- 0:15for their high price tag in the past

- 0:27frequently washed a Shore making them
- 0:29easily accessible able for consumption
- 0:31however their slow growth rates and
- 0:34excessive fishing have caused their
- 0:35numbers to dwindle
- 0:37significantly catching them in large
- 0:39quantities has become more challenging
- 0:41and storing them safely for consumption
- 0:43according to Modern food standards has
- 0:45also posed difficulties while there are
- 0:48modern methods such as trolling with
- 0:50Nets or using Lobster pots for Mass
- 0:52farming some lobsters are still caught
- 0:55using traditional techniques slipper
- 0:58lobsters for instance tend to take
- 1:00refuge in caves and reefs making them a
- 1:02target for scuba divers who used hand
- 1:04Nets to catch them these divers
- 1:06literally Traverse the ocean floor
- 1:08locating and capturing lobsters manually
- 1:11on June 11th 2021 a 56-year-old Lobster
- 1:15diver named Michael Packard was fishing
- 1:17near Provincetown Massachusetts his
- 1:20initial dive for the day proved
- 1:22unfruitful yielding minable results but
- 1:25undeterred he decided to dive once more
- 1:28at approximately 8:00 a.m. this
- 1:29ascending to a depth of around 15 M
- 1:33however just before reaching the ocean
- 1:35floor he experienced an immense force
- 1:37from behind akin to being struck by a
- 1:39truck plunging him into darkness in that
- 1:43Split Second Michael believed he had
- 1:45been attacked by a great white Shar as
- 1:47nothing else could possibly possess such
- 1:50magnitude he then reached out exploring
- 1:53his surroundings and discovered that he
- 1:55was surrounded by Soft muscular tissue
- 1:58it was at that moment that realized that
- 2:00he was inside the mouth of a whale this
- 2:03whale had engulfed him from behind and
- 2:05was attempting to swallow him whole
- 2:08fortunately he still had his scuba gear
- 2:10on so he anxiously waited unsure if he
- 2:14would be crushed or if the whale would
- 2:16recognize he was not food after about 30
- 2:19or 40 seconds he felt the whale shaking
- 2:22from side to side and then he began to
- 2:24see light bubbles surrounded him as the
- 2:27whale surfaced and expelled him the last
- 2:29thing he saw was the massive tail of the
- 2:31whale disappearing beneath the water's
- 2:34surface despite being shaken he was
- 2:36grateful to be alive the boat and crew
- 2:39that Michael was with witnessed the
- 2:41entire incident according to the captain
- 2:44Michael emerged from the water feet
- 2:47first and landed on his back they
- 2:49quickly pulled him aboard believing he
- 2:51had broken his leg and rushed into the
- 2:53hospital however it was determined that
- 2:56he had only dislocated his knee aside
- 2:59from that he had had some bruising on
- 3:00his legs and he had no signs of any ear
- 3:03embolism from resurfacing rapidly he was
- 3:06discharged by the end of the day and
- 3:08resumed diving the following week the
- 3:10whale which had swallowed him was a
- 3:11humpback whale which can reach lengths
- 3:13of up to 50 ft and weigh 36 tons
- 3:17humpback whales do not eat humans and
- 3:20this behavior is extremely rare it's
- 3:22believed that the whale mistook the
- 3:24bubbles from his scuba gear for a sko of
- 3:26fish and instinctively opened its
- 3:28massive mouth to uses a net thankfully
- 3:31once it realized he was not a fish it
- 3:34expelled him quoting Michael he says I
- 3:38realized oh my God I'm in a whale's
- 3:40mouth and he's going to swallow me this
- 3:41is it I'm going to die fortunately for
- 3:45him his wife and his two boys that was
