Something Was VERY Wrong With the Fuel System in LegitStreetCars E55 Wagon… — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00Hey guys, welcome back. So today we are
- 0:02in legit street quarters. We have a very
- 0:05familiar E55 wagon behind us with a huge
- 0:08VRP Whipple. Since the last video, Alex
- 0:10has fixed the cooling issue, but has
- 0:12become a new issue. It will not start.
- 0:15There's no fuel pressure. So me and a
- 0:17good friend of mine, Cody, you may have
- 0:19seen him in some legit street cars
- 0:21[music] videos, are going to diagnose
- 0:23this and we're going to fix the issue. I
- 0:25have a suspicion that those AM pumps I
- 0:28specifically said
- 0:29>> do not use Alex, they're junk,
- 0:31>> may have caused a [music] problem. So,
- 0:33without further ado, let's get started.
- 0:41All right, guys. So, we have the wagon
- 0:43here. The fuel pumps are behind the
- 0:45seats there. And again, this is Alex's
- 0:47Whipple wagon. We helped him throw the
- 0:49VRP Whipple kit on many moons ago. And
- 0:53this is just one of my favorite cars
- 0:55that he has a W211 wagon, which is funny
- 0:58because I just recently got a W211 wagon
- 1:01and I have no use for it. I have plenty
- 1:03I have three other W211s and I nominated
- 1:07Georgie to get it. So Georgie will have
- 1:10a W211 E500 wagon um that needs a bunch
- 1:13of work. A good friend of mine wanted to
- 1:15give it to me to trade for a tune. So,
- 1:18we're working that out and then Georgie
- 1:19is going to purchase it for me and rip
- 1:21around a W211 wagon E500. So, I have a
- 1:24stock blower. Maybe I'll maybe I'll give
- 1:25him that for Christmas. I don't know.
- 1:27But I think Georgie's going to like You
- 1:28going to like that, Georgie?
- 1:30>> Man, I'm hyped. I'm hyped. Going to be
- 1:32drawn into the fold.
- 1:34>> Awesome. Awesome. We got We're making
- 1:36him a Mercedes guy after all. But look
- 1:38at this W211. So perfect and beautiful.
- 1:41Unlike the regular W211, the E5, the
- 1:43E55, the seats don't fold up like this.
- 1:46You have to fully take them out. But
- 1:47this being a seven-seater is different.
- 1:49And this is where the fuel pump was. We
- 1:52pulled out both buckets and we found the
- 1:55issue.
- 1:58Look at that.
- 2:00This pump looked like it was smoking a
- 2:02cigarette cuz it is burnt up. Look how
- 2:05old the fuel is in this one. So, this
- 2:07has been dead for a while. Old fuel.
- 2:14New fuel.
- 2:16And this one, I believe, shorted out as
- 2:17well. The wire, we cut the wires to get
- 2:19out, but it was not in good shape. So,
- 2:21we're going to throw in some Wall Bro
- 2:23450s, dual pumps. Fix all this up. Nice.
- 2:26Put it back in and see if we can get
- 2:28this running.
- 2:30>> It's like getting autograph from me.
- 2:32>> It's like getting an autograph from me.
- 2:34You don't watch it.
- 2:35>> Five.
- 2:35>> Four.
- 2:36>> Four. Yeah.
- 2:36>> All right. Can you guys shut the up so I
- 2:38can record?
- 2:39>> Modern Masters can't get a car fixed in
- 2:419 hours. It's just a fuel pump.
- 2:43>> What are you going to get this fuel pump
- 2:44in there? Thank you.
- 2:45>> Wow.
- 2:46>> Four minutes out here telling you what
- 2:47to do now.
- 2:48>> You're stealing stealing Alex's mechanic
- 2:50to do your dirty work.
- 2:53[laughter]
- 2:54>> And now you got Max Max.
- 2:58>> Yeah. Thank you, George. Max is getting
- 3:00the bill for the work on the wagon.
- 3:02>> Listen, when Max has to walk from the
- 3:04front counter, that is literally
- 3:05>> Wow. That's the most Canadian thing.
- 3:07>> Like we are 10 grand. If Max had to come
- 3:09back here and talk,
- 3:11>> it's weird though. I'm always in a
- 3:13different state than where Matt works.
- 3:14And he's there, too. That's so weird. He
- 3:17was supposed to be at working at Ben's
- 3:18house, but I saw him in Georgia doing
- 3:21something. Now he works down there. So,
- 3:23oddly enough, now he's back here. Is he
- 3:26coming back up here?
- 3:27>> No. Never.
- 3:29>> I don't know. DC Motorworks better watch
- 3:31out cuz
- 3:32>> actually I was about to put my new legit
- 3:33street.
- 3:33>> I think he just interviewed with Arie.
- 3:35>> No,
- 3:36>> I don't know. He's just being passed
- 3:37around. You're about to be a You're
- 3:39about to be a McLaren boy.
- 3:40>> No. Yep.
- 3:43>> So, Craig is
- 3:44>> Sorry, Cameron. You lost Matt.
- 3:45>> Craig's a butterfly.
- 3:48>> Can I do this?
- 3:48>> Who's giggle?
- 3:49>> I asked you for one thing. Can you give
- 3:51me a screwdriver?
- 3:52>> Not asked me for a screwdriver.
- 3:53>> Yes, I asked him for the dikes and you
- 3:54for a screwdriver.
- 3:55>> You did not ask me for a screwdriver.
- 3:56What kind would you Phillips, a flat, a
- 3:58Torx?
- 3:59>> Honestly, Cody, it looks like they I
- 4:01think I have to watch his video. I think
- 4:03they plastic welded them cuz it doesn't
- 4:06It feels like plastic, not glue, right?
- 4:08Well, George, you're the glue
- 4:09professional. Look at that. We're going
- 4:10to watch a YouTube video before we
- 4:12install these pumps.
- 4:14>> No, I want to see how he put them
- 4:15together. So,
- 4:17>> well, looks like he used
- 4:18>> So, Alex either glued or plastic welded
- 4:21these together. We'll have to watch the
- 4:22video. But my pumps, when I make stage
- 4:25three pumps, I buy the brand that's can
- 4:27unclick from here and they're not
- 4:28factory glued in. These ones, you can
- 4:30see the dab of glue from the factory.
- 4:31Mine uncip cuz you just buy the China
- 4:34buckets. The
- 4:35>> You buy the China cheap buckets cuz that
- 4:38unclips. throw the China pump away and
- 4:40they put real pumps in it. You put an
- 4:42OEM sensor in it and you're golden. You
- 4:43put a screwdriver in there, pop that,
- 4:46and then you can take the level sensor
- 4:49out so you can work on it. So,
- 4:51basically, we're just going to remove
- 4:52this junk here and put in some wall
- 4:54burrow pumps. Cody's going to wire it up
- 4:57and then this is going to eat. Just
- 4:59going to eat. [clears throat] This one's
- 5:01already coming apart.
- 5:02>> So, we're taking these out of here.
- 5:04>> Just the PL Yeah, the plastic things.
- 5:08So, I got her free. Just take this right
- 5:13here. And that is no longer good. We'll
- 5:15clean the bucket out really good with
- 5:17some brake clean. And before you put it
- 5:19back in the bucket, you'll take the
- 5:21sleeve, slide it over,
- 5:23and fit it. It's kind of a tight fit.
- 5:30And there you go. needs to be like up at
- 5:33the top
- 5:36basically like that.
- 5:40And that's how she'll sit.
- 5:42All right, we got a clean bucket.
- 5:45This extend your wires out.
- 5:57It's right at the top like that. Like
- 5:59so. Make sure the filter sock is
- 6:02oriented
- 6:04cuz this can spin around anyway.
- 6:10>> I think it'll be okay even just sitting
- 6:11in there with this with it like this.
- 6:14Just keeping it kind of wedged cuz I've
- 6:16had to do that before.
- 6:17>> It's not slopping around.
- 6:18>> Yeah. All right. And there you have it.
- 6:21That is them fitted in the buckets. So
- 6:24when it's in the car, it'll be like
- 6:26this. These will click together.
- 6:30And then I'll put the level sensor back
- 6:31in.
- 6:38Cool. And this is how it should look
- 6:40once it's fully installed. You can't
- 6:42like install it like this because you
- 6:44put one bucket in at a time and you have
- 6:46to like assemble it in the tank. But
- 6:49ta.
- 6:52All right, guys. And our sage tree fuel
- 6:53pumps are looking like this. And then
- 6:55we're going to connect hoses. We took
- 6:57these off the old pumps. We're going to
- 6:59put them on these quick connects and
- 7:01then tighten them down and it'll go from
- 7:03the pump to reach down and over to the
- 7:07feed. So, this will feed the cinder on
- 7:10the other side of the tank. And then
- 7:12this line hooks to the venturi hose and
- 7:15the feed blows by a venturi that when it
- 7:18goes to the other side of the tank and
- 7:20that venturi then sends the fuel on the
- 7:22other side of the tank back through this
- 7:24line and it dumps into the buckets and
- 7:26that's what keeps the pumps cool and
- 7:29constantly filled. So you know this tank
- 7:31is completely side of the thing is
- 7:32completely empty it's getting drawing
- 7:34fuel from the other side because of the
- 7:35venturi effect.
- 7:40>> [clears throat]
- 7:45>> And there you have it. They're ready to
- 7:47go in, ready to get wired, and then
- 7:49we'll be able to fire the beast up. All
- 7:51right, guys. So, Cody has the new pumps
- 7:54set in there. He wired in these really
- 7:56nice Deutsch connectors. They are Yeah,
- 7:58that's above and beyond quality for
- 8:00this. And you just got to get the pumps,
- 8:02the feeds done, the inventory line dump.
- 8:05So, it dumps from the other side into
- 8:07each bucket. And then you'll slide this
- 8:09assembly over. Drop the top hat down.
- 8:11And the only thing powered on this side
- 8:12is the pumps. The level sensor is
- 8:14actually the wire goes through the tank
- 8:16and then gets plugged in over here. But
- 8:18it actually is under this one inside
- 8:22there. But we don't need to mess with
- 8:24that. So once we get the top hat back on
- 8:28and connected, we will be able to prime
- 8:30it. The relays on the wagon. There was
- 8:34an amplifier. And shout out to Andy
- 8:36Pandy with the 55 wagons and G Wagons.
- 8:38And he told me the location and it's
- 8:40back here behind the subwoofer. So
- 8:42there's two fuses and two relays for the
- 8:45fuel pumps. And this is what fires it
- 8:47off. Usually you'll find these all
- 8:49melted and burned up. But Alex's look
- 8:51great. The pumps took the brunt of
- 8:53everything. So we should be able to rock
- 8:54and roll. Look who it is.
- 8:56>> I don't speak English.
- 8:58>> The man, the myth, the legend, the owner
- 9:00of this wagon.
- 9:01>> That's right. So, I wonder what's going
- 9:03to be running first, the E55 or the E63.
- 9:06And Craig's the man. I see you filming.
- 9:08[laughter]
- 9:09Yes, Craig is the man. You heard it here
- 9:11first. Don't edit it out, Anthony. I'm
- 9:15just rented shop help. And then Cody's
- 9:17killing it. Cody's doing the brunt of
- 9:19this.
- 9:20>> George is holding the flashlight like a
- 9:21good daddy.
- 9:22>> Yeah, man.
- 9:23>> All right, guys. I hear noises. Cody got
- 9:27it done. Cody, my boy
- 9:30>> running.
- 9:31>> She's a runner. What'd you do?
- 9:33>> Hard to see, but fuse melted.
- 9:35>> Fuse wasn't.
- 9:35>> Yeah.
- 9:36>> So, that fuse we thought was good was in
- 9:39fact Wow. What the hell? Where's it
- 9:40melted?
- 9:41>> It's very hard to see. It's in between
- 9:42that plastic line there.
- 9:43>> Wow. So, this is why you want to test
- 9:45them with a Oh, yeah. It's barely barely
- 9:48ballooned. And it fired right up. Good
- 9:50job, dude.
- 9:52>> Good job. So, the little fuse that was
- 9:54back there was melted and now it's good
- 9:56to go. She is running like a champ. Give
- 9:59her a Give her a rev for me.
- 10:01>> Yeah,
- 10:01>> Cooney.
- 10:05Oh yeah, it's alive. It's alive. And
- 10:09that's how you do 450s when your crap
- 10:12stock or AM pumps blow out. So, I got to
- 10:15get out of here. I got to get home. So,
- 10:17let's wrap this video up. All right,
- 10:19guys. That wraps up the video. We got
- 10:21the E55 wagon running. So, if you like
- 10:23this video, give it a big thumbs up.
- 10:25Share with your friends. Subscribe and
- 10:27I'll see Cody on the next one. Thanks
- 10:30for having me, Cody. Give a big hug. All
- 10:31right, see you guys.
- 10:35[music]
- 10:40Cuz I didn't even mention that where I'm
- 10:41at.
- 10:42>> Yeah, usually me like George's behind
- 10:45the camera.
- 10:45>> Shut the up, Matt.
- 10:47>> Shut the up, Matt.
- 10:50>> All right, guys. So, since Max has
- 10:52joined the team,
- 10:54>> Max, let's Cheers. Listen, I don't want
- 10:56this poison. I don't want this poison in
- 10:58my body.
- 10:58>> Oh, you don't want it? Wow. Look how
- 11:00Look how fast he's opening it up. Don't
- 11:02>> corrupt my editor.
- 11:03>> I don't want this poison, Craig. I can't
- 11:05believe you're making me do that. So,
- 11:11>> oh, RIP, Max.
- 11:14>> Now, Anthony, when you make fun of me,
- 11:15you can make fun of Max also and Cody
- 11:17because when I walked in, they both had
- 11:18I thought they were punking me, but they
- 11:20were both just enjoying.
- 11:21>> It was [music] actually just water
- 11:22instead of a master. It was a It was a
- 11:24tall boy white monster. I couldn't even
- 11:26It's like the extra kill me. That's
- 11:29awesome. I'm so glad I got this on
- 11:31camera. Look, I'm enjoy it. Show the
- 11:32monster label sticking out.
- 11:34>> Question. Where's your microphone?
- 11:35>> Right here.
- 11:36>> Oh, got it. I was going to say,
- 11:38>> what do you want me to show you?
- 11:39>> The monster label.
- 11:40>> The ingredients.
- 11:42>> Yes.
- 11:42>> Poison, cancer, diabetes. It's got
- 11:46>> all the essentials. All the essentials.
- 11:48>> AIDS in there.
- 11:51>> Damn. Can you say it again, Alex? Are
- 11:52you going to put it the same way in your
- 11:53video? Because I just added this to my
- 11:55video.
- 11:55>> No, it' be like at least like behind the
- 11:57scenes as my video. One way to bring it
- 11:59the other way.
- 12:02>> Um,
- 12:03>> hey guys.
- 12:04>> Quiet on set.
- 12:06Quiet on set.
