Sony a6700 vs Canon R7 - Which Is The Better Buy? — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00hey there in this video I'm going to go
- 0:01over the Sony a6700 and how it Compares
- 0:04with the Canon R7 mostly for shooting
- 0:06video now the newly released a6700 which
- 0:09is what I'm shooting on right now is a
- 0:11very interesting release from Sony and
- 0:12it's important for a lot of people
- 0:13because it's Sony's highest end hybrid
- 0:15aps-c camera and it Compares really well
- 0:18with the Canon R7 which again is Canon's
- 0:21highest level aps-c hybrid camera and I
- 0:24think a lot of people are trying to
- 0:25decide between these two cameras so I
- 0:26wanted to make this comparison now it is
- 0:28rather toasty out here I'm in North
- 0:30Carolina so I'm gonna head inside
- 0:32because I think it'll be better for both
- 0:33me and the camera that's right
- 0:35overheating is definitely part of this
- 0:36discussion so we'll get on to that later
- 0:38on in this video all right so I'm back
- 0:40inside and it is much cooler in here
- 0:42before we get into this I just have to
- 0:44have a huge thank you to B H Photo who
- 0:46lent me the a6700 to make this video and
- 0:49a couple other videos I couldn't do this
- 0:51without their support and like usual I
- 0:53like to recommend that you shop at bmh
- 0:54photo because I personally buy most of
- 0:55my stuff from there there's links down
- 0:57in the description for the a6700 the R7
- 0:59and everything I use on a regular basis
- 1:01so big thank you to B H Photo now I also
- 1:03want to mention that I don't physically
- 1:04have a Canon R7 at the moment which is
- 1:07actually okay because I've only R7 for a
- 1:10long period of time and I've done
- 1:11extensive tests and reviews about the
- 1:13camera and I probably made more videos
- 1:14about shooting video on the R7 than
- 1:17probably anyone else on YouTube so I
- 1:19have a lot of experience with the camera
- 1:21and also when I have the R7 I was able
- 1:23to do technical comparisons with the
- 1:25fx30 and I'm going to show you a lot of
- 1:27those in this video because they're also
- 1:29applicable the fx30 and the a6700 have
- 1:32the exact same sensor and from
- 1:34everything I see and they produce
- 1:35identical images so I'll probably use
- 1:37the A600 6700 and fx30 interchangeably
- 1:40in a bunch of situations but I have
- 1:42these comparisons so we can talk about
- 1:44some of the technical differences
- 1:45between the R7 and the a6700 in terms of
- 1:49image quality these cameras are very
- 1:51very similar to each other because they
- 1:52both shoot an oversampled 4K up to 30
- 1:55frames per second so in these images
- 1:57that you're seeing the Canon R7 was shot
- 1:59in C1 log 3 4K fine ipb and the fx30 was
- 2:03shot in s-log 3 4K xavcsi both cameras
- 2:06at the base ISO of 800. I use the Sigma
- 2:0818 to 35 on both cameras now the reason
- 2:11why these cameras look very similar of
- 2:14course has to do with the oversample 4K
- 2:15the R7 has a 7K or a 7K in the a6700 has
- 2:20a 6K oversampled 4K now getting into
- 2:23pixel peeping a little bit with test
- 2:24charts to get a closer look at what's
- 2:26going on here because overall I don't
- 2:28see too much of a difference just
- 2:29looking at images so in 4k24 I would say
- 2:33that the image quality and the sharpness
- 2:35and the noise actually looks very
- 2:37similar between these two cameras and
- 2:39that's as I said before this the
- 2:41oversampled 4K image is going to be
- 2:43pretty similar between these two cameras
- 2:44now onto higher frame rates and that's
- 2:46we're going to see more of a difference
- 2:47between the Canon and the Sony's so on
- 2:49the R7 in 4k 60 there's two different
- 2:52ways of shooting it you can shoot a
- 2:53non-cropped 4K 60 which is line skipped
- 2:56so you're not going to get the same
- 2:57image quality or you can shoot a cropped
- 2:594K 60. so when you start talking about
- 3:02comparing that with the Sony's the
- 3:03Sony's are going to look better because
- 3:05they have an over sampled from 6K 4K 60.
- 3:08so take a look first at the non-crop 4K
- 3:1160 on the R7 I'd say full size they look
- 3:14pretty similar overall but when you zoom
- 3:16in the RS 7 is slightly less sharp but
- 3:19it's closer than I thought but
- 3:20definitely the R7 has more noise now
- 3:22when you're getting onto the 4k60 crop
- 3:24mode on the R7 this is a 1.81 times crop
- 3:27the R7 is slightly sharper in crop mode
- 3:29than non-crop mode but the fx30 is
- 3:31definitely sharper and less noisy than
- 3:33both the line Skip 4k60 and the 4k60
- 3:36crop mode getting onto 120 frames per
- 3:39second there's another big difference
- 3:40here in the way they handle 120 frames
- 3:43per second the fx30 and a6700 can shoot
- 3:464K 120 but it has a heavy crop on it and
- 3:50if you compare this with the R7 the R7
- 3:53does not shoot 4K 120 so to get 120
- 3:55frames per second you have to shoot that
- 3:57in 180 frames per second so comparing
- 3:59the 4K 120 against the 1080p 120 the FX
- 4:0234k 120 is slightly sharper and less
- 4:05noisy but it's actually closer than I
- 4:07thought and this has to do with the fact
- 4:09that we're cropping in on an aps-c
- 4:11sensor which is going to bring out more
- 4:13noise so overall I'll have to give a
- 4:16advantage to the slow motion or higher
- 4:18frame rate capabilities of the a6700 and
- 4:20fx30 in terms of image quality sharpness
- 4:23and noise but overheating is a different
- 4:25story and as I said we'll get to that
- 4:27later next let's talk about dynamic
- 4:28range so one of the big differences
- 4:30between the R7 and the a6700 is the fact
- 4:33that Canon only lets us shoot in c-log 3
- 4:36on the R7 and not in C log 2 which is
- 4:39their highest dynamic range log profile
- 4:41now the a6700 we can shoot an slog3
- 4:44which gives us the potential for the
- 4:45most amount of dynamic range so the
- 4:48first example here I want to show you is
- 4:50me in a dark room next to a bright
- 4:51window I suppose for the highlights and
- 4:53then take a look and see in the shadows
- 4:54what's going on here I have to give a
- 4:56slight Edge to the fx30 here there's
- 4:57definitely more information in the
- 4:59shadows and also if you look at outside
- 5:00the window behind me the highlights look
- 5:03better on the fx30 and it has a nicer
- 5:05roll offer it's softer and more pleasing
- 5:07and hold on to more information and this
- 5:09is basically because of the log curves
- 5:11of s-log 3 versus C log 3 and then
- 5:14taking a look at some earlier examples
- 5:16which I showed you if you take a look at
- 5:17this one with the car and you look in
- 5:18the background the Highlight roll off is
- 5:20much nicer on the fx30 and just looks
- 5:23better and then if you take a look at
- 5:25this example with my face here you can
- 5:26see the highlights again look more
- 5:28pleasing has a softer roll off so
- 5:30overall I'd have to give a dynamic range
- 5:32advantage to the fx30 and a6700 in terms
- 5:36of low light I have to say that these
- 5:38cameras have pretty similar performance
- 5:40in the low ISO range those are pretty
- 5:42steady increase of noise as the iso
- 5:45increases and they were both pretty
- 5:47similar up to around 10 000 but once you
- 5:50get to twelve thousand eight hundred and
- 5:51sixteen thousand the R7 was slightly
- 5:53better and above 16 000 neither of them
- 5:56were really that good these cameras are
- 5:58not really great in low light but I have
- 6:00to give a slight advantage to some of
- 6:01those higher isos to the R7 but again
- 6:03pretty similar in the lower ISO range up
- 6:05to about 10 000. in terms of autofocus
- 6:07the R7 came out about a year ago whereas
- 6:10the a6700 just came out and has that
- 6:12brand new AI chip for better autofocus
- 6:15technology and improvements now I didn't
- 6:17get to test this out of course because I
- 6:19don't have the R7 but the R7 has fewer
- 6:21subject detection modes it has people
- 6:22animals and vehicle the a6700 has human
- 6:26animal slash bird animal bird insect car
- 6:30slash train and airplane so this would
- 6:33be interesting to test out but a lot
- 6:34more different modes and new technology
- 6:36that's in in the a6700 because of that
- 6:39new AI chip next let's talk about Ibis
- 6:41now I was curious if the a6700 would
- 6:44have an improved Ibis system over the
- 6:46fx30 and the a6700 is actually listed at
- 6:50five stops of stabilization versus 5.5
- 6:52on the fx30 now I don't have all this
- 6:55stuff to compare but my buddy Jeff over
- 6:57at reach films made a video comparing
- 6:58them and I'll leave that video linked
- 7:00down below but basically the 6700 and
- 7:02the fx30 perform very similarly in terms
- 7:04of Ibis so the tests I made earlier with
- 7:07the R7 against the fx30 I think will
- 7:09give us a good idea about what's going
- 7:11on again I use the Sigma 18 and 35 for
- 7:13this these tests and when you're
- 7:14comparing the Canon system with the Sony
- 7:16system the Canon Ibis is the same you
- 7:20know as a sensor shift stabilization
- 7:21which is equivalent to like the standard
- 7:23Ibis in the Sony cameras and when you do
- 7:25Ibis plus electronic in the Canon it's
- 7:27similar to the active stab so if you
- 7:29take a look at these examples I always
- 7:31do walking tests and static shots now in
- 7:34terms of the walking shots here I'd say
- 7:36that the Canon doesn't way better job in
- 7:39terms of you know just making it look
- 7:40smoother and then when you get on to
- 7:43looking at the static shots I think they
- 7:45are pretty similar between the two
- 7:48systems here but one thing I do want to
- 7:50point out is that Canon does have a lot
- 7:52of stabilized lenses and I was using a
- 7:55non-stabilized lens in this example
- 7:56these examples because I was using the
- 7:57Sigma 18 to 35. so if you're using some
- 8:00of those stabilized lenses the R7 will
- 8:02perform better than shown in these
- 8:04examples next let's talk about rolling
- 8:05shutter and neither of these cameras are
- 8:07really that great for Rolling shutter
- 8:09performance but the fx30 is definitely
- 8:11better than the R7 I'd say the R7 is
- 8:13really bad so if rolling shutter is
- 8:15something that you are concerned about
- 8:16the fx30 is definitely better than the
- 8:18R7 next on to the big discussion of
- 8:21overheating and run times so the first
- 8:23test I want to talk about here are going
- 8:25to be in in the studio so it's 70 to 75
- 8:28degrees Fahrenheit and low humidity
- 8:29because the air conditioner is on the
- 8:31a6700 and 4k24 ran for two hours and
- 8:35three minutes when the battery died with
- 8:36no overheat warning this is fantastic
- 8:38because we didn't it didn't overheat and
- 8:40also two hours I think is a solid
- 8:42performance out of the battery now the
- 8:44R7 and 4K fine 24 ran until the battery
- 8:47died at 2 hours and 14 minutes it had
- 8:50three bars on the overheat meter now I
- 8:53really like that Canon has this meter
- 8:55because it gives you a sense of how warm
- 8:57the camera is versus Sony once you get
- 8:59close to overheating it just sort of
- 9:00flashes a warning and then shuts off so
- 9:02in addition to this there's also a
- 9:05non-fine mode in the R7 so you can shoot
- 9:084K 24 with a line skip mode so it's not
- 9:10oversampled now this does reduce the
- 9:12image quality but it allows the camera
- 9:14to run without overheating so if you're
- 9:16in a situation where you need extended
- 9:18run times you do not want to stress
- 9:19about overheating or if your camera
- 9:21overheats you could flip it into the
- 9:22non-fine mode and keep it running the
- 9:24a6700 does not have that mode another
- 9:27thing I noticed that's different about
- 9:28the can cameras and the Sony cameras is
- 9:30that when you plug an HDMI cable into
- 9:33the Sony cameras you get decreased run
- 9:35time when you're recording internally so
- 9:37if you you're just using a monitor or if
- 9:38you're live streaming or doing a podcast
- 9:40and you're also recording internally
- 9:42you'll get shorter runtimes so in the
- 9:45studio when I plugged HDMI into the
- 9:46a6700 IT overheated in one hour and 11
- 9:50minutes I then tried to extend the
- 9:52runtime using a dummy battery to try to
- 9:54pull some more heat out of the camera so
- 9:56with HDMI and the dummy battery it
- 9:58overheated in one hour and 31 minutes so
- 10:01when I ran it like I said earlier
- 10:03without the HDMI I didn't even see an
- 10:05overheat warning now I didn't test this
- 10:08on the R7 when I had the R7 but just
- 10:10from My overall experience testing all
- 10:12these cameras the HDMI
- 10:15being run off the camera while recording
- 10:17internally and the Canon cameras really
- 10:18didn't make much of a difference
- 10:19compared with the Sony cameras and also
- 10:22the R7 as I said before has that line
- 10:24skip mode if you really need it which
- 10:25runs cooler so in terms of 4K 24 I
- 10:28definitely have an advantage going to
- 10:29the R7 now onto higher frame rates the
- 10:33a6700 and 4k60 ran for 19 minutes until
- 10:37it overheated which is not a very strong
- 10:39performance like we were saying before
- 10:41the R7 has two different modes in 4k 60
- 10:43so in the non-fine that's the
- 10:46non-cropped but line skipped 4k60 it ran
- 10:48for an hour and 40 minutes until the
- 10:50card filled up but it did have six bars
- 10:52of overheating but it didn't overheat
- 10:54now the R7 in the 4K cropped 60 frames
- 10:58per second again ran until the card
- 11:00filled up at an hour and 40 minutes but
- 11:02the overheat warning was a 10 bars in
- 11:03flashing it was about to overheat so if
- 11:06you're looking for longer run times in
- 11:094k 60 I'd recommend the R7 but if you're
- 11:11looking for better image quality like we
- 11:13were talking about before the a6700 is
- 11:15going to be a better bet in terms of 120
- 11:18frames per second of course we can't
- 11:19test 4K 120 on the R7 because it doesn't
- 11:21do that but on the a6700 it only ran for
- 11:2418 minutes until it overheated now onto
- 11:27the outdoor tests so for all these tests
- 11:29I had the cameras out in the sun and
- 11:30being in North Carolina is usually
- 11:32pretty humid here so the a6700 when I
- 11:34tested it it was about 80 degrees
- 11:36Fahrenheit outside and in 4k 24 it
- 11:39overheated in only 22 minutes so not a
- 11:41very strong performance for the a6700
- 11:43when I tested the R7 last summer it was
- 11:46between 85 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit and
- 11:49in 4k fine 24 frames per second that's
- 11:51the over sampled 4K it ran for an hour
- 11:53and one minute so about three times
- 11:55longer than the 6700 but like I said
- 11:57before we have that line skipped or
- 11:59non-fine 4K mode so in 4k non-fine 24 we
- 12:03got two hours and 58 minutes until it
- 12:06ran out of battery so it didn't overheat
- 12:07so we got basically unlimited run time
- 12:09in that mode and also we got a longer
- 12:12run time just in terms of battery life
- 12:13than we did in the 4K fine so overall I
- 12:16have to say huge Advantage for the R7 in
- 12:18terms of heat management and not
- 12:20overheating nearly as quickly so there
- 12:22was a lot of details that I just went
- 12:23through there let's talk about what's
- 12:24the same between these two cameras I
- 12:26think over overall they have very
- 12:27similar image quality when you shoot out
- 12:28in the real world as you saw in those
- 12:30examples earlier on this video they both
- 12:32shoot 4K 10 bit 422 there's no recording
- 12:34time limits they both have an aps-c
- 12:36sensor and they have both have great
- 12:37battery life but now on to the
- 12:39differences first of all the sensors
- 12:41which I've been talking about before in
- 12:42terms of video but in terms of
- 12:43Photography the R7 has a 32.5 megapixel
- 12:47sensor versus a 26.1 megapixel sensor
- 12:49which can make a little bit of a
- 12:51difference in terms of Photography and
- 12:52cropping and all those sorts of things
- 12:54the epf-c sensor is a little bit tricky
- 12:56to understand here now with the Canon
- 12:58cameras they have a 1.6 times crop and
- 13:01in the Sony cameras they have a 1.5
- 13:03times crop so there's a little bit of a
- 13:06difference in video because in video the
- 13:08a6700 has an additional four percent
- 13:10crop so in video the R7 is a 1.6 times
- 13:14crop and the a6700 has a 1.56 times crop
- 13:18so they're a little bit closer in terms
- 13:19of codex there's definitely a difference
- 13:21between these two cameras the R7 has two
- 13:23different flavors you can shoot an ipb
- 13:25or ipb like right on the Sony camera
- 13:27they give you all their options so you
- 13:29can shoot in the xavcsi which is their
- 13:32all intra codec you can shoot in their
- 13:34xavcs which is their longop or ipv codec
- 13:37and they also have the HS codec which is
- 13:40their highly compressed h.265 so a lot
- 13:43more options for codex in the a6700 the
- 13:47higher frame rates is definitely a big
- 13:48difference which we've already talked
- 13:49about you get the oversampled 4K 60 in
- 13:52the a6700 and you get 4k 120 which you
- 13:55don't get any 4K 120 in the R7 in terms
- 13:59of the LCD screens on the back of the
- 14:00cameras the a6700 has a three inch 1.03
- 14:05million dot screen and the R7 has a
- 14:07three inch 1.62 million dot screen so
- 14:10the R7 has more resolution and in
- 14:12general I think looks better than the
- 14:14a6700 this is their older screen I was
- 14:17bummed when they didn't put the high
- 14:18resolution screen of the fx30 in this
- 14:21camera in terms of the evf they're both
- 14:23listed at 2.36 million dots but the R7
- 14:27definitely seems larger and easier to
- 14:29see and it's also in the center which I
- 14:31personally like because it's lined up
- 14:33with the lens versus the a6700 has that
- 14:36sort of range finder placement on the
- 14:38side here and it's just a lot smaller
- 14:40and harder to in my opinion look through
- 14:42and get a get an image out of but on
- 14:44paper they have the same amount of
- 14:45resolution in terms of photo frame rates
- 14:47the R7 has a pretty big Advantage here
- 14:49it can shoot 30 frames per second
- 14:50electronic and 15 mechanical the a6700
- 14:53can do 11 electronic and 11 Mechanicals
- 14:56so if you're into high burst rate
- 14:58photography then the R7 is going to have
- 15:00more of an advantage next let's talk
- 15:02about the body shape build quality and
- 15:04ergonomics and all that sort of stuff
- 15:05now when I first saw the a6700 and saw
- 15:08pictures and videos of it I was thinking
- 15:10I wasn't really gonna like it that much
- 15:11it looks kind of cheap and that kind of
- 15:13thing but after using it for a while it
- 15:15does feel pretty solid and I think
- 15:16better than I expected I think it's just
- 15:18personal preference really between you
- 15:20know the two cameras but there's a
- 15:21couple things I want to point out about
- 15:22the a6700 design first of all they made
- 15:25some really nice improvements I really
- 15:26do like this new implementation of the
- 15:29photo video snq dial it's both uh you
- 15:33know very accurate and satisfying and
- 15:35it's just it's it's a really nice
- 15:37location it's very simplified layout
- 15:39here there's not really a lot of extra
- 15:40buttons and dials you have your PS pasm
- 15:43dial and custom mode dial here and one
- 15:45thing that's really nice about the a6700
- 15:47is they finally put the third exposure
- 15:49control dial so you have one here one up
- 15:51top and then the wheel in the back uh
- 15:53like I said before I don't like this
- 15:54small evf but you do have the flip out
- 15:57rotatable screen so really nice for
- 15:59filming yourself one thing to point out
- 16:02here is I don't love these doors I'm
- 16:05trying to get used to them but um
- 16:07they're just a little bit hard to use
- 16:08and you kind of have to get your nail in
- 16:09there to like pull it open we also have
- 16:11Micro HDMI which of course is a bummer
- 16:13but the R7 also has that one big
- 16:15complaint about the body design are
- 16:17these strap triangle things I thought we
- 16:21were over these
- 16:23Flappy ones the newer cameras have like
- 16:25some sort of tension in there to hold it
- 16:26from flapping or they have that
- 16:27horizontal connection for the strap to
- 16:30go into which is really nice on cameras
- 16:31like the fx3 and fx30
- 16:34but they also put a nice big deep grip
- 16:36on this camera so it's really nice to
- 16:37hold and that means we have the full
- 16:40size fz100 battery which is fantastic
- 16:42and where we're getting really nice run
- 16:44times on the a6700 now the R7 in my
- 16:48opinion is a little bit nicer to hold
- 16:51and to use uh but again neither of these
- 16:53cameras I'm really going to complain
- 16:54about too much other than as I said the
- 16:56evf it's really just personal preference
- 16:58about the two cameras and which one you
- 17:00like personally I prefer the ergonomics
- 17:03and feel of the Canon cameras over the
- 17:05Sony cameras but the Sony camera Works
- 17:08absolutely fine and that's just my
- 17:09personal preference in terms of memory
- 17:11cards they both take SD cards but the
- 17:13one big difference here is of course the
- 17:15a6700 has one SD card slot whereas the
- 17:18R7 has two SD card slots so for some
- 17:22people that doesn't make a difference
- 17:23whatsoever for me personally I really do
- 17:25enjoy having dual card slots for
- 17:27redundancy if you're shooting any sort
- 17:29of client work or anything like that you
- 17:30have a backup all the time I always put
- 17:32two cards in my camera but I again for
- 17:34some people that really doesn't matter
- 17:35and one of the bigger things to talk
- 17:37about with these two cameras is not
- 17:39about the cameras themselves but the
- 17:40lenses in the Canon ecosystem in the RF
- 17:43aps-c system there really aren't a lot
- 17:46of lenses available there are a few but
- 17:48and there are also some cheaper
- 17:49full-frame lenses that you can use but
- 17:51there really aren't a lot of native RF
- 17:53lenses now you can use EF lenses and
- 17:55adapt them and I have a I've made a
- 17:57video about my recommendations for
- 17:59lenses for the R7 I'll leave that video
- 18:00linked down below but overall if you're
- 18:03going to buy a 6700 you have way more
- 18:05options both from Sony and third party
- 18:07for aps-c lenses for this camera so big
- 18:10Advantage for the Sony for lens options
- 18:13so as I try to wrap up this video let me
- 18:15first talk about why you want to buy one
- 18:17camera over the other so why is the R7
- 18:19better than the a6700 well it clearly
- 18:22has better heat management so if you're
- 18:25looking for longer run times and less
- 18:26overheating the R7 is going to be a
- 18:28better bet for you it also has better
- 18:30Ibis or stabilization it has slightly
- 18:32better low light again that was very
- 18:33slight but it I think in my opinion it
- 18:35does have better low light performance
- 18:36than the a6700 it has dual card slots
- 18:39instead of the single card slot in the
- 18:40a6700 it has better ergonomics and a
- 18:43better evf and that was subjective and
- 18:46in my opinion like I said but I did like
- 18:48it better you also get more megapixels
- 18:50for photography so if you're doing a lot
- 18:52of Photography you need to crop then
- 18:54that comes in handy you also get a
- 18:56higher burst rate in photography than
- 18:58you do on the a6700 so why is the a6700
- 19:01better well you get the more advanced
- 19:04autofocus features in with that AI chip
- 19:06you also get that auto framing feature
- 19:08which is really cool for filming
- 19:09yourself it's it's a lot of fun and can
- 19:11be handy in a few situations you also
- 19:14get those higher quality higher frame
- 19:16rates so the 4K 60 that's oversample and
- 19:18you also get 4k 120 you get more dynamic
- 19:21range because you have s-log 3 versus
- 19:23c-log 3 and you get better rolling
- 19:25shutter performance so the reason I'm
- 19:27making this video is of course trying to
- 19:29help everyone make the decision between
- 19:30the a6700 and the R7 because if you're
- 19:33watching this you're are probably
- 19:34wondering that but really you have to
- 19:36think Beyond just the camera decision
- 19:38because when you're buying one of these
- 19:40cameras you're buying into an ecosystem
- 19:41and like I mentioned earlier on the
- 19:43video part of that is lenses so the Sony
- 19:46e-mount has way more options for aps-c
- 19:49lenses and that's a big Advantage you
- 19:51also got to think about which lenses you
- 19:52already own which other bodies you own
- 19:53or might be upgrading to in the future
- 19:55also if you shoot with other people what
- 19:57system are they shooting on because if
- 19:59you're all in the same system you can
- 20:00shoot lenses the footage will match all
- 20:02that kind of stuff so it's not just
- 20:04a6700 versus R7 it's also the ecosystem
- 20:07that you're buying it to you really have
- 20:08to consider that now onto the price well
- 20:11at the time of recording this both
- 20:12cameras are 1400 here in the United
- 20:14States so again same price for those two
- 20:16cameras now to try to really wrap up
- 20:18this video let me try to answer the
- 20:19question of who these cameras are for
- 20:21these are hybrid cameras these are not
- 20:24dedicated video cameras so if you're
- 20:26doing either mostly photography or 50 50
- 20:29these are the kind of cameras that you
- 20:31should be looking at if you need long
- 20:33run times and it dedicated video camera
- 20:35that will be reliable and won't overheat
- 20:37luckily Sony has the fx30 which is sort
- 20:39of in this price range but if you're
- 20:41going to try to decide between these two
- 20:43cameras for video production the R7 does
- 20:45run longer because it has better heat
- 20:47management and you also have that
- 20:49non-fine mode that won't overheat but if
- 20:51you're looking for a camera that has
- 20:53that has better image quality in the
- 20:55higher frame rates and also has better
- 20:56dynamic range the a6700 will be better
- 20:58for you I think both these cameras are
- 21:00great as a hybrid camera keeping that in
- 21:04mind that you're not going to get crazy
- 21:05video production on these for extended
- 21:06period of times but short clips those
- 21:08sorts of things and get great
- 21:10photography capabilities in them they're
- 21:11both going to be awesome hopefully this
- 21:13helped you sort this out which one you
- 21:15should go with and if you did enjoy this
- 21:16video and found found value in it I
- 21:18would really appreciate you hitting
- 21:20subscribe thank you so much for watching
- 21:22and we'll see you in the next one
