- 0:00Term 1,
- 0:02week 3. PE and Health Building external
- 0:05safety nets. [sumisingasing]
- 0:08For today, ang topic natin ay the women
- 0:10shield of building external safety nets.
- 0:13Kapag narinig natin ang word na shield,
- 0:15ang ibig sabihin nito ay proteksyon.
- 0:17Pero sa lesson na ito, hindi lang
- 0:19personal protection ang pag-uusapan
- 0:21natin. Pag-uusapan natin kung paano ang
- 0:24family, friends, teachers, school,
- 0:27community and environment ay tumutulong
- 0:30para maprotekta ng isang learner laban
- 0:32sa intentional injuries, conflict,
- 0:35violence, unsafety spaces or lack of
- 0:37support. [musika] The main idea is this.
- 0:40Safety is not only an individual
- 0:42responsibility. Hindi sapat na sabihin
- 0:45lang sa isang student na mag-ingat ka
- 0:47ha. Kailangan din ng support system and
- 0:50protective environment. The value here
- 0:52is care. [musika] A safety community is
- 0:54built when people care enough to
- 0:56support, guide, protect and include one
- 0:59another. This slide compares the old
- 1:02view and the new view of safety.
- 1:04[musika] The old view says, "Just be
- 1:06careful." Ibig sabihin parang ang safety
- 1:08ay nakadepende lang sa isang tao. Kapag
- 1:11napahamak siya parang kasalanan niya
- 1:13agad kasi hindi siya nag-ingat. Pero the
- 1:15new be is different. It shows the
- 1:17ecosystem of safety. Ang safety ng isang
- 1:20student ay hindi lang nakadepende sa
- 1:21personal choices. Nakadepende rin ito sa
- 1:24people around them. Support system,
- 1:27school rules, community spaces, and
- 1:29physical environment. For example, kung
- 1:31may bullying sa school, hindi sapat na
- 1:33sabihin na iwasan mo na lang. Dapat may
- 1:36school policy, responsible adults,
- 1:39reporting system, and classmate who do
- 1:41not tolerate the harm. Everyone has a
- 1:44role in making spaces safer. Sa slide na
- 1:47ito, makikita natin ang concentric
- 1:49ecological model. Parang layer siya ng
- 1:51protection. Layer one is healthy
- 1:54connections. Ito ang trusted family,
- 1:57[musika] friends, teachers and mentors.
- 1:59Layer two, is psychosocial support. Ito
- 2:02ang emotional, informational and
- 2:04practical help na matatanggap natin.
- 2:06Layer 3 is academic and economic
- 2:09support. Ito ang tulong para mabawasan
- 2:11ang school pressure and financial
- 2:13stress. Layer four is protective
- 2:16environments. Ito ang physical and
- 2:18social spaces na dinisenyo para
- 2:20mabawasan ng risk. Mas maraming layer of
- 2:22support, mas lumalakas ang safety net.
- 2:25Kapag may isang layer na mahina, may
- 2:27ibang layer pa na pwedeng sumalo. Hindi
- 2:30tayo dapat mag-isa sa pagharap ng
- 2:31challenges. Safety becomes stronger when
- 2:34support is shared. This slide focuses on
- 2:37healthy connections. Healthy connections
- 2:40or relationship where a person feels
- 2:42respected, accepted, [musika]
- 2:44heard and safe from judgment. For
- 2:47example, may student na overwhelm sa
- 2:49school pressure, instead na sarilihin
- 2:51niya lang yon, dapat lumapit siya sa
- 2:53trusted teacher. The teacher listens and
- 2:56gives guidance without judgment. Dahil
- 2:59doon bumababa ang risk, [musika]
- 3:01gumaganong feeling and mas nagiging
- 3:03clear ang next step. Minsan hindi
- 3:05kailangan ng long advice. Minsan
- 3:08malaking tulong na yung may mga taong
- 3:09nagsasabi na nakikinig ako. Hindi ka
- 3:12nag-iisa. People are safer when they
- 3:15know they are not alone. Healthy
- 3:17connection is not about having many
- 3:19friends. It is about having people you
- 3:21can trust. This slides explain the three
- 3:24types of psychosocial support. First,
- 3:26emotional support. Ito ay encouragement,
- 3:28empathy, [musika]
- 3:29comfort, and listening. Halimbawa,
- 3:32offenses. I understand I am here for you
- 3:35after a difficult day. Second,
- 3:37informational support. Ito ay advice,
- 3:40guidance and sharing of knowledge.
- 3:42Halimbawa, a guidance counselor explain
- 3:45how to handle peer conflict properly.
- 3:47Third, practical support. Ito ay direct
- 3:50help with task, responsibilities or
- 3:52needs. Halimbawa, a classmate helps you
- 3:55to cash up on notes and assignments
- 3:57[musika] after being absent. Different
- 3:59problems need different types of
- 4:01support. Hindi lahat ng problema
- 4:03nadadaan sa advice. Minsan kailangan ng
- 4:06comfort. Minsan kailangan ng clear
- 4:08information at minsan kailangan ng
- 4:10actual health. Support becomes
- 4:12meaningful when we understand what
- 4:14someone actually needs. This slide gives
- 4:17a practical framework. Kapag ang student
- 4:19ay overwhelmed by sadness or isolation,
- 4:21the needed support is emotional support.
- 4:24Ang action ng supporter ay i-validate
- 4:26ang feelings without rushing to fix
- 4:28everything. Kapag ang student ay
- 4:30confused or lacking a clear pat forward,
- 4:32[musika]
- 4:33the needed support is informational
- 4:35support. Ang action ay magbibigay ng
- 4:37clear advice o i-guide siya toward an
- 4:39expert. Kapag ang student ay crushed by
- 4:42a specific urgent task or lack of
- 4:43resources, the needed support is
- 4:45practical support. Ang action ay
- 4:47tumulong directly sa workload or
- 4:49magbigay ng material resources. For
- 4:52example, [musika]
- 4:52kung ang classmate mo ay umiiyak dahil
- 4:54overwhelm, huwag agad sabihing okay lang
- 4:56'yan. Mas nakakatulong kung sasabihin
- 4:59natin na I can see na mabigat ito para
- 5:01sa'yo. Gusto mo bang pag-usapan natin?
- 5:03[musika] We should learn to give the
- 5:05right kind of help at the right time.
- 5:08The buffer effect. A trigger can be
- 5:10stress, anger, or pure argument. Kapag
- 5:13may trigger, may dalawang possible
- 5:15direction. Kapag may support bupper
- 5:17tulad ng pakikipag-usap sa teacher or
- 5:19asking a friend, mas nagiging green zone
- 5:21ang response. [musika] The student can
- 5:23come down, think clearly, resolve
- 5:26conflict, and choose safer action. Pero
- 5:28kapag no support, may risk na mapupunta
- 5:31sa red zone. This may lead to
- 5:33aggression, revenge, impulsive behavior,
- 5:36or intentional injury. For example, may
- 5:39argument sa group chat. Kung walang
- 5:40support, baka mayong mag-post ng
- 5:42masasakit na words. Pero kung may friend
- 5:44or teacher na magre-remind na huminga
- 5:46muna, mag-lugof muna or ayusin
- 5:48privately, mas maganda ang outcome.
- 5:51[musika] Minsan mas kaya nating
- 5:52kontrolin ang sarili kapag may taong
- 5:54tumutulong sa atin mag-isip at kumalma.
- 5:57This slide focuses on academic support.
- 6:00Academic pressure can come from fear of
- 6:02failure, grade pressure, overwhelming
- 6:04requirements, quizes, projects and
- 6:06deadlines. Pero hindi dapat shame
- 6:08mangresponse sa student na nahihirapan.
- 6:10Ang kailangan diyan, support. Academic
- 6:13support can include consultation time
- 6:15with teachers, peer study groups,
- 6:17simplifying lessons, alternative
- 6:19learning opportunities, and guidance
- 6:21services. For example, kung nahihirapan
- 6:24ka sa isang subject, hindi ibig sabihin
- 6:26nonfailure ka. Pwede kang magtanong sa
- 6:28teacher, sumali ng review group or
- 6:30gumawa ng realistic study plan. Academic
- 6:33support reduces risk because stress
- 6:35becomes more manageable when learners
- 6:37feel guided instead of judge. The value
- 6:40is perseverance. Struggling does not
- 6:42mean failing. It means winning guidance,
- 6:45effort and a better plan. This slide
- 6:48discusses economic support. Minsan ang
- 6:50stress ng student ay hindi lang about
- 6:52grads. May pressure din tungkol sa
- 6:54transportation, food, health, cool
- 6:56supplies or family finances. Economic
- 6:58support includes scholarship programs,
- 7:01social welfare services, livelihood and
- 7:03vocational training, and health
- 7:05insurance support. Kapag nabawasan ang
- 7:07financial pressure, mas nagiging stable
- 7:09ang daily life ng student. Mas may
- 7:11chance siyang pumasok, mag-aral, kumain
- 7:13ng maayos at mag-focus sa pag-aaral. For
- 7:16example, a scholarship or school
- 7:18assistance program can help a student
- 7:20continue studying instead of dropping
- 7:22out because of financial problems. A
- 7:24healthy society creates system so that
- 7:27the vulnerable are not left behind. This
- 7:30slide compares proactive environments
- 7:32and reactive measures. [musika]
- 7:34Proactive environments prevent harm
- 7:36before it happens. Halimbawa, may clear
- 7:39anti-bullying rules, accessible
- 7:41recreational spaces, [musika] safe
- 7:43reporting system and open communication.
- 7:45Reactive measures happen after harm
- 7:47already occurs. Halimbawa, waiting for
- 7:50the problem to become serious then
- 7:52giving punishment, suspension or regret.
- 7:55Halimbawa, waiting for the problem to
- 7:57become serious, then giving punishment,
- 7:59suspension or regret. Mas effective ang
- 8:02proactive approach because prevention is
- 8:04better than damage control. Hindi na
- 8:06natin hihintayin na may masaktan bago
- 8:08kumilos. In school, proactive action
- 8:11means teachers and students already know
- 8:13what to do when bullying starts. Hindi
- 8:15na kailangan lumala bago pansinid. Every
- 8:18learner deserve spaces where they can
- 8:20grow without fear. This slide shows
- 8:23three major safe spaces. Safe school,
- 8:26safe community, [musika]
- 8:27and safe home. A safe school has
- 8:29approachable adults and force
- 8:31anti-bullly policies and designed safe
- 8:34zones. A safe community has recreational
- 8:37spaces [musika] and after school
- 8:38engagement centers. A safe home has
- 8:41freedom from violence and neglect open
- 8:43communication and a baseline of love and
- 8:46respect. Safe spaces do not happen by
- 8:48accident. They are built intentionally.
- 8:51Ibig sabihin kailangan silang planuhin,
- 8:54panindigan at alagaan. A safe classroom
- 8:57is not just a room with chairs. It is a
- 8:59place where student feel they can ask
- 9:01questions, [musika]
- 9:02make mistakes, and speak without being
- 9:04humilated. We build safe spaces through
- 9:07daily actions. This slide give us the
- 9:09action blueprint. First, strengthen
- 9:11connection. Identify exact people you
- 9:14can approach when you feel unsafe.
- 9:16Second, promote psychosocial support.
- 9:18Offer emotional, informational and
- 9:20practical help to pierce. Third, improve
- 9:22academics. Guide struggling learners
- 9:25instead of shaming them. Fourth, connect
- 9:27economic aid. [musika] Use community
- 9:29welfare and scholarship program when
- 9:31needed. Fifth, build protective
- 9:34environments and establish responsible
- 9:36adult monitors in all spaces. This
- 9:39blueprint remind us that preventing
- 9:41intentional injuries is not a solo
- 9:43effort. It requires cooperation between
- 9:46students, teachers, families and
- 9:49communities. We maintain the safety
- 9:51ecosystem together. For the final slide,
- 9:54we assess our own ecosystem. First
- 9:57question, who are the specific people in
- 9:59your life that make you feel truly
- 10:01supported and safe? Second, when you are
- 10:04under intense stress, what type of
- 10:06support do you usually lack most?
- 10:08Emotionally, informational or practical?
- 10:11Third, look at your school, home, and
- 10:14community. Which one feels most
- 10:16protective right now? Which one still
- 10:18needs improvement? Fourth, how can you
- 10:20personally act as a buffer to help
- 10:22prevents a pears intentional injury this
- 10:25week? The final value is reflection with
- 10:27action. [musika]
- 10:28Hindi sapat na malaman natin ang lesson.
- 10:31Kailangan din nating tanungin ano kaya
- 10:33ang kaya kong gawin? Grade 9. Always
- 10:36remember this. [musika] Safety is not
- 10:39built by one person alone. It is woob
- 10:41through trust, support, guidance,
- 10:44resources and protective enbite.
