- 0:00so we will start with today's session
- 0:03so we were discussing about body fluids
- 0:06in the last week
- 0:08so today we will continue
- 0:10the relationship of body fluids with the
- 0:13different internal organs
- 0:17so you can see a list of organs over
- 0:20here
- 0:22and all of them
- 0:24perform a particular
- 0:26function
- 0:27with respect to
- 0:30body fluids we will try to understand
- 0:32each one of them in detail
- 0:35and try to see how
- 0:37these organs help the body in creating
- 0:41or utilizing different kinds of body
- 0:44fluids
- 0:45okay
- 0:47so i'll just read out spleen is the one
- 0:50which
- 0:52transforms and transports in the initial
- 0:54phase
- 0:55lungs is the one which diffuses kidney
- 0:58once again transforms separates
- 1:00you you be excretes triple warmer once
- 1:03again transforms and
- 1:04transports except excretes stomach is
- 1:07the origin so when we read it out like
- 1:10this
- 1:11not much
- 1:14importance
- 1:15goes into our head so we'll take one by
- 1:18one and
- 1:19go into the deeper aspects of it
- 1:22first thing
- 1:24so spleen
- 1:25is
- 1:26a very important
- 1:29organ when it comes to
- 1:32body fluids
- 1:34spleen is the most important organ in
- 1:36relationship to the
- 1:38physiology and pathology of body fluids
- 1:42so
- 1:43but if you notice in terms of
- 1:46western medicine
- 1:48spleen is the master of the lymph
- 1:51there also we can see the correlation
- 1:53that
- 1:54what
- 1:55the tcm says is body fluids okay
- 1:58one part of body fluid is lymph
- 2:02and the major controller of the master
- 2:05of the lymph is spleen so it controls
- 2:08the initial transformation and
- 2:10separation into pure and impure part
- 2:14it also controls the crucial
- 2:17direction of moving pure and impure
- 2:20fluids upwards and downwards
- 2:24respectively
- 2:26at all stages of body fluid production
- 2:29just like
- 2:30i am trying to give a correlation over
- 2:33here before i go to this
- 2:35i will discuss little bit of
- 2:38spleen
- 2:39and
- 2:40how it helps in
- 2:42moving upwards
- 2:44so let us say
- 2:46this is the stomach
- 3:03mr screen is over here
- 3:07so and from here there is
- 3:10small intestine
- 3:32so
- 3:38so
- 3:39what happens is
- 3:41there is a direct connection of the
- 3:43stomach
- 3:44on the food which is coming
- 3:48but an indirect influence
- 3:51of screen
- 3:53throughout these things
- 3:57so
- 3:59screen is influencing
- 4:01all of these things
- 4:07that is why
- 4:10we can say
- 4:11that
- 4:15the
- 4:16screen is the one which is helping in
- 4:19the transformation so we have learnt in
- 4:22our anatomy and physiology class that
- 4:25when somebody drinks or eats the
- 4:28absorption doesn't
- 4:29happen only in
- 4:32small intestine
- 4:35it starts from the mouth itself
- 4:38from the tongue
- 4:40the absorption
- 4:41starts happening okay there is lot of
- 4:44absorption happening
- 4:46and even in stomach there is absorption
- 4:48happening and we know that in small
- 4:50intestine the absorption is happening
- 4:54so who is responsible for all these
- 4:56absorption starting from the tongue
- 5:00and the small intestine
- 5:02okay so here
- 5:04the spleen
- 5:05plays a very important role
- 5:08and that is why we say
- 5:10spleen is the one which is helping us in
- 5:14the
- 5:14initial
- 5:16transformation
- 5:17how was the connection of this plane to
- 5:20these organs how is how are these things
- 5:22connected see physically
- 5:26the large intestine is connected to
- 5:28small intestine via the tube
- 5:31ah that is clear and small intestine is
- 5:33connected to stomach via there too all
- 5:35of this is like git
- 5:41we don't
- 5:42or i don't know if there is any physical
- 5:44connection as such
- 5:47so data
- 5:50transfer to
- 5:52how is the transformation happening is
- 5:54that the question uh transformation
- 5:56without uh
- 5:57physical connection
- 5:58yeah just like say your cell phone tower
- 6:02if there is no physical wire between
- 6:04your phone and the cell phone tower
- 6:07but still so much of data comes in and
- 6:09goes out isn't it
- 6:12so there is an invisible energy
- 6:15which is acting upon your cell phone
- 6:18from the cell phone tower
- 6:20similarly
- 6:21there may be some
- 6:23physical
- 6:26influence there may be some nerves going
- 6:28between spleen and other of these organs
- 6:32but it can also be
- 6:34in the non-physical way
- 6:37but therefore can i add does it go yes
- 6:41yes
- 6:43see if you see the small intestine i
- 6:45mean especially the be life what you say
- 6:48is to the villain is attached a artery a
- 6:52wheel and a lymph
- 6:54actually these three things will be
- 6:55attached
- 6:56so when the absorption is happening from
- 6:59the small intestine these three are
- 7:01absorbing
- 7:02so i think this is my guess i think
- 7:04because lymph the fluid which goes into
- 7:07the lymph is governed by spleen there
- 7:10should be a way where it is acting on
- 7:13these organs
- 7:15yes makes full sense okay
- 7:18so what uh
- 7:20bonnie madam was telling is
- 7:22that in villis there are three things
- 7:24which is getting connected in the back
- 7:26end arteries veins and lymph so based on
- 7:29these connections
- 7:31the screen would be influencing all of
- 7:33these things which the pcm is
- 7:35telling so i repeat this statement
- 7:39it controls the initial transformation
- 7:42and separation
- 7:43into a pure and impure part
- 7:47so what is moving in the git
- 7:50in each phase when it is moving it is
- 7:52becoming more and more impure
- 7:55because all the essence or the
- 7:58nutrients
- 8:00is pulled out from that food
- 8:03all the pure stuff is pulled out and the
- 8:05impure is moving
- 8:08so
- 8:11it also controls the crucial direction
- 8:14of moving pure and impure fluids upwards
- 8:18very important thing okay which we have
- 8:20already discussed many times
- 8:23the pure fluids
- 8:25makes upwards journey and the impure
- 8:28fluids makes downwards journey
- 8:31and this happens
- 8:33at all stages of body body fluid
- 8:37production just like here i have given
- 8:39an example just like the
- 8:41water system in house we will discuss
- 8:44this part
- 8:46so because of this transformation spleen
- 8:49is always treated in any type of
- 8:52disorders of body fluids
- 8:55so let us take the example of our house
- 8:58itself so when the water comes to the
- 9:01house
- 9:02where is it it is in the ground floor
- 9:05okay either it comes through borbel or
- 9:09your municipality water connection
- 9:12now what is done
- 9:14to that
- 9:15water
- 9:16so we don't use it
- 9:18okay by enlarge we don't use the water
- 9:20directly first
- 9:22that water is sent upwards
- 9:26with the pump it is sent upwards
- 9:29and stored in the tank
- 9:31and from there
- 9:33the water is getting distributed to all
- 9:36the places
- 9:38the fresh water
- 9:40is first pumped up
- 9:43to the
- 9:44storage tank
- 9:45and from the storage tank that fresh
- 9:48water is getting utilized in different
- 9:50parts of our home like in different
- 9:52floors
- 9:54now but what is happening
- 9:57with the wastewater
- 9:59drainage
- 10:00sewage water
- 10:02from every floor it is collected and it
- 10:05is moving
- 10:06downwards
- 10:07if we don't keep a overhead tank for the
- 10:11sewage okay so whatever is
- 10:14getting
- 10:15the fresh water is there that is getting
- 10:18utilized and once it becomes a waste
- 10:20water we send it downwards to the sewage
- 10:24right
- 10:25so the same system is happening even in
- 10:28the body also
- 10:30so the first food the food comes
- 10:33and
- 10:35the goodness in that food is extracted
- 10:38and what is it doing
- 10:41it is
- 10:42the goodness
- 10:44all the nutrients
- 10:45is sent upwards
- 10:50to where upwards to the lungs and who is
- 10:54sending it upwards
- 10:56it is the spleen which is doing the
- 10:59job of extracting the
- 11:02nutrients
- 11:03and sending it upwards
- 11:05physically different organs are doing
- 11:07like stomach is doing small intestine is
- 11:10doing the tongue is doing the esophagus
- 11:12is doing all of that is in the front end
- 11:15but in the back end who is influencing
- 11:19all those things of the separation
- 11:22it is mr spleen who is influencing all
- 11:26the extraction of the nutrients from the
- 11:28body
- 11:29and then sending it
- 11:31upwards
- 11:33and once it goes upwards
- 11:35once again
- 11:36it is sent back down
- 11:38for the utilization and that part we
- 11:41will understand the next slide
- 11:44the lungs
- 11:47now what does lungs do
- 11:49lungs control the diffusing of the pure
- 11:52part of the body fluids
- 11:54coming from the spleen to the space
- 11:57under the skin
- 11:59this is an aspect of lungs diffusing
- 12:02function so it has two functions the
- 12:05first one is the diffusing function
- 12:07so
- 12:08lungs is in the upper part of the body
- 12:11right
- 12:12so all the nutrients is sent to the
- 12:15upper part
- 12:17and from there
- 12:18the downward moment happens
- 12:22so we have learnt because there is air
- 12:24pressure we constantly breathe
- 12:27right what is happening just like a
- 12:30air pump to the bicycle bicycle we put
- 12:33the pump right so the up and down
- 12:36movement creates the air pressure in the
- 12:38tube similarly
- 12:39our inhalation and exhalation creates
- 12:42that air pressure
- 12:44and because of that
- 12:46in the form of mist
- 12:48okay the fluids is sent the pure fluids
- 12:52is sent downwards
- 12:54and where does it send it is sent
- 12:58under the skin as a
- 13:01defensive we have learned this in the
- 13:03previous classes
- 13:06so this
- 13:08function is called as
- 13:11the diffusing function of the lungs
- 13:14and the next one is
- 13:16they also send some of the fluids down
- 13:19to the kidney
- 13:20and bladder
- 13:22this is an aspect of the lungs
- 13:24descending function
- 13:26say for example the lungs sends
- 13:30the defensive key
- 13:32under the skin say in the arms etc
- 13:34throughout the body
- 13:36this is not called as descending
- 13:38function of the lungs this is called as
- 13:40the diffusing function of the lungs
- 13:43whereas a mist
- 13:45it is sprayed
- 13:47under the skin
- 13:48as a defensive key
- 13:50but along with that it sends the fluid
- 13:53downwards to the kidney and bladder
- 13:55and this aspect is called as
- 13:58the descending function
- 14:01for the above two reasons the lungs are
- 14:03said to regulate the water passage so it
- 14:07is giving the water to the different
- 14:09parts of the body and also to the kidney
- 14:11and bladder because of this it is called
- 14:13the
- 14:14the water passage of the body so next
- 14:17comes the kidney okay bindu madam is
- 14:20asking a question
- 14:22okay she
- 14:23thought that the
- 14:25digestion happens in the mouth
- 14:28and absorption happens in the small
- 14:30intestine
- 14:32okay so but
- 14:34both the functions happen
- 14:38at all the stages
- 14:40in different proportions
- 14:44say in the mouth
- 14:45okay
- 14:46like alcohols etc those kind of things
- 14:50uh sweetness
- 14:52even that also gets to some extent gets
- 14:55absorbed
- 14:57starting from the tongue
- 14:59and in
- 15:00stomach also there are some kind of
- 15:02fluids which get absorbed
- 15:05but when it comes to small intestine
- 15:07major amount of absorption happens
- 15:10okay
- 15:11say minimum amount of digestion happens
- 15:14in small intestine major amount of
- 15:17absorption happens in small intestine
- 15:20but when it comes to
- 15:22mouth and stomach
- 15:24major amount of
- 15:26digestion happens
- 15:28minimum amount of absorption happens but
- 15:30it is not zero
- 15:32there is some amount of absorption which
- 15:34is happening in
- 15:36mouth and stomach
- 15:38so when it comes to large intestine
- 15:39there also there is absorption
- 15:42the digestion is minimum
- 15:44okay in large intestine the digestion is
- 15:47minimum
- 15:48maximum is the absorption water is
- 15:51getting absorbed and some of the
- 15:53vitamins also is also getting absorbed
- 15:56absorbed in
- 15:58large intestine
- 15:59with this we can say starting from mouth
- 16:02till anus
- 16:03both
- 16:04the dietitian
- 16:06and absorption is happening
- 16:09only thing is
- 16:10the proportion of it is
- 16:13different the digestion is maximum
- 16:15towards the beginning and minimum
- 16:17towards the end
- 16:18and the absorption is minimum towards
- 16:20the beginning and
- 16:22maximum towards the end
- 16:25okay when i say end it is si and li
- 16:27together
- 16:29okay hope this is clear
- 16:32okay next when we come to the kidney
- 16:38so kidneys are extremely important in
- 16:40the physiology of the body fluids
- 16:45what does it do
- 16:47so in the last class we understood
- 16:50that
- 16:51so lungs
- 16:52descends the fluids
- 16:54to the kidney
- 16:56but
- 16:57along that kidney also
- 17:00gives that moisture back to the lungs in
- 17:02the form of steam
- 17:05the steam is sent upwards say when you
- 17:08put water
- 17:10the from the falls the water falls the
- 17:12water comes downwards but when you heat
- 17:16it
- 17:17the water will
- 17:19the water vapors
- 17:21it goes in which direction
- 17:23the water vapors goes
- 17:25up the steam rises up
- 17:28the same phenomena is being utilized
- 17:30over here first they vaporize some of
- 17:34the fluids
- 17:36like these are all
- 17:38extremely important part to understand
- 17:40so pay full attention to it
- 17:43they first vaporize some of the fluids
- 17:47they receive and send them back
- 17:49to the lungs
- 17:51why
- 17:53it is to moisten the lungs and prevent
- 17:57they are getting too dry
- 17:59see now if the water is coming down
- 18:02say in the tank
- 18:04so
- 18:05let's say
- 18:07the tank empties because
- 18:10the entire
- 18:12movement is downwards
- 18:16but
- 18:18the lungs also needs fluids
- 18:20for itself
- 18:23right
- 18:24so it is sent in a different form
- 18:27i will take the uh no very famous
- 18:29example of heart
- 18:31the heart sends the blood to all the
- 18:34parts of the
- 18:36body
- 18:37now
- 18:39heart also requires blood for its own
- 18:43function
- 18:44even though the heart
- 18:46gives blood to all the organs
- 18:49heart also requires blood so there is a
- 18:52separate channel for it so some amount
- 18:54of the final blood goes from the
- 18:57arteries to the heart that we have we
- 19:00call it as coronary arteries
- 19:02so there is a system
- 19:04for
- 19:05the
- 19:07heart to utilize the blood it cannot
- 19:09just randomly utilize because it is
- 19:11dealing with the blood right just like a
- 19:14cashier
- 19:15in the bank
- 19:16just because the cashier is giving out
- 19:18money to everyone he cannot take the
- 19:20money as and when he requires
- 19:23okay i am i will give 1 lakh to the
- 19:25customer and say take 1 000 rupees as my
- 19:28salary does it work like that
- 19:30no
- 19:31whatever is
- 19:32to be given they give
- 19:35but how will the cashier get the money
- 19:37the cashier will get the money in a
- 19:39different form in the form of salary
- 19:42okay once a month there is a money
- 19:44deposited in the cashier's account
- 19:48right
- 19:48so same thing is happening
- 19:51in the lungs and kidney also
- 19:54so the lungs is giving all the
- 19:57fluids
- 19:58to
- 19:59all the organs
- 20:01but
- 20:02the lungs also require some fluid for
- 20:05its own functioning
- 20:06and who gives that thing
- 20:09the kidney gives it back to the lungs
- 20:12for for the lungs to function itself
- 20:14okay so
- 20:16first they vaporize some of the fluids
- 20:19they receive and send them back to the
- 20:21lungs to moisten the lungs and prevent
- 20:23it getting too dry so lungs sense it as
- 20:27a liquid form
- 20:29but the kidney cannot give
- 20:31it back to
- 20:32the lungs any form sorry in the liquid
- 20:34form
- 20:36because
- 20:37it has to send it upwards
- 20:40lungs is sending downwards
- 20:41but the kidney is supposed to send
- 20:43backwards
- 20:44right so it can only send by creating
- 20:49steam out of it so it creates the steam
- 20:52and the steam goes up and the lungs
- 20:54receives that steam and utilize the
- 20:58moisture
- 20:59okay
- 21:00furthermore the kidneys
- 21:03in particular
- 21:06kidney but in kidney particularly kidney
- 21:09young
- 21:11controls many stages of transformation
- 21:14of fluids
- 21:16so they these are the main things
- 21:19one is
- 21:21they provide the heat
- 21:23necessary for the spleen
- 21:25to transform body fluids
- 21:29for this reason the deficiency of kidney
- 21:32young
- 21:34nearly always results in a deficiency of
- 21:38splenium
- 21:40with consequent accumulation of fluids
- 21:44very important thing
- 21:46very very very important aspect when it
- 21:49comes to
- 21:50diagnosis so we will get back to this
- 21:52figure
- 21:54spleen is influencing the absorption in
- 21:56the entire git
- 21:58but who is influencing the spleen
- 22:01so it is the kidney yang which is
- 22:03influencing the spleen in the background
- 22:07so kidney has
- 22:09kidney
- 22:10in
- 22:22okay
- 22:23so now
- 22:25who what is helping the spleen
- 22:27it is
- 22:29[Music]
- 22:31the kidney arm
- 22:34is
- 22:35assisting the clean
- 22:38okay
- 22:39so
- 22:41and also it has many other functions
- 22:44we will discuss one by one i but i will
- 22:46say
- 22:47kidney young is also assisting the
- 22:50small intestine
- 22:53kidney young is also assisting
- 22:55the
- 22:58uv
- 22:59so which we will discuss so
- 23:02they provide the heat necessary for the
- 23:04spleen to transform body fluids for this
- 23:08reason a deficiency of okay we discussed
- 23:11this
- 23:12so what is kidney
- 23:14basically
- 23:16spleen is
- 23:17transforming the
- 23:19nutrients right we learned
- 23:22for any kind of transformation to happen
- 23:25what is required
- 23:27heat is required
- 23:30right it is the only element out of five
- 23:32element which transforms
- 23:34one thing to another i gave you an
- 23:36example of your finger if you put your
- 23:38finger in the fire it will get
- 23:40transformed but not in water or air
- 23:44okay so this fire
- 23:47two spleen
- 23:49comes from the kidney arm kidney young
- 23:51is the fire part
- 23:54the fire of the kidney
- 23:56induces heat
- 23:58or induces the fire in the spleen
- 24:01that is called as spleen young okay if
- 24:05the source
- 24:06kidney young is deficient then
- 24:09the spleen young which is the receiver
- 24:11will also be obviously deficient
- 24:14this is what it is being told here
- 24:17second
- 24:19they
- 24:19the kidney young assist the small
- 24:22intestine in its function of separation
- 24:25of body fluids into pure and impure
- 24:29so now the small intestine has to absorb
- 24:32the nutrients from the food
- 24:35there also it requires heat
- 24:38who gives that heat once again kidney
- 24:40young
- 24:42third
- 24:42they provide key to the bladder for its
- 24:45function of key transformation in the
- 24:48previous
- 24:49class we discussed
- 24:53that
- 24:55the urinary bladder receives
- 24:58the pure
- 24:59the small intestine sends the pure power
- 25:01to the urinary bladder
- 25:03and this urinary bladder has to
- 25:06separate the pure and impure the pure
- 25:09goes back
- 25:10and it get excreted as sweat and the
- 25:13impure goes back as
- 25:16the
- 25:16urine
- 25:18so for this transformation to happen
- 25:21who will give the
- 25:23heat
- 25:23once again
- 25:25it is
- 25:27the kidney young
- 25:29and fourth
- 25:32they assess the triple burner
- 25:33transformation and excretion of fluids
- 25:37so even the triple warmer mechanism gets
- 25:41assistance from the kidney
- 25:44so
- 25:45you see
- 25:46how important kidney young is
- 25:50it is an extremely important
- 25:53heat
- 25:54for the transformation
- 25:56separation and excretion of fluids
- 26:01so we understood
- 26:03the importance of kidney yam
- 26:06see now the kidney has to do so much of
- 26:09function
- 26:10like it is a mother of
- 26:12the in and as well as the young for the
- 26:15entire body
- 26:16so it has to constantly feed its
- 26:20no children something like a mother who
- 26:23is constantly feeding all the hungry
- 26:25children
- 26:26so what happens
- 26:28the kidney
- 26:29becomes
- 26:31weak
- 26:33so always
- 26:34in tcm we know that kidney is always
- 26:39excess or deficient
- 26:43efficient deficient
- 26:46kidneys
- 26:48so kidney is always deficient and the
- 26:52liver key is always excess okay we have
- 26:55learned this so this is the importance
- 26:57of kidney young and anybody who's you
- 27:00see the kidney yang
- 27:02if it is not treated over a period of
- 27:04time it will result into spleen young
- 27:07deficiency and their metabolizing
- 27:10ability will reduce automatically
- 27:13okay
- 27:16and
- 27:17this
- 27:18a very important the key which is coming
- 27:20from
- 27:22the young which is coming from the
- 27:24kidney is helping this
- 27:27key transformation bladder so i told if
- 27:30somebody is
- 27:31having
- 27:33lip um clear urination
- 27:36means the urine doesn't have any color
- 27:38light yellow color
- 27:40then that also shows that
- 27:43the transformation of key is not
- 27:45happening properly within the uv
- 27:48and who is responsible for that
- 27:51mainly
- 27:52the
- 27:53kidney yam so if you notice
- 27:56in the diagnosis part kidney on one of
- 27:58the symptom is
- 28:01clear urination
- 28:06so the
- 28:07next part
- 28:09the small intestine
- 28:11small intestine separates the fluids
- 28:13it receives from the stomach into clear
- 28:17so the small intestine separates good
- 28:20and bad
- 28:21okay and the
- 28:23bad part is sent to the li and where it
- 28:25is further separated
- 28:28which we have learned okay the si
- 28:30function of separating fluids is
- 28:32controlled by the action of kidney once
- 28:35again
- 28:36which provides key and heat necessary
- 28:39for the separation to take place
- 28:42so urinary bladder urinary bladder
- 28:45separates the fluids it receives into
- 28:47pure and impure part
- 28:49and it excretes urine by the power of
- 28:52key transformation once again which we
- 28:54discussed okay the key
- 28:57whatever the impure part was received
- 29:00into ub once again it has to separate it
- 29:03out send it as sweat and send it as
- 29:05urine for this it requires
- 29:08heat and that is also provided by
- 29:11kidney young
- 29:14so triple warmer
- 29:16so one of the
- 29:18mysteries
- 29:20out within the mystery it is further
- 29:22more mystery
- 29:25so it is also called as triple burner
- 29:28okay
- 29:29so what does it do
- 29:31it assists the transformation
- 29:34transportation and excretion of fluids
- 29:37at all the stages
- 29:40okay so we will first take up this we
- 29:42will see this figure and then
- 29:52so we can divide this into three parts
- 30:14so now
- 30:17in all the three
- 30:20parts three levels
- 30:23there is fire
- 30:26okay
- 30:38here also there is fire
- 30:47and here also there is fire
- 30:57now
- 30:58the fire of the bottom part
- 31:00where will it go
- 31:02natural direction is
- 31:05upwards
- 31:10the
- 31:12lower warmer fire
- 31:15it will go upwards
- 31:17and where will the middle warmer fire go
- 31:21that will also go upwards
- 31:23this is the
- 31:25middle warmer fire
- 31:29and where will the upper warmer fire go
- 31:31that will also go upwards
- 31:36upper warmer fire
- 31:39so now there is an accumulation of
- 31:42excess fire in the top
- 31:45because all the fires are going upwards
- 31:49now this fire
- 31:52cannot be used in the same form it
- 31:55requires the fire is required throughout
- 31:57the body
- 32:02everywhere it is required
- 32:04now but
- 32:05all the fire is going upwards
- 32:09so there should be some mechanism
- 32:12through which this fire is properly
- 32:14distributed
- 32:16in all the warmers
- 32:18right
- 32:20so there should be a proper
- 32:23distribution method
- 32:25the fire is
- 32:26utilized in
- 32:28all the warmers
- 32:31in
- 32:32as much as it is needed
- 32:36this
- 32:36mechanism
- 32:38of proper distribution of fire
- 32:42in all the three warmers
- 32:44is called as triple warmer
- 32:48okay
- 32:49so so that the fire
- 32:52doesn't become too much over
- 32:54here so this is the mechanism of triple
- 32:59warmer
- 33:00okay
- 33:01so now we will try to understand
- 33:03this what is being told
- 33:06so what does this triple warmer do
- 33:10so it assists the transformation and
- 33:12transportation and excretion of fluids
- 33:15at all the stages in all the three
- 33:18um
- 33:19burners or the three sections it takes
- 33:22care of it
- 33:23so in the simple sections
- 33:26chapter 8 part in the yellow
- 33:28emperor it says the triple burner is the
- 33:31official
- 33:33in charge of irrigation
- 33:36and it controls the water passage
- 33:39so along with the distribution of fire
- 33:41probably it takes care of the
- 33:43distribution of water also
- 33:46the upper burner assists the spleen in
- 33:49directing the pure fluids upwards
- 33:53and the lungs
- 33:54in dispersing them
- 33:57to the space under the skin so in the
- 33:59upper warmer we have
- 34:02lungs
- 34:03so what
- 34:05comes to the lungs is through spleen
- 34:08and
- 34:09so the upper warmer
- 34:11the upper burner helps in the spleen
- 34:14pulling the fluids upwards
- 34:17and
- 34:18the lungs to disperse them downwards
- 34:22under the skin
- 34:23for this reason the upper burner is
- 34:26compared with the mist in the first
- 34:30in the class where i was discussing
- 34:32about the lungs i have given this
- 34:33example like a spray bottle
- 34:35like if you are putting any perfumes etc
- 34:38the perfume comes as a mist and that is
- 34:41because of the
- 34:43pressure which is there within the
- 34:44bottle
- 34:45right in the same way the lungs has the
- 34:47pressure and because of that pressure
- 34:50this thing is spread as a mist
- 34:53and another important thing
- 34:55to understand here is
- 34:57say um
- 34:59i have discussed this
- 35:02part
- 35:03so let's say
- 35:05we have a
- 35:09container
- 35:10and there is fire
- 35:12given to the container
- 35:16and there is
- 35:18water
- 35:26now
- 35:27the
- 35:28fire is coming here
- 35:30but the
- 35:33water on the top is also getting heated
- 35:35how
- 35:40so when you touch the water
- 35:43the top surface is getting hot
- 35:46why it is because
- 35:48the warm water rises
- 35:50upwards
- 35:53and the
- 35:55cool water
- 35:56comes down
- 36:08so the water which is
- 36:10getting
- 36:13hot heated here
- 36:15so it will rise up
- 36:19and whatever water which is there over
- 36:22here
- 36:23which is
- 36:25not hot
- 36:26it will come down
- 36:28so in this way the entire
- 36:32and water in the container gets heated
- 36:36okay we we would have done these
- 36:38experiments in our school days
- 36:40so if there is a heat
- 36:44this kind of transformation is also
- 36:46getting utilized in
- 36:49the triple warmer
- 36:51because
- 36:53basically it is
- 36:54what is happening this circular circular
- 36:57movement is happening with water water
- 36:59is a fluid right
- 37:01what are we discussing
- 37:02that is also body fluids it is fluids
- 37:06and when you apply heat
- 37:08to the water
- 37:10so that water
- 37:12has to move upwards in different
- 37:18warmers the water has to move right so
- 37:20based on the fire which is in the bottom
- 37:24it sends upwards
- 37:26then once again if you apply fire
- 37:29it will send upwards
- 37:31cool down it will come downwards and
- 37:33allow it to cool down further it will
- 37:35come downwards
- 37:42so this kind of mechanism
- 37:44of
- 37:46upward movement downward movement based
- 37:50on its temperature
- 37:53triple
- 37:54warmer
- 37:56okay
- 37:58so i'll come back to the slide so the
- 38:01upper burner assists in directing the
- 38:04pure fluids upwards and the lungs in
- 38:06dispensing them to the space under the
- 38:09skin for this reason the upper burner is
- 38:11compared with the mist
- 38:12second the middle burner assists
- 38:15the stomach in its function of churning
- 38:18and turning the fluids
- 38:20and directing the impure part
- 38:23you know downwards
- 38:25for this reason the middle burner is
- 38:26compared with the multipool
- 38:29a reference to stomach's function of
- 38:31rottening and ripening what is happening
- 38:33in the stomach there is lot of because
- 38:35of the acid the food is getting rotten
- 38:38and ripened and because of that it is
- 38:40compared to muddy pool
- 38:43and in the lower burner assists the
- 38:45small intestine
- 38:49small intestine the burner the bladder
- 38:52urinary bladder and the kidney in their
- 38:56functions of transforming separation and
- 38:59excretion
- 39:00for this reason the lower burner is
- 39:02compared with the drainage ditch okay so
- 39:05all the
- 39:06drainage of the human body is mainly in
- 39:08the lower
- 39:10warmer the urine urinary excretion and
- 39:13the
- 39:14the stool excretion
- 39:17so this is about the triple
- 39:19burner
- 39:21stomach
- 39:23so
- 39:24even though
- 39:26in all these discussion stomach did not
- 39:28come up
- 39:30but
- 39:31it plays an important role
- 39:34why
- 39:35is because
- 39:38all the fluids or food first enters the
- 39:41stomach
- 39:43when we eat
- 39:44or drink where does it go it first
- 39:46enters the stomach
- 39:49and from there there are transformed and
- 39:51separated by spleen so it goes in
- 39:54but the energy which is
- 39:56given by the spleen is helping it to
- 39:59transform
- 40:01and we have this part we have discussed
- 40:04in terms of
- 40:05what food
- 40:06is liked by stomach and what food is
- 40:08liked by spain i just repeat it for
- 40:13the benefit of newcomers
- 40:15the stomach likes to be moist
- 40:18because always there is moisture in it
- 40:21right the acid is
- 40:23the stomach acid is moist moisture
- 40:26so it likes to be moist
- 40:27in contrast
- 40:29the spleen likes to be dry
- 40:32so if you do the opposite if you make
- 40:34the stomach dry and spleen wet there is
- 40:38lot of
- 40:39trouble in the body so you give what
- 40:42each of them likes
- 40:44the stomach likes moist kind of food so
- 40:47you give moist and slippery wet kind of
- 40:50food
- 40:51like rice oats etc
- 40:54and the dry foods are needed for the
- 40:57screen so anything which is dry
- 40:59so but there is only one entry to the
- 41:01mouth to the body through mouth
- 41:03either you have to put the dry food
- 41:06which is liked by the spleen or you have
- 41:08to put the moist food which is liked by
- 41:10the stomach
- 41:12so how do you satisfy both
- 41:14is by giving a balanced diet where it
- 41:17has both
- 41:19if you eat only dry stuff that also
- 41:22hampers your
- 41:23body if you eat only
- 41:25moist kind of food that also hampers
- 41:29so
- 41:30generally most of the thing
- 41:32we see is because of there is excess
- 41:35drying if there is excess dryness in the
- 41:37stomach it can lead to stomach in
- 41:40deficiency this is one of the important
- 41:42things that we see in diagnosis part
- 41:45okay
- 41:46so
- 41:47this was for today's session
- 41:51so any questions is welcome now
- 41:55sir
- 41:56can i ask you a question yes
- 41:59sir you were telling that
- 42:01kidney moistens the lungs right
- 42:06so if there is dryness in the lungs is
- 42:09it the kidneys are responsible for that
- 42:14kidney
- 42:16one of the main responsibility is kidney
- 42:19kidney in
- 42:20kidney in no sir that is what i wanted
- 42:23to confirm with that kidney in his
- 42:25responsibility
- 42:27along with that
- 42:28the secondary is lungs in
- 42:32okay make sure right it is and probably
- 42:34third if you want to think of the root
- 42:36then it is stomachane
- 42:38so three different burners
- 42:41on the top burner it is lungs
- 42:46lower burner it is kidney so between
- 42:48these three in you will have to figure
- 42:50it out
- 42:51okay
- 42:52okay
- 42:53well clarified sir thank you
- 42:59um i have a question i was just
- 43:01wondering
- 43:02does liver have any role in all of this
- 43:05or the river liver is not very important
- 43:09organ here
- 43:10see when it comes to blood
- 43:12liver is very important
- 43:14when it comes to body fluids it is not
- 43:17as important as
- 43:18say spleen
- 43:21okay okay
- 43:25okay next
- 43:26you also mentioned something about
- 43:29simple questions chapter eight what book
- 43:32were you referring to it is yellow
- 43:33emperor
- 43:35okay thank you sir
- 43:36so sometimes our foot is quite dry and
- 43:39this is the fingers between the fingers
- 43:41and the
- 43:41[Music]
- 43:43sides of the foot is very dry so this
- 43:45represents lower
- 43:47burner
- 43:49fluid deficiency so in that case kidney
- 43:52in can be given and along with that
- 43:55spleen can also be given right that
- 43:57could be the way of thinking
- 43:58it it can be so once again diagnosis i
- 44:02am not going into deeper aspects of it
- 44:05but your line of thinking is right so
- 44:07either you will have to think
- 44:09starting from the top water is being
- 44:12sent downwards from the lungs
- 44:14you will have to see the middle warmer
- 44:16stomach then the lower warmer kidney
- 44:19what is
- 44:20impacting okay
- 44:23it can be kidney and it can be sometimes
- 44:26lung seen it can be stomachane
- 44:30okay actually okay
- 44:32but thinking ways
- 44:34should be out
- 44:39right okay so at least the problem is
- 44:42reduced for no to very only three
- 44:45probabilities so
- 44:47there we will use our diagnostic
- 44:49abilities and then figure out one of
- 44:51them
- 44:52okay
- 44:55now
- 44:57condition of ascites
- 45:00where there is abdominal body fluid
- 45:02collection or
- 45:03edema when there is a fiddle edema i
- 45:06mean in the foot area
- 45:08on that when it happens
- 45:10can we
- 45:12say which
- 45:14organ which organ is creating the
- 45:16problem because
- 45:18we see in body fluid so many fellows are
- 45:20responsible according to this chart that
- 45:22you have put up yes so will this be a
- 45:25guidance now suppose i have
- 45:27in the foot i'm having accumulation of
- 45:29body fluid can i say the lower part of
- 45:31the triple warmer is not working or if
- 45:35it's in the abdomen is it the middle
- 45:36part of the triple warmer does it work
- 45:38like that
- 45:40see
- 45:41only some extent we can think of it in
- 45:43that way see water
- 45:46anywhere the pump is failure failing
- 45:48right so the water tendency is to come
- 45:51down and collect
- 45:52lay down correct right so
- 45:55first thing should come to us is kidney
- 45:59if not then we will have to see is
- 46:00because of the circulation of heart
- 46:03what is going wrong
- 46:05so this these are only pointers to start
- 46:08our this thing but not the no fixed
- 46:11formula can be given
- 46:13at this level
- 46:15okay there's one more now how we have
- 46:17the volume of blood fixed up five liters
- 46:20or whatever like that do we have a
- 46:22volume fixed up for the body fluids
- 46:24um
- 46:26see body fluids we take so much see when
- 46:29we go
- 46:30to a warm place
- 46:32we drink so much of
- 46:34water say we drink a tender coconut it
- 46:37is one liter
- 46:39so or
- 46:40three-fourth of a liter so
- 46:42there is a huge variation of
- 46:44this thing fluids which can come and go
- 46:48say i drink one liter of if there is a
- 46:50one liter of intake of coconut water and
- 46:53the next time when the person urinates
- 46:55they they will tend to urinate more so i
- 46:58don't know if there is a fixed limit
- 47:01of how much should be the uh
- 47:04or uh this thing probably uh sushila
- 47:07madam can answer better than
- 47:10uh my question is is there any fixed
- 47:13volume for this body fluids i understand
- 47:15cold places what do you do is you mean
- 47:17in totality no based upon its function
- 47:20based upon the external circumstances
- 47:22based
- 47:28is mainly in the extra uh cellular space
- 47:31and some of it is inside the cells so
- 47:34the cells in this there's a dynamic
- 47:35exchange right now going on so that is
- 47:38what decides our body fluid balanced so
- 47:42this what is um i i see here spleen
- 47:45lungs keep me looking at a triple warmer
- 47:48stomach
- 47:49maybe it is a skewed up understanding
- 47:52but these are all he's talking at the
- 47:53organ levels but again remember the
- 47:55vitamins also have cells so those cells
- 47:58are the ones who are living on this body
- 48:00fluids i mean on uh
- 48:06can we assume one third of body weight
- 48:08is water they say that means one third
- 48:11of body weight is this fluids only you
- 48:12know all together yeah yes yes
- 48:15definitely can that be making sense
- 48:18sure and you know the the association of
- 48:20these body fluids again with the heart
- 48:22with the heart don't forget and
- 48:24circulation
- 48:25body fluids are again also i mean you
- 48:27know they're responsible for the
- 48:28detoxifications they go all over and
- 48:31they're the ones that bring the blood
- 48:33overloaded with maybe fluid to the
- 48:35kidney for exclusion so like that if you
- 48:38look at it all this organs that he has
- 48:40mentioned here lungs has a function and
- 48:42also the treating fluids and also spleen
- 48:45has a function i don't know but maybe if
- 48:48we took a look at it in the terms of of
- 48:50storage of blood a lot of blood is
- 48:52stored in the spleen and therefore they
- 48:54probably has a transportation function
- 48:56is what tcm says i don't know that but i
- 48:59am understanding now the the sink second
- 49:01thing is urinary bladder definitely it
- 49:03is only a
- 49:04holding uh or main organ is kidney and
- 49:07the urinary bladder is holding you know
- 49:09holding the water and and when it is
- 49:11pushed out of the thing they're looking
- 49:13at the you know whether it has enough
- 49:14color and whether it's actually the
- 49:16concentration is mainly in the kidney
- 49:18and urinary bladder is just holding the
- 49:20organ so it has got really speaking
- 49:22allopathically no function
- 49:25of uh like you said no really excreting
- 49:27exhibition takes place in keeping so
- 49:29anyway it doesn't matter in their vague
- 49:31understanding two thousand five hundred
- 49:33years ago they understood physiology
- 49:35like that they at least they linked that
- 49:36kidney and urinary bladder are
- 49:38responsible for removing body fluids
- 49:40from the body
- 49:42and this triple bomber naturally your
- 49:43warmth of the body and how
- 49:45i mean you need more moisture for every
- 49:48function of the body it's a very
- 49:49fantastic
- 49:50figure i am so impressed with this
- 49:52krishnamaki i think i'll buy the yellow
- 49:55emperor my concept is beautifully
- 49:57explained by you i'm really feeling that
- 49:59you should get get the triple warmer
- 50:01because he's giving him if it's the
- 50:03english translation is so good then it's
- 50:05worth looking at it now actually
- 50:07speaking when i did my right up to six
- 50:09semester when i did these classes
- 50:13i mean you know friends i could not
- 50:15understand what the hell was happening
- 50:17especially when we have got such such
- 50:19close minds or other such such
- 50:21scientifically you know dogmas literally
- 50:24it was so hard for me to understand but
- 50:25now i'm beginning to sink this is the
- 50:28first time i'm so grateful to
- 50:29krishnamurti for having you know taking
- 50:32the trouble of reading it and trying to
- 50:33explain it in simple terms we really
- 50:36really have to be
- 50:37so grateful to krishna
- 50:49physiologically we have stuck his faces
- 50:51so i'm trying to expand my mind also i
- 50:53may be wrong i don't know because anyone
- 50:55can correct me but this is my
- 50:57understanding so
- 50:59i'm trying to say it you know a kidney
- 51:01but though they didn't understand so
- 51:02many things without any kind of
- 51:04instrumentation without any technology
- 51:06imagine they intuited the functional
- 51:09relationships between fluids the blood
- 51:12and where it goes how it goes and they
- 51:14and they have connected it to these
- 51:15signs and symptoms we need to see that
- 51:17we're making a very exciting journey
- 51:20let's be with you
- 51:21krishna will never leave you so you
- 51:22better not get lost thank you
- 51:25we will use your knowledge
- 51:26so much and also not that i'm trying to
- 51:29understand thank you very very much and
- 51:31for all the trouble
- 51:33really
- 51:34and also
- 51:48because some somebody are asking the
- 51:51yellow emperor
- 51:53don't purchase the book and no if you
- 51:55purchase the book don't expect to see
- 51:57these figures over there it is not there
- 52:00to start making a
- 52:02extension of fellow emperor book then
- 52:04with all your food
- 52:06i want to publish one book later
- 52:08sometime probably i will
- 52:10write up
- 52:11yeah great reading
- 52:13this is making sense so nice i i i
- 52:21[Laughter]
- 52:28actually
- 52:30you know i was very skeptical before
- 52:33joining you i know you know i asked you
- 52:35so many questions
- 52:37um
- 52:38because it was like you already
- 52:40mentioned you're a student and but
- 52:42you're trying to study and i was
- 52:44in my mind i was thinking okay what am i
- 52:46but you are
- 52:50it's like
- 52:51hard to
- 52:52give it in words but
- 52:54what we learned from so many i i have
- 52:57been learning and learning it has been
- 52:59many many years
- 53:01but what you have been teaching has
- 53:03opened up
- 53:04different dimensions of understanding
- 53:07this therapy it it's it's uh it's just
- 53:11wonderful it's just making me feel like
- 53:13oh my god you know how come when we were
- 53:15learning we didn't under we didn't try
- 53:17to even go in deeper we are just
- 53:19accepting but the way you have explained
- 53:22is something that uh that just gives so
- 53:25much insight to what you we already know
- 53:28thank you so much thank you ma'am and it
- 53:30is just a tip of an iceberg there is so
- 53:32much more to understand explore
- 53:35i am ready for the journey
- 53:39for me to explore okay so there is so
- 53:41much more to understand it will be
- 53:43fascinating only thing is it requires
- 53:45consistent
- 53:46effort
- 53:48to study and uh know to understand yes
- 53:51but even consistent study did not bring
- 53:54out what you have been
- 53:57going deeper and uh
- 53:59explaining to
- 54:01others also you know sometimes you
- 54:04people do understand themselves but to
- 54:06share is something
- 54:08it's it has to have a bigger heart to
- 54:11share the knowledge that you are
- 54:13actually finding in yourself very nice
- 54:16very appreciated
