  1. 0:00Zarkhived. Hey, Alex, 22, studying
  2. 0:02design next year and want to build
  3. 0:03Australia's best streetwear brand
  4. 0:06next 5 years. Do I stack cash via
  5. 0:07service business, work in a proven
  6. 0:09brand, or start and learn by doing?
  7. 0:16Mhm.
  8. 0:17I wouldn't start a service business.
  9. 0:19Um
  10. 0:20if that's what you really want to do. If
  11. 0:21you want to If you want to, you know,
  12. 0:23start Australia's best streetwear brand,
  13. 0:25I would probably look at Thing is, you
  14. 0:27don't want to work in a proven brand cuz
  15. 0:28they'll be too big and you won't get
  16. 0:29enough exposure to enough disparate
  17. 0:32types of work. And so, I would rather
  18. 0:34work with a very founder-driven
  19. 0:36small So, when I say small company, I
  20. 0:39kind of say like
  21. 0:41call it 10 to 30 max, maybe 40 max. So,
  22. 0:44you could have way more exposure. At
  23. 0:46least even maybe
  24. 0:47not to the work, but at least to every
  25. 0:49person doing the work. So, you could
  26. 0:51basically take all your lunch breaks,
  27. 0:52all your mornings, and all your
  28. 0:53afternoons and evenings trying to talk
  29. 0:54to other co-workers to learn what they
  30. 0:55do. So, you can learn about how to do
  31. 0:57it. Um
  32. 0:58I think that's one of the most
  33. 0:59underrated ways of
  34. 1:01of of learning any kind of new skill. Um
  35. 1:04you can obviously just start and learn
  36. 1:05on your own. I mean, you can look at Ben
  37. 1:06Francis and figuring out with Gymshark.
  38. 1:08So, there's nothing to say that you
  39. 1:10wouldn't be successful. Um I learned the
  40. 1:12gym business by literally just starting
  41. 1:14the gym business, but I still took 3
  42. 1:16months, and I did the basically like an
  43. 1:18apprenticeship under a successful gym,
  44. 1:20which kind of showed me the beginner
  45. 1:21ropes
  46. 1:22uh to doing it right. And so, that is
  47. 1:24how I literally did it. I worked for
  48. 1:26somebody for three-ish months. I got a
  49. 1:28good understanding of what I needed to
  50. 1:30do, and then I went out and did it on my
  51. 1:32own. Now, can you do it in less than,
  52. 1:33you know, more than 3 months? For sure,
  53. 1:34you don't have to do 3 months. You can
  54. 1:35do 6 or 12. Um but, I think you can give
  55. 1:37yourself a deadline that you want to say
  56. 1:39like I am going to make sure that I that
  57. 1:40I move on by this point. Um
  58. 1:43So, yeah. If you like this video and
  59. 1:44you're business owner who wants to break
  60. 1:45through your current revenue ceiling, I
  61. 1:47just distilled every lesson from scaling
  62. 1:4810 businesses past 10 million and three
  63. 1:50businesses past 100 million into a
  64. 1:52completely free scaling roadmap that
  65. 1:54I've used to go from 0 to 1, 0 to 10,
  66. 1:55and 0 to 100 plus. And so, you can click
  67. 1:58here, and you can check it out. Again,
  68. 1:59absolutely free, and since your business
  69. 2:01owner appreciates you, and uh enjoy.
