  1. 0:00I'm not a fan of gray walls at least in
  2. 0:02the way they're most commonly used it
  3. 0:04could be because I've been jaded from
  4. 0:06walking through renovated properties for
  5. 0:0810 years with 80% of them using gray
  6. 0:11paint only gray walls are like mullets
  7. 0:14no one likes them people just get them
  8. 0:16because other people have them ask
  9. 0:18someone who renovated their home with
  10. 0:20gray paint what the interior style of
  11. 0:22their home now is they'll say modern I
  12. 0:25want you to look back at them like a
  13. 0:26dare commercial and say no in the event
  14. 0:29you have moved into to a place with gray
  15. 0:30walls or you've committed sacrilege and
  16. 0:33chose to paint the walls gray on your
  17. 0:35own accord I am here to provide you the
  18. 0:37holy water to cleanse you of your sin
  19. 0:40today I'm giving you four things that
  20. 0:42you can do to actually make gray walls
  21. 0:45work the first thing to understand is
  22. 0:47just because you have gray walls does
  23. 0:49not mean that anything else in that room
  24. 0:51needs to be a shade of gray a common
  25. 0:53mistake people often make is that they
  26. 0:54choose gray flooring or gray cabinets or
  27. 0:57gray Furniture to match the walls you
  28. 1:00want to feel like you're coming home not
  29. 1:01going to the lab to give blood
  30. 1:04incorporate other colors to balance out
  31. 1:06the walls great room designs can often
  32. 1:08combine three to five colors to create
  33. 1:11an attractive cohesion multiple colors
  34. 1:13are used to construct a sense of
  35. 1:15contrast and balance so what other
  36. 1:17colors can you incorporate I'll give you
  37. 1:19two black and white now you choose one
  38. 1:22or two more and you're on your way the
  39. 1:24second thing is to remember that color
  40. 1:26combination is not the only
  41. 1:27characteristic of a great design our
  42. 1:30senses work together in order to
  43. 1:32interpret what is appealing as a whole
  44. 1:34so we can't forget touch and therefore
  45. 1:37texture using interesting and different
  46. 1:40textures among your accent pieces will
  47. 1:42heighten the sense of variety even if
  48. 1:44someone doesn't physically touch a
  49. 1:46textured piece of Decor their brain will
  50. 1:48register its presence you don't have to
  51. 1:51walk across a Shaggy rug to know what it
  52. 1:53feels like on your feet when you see it
  53. 1:55with your eyes your brain will recollect
  54. 1:57memories and interpret what a Shaggy rug
  55. 1:59feels like some examples of textured
  56. 2:02items could be choosing a leather
  57. 2:03furniture piece amongst fabric pieces or
  58. 2:06vice versa adding a furry and soft throw
  59. 2:10on your couch chair or bed placing some
  60. 2:12woven baskets or woven Furniture in the
  61. 2:14room or as mentioned before adding a
  62. 2:17textured area rug to the floor another
  63. 2:20element to create variety and design is
  64. 2:22material materials can cross the line
  65. 2:25into textures as hybrids Woods Metals
  66. 2:28Leathers straws fabric these will all
  67. 2:30add a refreshing Breath of Life into
  68. 2:33what would otherwise be a celebrated
  69. 2:35coffin coffee tables end tables storage
  70. 2:38baskets chairs Ottomans vases light
  71. 2:41fixtures shelving these all have the
  72. 2:43option to be crafted by materials other
  73. 2:46than basic synthetic Blends the fourth
  74. 2:49is a simple yet impactful variant and
  75. 2:51that is dimension in our case Dimension
  76. 2:53means taking the walls themselves and
  77. 2:56removing the appearance of pure flatness
  78. 2:58you can handle this objective by adding
  79. 3:00molding whether it be chair rail molding
  80. 3:02Wayne scotting ceiling molding crown
  81. 3:05molding or adding prefabricated panels
  82. 3:08to the wall or ceiling the best part
  83. 3:10about utilizing this element is that you
  84. 3:12can get creative by blending it with the
  85. 3:15other additions I have already mentioned
  86. 3:17for example you could add wood planks to
  87. 3:19a portion of your wall or ceiling this
  88. 3:22takes care of adding variety through
  89. 3:23Dimension as well as material white box
  90. 3:27molding could be added to a portion of a
  91. 3:29gray wall and you've accomplished both
  92. 3:31Dimension and color variety the list
  93. 3:34goes on play around with it if you would
  94. 3:36like my help in designing your room you

  96. 3:41down in the description hope you enjoyed
