Star Citizen Alpha 4.10.1 IMMINENT! Small Patch, Big Changes - What's New?! — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00Hello and welcome to some more Star
- 0:02Citizen. It is Tuesday the 15th of
- 0:04September 2026. In today's news, alpha
- 0:084.10.1 is coming to live later this
- 0:10week. We've got a host of updates with
- 0:12that patch and lots and lots of fixes,
- 0:14optimizations, and stuff like that,
- 0:15which we will talk about. We've also got
- 0:17the latest this week in Star Citizen.
- 0:19So, I will start with that and then sort
- 0:21of fold the out for 4.10.1 10.1 updates
- 0:24into that like I'm trying to make a
- 0:25delicious cake or a meringue or
- 0:26something but with tasty tasty Star
- 0:29Citizen news from but this week in Star
- 0:31Citizen Post. Last week saw the return
- 0:33of Pirate Week putting the lawless side
- 0:35of the verse back in the spotlight
- 0:37alongside this year's festivities. A
- 0:39golden pirate week 2026 to bloom is
- 0:42waiting to be claimed by those clever
- 0:43enough to crack the code. Keep a sharp
- 0:45eye on Spectrum, our newsletters and
- 0:47social channels, while the Pirate Week
- 0:49flag flies, as you'll need to piece
- 0:52together clues to uncover the hidden
- 0:54treasure. I believe Pirate Week is
- 0:56ending on the 28th of September or
- 0:59around then. More clues are coming
- 1:01across a variety of media from CI. Back
- 1:04to the post, though, and if you're
- 1:06looking to make a name for yourself, our
- 1:08ongoing Most Wanted contest is still
- 1:10open. Snap an in-game screenshot of your
- 1:12character, then fill in the poster with
- 1:14a bounty worthy of your reputation. Cig
- 1:16then include a treasure hunt clue in
- 1:18this post. A vast set course for Pyro
- 1:21amidst the roughest rigs in dust choked
- 1:24orbit. There be one that offers no rest
- 1:26from the edge. I cold and unforgiving it
- 1:29be. Hunt it down and when you find it,
- 1:32count every piece within the hologram.
- 1:34Not the shell, but what lies inside. We
- 1:38also published a new road map update
- 1:40adding the new event Orison relief
- 1:42support to alpha 4.10.1.
- 1:45Looking further ahead to alpha 4.11, we
- 1:48shared a fresh glimpse of Nyx 3's
- 1:50atmosphere alongside a first look at
- 1:51lightning bolt company's DMR, the
- 1:54Scarov. Alpha 4.11 has been delayed till
- 1:58sometime in Q4 2026, but it's been a
- 2:03little vague at the moment exactly when
- 2:04that will be. It will contain the
- 2:06planets of Nyx one, two, and three, the
- 2:07new Planet Tech V5, Genesis, and
- 2:11Staritect. A load of stuff for
- 2:13generating planets and lots of content
- 2:14on them with Nyx one being the poster
- 2:16boy for that. We've got videos covering
- 2:18that if you are interested. So, what's
- 2:20actually going on this week in Star
- 2:22Citizen? Cig are targeting the release
- 2:24of alpha 4.10.1 10.1 later this week,
- 2:26bringing another round of technical and
- 2:29bug fixes, including fixes to ASOP
- 2:31terminals and ship statuses, a fix for
- 2:34Mendo Ren's HMG spawn issues, and more.
- 2:38In the latest 4.10.1 build, it was
- 2:42actually a release candidate build. They
- 2:44are very close to releasing it. CI said
- 2:46this build has further work to get
- 2:484.10.1 10.1 ready for live later this
- 2:50week, including further stability
- 2:51updates and changes, as well as removing
- 2:54the extra PTU logging and debugging.
- 2:56People on the PTU may have noticed quite
- 2:58a significant frame rate improvement and
- 3:01much more stable frame rates. CIG say
- 3:04they are still going through bug reports
- 3:06and issue council reports trying to get
- 3:08as many fixes as they can in this patch.
- 3:10The update will also introduce the
- 3:13Orison relief support event. I believe
- 3:15this is a limited time event, but you'll
- 3:18be lending a hand in rebuilding Orison
- 3:20through missions spanning resource
- 3:23gathering, crafting, hauling, and
- 3:24combat. Following your feedback from the
- 3:26PTU, CIG say, "We've significantly
- 3:29reduced the requirements needed to
- 3:30complete the event, while its blueprints
- 3:32have been removed from the reward track
- 3:34and instead will be granted directly to
- 3:37your account. So, this is that they're
- 3:40going to be on your account permanently.
- 3:41They're going to be immune to wipes.
- 3:43you're going to have them after 1.0 of
- 3:45the game goes live. We'll keep hammering
- 3:47on alpha 4.10.1 in the PTU ahead of its
- 3:50live release later this week while work
- 3:52continues on alpha 4.11 which we now
- 3:54know is going to be released sometime in
- 3:56Q4 2026. What are the full features of
- 3:594.10.1? Well, there's that Orison relief
- 4:01support event. In the wake of the
- 4:03Ninetails attack on Orison, Crusader
- 4:05Industries is hosting a relief
- 4:06initiative to help rebuild the affected
- 4:08regions and upgrade their defenses.
- 4:10Players can take on a rotating slate of
- 4:12contracts [music]
- 4:13through the mobile glass and earn points
- 4:14towards a shared reward track that
- 4:16unlocks blueprints for new weapons and
- 4:19armor along the way. Contracts include
- 4:22gather and deliver, which are
- 4:24construction aid, medical aid, hauling
- 4:27and delivery missions, crafted aid, very
- 4:29similar, but you're crafting something
- 4:31and then delivering. I believe in this
- 4:33case prototype thrusters. There's also a
- 4:36set of combat missions for this. There's
- 4:37a ship ambush one which has you
- 4:39intercepting and destroying enemy ships.
- 4:41There's a ship wave attack one which is
- 4:43defending against waves of ships. And
- 4:44then there's an eliminate all FPS one
- 4:46which is clear out nine tales from some
- 4:48outposts in FPS combat. Completing any
- 4:51of those contracts earns points towards
- 4:53a single shared reward track and you
- 4:56gain the rewards as you go along and
- 4:58they're permanently added to your
- 4:59account which is really really cool.
- 5:01What I should actually say is I really
- 5:02like this. I think this is the way to do
- 5:04things for rewards. As long as they're
- 5:06not gamebreaking rewards where they're
- 5:09limited time and [music] if you don't
- 5:11get them, you have a significant
- 5:12disadvantage when the game does go to
- 5:141.0. But I like this idea for different
- 5:17weapon variants that are just a little
- 5:19bit different or visually different
- 5:20skins and things, armors. I'd actually
- 5:23like them to do this for sub items and
- 5:25the monthly bundles. Actually have them
- 5:27as blueprints that are allocated to your
- 5:28account. Really, really like that idea.
- 5:30But we'll see what they do in the
- 5:31future. Tell me what you think in the
- 5:32comments below about that. There are
- 5:34some other updates as well. They've got
- 5:37freight elevator updates. There's a
- 5:38limit how much you can put on the
- 5:40platform so it can't be overloaded.
- 5:43They've done a hauling contract
- 5:44distribution update to make locations
- 5:47more appropriate to SCU amounts and
- 5:50weights and what sort of cargo they want
- 5:52picked up and delivered. There's also
- 5:54some shard recovery updates which should
- 5:56help prevent shard lock of not being
- 5:58able to get back in the game because
- 6:00your character's locked in a shard.
- 6:02There's a huge amount of bug fixes and
- 6:04optimizations in that patch. We're not
- 6:06expecting any of the experimental ship
- 6:08balance updates that CI have been
- 6:10performing with the tech preview and
- 6:12Iardi to be included in this patch
- 6:14either. There's no planned wipe and that
- 6:164.10.1 build could go live anytime
- 6:19between now and the weekend. Going back
- 6:22to this week in Star Citizen post
- 6:24though, Friday you'll see an RSI
- 6:26newsletter. I'll chuck that in my news
- 6:28that I do on Saturdays or Sundays. On
- 6:30Saturday the 19th of September, CI are
- 6:34heading to Milan. Not all of them.
- 6:35They're turning up to Italy Milan for
- 6:38another bar citizen as part of their
- 6:40world tour. They say, "Join us at the
- 6:43Titan Gaming Center from 7 PM for an
- 6:45evening with fellow citizens and members
- 6:48of the development team, swapping
- 6:49stories, sharing feedback, and
- 6:51celebrating Star Citizen together. We
- 6:53can't wait to meet you there. So, come
- 6:54say ciao and raise a glass with us. If
- 6:57you can't join us in Milan, there are
- 6:59plenty of other bar citizens to check
- 7:01out, organized by fantastic members of
- 7:03the community. This Saturday in France,
- 7:04we're in Texas, Fort Worth and Austin
- 7:08and New Mexico, Albuquerque. Rally with
- 7:11fellow citizens and share your best
- 7:13pictures on social media. So yeah,
- 7:15you've got pirate week, pirate week
- 7:17sales, and the skins and lots of other
- 7:19random stuff to be getting on with.
- 7:214.10.1 will be coming out real shortly.
- 7:23I wonder if that will also turn up with
- 7:26that Saber Raven looking ship or Saber
- 7:28Raven sounding ship that we saw teased
- 7:31over the weekend. Whatever your
- 7:33thoughts, I would love to hear from you
- 7:34in the comments below. Tell me when you
- 7:36think 4.10.1's going to be released. Are
- 7:38you going to be getting involved with
- 7:40that Orison relief event so that you can
- 7:42get those permanent blueprints on your
- 7:44account? Does that make you want to play
- 7:45Star More and get involved with events
- 7:47like this? When do you think alpha
- 7:494.11's going to be released? When in Q4
- 7:532026 do you think it's going to be?
