2. 0:01whether you're reading Romans or
3. 0:04Ephesians or Colossians or John or James
4. 0:07or any other book in the New Testament,
5. 0:09guess what? There's no new sacrifices
6. 0:11happening. Christians are not killing
7. 0:13animals in their backyards.
8. 0:16And so, what are we doing today with our
9. 0:19cute little apology system?
10. 0:24No blood, just some weak apology. Please
11. 0:27forgive me. Would you forgive me? I hope
12. 0:29you'll forgive me.
13. 0:30Uh-uh, something's got to die if you're
14. 0:33going to be forgiven again.
15. 0:34Somebody's got to die. You're asking
16. 0:36Jesus to hang on a cross again. You
17. 0:38don't realize you are, but that weak
18. 0:41little apology system that supposedly
19. 0:44brings you more forgiveness on a
20. 0:46Thursday is a deception. It is a lie.
21. 0:50You are forgiven once for all or not at
22. 0:53all.
23. 0:54You are forgiven once for all in Christ
24. 0:57or not at all in Adam, and there is no
25. 1:00middle ground. Nobody watching, nobody
26. 1:03listening, nobody here is 82% forgiven.
27. 1:07It's 100 or zero. So, how about we
28. 1:11celebrate the 100 cuz that is the truth
29. 1:14about you and me.
30. 1:17Nor was it that Jesus would go up there
31. 1:19and die over and over being tortured in
32. 1:22heaven as the Father says, "When's it
33. 1:24going to stop? Oh my goodness, again and
34. 1:27again, somebody stole some hubcaps. Can
35. 1:29you hang back on the cross again?"
36. 1:32Do you see how ridiculous that is?
37. 1:36He's not up in heaven dying. We're not
38. 1:39down here on Earth being forgiven year
39. 1:41by year, and I'm going to tell you,
40. 1:44I'm a little bit upset
41. 1:46at the religious world here on this one.
42. 1:49Because we done worse
43. 1:52than year after year. There's not a soul
44. 1:55teaching year after year right now.
45. 1:58They're teaching something worse.
46. 2:00They're teaching that the blood of Jesus
47. 2:02doesn't even get you a year's worth.
48. 2:05It gets you if you're lucky about 6
49. 2:07hours worth
50. 2:09till you confess again. And then God
51. 2:11swoops down with his spiritual squeegee
52. 2:14and he he kind of mops you off again for
53. 2:17another 6 hours till you do something
54. 2:19big again. And every 6 hours it's not
55. 2:23year by year, it's worse than that.
56. 2:25It's not again and again annually, no.
57. 2:28It's every 6 hours or even every hour if
58. 2:31they talk you into that kind of guilt.
59. 2:33Every hour you're offering a confession
60. 2:35and an apology and spiritual breathing
61. 2:38one group calls it.
62. 2:40Yeah, exhale your confession, then you
63. 2:42[snorts] inhale the Holy Spirit again.
64. 2:44Doesn't that sound cool? Man, that'll
65. 2:46preach.
66. 2:47There's a problem with it. It's a lie.
67. 2:51You don't get him hour by hour or day by
68. 2:55day and certainly not sin by sin and you
69. 2:57don't get forgiven and you don't get
70. 2:59cleansed one by one by one. That is
71. 3:02weaker than animal blood.
72. 3:05They got a year's worth from the blood
73. 3:08of bulls and goats. How much more does
74. 3:11the blood of Christ cleanse us, wait for
75. 3:14it, how much more does the blood of
76. 3:16Christ cleanse us once for all?
77. 3:21That kind of forgiveness is the only
78. 3:23kind available in Jesus.
79. 3:27Religion hates this
80. 3:29because the control mechanism is gone.
81. 3:32The tabernacle is folded up. The temple
82. 3:35is torn down.
83. 3:37And your confession booth is in rubble.
84. 3:41Cuz suddenly Jesus actually did
85. 3:44something.
86. 3:45And the gospel actually means something.
87. 3:48And now people are mad, which is good.
88. 3:51That's a sign you're on the right road.
89. 3:53Jesus made people mad. Who did Who got
90. 3:56the maddest, the angriest at Jesus?
91. 4:00The religious people, the ones who were
92. 4:02running the temple.
93. 4:05See, it was about job security
94. 4:07and control. At one point they say, and
95. 4:10I quote, something like, "If we keep
96. 4:12letting him go on and on like this, we
97. 4:15will lose
98. 4:17our jobs, our place, our role."
99. 4:21"If we keep letting him go on and on
100. 4:23like this." Saying that to Jesus.
101. 4:27So,
102. 4:28what do you have then, the big takeaway?
103. 4:30There's no layaway plan, there's no
104. 4:33progressive forgiveness, there's no
105. 4:36subscriptions.
106. 4:38It's a one-time, paid it all, it is
107. 4:41finished, over.
108. 4:43The bill is paid,
109. 4:45get up, walk out, do life, thank God,
110. 4:49and live.
