:04did you let me sleep there? And they I
- 8:05think that they're afraid of this guy
- 8:07because remember the very first guy he
- 8:09went to get his truck and swap out and
- 8:10came back with the dude. So I'm like
- 8:12there must be some like weird relational
- 8:14thing where I think maybe he employs
- 8:16people in that area or has like enough
- 8:18money to do stuff. And that was the guy
- 8:20that drove him away was the same guy
- 8:22that picked him up.
- 8:23>> Yeah.
- 8:23>> Okay. Okay.
- 8:24>> Yeah. Not the old man, but I was like I
- 8:26was hearing this and then I I really
- 8:28killed the vibe when I was like, "By the
- 8:29way, everyone, Deliverance, not not an
- 8:31alien movie. We're not doing Return to
- 8:33Mars. This this is a very graphic movie
- 8:36about up in the backwoods."
- 8:38>> Yeah,
- 8:39>> that's a crazy thing to say, know that
- 8:41someone has no point of reference for it
- 8:42and then not to explain it and just say,
- 8:45>> "Tonight's going to be just like that."
- 8:48>> Wow. horrifying. Was that kid okay when
- 8:50you were talking to him? Like
- 8:52>> he seemed great.
- 8:53>> Okay. [laughter]
- 8:54>> It takes a special breed to really if if
- 8:56you're listening, please know I I admire
- 8:58everything of what you did.
- 9:00>> Well, you've already set the stage.
- 9:02>> That might be the best story of the
- 9:04>> Oh my gosh. I know. I'm like, do I have
- 9:06anything that's that level? I actually
- 9:08have Okay, so this is a story that I
- 9:09found on Reddit. It's coming from Let's
- 9:12Not Meet. And it I guess really the
- 9:17story that you just told is very Let's
- 9:18Not Meetesque, right? It's the
- 9:20>> very much
- 9:20>> stranger danger. Okay. So that's what
- 9:22this story is too. And it takes place on
- 9:24Halloween.
- 9:25>> So I wanted to bring this one to you. So
- 9:27this one that I'm going to read is from
- 9:293 years ago. User Underpants Bandit
- 9:34and it's called The Worst Halloween
- 9:36Hideandsek Ever.
- 9:38>> I'm ready.
- 9:39>> And it begins. This one has
- 9:41illustrations unfortunately. So, if
- 9:43you're listening to this, I will be
- 9:44posting those on our Instagram. That's
- 9:46Poundounding. My husband Jim and I own
- 9:48an antique business in a big old bizarre
- 9:51barn of a building. Five floors,
- 9:53multiple other tenants, including a
- 9:55restaurant. Halloween was a Monday last
- 9:57year. We locked up the business at 5:00
- 9:59p.m. and we went to an early dinner
- 10:01across town. [music] Then, we got a call
- 10:04from our security monitoring company at
- 10:076:30. [music]
- 10:08A motion was detected on the lower
- 10:10level. And then another motion. We left
- 10:14in a tearing hurry, but I figured, oh,
- 10:17it's got to be a bird or a rat. We don't
- 10:19have rats, but you know, it's something.
- 10:21Maybe a cat got in. It was way too early
- 10:24in the night for a breakin. At 6:30, I
- 10:27went inside the main level upstairs, and
- 10:29I disarmed the alarm, and I started
- 10:31fumbling noisily with the keys and the
- 10:33big iron gate, one of many that separate
- 10:36the floors at night. Jim checked the
- 10:38perimeter outside for signs of a
- 10:39break-in. Nothing. Doors and windows
- 10:42intact. Definitely absolutely a bird or
- 10:45a rat or a cat. Dusk was now long gone.
- 10:48The shadows had settled in and taken
- 10:50over. Just wardrobes loomed in the dark.
- 10:53Wardrobes and nothing [music] more,
- 10:55right? I headed down below to the
- 10:57location of the alarm, trusting that Jim
- 10:59would follow behind. After all, it was
- 11:02just a rat or a bird. I am accustomed to
- 11:06the building after dark, so I just
- 11:08turned on my phone light, not the
- 11:09overheads, and I walked around boldly
- 11:12like I own the place. I looked in the
- 11:14corner with the motion detector.
- 11:16Nothing, just the red eye blinking
- 11:19mindlessly at me. No animals, no rats,
- 11:22no cats, no birds. I turned and went the
- 11:24other way while Jim poked around a few
- 11:26aisles over and there it was. It was
- 11:30what looked like a burglary kit sitting
- 11:33in the middle of the floor. Bolt
- 11:35cutters, a fire extinguisher, just
- 11:38sitting there waiting. I have a picture
- 11:40of it for you. [snorts]
- 11:42>> Wait, that I can see?
- 11:43>> Yeah. So, you can describe what you see.
- 11:45>> Wa. Okay, now my eyes aren't as good as
- 11:47they used to be. You understand?
- 11:49>> Oh, yes.
- 11:50>> I am seeing a fire I'm so curious about
- 11:52this fire extinguisher. I'm seeing a
- 11:54bolt cutter. I mean, I would have said
- 11:55those are pliers, but that lets you know
- 11:56my Home Depot knowledge.
- 11:58>> Yeah. Yeah. And why else is missing?
- 11:59What am I missing?
- 12:00>> So, it's I think it's just this fire
- 12:02extinguisher. Like maybe they were they
- 12:04brought it in to break something and but
- 12:06a fire extinguisher shouldn't be sitting
- 12:08there. So, you would think you you would
- 12:10like notice that immediately like
- 12:12>> why are these two things just sitting
- 12:14out in the middle of nowhere?
- 12:16>> It's an odd thing to bring in.
- 12:19>> Now, I've never gotten a bigger case of
- 12:21sheer terror so fast. After all, there
- 12:23was no broken window or door. So,
- 12:26whoever was there was still in the
- 12:29basement with me in the dark somewhere.
- 12:32I hissed, "Jim, Jim, Jim, please,
- 12:35please, please." But he didn't hear me.
- 12:37I literally couldn't scream. Just like
- 12:38in those stupid goddamn dreams, my voice
- 12:41was stuck. Just me, the spotlight
- 12:44burglary tools, and a hostile presence I
- 12:47could feel lurking in the dusty shadows,
- 12:50watching while I whispered for someone
- 12:51to save me. Finally, a thousand years or
- 12:54maybe 10 seconds later, Jim wondered why
- 12:57I had taken root in the hallway, and he
- 12:58came to see what was going on. He saw
- 13:00what I was frozen and pointing at, and
- 13:02he was like, "Oh, God." We bolted out
- 13:05the front door to call 911 and wait, and
- 13:08we abandoned the building to the
- 13:09burglar. An eternal 5 minutes later, the
- 13:12police showed up and were initially
- 13:14pretty unimpressed with our find of the
- 13:16crowbar and fire extinguisher until we
- 13:18pulled up the security footage that
- 13:21revealed the actual horror. The face of
- 13:23my new sleep paralysis demon. I'll share
- 13:26with you. This is what they saw.
- 13:28>> Stop. Stop.
- 13:31>> You're going to put this up online?
- 13:33>> Yeah.
- 13:33>> Oh my god.
- 13:34>> I'm going to put this so you'll see it
- 13:36on our Instagram. It's also on our
- 13:37YouTube.
- 13:38>> What is it? He's wearing a mask, I'm
- 13:40guessing. Or like what kind of a
- 13:41>> covering is that? Yeah, but like why
- 13:43that mask?
- 13:44>> Looks like an Avengers outfit or
- 13:46something like all spandex. Like does he
- 13:48have stuff on his
- 13:49>> hands? He's a little built. [laughter]
- 13:53>> Well, he looks strong.
- 13:54>> He look like those are muscles. Those
- 13:56are pecs coming through. Like he looks
- 13:58strong and like he definitely has
- 13:59something.
- 14:01>> What? That would do me in. Caitlyn,
- 14:04could you imagine seeing that? Do you
- 14:06have a security system? I have one.
- 14:07>> We do? Yeah. Yeah. And I I am constantly
- 14:10fearful I'm going to see something on
- 14:11like a camera or have you ever heard
- 14:13like cuz I don't know what system you
- 14:14have but mine have the monitors like on
- 14:17the window so when the window opens it
- 14:19goes like ding
- 14:20>> ding. Yeah.
- 14:21>> I was in bed one night and heard that.
- 14:23>> No.
- 14:24>> And I was like well it's been a great
- 14:26ride.
- 14:27>> Was it someone opening your window?
- 14:29>> No. I don't even malfunction and went
- 14:31off.
- 14:31>> Yeah. Yeah. I think maybe it could have
- 14:33been windy or something like that. But
- 14:34even so, you wouldn't think that that
- 14:36would happen.
- 14:37>> Yes. I don't know.
- 14:38>> So, the the poster goes on to say, "This
- 14:40guy, as is obvious, he's built like a
- 14:43lean, mean brick. He crouched on a
- 14:46landing behind a bookcase when we
- 14:48closed, and he watched me and my staff
- 14:51lock up." This is what they're seeing on
- 14:53the video. He bited his time and then,
- 14:55as calm as could be, he walked out and
- 14:58went to the men's restroom in the
- 15:00hallway downstairs. That area isn't set
- 15:03for motion detect for a variety of
- 15:04reasons. He spent a while in there
- 15:06moving around with the door open. He
- 15:09constructed the mask using one of ours
- 15:12and a fake flower wreath to hold it on.
- 15:15Purple plastic clatus. He looked right
- 15:18into the camera barefaced and then put
- 15:20the mask on, stared at it fixedly in his
- 15:23mask for a time, and then finally pulled
- 15:25his gloves on. This is another image
- 15:28that they shared. So that was him before
- 15:30he put the mask on.
- 15:32>> Even that's kind of scary to me.
- 15:33>> I know. It's the blank look in the eyes.
- 15:36>> He and he just doesn't care. Like he saw
- 15:37the camera and then put the mask on cuz
- 15:39he didn't care.
- 15:40>> Oh god.
- 15:41>> And then they go on to say he stacked a
- 15:44few solid body vintage suitcases in
- 15:46front of a tall iron gate and he hopped
- 15:47right over like it was nothing. He ran
- 15:49down the hall which triggered the 6:30
- 15:51silent alarm and looped the floor. He
- 15:53ran back into the hall, moved a ladder
- 15:55to hop back to the other side of the
- 15:57gate and bizarrely just repeated this
- 15:59whole thing a few times. Then he went
- 16:01into the basement. He wormed over a
- 16:0415-inch gap, over another iron gate, and
- 16:07back into the hall again. And then he
- 16:09stared into the camera more. And then he
- 16:11repeated that again. He was moving fast,
- 16:13up, over, back, forth, upstairs,
- 16:15downstairs, parkour style almost. And
- 16:18then he got the tools out and peeled
- 16:20apart one of our steel lock boxes with
- 16:21the crowbar and stole a handful of our
- 16:24keys to access showcases.
- 16:27There's another.
- 16:28>> So they show I guess
- 16:30>> I It's so rare. I see story submissions
- 16:32that have photos. So, this is wild to
- 16:34contextualize it. Wo!
- 16:36>> I know all these pictures of like the
- 16:37stuff that he had done of how he broke
- 16:39in. And then they go on to say, "At this
- 16:41point, he heard me fumbling with our
- 16:43gate keys upstairs. He ditched the
- 16:46stolen keys and tools and he hid
- 16:48watching me while he waited in the dark.
- 16:51We exited to call 911 and then he ran
- 16:53back into the basement. In the basement,
- 16:55there's access to a dirt tunnel that
- 16:56circles the perimeter of the building.
- 16:58He broke the door open and entered.
- 17:00spiders the size of dinner plates live
- 17:02in there. He had no light. It's muddy.
- 17:04It's dark. It is petrifying in there.
- 17:07And then again, they sure didn't like
- 17:11this is exit.
- 17:14>> Sounds really agile.
- 17:16>> I know. Like the parkour that he's
- 17:17doing. There's a tiny exit hatch, and if
- 17:20you walk the whole thing and take
- 17:21multiple turns, it dumps you into the
- 17:24busy kitchen of a restaurant, whereupon
- 17:26you would need to stroll past the line
- 17:28cooks out into the restaurant proper,
- 17:29which has cameras, and then one could
- 17:32leave their [music] front door,
- 17:33plastered with mud, which does leave
- 17:36tracks. When we found it, there was his
- 17:38clear entrance into the tunnel, but
- 17:40there were no exit tracks, no money
- 17:42footprints, nobody walking out on the
- 17:44restaurant cameras. The cooks noticed
- 17:47nothing. Reviewing the footage, the
- 17:50timing of it all, tracing his path from
- 17:51camera to camera and searching the
- 17:53building all took hours. And by the end,
- 17:55all of us, including the police, were
- 17:57starting to lose our collective cool and
- 17:59freak out. There was no chill. Even the
- 18:01guys with the guns, were rattled. After
- 18:03all, where did this guy go? Jim and the
- 18:06two officers had no choice but to walk
- 18:08the dirt tunnel, but there was nothing
- 18:09there, just spiders. Jim got the okay
- 18:12from them to board up both ends of the
- 18:14tunnel, which he did. solidly and thus
- 18:17the story ends. The pictures got spread
- 18:19widely, but we got no useful leads
- 18:21despite the decent face shot. Did he
- 18:24indeed crawl out of a hatch into the
- 18:25busy kitchen and stroll out past the
- 18:27cooks, leaving no trace of mud? Maybe.
- 18:30We got no suspicious smells coming out
- 18:32of the tunnel in later weeks and months.
- 18:34Nobody has really walked to the far side
- 18:36since, though. We only onboarded the
- 18:38tunnel last week for the split water
- 18:40main shenanigans. I have vowed that I
- 18:43will use his skull in this year's
- 18:44Halloween display if he is dead down
- 18:46there.
- 18:46>> Oh god.
- 18:47>> And that's how it ends.
- 18:48>> Took a real severe turn at the end.
- 18:50>> That's how it ends.
- 18:51>> Imagine he's just the health inspector.
- 18:52They're really doing a number these
- 18:54days.
- 18:54>> Oh my gosh. Oh my [laughter] gosh. Where
- 18:57did he go? That's the thing that I don't
- 18:58like is where did he go? Cuz was he
- 19:00living there the whole time? I just
- 19:01think about like we've covered stories
- 19:03on hearts pounding like the Denver
- 19:04Spider-Man where someone was living in
- 19:06your house for years.
- 19:06>> Please. Please. I can't. My nervous
- 19:08system can't take stuff like this. It's
- 19:10so crazy you're bringing this up cuz I
- 19:12was I just did the sinister last night
- 19:14and I was remembering a story when I
- 19:16worked at a restaurant of something not
- 19:19nearly to this degree but like um do you
- 19:21ever work in a restaurant and like you
- 19:22know how dry storage isn't always like
- 19:23on the same floor of the restaurant?
- 19:24It's like in the basement or something.
- 19:25>> I only did fast food, not like a real
- 19:27restaurant.
- 19:27>> Oh, so you were really in the trenches.
- 19:29>> Oh yeah, in the trenches.
- 19:30>> You were at the front lines of war.
- 19:32>> Yes.
- 19:33>> We had this was a big one in Century
- 19:34City. So like and it was in the mall. So
- 19:37the dry storage was several floors down
- 19:39and it was like very open like a huge
- 19:41like basement storage level but there
- 19:42was one hatch in the wall that if you it
- 19:45was padlocked but if you opened it there
- 19:46was extra storage in there. They called
- 19:48it the dungeon. I had never gone in
- 19:50there and then like to get in you have
- 19:51to crawl through the hatch. Like not
- 19:53crawl but like step in cuz it doesn't
- 19:55meet the floor. And I went down there
- 19:56one time during a private event with my
- 19:58manager and she came cuz only managers
- 20:01have the key and she went to go unlock
- 20:02it and she opened it and I looked in.
- 20:04It's pitch black in there, but if you
- 20:05like look really far in, you can see
- 20:07like, oh yeah, there's like old like
- 20:09faux plants, like stuff from 10 years
- 20:11ago. And we're like, all right, let's go
- 20:13in and like get the extra chairs. And
- 20:15right when we're about to step in, we
- 20:17both heard something in there move.
- 20:19>> Yeah,
- 20:20>> like AAM's razor. Was it probably an
- 20:22animal? Even though there are no
- 20:23windows, maybe.
- 20:24>> Still, I don't want to see a rat down
- 20:25there. That's also terrifying. It
- 20:26>> did not sound like a rat. It sounded
- 20:28heavy.
- 20:28>> Oh,
- 20:29>> it almost sounded like something was
- 20:30shifting in there. But we we looked at
- 20:32each other and I'm happy she kind of
- 20:33took her manager hat off and she was
- 20:35like,
- 20:36>> "They can stand.
- 20:37>> We're not doing it."
- 20:38>> Yeah. How about they stand? She locked
- 20:39that thing so quick. We went right back
- 20:41upstairs.
- 20:42>> So scary. I mean, I told the story on
- 20:43this show like a long time ago, but I
- 20:45got locked in the back freezer of the
- 20:48fast food restaurant that I worked at.
- 20:49>> Are you kidding? I was going to die.
- 20:51>> You would have died.
- 20:52>> This would have This was probably 2010.
- 20:56So, we had cell phones, but not like
- 20:58good cell phones. How were you working
- 20:59when you were 6 years old, Kaitlin?
- 21:01>> I know. When I was a [laughter] near
- 21:03year child labor.
- 21:05>> Yes, cuz I was born in 2004. [laughter]
- 21:08>> No, but I Yeah. had to go in the back
- 21:11freezer for something. I was closing, so
- 21:13it was just me and my manager who did
- 21:14not care if I lived or died. And went
- 21:17back there and I just So, there's the
- 21:19fridge and there's back freezer. walked
- 21:21through the fridge, got some stuff, open
- 21:23the back freezer door, it closes behind
- 21:25me and I hear like
- 21:27>> and a bunch of produce had just fallen
- 21:29in front of the door and I go to open it
- 21:30and it's stuck.
- 21:32>> No, no, no.
- 21:33>> And I I don't even think I had my cell
- 21:34phone. If I did have my cell phone,
- 21:36there would have been no service, but I
- 21:37don't even think I had my cell phone on
- 21:38me. So, I start banging on the door
- 21:40like, "Hey, [screaming] hey." But my
- 21:42manager is in the other room. And
- 21:44eventually, I was able to throw my body
- 21:46against the door so hard that it just
- 21:47opened. And so, I get out. I'm like
- 21:49sobbing. I'm like my tears into my face
- 21:52and he's like, "What happened?" And I
- 21:54was like, "I got stuck in the back
- 21:56freezer." And he was like, "Oh yeah, Pam
- 21:59got stuck back there and she had to go
- 22:00to the hospital. She almost died. Like,
- 22:02be careful." [laughter] And I was like,
- 22:04>> imagine. He's like, "That's great. Can
- 22:06you um how's your Sunday looking like?
- 22:07Can you cover the PM shift?"
- 22:09>> Yeah. All right. Do you have a story for
- 22:10me?
- 22:10>> I do. Oh my gosh.
- 22:11>> I have stories, which I'm really excited
- 22:12about because the last time you brought
- 22:14a story, it was so scary.
- 22:16>> I brought it to you today, just so you
- 22:17have an option.
- 22:18>> My day. [laughter] Yeah. Amazing.

- 24:33>> Good. Wait, is this Did you order it for

- 24:41>> Yeah.
- 24:41>> You know, it is a nice game though.
- 24:43>> It's really nice. It's solid.
- 24:44>> Brought to you by Canes and Canes Plus.
- 24:47>> Yeah. Our sponsor for today.
- 24:49>> Now, this story, it came in anonymous. I
- 24:52titled it. You know what? I'm not going
- 24:53to share the title of it. Actually,
- 24:54you're going to go in blind
- 24:55>> last time, too. You did tell me the
- 24:57story.
- 24:57>> My instinct kick again. I was never
- 24:59really a believer of the paranormal,
- 25:01which is a laugh in hindsight, but
- 25:04sometimes it takes a bit of personal
- 25:05experience before you come around to an
- 25:07[music] idea. And this was an experience
- 25:10that definitely left a mark on me. Back
- 25:12in 2006, my husband and I were newly
- 25:14married and we were both hustling with
- 25:16our jobs, trying to climb quick at our
- 25:18companies. We hadn't really started a
- 25:19family yet, and we had not bought our
- 25:21first home together. That changed one
- 25:23day when I saw a listing in the paper
- 25:25for a place that was a good few towns
- 25:27over, but it looked adorable. I remember
- 25:30it was a quaint little two-bedroom spot,
- 25:32had white paneling on the outside and
- 25:34these gorgeous rose bushes that lined
- 25:37the windows underneath, but really it
- 25:39caught my eye because we could afford
- 25:41it. It was cheap, surprisingly cheap.
- 25:45But I remember thinking, you miss 100%
- 25:47of the shots you don't take. So, I
- 25:48called the number for the listing agent
- 25:49and before I knew it, we had the option
- 25:52to tour the place and we put in an
- 25:54offer. Now, I'll admit we jumped on it
- 25:57pretty quick and I have definitely
- 25:58learned my lesson in years gone by that
- 26:00you should always do an inspection of a
- 26:02home before you move into a place. But,
- 26:06we started having issues with the HVAC
- 26:07unit right away since it was getting
- 26:09warmer out. So, we had to call a repair
- 26:11man and figured we might as well call an
- 26:13inspector to come do a full sweep
- 26:15[music] of the house to figure out what
- 26:16we had gotten ourselves into and if
- 26:18there were any other hidden issues. But
- 26:21this was when we actually learned about
- 26:22the history of the home. The inspector
- 26:25that we called was local and he came
- 26:28through the place and definitely noted
- 26:29the HVAC unit was an obvious problem,
- 26:32but couldn't see any other noticeable
- 26:33issues in the home other than normal
- 26:35wear and tear. And it wasn't very old
- 26:37really. It was built in the 1990s. But
- 26:40what he had also mentioned were the
- 26:42people who lived in that house before
- 26:44us. And he said that they were good
- 26:46people and a lot of folks miss them. I
- 26:49guess I'd stuck my nose out where it
- 26:50shouldn't belong. And I decided to ask
- 26:52him what he meant by that, which I
- 26:54remember is when he looked at me and
- 26:56realized I had no idea who lived in the
- 26:59house before we moved in and really why
- 27:01we got the place so cheap. the couple
- 27:03that had lived in that house, so we were
- 27:05told, had died in a murder suicide.
- 27:09He wasn't going to be forthcoming with
- 27:11the details, but I kept on prying,
- 27:13almost like I couldn't stop asking
- 27:14questions since it was all lining up now
- 27:16as to why we got the place at such a
- 27:18good price. The wife had become
- 27:20unstable, I guess, and was paranoid that
- 27:22her husband had been having an affair
- 27:24behind her back. And although this guy
- 27:26described her as a sweet woman, it
- 27:28sounds like her mental state had kind of
- 27:29declined. And she grew suspicious of her
- 27:32husband to the point where when he
- 27:34threatened to finally leave over the
- 27:36accusations, she shot him with his own
- 27:39gun that he kept in the closet and then
- 27:41took her own life in the master bathroom
- 27:44with the same gun. [music]
- 27:46It was almost 2 weeks before anybody had
- 27:48gone to check on them and the bodies
- 27:50were discovered. And when the house had
- 27:52been passed to the family, they kept it
- 27:54off the market for over a year just
- 27:56before they listed it. My husband and I
- 27:58had no idea. But I would say shortly
- 28:01after this was when I started to notice
- 28:03things around the house, which honestly
- 28:06complicated things because I wasn't sure
- 28:07if we were picking up on things that
- 28:09were a part of my own paranoia just from
- 28:11knowing who had been living in that
- 28:12house before us and that there were two
- 28:14people who were found dead the year
- 28:16prior. It was little things at first,
- 28:18like small objects that would go
- 28:20missing. I was often losing earrings
- 28:22that I was sure I had left on the
- 28:24dresser, sometimes a pen that my husband
- 28:26was convinced he had left on the desk in
- 28:28our second bedroom, which we used as an
- 28:30office. Suddenly wasn't there anymore
- 28:33after a few hours. I also had a repeat
- 28:36issue with this mirror in the house. It
- 28:38was a small vintage mirror that I hung
- 28:40up on the outside of the doorway that
- 28:43would enter our kitchen. And no matter
- 28:44how many times I would straighten it, I
- 28:46would fix it, I would check the level on
- 28:48it, I would constantly walk away, come
- 28:50back, and find the mirror tilted ever so
- 28:53slightly. It was a strange time to be a
- 28:56skeptic. And at times, I myself felt
- 28:58like I was losing my mind and just
- 29:00couldn't tell if I was psyching myself
- 29:02out, repeatedly thinking about what had
- 29:04happened in that house and which rooms
- 29:07it had happened in. Hell, which room she
- 29:09took her life in, which was my bathroom.
- 29:13But that's exactly where I saw what I
- 29:15saw.
- 29:17My husband had joined a golf club with a
- 29:19few of his buddies, and they met every
- 29:21Sunday, which meant that I had the
- 29:23afternoons alone in the house to sleep
- 29:24in, catch up on some cleaning, I could
- 29:26run out and do errands. He had gone
- 29:28right after 9:00 a.m. since it was a bit
- 29:31of a drive and he had to pick up a
- 29:32couple of his friends. So, I remember
- 29:34being in the living room folding some
- 29:35laundry that morning that I had left in
- 29:37the dryer the night before when I
- 29:39suddenly had a very bad feeling come
- 29:41over me. It wasn't a very obvious
- 29:43feeling. It felt more like I was getting
- 29:45sick or nauseous out of nowhere. I
- 29:48couldn't figure out what had brought
- 29:49that on and why the room suddenly felt
- 29:51so heavy, but I decided I wasn't going
- 29:53to force myself to fold clothes if I
- 29:55wasn't feeling great. I remember I stood
- 29:58up from the couch where I'd been sorting
- 30:00socks from underwear. And when I did, I
- 30:02went to go cross over the living room
- 30:04towards the kitchen. And I could have
- 30:06sworn for a very split second in the
- 30:09reflection of that glass mirror, the
- 30:10vintage one, which was also now crooked.
- 30:13I caught a quick glimpse of myself
- 30:15moving past it and thought I saw another
- 30:17person in the reflection as well. I
- 30:20remember it happened very quick. And
- 30:22just as quick as I thought I saw it, I
- 30:25looked back and it was just me in the
- 30:27mirror. At this point, I really thought
- 30:30I was losing it. Maybe it was just early
- 30:33and I was tired. Maybe I was really
- 30:35coming down with something. So, I
- 30:36decided to shake it off and just put a
- 30:38pause on the laundry. And I decided I
- 30:39was actually going to shower and get
- 30:41dressed and maybe carry on with my day.
- 30:43Maybe heading out of the house for a few
- 30:44could do me some good. I walked back to
- 30:47our bedroom still with that heavy
- 30:49feeling in my legs and the paranoia that
- 30:51I couldn't shake. And I told myself,
- 30:53"You're tired. You're tired. You're home
- 30:55alone. you spooked yourself. Because I
- 30:58couldn't stop thinking about that couple
- 31:00in this house. Let it go. Let it go. Go
- 31:02on with your day. So, I got into the
- 31:04bathroom. I turned on the hot water
- 31:06hoping that it was going to jolt me out
- 31:07of this feeling. And I remember being in
- 31:09the shower [music] and still feeling
- 31:12that something was wrong and it wouldn't
- 31:14let up. It's like as if you left a
- 31:16burner on on the stove top and
- 31:17something's burning and you know it, but
- 31:20you're actively choosing to ignore it.
- 31:21Pretend like it's not happening. like
- 31:24you can smell the char in the pot even
- 31:26though you're not looking at it. Still,
- 31:29I pushed myself to shake it off. Wash
- 31:31your hair, wash your face, wake yourself
- 31:33up. But in the shower is where I
- 31:36experienced the moment that made me a
- 31:38believer. I had my head under the shower
- 31:41head for a bit, was rinsing out the very
- 31:43last of my shampoo, so my eyes were
- 31:45closed for just a minute. When I opened
- 31:47them, I pressed my hands to my face to
- 31:49rub the water out of my eyes, still
- 31:51feeling that nauseous pit in my stomach.
- 31:53And when I turned over my shoulder to
- 31:55reach for the conditioner, I felt like
- 31:57my heart stopped.
- 32:00I'd come face to face with the corner of
- 32:02my shower curtain, where I could see the
- 32:04partial and close-up view of another
- 32:07woman's face peeking into the shower,
- 32:10looking at me.
- 32:12It was a woman with her face right up
- 32:15against the curtain's edge, and I could
- 32:17only see one side of her face. So, I saw
- 32:19her big, wide eyes staring at me, and
- 32:22her mouth just hanging open like she was
- 32:24stunned. Her skin looked colorless. I
- 32:28can't even really say she looked gray or
- 32:30white like a ghost. It was just like her
- 32:31skin had no color at all. I remember the
- 32:35feeling of trying to scream, but I was
- 32:37so scared. It felt like my chest locked
- 32:39up for a second and I couldn't even get
- 32:41a breath in. I fell backwards towards
- 32:43the opposite wall of the shower and
- 32:45knocked some bottles off the ledge,
- 32:47which hit my feet and broke my focus
- 32:49from her face for only a second as I
- 32:51looked down at the tub. When I looked
- 32:53back up, she wasn't there. I ripped the
- 32:56shower curtain open, the water still
- 32:58running and getting everywhere, and
- 33:00there was no one in the bathroom. What I
- 33:03saw was so clear, I was momentarily
- 33:05convinced there was a woman in the
- 33:06house.
- 33:07>> [music]
- 33:07>> So, I immediately thought, I'm going to
- 33:09have to call the police. I walked
- 33:10straight out of the shower. I pulled the
- 33:12towel off from the rack to cover myself
- 33:13up. And I walked into my bedroom. There
- 33:16was nothing. It was all silent. It was
- 33:19totally still. If there had been
- 33:21somebody in the bathroom, I couldn't
- 33:22imagine how they had gotten out of there
- 33:24so quickly. So, I started to run through
- 33:26the house frantically, looking in every
- 33:27room. I checked the front door, which
- 33:29was still locked, and I picked up our
- 33:31phone in the kitchen to try to get a
- 33:32hold of my husband, who had a cell phone
- 33:33from work at the time. He drove straight
- 33:36back to the house where he found me
- 33:38still in the towel, trying my best to
- 33:41explain to him what I had just seen.
- 33:44Well, we only lived in that house for
- 33:46another year. After that, we redid the
- 33:48kitchen, put it back up on the market,
- 33:51and we still talk about our experiences
- 33:53in that place from time to time.
- 33:55Sometimes he makes me think that it's
- 33:57all in my mind, that maybe my eyes were
- 33:59playing tricks on me that day, and I was
- 34:00just paranoid being home alone knowing
- 34:02what happened there. But I know what I
- 34:05saw. I remember what I saw that morning.
- 34:08And it was real. It was another woman
- 34:10looking right at me in the shower.
- 34:17>> Oh my god.
- 34:19>> Just
- 34:21>> Oh, on. [laughter]
- 34:23>> Was that a listener writing?
- 34:26>> Is this a submission?
- 34:28>> They're crazy for the sinister. The
- 34:30things they send. I'm like I sit at home
- 34:32reading them like scanning them crying.
- 34:35[laughter]
- 34:35>> Yeah. Truly. Oh my gosh.
- 34:38>> Imagine walk me through this. Imagine
- 34:40being in your shower cuz you were so
- 34:41vulnerable.
- 34:42>> So vulnerable there.
- 34:43>> Nothing can happen to me in the shower.
- 34:45>> Yeah. Well, yeah. That's like es being
- 34:48in the shower especially cuz it's like
- 34:49if someone breaks in is the worst spot
- 34:51for you to be in.
- 34:52>> I'm wet. I'm slippery.
- 34:53>> You're naked. You don't
- 34:54>> I'm not I'm not in my best shape. Give
- 34:55me until the summer. Like
- 34:58>> you look bad. But [laughter] I think
- 35:00about that too. Glasses like I've
- 35:02started sleeping with like glasses next
- 35:04to my bed cuz I'm like what if something
- 35:05happens and I don't have and I can't see
- 35:07anything and like in the shower.
- 35:09>> Think about that. No, cuz when I take my
- 35:10contacts out at night, I don't even
- 35:11think about that. If I would have to run
- 35:13out in the middle of the night.
- 35:14>> Now that I have a baby, glasses on the
- 35:16bedside just anything happens, I throw
- 35:18them on. I'm good.
- 35:19>> But you know what's weird is that's not
- 35:21the first story I've heard about
- 35:22something peeking over a shower watching
- 35:25you
- 35:26>> while you shower. I hope doing that.
- 35:29Come on.
- 35:30>> I know. Some of them are like
- 35:32>> freaky.
- 35:34>> It's bad. It's really bad.
- 35:36>> But I Yeah, that one too. It's like
- 35:39I don't know because the the stuff was
- 35:41going missing. There's something about
- 35:43this woman go I imagine it's the woman
- 35:46cuz she thought she saw a woman
- 35:48>> who was like very curious about this
- 35:50other woman that moved into the house
- 35:51cuz why she
- 35:53>> she killed her husband over fears of
- 35:55infidelity.
- 35:55>> Oh my god. I wasn't even thinking about
- 35:56that. I think there's something you just
- 35:58gave me chills.
- 35:59>> I think there's something there about
- 36:00like but who's this woman?
- 36:01>> Yeah. Like there's a woman in my master
- 36:04>> brought her to my home.
- 36:05>> I wasn't even thinking about that
- 36:06because if you remember the description
- 36:07that she said, she was like she had wide
- 36:09eyes and her mouth was hung open like
- 36:11she was in shock almost like I can't
- 36:13believe there's a woman in my house.
- 36:15>> Yes.
- 36:18>> Get the gun. Get the gun.
- 36:20>> Oh my gosh. Oh,
- 36:21>> it's so bad.
- 36:22>> That's so scary. That's so scary. I um I
- 36:26was at a friend's engagement party once.
- 36:29This made me this made me think of this
- 36:31story,
- 36:31>> okay?
- 36:32>> Where she had moved. She was telling me
- 36:35the story of when she first moved into
- 36:36her boyfriend's house. So, he like was
- 36:39renting this house, had other roommates,
- 36:41but he loved this house. He lived there
- 36:42for so long. Like, a couple of roommates
- 36:44would come in and out. Someone would
- 36:46stay for a year, leave, they'd get
- 36:48another roommate. There's like always
- 36:49three people in this house, but he was
- 36:51he was always there the longest.
- 36:52>> Okay. And so he had like the biggest
- 36:54bedroom. She moves in to be with him.
- 36:57And one morning, like 2:00 in the
- 37:00morning, she wakes up and there's
- 37:01someone standing at the foot of her bed.
- 37:04>> Come on.
- 37:04>> And she just remembers that they're
- 37:06wearing what looks like a cowboy hat.
- 37:09It's just the outline of a person. And
- 37:12as she like gets up to look at him, he
- 37:15kind of like flashes and is gone.
- 37:18>> Wow. And she like and grabs her
- 37:21boyfriend who's sleeping soundly next to
- 37:22her. She starts freaking out. She's
- 37:24like, "There's someone in the house."
- 37:25Like I don't if I don't know if it was
- 37:26one of your roommates. They were in our
- 37:27room. Like someone was at the photo bed.
- 37:29And he just goes, "Oh, was it the guy
- 37:30with the cowboy hat?" And she's like,
- 37:33"Yes, how'd you know?" She And he goes,
- 37:35"Everyone who has moved into this house
- 37:37sees that guy.
- 37:38>> Stop."
- 37:38>> He's like, "Every single roommate has
- 37:40told me about that guy. We just we kind
- 37:42of like joke about it now. I didn't know
- 37:43that it would happen if you were here.
- 37:45But yeah, there's it's just like a the
- 37:46cowboy ghost that lives in this.
- 37:48>> How can you be so casual about that?
- 37:49>> So casual about it. Like both and both
- 37:51of them were telling me the story
- 37:52together and she's like cracking up
- 37:53about it cuz then it became like a
- 37:54thing. But
- 37:55>> oh my god,
- 37:56>> scared in that moment. But yeah, just
- 37:57like something that lives in the house
- 37:59that like people are seeing and oh my
- 38:01god.
- 38:01>> Do you find that comforting though that
- 38:03like other people like if you were to
- 38:04see a ghost and then somebody was like
- 38:05oh that's Todd. You know, like do you
- 38:07find that comforting being like okay I'm
- 38:09not alone in this. One, I'm not crazy,
- 38:10and two, at least it's showing itself to
- 38:13other people. Cuz if Ghost could really
- 38:15hurt us, I think we'd all be dead by
- 38:16now.
- 38:16>> I know. Yeah. There's part of me that's
- 38:18>> we'd be long gone.
- 38:20>> But if Todd didn't hurt anyone, you
- 38:21know, he just kind of shows up.
- 38:23>> But curious,
- 38:24>> especially because I think about that
- 38:25like when I I did like the ghost hunt
- 38:27with Two Girls One Ghost. I've gone to
- 38:28some other ghosty places. I'm kind of
- 38:30always the first person that's just like
- 38:32looking for stuff.
- 38:33>> Like it doesn't
- 38:34>> The stories really scare me, but I don't
- 38:36think that's ever stopped me, you know?
- 38:38Like I just kind of do it scared. So I
- 38:40think even if if so if someone was like,
- 38:42"Oh, this thing is in the house." I
- 38:44would maybe be scared of it, but I don't
- 38:46think that would stop me from like being
- 38:47very curious about it.
- 38:48>> Interesting. I do get scared. I'm too
- 38:50scared to do almost anything
- 38:51>> really.
- 38:52>> I can't do I can barely do any in
- 38:53person. And Sue always wants to do stuff
- 38:55like in person. She's like, "We should
- 38:56go ghost hunting." And I'm like,
- 38:58>> "I can't go to a CVS. [laughter]
- 39:00>> Like
- 39:01>> I can't make it to the Walgreens.
- 39:03>> I can't even buy my own robbitasen."
- 39:05Actually speaking, I just want to share
- 39:07this story real quick cuz you reminded
- 39:08me of this as you were just saying it.
- 39:10She was at like I guess this would be
- 39:12like a not a wedding, but kind of like
- 39:15what's the thing that happens before a
- 39:16wedding that's not a bachelor party,
- 39:17>> rehearsal dinner?
- 39:18>> No. No. I guess
- 39:20>> maybe it was just like a friends
- 39:21celebration before the wedding and it
- 39:23was way up in like Montana or like some
- 39:24place remote and it was like most of
- 39:27like her then boyfriend's friends. So,
- 39:29she didn't know a lot of people there.
- 39:30So, it's a mix of guys and girls at this
- 39:32place, this like cottage, giant cottage
- 39:34they're renting. And they decided
- 39:35they're all going to go to like this
- 39:37lake, which was like really far, like an
- 39:38hour away. She wasn't feeling great, so
- 39:40she was going to hang back at the house.
- 39:42So, while she was there, she called. I
- 39:44remember her calling me about this, and
- 39:45I still get chills thinking about it.
- 39:46She was like getting out of the shower
- 39:48and looked through the window from the
- 39:50upstairs bathroom to the backyard. One
- 39:52of the guys who was like in the friend
- 39:54group who had a real bad vibe was back
- 39:57and like on the property like almost
- 39:59like he had come back to like I don't
- 40:02know do something because that's the
- 40:04thing is like he this is the scary part
- 40:06is she's like what the hell is he doing
- 40:07here and she like covers herself up goes
- 40:09downstairs goes outside nobody ever came
- 40:12in the house and like nobody's in the
- 40:13backyard but she very clearly saw him
- 40:15like lingering in the backyard
- 40:17>> calls her boyfriend after that and she
- 40:20was like hey is this guy like so and So
- 40:22she's like, "He left you guys down at
- 40:23the lake." And they were like, "Oh, he
- 40:25took off for like a little bit, but he
- 40:26didn't come back to the house." She goes
- 40:29out of her way that night when like
- 40:30everyone's back to like work up the
- 40:32nerve and question him. And she was
- 40:33like, "Hey, um, I'll call him Jeremy."
- 40:35She was like, "Jeremy, were were you
- 40:37here today? Were you at the house?" He
- 40:39says, "No, I was at the lake all day."
- 40:44>> But that's scary. It's scarier. The deni
- 40:46the denying is scarier because she knows
- 40:48what she saw.
- 40:49>> Yeah. And then everyone like not
- 40:50everyone but like her boyfriend was like
- 40:52maybe it was like
- 40:53>> in your head and she's like no no I saw
- 40:57him. He was in the backyard.
- 40:59>> Yeah. Jeremy was in the backyard.
- 41:00>> Jere So Jeremy was in the backyard.
- 41:02>> Yeah. Oh
- 41:03>> cuz like what if why deny it? Why was he
- 41:05there knowing that she was the only girl
- 41:07who hung back was going to be at the
- 41:09house alone? My questions.
- 41:11>> There's sickos out there cuz there's
- 41:12absolute sickos that walk among us.
- 41:17Anyways, I have another story for you.
- 41:19>> I can't wait to hear it.
- 41:20>> All righty. Let's see.
- 41:21>> You got my nervous system at a 10.
- 41:23>> Oh, me.
- 41:24>> My blood pressure is crying.
- 41:25>> Are you kidding me? You are stressing me
- 41:28out so much. Every time you bring a
- 41:29story, it's like the worst thing I've
- 41:30ever heard in my entire life.
- 41:31>> I I have a second one for you that I
- 41:33think is worse than that one, to be
- 41:34honest.
- 41:35>> Really? Okay. So, I have I have a couple
- 41:37ones on the shorter end that I want
- 41:39>> Oh, okay.
- 41:40>> So, this one is another Reddit story. It
- 41:43comes from a thread in Paranormal where
- 41:46people were asking about like the
- 41:47scariest thing that your kid ever said
- 41:49to you or saw and it comes from a user.
- 41:52The usernames are so unhinged on this
- 41:54whole episode, but it this is badass
- 41:55with two kids. It's from four months
- 41:58ago.
- 41:59>> I like to think that Reddit generated
- 42:01that for them.
- 42:02>> I know. [laughter] Yeah. Yeah.
- 42:03>> It's like one of the auto usernames have
- 42:05any control over it. So this so fat ass
- 42:08with two kids writes, "When I was a few
- 42:10months pregnant with my daughter, before
- 42:12we knew that she was a girl, I was
- 42:13folding laundry while my son watched
- 42:15Care Bears in the living room. And out
- 42:17of nowhere, he starts sobbing. I ask him
- 42:21what's wrong, and he starts asking me
- 42:23where his baby's sister was." He was 2
- 42:26and a half at the time, and he had a
- 42:28slight speech delay, but as he was
- 42:31asking me these questions, he started
- 42:32speaking a lot more clearly. He started
- 42:35trying to tell me that they hurt his
- 42:38baby sister, that they hurt her hands
- 42:40and her legs. And when I asked what he
- 42:43was talking about, he told me that his
- 42:45old mommy, his bad mommy, they hurt him
- 42:48and his sister, and everything went
- 42:50black and they chose to come to me and
- 42:53my husband. I started freaking out. I'm
- 42:56not super religious or really into
- 42:58anything spiritual like that. And also,
- 43:00I was hormonal and pregnant. And I was
- 43:02worried that my son had been exposed to
- 43:05something strange or scary. But I was a
- 43:07stay-at-home mom. He was never really
- 43:09out of my sight, not even when my
- 43:10parents would babysit him at that age.
- 43:12So, I kind of pocketed that experience,
- 43:15put it in the back of my mind. Now, when
- 43:17my daughter was born, my son was
- 43:20obsessed with her. He would constantly
- 43:22check up on her. He would count all of
- 43:23her fingers and toes constantly. And my
- 43:26daughter was an incredibly clingy baby.
- 43:28She would only fall asleep in my arms.
- 43:30If I left the room at all for that first
- 43:32year, she would start screaming bloody
- 43:34murder. When she started talking in full
- 43:36sentences at around 2 years old, she was
- 43:38a bit more advanced than her brother.
- 43:40She started calling me her good mama.
- 43:43And she would say it constantly. When I
- 43:45would ask why she was calling me that,
- 43:47she would say that I wasn't bad. I
- 43:49didn't hurt her like her bad mama. I'm
- 43:52telling y'all, hearing that come out of
- 43:54her mouth almost 3 years after my son
- 43:57had his tiny freakout, knowing that I'd
- 43:59never brought it up around her or made a
- 44:01point to tell anyone else about it other
- 44:03than my husband. It freaked me out. I
- 44:06started crying really hard. It just
- 44:08really messed with my head because it
- 44:09was coming from both my kids. I don't
- 44:11know if my son ever talked to his baby
- 44:13sister about their bad mama. They don't
- 44:16talk about it now at all since they're
- 44:19older, but I do go a little easy on them
- 44:21and I spoil them a little bit too much
- 44:24just in case there's truth to what
- 44:26they've told me.
- 44:28You know what's going to make me cry?
- 44:30>> What?
- 44:31>> That they founded each other in the next
- 44:33life. Stop.
- 44:35>> Like that to me is so
- 44:38>> Isn't that a part of like the
- 44:39reincarnation like theory though? It's
- 44:40like you're still with the same mix of
- 44:42people but like your sister like became
- 44:44your mom or something. I get those Tik
- 44:45Toks that are like
- 44:48me and my son in every lifetime.
- 44:52[gasps]
- 44:52>> Oh god.
- 44:53>> And I'm going to have my lawyer reach
- 44:54out to every single person that posts
- 44:56one of those cuz it's for emotional
- 44:58damages. Like it's so crazy. I get so
- 45:00worked up over those. But it is the idea
- 45:02of like like those Tik Toks that are
- 45:03like us in every lifetime, me and my
- 45:05sister in lifetime.
- 45:06>> I know. So I haven't thought about
- 45:07reincarnation in a minute. But you're
- 45:08also very appropriately dressed for like
- 45:10an other mommy scenario right now.
- 45:12>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. which is why I wanted
- 45:13to do that one.
- 45:14>> Was that the inspiration for the
- 45:15costume? Which came first? We have Bad
- 45:17Mommy.
- 45:18>> I know.
- 45:19>> I don't know about that. It's scary that
- 45:21it happened with two of them.
- 45:22>> I know. Which makes me think, but I Oh
- 45:24my god, what a blessing that you just
- 45:27have each other in your next life, too.
- 45:28>> Do you believe in reincarnation?
- 45:31>> I sometimes do reincarnation.
- 45:34>> There's a lot of very convincing past
- 45:37life stories out there. I've done past
- 45:39life regression. I definitely
- 45:42>> like covered it as an episode or you did
- 45:43it with like
- 45:44>> No, I did it. I went and I did a past
- 45:46life progression and you know my
- 45:47favorite part of this whole experience
- 45:48of standing in the bathroom in line to
- 45:50we're like going to go in and do the
- 45:52past life progression. I'm waiting in
- 45:53line in the bathroom and the guy in
- 45:54front of me is like you know I've done
- 45:56this before and I was like oh yeah you
- 45:59know what did what's it like? What did
- 46:01you see? He's like, "I was on the
- 46:03mountain with Moses when he got the Ten
- 46:06Commandments." And I was like, "You,
- 46:10>> you know,
- 46:10>> like a Santa Monica man bun guy." Now,
- 46:12>> girl, things I hear in the line at the
- 46:137-Eleven. [laughter]
- 46:15>> I was on the mountain with Moses.
- 46:17>> Yeah. I was like, it's always that
- 46:18they're always I was Cleopatra. You
- 46:21know, it's always something amazing in
- 46:22their past life. But what I will say is
- 46:24so I started doing it,
- 46:26>> you know, they have you go through the
- 46:27the past life regression. You're like
- 46:28doing this really intense meditation. I
- 46:30wasn't getting anything
- 46:33>> and then all of a sudden I started
- 46:36walking in the woods and I could tell it
- 46:38was a really long time ago and I've
- 46:40never had a meditation where sights just
- 46:43kind of take over my minds.
- 46:45>> I don't think I've had that either.
- 46:46>> So I was like, "Oh, maybe there is
- 46:48something to this. Maybe I really did
- 46:49reach something in my subconscious."
- 46:50Like I don't know. It was the woods. I
- 46:52was carrying sticks.
- 46:53>> Are you sure that you were a person in
- 46:55this? Because I always thought about
- 46:56that with past lives as I'm like, am I
- 46:57sure I was a person in every life? What
- 47:00if I was an animal?
- 47:00>> Do you feel like if you were an animal,
- 47:02which animal do you think you were in a
- 47:03past life?
- 47:03>> Wait, have we done this? The psychology
- 47:05trick of animals. We did do this, didn't
- 47:06we?
- 47:07>> I maybe we did. It's the
- 47:08>> three questions.
- 47:09>> Say the three questions cuz I I want the
- 47:11listeners at home to do this right now.
- 47:12>> Okay, so yes, everyone do this right
- 47:14now. Pick an animal. The first animal
- 47:16that comes to mind. Say yours out loud.
- 47:18>> Pig.
- 47:20[laughter]
- 47:20>> All right. Pick the second animal that
- 47:22comes to mind.
- 47:23>> My dog Fitzgerald.
- 47:24>> Okay. So, dog.
- 47:25>> Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. And then
- 47:27>> a standard poodle. [laughter]
- 47:28>> Aus poodle.
- 47:30>> The third animal that comes to your
- 47:31mind,
- 47:32>> a cardinal.
- 47:33>> So the psychology trick behind it or
- 47:36really the the thought is that the first
- 47:38animal that you chose is how you see
- 47:40yourself like in a very public
- 47:42[laughter] facing way, which is crazy.
- 47:45>> Just a little slap pig. [laughter]
- 47:48>> The second one that you chose is how you
- 47:50believe other people see you and
- 47:52perceive you
- 47:52>> as a beautiful standard poodle.
- 47:54>> Exactly. But the third one is the
- 47:56deepest layer. That is who you really
- 47:58believe yourself to be deep down.
- 48:00>> A cardinal.
- 48:01>> I wonder what that means.
- 48:03>> I did this while camping, too, and
- 48:04people had wild ones. Most people ended
- 48:06up being something between like a boar,
- 48:09a pig, a hog.
- 48:11>> Yeah, a boar.
- 48:12>> I'm the only one that's hogging it up.
- 48:13>> No, no, no, not at all. And then some
- 48:15people were like a penguin.
- 48:16>> Oh, interesting. Okay.
- 48:17>> I'm like, huh. Stoic. Majestic. Even
- 48:19>> majestic. Yeah, very majestic. Ooh,
- 48:22that's interesting. What do you What
- 48:23were yours? I don't really remember
- 48:24because I feel like it's tainted now
- 48:26because I I like administer the psych
- 48:28trick. So, I'm like, can I really choose
- 48:30like at at my most base level, but I
- 48:32feel like somewhere in there,
- 48:34>> I think the first one I did like a tiger
- 48:36or something like some kind of a lion,
- 48:38but I think I ended up as like a
- 48:40squirrel. [laughter]
- 48:40>> Yeah.

- 50:41This episode is brought to you by sleepd
- 50:43doctor. Here is something that I used to
- 50:45tell myself. Once the baby sleeps
- 50:47through the night, I'm going to feel
- 50:49normal again. And then he started
- 50:51sleeping through the night and I still
- 50:52woke up very very very tired. If you eat
- 50:55well, stay active and still feel drained
- 50:57in the mornings. The issue might not be
- 50:59how long you're sleeping. It might be
- 51:01the quality. Sleep Doctor helps you
- 51:03figure that out starting with a clinical
- 51:05grade home sleep study. The home sleep
- 51:07study is a simple alternative to a sleep
- 51:10lab and can be completed in your own bed
- 51:12over one night. No sterile clinic, no
- 51:15wires, just real answers and a clear
- 51:17path towards actually waking up rested.
- 51:19I've noticed that sometimes I'll sleep
- 51:21for 9 hours a night and still wake up
- 51:23not feeling great. For me, quality is
- 51:25much more important. Having a good
- 51:26routine before I go to bed, like making
- 51:28sure the lights are off, making sure I'm
- 51:30not staring into my phone for two hours
- 51:31before I try to fall asleep. All that
- 51:33stuff really adds up to having a much
- 51:35better night's sleep. Visit

- 51:47>> Shall we shift into the story?
- 51:48>> Please do.
- 51:49>> May you hold my hold my cane again?
- 51:50Thank you. My brittle hands, they need
- 51:52all the strength to hold this.
- 51:55So, this is a story that is from tour
- 51:58that was submitted to us. I am bringing
- 51:59it to you because it is truly one of the
- 52:01scarier ones I've come across.
- 52:02>> Oh my gosh.
- 52:03>> I don't really tell this story to many
- 52:05people kind of because people look at
- 52:07you strange when something awful like
- 52:09this happens to you, but also because
- 52:11it's a scary thing to remember. Just for
- 52:13the purposes of sending it to you,
- 52:14please do keep my name anonymous on this
- 52:17one. Back in 2017, I had just started my
- 52:19senior year in high school, and I was
- 52:21trying to get a job at a movie theater
- 52:23that was near my house to make a little
- 52:24extra money. This place was definitely a
- 52:26bit rundown. It was a smaller theater,
- 52:28kind of like an indie, and it was owned
- 52:30by this older couple who really, really
- 52:32needed the help at the time. I think it
- 52:34was a weekend. I remember I rode my bike
- 52:36over there because I didn't have a car
- 52:38yet and just asked the manager if they
- 52:40had any job openings and he pretty much
- 52:42hired me on the spot. They needed some
- 52:44extra help with really every part of the
- 52:46theater, like the snack bar, doing
- 52:48tickets, but they also really needed
- 52:50someone who could help them out in the
- 52:52projection booth to play the movies. The
- 52:54manager who interviewed me said
- 52:56something about the person who had been
- 52:57doing it basically stopped showing up
- 52:59for work out of nowhere, and I guess
- 53:00they'd quit. And the only other people
- 53:03who knew how to do it were that one
- 53:05manager and the owners. But honestly, I
- 53:08was fine to learn the ropes and learn
- 53:09how to work the projector. I really
- 53:11didn't care. I just needed any sort of
- 53:13job as an after school thing. But
- 53:15actually, working the projector, it
- 53:17isn't really that hard at all. The only
- 53:19thing that sucks about it is that you're
- 53:20pretty much alone up there the whole
- 53:22shift in that one room. So, you do get
- 53:24bored. Also, the theater was old. So,
- 53:27the projectionist booth had like no heat
- 53:29and it was small and cramped. But, you
- 53:32do get to chill up there. You can watch
- 53:34the movies from the booth, which is
- 53:35cool. It's just that the booth is not
- 53:38what makes this story scary. It's what I
- 53:40saw in that theater one night. It was 3
- 53:43weeks into me working there where this
- 53:45woman started coming in every single
- 53:48night. Like sometimes she would buy a
- 53:49ticket and sometimes she would just
- 53:51stand by the arcade corner. And when I
- 53:53tell you she had an eerie vibe to her,
- 53:55there was something off about this
- 53:57woman. She looked maybe middle-ag, sort
- 53:59of tired every time I saw her. And I
- 54:02only noticed her after maybe the third
- 54:03time of seeing her in our lobby that she
- 54:06was always wearing the same clothes. I
- 54:09wasn't sure if maybe she might have been
- 54:10homeless or something else could have
- 54:11been going on there, but the thing that
- 54:13stuck out about her when you looked at
- 54:15her was her hair. It was this wild
- 54:20frizzy mane and it also sort of covered
- 54:22most of her face. But if you actually
- 54:24locked eyes with her, she had these dark
- 54:27sunken eyes that were always really wide
- 54:29anytime I talked to her when she was
- 54:30buying a ticket. Just not your everyday
- 54:32kind of person. Not sure how else to
- 54:34describe her. I usually only worked with
- 54:36this one other girl, and we both knew
- 54:38this woman had something wrong with her,
- 54:40just from the way that she would walk
- 54:42about the theater. And I actually had
- 54:43one weird encounter with her in our
- 54:45parking lot before all of this went
- 54:46down. I always locked my bike up behind
- 54:49the building. And there was this one
- 54:51night where I wasn't the closer, so I
- 54:54was going to get to head out a bit
- 54:55early. And I went through the back exit
- 54:57from our office right at around 10:00
- 54:58p.m. And while I was out there getting
- 55:00my bike unlocked, I thought I heard
- 55:02something. So, I remember looking up
- 55:04just to make sure that everything was
- 55:06good. But it turns out something was
- 55:08very wrong here. Our parking lot was
- 55:10deep and way out in the distance of it
- 55:12in the dark where the grass meets the
- 55:14pavement was that woman standing there
- 55:18watching me. It was honestly too dark
- 55:20and too far for me to tell if she was
- 55:22actually facing me or if her back was
- 55:24turned to me and she was just standing
- 55:25there. But it was her. I could tell it
- 55:29was her from the hair alone. It was like
- 55:31she was stalking the building or
- 55:32something.
- 55:34That one was a freaky thing to see, but
- 55:36really I just got on my bike and took
- 55:38off without looking back. And I did
- 55:40think about her on my way home. But this
- 55:42wasn't going to be my last experience
- 55:44with this woman because something went
- 55:46down in our theater that one night that
- 55:49is easily the scariest thing that has
- 55:51ever happened to me. So, it was a Friday
- 55:53night when this happened, and I was
- 55:55working the late shift, which basically
- 55:57means that I'm going to be working the
- 55:59projectionist booth, and I am the closer
- 56:01cuz our latest showing is at 11:00 p.m.,
- 56:04but nobody really ever comes to see
- 56:05those, but we still had to run the movie
- 56:07because of some contract that we had
- 56:09with Disney or something like that. I'm
- 56:10not really sure. Usually, I kind of just
- 56:13sit around in the booth on my phone. I
- 56:14was texting people. I'd play games. And
- 56:17no one really comes up to check on you.
- 56:19So sometimes you just fall asleep cuz
- 56:21it's slow. So this one night we were
- 56:24playing a very late night screening and
- 56:26I was bored. So I started watching the
- 56:27movie in my chair until I accidentally
- 56:30fell asleep. When I woke up I got that
- 56:32really panicky feeling like if you're
- 56:35somewhere really late that you're not
- 56:36supposed to be. Also, I hadn't done
- 56:39anything to close up and we were way
- 56:40past closing. It was like 1:00 or
- 56:42something in the morning. I hadn't
- 56:44locked up. I hadn't cleaned the theater.
- 56:45So, I got up from my chair and I was
- 56:47going to head down from the booth to the
- 56:49theater to flip on the lights and just
- 56:50do a spot check for cleaning and then
- 56:51lock up. But before I even went
- 56:54downstairs, I see something through the
- 56:56window while looking down at the theater
- 56:59that still gives me chills to this day.
- 57:02Just from the silhouette of the hair, I
- 57:03could tell you it was that woman. that
- 57:06same frizzy wild hair from behind, by
- 57:10the way, because she was sat all alone
- 57:12in the center of the theater seats and
- 57:13was facing towards the screen, which was
- 57:16playing nothing. I know for a fact she
- 57:19wasn't in the theater when the movie
- 57:21started and before I fell asleep. Plus,
- 57:23we were closed, so I was annoyed at this
- 57:25point and started to rush down from the
- 57:27booth to ask her to leave the theater. I
- 57:30got my way down and kind of stormed into
- 57:32the entryway of the theater to be like,
- 57:34"Ma'am, you have to leave. We are
- 57:35closed." But the second I got in there,
- 57:37there was nobody in the audience. And I
- 57:39got down there pretty fast, so I took a
- 57:42second and I looked around all over the
- 57:44theater at different seats. She'd be
- 57:45hard to miss. But she definitely wasn't
- 57:48in the room anymore. Maybe she ran out
- 57:50through the emergency exit near the
- 57:52screen when she heard me coming. No
- 57:53idea. But at least the problem was
- 57:55solved. She was gone. So I walked back
- 57:59up the entrance I just came through to
- 58:00flip the lights on. But literally the
- 58:02second I turned around, I heard
- 58:04something in the theater. It was the
- 58:06sound of one of our theater seats
- 58:09flipping up to its upright position. And
- 58:11they don't do that on their own.
- 58:14So this was my confirmation. That woman
- 58:18was still in the theater. And at this
- 58:20point, I was creeped out, but mostly
- 58:22pissed. I remember turning back around
- 58:24and I went and stood in front of the
- 58:26seats again. And I said something like,
- 58:28"Listen, ma'am. I know you're here and I
- 58:31need you to leave right now. We are past
- 58:33closing." I didn't want to lose my
- 58:35confidence in saying it, but the more
- 58:37time that passed in the silence of
- 58:39waiting for a reply or to see her, the
- 58:41eerier it felt just standing there. But
- 58:44what was I going to do? I wasn't going
- 58:45to back down because at this point, this
- 58:46woman was hiding in our building. So, I
- 58:48turned and started walking up the stairs
- 58:50to check each row of the seats. And I
- 58:52was heading towards the back row. I was
- 58:55checking and checking and each time I
- 58:57didn't see her down a row, I was getting
- 58:58more and more nervous. Like the thought
- 59:00of all of this was crashing down on me
- 59:03just how creepy it was. Like this woman
- 59:05was hiding in our movie theater. So,
- 59:08while I was checking and made it to the
- 59:09very back row, I swear to God, I heard a
- 59:12noise that told me I had to get the hell
- 59:14out of that room. It was like a really
- 59:17quick series of thuds on the ground,
- 59:19like she was crawling through our
- 59:21theater on all fours.
- 59:24I wasn't really confident to confront
- 59:26her anymore. Something about all of this
- 59:28was getting way too creepy for me. This
- 59:30woman who I definitely knew was here was
- 59:32basically playing hideand seek with me
- 59:34in the dark of this theater. And I
- 59:37started to freak out. Like, it's not
- 59:39worth confronting some unstable woman
- 59:41when I was alone at work. So, at this
- 59:43point, I was just going to get the hell
- 59:44out of there, call the cops. But that's
- 59:46when I saw her. If you can imagine it,
- 59:49I'm standing near the back rows of the
- 59:50seats. So, I turned to get down the
- 59:52stairs from the aisle and go out through
- 59:54the exit in the hallway, get out of the
- 59:56theater. But when I turned around to go
- 59:58down those stairs, the woman crawls out
- 1:00:01from the aisle from [music] the front
- 1:00:02seats on all fours and turned her head
- 1:00:04up towards me. This had to be one of the
- 1:00:08scariest things I think I'd ever seen.
- 1:00:09Like, the full weight of being alone in
- 1:00:11this place just hit. I couldn't even see
- 1:00:14her face cuz the theater screen was
- 1:00:16still on and the lights in the theater
- 1:00:18were off. I never got a chance to flip
- 1:00:21them on. So, I'm just seeing this woman
- 1:00:23on her hands and knees, the silhouette
- 1:00:25of her hair facing me. All I could think
- 1:00:28to do was run, get [music] out as fast
- 1:00:30as I can. So, I start sprinting through
- 1:00:33the rows of the seats next to me to get
- 1:00:35to the left side of the theater and make
- 1:00:36a run for it to get to the emergency
- 1:00:38exit. And I kid you not, while I was
- 1:00:40running, I never looked back to actually
- 1:00:42see her. I could hear her get to her
- 1:00:45feet and start chasing me.
- 1:00:48Scariest feeling I had ever felt in my
- 1:00:51life. You can't even think about what
- 1:00:53happens. You just got to go. I ran into
- 1:00:55the dark area of the emergency exit and
- 1:00:57slammed myself against the door to get
- 1:00:59it open and took off as fast as I could.
- 1:01:01I didn't grab my bike since it was
- 1:01:03locked up and I was not going to pull my
- 1:01:05keys out or something like that. When I
- 1:01:07got to the furthest part of the parking
- 1:01:08lot, that's when I glanced behind me for
- 1:01:10the first time to see if she was chasing
- 1:01:12me. but she wasn't there, which
- 1:01:15immediately made me slow down since I
- 1:01:17was flying on adrenaline at this point.
- 1:01:20I kept darting my eyes from left to
- 1:01:22right across the back parking lot
- 1:01:23looking for the woman. But to me, it
- 1:01:25seemed like she had never left the
- 1:01:27theater behind me. She was still in
- 1:01:29there. To pretty much tell you how my
- 1:01:31experience ended, I kept running until I
- 1:01:33got to a 7-Eleven that was up the street
- 1:01:35and called 911. And I actually didn't go
- 1:01:38back to the theater that night. They
- 1:01:39sent one officer to the movie theater
- 1:01:41and another met with me at 7-Eleven to
- 1:01:43ask me exactly what happened. I ended up
- 1:01:46giving him my key cuz he said that he
- 1:01:48was going to go back to meet up with the
- 1:01:49other officer once they could get a hold
- 1:01:51of the owners and call them down just to
- 1:01:54clear the whole theater and make sure
- 1:01:55nobody was still in there. And I
- 1:01:58actually never went back to that theater
- 1:01:59at all. After [snorts] they called my
- 1:02:02parents that night, my mom came and
- 1:02:04picked me up and spoke with the officers
- 1:02:06about what I just saw. She didn't let me
- 1:02:08work there after that. But [snorts] the
- 1:02:10most unsettling part of the story is
- 1:02:12that they never found her. We had those
- 1:02:15security cameras in our lobby that
- 1:02:17caught her walking in very late at
- 1:02:19night, but they never saw her leaving
- 1:02:21the theater. So, cops assumed maybe
- 1:02:24after I saw her and I ran out, she
- 1:02:27probably ran to another part of the
- 1:02:28building and just slipped out through a
- 1:02:30side door. I really don't know how she
- 1:02:32got out, but if you want to know
- 1:02:34something sick about this, the next
- 1:02:35morning after all this happened, my mom
- 1:02:38got a call from the officer who I met
- 1:02:40the night before when I gave my
- 1:02:42interview and asked about something
- 1:02:45strange that he found in the theater.
- 1:02:47There was a large rolled up clump of
- 1:02:50hair found left on the carpet and he
- 1:02:54said it looked like it came from that
- 1:02:56woman and that maybe she had ripped it
- 1:02:58out of her own head.
- 1:03:02I have no idea what that could have
- 1:03:05been, but to me it was scarier to think
- 1:03:07just how unstable or dangerous that
- 1:03:09woman actually might have been. Now, if
- 1:03:11I close my eyes to picture her, the only
- 1:03:13thing that comes up is that silhouette,
- 1:03:15that frizzy wild hair and those sunken
- 1:03:17wild eyes and that horrible creepy sound
- 1:03:21of her crawling in the movie theater on
- 1:03:23all fours. I will never forget how that
- 1:03:26sounded.
- 1:03:30She's with that guy in the tunnel,
- 1:03:32>> you know,
- 1:03:32>> from the first story. Great minds think
- 1:03:34alike. [laughter]
- 1:03:35>> Tunnel people.
- 1:03:36>> The tunnel people. Wow. Can you like
- 1:03:41someone crawling after you? That's the
- 1:03:43thing. Cuz at first I was like I think
- 1:03:46cutting her a little bit of slack like
- 1:03:48oh she looks tired.
- 1:03:50>> She lost her contacts.
- 1:03:51>> She's tired. She's lost she's on all
- 1:03:53fours. She lost her contacts.
- 1:03:54>> We've all been there. That's me in the
- 1:03:56first like six months of postpartum.
- 1:03:58>> I peed on my diet. I'm ripping the hair
- 1:04:00out of my own head.
- 1:04:01>> Oh my gosh. But to cuz it was like 1 in
- 1:04:04the morning when they woke up still at
- 1:04:05the theater and she was still there just
- 1:04:06sitting.
- 1:04:07>> Part of that's part of what got me too
- 1:04:08was like you ever had that feeling where
- 1:04:10it's almost like being at school after
- 1:04:12school is over almost and you're there
- 1:04:14and it's just quiet and still and kind
- 1:04:16of like ooh I feel like I shouldn't be
- 1:04:19in this place kind of. That's what it
- 1:04:20felt like to me. Or like you're doing
- 1:04:22something wrong. you've overslept and
- 1:04:24you're like, "Oh, wait. This happened to
- 1:04:25me actually when I so I've had a million
- 1:04:27jobs. I used to work as a pool boy and
- 1:04:28my hours I know.
- 1:04:30>> Of course you did.
- 1:04:31>> I used to work as a pool boy for this
- 1:04:32apartment complex and my hours were
- 1:04:34really short. It was like a summer job.
- 1:04:35It was like 6:00 to 9. But
- 1:04:37>> yeah,
- 1:04:38>> allegedly sometimes since I had a
- 1:04:40skeleton key to everything, if I was
- 1:04:42done cleaning the pool, I would go into
- 1:04:44the one of the model units cuz they were
- 1:04:45furnished and I would take a nap in the
- 1:04:48bed
- 1:04:49>> like under the sheets and everything.
- 1:04:50>> Oh my gosh. So, one night I did that
- 1:04:52>> the unit they use to show other people.
- 1:04:54>> Yeah. It's like the guest room to be
- 1:04:56like, "Come to, can you believe this?
- 1:04:58Come to Alterara, the property of the
- 1:04:59future."
- 1:05:00>> Oh my gosh.
- 1:05:00>> But I was in that bed and I overslept
- 1:05:04and I woke up and it was like 2:00 a.m.
- 1:05:06I had I'd almost done an overnight in
- 1:05:08the guest unit and I was like, "Oh my
- 1:05:09god, the pool's not I had like a
- 1:05:11duplicate experience. I was like, "The
- 1:05:12pool's not locked up.
- 1:05:14>> I'm in this unit. All the lights are
- 1:05:15on." [laughter]
- 1:05:16>> It was crazy.
- 1:05:18>> That's really spook. That is spooky.
- 1:05:19Okay, I have one more that I'm gonna
- 1:05:21read.
- 1:05:21>> Should I hold this cane? You really Now
- 1:05:23it's kind of taking on a different thing
- 1:05:24with the cane. You looked a bit like
- 1:05:25Willy Wonka for a second.
- 1:05:26>> Yes, it does have a Wonka. I mean, it is
- 1:05:27like maroon.
- 1:05:28>> It is. It really goes I mean, the color
- 1:05:30scheme is really working with you.
- 1:05:31>> Okay, this is a a quick little short
- 1:05:33one. So, this is another one from Reddit
- 1:05:35posted 5 years ago by user Big Bull
- 1:05:38Thunder. And it goes, I think this is
- 1:05:40from another paranormal thread. I can't
- 1:05:42remember exactly which one it came from,
- 1:05:44but it goes, "This story sounds crazy,
- 1:05:46but is 100% true. At least my narrative.
- 1:05:49I used to live in a mobile home trailer
- 1:05:51park growing up. There was a hallway
- 1:05:52that went from one end of the trailer to
- 1:05:54the other with the bedrooms coming off
- 1:05:56of it on one side. My bed was on the
- 1:05:59wall opposite the hallway so I could see
- 1:06:01into the hallway but not down either
- 1:06:03side. When I was about maybe six or
- 1:06:06seven years old, if I stayed awake after
- 1:06:09my dad went to sleep and stared at the
- 1:06:12hallway, I would start to be able to
- 1:06:14make out a hand stretching from beyond
- 1:06:16the doorway in the hall from the right
- 1:06:18side of the door to the left.
- 1:06:20>> The longer I looked, the more the hand
- 1:06:22would appear until eventually over the
- 1:06:24course of a few minutes, I could see a
- 1:06:27red and white striped shirt or sweater
- 1:06:31sleeve. If I continued to stare after a
- 1:06:33longer period, the body of a boy would
- 1:06:35appear in the doorway. I specifically
- 1:06:38remember hiding under the covers most
- 1:06:39nights when this would happen, mostly at
- 1:06:41the first sight of him. I was never
- 1:06:43antagonized further than him, slowly
- 1:06:45moving, facing my bed from the right
- 1:06:47side of the door to the left. And if I
- 1:06:49continued to stare, he would eventually
- 1:06:52disappear beyond the left threshold. We
- 1:06:55moved out of that trailer into a home
- 1:06:56when I had just turned 9, and that was
- 1:06:58the end of it. I never really thought
- 1:07:00about it and I never told my dad or
- 1:07:02anyone else about it because by that
- 1:07:04time I had already just chocked it up to
- 1:07:06seeing things as a kid and I just
- 1:07:08thought it was my imagination.
- 1:07:10About 15 or 20 years later, my dad and I
- 1:07:13were talking about his best friend that
- 1:07:14had lived next door but had sadly just
- 1:07:17passed away. We started talking about
- 1:07:19our trailer and the older lady that had
- 1:07:21moved in after us. And my dad said
- 1:07:23something like, "Funny enough, but that
- 1:07:25friend told me a few years ago that the
- 1:07:28woman used to see a little boy in a red
- 1:07:30and white shirt, like a ghost or
- 1:07:32something." I was obviously taken aback
- 1:07:35and I told him about what I had seen
- 1:07:37almost every night for a few years. And
- 1:07:39we were both just a bit shocked at what
- 1:07:42this might mean. Never experienced
- 1:07:44anything else, but that completely
- 1:07:47stumps me.
- 1:07:49Oh, it's the confirmation of not one
- 1:07:52sighting like something that you think
- 1:07:53might have been your imagination or like
- 1:07:55just when you in your head when you were
- 1:07:56a little kid, but then having the
- 1:07:58confirmation of like, no, someone else
- 1:08:00saw that. Have you had anything like
- 1:08:02that happen to you?
- 1:08:03>> Any like kind of confirmation where
- 1:08:05you're like, maybe that wasn't what I
- 1:08:07thought it was, or maybe I didn't really
- 1:08:08see that. And then somebody was like,
- 1:08:09no, no, no, that actually happened.
- 1:08:12>> Personally, I don't know. I talk about
- 1:08:14it all the time, but the ghost hunt that
- 1:08:16we did with that I did with Two Girls
- 1:08:17One Ghost was
- 1:08:18>> Where did you do that, by the way?
- 1:08:19>> We did it at the Henry Derby House in
- 1:08:21Salem. It's the most haunted Airbnb you
- 1:08:23can rent in Salem.
- 1:08:25>> Coincidentally, also the most expensive.
- 1:08:26>> I know. [laughter]
- 1:08:28Don't even get me started. No, but it's
- 1:08:30a it's a great place. But we did part
- 1:08:32one on my channel, part two on their
- 1:08:34channel. Oh, cool.
- 1:08:35>> And while we were there, we had a really
- 1:08:38confusing experience with what felt like
- 1:08:40a ghost in the house. We just like
- 1:08:41couldn't figure it out. But there was
- 1:08:43>> What do you mean?
- 1:08:44>> It led us to the third floor of the
- 1:08:46house and it kept like we kept trying to
- 1:08:48figure out where the most where the most
- 1:08:52uh was.
- 1:08:53>> Mhm.
- 1:08:54>> And the most activity was right outside
- 1:08:56of the this little linen closet. It just
- 1:08:59kept like nothing in the basement,
- 1:09:01nothing on the first floor, nothing on
- 1:09:03the second floor. Finally went up to the
- 1:09:05third floor. Started feeling a little
- 1:09:06bit of movement. The like little ghost
- 1:09:08boxes and stuff that the girls brought
- 1:09:09like start going off. And so we're kind
- 1:09:11of following it around being like
- 1:09:12where's the stuff most happening and it
- 1:09:14was right outside of like right when you
- 1:09:16get to the tops of the stairs there's a
- 1:09:18linen closet one bedroom to the left and
- 1:09:20then a hallway to the right but clearly
- 1:09:22my god
- 1:09:23>> we opened the linen closet and inside
- 1:09:26there's a Ouija board. I'm not kidding.
- 1:09:28And it was sail novelty Ouija board like
- 1:09:31someone had stayed in the house and
- 1:09:32probably bought it in town and brought
- 1:09:34it to use it.
- 1:09:36So, we get the Ouija board out and we
- 1:09:38start kind of playing with it and it's
- 1:09:40really confusing. It like feels just
- 1:09:42from talking to it. It's like it feels
- 1:09:45like it's a woman. Feels like she's
- 1:09:47trapped in the house and she said like
- 1:09:49God can let me out but like
- 1:09:52and that was it. And then she's like
- 1:09:54really not talking like it's moving so
- 1:09:56slowly and she's not really
- 1:09:57communicating. It was like a very
- 1:09:58strange experience like she didn't want
- 1:09:59to talk to us.
- 1:10:00>> Mhm.
- 1:10:01>> And we were like that was so weird. And
- 1:10:03even like Karen and Sabrina left and
- 1:10:07they were thinking that it was like a
- 1:10:09bad experience and you know we didn't
- 1:10:11really have a lot of activity. How are
- 1:10:12we going to cut this video together? But
- 1:10:13I stayed there overnight.
- 1:10:15>> They went home to their homes cuz they
- 1:10:16live nearby and I stayed in the Airbnb
- 1:10:18with my mom.
- 1:10:19>> Oh wow.
- 1:10:20>> And the next morning cuz my mom works
- 1:10:21customer service so she will talk to
- 1:10:23anyone. But the next morning there's
- 1:10:25like a guy cleaning the leaves outside
- 1:10:27and so she opens the door and just
- 1:10:28starts talking to him and it turns out
- 1:10:30he's the owner of the Airbnb.
- 1:10:31>> Oh. And she's chit chatting with him.
- 1:10:34She's like, "They did a ghost hunt last
- 1:10:36night. They had And I start talking to
- 1:10:39the guy, too." And he's like, "Oh,
- 1:10:42like, how did it go last night? You did
- 1:10:43a ghost hunt. You know, a lot of people
- 1:10:45do ghost hunts in this house." And they
- 1:10:46always like see stuff. And I I would
- 1:10:47always see a girl on the third floor.
- 1:10:50Like my friends would come over and my
- 1:10:52friends would come over and think that
- 1:10:53my sister was up on the third floor when
- 1:10:55she wasn't home. Like there was always
- 1:10:56like a woman up like a girl upstairs on
- 1:10:57the third floor. And we were like,
- 1:10:59"Okay." So I tell him that
- 1:11:01>> that's literally that's confirmation.
- 1:11:03>> We did we did this experience and we
- 1:11:06were up on the third floor and you know
- 1:11:07we a lot of the it felt like this woman
- 1:11:10was by this pantry and we open or this
- 1:11:11linen closet. We opened it and there was
- 1:11:13a Ouija board inside and he goes,
- 1:11:14[gasps]
- 1:11:15"Oh my god, thank you so much for
- 1:11:16telling me like I really don't like when
- 1:11:18there's Ouija boards inside and I don't
- 1:11:20and the spirit seemed to be
- 1:11:21uncomfortable with it too. They really
- 1:11:23don't like Ouija boards. Thank you for
- 1:11:24telling me. I'll throw it out." What?
- 1:11:25And I was like, the girl, like that
- 1:11:27ghost in the house was telling us where
- 1:11:29the Ouija board was. Cuz what are the
- 1:11:31odds, too, that he showed up the next
- 1:11:32day and I was able to tell him about it.
- 1:11:33He was able to go upstairs. He would
- 1:11:35have never found it unless he was
- 1:11:36opening all the doors in the house. So,
- 1:11:37I think she really was like, "There's a
- 1:11:39Ouija board in here. Like, go the
- 1:11:40owner's going to come tomorrow, tell him
- 1:11:42so that he can throw it out cuz I don't
- 1:11:43like it being in the house."
- 1:11:44>> She's efficient.
- 1:11:44>> She's efficient. She was like, "We're on
- 1:11:46a mission, ladies."
- 1:11:47>> And I went upstairs and I used
- 1:11:50>> the spirit box app.
- 1:11:52>> Uhhuh. And I started asking her
- 1:11:54questions and I literally it's on the
- 1:11:55two girls one ghost channel but I start
- 1:11:57asking like was there a reason you
- 1:11:59wanted me to come here and she's saying
- 1:12:00like upstairs closet throw out like it
- 1:12:03it just like literally starts saying
- 1:12:05that it was cra I was like they have my
- 1:12:07camera I just start crying.
- 1:12:08>> Yeah I was going to say
- 1:12:10I think I probably have to book a hill
- 1:12:12or something.
- 1:12:12>> I'm getting emotional. I'm crying cuz
- 1:12:14I'm scared but I'm also like
- 1:12:15communicating with a ghost it feels
- 1:12:16like. So it's very emotional. Well,
- 1:12:18because I mean so much of that is what
- 1:12:20are the odds? Those like those key
- 1:12:22words. I mean, unless the phone is
- 1:12:23listening, I suppose, but like what are
- 1:12:24the odds?
- 1:12:25>> I know. It was really It was just all of
- 1:12:27it together. And then I told the girls
- 1:12:29about it when we did our follow-up and
- 1:12:30they couldn't believe it. It just felt
- 1:12:31like it tied everything up after having
- 1:12:34a very strange experience the night
- 1:12:36before. So, that was really cool.
- 1:12:37>> Crazy they didn't say the night with
- 1:12:39you.
- 1:12:39>> That they like kind of bowed out. You're
- 1:12:41a real one for really sticking around.
- 1:12:42>> Me and my mom. And my mom just like
- 1:12:44>> was she scared? She wasn't spooked.
- 1:12:45>> No, she believes in ghosts, too. And
- 1:12:47she's not scared. She's like, "Okay,
- 1:12:48we'll just sleep with the spirits
- 1:12:49tonight."
- 1:12:51>> Is she from Fargo? Oh my god. [laughter]
- 1:12:54>> That's how she talks. No, she's so
- 1:12:56funny. I think I also didn't tell her
- 1:12:57everything we experienced so that as to
- 1:12:59not scare her.
- 1:13:00>> Mhm. Let them go in with a clean slate.
- 1:13:02I think that's actually better to like
- 1:13:04keep it
- 1:13:05>> after the fact and before. Especially if
- 1:13:07you want someone to go in with a clean
- 1:13:08slate so they're not corrupted to be
- 1:13:11like looking around every corner and at
- 1:13:13every shadow.
- 1:13:13>> I think you hear things that Yeah.
- 1:13:15Because sometimes in some places you
- 1:13:16just don't.
- 1:13:17>> Like I I forget if this was on the
- 1:13:18sinister or creep time, but I just
- 1:13:19covered a case the both hell house. Have
- 1:13:21you heard of that?
- 1:13:22>> And it was apparently like a very very
- 1:13:24serious like more modern haunt up in
- 1:13:27Washington on um
- 1:13:28>> Stafford Way I think. And Zach Bean even
- 1:13:31came like Ghost Adventures came to the
- 1:13:33house. But ironically of all the
- 1:13:34religious groups, all the independent
- 1:13:36paranormal researchers, him and his team
- 1:13:38were the only ones who didn't have a
- 1:13:40paranormal experience there.
- 1:13:41>> Wow.
- 1:13:42>> And they only stayed for 5 hours. I
- 1:13:43guess like production was kind of like
- 1:13:44in and out, but they're the only ones.
- 1:13:47And Stu thinks that it's because the
- 1:13:49ghosts were like,
- 1:13:50>> "We're not giving you anything."
- 1:13:52>> No, of course. They're like, "We've seen
- 1:13:53your show. You do not portray us in the
- 1:13:55best light."
- 1:13:55>> Yeah. They're like, "We're not giving
- 1:13:56you this footage, girl. [laughter] You
- 1:13:58think we're going to help you with the
- 1:13:59ratings?"
- 1:14:00>> Yeah.
- 1:14:00>> Think again.
- 1:14:01>> You pay me. My agent will be reaching
- 1:14:03out.
- 1:14:04>> The ghosts looking for residuals. That's
- 1:14:05the kind of ghost we're going to be.
- 1:14:07>> I know. Ghosts that want to get paid.
- 1:14:10>> Mhm. Is that ghost sag? It's the ghost
- 1:14:11union. Oh my gosh, we're starting go sag
- 1:14:14after this. Um, well, thank you so much
- 1:14:16for coming on. Thank you so much for
- 1:14:18dressing up. I'm going to play a clip,
- 1:14:19too, of us seeing each other's costumes
- 1:14:21for the first time
- 1:14:23>> because that's hysterical.
- 1:14:24>> It was my pleasure. I'm so happy to be
- 1:14:25here. Thank you for having me.
- 1:14:27>> We are going to be back next week. This
- 1:14:28is This kind of concludes our October
- 1:14:31Halloween spooky programming, but we're
- 1:14:33headed straight into the end of the
- 1:14:34year. We have a lot more great episodes
- 1:14:36coming for the the rest of the year. So,
- 1:14:37stick around. I'm going to be here every
- 1:14:39week with more episodes, and I'll see
- 1:14:40you guys next time. Stay curious.
- 1:14:43Woohoo.
- 1:14:47>> Close your eyesight.
- 1:14:48>> All right. My eyes are closed.
- 1:14:53[laughter]
- 1:14:54>> It's starting to hit me. I'm just kind
- 1:14:55of kind of wondering. I'm like, I'm
- 1:14:56really going in blind. I have no idea
- 1:14:58what she could be.
- 1:15:02Eyes are closed. Eyes are staying
- 1:15:04closed. It's
- 1:15:05>> good.
- 1:15:06>> I I promise you I did this in the last
- 1:15:08hour, so it's nothing special. Eyes
- 1:15:11[laughter]
- 1:15:12are staying closed.
- 1:15:13>> Let me Okay. Okay. Pause right here.
- 1:15:15>> Okay.
- 1:15:16>> There you go. All right.
- 1:15:17>> Okay. Cheat out. We'll cheat out.
- 1:15:19>> Oh, I'm out. [laughter]
- 1:15:21>> My mobility is compromised.
- 1:15:24>> Okay. Say it on the count of three. One,
- 1:15:27two, three. [laughter]
- 1:15:33>> That did not take you an hour.
- 1:15:35>> Oh, but it did. It did, my child.
- 1:15:38>> No,
- 1:15:39>> my heart. It's not built for stuff like
- 1:15:41this. [laughter]
- 1:15:42>> Are you wearing
- 1:15:44>> What is on your face?
- 1:15:45>> Just a little light foundation. That's
- 1:15:47[laughter]
- 1:15:49>> You did this in an hour.
- 1:15:51>> I did. It's a little liquid latex. Wow.
- 1:15:53You look You look cute as a button.
- 1:15:56>> Oh my gosh. Down. And we both have
- 1:15:58freckles just for very [laughter]
- 1:15:59different reasons.
- 1:16:00>> Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. These are more
- 1:16:01like sunspots.
- 1:16:02>> Yeah. Liver spots. Yeah. [laughter]
