- 0:06When you wake up in the morning,
- 0:10give yourself 5 minutes of
- 0:15pure presence. Be present in your entire
- 0:18energy field, every cell of the body.
- 0:21and you lie on your back
- 0:23and you sense just not
- 0:28you can be a person once you get up out
- 0:30of bed you start becoming a person but
- 0:33while you're still there be the presence
- 0:37so there's nothing to think about
- 0:38there's only sensing
- 0:41presence pervading your entire energy
- 0:44field being it
- 0:47beautiful day way to start the Hey,
- 0:51Resist the temptation of
- 0:55reaching for your phone.
- 1:01[Music]
- 1:17I just want to know what the weather is
- 1:19like.
- 1:20Well, I mean, look out of the window.
- 1:32I need to know what he tweeted today.
- 1:36Who is he?
- 1:40[Music]
- 1:46And when you go to bed also important
- 1:48the last 5 10 minutes whatever before go
- 1:51to sleep from presence rather than from
- 1:54thought.
- 1:56Avoid
- 1:58uh digital devices
- 2:01in bed
- 2:03and be present.
- 2:07That changes
- 2:08the nature of your sleep too.
- 2:16I often say if you drive to work,
- 2:22it's important to
- 2:25interrupt
- 2:27the doing with occasional realizations
- 2:30of being. So you get into your car, you
- 2:33close the door and you sit there for
- 2:3730 to 60 seconds
- 2:40just being
- 2:42but not internally waiting for 30 or 60
- 2:45seconds to be over already but to really
- 2:48just be there. So you you bring you
- 2:51interrupt this flow that drags you along
- 2:54in the doing dimension and bring in
- 2:57being.
- 2:59So and then during the day many times
- 3:01you bring in moments of beingness when
- 3:04you connect with the deeper eye and you
- 3:08can use external things to help you.
- 3:11Looking at a potted plant in your office
- 3:14or wherever you are or looking at a tree
- 3:17outside the window or looking at the sky
- 3:20looking through the window.
- 3:22You can use any window as a meditation.
- 3:26Whatever window it may be and whatever
- 3:27may be on the other side of the window.
- 3:30I call it the window meditation.
- 3:33Look at the window and and and give
- 3:36attention to what's outside the window.
- 3:39Whatever it is that you can see, but
- 3:40while you see it, feel yourself the
- 3:44being of you. And then there's not a
- 3:47person perceiving it. There is a
- 3:51presence you have become. You have
- 3:53transitioned from being a person to
- 3:56being the presence.
- 4:00There was there's a little episode that
- 4:02Oprah did uh some years ago where they
- 4:07gave people an empty frame in people
- 4:10they stopped people in the street and
- 4:12they gave them an empty picture frame.
- 4:16It was and they
- 4:19take this picture and direct it anywhere
- 4:22and whatever wherever you direct it to
- 4:24just give attention to what it is that
- 4:26you're looking at in this frame. So you
- 4:29go around with the picture and you stop
- 4:31somewhere and there's the floor and you
- 4:33hold it for a few seconds and you give
- 4:35it it becomes a painting. So wherever
- 4:38you're directed it becomes a painting
- 4:40which means you give your fullest
- 4:41attention and you discover beauty
- 4:44everywhere.
- 4:46and an amazing thing. And so that gave
- 4:49me the idea of the the window meditation
- 4:52when you can you look wherever the
- 4:54window may be. You give it attention. I
- 4:58even have a succession of photos that I
- 4:59took on my iPhone
- 5:02uh on of different windows in different
- 5:06places in the world, hotel windows
- 5:08mostly. And so looking different just
- 5:12maybe one day I'll
- 5:15uh um
- 5:17projected on a screen somewhere that the
- 5:19window the window views the window
- 5:22meditation.
- 5:24So
- 5:26being and of course you can also if you
- 5:29get a chance completely do away with
- 5:33sensory perception
- 5:35and close your eyes and that's
- 5:38meditation as such. Close your eyes
- 5:42and sense the beingness of you. Sense
- 5:46the presence. Be that.
- 5:49And that's the you're not doing a
- 5:52meditation.
- 5:54You're not doing anything.
- 5:57You are realizing
- 6:00being.
- 6:02You're realizing
- 6:05I am
- 6:07the I am. And that is when you access it
- 6:11directly.
- 6:12So no more sense perceptions. So except
- 6:16what happens accidentally, but you don't
- 6:19for necessarily focus on anything.
- 6:22You just focus on the the power of
- 6:25presence.
- 6:27The power of presence in you which is
- 6:31essentially you
- 6:36and it usually
- 6:41incorporates your entire your entire
- 6:43body. is not really the physical bodies
- 6:46but something deeper that underlies the
- 6:48physical body.
- 6:50And that which underlies the physical
- 6:52body, you may want to close your eyes
- 6:54for a moment.
- 6:56But that which underlies the physical
- 6:58body
- 7:00actually
- 7:03doesn't have any shape or form anymore.
- 7:05It it does not had doesn't really have
- 7:07any extension in space anymore.
- 7:12there's just
- 7:14presence
- 7:16and that's an incredible realization.
- 7:19And then you go deep enough into the
- 7:21body, it it ceases to be the body
- 7:27and you you you may lose
- 7:31a visual image of yourself as body
- 7:36and all that's left of you
- 7:41is an extensionless
- 7:44point of presence.
- 7:47It's wonderful.
- 7:49and extensionless.
- 7:52There's no space or time in it anymore.
- 7:56It's the transcendent
- 7:58you, transcendent eye. There's only one
- 8:01eye.
- 8:05So, you have no shape anymore. No shape
- 8:08or form.
- 8:12And you're not subject to time.
- 8:23And that's the the power of presence
- 8:26that is you the power of the one power
- 8:29the one that underlies
- 8:32the cosmos.
- 8:58It's if thoughts come in don't give them
- 9:01any attention then they drift away
- 9:04again. It's fine.
- 9:23If you drift out of it, taking a deep
- 9:27breath, a kind of belly breath two or
- 9:29three times your belly, your abdomen
- 9:33well expands as you breathe in,
- 9:39contracts as you breathe out and then
- 9:42puts you back in touch with the inner
- 9:44body.
- 9:46And then again the image of body may if
- 9:51you go deep enough may disappear
- 9:56and all that's left is that awareness
- 9:58that point of awareness
- 10:01extensionless awareness
- 10:19[Music]
- 10:25[Music]
- 10:32That is so wonderful.
