  1. 0:00Hey y'all. So, I'm about to run a quick
  2. 0:02errand and I figured why not just talk
  3. 0:06to you guys. Okay, so I'm gonna share
  4. 0:08with you guys the things that I do or
  5. 0:12the little tricks and strategies that I
  6. 0:15use in order to save money on clothing,
  7. 0:20jewelry,
  8. 0:21um, and spend less but get more. All
  9. 0:24right. So, let's do a quick little
  10. 0:28reverse, shall we? And then we're going
  11. 0:30to talk about it. Okay. So, one of the
  12. 0:34first things I try to do regarding
  13. 0:37jewelry is this. I try to buy my jewelry
  14. 0:42in February. Okay? So, if you have a big
  15. 0:46occasion
  16. 0:47uh or you're celebrating something and
  17. 0:50you want to give jewelry as a gift or
  18. 0:52you want to gift yourself jewelry, it's
  19. 0:54best to buy that piece of jewelry in
  20. 0:57February. And here's why. During
  21. 0:59Valentine's Day, right, whatever is left
  22. 1:03after Valentine's Day, they know that
  23. 1:06they're going to have a hard time
  24. 1:08selling those out. And as a result, they
  25. 1:12come up with a sale right after
  26. 1:15Valentine's Day. And I noticed this is
  27. 1:17just like a trend with all these jewelry
  28. 1:20companies. Another thing I do to save
  29. 1:23like serious money is girl, I literally
  30. 1:26just try to buy neutrals. If you watch
  31. 1:28my last video and the video before that
  32. 1:32and the video before that, you'll see
  33. 1:34that I always always wear neutrals. I'm
  34. 1:40usually wearing black or um olive. I
  35. 1:44love olive. To me, it's a neutral color.
  36. 1:47I wear a lot of tans and beige. This is
  37. 1:50my first time vlogging and driving, so
  38. 1:54it's kind of awkward.
  39. 1:56very awkward.
  40. 1:59Yeah. So, you should have a lot of
  41. 2:01neutrals in your closet to the point
  42. 2:03where you can literally be blindfolded.
  43. 2:06You should be able to blindfold yourself
  44. 2:09and choose a top and a bottom and it
  45. 2:11goes. It matches. Um, when you do that,
  46. 2:15you save a lot of money cuz you're not
  47. 2:16trying to mix and match different
  48. 2:18clothing items. Everything just goes
  49. 2:20together.
  50. 2:22It makes your life so much easier, so
  51. 2:24much simpler. Another thing I do to save
  52. 2:27money on clothing is I go to the thrift
  53. 2:31store usually during May because, you
  54. 2:34know, during those months, everyone's
  55. 2:37trying to do spring cleaning, right? And
  56. 2:40they're trying to get rid of things
  57. 2:42during the springtime, which means if I
  58. 2:45do go to the thrift store, I have more
  59. 2:47options. And a lot of the times if I do
  60. 2:50go to the thrift store, I try to look
  61. 2:52for things that still has tags on it
  62. 2:55because a lot of the times people buy
  63. 2:58stuff uh or get clothing and it's just
  64. 3:01not fitting correctly how they want it
  65. 3:03to fit and as a result they just don't
  66. 3:06donate it or give it away and it ends up
  67. 3:09at the thrift store. And that's where I
  68. 3:11come in and I get that piece of item for
  69. 3:14a bargain for a steal. So yeah, just go
  70. 3:18during May because it will save you a
  71. 3:22lot of money. It has saved me a lot of
  72. 3:25money and you have a lot more options.
  73. 3:28So one of the next things I do to save a
  74. 3:31lot of money on clothing is I actually
  75. 3:34just buy quality instead of quantity.
  76. 3:37So, you know, a lot of the times we go
  77. 3:40to buy clothing and we're like, "Oh,
  78. 3:43this shirt is for 10 bucks, but the
  79. 3:45other shirt is for 40 bucks." Like, I'm
  80. 3:48that girl that's going to literally buy
  81. 3:51the 40 bucks shirt if the quality is
  82. 3:54really good. Yeah. Because when you buy
  83. 3:57good quality things, you spend less time
  84. 4:00replacing it and more time actually
  85. 4:03wearing the item. So that's something
  86. 4:06that you should consider as well because
  87. 4:09if I have a good denim, why do I need 7,
  88. 4:1310, 20 pairs of denim? Denim is denim.
  89. 4:17They all look the same. You know, it's
  90. 4:19different if you want like a light wash
  91. 4:21denim and a dark wash. Yes, that's
  92. 4:23different. But if I already have a light
  93. 4:25wash denim, why do I need another light
  94. 4:28wash denim?
  95. 4:30Yeah, just buy quality so you don't have
  96. 4:32to constantly spend money replacing your
  97. 4:35items. It has worked for me. I'm sure it
  98. 4:37will work for you, too. Another way I
  99. 4:40save money on clothing is to actually
  100. 4:42get swimsuits during August. Remember,
  101. 4:46that's when the summer is coming to an
  102. 4:49end. So, stores, they put their bikinis,
  103. 4:52they put those swimsuits and stuff like
  104. 4:55that on sale. So, you're getting it at a
  105. 4:59discounted price. Yeah, that's what I
  106. 5:02tend to do. I usually get it like up to
  107. 5:0575% off. That That was mindblowing.
  108. 5:09Buy your summer stuff in the winter and
  109. 5:12your winter stuff during the summer. So,
  110. 5:16usually I would stock up on swimsuits so
  111. 5:19when next summer comes around, I'm good.
  112. 5:22Another thing I do to make clothing a
  113. 5:25lot more affordable is to always have a
  114. 5:28little black dress. Okay, I always have
  115. 5:31a little black dress that I just take
  116. 5:36out for any occasion.
  117. 5:39So, let's say for example, I'm going
  118. 5:43somewhere but I don't know what to wear
  119. 5:45and I don't want to buy clothing or go
  120. 5:48shopping for a little event. I'll just
  121. 5:51pull my little black dress out and it
  122. 5:52should go great for every occasion. For
  123. 5:56a funeral, it should go well
  124. 6:00for, like I said, a funeral. Um, what
  125. 6:04else? If I'm going to a dinner or a nice
  126. 6:07restaurant, it should be able to fit,
  127. 6:11you know, to work great. So, yeah, have
  128. 6:15a little black dress. It will save you a
  129. 6:17lot of headache in the future. Another
  130. 6:19thing I do to save money on clothing is
  131. 6:22to buy my denim during October because
  132. 6:26guess what? During October, all the kids
  133. 6:29are back to school. All right, denim.
  134. 6:32Everyone already has enough denim for
  135. 6:35school for those who, you know, don't
  136. 6:37usually wear uniforms and stuff. And by
  137. 6:41October, they're putting a lot of denim
  138. 6:44on sale. the denim that hasn't or wasn't
  139. 6:47sold during the back to school rush. So,
  140. 6:50I always get a bargain during October.
  141. 6:54So, write that down, girl. Write that
  142. 6:56down. October is denim month. Okay? And
  143. 7:00yeah, you'll be able to save a ton of
  144. 7:02money if you purchase it in October. So,
  145. 7:04another tip for saving money on clothing
  146. 7:06is to go straight to the clearance
  147. 7:08section. Girl, do not be going to a
  148. 7:13freaking store and rush straight to the
  149. 7:16regular section. No, because we're not
  150. 7:18in there to spend regular money. Go
  151. 7:20straight to the clearance section
  152. 7:22because you will find a steal in the
  153. 7:25clearance section. The other day I was
  154. 7:28at Old Navy and I was looking for a lot
  155. 7:31of different items for my son and I got
  156. 7:36an outfit top and bottom for eight
  157. 7:39bucks. I'm talking real good quality,
  158. 7:42thick, good material,
  159. 7:45perfect, you know, for literally eight
  160. 7:49bucks. Usually on a regular day that
  161. 7:52eight bucks outfit would have almost
  162. 7:54been 40 bucks. And I love Old Navy for
  163. 7:58clothing, so I'm always checking the
  164. 8:00clothing section, you know? I I know the
  165. 8:03prices. Yeah, it was literally
  166. 8:07eight bucks for an outfit for a kid. And
  167. 8:11on a regular day, it's almost 40. So, to
  168. 8:13me, that's a steal. A lot of the times
  169. 8:15clearance might have offse things. For
  170. 8:18example, when it's the winter, they have
  171. 8:20summer stuff in clearance and vice
  172. 8:22versa. But where I live, nobody is
  173. 8:26wearing coats, okay? So, I kind of get
  174. 8:29away with the this whole thing here. And
  175. 8:34yeah, clearance, here I come. Another
  176. 8:37way that I actually save money on
  177. 8:39clothing is to just not care about
  178. 8:43trends. Like this, these trends, they're
  179. 8:48killing me, y'all. Okay? Like, I'm not
  180. 8:50going to care about what's trending. I'm
  181. 8:52gonna go for more timeless, classy
  182. 8:55pieces when I'm dressing up and going
  183. 8:57out. You will never catch me wearing
  184. 8:59trendy stuff because in a few months
  185. 9:03they go out of style and when you wear
  186. 9:06it when it's out of style, it seems like
  187. 9:09you're wearing dated stuff and I'm not
  188. 9:12into that. I always stick to classy
  189. 9:15pieces. Like for example, denim will
  190. 9:17never go out of style. A plain white
  191. 9:20t-shirt will never go out of style. A
  192. 9:22nice clean button down will never go out
  193. 9:25of style. Like there are certain pieces
  194. 9:26that just won't get out of style. And
  195. 9:30when you invest in those pieces, you'll
  196. 9:32have it in your wardrobe for a very,
  197. 9:35very long time. So yeah, guys, those are
  198. 9:39all the things that I do in order to
  199. 9:43really save a lot of money on clothing.
  200. 9:47Um, let me know what else you do in your
  201. 9:51life to save money on clothing. I would
  202. 9:53love to hear it because y'all know I'm
  203. 9:55the frugal girl around here. Like, I
  204. 9:57love getting a good steal, a good deal.
  205. 10:00So, yeah, let me know. And thanks for
  206. 10:03tuning in today and I'll see you next
  207. 10:05time.
