1. 0:00All right, I got offered triple my
2. 0:02salary at a job I already know will make
3. 0:04my soul leave my body. Do I take the
4. 0:06money and rent a therapist or stay poor
5. 0:09and happy with my business?
6. 0:11Um
7. 0:15I think we have to ask the question of
8. 0:18global versus local.
9. 0:20So, I'll tell you a story about this.
10. 0:22So, when I was considering starting my
11. 0:24first business, um I had uh a mentor,
12. 0:27it's my godfather. Uh I was talking to
13. 0:30him about my father. So, he has a prac-
14. 0:32My dad has a practice, he's a doctor.
15. 0:34And my dad has worked 30 hours a week my
16. 0:37entire life.
17. 0:38And my godfather said, "Hey man, like
18. 0:41maybe you should just consider taking
19. 0:43over your dad's practice." And I was
20. 0:44like, "I don't want to be a doctor." And
21. 0:45he said, "Dude, for 30 hours a week," he
22. 0:47said, "you can do whatever the hell you
23. 0:48want the other 100 and, you know, 20
24. 0:51hours uh of the week." He's like,
25. 0:52"That's basically like part-time." And
26. 0:55so, it's really looking at the global.
27. 0:56Now, obviously I didn't do that because
28. 0:57I have my own insecurities and didn't
29. 0:59want anyone to say that I was successful
30. 1:00because of my father. Um so, do what you
31. 1:03want with that.

33. 1:04>> Um but
34. 1:07I think you have to ask the question of
35. 1:08why do you make money?
36. 1:10Because if you make money because you
37. 1:11want to improve your life, you're taking
38. 1:14more money to literally do the opposite
39. 1:15of what you wanted money for to begin
40. 1:16with. And so, here's my Here's my
41. 1:18proposition for you.
42. 1:20Take that salary offer
43. 1:22and see if there's another position at a
44. 1:24different company that will not make
45. 1:25your soul leave your body.
46. 1:27And so, maybe you can get you can have
47. 1:28your cake and eat it, too. Like, there
48. 1:29is a door three here.
49. 1:31Um
50. 1:33And so, I would consider trying to take
51. 1:34that rather than say like poor and happy
52. 1:36or rich and miserable, you could
53. 1:38probably look at a third door and say
54. 1:39like can I make my business work better
55. 1:41or can I find a job that matches the
56. 1:43salary that I don't hate. If you like
