  12. 0:53hello everybody hello everybody Welcome
  13. 0:56to skanker's ball
  14. 0:58Bears so glad you could be here with us
  15. 1:01tonight absolutely
  16. 1:04uh we're running a little late we didn't
  17. 1:06get started backstage uh until just just
  18. 1:09a while ago and we spoke for just a few
  19. 1:12minutes Nelly had some issues up in the
  20. 1:15horrifically hot
  21. 1:17hail of Texas and yeah no power for most
  22. 1:22of the day so it's up yeah she's uh
  23. 1:25that's why she didn't get to be at the
  24. 1:27premiere
  25. 1:28uh but we're here we made it
  26. 1:32I'm looking at the thermos that my
  27. 1:34temperature is now at 85. thank goodness
  28. 1:37it's good and calm cooler
  29. 1:42so as I'm sorry if y'all can hear the
  30. 1:44fans I'm really sorry but I have like
  31. 1:47five fans in here oh that's fine honey
  32. 1:50no problem
  33. 1:52um as most of y'all know uh this case is
  34. 1:55uh pretty much cut and draw
  35. 1:57um
  36. 1:59the most interesting I guess if you want
  37. 2:02to call it that
  38. 2:03would be leading up to
  39. 2:07what happened here
  40. 2:09um it's horrific what happened uh
  41. 2:12there's no excuse it's absolutely
  42. 2:14inexcusable
  43. 2:17in my opinion it's unforgivable I know a
  44. 2:20lot of people uh do believe in forgiving
  45. 2:22helps you
  46. 2:25I'm not always that person
  47. 2:27some things in my opinion are
  48. 2:29unforgivable and this is Unforgivable
  49. 2:31it's one of those things
  50. 2:35but the case is pretty much cut and dry
  51. 2:37I guess what we really need to do with
  52. 2:39this case is pretty much let's focus on
  53. 2:42what the hell happened
  54. 2:45um and led up to this uh
  55. 2:48as we were doing our research
  56. 2:51we were surprised to see
  57. 2:53that it is a bit controversial believe
  58. 2:56it or not
  59. 2:57it's a torn case
  60. 3:00some people truly believe
  61. 3:03that Susan
  62. 3:06was so failed by so many people
  63. 3:11that this was the outcome and they don't
  64. 3:14believe it was just because of a rich
  65. 3:16man
  66. 3:17oh and they don't believe that she
  67. 3:19should be facing this punishment that
  68. 3:22she should be out free
  69. 3:24and say yes and see that's where I beg
  70. 3:28to differ I think she should spend the
  71. 3:30rest of her damn life there
  72. 3:32and never
  73. 3:34breathe the air again her son's Camp
  74. 3:36because of her
  75. 3:38exactly
  76. 3:40um
  77. 3:41but
  78. 3:43there again
  79. 3:45um you do have to put into the mental
  80. 3:47illness aspect in this case
  81. 3:50and that it was there it was evident
  82. 3:53there was diagnosis
  83. 3:56and they were all brushed on under the
  84. 3:58rug you know not by many people in her
  85. 4:01life actually by pretty much everyone in
  86. 4:03her life and I'm not defending this
  87. 4:05skank by no means
  88. 4:08however it does need to be a wake-up
  89. 4:11call that if you see something or if you
  90. 4:14know something about someone and they
  91. 4:16have this about themselves that if
  92. 4:19anything goes wrong in their life they
  93. 4:21completely lose their [ __ ] try to kill
  94. 4:22their self and handle things in the most
  95. 4:26ungodly way
  96. 4:29step in
  97. 4:30do something
  98. 4:33you know just
  99. 4:36be that stepping stone
  100. 4:40should have never been left with them
  101. 4:42kids alone ever
  102. 4:45if you see something say something even
  103. 4:48if it's something minor
  104. 4:52I'm absolutely
  105. 4:55um
  106. 4:56and there again I'm not giving her any
  107. 4:59sort of uh poor little season cause you
  108. 5:01know what's screws of hell with Susan
  109. 5:04okay
  110. 5:06she knew better
  111. 5:09if she was gonna kill herself like she
  112. 5:11always wanted to then uh what's up
  113. 5:14she's still alive
  114. 5:17but the babies didn't have a choice did
  115. 5:19they they had no choice
  116. 5:22their mother's hands
  117. 5:25literally strapped them in those car
  118. 5:27seats and watch
  119. 5:32knowing what was happening and not only
  120. 5:35that
  121. 5:36continue to alive for nine days
  122. 5:40and she didn't just continue to lie
  123. 5:43y'all she even tried to throw it off on
  124. 5:46a black person you know
  125. 5:49just to just to make it even more gross
  126. 5:52the way she was acting just putting it
  127. 5:54off on everything
  128. 5:56okay
  129. 5:57when it was her
  130. 6:00why a black person why not just say a
  131. 6:03guy a white guy
  132. 6:07me off
  133. 6:09she gave such a basic description too
  134. 6:12that it was like it could be anybody can
  135. 6:15you imagine what every poor black man
  136. 6:18went through
  137. 6:21oh my goodness that was questioned and
  138. 6:23pulled and thinking they were the ones
  139. 6:25that did it I mean that's horrible wrong
  140. 6:29on every level wrong
  141. 6:33um yeah the mother should have had the
  142. 6:36stepfather arrested right but at that
  143. 6:38time the child which is disgusting the
  144. 6:42child also had to agree to press charges
  145. 6:44can you believe that
  146. 6:47um even worse than that the mother
  147. 6:49jumped all over her for telling on him
  148. 6:52saying it was going to ruin his
  149. 6:54reputation
  150. 6:56the mother
  151. 6:59and it's not like the mother was saying
  152. 7:01no he didn't do that no because he
  153. 7:03admitted doing it
  154. 7:06but she jumped on Susan no you shouldn't
  155. 7:09have done that like look what you've
  156. 7:11done to our family that's why she was
  157. 7:12tripping out when David was um
  158. 7:15threatening
  159. 7:17to tell everyone that she was still
  160. 7:20sleeping with her stepfather and yes by
  161. 7:22the way David did know she was sleeping
  162. 7:24with her stepfather
  163. 7:28um he knew that
  164. 7:29he comes to the house and make him leave
  165. 7:34so he could be with her
  166. 7:36yeah and it was just
  167. 7:38explain that
  168. 7:40you know and um David's admitted he did
  169. 7:43he admitted himself he was a lousy
  170. 7:45husband and I have to agree with him
  171. 7:48but he was a good father
  172. 7:51and I believe he was and he did love his
  173. 7:53sons
  174. 7:55seeing that their divorce was Final of
  175. 7:58probably a week or two before she'd done
  176. 8:01this I wished he had have asked for
  177. 8:04custody of the kids but
  178. 8:07um he didn't
  179. 8:08he allowed her to have custody and he
  180. 8:12just of course wanted the visitations on
  181. 8:15the weekend
  182. 8:17um
  183. 8:18she did not need custody of those kids
  184. 8:21absolutely not
  185. 8:24um I'm sorry all my birds
  186. 8:27and mind you remember she would tell him
  187. 8:31ways she thought about silencing her
  188. 8:35children by smothering with pillows
  189. 8:38drowning them she would say these things
  190. 8:42foreshadowing that she wanted to unalive
  191. 8:46her children and he laughed it off as oh
  192. 8:49she was just joking she'd never hurt the
  193. 8:52kids if somebody comes to me and tells
  194. 8:54me oh I think I'm gonna smother my child
  195. 8:58but I'm gonna take that seriously that's
  196. 9:01not a funny joke that's nothing to joke
  197. 9:04about
  198. 9:05no and she did I know we all say oh my
  199. 9:08gosh my kids are driving me crazy I'm
  200. 9:10gonna
  201. 9:11golly I'm gonna just beat the [ __ ] out
  202. 9:13of you know people do get aggravated but
  203. 9:18when you talk about you're gonna kill
  204. 9:20them that's not
  205. 9:23normal by any
  206. 9:25me absolutely not and she also told one
  207. 9:29of the co-workers I wonder what my life
  208. 9:31would be like without children you know
  209. 9:34I would love to be with Tom but you know
  210. 9:36that's never going to happen because of
  211. 9:39my kids I mean come on
  212. 9:43there's a flag
  213. 9:46especially when somebody that has
  214. 9:50as much
  215. 9:51instability as she does and back
  216. 9:54background there's there's there's
  217. 9:56suicides everywhere on both sides of
  218. 9:58those families it's terrible
  219. 10:01all she had to do was walk in set the
  220. 10:05kids down like my brother-in-law's
  221. 10:09ex-wife did my brother my brother-in-law
  222. 10:12and my sister moved to Florida to be
  223. 10:14closer to his kids because his ex-wife
  224. 10:17took off with the kids
  225. 10:19they were literally unpacking their
  226. 10:21moving van moving stuff into their house
  227. 10:24the woman showed up with backpacks their
  228. 10:29clothes that they had on and another
  229. 10:31duffel bag full of stuff she set them
  230. 10:35all the kids bags everything on the curb
  231. 10:39they're yours now I'm done
  232. 10:42all I want is the vehicle and you pay it
  233. 10:45off and they're yours and she got in her
  234. 10:49car and drove away and those boys never
  235. 10:52saw her again
  236. 10:54well you know that that's what should be
  237. 10:57done that is how it should be handled
  238. 11:00I mean if they're just like with say
  239. 11:02Chris Watts just give them to someone
  240. 11:05that wants and loves them sign your
  241. 11:07rights away
  242. 11:09don't just take it in your own hands to
  243. 11:11get rid of your kids that's disgusting
  244. 11:13and they're it's Unforgivable
  245. 11:17amen
  246. 11:25so uh Dave do you have anything to say
  247. 11:27about it before we start this little
  248. 11:29Club
  249. 11:30no I'm good you guys are talking pretty
  250. 11:33much everything I was gonna say so yeah
  251. 11:35okay well y'all we put together a clip
  252. 11:39as usual for skanker's fall it kind of
  253. 11:41goes back into the case and we're gonna
  254. 11:44listen to that we'll probably stop here
  255. 11:46and there and talk about it a little bit
  256. 11:47and that way my birds can calm down
  257. 11:49while we're listening to this it's very
  258. 11:51interesting and after it's over you know
  259. 11:54we got a letter that Mac J sent us we're
  260. 11:57going to look at and I'm also going to
  261. 11:59make public the closing arguments we'll
  262. 12:02talk about that in a minute but let's
  263. 12:04get started watching this uh clip here
  264. 12:07and it'll it's gonna kind of fill you in
  265. 12:11on uh some loose ends in the case that
  266. 12:14you may have forgotten about if you
  267. 12:16already know the case
  268. 12:25the Union County Sheriff says Smith is
  269. 12:27repentant and heartbroken her car was
  270. 12:30pulled from a murky Lake Thursday the
  271. 12:32bodies of the boys were strapped in the
  272. 12:34back seat and autopsy revealed the boys
  273. 12:36were not killed beforehand they drowned
  274. 12:39places they said no we didn't have time
  275. 12:41because they were in car seats and it
  276. 12:43was going to take time for me to get my
  277. 12:45car seat and the ladies tell me I said
  278. 12:47but I won't hurt
  279. 12:49but he had to go and then
  280. 12:52my big thing is they were screaming
  281. 12:55hollering and crying and
  282. 12:58I'm just scared that he just lost his
  283. 13:00patience or something please to the guy
  284. 13:03to the man me and my wife plead to him
  285. 13:06to please return our children to us
  286. 13:08safely and unharmed
  287. 13:11we love our children very much and we
  288. 13:13want them returned to us safe and sound
  289. 13:15pray even now for their safe return
  290. 13:17thank you
  291. 13:21was last seen wearing a red and white
  292. 13:24striped outfit and a blue and red coat
  293. 13:26[Music]
  294. 13:31an investigation where the suspect is
  295. 13:33unknown or you don't know where his
  296. 13:35flower will turn up there's not a lot
  297. 13:37more than you can do is take the
  298. 13:39complaints follow up on them develop
  299. 13:41your leads develop your suspects and
  300. 13:42rule them out one at a time it's slow
  301. 13:44moving I can't I have to apologize
  302. 13:46there's nothing more that can be done
  303. 13:47for that but like I say it's a classic
  304. 13:50investigation that could not be run any
  305. 13:51different anywhere else
  306. 13:54[Music]
  307. 13:56with all for them and that they are
  308. 13:58being taken care of and that they are
  309. 14:00safe
  310. 14:01that they will return home safely
  311. 14:05I want to say to my baby
  312. 14:10your mama loves you so much and your
  313. 14:13daddy is this whole family love you so
  314. 14:15much
  315. 14:17and you guys have got to be strong
  316. 14:21because you are we I just know I just
  317. 14:25feel in my heart it's okay she's got to
  318. 14:28take care of each other
  319. 14:30Susan yesterday I know authorities
  320. 14:33searched your house inside outside
  321. 14:34underneath were you there at the time
  322. 14:37and do you know what they were looking
  323. 14:39for
  324. 14:40uh no ma'am was not there and I do not
  325. 14:44know I I did agree uh sign a form for
  326. 14:48them to do that I was aware they were
  327. 14:49going to do that and I understand that's
  328. 14:52just one of the
  329. 14:54normalities they have to do in any
  330. 14:56investigation source is close to the
  331. 14:59investigation Susan uh have told NBC
  332. 15:02news that federal agents are focusing in
  333. 15:04fact on the relationship between you and
  334. 15:06Mitchell Sinclair that the man that you
  335. 15:09were going to visit that night the man
  336. 15:11you said you were going to visit with
  337. 15:12your children uh they've told NBC that
  338. 15:15there were inconsistencies in your
  339. 15:18stories do you know what inconsistencies
  340. 15:20they were referring to uh no ma'am I
  341. 15:24really do not know that
  342. 15:25um but I would like to say
  343. 15:30okay I'm gonna cut in here inside just
  344. 15:32in case some of you haven't read the
  345. 15:33book
  346. 15:34the mini books in this case
  347. 15:37um during this whole nine days that she
  348. 15:39was
  349. 15:39um
  350. 15:40carrying on this facade they were
  351. 15:43staying with her parents well her mother
  352. 15:46and stepdad
  353. 15:48they weren't together when this happened
  354. 15:50David was living in an apartment
  355. 15:53um you know he had left them
  356. 15:58Susan and the kids and Susan was
  357. 16:00bringing the kids to Winn-Dixie uh to
  358. 16:03see David about every evening after she
  359. 16:06picked him up from daycare but that's
  360. 16:08one evening that she didn't
  361. 16:11but yeah just just to make that clear
  362. 16:13they they were staying with her family
  363. 16:17and um the Mitchell guy that Katie
  364. 16:20Couric just asked her about and the
  365. 16:23inconsistencies in her first story she
  366. 16:25said that's where she was going and
  367. 16:28that's why she was sitting at that red
  368. 16:29light that wasn't a red light come to
  369. 16:32find out but
  370. 16:34um that guy said no she wasn't coming
  371. 16:37over there he didn't even know anything
  372. 16:39about it and he hadn't even been staying
  373. 16:41at that house
  374. 16:42so yeah
  375. 16:44that's when she changed her story of
  376. 16:46course after she fell her polygraph test
  377. 16:48but
  378. 16:50just thought I would cut in and kind of
  379. 16:53let you know that in case you didn't a
  380. 16:55lot of people thinks that those two were
  381. 16:57together when this happened not if not
  382. 17:00true they they weren't but
  383. 17:03um they did end up coming together and
  384. 17:05both of them staying with her mom and
  385. 17:08stepfather
  386. 17:09um
  387. 17:10yeah that and yeah she was still having
  388. 17:13a
  389. 17:14sexual relations with her stepfather
  390. 17:17yeah that was a city worker in the
  391. 17:19engineering department came forward and
  392. 17:22said that that light only changes red
  393. 17:24when other cars are coming from the
  394. 17:27opposite direction
  395. 17:28so that light was always green so as
  396. 17:31soon as she heard that she changed her
  397. 17:33story
  398. 17:34a street 10 miles away you know yeah
  399. 17:38yeah 10 miles away so how can you
  400. 17:41at Rome pretty bad they already know she
  401. 17:43was lying you know she was just coming
  402. 17:46up with all this
  403. 17:47whatever and then after nine days you
  404. 17:50know she told David they were still at
  405. 17:52her mom and stepdad's house and she told
  406. 17:55David he was still in bed and she said
  407. 17:57I'm gonna go
  408. 17:58um put this letter in the post office
  409. 18:01and he said all right then and he was
  410. 18:04watching TV later and that's when he
  411. 18:06found out she had confessed
  412. 18:09um so he wasn't there he didn't have a
  413. 18:12clue of anything until he actually saw
  414. 18:14it on TV himself
  415. 18:17and he was at her parents house when he
  416. 18:20found out
  417. 18:23I don't know bottom to me it sounds like
  418. 18:26both were players
  419. 18:29you're there and sleeping all over the
  420. 18:31place and the only reason why they had
  421. 18:34to get together is I guess he thought he
  422. 18:36was doing the right thing when she got
  423. 18:37pregnant exactly he only married her
  424. 18:40because of the kids but his family was
  425. 18:43completely against Big Time against them
  426. 18:46getting married they did not want them
  427. 18:48to be married he even stated that in his
  428. 18:51book and that's his parents it's really
  429. 18:53not happy yeah and that was because of
  430. 18:56her religion you know his religion was a
  431. 19:00stronghold big time uh Jehovah's
  432. 19:03Witnesses and it and it was so bad and
  433. 19:06to the point that his mother wouldn't
  434. 19:09even walk into the church for the
  435. 19:11wedding because she said that she would
  436. 19:13not walk into a Methodist Church
  437. 19:16um and they got married in the same
  438. 19:19church that
  439. 19:21um
  440. 19:22David's brother
  441. 19:24was uh that his funeral was held there
  442. 19:26just soon I mean what was it 11 days
  443. 19:31before they got married his his brother
  444. 19:33passed away with complications of
  445. 19:35Crohn's Disease and um his mom wouldn't
  446. 19:38walk in the church when her son for his
  447. 19:41funeral then she wouldn't walk in the
  448. 19:43church later for uh the baby's funeral
  449. 19:46either she stood on the outside of the
  450. 19:49church because she's not going to walk
  451. 19:51into
  452. 19:52a Methodist Church she's Jehovah's
  453. 19:55Witness and she will not do it even
  454. 19:57though it's her grandchildren and even
  455. 19:58her son's funerals she's not going to do
  456. 20:01it that's I found that very
  457. 20:04I don't know just
  458. 20:06buried yeah very telling
  459. 20:10when they first got married and they
  460. 20:12moved us David was living with his great
  461. 20:15grandmother because he had left the
  462. 20:17Jehovah's Witness religion when he was
  463. 20:1916 and his mom just wasn't having it
  464. 20:22kicked him out of the house and he moved
  465. 20:24across the road and with his great
  466. 20:26grandmother and when him and Susan got
  467. 20:28married they moved of course she moved
  468. 20:31in with him and his great-grandmother's
  469. 20:34his great grandmother was had pictures
  470. 20:37of David all over the house with several
  471. 20:39of different ex-girlfriends and things
  472. 20:41like that
  473. 20:42and Susan did ask David to ask her she
  474. 20:46would please take those down and maybe
  475. 20:48put up their wedding pictures and to
  476. 20:50which she absolutely refused and David
  477. 20:52said no I mean these are her pictures
  478. 20:54her house you know just don't look at
  479. 20:56them
  480. 20:57um
  481. 20:59Susan also walked in the bedroom uh not
  482. 21:02long after they got married and found
  483. 21:05um David's dad stretched out in the
  484. 21:07floor where he had tried to commit
  485. 21:09suicide because you know he just
  486. 21:12couldn't handle that his sign
  487. 21:14uh the one that thou with crohn's
  488. 21:16disease had passed you know just a few
  489. 21:18months he just couldn't get over it so
  490. 21:21he tried to commit suicides Susan found
  491. 21:23him this is all at the great
  492. 21:25grandmother's house
  493. 21:26um
  494. 21:28then when Michael right before Michael
  495. 21:29was born
  496. 21:31um Susan said you know let's let's get
  497. 21:33our own place you know so they save
  498. 21:35money her parents co-signed with them to
  499. 21:38buy that little house they had
  500. 21:41um
  501. 21:42so in case a lot of you know haven't
  502. 21:44read the books and and deep dove into
  503. 21:46the case
  504. 21:47um that's that's just kind of putting a
  505. 21:49little bit of the information out there
  506. 21:50I do believe background
  507. 21:52and leading up to
  508. 21:55um is important in any case and I know
  509. 21:58there are some cases that if you start
  510. 22:00touching on background or anything like
  511. 22:02that you're just the worst person in the
  512. 22:03world but I personally believe that you
  513. 22:06need to know the case as a whole and not
  514. 22:09just
  515. 22:09the events yeah you have to know what
  516. 22:12happened what the person was what led
  517. 22:15the person to become the way they became
  518. 22:18because a lot of it happens in their
  519. 22:20past in their childhood in their teens
  520. 22:23and adolescents yeah it leads to
  521. 22:27a lot of times it leads to what happens
  522. 22:30in the future yes and it gives you an
  523. 22:34insight as to what's going what was
  524. 22:36going through this person's mind when
  525. 22:39they did what they did yes it helps give
  526. 22:42you that answer as to why what the heck
  527. 22:46you know I mean and I know a lot of
  528. 22:49times we never know the why because
  529. 22:52we're not actually in their heads
  530. 22:55but it going back and researching
  531. 22:58everything kind of gives you a glimpse
  532. 23:00as to maybe this is why this happened
  533. 23:03and this is this path chosen is what
  534. 23:07made this happen it's just
  535. 23:10I don't know it just helps gives you
  536. 23:12insight into the to the many people that
  537. 23:15are involved in this case
  538. 23:17many times I mean you do have cases like
  539. 23:21um I don't know for example I I can say
  540. 23:24uh we use Carla pamoca right it did
  541. 23:27appear that her um childhood was fine
  542. 23:30you know and come from a great family
  543. 23:31and all this other kinds of things and
  544. 23:33and she's just you know she ended up
  545. 23:36being
  546. 23:39he was it's like some people are just
  547. 23:42born that way it's almost like from
  548. 23:45that's just who they're gonna be you
  549. 23:47know no matter how they're raised or
  550. 23:49anything else
  551. 23:51it just happens but sometimes you can
  552. 23:53look back into the back and see what a
  553. 23:56train wreck
  554. 23:57um everything was leading up to that
  555. 23:59point and you're like there's no way it
  556. 24:01couldn't have played a role in this
  557. 24:02person's stability in life you know
  558. 24:07and I know the death penalty is a touchy
  559. 24:11subject for people
  560. 24:13but I myself personally don't come for
  561. 24:17me but I do believe in the death penalty
  562. 24:20oh I do too I believe that if you're
  563. 24:23gonna do something that heinous then you
  564. 24:26deserve to be murdered be executed
  565. 24:29yourself
  566. 24:30and people say oh no them being in jail
  567. 24:33for life they have to think about what
  568. 24:35they did do you think they honestly give
  569. 24:37two shits what they did they're not
  570. 24:40gonna think about what they did because
  571. 24:41they don't care they did it and the only
  572. 24:45thing they care about is that [ __ ] I was
  573. 24:47stupid enough to get caught that's what
  574. 24:50they think about yeah they don't care
  575. 24:52what they did and our money our tax
  576. 24:55dollars are going to pay for them to sit
  577. 24:59there and do whatever they want in jail
  578. 25:02some of them still have a normal life as
  579. 25:05if they weren't out of jail having sex
  580. 25:07having babies getting married watching
  581. 25:11whatever they want on TV having their
  582. 25:13own cell with locks and keys to get into
  583. 25:18their own little personal dorm yes I
  584. 25:21mean come on exactly I totally believe
  585. 25:26in the death penalty I do believe it
  586. 25:28does need to be revamped
  587. 25:30um I believe this hella pill case is
  588. 25:32just it's just too much to sit on uh
  589. 25:35death row for 20 30 years I think that's
  590. 25:38completely ridiculous and I don't think
  591. 25:40the death penalty should even be handed
  592. 25:42down if they're if you think there's any
  593. 25:45reasonable doubt because when you do
  594. 25:47that many times not in this case because
  595. 25:49they had the either or but many times
  596. 25:52they're acquitted they just walk
  597. 25:55hence Casey Anthony so I do think that
  598. 25:58the death penalty definitely needs to be
  599. 26:00rebound but yes I do believe in it
  600. 26:04[ __ ] where I live Texas is all about the
  601. 26:07death penalties oh yeah here too in
  602. 26:10Alabama
  603. 26:13okay I'll hush him we'll get on with our
  604. 26:15clip sorry guys about the Tyrant it's
  605. 26:17just sorry about that yeah
  606. 26:20but we need to talk about it sometimes
  607. 26:22because the clips doesn't cover the Deep
  608. 26:24diving that we did and I would never
  609. 26:26knock anybody that doesn't believe in
  610. 26:28the death penalty you have no reasons I
  611. 26:31have mine but hey yeah we can all still
  612. 26:35get along here I still love you guys and
  613. 26:37hope you still love me we just have a
  614. 26:39difference of opinion that's right
  615. 26:42on with the clip yes
  616. 26:51[Music]
  617. 26:55Susan Smith
  618. 26:57has been arrested and will be charged
  619. 27:00with two counts of murder in connection
  620. 27:02with the deaths of her children Michael
  621. 27:06three and Alexander 14 months
  622. 27:09the vehicle a 1990 Mazda driven by Smith
  623. 27:13was located late Thursday afternoon in
  624. 27:17Lake John D long near Union
  625. 27:20two bodies were found in the vehicle's
  626. 27:22back seat
  627. 27:24identities are pending and autopsy she
  628. 27:27needs a Psychiatry she needs something
  629. 27:29worse than that I've never heard
  630. 27:31anything like this
  631. 27:33this is the worst way that Union County
  632. 27:35could ever be brought on the news please
  633. 27:39it hurts to understand
  634. 27:47to believe that somehow
  635. 27:51what the mother did in any way
  636. 27:53diminishes
  637. 27:54quality the character
  638. 27:56the courage of what they did and um
  639. 28:00so my thoughts and prayers are with them
  640. 28:02today and I would hope the American
  641. 28:04people would feel that way as well I
  642. 28:06think we were all moved and deeply
  643. 28:07impressed by how that Community
  644. 28:09responded and
  645. 28:10in this awful turn of events cannot
  646. 28:13undermine that it qualifies as a death
  647. 28:16penalty case under South Carolina law we
  648. 28:18have a number of aggregate in
  649. 28:19circumstances that would allow it to be
  650. 28:21a death penalty case but again it's my
  651. 28:23policy to not just shoot from the hill
  652. 28:24until I've seen all the facts I haven't
  653. 28:26read all the rules
  654. 28:37with his client then Mr Brook as I
  655. 28:40understand it is waving the bond hearing
  656. 28:42at this time
  657. 28:44based on
  658. 28:46the representations of council then Ms
  659. 28:51Smith will remain in
  660. 28:54the custody of law enforcement and
  661. 28:56remain in detention until there's
  662. 28:58further motion is brought before this
  663. 29:00court
  664. 29:00[Applause]
  665. 29:02before any of us
  666. 29:12we have no answers as to what happened
  667. 29:16we do not understand why it happens
  668. 29:21today we all cry with David Smith along
  669. 29:24with thousands across our state and
  670. 29:26Nation cry out to you in our hour of
  671. 29:29need Michael and Alex toe-to-toe in one
  672. 29:33little casket
  673. 29:37and another signal the hearse to the
  674. 29:40final resting place
  675. 29:42another chance to hold hours a little
  676. 29:44tighter
  677. 29:46last night another chance to say goodbye
  678. 29:52this tragedy is tearing up dot Frost
  679. 29:54every time she looks across the street
  680. 29:57she sees Michael and Alex but they are
  681. 29:59not there Susan Smith's neighbor is
  682. 30:02bitter and when you see those kids that
  683. 30:05playing
  684. 30:06it hurts so bad to think that she would
  685. 30:08do anything like that to those kids
  686. 30:09because I can't forget those little
  687. 30:11Powers the healing process extends far
  688. 30:14beyond the realm of the church in fact
  689. 30:16many in the community are heading to the
  690. 30:18lake the lake where Alex and Michael
  691. 30:20died
  692. 30:23another place for us to say goodbye and
  693. 30:27wonder why
  694. 30:30they lay here for nine days
  695. 30:38the healing process is just beginning in
  696. 30:41a sense for all of us for this is a
  697. 30:43tragedy that makes us all feel something
  698. 30:45sorrow betrayal or gut-wrenching pain it
  699. 30:50will take time for our emotions to calm
  700. 30:52but hope hope is the great equalizer I
  701. 30:56have not seen God but I have seen his
  702. 30:58handiwork
  703. 31:00and Michael and Alex were his handiwork
  704. 31:05and now they see God
  705. 31:11Susan Smith's Story begins with sex and
  706. 31:13ends with the murder of Innocence it is
  707. 31:15the story of a woman who to judge by the
  708. 31:16evidence of her life succumbed to her
  709. 31:18own molestation as a teenager and grew
  710. 31:19up to become a promiscuous sexually
  711. 31:27okay I have been computer reading this
  712. 31:30because
  713. 31:31um I just couldn't read it at the time
  714. 31:33but there is a lot in this that talks
  715. 31:37about the trial
  716. 31:38and it's very interesting
  717. 31:41so I would suggest
  718. 31:44um if you don't know a lot about the
  719. 31:45case
  720. 31:46and I'm gonna try to slow it down
  721. 31:47because I think I sped it up too fast
  722. 31:49it's it's very interesting this clip
  723. 31:52here it's this clip is from 1995. not
  724. 31:56long after the trial
  725. 32:12of adult Smith ended her marriage to the
  726. 32:15poor boy who loved her and gambled on a
  727. 32:17rich boy who didn't when it all came
  728. 32:20apart she committed an act of savagery
  729. 32:22that defies understanding
  730. 32:24she served a pizza dinner to Michael
  731. 32:26free and Alex 14 months and Tenderly
  732. 32:29strap them into their car seats then she
  733. 32:32drove out to John D long Lake and let
  734. 32:33her maroon Mazda Protege roll into the
  735. 32:35reddish brown Water the car apparently
  736. 32:38took almost six minutes to disappear and
  737. 32:40Michael and Alex trusting and helpless
  738. 32:42can only have died screaming for their
  739. 32:44mother nothing not Smith's sad history
  740. 32:46or blighted hopes nor any kind of victim
  741. 32:49she can explain that act away
  742. 32:51after hearing new and compelling
  743. 32:53testimony about her Tangled life the
  744. 32:55same jury that took only two and a half
  745. 32:57hours to convict Susan Smith on July
  746. 32:5922nd decided just as quickly to spare
  747. 33:02her life last week and voted unanimously
  748. 33:04the outcome flatly contradicts Current
  749. 33:06public opinion now more than ever
  750. 33:09Americans support the death penalty by
  751. 33:11striking majorities and a nation that
  752. 33:13has purposed evidence about Smith
  753. 33:15Liaisons with four different men
  754. 33:17including her own stepfather boarded 63
  755. 33:20percent to 28 in a Newsweek survey that
  756. 33:23she should have been put to death so the
  757. 33:25trial result is likely to divide
  758. 33:26Americans just as it divides Union South
  759. 33:29Carolina a lot of people in Union are
  760. 33:31not feeling too good said Christine Byrd
  761. 33:34one of many residents who gathered at
  762. 33:36the courthouse to hear the decision they
  763. 33:38thought she should get a death sentence
  764. 33:40the dead boy's Father David Smith said
  765. 33:43he and his family were disappointed at
  766. 33:44the verdict I'll never forget what Susan
  767. 33:47has done to me and my family and I even
  768. 33:49have to say to her family Smith said but
  769. 33:52forgive that something I'm going to have
  770. 33:54to deal with I guess further on down the
  771. 33:56road the urge to kill in the name of
  772. 33:59Justice poses and fairly tricky issues
  773. 34:01and the outcome in the Smith case may be
  774. 34:03the clearest evidence yet of America's
  775. 34:04persistent ambivalence about capital
  776. 34:06punishment Americans seem guilty of vast
  777. 34:09hypocrisy the justice system imposes the
  778. 34:12death penalty far more often than it
  779. 34:14actually delivers it page 24. citizens
  780. 34:17support the death penalty in general but
  781. 34:19frequently refuse to apply it when as in
  782. 34:22the Smith case they are confronted with
  783. 34:24a face a name in human frailties that
  784. 34:26however Lord bear at least some
  785. 34:28resemblance to their own if a mother who
  786. 34:31deliberately drowns her children in a
  787. 34:32peek over a failed romance doesn't
  788. 34:34deserve to die who does take an eye for
  789. 34:37an eye prosecutor Tommy Pope urged the
  790. 34:39jury
  791. 34:40Smith's lawyer David Brook answered with
  792. 34:43Christ's defense of the adulterous wife
  793. 34:45in The Gospel according to John he that
  794. 34:48is without sin among you Ruck said let
  795. 34:50him first cast a stone at her Smith
  796. 34:52cried and hugged Brock when the verdict
  797. 34:54was announced her melodramatic case had
  798. 34:57placed her squarely in the Limelight
  799. 34:58since October 25th 1994 the day she
  800. 35:01reported Michael and Alex abducted by a
  801. 35:03carjacker the steady drip of Revelation
  802. 35:06each more damning than the last seemed
  803. 35:08almost certain to lead to her execution
  804. 35:10she lied to police conned her ex-husband
  805. 35:13and Hoodwinked the nation the emerging
  806. 35:15facts of her chaotic life her father's
  807. 35:17suicide her molestation by her
  808. 35:19politically prominent stepfather her
  809. 35:21failed marriage and a tabloid prurians
  810. 35:23of her repeated love affairs seemed to
  811. 35:25make her a symbol of small town
  812. 35:26decadence the case appear tailor made
  813. 35:29for an ambitious young prosecutor like
  814. 35:31Tommy Pope who rejected repeated
  815. 35:33suggestions that he let Smith plead
  816. 35:35guilty in return for life in prison and
  817. 35:37it brought her David Brooke a formidably
  818. 35:40shrewd 46 year old lawyer who was deeply
  819. 35:42opposed to the death penalty after the
  820. 35:45sentence Brooke refused to gloat there
  821. 35:47is no good outcome in this case tragedy
  822. 35:50from the beginning it was such an
  823. 35:52unbearable terrible thing Brooke had it
  824. 35:54exactly right despite its steamy
  825. 35:57undertones despite the right mixture of
  826. 35:58family dysfunction and sexual
  827. 36:00Shenanigans the Smith case is ultimately
  828. 36:02a story of heartbreaking human loss it
  829. 36:05was only last week that the true
  830. 36:06terrible scope of Smith's dismal world
  831. 36:08came clear during the trial's penalty
  832. 36:11phase the courtroom became a
  833. 36:13Battleground for the two competing views
  834. 36:15of the defendant the scheming Vixen and
  835. 36:17the emotionally damaged post-adolescent
  836. 36:19the Witnesses were pivotal figures in
  837. 36:21Smith's life meant she had slept with
  838. 36:23people who'd loved her and in the case
  839. 36:26of her ex-husband someone whose life she
  840. 36:28had ruined what the jurors heard was the
  841. 36:30fullest account yet of why she did it
  842. 36:32and in the end confronted with the
  843. 36:34pathos of it all they decided both sides
  844. 36:37were right Susan Smith was both
  845. 36:39perpetrator and victim her descent began
  846. 36:42with the divorce of her parents in 1977
  847. 36:44when Susan was six years old the divorce
  848. 36:48apparently led her millworker to Father
  849. 36:49Harry Vaughn to commit suicide one month
  850. 36:52later an event that may have helped
  851. 36:55create the emotional vacuum that has
  852. 36:56haunted her ever since Linda Von married
  853. 36:59stockbroker Beverly Russell the son of a
  854. 37:01leading local family about a year and a
  855. 37:04half later the marriage was a step up
  856. 37:06Susan and her brothers Michael and
  857. 37:08Scotty moved into a comfortable Ranch
  858. 37:10House in Mount Vernon Estates an upscale
  859. 37:12subdivision outside Union Russell 48 was
  860. 37:16then active in South Carolina Republican
  861. 37:18politics and in Pat Robertson's
  862. 37:19Christian Coalition but he is no longer
  863. 37:21and the shattering disclosures triggered
  864. 37:24by his stepdaughter's prosecution or the
  865. 37:26reason according to previously secret
  866. 37:28records from a state Family Court
  867. 37:30Russell began molesting Susan when she
  868. 37:32was 15. although Russell clearly
  869. 37:34initiated sexual contact the case File
  870. 37:36suggests Susan may have led him on Linda
  871. 37:39Russell told a social worker that Susan
  872. 37:41told her beb was sitting in the chair
  873. 37:42watching TV and Susan got in his lap and
  874. 37:45went to sleep then he slid her bra up
  875. 37:47and fondled her breast and took her hand
  876. 37:49and put it on his penis the report says
  877. 37:51Linda later asked Beverly about Susan's
  878. 37:54story and he didn't deny that it had
  879. 37:55happened he told her he felt like some
  880. 37:58kind of pervert when it happened Russell
  881. 38:00signed a statement admitting his conduct
  882. 38:02and the family sought counseling but
  883. 38:03Susan and her mother said they didn't
  884. 38:05want to prosecute Susan graduated from
  885. 38:08Union High School in 1989 and went to
  886. 38:10work in the local Winn-Dixie supermarket
  887. 38:12as a checkout girl David Smith worked in
  888. 38:15the store as a produce clerk before she
  889. 38:17and David began to date Susan told a
  890. 38:20psychiatrist she had an affair with a
  891. 38:22store manager who was subsequently
  892. 38:24transferred out of town
  893. 38:25she was two months pregnant the child
  894. 38:27was Davis when they were married on
  895. 38:29March 15 1991. they eventually settled
  896. 38:32down in a brick starter home and Union
  897. 38:34Michael was born in 1991 Alex followed
  898. 38:37in 1993 and Susan gave every appearance
  899. 38:40of being a dirty mother but the marriage
  900. 38:42slowly unraveled in 1994 Susan sued for
  901. 38:46divorce alleging infidelity and David
  902. 38:48later countersued also alleging
  903. 38:50infidelity the divorce was granted after
  904. 38:53her arrest a strapping silver-haired man
  905. 38:56Russell stunned the courtroom by many
  906. 38:58met his consensual involvement with
  907. 39:00Susan continued intermittently through
  908. 39:02her marriage and subsequent separation
  909. 39:04from David Smith he even admitted to
  910. 39:06having sexual encounters with Susan as
  911. 39:08recently as August 1994 less than three
  912. 39:12months before she killed her sons the
  913. 39:14dramatic High Point came when he read
  914. 39:16aloud from a letter he'd sent Susan on
  915. 39:18Father's Day 1995 when she was already
  916. 39:21in prison you don't have all the guilt
  917. 39:23in this tragedy he read bombing and I've
  918. 39:27been true to you and my responsibilities
  919. 39:28you would have been stronger in yourself
  920. 39:30not needing to be constantly supported
  921. 39:33and reassured emotionally my heart
  922. 39:35breaks for what I've done to you for
  923. 39:37your pain and for your loss it was not
  924. 39:39her loss alone the prosecution's main
  925. 39:41weapon was tear drenched testimony from
  926. 39:43eventual David Smith who accepted a box
  927. 39:46of tissues from Judge William Howard
  928. 39:47Smith had stood by his estranged wife
  929. 39:50during her nine-day charade and he said
  930. 39:52he first heard about her confession on
  931. 39:54television I didn't know what to do he
  932. 39:56said everything I had planned on my life
  933. 39:59with my kids was gone
  934. 40:01that was The Bitter End of a tumultuous
  935. 40:03too early marriage by the late summer of
  936. 40:061994 Susan told the defense's
  937. 40:09psychiatrists she was sexually involved
  938. 40:11with four different men Bae Russell
  939. 40:12David Smith Tom Findlay and Tom's father
  940. 40:15Carrie Carrie Findlay has denied any
  941. 40:18involvement with Smith Findlay senior
  942. 40:20owns a company called conso Incorporated
  943. 40:22which makes interior decorating products
  944. 40:24he is among the wealthiest Union County

  946. 40:29to his executive assistant in 1994 and
  947. 40:32she got to know his son while working at
  948. 40:34the concert plant Tom finley28 is a

  950. 40:39father's firm he is known to some local
  951. 40:41young women as the cash Tom Finley
  952. 40:44testified as a prosecution witness at
  953. 40:46the trial for in the prosecution's view
  954. 40:47he was the real reason Susan killed her
  955. 40:50voice Finley balding early is nice
  956. 40:53looking if not quite a hunk he allegedly
  957. 40:55told investigators that he considered
  958. 40:57himself a ladies man whose mission in
  959. 40:59life was servicing these women as he
  960. 41:01told it he and Susan became lovers in
  961. 41:03early 1994.
  962. 41:05he broke it off sometime in March
  963. 41:07Findlay said after David Smith caught
  964. 41:09them talking on the phone and angrily
  965. 41:11warned him to stay away from Susan
  966. 41:13concerned for his safety finler avoided
  967. 41:16Susan from March to September then Susan
  968. 41:19told him she and David were going
  969. 41:20through with the divorce Finley said and
  970. 41:23he resumed their affair on the weekend
  971. 41:25of October 15th Tom invited Susan to his
  972. 41:28father's estate for a hot tub party
  973. 41:29according to the sources close to the
  974. 41:31case Susan has said she became jealous
  975. 41:33when Tom began necking with another
  976. 41:35woman she flirted with another man named
  977. 41:38Tom the judged by the Dear Jane letter
  978. 41:40he sent her two days later was at least
  979. 41:42somewhat offended the letter is a
  980. 41:44classic of his kadish kind Finley read
  981. 41:46it aloud in court dear Susan Finley said
  982. 41:49this is a difficult letter to write
  983. 41:51because I know how much you think of me
  984. 41:53you are intelligent beautiful sensitive
  985. 41:56and possess many other wonderful
  986. 41:57qualities that I and many other men
  987. 41:59appreciate he will without a doubt make
  988. 42:01some lucky man a great wife but
  989. 42:04unfortunately it won't be me Susan I
  990. 42:07could really fall for you he continued
  991. 42:09but like I have told you before there
  992. 42:11are some things about you that aren't
  993. 42:13suited to me and yes I am speaking about
  994. 42:16your children Susan I am not mad at you
  995. 42:18about what happened at the hot tub party
  996. 42:20Finley wrote but seeing you kiss another
  997. 42:23man put things back into perspective I
  998. 42:25would hate for people to perceive you as
  999. 42:27an unreputable sick person if you want
1000. 42:30to catch a nice guy like me one day you
1001. 42:33have to act like a nice girl this
1002. 42:35smarter rejection through Smith into
1003. 42:36panic over the next several days Finley
1004. 42:39testified they had a series of highly
  1005. 42:42emotional conversations their last
1006. 42:44meetings came on October 25th at the
1007. 42:46console plant she was crying she was
1008. 42:48very upset Finley said she proceeded to
1009. 42:51tell me she had had an affair with her
1010. 42:53stepfather and she told me she had a
  1011. 42:55sexual relationship with my father I
1012. 42:57told her the intimate part of our
1013. 42:58relationship would have to end she went
1014. 43:01to his office later the same day to
1015. 43:02return an Auburn University sweatshirt
1016. 43:04that belonged to Finley she said I'm
1017. 43:07going to give you this I may not see you
1018. 43:09again Fender recalled he told her to
1019. 43:11keep it Smith was wearing the shirt when
1020. 43:13she drove her sons to the lake that
  1021. 43:15evening hours later A co-worker called
1022. 43:18to ask if he had heard the news about
1023. 43:19Susan and Finley's first thought was oh
  1024. 43:22my God she's killed herself the
  1025. 43:25prosecutors Finley's emphasis on the
  1026. 43:27children were Smith's murder for murder
1027. 43:29they argued there was no evidence as the
1028. 43:31defense claimed that Smith had driven to
1029. 43:33the lake to commit suicide they made a
1030. 43:36point of showing jurors of videotape
1031. 43:38interviews in which Smith tearfully
1032. 43:39maintained the kidnapping hoax Susan
1033. 43:42Smith chose to do the worst thing a
1034. 43:44mother can do and covered it up Pope
1035. 43:45argued pushing for the death penalty he
1036. 43:48said her family history was just the
1037. 43:50abuse excuse the jury found otherwise a
1038. 43:53tacit recognition that the core issue
1039. 43:54was whether Smith was mentally ill South
1040. 43:57Carolina's definition of insanity is one
1041. 43:59of the most restrictive in the nation it
1042. 44:01did not permit Smith to plead not guilty
1043. 44:03by reason of insanity or more plausibly
  1044. 44:06temporary insanity a team of State
1045. 44:08psychiatrists certified that Smith was
1046. 44:10competent to stand trial but they also
1047. 44:13said she suffered from a mental illness
1048. 44:15that could have affected her behavior
1049. 44:16and one of the shrinks Dr Donald Morgan
1050. 44:18startled the court by warning that Smith
1051. 44:21was clearly suicidal and might sabotage
1052. 44:23her own defense other testimony pointed
1053. 44:26to the Deep shame that stemmed from her
1054. 44:27incestuous relationship with muscle the
1055. 44:30psychiatric view is that Smith is a
1056. 44:32uniquely fragile person who had
1057. 44:33concealed her emotional conflicts for
1058. 44:35years killing her sons was a horrifying
  1059. 44:38act that this speaks a Personality
1060. 44:39Crisis at that moment she must have been
1061. 44:42emotionally numb if Smith in fact was
  1062. 44:45rational why risk a police investigation
1063. 44:48why not simply give custody of the boys
  1064. 44:50to their father
1065. 44:52the jury was eleven to one in favor of
1066. 44:54life in prison when it began
1067. 44:55deliberating her sentence and the lone
1068. 44:57hardliner finally joined the majority
1069. 45:00we all felt like Susan was a really
1070. 45:02Disturbed person said juror Deborah
  1071. 45:04benvenuti
  1072. 45:06giving her the death penalty wouldn't
  1073. 45:07serve Justice
1074. 45:09Susan Smith has been returned to her
  1075. 45:11tiny cell at the women's correctional
1076. 45:12institution in Columbia South Carolina
1077. 45:14she has no personal possessions no
1078. 45:17contact with other inmates and she wears
  1079. 45:19only paper gowns a precaution against
1080. 45:20suicide because real clothes can be
1081. 45:23turned into nooses barring an appeal she
1082. 45:26will be in prison for at least 80 years
1083. 45:28condemned not to die but to live with
1084. 45:30her guess the jury swiftly rejected the
1085. 45:32death penalty for Susan Smith sentencing
1086. 45:35her to life in prison Friday after her
1087. 45:37lawyer argued she is tormented enough in
1088. 45:40her own Lake of Fire for drowning her
1089. 45:42two young Sons she will be eligible for
1090. 45:44parole in 30 years for nine days last
1091. 45:47fall Smith insisted that a black man had
1092. 45:50commandeered her car as she drove on a
1093. 45:52dark empty Back Road she begged
1094. 45:54carefully on Nationwide television for
1095. 45:56her son's safe return at last confessing
1096. 45:58November 3 that she had popped the car
1097. 45:59safety break and rolled it down a
1098. 46:01rampant to John D long lake with the boy
1099. 46:03still strapped inside she cried again
1100. 46:04Friday as she was led from the courtroom
1101. 46:06after the jury announced its unanimous
1102. 46:08verdict reached after just two one slash
  1103. 46:09two hours of deliberation the boy's
  1104. 46:12Father David Smith set stone-faced later
1105. 46:14telling reporters he and his family were
1106. 46:16disappointed but it wasn't our choice on
1107. 46:17what penalty she was to receive Smith
1108. 46:19whose renting testimony about losing his
1109. 46:21sons reduced several jurors to tears
1110. 46:23said he could not imagine visiting Smith
1111. 46:24in jail and was thinking of moving away
1112. 46:26from Union to escape the memories I'll
1113. 46:28never forget what Susan has done to me
1114. 46:30and my family even I'd have to say to
1115. 46:31her family and I'll never forget Michael
1116. 46:33and Alex he said but forgive that
1117. 46:35something I'm going to have to deal with
1118. 46:37I guess further on down the road
1119. 46:39prosecutor Tommy Pope defended his
1120. 46:40decision to seek the death penalty
1121. 46:42saying he would do it again this
1122. 46:44community can begin to heal Pope said
  1123. 46:45it's taken a tremendous toll but it's
1124. 46:47something that had to be done public
1125. 46:49opinion and Union the town of ten
1126. 46:51thousand people shifted from favoring
1127. 46:52the death sentence shortly after the
1128. 46:54crime growing more sympathetic as
1129. 46:55Smith's troubled past including sexual
1130. 46:57abuse by her stepfather became known
1131. 46:59Smith's lawyer David Brook said there is
1132. 47:02no good outcome to this case this case
1133. 47:03was an awful human tragedy and it still
1134. 47:05is and it always will be after the
1135. 47:07verdict Circuit Judge William Howard
1136. 47:09told jurors their choice was the
1137. 47:10toughest moral decision anyone has to
1138. 47:12make the jury had taken the same amount
1139. 47:13of time July 22 to convict Smith of
1140. 47:16murder we all felt like Susan was a
1141. 47:18really Disturbed person and we all felt
1142. 47:20that giving her the death penalty
1143. 47:21wouldn't serve Justice said you are
  1144. 47:22Deborah benvenuti Smith 23 didn't
1145. 47:25testify during her trial and declined to
1146. 47:27make a statement to jurors before their
1147. 47:28deliberations began she was put on
1148. 47:30suicide watch in a Cell monitored by
  1149. 47:32closed circuit television and with a
  1150. 47:33guard walking past every 15 minutes
1151. 47:35prison spokesman Robin Zimmerman said
1152. 47:37for the first few days she will not be
1153. 47:39allowed visitors in his closing argument
1154. 47:41in the penalty phase of the trial
  1155. 47:42Roxette Smith's grief remorse and
1156. 47:44memories while serving life Behind Bars
1157. 47:46would be torment enough this young woman
1158. 47:47is in a lake of fire Brock said that's
  1159. 47:49her punishment holding a Bible Brooke
1160. 47:51read the story from the Gospel of John
1161. 47:52about a woman who committed adultery and
1162. 47:54offense punishable by stoning to death
1163. 47:56he that is without sin among you let him
1164. 47:58first cast a stone at her Brock Reed the
  1165. 48:00pope told juror Smith's remorse for
  1166. 48:01killing her only children three-year-old
1167. 48:03Michael and 14 month old Alex was
1168. 48:05meaningless she may be sorry now he said
1169. 48:07his voice Rising what was she's sorry
1170. 48:09when she dropped that hand break down
1171. 48:11the crowd that gathered in front of the
1172. 48:12courthouse to hear the verdict was split
1173. 48:14in their views of the case she's crying
1174. 48:16out for help she just needs help if
1175. 48:17they've given Susan the death chair it
1176. 48:19wouldn't bring those boys back said
1177. 48:20Christine bird 56 Holly Tater who was
1178. 48:23also in the crowd said the death
1179. 48:25sentence would have been more just what
1180. 48:26she did was wrong and she planned it all
1181. 48:28along she was pleading to the whole
1182. 48:29nation and lying all along there was
1183. 48:31never any doubt about Smith's guilt her
1184. 48:33trial which began July 10 was to explore
1185. 48:35why she killed the boys October 25 and
1186. 48:38how she would be punished Brooke argued
1187. 48:39during the trial that Smith snapped
1188. 48:41under unbearable personal pressures and
  1189. 48:43mental illness Smith's father Harry
1190. 48:45Vaughn killed himself when she was six
1191. 48:46and defense lawyers said she also was
1192. 48:48prone to depression and had attempted
1193. 48:49suicide several times Pope told the
1194. 48:51Jerry Smith killed her son so she could
  1195. 48:53try to continue a relationship with a
1196. 48:55boyfriend he was the son of the owner of
1197. 48:56the plant where she worked and once told
  1198. 48:58her he wasn't ready to be a father
1199. 48:59ladies and gentlemen I submit to you for
1200. 49:01Susan Smith the love for herself was
1201. 49:03greater than her love for those boys
1202. 49:04Pope said the prosecution showed jurors
1203. 49:07a videotape reenactment of the crime in
1204. 49:08which it took Smith's car six minutes to
1205. 49:10sync with the boys strapped inside the
  1206. 49:12defense psychiatrist testified that
1207. 49:13after Smith left his wife in August 1994
1208. 49:16she became increasingly depressed among
1209. 49:18them was her stepfather Beverly Russell
1210. 49:20who admitted molesting her when she was
1211. 49:2216 and to having sexual relations with
1212. 49:24her as recently as August on Thursday he
1213. 49:26took the witness stand and tearfully
1214. 49:27took partial responsibility for what
1215. 49:29happened to the boys Brooke said after
1216. 49:30the verdict that Smith still wants to
1217. 49:32die I think Susan is still suicidal he
1218. 49:34said she still puts on a brave front but
  1219. 49:36yes underneath the exterior I'm all
  1220. 49:38right I think there's great anguish and
1221. 49:40desire for relief from her pain the
1222. 49:42Union County mother convicted of killing
1223. 49:44her two sons and blaming a black man is
  1224. 49:46now asking for a new trial 15 years
1225. 49:48later Smith isn't denying her guilds in
1226. 49:50a handwritten petition she says she
1227. 49:51didn't get a fair trial for starter
1228. 49:53Smith is alleging that her Amanda rights
1229. 49:55were violated police call them Miranda
  1230. 49:57rights that's basically your right to
1231. 49:58remain silent she also alleges that she
1232. 50:00didn't have adequate representation she
1233. 50:02alleges prosecutorial misconduct but the
  1234. 50:04solicitor isn't too concerned that this
1235. 50:05is going to wind up back in court
1236. 50:06because he says the statue of
1237. 50:08limitations on this particular ocean
1238. 50:09expired 14 years ago I would like to say
1239. 50:13to whoever has my children Susan Smith
1240. 50:16the same woman who begged for the safe
1241. 50:18return of her two young Sons then turned
1242. 50:19around and confessed to killing them in
1243. 50:211994 is now in her own words painting
1244. 50:24herself as a victim of the justice
1245. 50:25system 15 years after being sentenced to
1246. 50:27life in prison for the murders Smith has
  1247. 50:29filed a motion requesting a new trial
1248. 50:31makes me sick to my stomach I'm a mother
1249. 50:34um I I cannot find the many mother doing
1250. 50:36that for any reason whatsoever in
  1251. 50:38December a similar motion was dismissed
  1252. 50:39in federal court in a six-page brief
  1253. 50:41Smith alleges inadequate representation
1254. 50:43she says her attorney never filed an
1255. 50:45appeal she also says prosecutors knew
1256. 50:48she was questioned without an attorney
1257. 50:49present which she says violated Her
1258. 50:51Miranda rights number of the issues that
  1259. 50:53she's raised in this post-conviction
1260. 50:54relief are appellate issues that she
1261. 50:56should have raised on Direct appeal
  1262. 50:57after the trial
1263. 50:58um so you know they're not appropriate
  1264. 51:00for this sort of thing I think there's a
1265. 51:01number of problems with the application
  1266. 51:02Smith also alleges her 14th amendment
1267. 51:04was violated because the jury never got
1268. 51:06to hear that she may have been suffering
1269. 51:07from battered woman syndrome battered
1270. 51:09spouse Syndrome has absolutely nothing
1271. 51:11to do with this case there's no way it
1272. 51:12could possibly have been a defense to
  1273. 51:13murdering she has a right to a fair
1274. 51:15trial she has a right to have her trial
1275. 51:17reviewed but David Smith and the people
1276. 51:19of Union have a right to expect that one
1277. 51:21day they're going to be able to put this
1278. 51:22behind them and forget all about Susan
1279. 51:24Smith and their rights are being
1280. 51:25violated with this petition the South
  1281. 51:27Carolina attorney general's office will
1282. 51:28now decide if in fact Smith will get
  1283. 51:30another day in court she's currently
1284. 51:31being incarcerated in Greenwood Smith
  1285. 51:34was sentenced to serve a minimum of 30
1286. 51:35years in prison she is not eligible for
  1287. 51:37parole until November 2024. cop paying
1288. 51:40off fellow inmates to play guard while
1289. 51:43she Susan Smith enjoys sex romps with
1290. 51:46prison girlfriends in sales closets even
1291. 51:49the jailhouse freezer and to top it all
  1292. 51:52off she's scamming money online
1293. 51:57The National Enquirer is claiming Susan
1294. 51:59Smith the woman who drowned her two
1295. 52:01young Sons Michael III and Alexander 14
1296. 52:05months there's not one minute that goes
  1297. 52:07by I don't think about these boys is
1298. 52:09having wild sexual Tris in prison
1299. 52:15other inmates come forward saying Susan
1300. 52:18Smith is living the high life in jail
1301. 52:20making money off of men who support her
  1302. 52:23okay I don't really know how to start
1303. 52:26this author who is Big Daddy that's my
  1304. 52:29first question
1305. 52:30oh big daddy is a uh a female her name
  1306. 52:34is
1307. 52:36and she was a bank robber I believe and
1308. 52:39she was uh the favorite lover of Susan
1309. 52:42Smith because she was well just what
1310. 52:44Susan liked she likes them big strong
1311. 52:46look like men and can make love like men
1312. 52:49and unfortunately Big Daddy uh got uh
1313. 52:52paroled I guess and got out of jail so
1314. 52:54she was devastated but she picked up
  1315. 52:55right now she's going with
  1316. 52:57it was a 38 year old a female bank
1317. 52:59robber who also uh is very masculine
1318. 53:02looking and uh and the inmate that we
1319. 53:05talked to I won't name her uh uh she was
1320. 53:08paid to watch for guards as you said
1321. 53:09well she would make love while Susan
1322. 53:12Smith would make love with uh
1323. 53:14in their cells closets and even the
1324. 53:17prison cafeteria freezer I bet that was
  1325. 53:19a quickie the freezer
1326. 53:22Mike Walker we just played sound uh
1327. 53:25Susan Smith the original top mom killer
1328. 53:28who ran her two little boys let's pull
1329. 53:31that video up please Liz
1330. 53:33who ran her two little boys into a lake
1331. 53:37in the car still strapped into their car
1332. 53:42seats I will never forget this image
1333. 53:45when it happened then Susan Smith
1334. 53:47tearfully going on air takes to the
1335. 53:50Airways crying trying to blame uh some
  1336. 53:55guy
1337. 53:56and again nobody knew nobody had seen
1338. 53:59for taking her children no motive No Sex
1339. 54:03Attack no robbery nothing she walks off
1340. 54:06without a scratch on her and the two
1341. 54:09boys are dead at the bottom of the late
1342. 54:11we later find out she did it because she
1343. 54:14wanted to be with her rich boyfriend and
  1344. 54:16he didn't want a ready-made family
1345. 54:18that's that story she just said not one
  1346. 54:21minute goes by that I don't think about
  1347. 54:23my boys apparently Mike Walker that's
  1348. 54:26not truth
1349. 54:28well no plenty of times go by when she
1350. 54:31doesn't think about those boys when
1351. 54:32she's with all these lovers she also you
1352. 54:34know made love to uh two prison guards
1353. 54:36men that's what brought her into her
  1354. 54:37Presence at Correctional Institution a
  1355. 54:40much tougher institution Leaf
1356. 54:41correctional institute and uh she uh
  1357. 54:45what she's doing a lot is she started
1358. 54:47out Nancy I don't know if you know this
  1359. 54:49she put an ad on a right prisoners.com
1360. 54:52website and she wrote this wonderful
1361. 54:55thing about how she wanted to correspond
1362. 54:57with people and she wrote about her love
1363. 54:58of quote rainbows Mickey Mouse the beach
1364. 55:01the mountains and waterfalls my favorite
1365. 55:03color is navy blue and my favorite
1366. 55:04flower is the daisy all very sweet this
  1367. 55:07is a woman
1368. 55:12the jury again we respect that they make
  1369. 55:15they took a testimony among themselves
1370. 55:17when they came back with the verdict of
  1371. 55:18life
1372. 55:20David Smith is with us as well we are
1373. 55:23rejoined by attorney Lisa Bloom she is
1374. 55:25the author of think now David I uh
1375. 55:29apologize for dragging you through all
  1376. 55:30this again I hope you're okay with this
1377. 55:32but I am thank you okay what was it like
1378. 55:34you know where now all of us are focused
1379. 55:36on the Anthony's and their family at the
1380. 55:38center of this media scrutiny what was
1381. 55:40that like when you were going through it
  1382. 55:42it's very uh stressful
  1383. 55:45um
  1384. 55:46it's it's very emotionally draining were
1385. 55:50you ever the subject of scrutiny did
1386. 55:52they try to put any blame over onto you
  1387. 55:54the way they're doing with George
  1388. 55:55Anthony
1389. 55:57um some at first I did a little but not
1390. 56:00not very much and then to to be lied to
1391. 56:03by your wife so let's call it vividly so
  1392. 56:06so
  1393. 56:07unabashedly right
1394. 56:10how do you make sense that what how did
1395. 56:11you to me that's just baffling it just
1396. 56:14started you have to shake your head you
1397. 56:15still feel like that or does it make
  1398. 56:17sense now no no I still don't understand
1399. 56:19today any more than I did then I mean
1400. 56:23you know Susan was the last person I
1401. 56:25thought would have ever you know harm
1402. 56:27Michael and Alex well that's my question
  1403. 56:29was there evidence I mean there's a lot
1404. 56:31of similarities between Susan and Casey
1405. 56:33right do you see those similarities say
1406. 56:36some of them once you've cheered me what
1407. 56:38you see as the similarities the uh
1408. 56:40partying you know Susan was doing a lot
1409. 56:42of partying there towards the end
1410. 56:45um and she was she actually was having
1411. 56:47an affair or something right is that
1412. 56:48true yes that's correct and so Casey
1413. 56:50same thing partying lying partying lying
1414. 56:52lies lies lies you can do the center of
1415. 56:54all this okay correct but before that
1416. 56:56did she show any evidence of did she
1417. 56:59hurt anybody before that did she lie
1418. 57:01repeatedly before that was she using
1419. 57:03drugs and alcohol before things
1420. 57:05unraveled Dr Joe there was
1421. 57:08there were there weren't any signs there
  1422. 57:10was nothing that I could
  1423. 57:12have seen
1424. 57:14that I saw that would have led me to
1425. 57:17think she would have ever done what she
1426. 57:18did she was a great mother up to the
  1427. 57:21moment that she killed Michael there's
  1428. 57:23another similarity with what they're
  1429. 57:24saying about Casey potentially
1430. 57:26interestingly is is should you talk to
1431. 57:28her now Susan no I know do you does
1432. 57:31anyone that that do speak with her does
1433. 57:33she have any insight into what happened
1434. 57:35does she do you know I don't know of
1435. 57:37anybody who has talking to her spoken
1436. 57:39with her is your sense that she's just a
1437. 57:41psychopath or a sociopath and really had
1438. 57:43no feelings at least in that moment
1439. 57:45I think she was just you know I mean she
  1440. 57:48was very selfish
1441. 57:49um you know it's selfish to the point of
1442. 57:51Killing Children is something specially
1443. 57:53I mean so you use you need a special
  1444. 57:55word for that selfish doesn't quite
  1445. 57:56apply
1446. 57:57you know what I'm saying yes Lisa let me
1447. 58:00ask you you deal with criminals and this
1448. 58:02is really what we're talking about here
1449. 58:03I mean we toss around a lot of
1450. 58:05terminology when people discuss Casey
1451. 58:07Anthony talk about sociopath the
  1452. 58:08psychopath name psychopath that's how I
1453. 58:10just come up and hear in reference to
  1454. 58:11Susan But ultimately we're talking about
  1455. 58:13criminals we're talking about people who
  1456. 58:15don't have a conscience right yeah
1457. 58:16that's a criminal you might think evil
1458. 58:18thoughts but we don't act on it
1459. 58:19something stops us and that something is
1460. 58:21our conscience well in in my world we
1461. 58:23think of that as the ability to
1462. 58:25appreciate that other peoples have
1463. 58:26feelings and agency other people exist
  1464. 58:28right compassion right and and what's
1465. 58:32strange to me is that in Casey and
1466. 58:33Susan's case it looked like it seemed to
  1467. 58:36people around them you're you're smiling
1468. 58:38a little bit it seemed like she had
  1469. 58:39compassion
1470. 58:42that's what you thought right absolutely
1471. 58:45you thought this was a woman who could
1472. 58:47love me it felt like love yes and
1473. 58:50someone that was you know a very caring
  1474. 58:53uh loving mother
1475. 58:56all that so 15 years later even Oprah
1476. 58:59wants to know more she was recently
  1477. 59:01turned down for a jailhouse interview
  1478. 59:02with Susan Smith it's a life-changing
1479. 59:05pain David Smith has to live with every
1480. 59:07day he agreed to dig up the past today
  1481. 59:09to help investigators
  1482. 59:11Susan Smith
1483. 59:13has been arrested and will be charged
1484. 59:16with two counts of murder the murders of
1485. 59:19young Michael and Alex Smith will never
  1486. 59:20be forgotten in
1487. 59:221994 their mother lied to the country
1488. 59:25saying her car was stolen with the boys
1489. 59:27still inside the Frantic search ended
1490. 59:30when investigators proved The Grieving
1491. 59:32mother was really the one to blame it's
1492. 59:34a painful story investigators are still
1493. 59:37trying to learn from more than 15 years
1494. 59:39later for the first time though their
1495. 59:42teacher is the man who lived through it
1496. 59:44all the boy's Father David Smith please
  1497. 59:47law enforcement don't shy away
1498. 59:50don't feel intimidated by the parents
  1499. 59:55and
1500. 59:57hinder you know the investigation
1501. 1:00:00please ask those important questions
1502. 1:00:03Smith reopened his Old Wounds talking
1503. 1:00:06about what it was like to be under the
  1504. 1:00:07microscope part of me
  1505. 1:00:10was kind of uh
  1506. 1:00:12a little frustrated
  1507. 1:00:14because
1508. 1:00:16I wanted every available officer out
1509. 1:00:20there looking for Michael Alex
  1510. 1:00:23um
  1511. 1:00:24and I was like well you know you're
  1512. 1:00:26wasting time
  1513. 1:00:28interviewing me
1514. 1:00:30or as I thought at that time too soon he
1515. 1:00:35says what happened to his family is the
1516. 1:00:37reason why investigators can never back
1517. 1:00:39down but he says to get to the truth
1518. 1:00:41they'll have to use compassion asking me
1519. 1:00:44do I know where Michael Knox is at that
  1520. 1:00:46hurt
1521. 1:00:47but I knew they had to you know ask that
1522. 1:00:50they had to do their job
  1523. 1:00:52and that's what I want law enforcement
1524. 1:00:54to do is just remember that they have to
  1525. 1:00:56ask those tough questions
1526. 1:00:58it says he's only spoken to Susan once
  1527. 1:01:00since the trial it took a
1528. 1:01:03many years it took a long time but I
  1529. 1:01:05finally forgiven her because
1530. 1:01:07not forgiven her that was
  1531. 1:01:11that was eating meals
1532. 1:01:16first request for a sit down with Susan
1533. 1:01:18in jail to me it just she just needs to
  1534. 1:01:22go away per se
1535. 1:01:25um so you know if Oprah wants to talk to
  1536. 1:01:29Susan I guess you know from a media
1537. 1:01:31point of view I can understand that
  1538. 1:01:33from the personal point I
  1539. 1:01:36I don't agree with it
1540. 1:01:38I wanted to try to correspond with her
  1541. 1:01:40in prison
1542. 1:01:42and wanted to know her side of the story
1543. 1:01:44we wanted to know what she thought about
1544. 1:01:46it 20 years later has her opinions
1545. 1:01:48changed to what she did is she
1546. 1:01:50remorseful that sort of thing so what I
  1547. 1:01:52did was I wrote a letter I met with my
  1548. 1:01:54editors and we
1549. 1:01:56formed this letter that asked her those
1550. 1:01:57exact questions and then in January of
1551. 1:01:592015 she wrote back Mr Cahill I am not
  1552. 1:02:03the monster Society thinks I am I'm far
1553. 1:02:05from it something went very wrong that
  1554. 1:02:07night I was not myself I was a good
1555. 1:02:09mother and I loved my boys you want to
1556. 1:02:11know why did you do this and hopefully
1557. 1:02:13you get some kind of insight as to what
1558. 1:02:15goes on in the mind of a criminal so
1559. 1:02:18that tips and hints that they give you
1560. 1:02:19that they lay down that they work as a
1561. 1:02:21foundation for other criminals you you
1562. 1:02:23might have the chance to prevent
  1563. 1:02:24something in the future
  1564. 1:02:28[Music]
  1565. 1:02:40[Music]
1566. 1:03:00we got in the car we drove up to Union
  1567. 1:03:02uh I remember going to the Sheriff's
  1568. 1:03:05Office first and
1569. 1:03:08um thankfully I had interacted and knew
1570. 1:03:11the head of sled Chief Stewart back then
1571. 1:03:13and so he told me they were getting
1572. 1:03:16ready to fly John D long Lake it just
1573. 1:03:19seemed so unfair that somebody could
1574. 1:03:21take such two beautiful children she
1575. 1:03:24said that she was stopped at a traffic
1576. 1:03:27light at around nine o'clock at night
1577. 1:03:30and that while she was stopped at a
  1578. 1:03:33light a man
1579. 1:03:34jumped in the car and forced her to
1580. 1:03:38drive got her out of the car and goes
1581. 1:03:40away with her children they were
1582. 1:03:42screaming hollering and crying then
1583. 1:03:45I'm just scared that he just lost his
1584. 1:03:47patience or something at that point I
1585. 1:03:49mean we thought it was an abduction we
1586. 1:03:50had no reason to believe that a family
1587. 1:03:54member would have been involved because
1588. 1:03:56I remembered it was the lead story on
  1589. 1:03:58our evening newscast
1590. 1:04:00the last sentence of her story was this
1591. 1:04:03is almost verbatim verbatim authorities
1592. 1:04:07are not ruling out anyone as a suspect
1593. 1:04:10including the mother your hearts just
1594. 1:04:12feel heavy you know for the things
  1595. 1:04:14that's going on
1596. 1:04:16like say nothing has ever happened like
1597. 1:04:18they've seen Union before the reason why
1598. 1:04:21I remember so well is I spent the next
1599. 1:04:24hour to two hours with viewers screaming
  1600. 1:04:27at me
1601. 1:04:28how dare you how dare you
  1602. 1:04:32that poor woman
1603. 1:04:34she's had her two little babies
  1604. 1:04:36kidnapped
1605. 1:04:38and you would suggest that she might
1606. 1:04:41have been responsible this story touches
1607. 1:04:44most every listener and knowing that the
1608. 1:04:47media have plugged into Union County I
  1609. 1:04:52satellite I couldn't believe how many
1610. 1:04:54reporters from all over the country were
  1611. 1:04:57already there
1612. 1:04:58it just it captivated the the heart of
1613. 1:05:01the nation of the heart of the world
  1614. 1:05:02just like that I couldn't go anywhere I
  1615. 1:05:04couldn't walk down the street I couldn't
  1616. 1:05:06go in the restaurant I couldn't go in
1617. 1:05:08the bathroom and somebody was saying
1618. 1:05:10what's the latest on the Susan Smith
1619. 1:05:11story what's the latest one have they
1620. 1:05:12found those little boys please bring
1621. 1:05:14them home so this this didn't happen to
1622. 1:05:17strangers this happened to people that
1623. 1:05:19they that most everyone knew so it and
  1624. 1:05:23of course everybody's out looking they
1625. 1:05:25all want to find these little boys I
1626. 1:05:28remember this black guy came up and just
1627. 1:05:30had them doing something in the car so
1628. 1:05:32they had this sketch and schedules up
1629. 1:05:34everywhere and so everybody was looking
1630. 1:05:37for not only a car the boys but that man
1631. 1:05:41the dialogue started in The Newsroom of
1632. 1:05:47do we continue to use it and The
1633. 1:05:50Newsroom decided to stop using that what
1634. 1:05:52was interesting about the sketch is most
  1635. 1:05:55people
  1636. 1:05:56tell you detail first
1637. 1:05:59and then broaden out to
1638. 1:06:02more Global Information in her case it
1639. 1:06:06was Global without any details because
1640. 1:06:09you want to say well anything is is
1641. 1:06:12better than nothing right but not
1642. 1:06:14necessarily so if it's going to identify
1643. 1:06:16900 people in a five you know Mile
1644. 1:06:19Square area there were people riding
1645. 1:06:22around here with rifles in the back of
  1646. 1:06:24the trucks
1647. 1:06:26shotguns in the back of the trucks
1648. 1:06:28and I'm sure there are numerous people
1649. 1:06:30riding around with the pistols in there
  1650. 1:06:32um
1651. 1:06:33David Smith looked like a guy who
1652. 1:06:35someone had kidnapped his kids
1653. 1:06:38Susan Smith looked like someone who was
1654. 1:06:40excited to for the media
1655. 1:06:42they've told NBC that there were
1656. 1:06:45inconsistencies in your stories do you
1657. 1:06:48know what inconsistencies they were
1658. 1:06:50referring to uh no ma'am I really do not
1659. 1:06:53know that search intensifies both Susan
1660. 1:06:56and David take polygraph tests
  1661. 1:06:58an investigator confronts Susan
1662. 1:07:01demanding to know why she killed her
1663. 1:07:03children she storms out of the room
  1664. 1:07:05jeopardizing wells's investigation it
1665. 1:07:08took almost six minutes or thereabouts
1666. 1:07:12for the car to sink and again the car
1667. 1:07:13basically went turned it over and then
1668. 1:07:15what happens you start seeing water
1669. 1:07:18coming up ultimately in the floorboard
  1670. 1:07:20through the vents and I mean it's just
1671. 1:07:23it just comes up and ultimately covers
  1672. 1:07:25the camera
1673. 1:07:27um you could have heard of pin drop in
  1674. 1:07:30that courtroom
1675. 1:07:33I heard a noise it was almost like a
1676. 1:07:36giggle and I'll look over at Susan Smith
1677. 1:07:37and like the law clerk for the defense
1678. 1:07:40are um playing right notes or playing
  1679. 1:07:43Tic-Tac-Toe and she's giggling or
1680. 1:07:45whatever while this is playing and and
  1681. 1:07:48the jury's out
1682. 1:07:50so the jury comes in
1683. 1:07:52and I hear noise from the other side of
  1684. 1:07:54the courtroom
1685. 1:07:55and yes this time Susan was crying
1686. 1:07:58guilty of murder on both counts in the
1687. 1:08:01deaths of sons Alex and Michael today
1688. 1:08:03Susan Smith was sentenced for drowning
1689. 1:08:06her sons in a Union County Lake here at
1690. 1:08:08John D long Lake this is the memorial
1691. 1:08:10for Michael and Alex Smith it is just
1692. 1:08:12feet from the lake where they died in
1693. 1:08:14this letter sent to a reporter at The
1694. 1:08:16State newspaper their mother Susan Smith
1695. 1:08:17wrote quote I am not the monster Society
  1696. 1:08:20thinks I am I am far from it I was a
1697. 1:08:22good mother and I loved my boys and she
  1698. 1:08:25is always kind of taking a self-centered
1699. 1:08:28Focus over the years Tommy Pope was the
1700. 1:08:30prosecutor who tried the Susan Smith
1701. 1:08:31case 20 years ago somewhere in my
1702. 1:08:33obituary they're going to say he said
  1703. 1:08:34got it prosecuted Susan Smith's letter
1704. 1:08:36was a response to one she got from The
1705. 1:08:38State newspaper Smith wrote in part
1706. 1:08:40quote the thing that hurts me the most
1707. 1:08:42is that people think I hurt my children
1708. 1:08:43in order to be with a man that is so far
1709. 1:08:45from the truth I was not in my right
1710. 1:08:47mind if you look at the letter it's it's
1711. 1:08:50still more about her not about Michael
1712. 1:08:52and Alex not about the the regrets of
1713. 1:08:55hope says he doesn't talk about the case
1714. 1:08:57anymore unless he's asked about it he
1715. 1:08:59considers the trial a loss because Smith
1716. 1:09:01didn't get the death penalty for me it's
1717. 1:09:03kind of odd that I'm most famous for
  1718. 1:09:04something that I don't think is my
  1719. 1:09:05greatest accomplishment Smith's defense
1720. 1:09:07attorneys David Brock and Judy Clark are
1721. 1:09:09still working on high profile cases most
1722. 1:09:11recently Boston Marathon bombing suspect
1723. 1:09:13johar Tsarnaev the sheriff at the time
1724. 1:09:15Howard Wells ended up behind bars
  1725. 1:09:17himself following a 2010 investigation
1726. 1:09:19into public corruption as for Pope he's
1727. 1:09:21in private practice serves in the state
  1728. 1:09:23house and plans on a 2018 run for
1729. 1:09:25governor but he predicts more discussion
1730. 1:09:27on Smith given the fact that parole will
1731. 1:09:29eventually be enough to uh usually a
1732. 1:09:31quiet Town it lured thousands to the tip
1733. 1:09:33of John D long Lake Susan Smith founding
1734. 1:09:36her two young boys Alex and Michael in
1735. 1:09:38that Lake in Union County but the 1994
1736. 1:09:40murders would not be the last horror to
1737. 1:09:42take place two years later a family of
1738. 1:09:44seven drowned in that same spot while
1739. 1:09:46visiting the memorial for the Smith boys
1740. 1:09:47tonight we have the stories of two men
1741. 1:09:49who played an instrumental role in both
1742. 1:09:51tragedies and how they are coping more
1743. 1:09:53than 20 years Tim Baxley and Steve were
1744. 1:09:56both members of the Department of
  1745. 1:09:57Natural Resources aquatic investigation
1746. 1:09:59and Recovery team but what most people
1747. 1:10:01don't know is the same dive team that
1748. 1:10:02recovered the Smith boys was called back
1749. 1:10:04to this very spot just two years later
1750. 1:10:06to recover the bodies of seven more
1751. 1:10:08victims four of those children in 1994
1752. 1:10:10Susan Smith initially told investigators
1753. 1:10:12she was carjacked the suspect making off
1754. 1:10:15with her two boys Michael three and Alex
1755. 1:10:1714 months still in the back seat when he
1756. 1:10:20made me get out of the car you know try
1757. 1:10:22to get my children I've seen they just
1758. 1:10:23bathing please let me take a look that
1759. 1:10:25prompted officials to call in the dnr's
1760. 1:10:27dive team to Canvas nearby bodies of
  1761. 1:10:30water we didn't ask a lot of questions
1762. 1:10:31but we knew we knew we were looking for
1763. 1:10:33a car or we were looking for bodies Tim
1764. 1:10:36Baxley joined the dive team in 1990 and
  1765. 1:10:38admits it's not for everyone it was a
  1766. 1:10:40very tough job like I say it's not
  1767. 1:10:41recreational Diamond this is a mission
1768. 1:10:43that and you really have to have a call
1769. 1:10:45in for it to do it after swooping the
1770. 1:10:47shoreline of the lake the search turned
1771. 1:10:48up nothing Baxley and the rest of the
1772. 1:10:50team left Union and returned to their
  1773. 1:10:52daily routines
1774. 1:10:56was until he received a call from Steve
1775. 1:10:59Murrow on November 4th nine days after
1776. 1:11:01that initial search and I went out and
1777. 1:11:04actually laid hands on the car and I
  1778. 1:11:07don't know
  1779. 1:11:08determinate the body we're inside the
1780. 1:11:11team turned the car over to
1781. 1:11:13investigators to examine further Morrow
1782. 1:11:15says a lot of Tears were shed that night
  1783. 1:11:17I went home and I had a not a four and a
1784. 1:11:20half year old son and I went home and
  1785. 1:11:22played my wife I don't think we spoke
  1786. 1:11:24but they did I don't remember just and
1787. 1:11:27then I went out and played with him
1788. 1:11:29because I played the rest of the night
1789. 1:11:31but the trauma didn't stop there two
1790. 1:11:33years later Morrow and Baxley were
1791. 1:11:35called back to the exact same location
1792. 1:11:37this time the recovery Mission involved
  1793. 1:11:39seven victims
1794. 1:11:41they had stopped to look at The
1795. 1:11:43Monuments for the Smith boys when their
1796. 1:11:45car rolled down the boat ramp into the
  1797. 1:11:47water that was a very traumatic
1798. 1:11:49experience to you know to hold in but
1799. 1:11:51you man up you'd be the tough guy
  1800. 1:11:53following the 1996 drownings law
  1801. 1:11:55enforcement officials began recognizing
1802. 1:11:57a need for an outlet for those involved
1803. 1:11:59in traumatic experiences Morrow says he
  1804. 1:12:01did not initially see post-traumatic
1805. 1:12:02stress but it came through with the help
1806. 1:12:04of the program known as SC League my
  1807. 1:12:07wife and I had lost
  1808. 1:12:08an answer
1809. 1:12:11prior to previous and and I I was having
1810. 1:12:14trouble dealing with the fact that you
1811. 1:12:17know we've only born and lost it and
1812. 1:12:19these people you know are just giving
1813. 1:12:22them up following his breakthrough
  1814. 1:12:23Morrow became a counselor as a member of
1815. 1:12:25the Su meet peer group nobody is at
1816. 1:12:28Gordon Palace that they can just
  1817. 1:12:30deal with it after 96. we've had many
  1818. 1:12:33more
1819. 1:12:34um tragedies that have happened they may
1820. 1:12:36not have been the magnitude of these
1821. 1:12:39but they were a whole lot easier to deal
1822. 1:12:40with because we had somebody there he
1823. 1:12:42had somebody you could talk to the first
1824. 1:12:44night when the sheriff called and asked
1825. 1:12:46for assistance so we sent a team over in
1826. 1:12:48one of the first agents that went over
1827. 1:12:49was a forensic artist who works with an
1828. 1:12:53alleged victim and does a pretty good
1829. 1:12:55interview as well as doing the artist
  1830. 1:12:58sketch
1831. 1:12:59and when he completed his work that
1832. 1:13:01night he pretty much indicated that he
1833. 1:13:03thought there were some problems with
  1834. 1:13:04the Susan Smith's story
1835. 1:13:07so that was Bob Stewart just a few years
  1836. 1:13:09ago I believe on the 20th anniversary of
1837. 1:13:10all of this this park as you might
1838. 1:13:12imagine a lot of outrage not only in
1839. 1:13:13Union County where this happened all
1840. 1:13:15across the state of South Carolina and
1841. 1:13:16Nationwide people were outraged that
1842. 1:13:18this woman could come forward and tell
1843. 1:13:20such a lie and put people in such an
1844. 1:13:21uproarch so she says there's no motive
1845. 1:13:23but the prosecutor said there was a
1846. 1:13:24motive here and what was that a 23 year
1847. 1:13:25old Susan Smith wanted to have a
1848. 1:13:27relationship with a wealthy man in Union
1849. 1:13:28County a man who had told her he didn't
1850. 1:13:30want a family and for that reason they
1851. 1:13:32say she strapped her children inside the
1852. 1:13:33car and rolled it in John D long lake so
1853. 1:13:35that's the motive that prosecutors use
1854. 1:13:37there was some thought that they were
1855. 1:13:38going to try and get the death penalty
  1856. 1:13:39here David brought a high profile
1857. 1:13:40attorney took the case trying to keep
1858. 1:13:42her off death row instead she got those
1859. 1:13:4430 years but as you heard a few moments
1860. 1:13:45ago she could be eligible for parole in
1861. 1:13:47five years now I know you have followed
1862. 1:13:49this story do you know anything about
1863. 1:13:51her time in prison what can you tell us
1864. 1:13:52I know she hasn't been the model
1865. 1:13:53prisoner she has been written up at
1866. 1:13:55least five times on various charges
1867. 1:13:57there's drug use uh also she had sexual
1868. 1:14:00relations with two correctional officers
1869. 1:14:02that was when she was housed here in
1870. 1:14:03Columbia she has since been moved to
1871. 1:14:05Greenwood so when her probation here
1872. 1:14:07ring comes up in a few years from now
1873. 1:14:09all these things that have happened will
1874. 1:14:10come back and they'll look at it and
1875. 1:14:12they'll decide then you were in the
1876. 1:14:13courtroom during the trial talk to me
1877. 1:14:14about who Susan Smith was in that
1878. 1:14:16courtroom we heard a lot about Susan
1879. 1:14:18Smith inside that courtroom some of it
1880. 1:14:19very disturbing testimony we heard that
1881. 1:14:21she tried to commit suicide at the age
1882. 1:14:23of 13. she tried to commit suicide at
1883. 1:14:24the age of 18. she was sexually molested
1884. 1:14:26by a member of her own family for many
1885. 1:14:28years her father killed himself when she
1886. 1:14:30was only six years old so the the foods
1887. 1:14:32here tried to tell the jury look this
1888. 1:14:34woman has some mental issues this woman
  1889. 1:14:35has some problems this woman doesn't
1890. 1:14:37deserve the death penalty this woman
1891. 1:14:38doesn't deserve to die to these crimes
  1892. 1:14:40because she's pretty messed up I kind of
1893. 1:14:42have a feeling there will be public
1894. 1:14:43outrage when she's up for parole and the
1895. 1:14:45public will have something to say about
1896. 1:14:46it probably so and it could be that the
1897. 1:14:47offenses that she has committed Behind
1898. 1:14:49Bars might come back to biter when it
1899. 1:14:51comes for probation time so there's no
  1900. 1:14:52guarantee she's going to get probation
1901. 1:14:53but she certainly will probably be
1902. 1:14:55asking for that in about five years
1903. 1:14:56interesting the players in this case
1904. 1:14:58what's happened to them over the last 25
1905. 1:15:00years as we mentioned David Smith
1906. 1:15:01remarried he has two kids the prosecutor
1907. 1:15:03Tommy Pope is now a house representative
1908. 1:15:05representing Union County in the state
1909. 1:15:07house here in South Carolina the sheriff
1910. 1:15:09the man who said Susan Smith has been
1911. 1:15:11arrested in charge he served 90 days in
1912. 1:15:13prison he got caught up in a federal
  1913. 1:15:14corruption probe that's where David
1914. 1:15:15Brook he's 70 and he is still trying to
1915. 1:15:17keep people off of death row he takes
1916. 1:15:19cases each and every time John D long
1917. 1:15:21Lake that boat the boat the ramp has
1918. 1:15:23been closed because two years after all
1919. 1:15:25of this happened seven people drowned
1920. 1:15:27one night they went to that very same
1921. 1:15:29boat ramp the car went back into the
1922. 1:15:31water among the seven dead several
1923. 1:15:32children so they just made the decision
1924. 1:15:34let's shut that boat ramp down we'll
1925. 1:15:36move the memorial for the children here
1926. 1:15:37we'll make it safer for people who want
1927. 1:15:39to come and pay respect sin Smith has
1928. 1:15:40more than a year to go before her first
1929. 1:15:42parole hearing but she is starting to
1930. 1:15:44ask some of her relatives to help her
  1931. 1:15:45get out of prison
1932. 1:15:47she needs to show that she has something
  1933. 1:15:49here on the outside
1934. 1:15:51says a family member so she wants
1935. 1:15:53affidavits from us to basically vouch
  1936. 1:15:55that she's got a support system at home
1937. 1:15:58but will any of her family vouch for her
1938. 1:16:00right as of now no
  1939. 1:16:02says a family member I don't think
1940. 1:16:05anyone is going to be willing to help
  1941. 1:16:06her
1942. 1:16:07we're still hurting 30 years later about
  1943. 1:16:09Michael and Alex
  1944. 1:16:11I can't speak for everyone but I can
1945. 1:16:13tell you that I'm not interested in
  1946. 1:16:15helping her get out
1947. 1:16:16Smith has struggled with her behavior
1948. 1:16:18Behind Bars in 2000 she was disciplined
1949. 1:16:22for having sex with a prison guard
1950. 1:16:24then according to prison records
1951. 1:16:26obtained by the messenger Smith faced
1952. 1:16:28disciplinary action at least five times
  1953. 1:16:30between 2010 and 2015 for various
  1954. 1:16:33infractions including self-mutilation
1955. 1:16:36and the use and possession of Narcotics
  1956. 1:16:37or marijuana
1957. 1:16:39but more recently Smith has cleaned up
1958. 1:16:41her act presumably in the hopes that
1959. 1:16:43she'll be granted parole Susan Smith who
  1960. 1:16:46is serving a life sentence for the 1994
1961. 1:16:48murders of her children has a plan if
1962. 1:16:50she is successful in next year's parole
1963. 1:16:52bid she wants to visit the gravesite of
  1964. 1:16:54her two sons
  1965. 1:16:56she's never been there
1966. 1:16:57says one of her relatives who is in
1967. 1:17:00touch with Smith Behind Bars she feels
1968. 1:17:03like going there would be closure for
1969. 1:17:04her but not everyone is happy with her
1970. 1:17:06plans to visit the gravesite a relative
1971. 1:17:08of David Smith says that it's an outrage
1972. 1:17:11to expect her to pay her respects to the
  1973. 1:17:13boys she killed
1974. 1:17:14they would be grown men with families of
  1975. 1:17:16Their Own by now
  1976. 1:17:17says the Smith relative
1977. 1:17:19she took their entire life from them and
1978. 1:17:21now she wants to go visit them it's
  1979. 1:17:24ridiculous
1980. 1:17:25Susan Smith has long insisted that she
1981. 1:17:27was mentally ill when she killed her
  1982. 1:17:29children but that she wasn't a bad mom
1983. 1:17:30Smith's parole hearing will be held on
  1984. 1:17:33November 4 2024.
  1985. 1:17:35here's a timeline of those events
  1986. 1:17:37October 17 1994 Tom Finley son of the
1987. 1:17:40owner of the cosmo textile mill where
  1988. 1:17:42Susan Smith was a secretary writes a
1989. 1:17:44letter to Smith breaking off their
1990. 1:17:45Affair Findlay said in the letter he
  1991. 1:17:46didn't want children October 25th 1994
1992. 1:17:49Smith straps 14 month old Alex and
  1993. 1:17:51three-year-old Michael into a burgundy

  1996. 1:17:56into the water October 25th 1994 Smith
1997. 1:17:59reports to local police that a black man

2000. 1:18:04October 27 1994 Smith was to come to the
  2001. 1:18:07Union County Sheriff's Office in the

  2003. 1:18:10an FBI polygraph operator November 2nd
2004. 1:18:131994 Smith and her estranged husband
2005. 1:18:15David appear on National Television

  2007. 1:18:18children November 3rd 1994 Smith
  2008. 1:18:20confesses to police investigators at a
2009. 1:18:22local church to Drowning Alex and
2010. 1:18:23Michael after she strapped them into the
2011. 1:18:25back seat of her car and pushed it into
  2012. 1:18:26the lake November 3rd 1994 Department of
  2013. 1:18:29Natural Resources divers recover Smith's
2014. 1:18:31car from the lake with the bodies of
  2015. 1:18:32Michael and Alex inside November 3rd
2016. 1:18:341994 Union County Sheriff Howard Wells
  2017. 1:18:36holds a press conference informing the
2018. 1:18:38nation that Smith was charged with two
2019. 1:18:39counts of Murder in the drowning deaths
  2020. 1:18:40of her children November 6 1994 hundreds
2021. 1:18:43of mourners turn out for Michael and
2022. 1:18:44Alex's wake and funeral their bodies
2023. 1:18:46were placed in the same casket December
2024. 1:18:4812 1994 Smith is indicted on two charges
  2025. 1:18:51of murder January 16 1995 16th circuit
2026. 1:18:54solicitor Tommy Pope announces his
2027. 1:18:56decision to pursue the death penalty
  2028. 1:18:57July 10 1994 jury selection begins nine
2029. 1:19:01men and three women are chosen four
2030. 1:19:02black eight white all from Union County

2032. 1:19:07guilty on two counts of murder July 24
2033. 1:19:091995 the penalty phase of the trial
  2034. 1:19:12begins July 26 1995 David Smith
  2035. 1:19:15testifies against his ex-wife in
  2036. 1:19:16heart-wrenching testimony July 28 1995
2037. 1:19:19Smith is sentenced to life in prison and
  2038. 1:19:21is taken to prison September 11 2000
2039. 1:19:23Smith is found guilty of sexual
2040. 1:19:25misconduct for engaging in sexual acts
2041. 1:19:27with two prison guards while
2042. 1:19:28incarcerated two lawyers have gone on to
2043. 1:19:30make headlines after the Susan Smith
2044. 1:19:31trial Judy Clark with attorney David
2045. 1:19:33Brook Clark helped convince jurors that
2046. 1:19:35Smith was a Financial victim of sexual
2047. 1:19:36abuse who should not be executed Clark
2048. 1:19:38went on to spare the Unabomber from the
2049. 1:19:40death penalty two though Ted Kaczynski
2050. 1:19:42never forgave her for trying to make him
2051. 1:19:43look insane more recently she did not
2052. 1:19:45manage to save Boston Marathon bomber
2053. 1:19:47jokar sarnaya from the death penalty she
2054. 1:19:49also represented Olympics bomber Eric
2055. 1:19:50Rudolph and Jared lowner who tried to
  2056. 1:19:52assassinate representative Gabrielle
2057. 1:19:53Giffords and killed six others
  2058. 1:19:58foreign
2059. 1:20:00well that was interesting huh
  2060. 1:20:05yeah there's a lot to take in there
2061. 1:20:07um you know one thing that really
  2062. 1:20:09chapped me was
2063. 1:20:12to everybody everybody has their own
  2064. 1:20:15beliefs their own religion I don't knock
  2065. 1:20:18anybody's religion okay
2066. 1:20:21but when he used the saying from John 8
2067. 1:20:25verse 7 let he without sin cast the
  2068. 1:20:29first stone
2069. 1:20:30that was about adultery in the Bible
  2070. 1:20:33that wasn't about murder
  2071. 1:20:36it wasn't saying that you know
2072. 1:20:40just because you committed adultery or
2073. 1:20:43you robbed a banker you did that or you
2074. 1:20:45did this that you can't cast this stone
2075. 1:20:49at somebody who committed murder yeah I
2076. 1:20:52thought that was kind of far-fetched too
2077. 1:20:53that he would use that
  2078. 1:20:55um yeah she I mean but she wasn't
2079. 1:20:57committing adultery with Tom Finlay
2080. 1:21:00right right they were separated and uh
  2081. 1:21:03they weren't even living together
  2082. 1:21:04actually they were in a divorce
2083. 1:21:07uh divorce was granted before trial well
  2084. 1:21:12before the murders
2085. 1:21:14um so I don't know why he pulled that
2086. 1:21:16one out there I just I think that was
  2087. 1:21:18just a manipulative tactic for the
  2088. 1:21:21defense attorney I know he's got to do
2089. 1:21:22what he's got to do to save his client
  2090. 1:21:24because
2091. 1:21:26everybody deserves due process and has a
  2092. 1:21:30right to have a fair trial
  2093. 1:21:33but I think using that was
2094. 1:21:37pretty pretty really out there it really
  2095. 1:21:42was
2096. 1:21:44that I was like really what does that
2097. 1:21:46have to do with her murdering her tea
  2098. 1:21:48babies yes because her ex-husband
2099. 1:21:51cheated on her is the way that it sounds
2100. 1:21:54to me that's why she did it even though
2101. 1:21:57she was cheating on him to start off
  2102. 1:21:58with
2103. 1:22:06including family yeah for him he was
2104. 1:22:09using that thing to keep them from
  2105. 1:22:12casting
  2106. 1:22:13heard a death penalty that's what he
2107. 1:22:16used that for he flipped it and it
2108. 1:22:20drives me crazy when people flip Bible
2109. 1:22:22Bible verses to seat what they want it
2110. 1:22:26to suit and and that happens so often I
2111. 1:22:29mean it does more often than not
  2112. 1:22:31especially back in I don't know even a
2113. 1:22:34decade ago it was used a lot in court
2114. 1:22:37like pulling the Bible out and reading
2115. 1:22:39versus much it was used a lot
  2116. 1:22:43especially it when you're dealing with
2117. 1:22:45cases that that involves any sort of
2118. 1:22:47religion and and here we had um hardcore
2119. 1:22:51religious people on both sides of the
2120. 1:22:53family separate religions but they were
  2121. 1:22:57all religious
2122. 1:22:58nonetheless you know highly religious
  2123. 1:23:00very much so
  2124. 1:23:02I just didn't like that part I thought
  2125. 1:23:05that was yes
2126. 1:23:08attorney to do that that bothered me
2127. 1:23:12and even in the book that I read even
  2128. 1:23:16the author of that book I can't remember
2129. 1:23:18which one did not agree with what he
  2130. 1:23:22said either
2131. 1:23:24well the day fans pulled one hell hell
2132. 1:23:27of a job I'm just saying they they did
  2133. 1:23:30anything
  2134. 1:23:32um
2135. 1:23:32these uh Brock the main one that gives
2136. 1:23:36the closing arguments and um he he done
2137. 1:23:39a hell of a job and he was very
2138. 1:23:42expensive and you know who paid for him
  2139. 1:23:44for Susan
  2140. 1:23:46Bev
2141. 1:23:47paid for him mortgaged his house and
  2142. 1:23:50everything and I'm talking about 30
2143. 1:23:53years ago that you know it was costing
2144. 1:23:56him oh God hundreds of thousands to have
  2145. 1:23:59Brooke and uh Judy uh well-known
  2146. 1:24:03attorneys and uh
2147. 1:24:05uh honestly they won they did I mean she
2148. 1:24:09didn't get the death penalty see that's
2149. 1:24:10the only thing this trial was about it
2150. 1:24:12wasn't guilt or innocence because she
  2151. 1:24:15confessed
2152. 1:24:17about her sentencing right it was about
2153. 1:24:20was she going to be executed or or get
2154. 1:24:23life and uh actually the defense
2155. 1:24:27won because she didn't get the death
2156. 1:24:29penalty which is what the prosecution
  2157. 1:24:31was going for
  2158. 1:24:33so
2159. 1:24:35um also you know like I said earlier I
2160. 1:24:37do have those closing arguments I was
2161. 1:24:39able to find those and
  2162. 1:24:41um I'm gonna go ahead they're already
2163. 1:24:43uploaded to the channel I'll go ahead
2164. 1:24:44and make them public after this live
2165. 1:24:46that way any of you that want to hear
2166. 1:24:48those closing arguments you can listen
  2167. 1:24:51to them there
2168. 1:24:52um they're read out and of course
2169. 1:24:54because you could not take any kind of
2170. 1:24:56recording or anything into the trial
2171. 1:25:00um I think the first televised trial if
2172. 1:25:02I'm not mistaken was Pam smart which by
2173. 1:25:06the way is another skanker
2174. 1:25:08um I think she was the first American
2175. 1:25:11televised trial am I right pretty sure
  2176. 1:25:15I'm not sure I think you're right
  2177. 1:25:19but I think so I think so
  2178. 1:25:22but I personally think that trials
2179. 1:25:26should be televised it should be because
2180. 1:25:28the public gets so involved in the cases
2181. 1:25:32that we should be able to see what's
2182. 1:25:34going on in court you know I agree and
2183. 1:25:38in Alabama you can't even bring nothing
  2184. 1:25:40into a courtroom literally nothing
2185. 1:25:43um you can bring a pad and paper and
  2186. 1:25:46that's it there's there's literally
  2187. 1:25:48nothing else
2188. 1:25:50but I think they should televise it and
2189. 1:25:53um I watch Emily Baker and she agrees
2190. 1:25:57she thinks that they should be televised
  2191. 1:25:59as well when she is a
2192. 1:26:02an attorney that used to be a
  2193. 1:26:03prosecuting attorney as well for 17
2194. 1:26:06years she's been you know an attorney
2195. 1:26:11yeah well so what is everybody in the
2196. 1:26:14chat we got like nearly 90 in here what
2197. 1:26:17do you think was Susan just a
2198. 1:26:20cold-blooded gold digging piece of trash
  2199. 1:26:23or
2200. 1:26:26was she a mentally broken woman that
  2201. 1:26:30couldn't handle life
  2202. 1:26:32Like A or B
2203. 1:26:35put it in the chat let's let me see what
2204. 1:26:37you think because this is one of those
2205. 1:26:38torn cases people are torn about it like
2206. 1:26:41they believe she was failed since
  2207. 1:26:43childhood
2208. 1:26:45you know her dad killing himself and
2209. 1:26:47then her mom getting married to a guy
2210. 1:26:49that's molesting her her mom tells her
2211. 1:26:51to shut her mouth don't tell nobody
2212. 1:26:54um you're not supposed to tell when you
2213. 1:26:57have issues you keep that to yourself
  2214. 1:26:58and I don't know
  2215. 1:27:01it's a torn case
  2216. 1:27:03so what was A and B again a was what
  2217. 1:27:07a was she just a cold-blooded gold
2218. 1:27:11digging skank or B was she just uh
2219. 1:27:16failed all of her life totally unstable
2220. 1:27:19and should have never had the kids to
  2221. 1:27:21begin with
  2222. 1:27:22you know
  2223. 1:27:24well
  2224. 1:27:26yeah it's it's okay if I go for if I say
2225. 1:27:29for myself or you immediately until
  2226. 1:27:30they're done for myself it's part A and
2227. 1:27:33Part B because she was she cold
2228. 1:27:38bloodedly murdered those kids she
2229. 1:27:40watched those kids cry and beg for her
2230. 1:27:44mommy come get you know Mommy Mommy
2231. 1:27:46Mommy that's why she closed her eyes and
  2232. 1:27:48covered her ears I believe
2233. 1:27:50but she also had mental issues and she
2234. 1:27:55stated again several times that ways
2235. 1:27:59that she thought of harming her children
  2236. 1:28:01and harming herself
  2237. 1:28:03but
2238. 1:28:04there's a lot of us that have been
2239. 1:28:06through traumatic things in our life
2240. 1:28:09we've some of us have been the r word
2241. 1:28:13some of us have been s Aid some of us
2242. 1:28:16have been physically beaten by
  2243. 1:28:21significant others but we didn't choose
2244. 1:28:25to murder our children or murder anyone
  2245. 1:28:28else
2246. 1:28:30I get that the system failed her but did
2247. 1:28:34when she got older did she reach out to
2248. 1:28:37anybody did she knew it was wrong she
2249. 1:28:40knew right from wrong but so did the
2250. 1:28:43people around her knew that too but
2251. 1:28:45nobody seemed to do anything about it
2252. 1:28:47but laugh at her and take advantage of
  2253. 1:28:49her
  2254. 1:28:50because all these guys that she's
2255. 1:28:52sleeping with they would obviously know
2256. 1:28:54there's something wrong with her daddy
  2257. 1:28:56issues oh my God that's right that's
2258. 1:28:58exactly what she had was daddy issues
2259. 1:29:01did you if you noticed when she when she
2260. 1:29:03went to prison these guards she was
2261. 1:29:06having this relationships with too to
2262. 1:29:08get what she wanted from the outside
2263. 1:29:11um look how old they were you know they
2264. 1:29:13were like double her age the man she had
2265. 1:29:16the affair with at Winn-Dixie before she
2266. 1:29:19met David he was married man with kids
2267. 1:29:20she actually got pregnant by him and got
2268. 1:29:23an abortion and when he broke up with
2269. 1:29:25her she tried to kill herself so she had
2270. 1:29:27this history of every time she was
  2271. 1:29:29rejected by a man
2272. 1:29:32um she tried to kill herself and with
2273. 1:29:34that was a cry for attention to be like
2274. 1:29:37oh my gosh I'm here I'm not gonna you
  2275. 1:29:40know I think that's what she was looking
  2276. 1:29:42for was
2277. 1:29:43them to come back and rescue her it's
2278. 1:29:46like she searched for love forever and
  2279. 1:29:49and I don't know what the situation is
  2280. 1:29:52but
  2281. 1:29:53her her children
2282. 1:29:55should have been that love that
2283. 1:29:58unconditional love that she would never
2284. 1:30:01happen but but she looked farther than
  2285. 1:30:03that and that's why I said daddy issues
2286. 1:30:07it's if she just would have looked at
2287. 1:30:10what God gave her if he gave her
2288. 1:30:13two boys that would Unconditionally Love
2289. 1:30:16Her for the rest of her life
2290. 1:30:19absolutely the only thing is though it's
2291. 1:30:23like she is a set or a sex addict though
2292. 1:30:27you know so she couldn't get that from
  2293. 1:30:29her her boys
2294. 1:30:30was she though or was it that she
2295. 1:30:34thought that's the only way she could
2296. 1:30:36get males so that's what I think is that
2297. 1:30:38she used sex as a way to get the
  2298. 1:30:41attention I don't think she was a sex
2299. 1:30:42addict I think she used sex too
  2300. 1:30:47[Music]
  2301. 1:30:49you know so
2302. 1:30:51well yeah she's using sex to get what
  2303. 1:30:54she wants while she's in prison
2304. 1:30:57if she has sex with the guards they're
2305. 1:31:00gonna give her what she wants whatever
  2306. 1:31:02that may be
2307. 1:31:04yeah but she is having sex with all the
  2308. 1:31:06girls on there too
2309. 1:31:08anybody that looked masculine by the
2310. 1:31:11sounds of things so yeah
  2311. 1:31:14yeah but then again
  2312. 1:31:17yes that's what I think for protection
2313. 1:31:20and maybe they had commissaries and
2314. 1:31:23stuff that she had doesn't have access
2315. 1:31:25to and if she became their
  2316. 1:31:28thing
2317. 1:31:30um they would give them to her I mean
  2318. 1:31:33there's she's very calculating from the
2319. 1:31:36things I've read she goes after what she
2320. 1:31:40wants and she knows what she wants and
2321. 1:31:42she knows how to manipulate to get what
  2322. 1:31:44she wants
2323. 1:31:46it's like she turns it off and on from
2324. 1:31:49what I've read he uses her body
  2325. 1:31:54um I don't I don't even know it's it's
  2326. 1:31:57very it's a complicating sad sad
  2327. 1:32:00situation I tell you what I'm not gonna
  2328. 1:32:02lie I feel sorry for Susan
  2329. 1:32:07as a child yes I do I feel very sad for
2330. 1:32:11the for the little girl for the little
2331. 1:32:14to endure all of that abuse yes and then
2332. 1:32:19no one there to help her yes the child
2333. 1:32:23Susan that was ignored the child Susan
2334. 1:32:26that was uh pushed to the side told to
2335. 1:32:29keep your mouth shut don't tell family
2336. 1:32:31Affairs all that Susan is what made the
  2337. 1:32:34monster Susan
2338. 1:32:36and the monster her mother deserves a
  2339. 1:32:41person
2340. 1:32:42too I mean I just do she knew better
2341. 1:32:46and you know that there is no excuse for
  2342. 1:32:49what she did
2343. 1:32:51um people can say she was a great mother
2344. 1:32:53all day long and I believe she probably
2345. 1:32:56was so was Chris Watts right he was a
  2346. 1:32:58great father
2347. 1:32:59that does not take away what neither one
  2348. 1:33:02of them did
  2349. 1:33:03um
  2350. 1:33:05you know there there's no excuse there's
  2351. 1:33:07none
2352. 1:33:10at the end of the day they ruined they
2353. 1:33:12ended their lives and took away a future
2354. 1:33:18that those boys could have had and like
2355. 1:33:20they said those boys would be grown with
2356. 1:33:23families of their own right now
2357. 1:33:26I'm doing something you know there's no
2358. 1:33:29telling what they could have become
2359. 1:33:31absolutely but she took that away
2360. 1:33:36I would never trust those and I was
2361. 1:33:38shocked to read and find out if they
2362. 1:33:40trust her to get with their kids I was
2363. 1:33:43like are you kidding me I had to read
  2364. 1:33:45that again I was like I know I read that
  2365. 1:33:47wrong seriously that's not right right
2366. 1:33:50yeah remember I called you saying what
  2367. 1:33:53in the Sam heck
  2368. 1:33:56oh my God
2369. 1:34:00yes yes oh yeah okay yeah isn't that
2370. 1:34:04crazy it's insane she watched the kids
2371. 1:34:07while they were doing their interviews
  2372. 1:34:10or what have you
2373. 1:34:12oh yeah and did you hear the um Tommy
  2374. 1:34:15Pope the prosecution
2375. 1:34:17of just now in in one of his interviews
2376. 1:34:19he said yeah while this clip was showing
2377. 1:34:22the reenactment of the water you know
2378. 1:34:24and they even had the little dummy uh in
2379. 1:34:26the back seat and car seats I mean they
2380. 1:34:29literally did this reenactment spot on
2381. 1:34:31you know and they said she was sitting
  2382. 1:34:34over there playing Tic-Tac-Toe with her
2383. 1:34:36attorney and laughing while that was
  2384. 1:34:39playing
2385. 1:34:40like what in there and then when the
2386. 1:34:43jury came in she started to cry that is
  2387. 1:34:47disgusting
  2388. 1:34:50unbelievable
2389. 1:34:53the jury couldn't see that too bad the
2390. 1:34:56jury didn't get to see her first
  2391. 1:34:58reaction
2392. 1:35:01yeah they were in the room while she was
2393. 1:35:03laughing when it first was playing you
2394. 1:35:05know and they was making sure the type
2395. 1:35:07was going to play fun and everything no
2396. 1:35:08she was over there laughing
2397. 1:35:12and what makes that even worse is she
2398. 1:35:15was laughing during the first play and
2399. 1:35:18it seemed like she had saw it before
2400. 1:35:20right she's not even saw this yet this
  2401. 1:35:22reenactment
2402. 1:35:24the first time she was watching it she's
  2403. 1:35:26laughing
  2404. 1:35:27and playing Tic-Tac-Toe
2405. 1:35:29do you know how painful it is to drown
2406. 1:35:33have you ever nearly drowned has anyone
  2407. 1:35:36ever nearly drowned have not I'm
  2408. 1:35:38terrified of water
  2409. 1:35:40um I won't go on boats anymore because
  2410. 1:35:44of this incident
2411. 1:35:47um we were on the raft where you hold on
  2412. 1:35:50to
2413. 1:35:52the rope and The Handlebar on the rope
  2414. 1:35:56and you're on the circle raft that's
2415. 1:35:58flying and bumping you around and
  2416. 1:36:00everything
  2417. 1:36:02yes I back then I only weighed like 95
  2418. 1:36:06pounds I think soaking wet I was really
  2419. 1:36:09tiny
  2420. 1:36:11and
2421. 1:36:13um the guy that was driving the boat was
2422. 1:36:15like I'm not gonna go as fast as I
  2423. 1:36:16normally do because you're too little
2424. 1:36:17you'll fling off of here
  2425. 1:36:20well another boat
2426. 1:36:22crossed in front of us and there was no
2427. 1:36:25way to divert from their wake
  2428. 1:36:28and we flew over I lost
2429. 1:36:33you know my grip on the rope and of
2430. 1:36:38course I'm screaming might so my mouth
2431. 1:36:40is wide open when I hit the water I go
2432. 1:36:44in and I instantly swallow water and
  2433. 1:36:49start breathing in water
2434. 1:36:51it oh so bad and then when they get help
2435. 1:36:57you get the water out by doing that I'm
  2436. 1:37:01you know doing
2437. 1:37:03they do in the Heimlich and stuff on you
2438. 1:37:05it is very very painful
2439. 1:37:09so for those kids to go under and be
2440. 1:37:13breathing that water taking in that
2441. 1:37:16first breath I can tell you from
  2442. 1:37:19personal experience it's scary it hurts
2443. 1:37:24and you don't know what to do
2444. 1:37:28yeah oh my God I have read where
  2445. 1:37:31drowning is horrific
  2446. 1:37:34yes and I haven't been skiing on a boat
2447. 1:37:37or done anything like that since I
2448. 1:37:40haven't even been on a boat since then
2449. 1:37:42and back then I was 22 years old when
  2450. 1:37:48that happened
2451. 1:37:49and nope never will again no never never
2452. 1:37:56had to be taken the hospital and get
2453. 1:37:58checked out and make sure I was okay and
2454. 1:38:02make sure there was no more water in my
  2455. 1:38:04lungs and that I didn't because we were
  2456. 1:38:08in
2457. 1:38:09Texas Galveston water is not the
  2458. 1:38:12healthiest with pressure right I made
  2459. 1:38:15sure I didn't have any bacterial
2460. 1:38:17infections and put me on an antibiotic
2461. 1:38:19just to be safe you know yeah it was it
2462. 1:38:24was traumatic and it hurt my throat hurt
2463. 1:38:27for a good few days after that and my
2464. 1:38:30lungs it hurt to take a deep breath
2465. 1:38:33because of the intake and them pushing
  2466. 1:38:36on me
2467. 1:38:40the little boys their autopsies
2468. 1:38:44um showed that they were um alive of
2469. 1:38:47course when they drowned and
  2470. 1:38:51um
2471. 1:38:53the oldest one had tried to unstrap or
2472. 1:38:58undo the car seat one of his little
2473. 1:39:01hands was grasp around the car seat and
2474. 1:39:04the other one was smashed against the
2475. 1:39:07window where he was trying to get out
2476. 1:39:11and this is what they say and and that
2477. 1:39:14one um the one of the divers Steve
  2478. 1:39:17Morrow
2479. 1:39:19he is actually the one that found the
2480. 1:39:21car and was able to look in and see the
  2481. 1:39:24babies
2482. 1:39:25and he came up and it was horrific he is
2483. 1:39:29one of the ones that had to um unstrap
2484. 1:39:31the babies from the car he put him into
  2485. 1:39:34the ambulance
  2486. 1:39:36from the crime scene
  2487. 1:39:38and he's had
2488. 1:39:40a hell of a heart go with it since
2489. 1:39:45but he still does it you know he still
2490. 1:39:48does it he was actually also one of the
2491. 1:39:51ones that helped to um
  2492. 1:39:54cover the seven
2493. 1:39:56that happened in 96 you know that family
2494. 1:39:59had went out there to just I mean just
2495. 1:40:02to see the memorial they had teddy bears
2496. 1:40:05and flowers and they went there to visit
2497. 1:40:08and place the flowers and memorials you
2498. 1:40:11know out there and they said that the
  2499. 1:40:13car just
2500. 1:40:15one of them was an SUV
  2501. 1:40:17just took off
2502. 1:40:19and Witnesses says that they never saw
2503. 1:40:22any brake lights hit or anything as the
2504. 1:40:25SUV went into the water and then the
2505. 1:40:28another family member I think it was
2506. 1:40:30family member right behind them in a car
2507. 1:40:34they took off running to try to help
2508. 1:40:37them that was in the SUV and they drown
  2509. 1:40:39as well
2510. 1:40:41but there was four kids in that SUV and
2511. 1:40:44two of them were in car seats
  2512. 1:40:47that is horrible
2513. 1:40:49yeah and one of them was just uh an
2514. 1:40:53infant that was being babysat uh
  2515. 1:40:57the family
2516. 1:41:00do you think that family Annihilation is
  2517. 1:41:04it
2518. 1:41:05I know that that families of you know
2519. 1:41:09parents or dads or moms have been
2520. 1:41:11killing their families and stuff
2521. 1:41:13for a long time but do you think it's
2522. 1:41:16been going on for a long time or are we
  2523. 1:41:19now just all of a sudden
  2524. 1:41:22seeing it
  2525. 1:41:24more and more often oh yeah it's it's
  2526. 1:41:28it's been
  2527. 1:41:29forever
  2528. 1:41:31um
2529. 1:41:32it's been forever but it just seems to
2530. 1:41:36be getting worse and it seems it's just
  2531. 1:41:38like it's not even really
  2532. 1:41:41I don't know it
  2533. 1:41:43I don't know I can't even answer that
2534. 1:41:46Nelly but yes it's been going on forever
2535. 1:41:48and it's it does seem to be getting
2536. 1:41:51worse and like you say I don't know if
2537. 1:41:52it's because we have more information
2538. 1:41:53now and things get put out there more
2539. 1:41:55but even doing deep diving into these
  2540. 1:41:58cases
2541. 1:41:59um it seems like children have always
  2542. 1:42:02sadly
  2543. 1:42:03been one of the
2544. 1:42:06top victims of of so many crimes you
2545. 1:42:10know as children innocent yes when when
  2546. 1:42:14my son was in
  2547. 1:42:16sixth grade
  2548. 1:42:19sixth or seventh grade
2549. 1:42:21there was a house that was over there by
2550. 1:42:23this school and when Brandon got out of
2551. 1:42:26school there was tape all around it you
2552. 1:42:29know police tape every police officer in
2553. 1:42:33my little bitty town was there
2554. 1:42:37and on the news it came out that the
  2555. 1:42:40wife had murdered
2556. 1:42:43the two younger kids when they got home
2557. 1:42:47then murdered the Junior High kid when
2558. 1:42:49he got home and turned the gun on
  2559. 1:42:52herself
2560. 1:42:54and the dad came home to find his entire
  2561. 1:42:57family deceased
2562. 1:43:00and she did it because
  2563. 1:43:03the husband
2564. 1:43:06could no longer handle the way she was
2565. 1:43:09treating the children in her
2566. 1:43:12disciplinary actions so he was filing
2567. 1:43:15for divorce and he was gonna take
  2568. 1:43:18custody of the kids
2569. 1:43:20so she killed them and herself so that
  2570. 1:43:24way he wouldn't have anything
2571. 1:43:27and that's what she left in her note
2572. 1:43:30yeah so many times child custody
2573. 1:43:35that that does happen so you know if
2574. 1:43:38you're not getting my kids you know I'll
2575. 1:43:40take them both and and a lot of people
2576. 1:43:42think maybe that was the situation with
  2577. 1:43:43this case it wasn't
2578. 1:43:46um wasn't it a lot of people says why
2579. 1:43:48didn't she give the kids to David he
2580. 1:43:50wanted them you know no uh that wasn't
2581. 1:43:53what the divorce said the divorce was
2582. 1:43:56there was not even any argument over
2583. 1:43:58custody at all with those two it was
  2584. 1:44:00like
2585. 1:44:01uh already said there that she was going
2586. 1:44:04to get primary and of course he was
2587. 1:44:06going to get visitation that's what they
  2588. 1:44:07both wanted
  2589. 1:44:09and
2590. 1:44:10uh she took the kids to Winn-Dixie like
2591. 1:44:13almost every day after she picked him up
2592. 1:44:15from daycare to see him you know that's
2593. 1:44:18where he worked he was a manager
  2594. 1:44:20um
  2595. 1:44:21ironically oddly enough now
2596. 1:44:25she was a David was dating uh Tiffany
2597. 1:44:30while he was married to Susan and then
2598. 1:44:33of course he left Susan and he continued
2599. 1:44:35to to date Tiffany and after Susan went
2600. 1:44:39to uh prison they got married and then
2601. 1:44:42they had a little girl I think her name
  2602. 1:44:44was Savannah
2603. 1:44:45uh Tiffany and David did
  2604. 1:44:48and um
2605. 1:44:50David also has a son that he was
2606. 1:44:55that was born from an extramarital
  2607. 1:44:58affair
2608. 1:44:59while he was married to Tiffany and I
  2609. 1:45:02think the son is younger I think he's
2610. 1:45:04like uh three two or three years younger
2611. 1:45:08than his and Tiffany's and him and
  2612. 1:45:11Tiffany is from
  2613. 1:45:13only thing I could see I guess they're
  2614. 1:45:16still together
2615. 1:45:18but uh seems like David you know he he
2616. 1:45:22also and he admitted himself that he was
2617. 1:45:25a lousy husband that was his words
2618. 1:45:28he admitted uh a few times worried
  2619. 1:45:31through Susan around
  2620. 1:45:34abusive to her
  2621. 1:45:37um
  2622. 1:45:38cheated on her
  2623. 1:45:39all the time
2624. 1:45:41and he left her and moved back in with
2625. 1:45:44his grandma right after they bought
  2626. 1:45:46their first house
2627. 1:45:48um he left her and Michael
2628. 1:45:51and then he came back and that's when
2629. 1:45:54she got pregnant with Alex
2630. 1:45:56and then after Alex was born Alex was
  2631. 1:45:59only I don't know just a couple months
2632. 1:46:02old he left Susan again
2633. 1:46:05and moved back to his grandma's and it
2634. 1:46:08was just constantly back and forth back
2635. 1:46:10and forth and it seemed like every time
2636. 1:46:12Susan was having any kind of breakdown
2637. 1:46:14mentally she would turn to The
  2638. 1:46:16Stepfather of hers
2639. 1:46:18and I mean they had had they had slept
2640. 1:46:22together you know less than two months
  2641. 1:46:24before these murders
2642. 1:46:28so she never stopped sleeping with the
2643. 1:46:30stepfather The Stepfather in my opinion
  2644. 1:46:32groomed her as a child
2645. 1:46:34he took responsibility for it he did but
2646. 1:46:39he also threw out there in the
2647. 1:46:42trial that yeah he did molester and he
2648. 1:46:46does bear a lot of this while her head's
  2649. 1:46:48so messed up
2650. 1:46:49but her mom and her decided not to ever
2651. 1:46:53press charges against him so even though
2652. 1:46:57there was an investigation the CPS was
2653. 1:46:59aware of it the school was aware of it
2654. 1:47:01and as I say the police department came
2655. 1:47:03out to do an investigation on this
  2656. 1:47:05molestation
  2657. 1:47:07um
2658. 1:47:08since they didn't want to press charges
2659. 1:47:10all of the records were tightly sealed
2660. 1:47:13100 sealed and never spoke about again
2661. 1:47:18um which is very unfortunate that man
  2662. 1:47:20was a pedophile and I don't care how you
2663. 1:47:23look at it he was a pedophile
  2664. 1:47:29I'm surprised the D.A didn't take it on
2665. 1:47:32you know like the state go ahead and
2666. 1:47:34just do it it does now
2667. 1:47:44uh so done with it says that uh hoping
  2668. 1:47:47to be paroled in 2025 it's actually
  2669. 1:47:492024. uh November the 4th 2024 is when
2670. 1:47:53she's going out for pro I don't see her
  2671. 1:47:55getting it I hope she doesn't get it
2672. 1:47:59um so she has inherited a hundred
2673. 1:48:02thousand dollars from the sale of her
  2674. 1:48:03mom's house uh she yeah I know she's
2675. 1:48:06worth a lot of money the last I heard
  2676. 1:48:08she was worth at least 200 000. so she's
2677. 1:48:13she's well set up you know either way I
2678. 1:48:16mean in her commentary or whatever she's
  2679. 1:48:20she's set up
  2680. 1:48:25that's so disgusting
  2681. 1:48:30yeah I don't think she will either and I
  2682. 1:48:32I hope she don't you know I'm completely
2683. 1:48:35on David's side of her never getting out
  2684. 1:48:37again she doesn't deserve it ever
2685. 1:48:42she took those baby's breath away okay
2686. 1:48:44she don't deserve to breathe fresh air
  2687. 1:48:47in my opinion either
2688. 1:48:52um does anybody else have any questions
2689. 1:48:55Dave Nelly y'all got anything to say
2690. 1:49:03she deserves to be out I think she
2691. 1:49:06deserves to stay in prison I really
2692. 1:49:10think she deserved the death penalty not
2693. 1:49:13this life in prison full Kaka
2694. 1:49:17oh yeah if she would have got lost she
2695. 1:49:19would have already been executed
  2696. 1:49:21um
  2697. 1:49:22you know
  2698. 1:49:24and I don't think she I think she should
2699. 1:49:26have got if they were gonna do life than
2700. 1:49:28life without the possibility of parole
2701. 1:49:31so that way this poor family doesn't
2702. 1:49:34have to go through this every so many
2703. 1:49:36years having to go up there and fight
2704. 1:49:40why she shouldn't get out all it does is
2705. 1:49:44take those poor people back to that day
2706. 1:49:46that they already live in pretty much
2707. 1:49:49every day of their life anyway
2708. 1:49:52we all um we've all lost somebody that
  2709. 1:49:55we love
2710. 1:49:56and we know how we feel just by losing
2711. 1:50:01them to cancer or to an automobile
2712. 1:50:03accident or to a health condition we
2713. 1:50:07always still mourn that person can you
2714. 1:50:10imagine how someone feels to have to
2715. 1:50:13relive knowing that their babies were
2716. 1:50:16murdered by their mother or by their
  2717. 1:50:20sister by their daughter
  2718. 1:50:22I mean I could look at her I could I
  2719. 1:50:26couldn't either I couldn't look at her
  2720. 1:50:27and I don't think it's fair that these
2721. 1:50:30poor people have to go up there to have
2722. 1:50:33to fight to keep her butt where it's at
2723. 1:50:36because she deserves to be there
  2724. 1:50:38absolutely absolutely I'm sorry Dave I
2725. 1:50:42went on a tyrant and interrupted you go
2726. 1:50:44ahead and say yours I'm so sorry sweetie
  2727. 1:50:46okay I forgot
2728. 1:50:49go ahead no in most of these cases it's
2729. 1:50:52like everybody remembers like her name
2730. 1:50:56and like all these other women that have
2731. 1:50:58been killing their kids but it seems
2732. 1:51:00like the kids are forgotten like nobody
2733. 1:51:02knows their names and is very seldom
  2734. 1:51:04that they'll know that I was either two
2735. 1:51:06boys or a boy and a girl or whatever
2736. 1:51:08just that there was kids involved and
  2737. 1:51:11it's like I don't know I think they
2738. 1:51:13should actually spend more when they
2739. 1:51:16they do talk about these cases what the
2740. 1:51:18kids names actually were because
2741. 1:51:21that are actual victims of this and
2742. 1:51:24nobody knows who they are absolutely
  2743. 1:51:26absolutely they're the ones that hide
  2744. 1:51:29the ultimate price
2745. 1:51:31the ultimate price for all the damn
  2746. 1:51:33dysfunctions and both
2747. 1:51:36parents they play the ultimate price and
  2748. 1:51:39it is so
  2749. 1:51:41messed up man
2750. 1:51:43Mike Jay says how messed up I believe
2751. 1:51:46she's talking about the stepfather here
2752. 1:51:47I believe Susan was groomed
  2753. 1:51:51um I don't believe it happened when she
  2754. 1:51:52was 15 only I believe this man could
  2755. 1:51:55have been grooming her
2756. 1:51:56um since she was six and a half seven
2757. 1:51:59years old me too um it she supposedly
2758. 1:52:03now this is the story that um her and
  2759. 1:52:06her mom
2760. 1:52:07and even him eventually told
  2761. 1:52:11um was that when Susan was 15 that's
2762. 1:52:14when this started however and it was
2763. 1:52:16said how did this ever even start how
  2764. 1:52:19did whatever
2765. 1:52:20how did it even start right it was
2766. 1:52:23claimed that when Susan was 15 years old
2767. 1:52:27see her stepdad Bev has three other
  2768. 1:52:31children from a prior marriage all
2769. 1:52:33females so the one of the female
2770. 1:52:35daughters came and spent the night with
2771. 1:52:37them one night and they gave her Susan's
2772. 1:52:41bedroom so Susan was left to sleep on
  2773. 1:52:43the living room couch
2774. 1:52:45and it was said that while she was
2775. 1:52:48laying on the living room couch
2776. 1:52:50her stepdad Bev was at the other end of
  2777. 1:52:53the couch and
2778. 1:52:55um instead of asking him to get up and
2779. 1:52:57move she just got over there and sat
2780. 1:53:00down in his lap and acted like she fell
2781. 1:53:02asleep on his chest now this is when she
  2782. 1:53:05was 15 years old
  2783. 1:53:07okay I'm gonna stop right there what 15
  2784. 1:53:10year old
2785. 1:53:11jumps up in her step dad's lap lays her
  2786. 1:53:14head on his chest
  2787. 1:53:16and goes to sleep
  2788. 1:53:18now that
2789. 1:53:20I can see I don't know three four or
  2790. 1:53:23five years old whatever but 15.
2791. 1:53:27another chance so there was in my
2792. 1:53:30opinion there was something going on
2793. 1:53:32before that time now she told her mom
2794. 1:53:36and this is when her mom became aware
2795. 1:53:39or so they say at the molestation is
2796. 1:53:41when she was 15. but they told the mom
2797. 1:53:44that what happened was she fell asleep
  2798. 1:53:48in his lap
2799. 1:53:50and she felt him under her shirt you
2800. 1:53:52know fondling her and then
2801. 1:53:56he had taken her hand and placed it on
  2802. 1:53:59him
2803. 1:54:00and she said she continued to act like
2804. 1:54:02she was asleep oh while this was
2805. 1:54:06happening and she told her mom the
2806. 1:54:07reason that she didn't stop him was
2807. 1:54:11because she wanted to see how far he
2808. 1:54:13would take it and then the next morning
2809. 1:54:15is when she went to school until the
2810. 1:54:17guidance counselor who in turn told her
2811. 1:54:21she needed to go home and tell her
2812. 1:54:23mother and the guidance counselor of
2813. 1:54:25course contacted CPS who contacted the
  2814. 1:54:27police department
2815. 1:54:29uh Mom jumped on her you can't do this
2816. 1:54:32you're going to destroy our family you
2817. 1:54:34can't be telling people stuff like this
2818. 1:54:36I mean you know why did you sit there
2819. 1:54:39and let him do that
2820. 1:54:41and even as she got older like even when
  2821. 1:54:46she was 17 18.
2822. 1:54:49when she was 18 she finally admitted to
2823. 1:54:52her therapist and yes she had was having
2824. 1:54:54to have counseling for this
2825. 1:54:57um she finally admitted to the therapist
2826. 1:54:59that the uh sex she was having with her
2827. 1:55:03stepfather was totally consensual now
2828. 1:55:05and so the therapist asked her why or I
2829. 1:55:09mean why is this happening you know this
2830. 1:55:11is your stepfather why why are you
2831. 1:55:13allowing this and and why are you saying
  2832. 1:55:15it's consensual
2833. 1:55:17and she said well it is consensual she
2834. 1:55:20said uh the thing of it is is to be
2835. 1:55:23honest and this is Susan telling the
2836. 1:55:25therapist she said to be honest
  2837. 1:55:29um I believe I deserve as much attention
2838. 1:55:30from him as my mom does and if we're not
  2839. 1:55:34having
2840. 1:55:35um sex then I'm not getting the
2841. 1:55:37attention from him that I deserve now
2842. 1:55:39that's Susan telling the therapist
2843. 1:55:41that's at 18 years old okay so you can't
2844. 1:55:44tell me that her mind
2845. 1:55:47obviously she wasn't right but why was
2846. 1:55:51she competing with her mom
2847. 1:55:53for attention from the stepfather and
  2848. 1:55:56why did she think
2849. 1:55:58that getting his attention meant having
  2850. 1:56:00sex with him
2851. 1:56:02okay well that goes back to being
2852. 1:56:04groomed but to me the whole thing is is
2853. 1:56:07it's almost like the mother
2854. 1:56:09uh let this all happen in order to keep
2855. 1:56:12her husband otherwise he would leave her
2856. 1:56:15for somebody else so she didn't let
  2857. 1:56:17everything happen so yeah the mother's
2858. 1:56:20big to blame here in my opinion now she
  2859. 1:56:22wrote a book I haven't read her book but
  2860. 1:56:24I'm going to
2861. 1:56:26um I want to know what her
  2862. 1:56:28story was the mother's book I don't
  2863. 1:56:31think I can read it because I don't want
  2864. 1:56:34to hear her
  2865. 1:56:36[ __ ] excuses yeah I believe them I
  2866. 1:56:40believe I blame Susan's mom a lot
  2867. 1:56:44um she was it I don't know I know you
2868. 1:56:46read this Nelly but another thing that
2869. 1:56:49really upset me about the mom was okay
  2870. 1:56:52you remember us talking about David's
2871. 1:56:55brother died 11 days before the wedding
2872. 1:56:59right 11 days and he was buried at that
2873. 1:57:03you know his funeral was at that one
2874. 1:57:05church that we talked about
  2875. 1:57:07okay
  2876. 1:57:09David's family
2877. 1:57:11was grieving think about it the dad even
2878. 1:57:15tried to take its own life right
2879. 1:57:18they were grieving hard over their son
  2880. 1:57:20that just passed away
2881. 1:57:24Susan's mother was like no I've already
2882. 1:57:27put too much money into this wedding I
  2883. 1:57:29have already
2884. 1:57:31um invitations out of all this plans no
  2885. 1:57:34the wedding's gonna go on I'm sorry you
2886. 1:57:37know that you had a funeral like nine
2887. 1:57:39days ago uh but but we're gonna go ahead
2888. 1:57:42with this wedding and you know who that
2889. 1:57:45reminded me of that's so messed up
  2890. 1:57:49um
  2891. 1:57:49I mean they're great they're grieving
  2892. 1:57:52their child's dead yes I mean come on
2893. 1:57:56the wedding is the last thing they care
  2894. 1:58:00about right now exactly and Susan's
2895. 1:58:03mom's like no we're gonna have the
2896. 1:58:04wedding what do the gal show up or not
2897. 1:58:06you know we're gonna have it well
2898. 1:58:08as we said you know his family did show
2899. 1:58:11up but Mom stayed outside because it was
2900. 1:58:13a Methodist Church and that had nothing
2901. 1:58:15to do with The Grieving part it was just
2902. 1:58:17she wouldn't even go into the sun
  2903. 1:58:19grandson's funerals either
2904. 1:58:21I'm not sure how they called The Church
2905. 1:58:24in the venue and let them know what
2906. 1:58:27happened they would have probably
2907. 1:58:28accommodated them yes they may have
2908. 1:58:31charged a little bit extra for having to
2909. 1:58:34you know move things around and losing
2910. 1:58:38having another wedding at that point but
2911. 1:58:42he died eight days before the wedding in
2912. 1:58:45eight days they could have called
2913. 1:58:47somebody else to take over at that
2914. 1:58:49wedding exactly all she had to do was
2915. 1:58:53call and say look and
  2916. 1:58:55the groom's brother unexpectedly died
2917. 1:58:59we need to move this wedding
  2918. 1:59:02and I'm sure they would have
2919. 1:59:04accommodated her you know they would
2920. 1:59:06have even the kind whoever catered it
2921. 1:59:09and things like that totally understood
  2922. 1:59:11I mean but I mean there's some things
2923. 1:59:13that are just out of your control yeah
2924. 1:59:16it's just like both families had their
2925. 1:59:19own sets of issues I mean think about it
  2926. 1:59:21Susan Smith is also David's Stepmother's
2927. 1:59:25uh name right her name's Susan too and
2928. 1:59:30she committed suicide too I mean she
2929. 1:59:32she's two two years I think it was after
2930. 1:59:34Michael and Alex she committed suicide
2931. 1:59:37and his dad had tried to commit suicide
2932. 1:59:39and Susan had tried to commit suicide
2933. 1:59:42numerous of times and the molestation
2934. 1:59:44and the mom uh defending the stepdad and
2935. 1:59:48and then her continuing this
  2936. 1:59:50relationship with the stepfather
2937. 1:59:52um up to a month you know just a little
2938. 1:59:54over a month before she murdered the
  2939. 1:59:56kids it's like
2940. 1:59:58oh my God it's just so dysfunctional
2941. 2:00:02good Lord there was nothing good going
2942. 2:00:03to come into anything there
2943. 2:00:06it almost sounds like the wells too
2944. 2:00:09wow yeah I mean how do you even wrap
2945. 2:00:12your head around all that and it's like
2946. 2:00:16the babies were just there you know they
2947. 2:00:18were just there and I said they say
2948. 2:00:20Susan was an amazing mom and David they
2949. 2:00:22were both amazing parents but when
2950. 2:00:24you've got all this dysfunction
  2951. 2:00:26the lessons some something's gonna
  2952. 2:00:29happen I mean literally something is
2953. 2:00:31nothing's good going to come of this
2954. 2:00:35and unfortunately it does seem to be the
2955. 2:00:38children every time that ends up paying
2956. 2:00:40the ultimate price for all of the
  2957. 2:00:42dysfunction that they're born into and
  2958. 2:00:45it's so damn unfortunate
  2959. 2:00:48uh that's why these kind of that's why
2960. 2:00:50we do these cases and things like that
  2961. 2:00:53uh there's signs y'all there is Sons and
2962. 2:00:58if you know them and and people don't
2963. 2:01:01like to get involved in other people's
  2964. 2:01:02business I get that it's like you know
  2965. 2:01:05she's that [ __ ] crazy she don't need to
2966. 2:01:07have them kids you know and it's sad
2967. 2:01:10but somebody Somebody's gotta be the bad
  2968. 2:01:13guy and step up
2969. 2:01:15much the same as the the Watts like the
  2970. 2:01:18route 6 they lived there for 18 months
2971. 2:01:20and they didn't do a damn thing to help
2972. 2:01:22them little girls you know they could
2973. 2:01:24have stood up against China and say hey
2974. 2:01:26unlock the damn doors take the the locks
2975. 2:01:29off you know yeah I mean so nobody there
2976. 2:01:32somebody's got to be the bad guy
2977. 2:01:35it got to be because if you don't have
2978. 2:01:38at least one person that's going to be
2979. 2:01:40the bad guy and step up and go look
2980. 2:01:41y'all this y'all gonna have to do
2981. 2:01:43something here you know or I'm gonna
2982. 2:01:46take these kids myself until you get
  2983. 2:01:48your [ __ ] worked out either way
2984. 2:01:49somebody's got to be the bad guy people
2985. 2:01:51hate the bad guy I get that but think
2986. 2:01:54about uh hell American Idol Simon Cowell
2987. 2:01:56he was the bad guy but who was the most
2988. 2:01:58respected dude on the show
  2989. 2:02:01all right
2990. 2:02:07for them to check into it if you don't
2991. 2:02:11want your name out there me personally
  2992. 2:02:13whenever I've called CPS I've given my
  2993. 2:02:16name I don't give a [ __ ] if the person
  2994. 2:02:18knows they're treating their kids
2995. 2:02:19horrible and that kid needed to be taken
2996. 2:02:23away and that kid got taken away the
2997. 2:02:26girl hates me with the passion and talks
2998. 2:02:30about me as often as she can but you
2999. 2:02:33know what at least that baby is now in a
3000. 2:02:36good home and is being taken care of and
  3001. 2:02:39that's left
3002. 2:02:40that's good you don't go sneak off to go
3003. 2:02:43see your new man and leave your
  3004. 2:02:48two-year-old
  3005. 2:02:49your 18 month old and your five-year-old
3006. 2:02:53to watch over them while they sleep and
3007. 2:02:57you hurry up and come back the next
3008. 2:02:59morning a candle was still lit the
3009. 2:03:03candle tipped over and the living room
  3010. 2:03:05caught on fire
  3011. 2:03:07oh my God
3012. 2:03:10that's how it got that's how she got
3013. 2:03:13caught and you bet your bottom dollar
3014. 2:03:15when we lived in those apartments I
  3015. 2:03:18called
  3016. 2:03:20I didn't care yeah
3017. 2:03:23well I mean you you know you could
3018. 2:03:24probably did save this child
  3019. 2:03:27like I was reading a story today of a
3020. 2:03:31mom and uh her parents everybody around
3021. 2:03:35her knew she was just a raging
3022. 2:03:37um meth head right and she had her kids
3023. 2:03:41of course uh she had her kids in her
3024. 2:03:43apartment and nobody heard from her for
3025. 2:03:46a few days and so
3026. 2:03:49um someone called in a welfare checked
3027. 2:03:51and cops looked through the window and
3028. 2:03:52sure enough they see her
3029. 2:03:56light out there on the floor
3030. 2:04:00and they see a little girl just running
3031. 2:04:03around around in the house with no
3032. 2:04:05clothes on so that's obviously we can
  3033. 2:04:09kick this door down there's a medical
3034. 2:04:10emergency obviously right so they do
3035. 2:04:14they kick the door down
3036. 2:04:16they go inside and the mother is
3037. 2:04:19obviously OD'd uh the meth had fentanyl
3038. 2:04:23in it uh the autopsy has brought that
3039. 2:04:26back but anyway the little
3040. 2:04:27three-year-old girl was just she had
3041. 2:04:31done her best uh she was eating candy
3042. 2:04:33all kinds of stuff just to survive but
3043. 2:04:37the kicker of it was this
3044. 2:04:40um six months old in a car seat in the
3045. 2:04:42bedroom on the floor a baby uh strapped
  3046. 2:04:46in its car seat
3047. 2:04:48deceased it had died of malnutrition yes
3048. 2:04:52and this happened like over the weekend
3049. 2:04:54it had died of malnutrition and
3050. 2:04:57dehydration but what is so sad also to
  3051. 2:05:01this is the three-year-old
3052. 2:05:04didn't talk that well if hardly at all
3053. 2:05:07however you could tell they said that
3054. 2:05:10she was trying to help her little
3055. 2:05:13six-month-old brother because there was
3056. 2:05:15eggshells and raw egg that was dried on
3057. 2:05:19the baby she was trying to feed it oh
3058. 2:05:22wow yes and um water watering cups that
3059. 2:05:27she had gotten out of the toilet because
  3060. 2:05:29she couldn't reach the sink
  3061. 2:05:31oh no poor baby
3062. 2:05:35and this this was just like within the
3063. 2:05:40last week oh wow yes
  3064. 2:05:44um
3065. 2:05:45I'll find the story I was writing on it
3066. 2:05:47I was like thought about putting it on
3067. 2:05:50the other the breaking Crown News
  3068. 2:05:51Channel but I'm just like no
  3069. 2:05:54no
  3070. 2:05:56um I don't know I want to say it was in
3071. 2:05:59pencil no it was in Tennessee it was in
  3072. 2:06:01Tennessee
3073. 2:06:02bye you said that this happened to her
3074. 2:06:05son's baby mama dopehead found my
  3075. 2:06:08grandson wandering around a golf course
  3076. 2:06:12oh wow that's horrible I am so sorry
  3077. 2:06:16foreign
  3078. 2:06:18that's
  3079. 2:06:19horrific
  3080. 2:06:21yeah I mean it's it's so unfortunate and
3081. 2:06:24like I say with all this dysfunction and
3082. 2:06:27going back to that one I was just
3083. 2:06:28telling you about that happened recently
3084. 2:06:31um you know her family knew she had this
  3085. 2:06:34problem
  3086. 2:06:36right obviously
  3087. 2:06:38um
3088. 2:06:40why was that why were they not heard
  3089. 2:06:43from for I don't remember how long it
  3090. 2:06:45was
3091. 2:06:47but it was a length of time obviously
3092. 2:06:49because the baby had already passed away
  3093. 2:06:52from malnutrition and dehydration
3094. 2:06:55and the little girl was very well on her
  3095. 2:06:58way there as well
3096. 2:07:01why wait that long when you have not
3097. 2:07:03heard from someone you know has these
3098. 2:07:05little children and they are a raging
  3099. 2:07:09drug addict
3100. 2:07:12as I say somebody's got to be the bad
  3101. 2:07:15guy
3102. 2:07:17like I said if you see something say
3103. 2:07:20something you never know your little bit
3104. 2:07:24of saying something could save
3105. 2:07:28a child or could save a person you never
3106. 2:07:31know absolutely no matter how
3107. 2:07:34insignificant you think it is
3108. 2:07:37it could be something big that busts a
3109. 2:07:40case wide open you just never know
3110. 2:07:43and so you know love save a little life
3111. 2:07:48that that wants to live man there's so
3112. 2:07:51many people out here that would take
3113. 2:07:53these babies in a flat minute oh yes
3114. 2:07:55there are people out there that can't
3115. 2:07:57conceive that would love to have a baby
3116. 2:08:02it's and then people like Susan Smith
3117. 2:08:05are murdering them you know I mean come
  3118. 2:08:09on
  3119. 2:08:10CSI did a
3120. 2:08:13um because you know CSI
3121. 2:08:15Miami and all them they take stuff out
3122. 2:08:18of headlines and then they turn it into
3123. 2:08:20a show that they cram everything into an
3124. 2:08:23hour yes and make it look like all the
3125. 2:08:26DNA and everything's done like in the
3126. 2:08:27lickety split yeah yeah and they did one
3127. 2:08:32where a little girl was walking around
3128. 2:08:35the neighborhood and she had blood on
3129. 2:08:37her little onesie feet or her little you
3130. 2:08:41know Shadow onesie on that went from her
3131. 2:08:42feet all the way up I forget what that's
  3132. 2:08:44called but
3133. 2:08:47um she was walking around the
3134. 2:08:48neighborhood and she had blood all over
  3135. 2:08:50her feet
3136. 2:08:51and they traced it back to her home and
3137. 2:08:55everyone in the home was killed
3138. 2:08:58and they were trying to figure out what
  3139. 2:09:00happened
3140. 2:09:01well they didn't make it the story
3141. 2:09:04didn't go the way it really happened but
3142. 2:09:07a lot of it did happen in real life to
  3143. 2:09:11somebody I went to school with
3144. 2:09:13her and her husband her husband was a
  3145. 2:09:18drug dealer
3146. 2:09:19they had a little boy and they had a
  3147. 2:09:23little girl
3148. 2:09:24the little boy was at his dad's house
3149. 2:09:27and their little girl was at home
  3150. 2:09:30and
3151. 2:09:31the guys came in and they wanted
3152. 2:09:34some drugs and they wanted to trade
  3153. 2:09:37their
3154. 2:09:38PlayStation or something for it
3155. 2:09:42and they said no that they weren't going
3156. 2:09:45to do that they had enough PlayStations
3157. 2:09:48that they were waiting for people to
3158. 2:09:49actually bring them money they wanted
  3159. 2:09:51money for it
3160. 2:09:53well the guy went back home
3161. 2:09:56and his wife I am friend was friends
  3162. 2:09:59with I don't talk to her anymore but
  3163. 2:10:02he went home
3164. 2:10:04got a gun and him and that other guy
3165. 2:10:06went back and they killed both of them
3166. 2:10:10and the little girl was in the playpen
  3167. 2:10:13watching everything unfold
3168. 2:10:16and they picked her up and took her out
3169. 2:10:20of the playpen so she could freely walk
3170. 2:10:22around the house and they didn't harm
3171. 2:10:25her but she was crying you know for her
3172. 2:10:28mommy and daddy she was she was barely
  3173. 2:10:3118 months old
  3174. 2:10:34so she didn't really understand that
3175. 2:10:36yeah what was going on when they left
3176. 2:10:39the door open and she pushed the screen
3177. 2:10:41door open and proceeded to walk around
  3178. 2:10:43the trailer park
3179. 2:10:45and she went to where the maintenance
3180. 2:10:47guy always was with the flowers and he
3181. 2:10:51had snacks for her and she would help
3182. 2:10:54him with the flowers every day the mom
3183. 2:10:56knew it and everything was fine
  3184. 2:11:01and um
3185. 2:11:02you noticed the blood on her feet went
3186. 2:11:06back to her house and the dad and the
3187. 2:11:09mom were both shot execution Style
  3188. 2:11:13oh my God
  3189. 2:11:16and the girl
3190. 2:11:18went to the her first they were never
3191. 2:11:23married her and the guy never got
3192. 2:11:25married that she had the son with
3193. 2:11:27but he did not want the children to be
3194. 2:11:30separated so he fought him and his wife
3195. 2:11:33fought tooth and nail to get that little
3196. 2:11:36girl and they finally won and now that
  3197. 2:11:40little girl
  3198. 2:11:42lives with them and she's actually
  3199. 2:11:45she'll be
3200. 2:11:46a senior in college this year oh wow it
3201. 2:11:50was and she's going to school to be a
  3202. 2:11:55crime scene oh really that's awesome
  3203. 2:11:58that's awesome see a positive from a
  3204. 2:12:02negative that's awesome
  3205. 2:12:04well
3206. 2:12:06you better not miss the next uh
  3207. 2:12:10skanker's ball I've been more of a
3208. 2:12:13secrecy because both Nelly and Kim know
  3209. 2:12:15where I live so I don't dare say a thing
  3210. 2:12:18it's gonna be a really good one I don't
3211. 2:12:22know it's probably going to be up there
3212. 2:12:24with uh uh Ken and Barbie but this one
3213. 2:12:28here people say this person is guilty
3214. 2:12:30and then half of them say this person is
3215. 2:12:34not guilty so yeah he could be the judge
3216. 2:12:37but don't miss this one yeah there will
  3217. 2:12:40be a long one guys it's a deep dive and
3218. 2:12:44you know bear with us it might be four
  3219. 2:12:47or five episodes long because there's a
3220. 2:12:50lot to go over with this case absolutely
3221. 2:12:54a bunch and can I have already started
3222. 2:12:58our research and we have spent hours and
3223. 2:13:01hours listening to things looking at
3224. 2:13:04things and finding more things that we
3225. 2:13:07weren't expecting to find and it's just
3226. 2:13:10like holy moly what did we get ourselves
  3227. 2:13:13yeah there's a lot there's a lot
  3228. 2:13:17but not gonna say if it's a guy or a
3229. 2:13:19girl that's involved in this one but
3230. 2:13:21right yeah I'll send it to you guys this
  3231. 2:13:23way I'm taking a week's vacation to go
3232. 2:13:27through this deep dive that's how big of
3233. 2:13:30a deep dive we're doing it is it's uh
3234. 2:13:34it's it's controversial if not more so
  3235. 2:13:36than the Watts case
  3236. 2:13:38[Music]
  3237. 2:13:39it's definitely
  3238. 2:13:41and I need my full attention I can't do
3239. 2:13:45accounting and running the floor and
3240. 2:13:50directing everybody where to go and try
3241. 2:13:53to research this because by the time I
  3242. 2:13:55get home I know right oh I wish I could
3243. 2:13:59tell them really where to go some people
3244. 2:14:03well um before we close this let me let
3245. 2:14:06me run back over here to this
  3246. 2:14:08um it's real quick and I think it's
  3247. 2:14:11important it's something that Mac J
  3248. 2:14:14brought to us I didn't have I had looked
3249. 2:14:16everywhere for it didn't have it and as
3250. 2:14:19I said I think that Tom Finlay is a POS
  3251. 2:14:23I'm sorry but I do
3252. 2:14:25um he seems like a narcissistic bastard
  3253. 2:14:27to me
  3254. 2:14:29um I'm sorry that's just the way I read
3255. 2:14:32him but um Mac Jay was able to get us
  3256. 2:14:38the actual letter
3257. 2:14:39uh from Tom and Susan's reply as well
3258. 2:14:45so uh we're gonna get this out here to
3259. 2:14:47you before we close this tonight because
3260. 2:14:49I think it needs to be a part of it you
  3261. 2:14:52know you'll kind of know also don't
3262. 2:14:54forget if you're interested in here in
3263. 2:14:57the closing arguments to this case as
3264. 2:15:00soon as this live ends I'm going to make
3265. 2:15:02it public and there is a hell of a lot
3266. 2:15:06in there you know about what happened
3267. 2:15:08during the trial evidence and things
3268. 2:15:10like that and it's very interesting very
  3269. 2:15:14very interesting I got I actually got a
3270. 2:15:17lot of my information from the closing
  3271. 2:15:19arguments
3272. 2:15:21that's true it did help with a lot of
3273. 2:15:24stuff and Mac J thank you so much for
3274. 2:15:28sending this to us we truly appreciate
3275. 2:15:30it we love that you guys help us and
3276. 2:15:34support us and this new route that we're
3277. 2:15:37taking and we truly thank you from the
3278. 2:15:39bottom of our heart absolutely and Matt
3279. 2:15:42Jay's also over like she's like the head
  3280. 2:15:44mod over our skanker's file chat
  3281. 2:15:46from our unjustified
  3282. 2:15:49um
  3283. 2:15:49Facebook group so if y'all like
3284. 2:15:52skanker's ball and you want to be a part
  3285. 2:15:53of that chat
3286. 2:15:55uh skankerball fans are up in there
3287. 2:15:58so and I'm working on trying to get us a
  3288. 2:16:01skanker balls you paid
  3289. 2:16:04YouTube page up and going I just haven't
3290. 2:16:07had the time to finish everything and
3291. 2:16:10send it to Kim for approval but yeah I
3292. 2:16:13am working on that so that way we'll
3293. 2:16:15have yeah the skankers ball so it
3294. 2:16:17doesn't get confused with everything
  3295. 2:16:19else you know right right that's a great
3296. 2:16:22idea and Mac Jay says that the letter
3297. 2:16:25actually came from Aunt Diane and she
3298. 2:16:27just passed it on so thank you very much
  3299. 2:16:29Aunt Diane much appreciated I'm hoping
3300. 2:16:32I'm going to be able to read this y'all
3301. 2:16:33with my birds if not
3302. 2:16:36I'll do my best I hope my birds act too
  3303. 2:16:39annoying no they're fun they're just
  3304. 2:16:42background noise they're they're all
3305. 2:16:44right they got lots to say they only got
3306. 2:16:46a couple hours of daylight they did uh
  3307. 2:16:52I wasn't saying anything okay I thought
3308. 2:16:55you were gonna say something sorry Echo
3309. 2:16:58okay all right let me pull this letter
3310. 2:17:00up so we can see it
3311. 2:17:03and again thanks to Mac J and Aunt Diane
  3312. 2:17:06for this
  3313. 2:17:08thank you guys
3314. 2:17:12okay so it looks like this is going to
  3315. 2:17:14be dated November the 1st 2008. Susan
3316. 2:17:17Smith's letter to Tom Finlay dear Tom
3317. 2:17:21just a note to say thank you for
  3318. 2:17:23everything I could never impress oh no I
3319. 2:17:26could never express in words how much
3320. 2:17:29you mean to me I will always treasure
  3321. 2:17:31our friendship and
3322. 2:17:34all of the many wonderful memories that
3323. 2:17:36we have made now remember this is
3324. 2:17:38November the 1st on this one okay the
  3325. 2:17:42boys were murdered October the 25th
3326. 2:17:46okay and then I think it was um
  3327. 2:17:50November the 3rd that she finally
3328. 2:17:54confessed that she's the one that did it
3329. 2:17:56so this is the first and this is what
  3330. 2:17:58she's thinking about
3331. 2:18:00she goes on to say I want you to know
3332. 2:18:02that I have never felt with anyone the
  3333. 2:18:05way I feel when I'm with you I have
3334. 2:18:08never felt so needed you are so very
3335. 2:18:11special you are such a very special
3336. 2:18:13person and that is part of why making
3337. 2:18:16love to you is so wonderful
3338. 2:18:19I know how you feel about our
  3339. 2:18:21relationship and I respect that I'm
3340. 2:18:24appreciative of your honesty with me I
3341. 2:18:27do want us to be friends forever and I
3342. 2:18:29will never let anything happen that
3343. 2:18:31would change that I do hope that we will
3344. 2:18:33be able to date some and be together
3345. 2:18:36again someday but if we never made love
3346. 2:18:39again my feelings for you would not
3347. 2:18:41change because you have because having
3348. 2:18:44you as my friend is worth more than sex
3349. 2:18:48could ever be worth once again I'm sorry
3350. 2:18:51for Saturday night and I would take it
  3351. 2:18:54back in a heart-shaped design a
  3352. 2:18:57heartbeat if I could
3353. 2:19:00I really wanted to be with you and hated
  3354. 2:19:02that I wasn't
3355. 2:19:05thank you for being there for me through
3356. 2:19:07all the rough times you are a true
3357. 2:19:10friend and I want you to know that I
3358. 2:19:12will always love and care for you for
3359. 2:19:13the rest of my life
  3360. 2:19:15you
3361. 2:19:16are the best friend anyone could ever
  3362. 2:19:19have
  3363. 2:19:20well I hope I said everything right the
3364. 2:19:23bottom line is I'm glad we are friends
3365. 2:19:25and if that is all we can be then we
3366. 2:19:29will just have to do a hell of a job at
  3367. 2:19:31being that
3368. 2:19:33who knows what the future holds for our
3369. 2:19:36relationship I'm just going to live one
3370. 2:19:38day at a time one more thing before I go
3371. 2:19:41please don't ever hesitate to call me if
3372. 2:19:45you ever need anything I will always be
3373. 2:19:47here for you friends forever with a
  3374. 2:19:50heart Susan
3375. 2:19:52now think about that and the timing of
  3376. 2:19:54that
3377. 2:19:56I mean seriously that was up November
  3378. 2:19:59the first what just
3379. 2:20:02yeah not even a week after she murdered
  3380. 2:20:05her kids that's sick there's not even
3381. 2:20:08any mention of her kids in this
  3382. 2:20:12because she didn't care that's why she
  3383. 2:20:14got rid of them
  3384. 2:20:17they did not disgusting
3385. 2:20:25Tom's letter and that letter right there
3386. 2:20:29proves that this isn't because of her
  3387. 2:20:32damn mental illness [ __ ]
3388. 2:20:36right I think so is too I think so as
3389. 2:20:39well so she can turn her mental illness
3390. 2:20:42off and on when it suits her
3391. 2:20:45come on yeah I mean the only thing she's
3392. 2:20:47worried about right there is him and
  3393. 2:20:50being with him I I think that says a lot
3394. 2:20:55what do you think Dave yeah what do you
3395. 2:20:58think about her writing him this a week
  3396. 2:21:01after while they're still looking for
3397. 2:21:03her kids even though she knows exactly
3398. 2:21:04where they're at this is two days before
3399. 2:21:07she confessed that goes back to her
3400. 2:21:10she's got to have somebody
3401. 2:21:12and for her it seems like it's just all
3402. 2:21:14about sex and nothing else
3403. 2:21:16and that's how it seems like with David
  3404. 2:21:18too because
3405. 2:21:20well he's like a dog you know so yeah
3406. 2:21:23like he there both of them are going
3407. 2:21:25from person to person to personally
3408. 2:21:27coming home and saying what's for supper
3409. 2:21:30and then once they get their supper
3410. 2:21:31they're back out looking again so what
3411. 2:21:34do you do with stuff like that or people
  3412. 2:21:35like that
3413. 2:21:36they both have problems and nobody did
3414. 2:21:39anything about it again so exactly you
3415. 2:21:42really can do do you think of Tom's
3416. 2:21:45response here would have been something
3417. 2:21:47different that she would have ever
  3418. 2:21:48confessed well a lot different
3419. 2:21:50a lot different you know so I think if
3420. 2:21:54he would have led her to believe that
3421. 2:21:56they were going to actually be together
3422. 2:21:57she would have never confessed and it's
3423. 2:21:59a possibility that those babies would
3424. 2:22:02still maybe be missing today yeah I
3425. 2:22:05don't think they would ever found them
  3426. 2:22:08yeah I don't think they would have
  3427. 2:22:09either
3428. 2:22:11so I think his response is possibly why
3429. 2:22:15she went ahead and confessed because she
3430. 2:22:16was like screw it it's you know you know
3431. 2:22:20because it was two days later
3432. 2:22:23unless they would have found them when
3433. 2:22:25those seven people were killed late you
3434. 2:22:28know later on there wouldn't have been
3435. 2:22:30founded for them being there though
  3436. 2:22:34yeah that's true they wouldn't have been
  3437. 2:22:36through Memorial true I didn't think
  3438. 2:22:38about that true well let's let's see
  3439. 2:22:40what Tom's response to that was
  3440. 2:22:44uh their season I hope you don't mind
  3441. 2:22:47but I think clearer when I'm typing so
3442. 2:22:49this letter is being written on my
3443. 2:22:51computer it is very this is a very
3444. 2:22:53difficult letter for me to write
3445. 2:22:55because I know how much you think of me
  3446. 2:22:57like I don't know that just just that
3447. 2:23:01first sentence is like uh how much you
  3448. 2:23:04think of me I don't know I don't know
3449. 2:23:07and I want you to know that I am
3450. 2:23:09flattered that you have such a high
  3451. 2:23:11opinion of me
3452. 2:23:14Susan our value our friendship very much
3453. 2:23:16you are one of the few people on this
  3454. 2:23:19Earth that I feel I can tell anything
  3455. 2:23:21your intelligent beautiful sensitive
3456. 2:23:23understanding and possess many other
  3457. 2:23:26wonderful qualities that I and many
3458. 2:23:29other men appreciate you will without a
3459. 2:23:32doubt make some lucky man a great wife
  3460. 2:23:34but unfortunately it won't be me
  3461. 2:23:39but unfortunately it won't be me
3462. 2:23:42even though you think we have much in
3463. 2:23:45common we are vastly different
3464. 2:23:48we have been raised in two totally
  3465. 2:23:51different environments and therefore
  3466. 2:23:52think totally different that's not to
3467. 2:23:55say that I was raised better than you or
  3468. 2:23:58vice versa
3469. 2:23:59it just means that we can come from two
  3470. 2:24:03different backgrounds when I started
3471. 2:24:05dating Laura our new our backgrounds
3472. 2:24:07were going to be a problem right before
3473. 2:24:09I graduated from Auburn University well
3474. 2:24:13why did he have to put that there why
3475. 2:24:14didn't you just say before I graduated
  3476. 2:24:16college but no
  3477. 2:24:18now he's going to show that he's more
3478. 2:24:20Superior he does he makes me sick to be
3479. 2:24:23quite honest and and I love Auburn but
  3480. 2:24:25ugh
  3481. 2:24:27in 1990
3482. 2:24:29I broke up with a girl Allison that I
3483. 2:24:32had been dating for over two years I
3484. 2:24:34loved Allison very much and we were very
  3485. 2:24:36compatible unfortunately we wanted
3486. 2:24:39different things out of life she wanted
3487. 2:24:41to get married and have children before
3488. 2:24:43the age of 28 and I did not so say he oh
3489. 2:24:46he pisses me off the conflicts burned
  3490. 2:24:49our breakup
3491. 2:24:51but we have remained friends through the
  3492. 2:24:53years after Allison I was very hurt I
3493. 2:24:55decided not to fall for anyone again
  3494. 2:24:58until I was ready to make a loan
  3495. 2:25:00commitment
3496. 2:25:02for my first two years in Union I dated
3497. 2:25:05very little in fact I can count the
3498. 2:25:07number of dates I had on one hand but
3499. 2:25:10then Laura came along we met at Kanto
3500. 2:25:12and I fell for her like a ton of bricks
3501. 2:25:15things were great at first and remained
3502. 2:25:17good for a long time but I knew deep in
3503. 2:25:20my heart that she was not the one for me
3504. 2:25:23so he was just playing her right yeah
3505. 2:25:26people tell me that when you fund a
3506. 2:25:29person that you will want to spend the
3507. 2:25:31rest of your life with you will know it
3508. 2:25:33well even though I fell in love with
3509. 2:25:36Laura I have my doubts about a Long and
  3510. 2:25:39Lasting commitment but I never said
3511. 2:25:41anything and I eventually hurt her very
  3512. 2:25:44very deeply and I won't do that again
3513. 2:25:46Susan I could really fall for you you
3514. 2:25:49have so many endearing qualities about
3515. 2:25:51you and I think that you are a terrific
3516. 2:25:53person but like I have told you before
3517. 2:25:55there are some things about you that
3518. 2:25:58aren't suited for me and yes I am
  3519. 2:26:01speaking about your children
3520. 2:26:04I'm sure that your kids are good kids
3521. 2:26:06but it really wouldn't matter how good
3522. 2:26:09they may be the fact is I just don't
3523. 2:26:12want children these feelings may change
  3524. 2:26:14one day but I doubt it
3525. 2:26:16with all of the crazy mixed up things
3526. 2:26:19that take place in this world today I
  3527. 2:26:21just don't
3528. 2:26:22have the desire to bring another life
  3529. 2:26:24into it and I don't want to be
  3530. 2:26:27responsible for anyone else's children
  3531. 2:26:29either
3532. 2:26:30but I'm very thankful that there are
3533. 2:26:33people like you who are not so selfish
  3534. 2:26:35as I am
  3535. 2:26:37and don't mind bearing the
3536. 2:26:38responsibility of children he is such an
  3537. 2:26:41ass
  3538. 2:26:42yep like I can't stand him like I I
  3539. 2:26:46don't know
3540. 2:26:47if anyone thought the way that I do our
3541. 2:26:51species would eventually become extinct
  3542. 2:26:54well maybe you shouldn't procreate you
  3543. 2:26:57shouldn't create that's it
3544. 2:27:00but our differences go far beyond the
3545. 2:27:03child issue okay then this is going to
3546. 2:27:05be the letter y'all that he wrote her
3547. 2:27:07and this is the letter supposedly of why
3548. 2:27:09she did these murders so these are vice
3549. 2:27:11versa I'm seeing this right now this is
3550. 2:27:14the original letter he wrote her that
3551. 2:27:16must have been her reply we read above
3552. 2:27:18on November the 1st so obviously he did
3553. 2:27:21not uh reply back to her again and since
  3554. 2:27:24he didn't I believe that's why she
3555. 2:27:27confessed so yeah this this is the
  3556. 2:27:30original their Jane letter
  3557. 2:27:33um and it's it's awful
  3558. 2:27:36um it just is
3559. 2:27:39okay where was we at but our differences
3560. 2:27:41go far beyond the children issue we are
3561. 2:27:45just two totally different people and
3562. 2:27:47eventually those differences would cause
3563. 2:27:49us to break up because I know myself so
  3564. 2:27:52well I'm sure of this don't be
3565. 2:27:55discouraged there is someone out there
3566. 2:27:57for you in fact it's probably someone
3567. 2:28:00that you may not know at this time or
3568. 2:28:03that you may know but would never expect
3569. 2:28:06either way before you settle down with
3570. 2:28:08anyone again there is something that you
3571. 2:28:10need to know Susan because you got
3572. 2:28:13pregnant and married at such an early
3573. 2:28:15age you missed out on much of your youth
3574. 2:28:18I mean one minute you were a kid and the
3575. 2:28:22next minute you were having kids
  3576. 2:28:24because I come from a place where
3577. 2:28:26everyone had the desire and the money to
  3578. 2:28:29go to college God I can't stand him
  3579. 2:28:31y'all
3580. 2:28:33I just cannot stand him no you don't
3581. 2:28:36brag about it Mount Brook Alabama Bud on
3582. 2:28:40that 20 minutes from me so let me tell
3583. 2:28:43you this where you come from ain't what
3584. 2:28:45you putting it out to be
  3585. 2:28:48ah
3586. 2:28:50and now everyone didn't have the money
3587. 2:28:52to go to Auburn University you freak
3588. 2:28:55having the responsibility of children at
3589. 2:28:58such a young age is beyond my
3590. 2:29:00comprehension at such a young age what
  3591. 2:29:02was she like 20 22
  3592. 2:29:05um
  3593. 2:29:05that's
3594. 2:29:07that's not such a young age I mean you
  3595. 2:29:10know
  3596. 2:29:11to have children
3597. 2:29:13or maybe some people think it is I I
  3598. 2:29:15don't
  3599. 2:29:17um
3600. 2:29:18anyhow my advice to you is to wait and
3601. 2:29:21be very choosy about your next
3602. 2:29:22relationship I can see this may be a bit
3603. 2:29:25difficult for you because you are a bit
3604. 2:29:28boy crazy but as the proverb States good
3605. 2:29:32things come to those who wait
3606. 2:29:35I'm not saying you shouldn't go out and
3607. 2:29:37have a good time in fact I think you
3608. 2:29:39should do just that have a good time and
3609. 2:29:42capture some of that youth that you
3610. 2:29:43missed out on it's like he is
  3611. 2:29:45continuously
3612. 2:29:47reminding her what a nuisance her kids
3613. 2:29:51are are y'all picking that up here yes
  3614. 2:29:53oh yeah I mean it's like that's
  3615. 2:29:56basically all he's talking about your
  3616. 2:29:58kids are a nuisance
  3617. 2:30:00like they're just in the way that's
3618. 2:30:03that's what I'm aware they took away
  3619. 2:30:05your childhood
3620. 2:30:07oh my God what are you saying
  3621. 2:30:11but just don't get seriously involved
3622. 2:30:14with anyone until you have done the
3623. 2:30:16things in life that you want to do first
3624. 2:30:19then the rest will fall into place okay
3625. 2:30:21you idiot telling her she needs to go
3626. 2:30:23out and have fun and catch that youth
  3627. 2:30:25dude she's got kids she's got
3628. 2:30:27responsibility now too late for that
  3629. 2:30:29[ __ ]
  3630. 2:30:30sorry
  3631. 2:30:34yep
3632. 2:30:36Susan I'm not mad at you about what
  3633. 2:30:38happened this weekend actually I'm very
3634. 2:30:41thankful as I told you I was starting to
3635. 2:30:43let my heart warm up to the idea of us
3636. 2:30:46going out as more than just friends but
3637. 2:30:48seeing you kiss another guy put things
3638. 2:30:51back into perspective okay he was making
3639. 2:30:53out with a married woman in the hot tub
3640. 2:30:55that's why she did that which that's
3641. 2:30:57true that was kind of ridiculous for her
3642. 2:30:59to just do a little Revenge how do you
3643. 2:31:01like this let me see if you're jealous
3644. 2:31:03but I mean come on dude you was doing
  3645. 2:31:05the same thing
  3646. 2:31:06um
3647. 2:31:10a permanent relationship with her while
3648. 2:31:12he's making out with the married woman
3649. 2:31:14exactly and he had been dating
3650. 2:31:17um Susan for a damn year when this hot
  3651. 2:31:21tub party happened
  3652. 2:31:23oh he's so full of crap he's like a
3653. 2:31:27player that's all he is and and look at
3654. 2:31:30him he better be glad he's got some
3655. 2:31:32money because honey if he didn't have no
3656. 2:31:33money yeah that's the only damn reason
3657. 2:31:35anybody ever looked at him my opinion
  3658. 2:31:37sorry
  3659. 2:31:39um
3660. 2:31:41and he's probably living back up here in
  3661. 2:31:43Mountain Brook I might just I just love
3662. 2:31:44to run run into him up there at the
  3663. 2:31:46Galleria Mall
  3664. 2:31:49um anyway I remember how I hurt Laura
  3665. 2:31:53and I won't let that happen again and
  3666. 2:31:55therefore I can't let myself get close
3667. 2:31:58to you we will always be friends but our
3668. 2:32:00relationship will never go beyond that
  3669. 2:32:02of a friendship
3670. 2:32:04and as for your relationship with B
  3671. 2:32:07Brown
3672. 2:32:09of course you have to make your own
3673. 2:32:11decisions in life but remember you have
3674. 2:32:14to live what the consequences also
3675. 2:32:16everyone is held accountable for their
3676. 2:32:18actions and I would hate for people to
3677. 2:32:20perceive you as an unreputable person
  3678. 2:32:24if you watch
3679. 2:32:26if you want to catch a nice guy like me
3680. 2:32:29someday then you have to act like a nice
  3681. 2:32:32girl dude you're not a nice guy
3682. 2:32:34not by any means I wish she had to never
  3683. 2:32:38met you
3684. 2:32:41he gets what he wants from the woman and
3685. 2:32:44he takes off maybe we need to Deep dive
  3686. 2:32:48this freak
3687. 2:32:49anyway pretty sure he's got you know
3688. 2:32:53yeah stuff that yeah maybe we need to do
  3689. 2:32:57to have his ass
  3690. 2:32:59no woman
3691. 2:33:00yeah what's he did in the last 30 years
3692. 2:33:03I know they sold out that business so
3693. 2:33:05they're probably back up here in
  3694. 2:33:06Birmingham
  3695. 2:33:07anyway
3696. 2:33:09as you know nice girls don't sleep with
  3697. 2:33:12married men
  3698. 2:33:14well
3699. 2:33:15vice versa the nice men don't sleep with
  3700. 2:33:18married women so I appreciate
3701. 2:33:22besides I want you to feel good about
  3702. 2:33:24yourself
3703. 2:33:25and I'm afraid that if you sleep with
3704. 2:33:28Bay brown or any other married man for
3705. 2:33:30that matter you will lose your
  3706. 2:33:32self-respect
3707. 2:33:33how in the hell she got any self-respect
3708. 2:33:35after reading what he just wrote her
  3709. 2:33:38oh man
3710. 2:33:40I know I did well we were messing around
  3711. 2:33:42earlier this year
3712. 2:33:45and and remember this is October so
3713. 2:33:47they've been dating each other all year
3714. 2:33:48for him to be such an ass here at the

3717. 2:33:54before you do anything you will regret I
3718. 2:33:56care about you but also care for Susan
3719. 2:33:59Brown and I would hate to see anyone get
  3720. 2:34:02hurt
  3721. 2:34:03Susan may say
  3722. 2:34:06that she wouldn't care
3723. 2:34:09if her husband had an affair but you but
3724. 2:34:12you and I know that is not true
3725. 2:34:15anyhow as I've already told you you are

3793. 2:37:03here and there but I had no clue it was
3794. 2:37:06that deep and I wish that I had could go

3796. 2:37:13letter and uh you know and maybe me and

3824. 2:38:28the way that her kids are the problem
  3825. 2:38:31continuously like that's like he just
  3826. 2:38:33continues
3827. 2:38:35even using this little story about this

  3857. 2:39:52I can't stand him
3858. 2:39:54um I wish that well you know what y'all

3863. 2:40:07were separated not living together or
  3864. 2:40:09nothing else but David
  3865. 2:40:11I don't know and jealous I guess I don't
3866. 2:40:14know uh he had went in somewhere or went
3867. 2:40:16to a restaurant or whatever and saw them
3868. 2:40:20two there and yeah uh cornered them
3869. 2:40:23outside and kicked his ass yeah I
  3870. 2:40:24remember that now it's in
  3871. 2:40:26um that book
  3872. 2:40:28um yes yes
  3873. 2:40:30sorry Fred's so many I get confused yeah
3874. 2:40:34it's also in the closing arguments
3875. 2:40:36yeah so it's uh yeah David kick his ass
  3876. 2:40:39go David you know oh [ __ ] I needed that
3877. 2:40:44ass kid kicked several times he asked me
3878. 2:40:47what a Mr tough guy run to his daddy for
3879. 2:40:51help no kidding no you know what he did
3880. 2:40:54he's like oh well you know uh that kind
3881. 2:40:57of spooked me up a little bit Susan I
3882. 2:40:58can't be sleeping with you no more
  3883. 2:41:00because you know I don't like getting my
3884. 2:41:01ass kicked because you know I got no
  3885. 2:41:03hair
3886. 2:41:04bruises show oh man don't even get me
  3887. 2:41:07star I can't stand that dude
  3888. 2:41:10seeing him I don't I don't know David
  3889. 2:41:14looked a hell of a lot better I mean if
3890. 2:41:17you want to go for that but think about
3891. 2:41:18the people she is attracted to look at
3892. 2:41:21the prison guard not being ugly but come
  3893. 2:41:23on
3894. 2:41:34it really did I mean even though this
3895. 2:41:36dude was only 27 Mr Tom fanlay
3896. 2:41:39um even though he was 27 he looked 57.
  3897. 2:41:42mm-hmm
3898. 2:41:44you know which is a very cool receding
3899. 2:41:46hairline what did he do like the
3900. 2:41:48Menendez and go get him a fake hair
  3901. 2:41:49thing made
  3902. 2:41:52guys I'm not a vain person and I don't
3903. 2:41:56look at somebody and be like oh that's I
3904. 2:41:59wouldn't talk to him or date him but
3905. 2:42:03the first time she spoke to him he had
3906. 2:42:06that arrogant attitude he did not hide
3907. 2:42:10it so what the hell is not that not a
3908. 2:42:12turn off immediately exactly that makes
  3909. 2:42:15wow I'm super ugly to me
3910. 2:42:18no kidding yes somebody in my everyday
3911. 2:42:22life that unfortunately I am stuck with
3912. 2:42:26them in my life I'm not gonna say who in
  3913. 2:42:28case they
3914. 2:42:29are out here listening but you know who
  3915. 2:42:31you are
3916. 2:42:33um I'm stuck with having them in my life
  3917. 2:42:35I have to but they're they're beautiful
3918. 2:42:40on the outside so beautiful
  3919. 2:42:43but on the inside
  3920. 2:42:45terrible person terrible mean
3921. 2:42:50a drunk and doesn't care about anybody
3922. 2:42:54else but what they want treats their
  3923. 2:42:57children like [ __ ] treats family like
  3924. 2:43:00[ __ ]
3925. 2:43:01and it just makes that beauty she has on
  3926. 2:43:04the outside
3927. 2:43:06it just makes it all go away for me once
3928. 2:43:11you show your tree side yeah you're your
3929. 2:43:15your ugliness is shown there can be
3930. 2:43:18people that you don't find attractive on
3931. 2:43:21the outside but can fall in love with
3932. 2:43:24who they are on the inside and it
3933. 2:43:26changes what you see on the outside you
3934. 2:43:29know exactly so never ever judge a book
3935. 2:43:33by its cover just because they don't
3936. 2:43:36look up to part of what your friends are
3937. 2:43:39what your family think you should do
3938. 2:43:42it's what's on the inside that matters
3939. 2:43:45absolutely you know my husband yes I do
  3940. 2:43:48think he said a handsome man
3941. 2:43:51but that's not what made me fall in love
3942. 2:43:54with them I fell in love with what he
  3943. 2:43:57has on the inside he's a wonderful man
3944. 2:44:00bend over backwards for me he's been
3945. 2:44:03here for me through thickness and thin
3946. 2:44:06and helped me through Health scares then
3947. 2:44:11I mean don't get me wrong he got scared
3948. 2:44:13himself at one point and kind of acted
3949. 2:44:15stupid but he fixed it but he was scared
3950. 2:44:20you know he didn't know what to do with
3951. 2:44:22the breast cancer thing because we just
3952. 2:44:25went through it with my mom we just got
3953. 2:44:27the diagnosed gnosis that my sister was
3954. 2:44:30given five years so he panicked you know
3955. 2:44:34he didn't know what to do so he started
  3956. 2:44:36acting stupid
  3957. 2:44:38right
  3958. 2:44:40um
  3959. 2:44:42yeah he's got what
  3960. 2:44:46he has a shiny belly
  3961. 2:44:49a shiny belly
  3962. 2:44:52says it says I'm being a person with
  3963. 2:44:54mental illness it wouldn't have took
3964. 2:44:56much to send her off the deep end it's
3965. 2:44:59like they blow things out of proportion
  3966. 2:45:00100 fold I agree
3967. 2:45:02I agree uh yeah that that letter
3968. 2:45:05definitely really set her there
3969. 2:45:07um can we keep it personality absolutely
  3970. 2:45:09we usually do
3971. 2:45:11um the reason that I had to Just Bounce
3972. 2:45:13this guy I can't help it he was just
3973. 2:45:16acting like he was so much better than
3974. 2:45:19better than I'm just so much better than
3975. 2:45:21you and your kids are just a nuisance
3976. 2:45:23and if you read between the lines of his
3977. 2:45:25letter literally the only thing he can
3978. 2:45:28do is sit here and degrade every other
3979. 2:45:31female he's ever been with so sometimes
3980. 2:45:34you know if People's gonna kick those
3981. 2:45:37shots out there they need to get them
  3982. 2:45:39back
3983. 2:45:44yeah I mean this dude just done nothing
3984. 2:45:48but degrade everyone except him and his
3985. 2:45:50dad every female everyone dude in my
  3986. 2:45:54opinion deserves whatever the hell's
  3987. 2:45:55threw at him
3988. 2:45:57he thinks females are just there for one
3989. 2:46:00thing and one thing only
  3990. 2:46:04um yeah
3991. 2:46:07yeah right for whatever reason she seems
3992. 2:46:09to have developed her sense of self-work
3993. 2:46:11yeah obviously she had some serious
  3994. 2:46:15um self-esteem problems that's pretty
3995. 2:46:17obvious and thinking that sex was the
  3996. 2:46:20way she could literally
  3997. 2:46:23um
  3998. 2:46:23get anyone's attention someone asked
3999. 2:46:26earlier what did her stepdad look like
4000. 2:46:28there is a photo of him in the premiere
4001. 2:46:30we just did he's to me just looks like
  4002. 2:46:34an old man I mean I don't know how else
4003. 2:46:35to put it uh just
  4004. 2:46:39I don't know just
  4005. 2:46:41but there is a good groomer
  4006. 2:46:43absolutely without a doubt without a
4007. 2:46:47doubt and if that's the way she was
  4008. 2:46:49brought up that's
4009. 2:46:50probably the reason why she went from go
4010. 2:46:52to go to go because that's all too new
4011. 2:46:56yeah Wednesday uh go back honey and
4012. 2:46:58listen to that later or I will link it
4013. 2:47:00below if you'd rather read it yourself
4014. 2:47:01and not my crazy reading uh you'll see
4015. 2:47:04what I mean I guarantee you by the time
4016. 2:47:06you get finished reading his letter to
  4017. 2:47:08her
  4018. 2:47:09um you're gonna be just as
4019. 2:47:11just you you're going to want to go slap
  4020. 2:47:14him
  4021. 2:47:15I guarantee yeah
4022. 2:47:19yeah it's definitely not something we do
4023. 2:47:21here but my Jesus this man done nothing
4024. 2:47:24but degrade every female and everybody
4025. 2:47:27in his life and he continued to just
4026. 2:47:29continuously throw down on the kids in
4027. 2:47:33his own way it he made me sick
  4028. 2:47:37um okay y'all well we're gonna call it a
4029. 2:47:39night we've been here damn near three
  4030. 2:47:41hours three hours yeah we're gonna we're
4031. 2:47:44gonna call it a night here and uh Dave's
4032. 2:47:48got some good stuff planned for what's
4033. 2:47:50Wednesday hell of a show on that
4034. 2:47:53um it's not gonna be a popular one but
  4035. 2:47:55you know that's what we do
  4036. 2:47:57uh aren't they yeah they're popular I
4037. 2:48:00think they have a lot of haters but
4038. 2:48:03they're popular with the minions that
  4039. 2:48:05like to strike us
4040. 2:48:08they're not going to be popular but you
4041. 2:48:10know hey I mean it's all facts it is
4042. 2:48:12what it is you know
4043. 2:48:15um anyway we should come up with a new
4044. 2:48:17name for their last name so that way it
  4045. 2:48:19doesn't like them
4046. 2:48:21oh no they'll be here anyways just oh
4047. 2:48:23yeah it's it does yeah actually when
4048. 2:48:27YouTube comes back and looks at it they
4049. 2:48:29okay it so yeah there's no nudity going
4050. 2:48:32on here right they should be actually
  4051. 2:48:35going after the people that's reporting
4052. 2:48:37it and they can tell they know exactly
4053. 2:48:40who reports they can follow the IP
4054. 2:48:42addresses they have that capability and
4055. 2:48:46why they don't do something to the ones
4056. 2:48:48that give false strikes is beyond me
  4057. 2:48:52yeah I don't get it I don't get it
  4058. 2:48:55either
  4059. 2:48:57I mean there's channels I don't like and
  4060. 2:49:00there's one
4061. 2:49:01that I'm not gonna say that it has been
4062. 2:49:04taken down and keeps coming back and for
  4063. 2:49:07the love of God I don't know how
4064. 2:49:09but I would never go on there and put a
  4065. 2:49:13false strike
  4066. 2:49:15you know yeah I've never I've never even
4067. 2:49:18reported except one time and that's been
  4068. 2:49:22oh hell I don't know three four years
4069. 2:49:25ago maybe when I was being docks to hell
  4070. 2:49:28and back you know
  4071. 2:49:30bad and that's the only thing I reported
4072. 2:49:33on is like hey you know tell them
4073. 2:49:36because not to be mentioned in
  4074. 2:49:38everything about
  4075. 2:49:39who I am where I live all this that's
4076. 2:49:41not cool you know so I don't know one
4077. 2:49:45channel nothing like that but come on
4078. 2:49:48and that was whenever I was friends with
  4079. 2:49:51another YouTuber and
  4080. 2:49:55was doing what I thought like I was
4081. 2:49:57doing here but turned out to be
4082. 2:49:59something else then they started
4083. 2:50:02this other YouTuber started saying
4084. 2:50:05derogatory comments about me so of
4085. 2:50:07course I reported it oh yeah because it
4086. 2:50:12wasn't true and that YouTuber later
4087. 2:50:16emailed me and apologized but well
  4088. 2:50:20that's good
  4089. 2:50:22I didn't get that
  4090. 2:50:24I didn't get that but
4091. 2:50:26it's okay well he had an email so I
4092. 2:50:29emailed him I was like you had no right
4093. 2:50:31to say that you don't even know me
4094. 2:50:33you know I am not a shared sister wife
  4095. 2:50:37[ __ ] that's not my cup of tea weirdo
4096. 2:50:41I don't even live in the same place
  4097. 2:50:44these people do
4098. 2:50:46I remember that oh my goodness yeah
4099. 2:50:49that's that was during a bad time oh
  4100. 2:50:52yeah
4101. 2:50:53that was when I first found out that I
4102. 2:50:56had breast cancer so I was pets you know
4103. 2:50:59wasn't a lot going on it was a lot going
  4104. 2:51:02on
4105. 2:51:03so but you know well that's neither here
4106. 2:51:05nor there but thanks everybody for
4107. 2:51:08spending your evening or your day or
  4108. 2:51:10your
  4109. 2:51:14we do and
4110. 2:51:18um the moderators of everyone that sit
4111. 2:51:20here with us we do appreciate you very
4112. 2:51:22much thank you so much for watching the
4113. 2:51:25chat and guys thank you for being here
4114. 2:51:28with us we wouldn't be who we are
4115. 2:51:30without you guys like I said before we
4116. 2:51:34love you guys very much
  4117. 2:51:36that's right team unjustified
4118. 2:51:39and the next skinkers ball like Dave
  4119. 2:51:44hinted it will be a surprise we're going
  4120. 2:51:48to start
  4121. 2:51:50you know we'll
4122. 2:51:51do our little Premiere right before we
  4123. 2:51:54start so that way you'll know who we're
4124. 2:51:56talking about but for now we're just
4125. 2:51:59gonna keep it keep you guys guessing
4126. 2:52:03but please for real send me suggestions
4127. 2:52:06because I will add them to the list and
  4128. 2:52:10research them but
4129. 2:52:13um can you pop my email up there real
4130. 2:52:15quick yeah there you go
4131. 2:52:18send it to me there and I will add it to
  4132. 2:52:22the list and gladly
4133. 2:52:24cover what you want to know and if you
4134. 2:52:26know something like was it Mac J that
  4135. 2:52:29said she knew someone
4136. 2:52:32or that they knew someone uh yeah yeah I
4137. 2:52:35got it wrote down yeah Mac Jason is a
  4138. 2:52:37pretty good list
4139. 2:52:39um yeah she had collected some people in
4140. 2:52:41the skykers fall chat so I I mean if
4141. 2:52:45there's somebody that you know
4142. 2:52:48personally in the case and stuff and
4143. 2:52:50wouldn't mind me interviewing and Kim
  4144. 2:52:53interviewing you
4145. 2:52:55um we covered that those kind of cases
4146. 2:52:57as well we want to get these cases out
4147. 2:53:00there just so people know what's going
4148. 2:53:03on and so these victims aren't forgotten
  4149. 2:53:06that's right that's right it's for them
  4150. 2:53:09you know it's for them
4151. 2:53:11they're uh perpetrators uh they need to
4152. 2:53:15be known for what they did and the
4153. 2:53:17victim stories needs to be heard even
4154. 2:53:19though they don't have a voice we can be
4155. 2:53:20their voice exactly like Dave said we
4156. 2:53:23don't want you guys to forget these
4157. 2:53:25children and the other victims that are
  4158. 2:53:29out there I mean
  4159. 2:53:31like Kim said they don't have a voice
4160. 2:53:33anymore and we can be that be that voice
  4161. 2:53:37that's right
4162. 2:53:39and the next one might be skanker of the
  4163. 2:53:41year
4164. 2:53:42yeah we're getting close to this anchor
4165. 2:53:45it's going to be hard as hell to beat
4166. 2:53:46Carla but you never know right yeah it
  4167. 2:53:50can happen it could happen I don't know
  4168. 2:53:53I don't know I don't think Susan beats
