5. 0:10arrived he's been charged with
6. 0:11conspiracy
7. 0:13next former attorney general john
8. 0:15mitchell charged with conspiracy
9. 0:16obstruction of justice and four counts
10. 0:18of perjury then charles colson who was
11. 0:21the president's political advisor and
12. 0:23special counsel indicted for conspiracy
13. 0:25and obstruction of justice simultaneous
14. 0:28with colson's arrival demonstrators
15. 0:30signs and placards appeared never before
16. 0:33in the history of this country have so
17. 0:35many who have held so much power been
18. 0:37brought before a judge to face criminal
19. 0:39charges the seven men served at the core
20. 0:42of the first nixon administration and as
21. 0:44the inner council for the 1972
22. 0:46re-election campaign
23. 0:48a former deputy attorney general robert
24. 0:50martian ducked newsmen by entering
25. 0:52through the court's garage he's charged
26. 0:54with conspiracy h.r bob haldeman and
27. 0:57john ehrlichman arrive together haldeman
28. 1:00charged with conspiracy obstruction of
29. 1:02justice and three counts of perjury
30. 1:04heirlichmann has been indicted on
31. 1:06identical charges a former haldeman aide
32. 1:08gordon strawn has also been indicted for
33. 1:11conspiracy and obstruction of justice
34. 1:13and one count of perjury
35. 1:15federal judge john cerrika was early for
36. 1:18the 11 o'clock arraignment he proceeded
37. 1:20right to the business of the day asking
38. 1:22for each defendant to stand to enter his
39. 1:24plea down the line mitchell not guilty
40. 1:28ehrlichman not guilty holdemon not
41. 1:31guilty to all counts colson not guilty
42. 1:34and so it went all pleading their
43. 1:36innocence judge sirika then asked both
44. 1:38erlichmann and colson to enter pleas on
45. 1:40charges stemming from the burglary at
46. 1:43ellsberg's psychiatrist's office both
47. 1:45again said they were not guilty in all
48. 1:48the arraignment lasted less than five
49. 1:50minutes with each defendant released on
50. 1:53personal recognizance mitchell left the
51. 1:55court without comment to leave to fly
52. 1:57back to new york to continue to face
53. 1:59additional federal charges
