- 0:35get started. Okay, so once you click on
- 0:36that link in the video description,
- 0:38it'll take you to this page here and you
- 0:39can sign up for free. So, you'll go
- 0:41ahead and put in your email. Then you'll
- 0:42click on next. On the next page, you'll
- 0:44put in your email, your password, and
- 0:46then you'll click on create Shopify
- 0:48account. On the next page, it'll prompt
- 0:50you to enter in your credit card
- 0:51details, but we can skip this for now.
- 0:52So, here at the bottom, I'll click on
- 0:54skip. Next, it'll ask us where we want
- 0:56to sell. And here I'll just select an
- 0:58online store and click on next. Next,
- 1:01it'll ask us if this is a new or
- 1:02existing business. I'll just click on
- 1:04new business and click on next. Next,
- 1:06it'll ask us what we want to sell, but
- 1:08I'll just click on I'll decide later and
- 1:09click on next. Lastly, you'll give your
- 1:11store a name. So, I'm going to put the
- 1:12Wilson shop and click on finish. Okay.
- 1:16Now, before going any further, the first
- 1:17thing we need to do is verify our email.
- 1:19So, you're going to check your email
- 1:20account and you'll get an email from
- 1:22Shopify. Make sure you verify your email
- 1:23address. So, right here, I'll click on
- 1:26confirm email. All right, cool. So, now
- 1:27our email address has been verified.
- 1:29Now, the very first thing that we're
- 1:30going to do is we're going to adjust the
- 1:32theme of our store. Now, real quick, I
- 1:33want to close this AI builder. We'll
- 1:35talk more about this a little bit later,
- 1:37but you can turn this on or off by
- 1:38clicking on this logo here at the top.
- 1:40But for now, I'm going to close it and
- 1:42let's go over here to online store. Now,
- 1:44a Shopify theme is essentially the look
- 1:46and feel of your Shopify store. If you
- 1:48want to view your store right now, here
- 1:49I'll click on view your store. And this
- 1:51is an example of what your store looks
- 1:53like right now. So here we have this
- 1:54banner, we have some demo products, and
- 1:56then we have a sign up form at the
- 1:58bottom. Now, if you want to switch your
- 2:00theme, let me show you how to do that.
- 2:02Let's go scroll down here at the bottom.
- 2:03And then here we have popular free
- 2:05themes. Right here, I'll click on visit
- 2:07theme store. Now, Shopify offers a total
- 2:10of 24 free themes to switch from. So
- 2:13here we have a list of variety of free
- 2:16themes that you can go ahead and import
- 2:17on your store. If you want to use one of
- 2:19these themes, for example, I like the
- 2:21trade one. I'll click on the trade theme
- 2:23and then at the bottom right I'll click
- 2:25on try theme and now it's installing the
- 2:27trade theme on our store. Now going back
- 2:29to our Shopify dashboard if I scroll
- 2:31down you'll see that this trade theme
- 2:33has been installed. Now I need to
- 2:34publish it. So I'll click on the publish
- 2:36button and then publish this new theme
- 2:38to my store. Cool. Once I do that here
- 2:40I'll click on the view your store and
- 2:42voila here is our new theme installed on
- 2:44our Shopify store. But if you want to go
- 2:46back to the Horizon theme, we can
- 2:48actually go back down and under Horizon,
- 2:51we can actually switch back to the
- 2:52Horizon. So here, I'll click on publish
- 2:54and publish. Now, there's one thing to
- 2:57note. If you do all the work on one
- 2:58theme, it's saved under that theme. So,
- 3:00if you build your store and you switch
- 3:02themes, uh you're going to have to start
- 3:03over from scratch. So, make sure that
- 3:05you do pick a theme that you like from
- 3:06the start. So, next, let's talk about
- 3:08how to customize our website using the
- 3:09theme. Now, over here, we have this edit
- 3:11theme button. Let's click on edit theme,
- 3:13and this will turn on the customizer.
- 3:15Okay, so this is the interface for
- 3:16Shopify and this is where we can build
- 3:18our store. Now, before we jump into the
- 3:20editor, let's just explore some of these
- 3:21options. Now, here at the top, this is
- 3:24where you can navigate to different
- 3:25parts of your websites, like different
- 3:27pages and also the cart and checkout.
- 3:29We're going to customize our product and
- 3:31collection page a little bit later. On
- 3:33the right side up here, you'll see that
- 3:34you can adjust this for mobile and also
- 3:37see what it looks like in a full screen
- 3:39preview. So, if you want to adjust the
- 3:41size of the screen and see what it looks
- 3:43like for different devices, you can
- 3:44adjust that. They also have this new
- 3:46thing called Sidekick. Now, this is an
- 3:49AI tool, and we're going to come back to
- 3:50this a little bit later. I personally
- 3:52wouldn't recommend it to build your
- 3:53store. It doesn't really do a good job,
- 3:55but it is helpful if you want to make
- 3:57products and categories. So, I'm going
- 3:59to close this. On the left side, you'll
- 4:01see you have elements. So, here we have
- 4:03our header, and then you can see
- 4:05elements within the header. If I click
- 4:07on announcement bar, I can now customize
- 4:09the specific elements. And every single
- 4:12module with Shopify has their own
- 4:14styling options. For example, here
- 4:16you'll see I can make this full width or
- 4:18page size. We can adjust the thickness,
- 4:20padding, and a few other options. Now,
- 4:23when I click on another element, you're
- 4:24going to see that I have different
- 4:26options for each specific element. Now,
- 4:28here I can actually collapse these to
- 4:30hide everything else. Now, what's also
- 4:32really cool is I can actually rename
- 4:34these. So, if I click on this and click
- 4:36on the three dots and click on rename, I
- 4:38can just rename this to menu, right?
- 4:39Because this is actually our menu. I
- 4:40don't know why it's called the header.
- 4:42So, I'm going to enter in menu. Click
- 4:44away. And then if I click on back,
- 4:46you'll now see it changes to menu. And
- 4:48that makes a lot more sense. So, this is
- 4:50our header section. And below that, we
- 4:52have our hero section, which is our main
- 4:54hero image on our website. And then
- 4:56below that, we have the footer section
- 4:58down here. And when I hover over it, the
- 5:00screen will actually bring us to that
- 5:02specific section. So let's scroll up
- 5:04here and let's adjust our homepage. Now
- 5:06I've already created another Shopify
- 5:08store over here and I'm using the same
- 5:09exact theme. So here we have our logo.
- 5:12We have a split screen effect. And then
- 5:14here we have some text. We have our
- 5:16collections which are essentially your
- 5:18product categories. Below that we just
- 5:20have some more upsells regarding our
- 5:22products. And below that we have our
- 5:24products right here in a really nice
- 5:26clean format. And we've also integrated
- 5:28this quick ad where I can just quickly
- 5:29add it and then it's added to the cart.
- 5:31So, I'm going to walk you through how to
- 5:32create something like this in this
- 5:34video. So, I'm going to walk you through
- 5:35how to create a very optimized Shopify
- 5:37store in this video. Now, the first
- 5:39thing that we're going to do is upload
- 5:40an image. Now, I have demo images for
- 5:42all of you. You can access those images
- 5:44in the video description. So, right here
- 5:46for media 1, I'll click on select. And
- 5:48then here, I have images in my Lita
- 5:50library. Now, in order to upload your
- 5:52own images, you'll click on add files.
- 5:54And here you'll see that I have this
- 5:56Shopify folder where I've included all
- 5:58these image. So, if you click on one
- 6:00image and you hold shift and you press
- 6:01down, you can actually go ahead and
- 6:03upload all of these to your Shopify
- 6:05store. And you can use these images to
- 6:07follow along in this tutorial. So, I do
- 6:09recommend you upload them. So, once you
- 6:11upload them, you'll see that you have
- 6:12them available right here. And I'm going
- 6:14to select this one with the woman
- 6:16holding this basketball and then click
- 6:18on done. And that's now going to change
- 6:20my hero image. Now, if you want to have
- 6:22a split screen effect, very similar to
- 6:24what I did right here, all you got to do
- 6:26is add in a second image for media 2.
- 6:28So, I'll click on select and I'll select
- 6:31this guy here and then click on done.
- 6:33Next, I want to change this heading
- 6:35text. So, I'll click on the heading text
- 6:36and then we can adjust our heading text
- 6:38here. So, I'll go ahead and change the
- 6:40text. And below that, we can adjust the
- 6:42layout. So, if you want this like uh
- 6:44very long, you can go ahead and change
- 6:46the max width. Then you can change the
- 6:48position of this text here on your
- 6:50landing page. Now the next option is
- 6:52typography. Now what I recommend to do
- 6:54here is adjust your presets before
- 6:56building your store. So right here I'll
- 6:58click on theme settings. And here are
- 7:00the fonts that we can use to adjust our
- 7:01store. Now these fonts right here are
- 7:03very generic, very ugly. So I do want to
- 7:06adjust this. So for my body I want to
- 7:08give it a little bit more taste. So I'm
- 7:09going to select SF Mono. This is the one
- 7:11I chose for my demo store. So I'm going
- 7:13to select this one here. Now, what this
- 7:15is going to do, it's going to change a
- 7:17lot of the smaller text, but it's not
- 7:18going to change the heading text. So,
- 7:20I'm going to use a different font for
- 7:21that. The subheading, I'm going to leave
- 7:23this as enter. And also the asense, I'll
- 7:25also leave that as enter. However, for
- 7:28the heading, I'm going to select my own.
- 7:30So, I decided to select bayon. And once
- 7:33I do this, all the heading text will
- 7:35adjust on my website. So, here I'll
- 7:37click on select. Now, if we scroll down
- 7:39through rest of the websites, you're
- 7:41going to see now it looks a little bit
- 7:42different. it adds that little sports
- 7:44feel to it. So, I feel like that font
- 7:45really works well for my store. So,
- 7:47you're going to select a font that works
- 7:49good for your store. And once you do
- 7:50that, we can move on. So, next we're
- 7:52going to scroll down and here we have
- 7:54heading one. Now, this is optional. You
- 7:56don't have to do this, but if you want
- 7:57to adjust the heading size for each
- 7:59specific H1 and H2 and H3 tag, you can
- 8:02do that right here. For example, for the
- 8:04H1, I'll make this a little bit larger.
- 8:06I'll put 88.
- 8:08For the uh H2, I'll go ahead and put 72.
- 8:12And then I'm going to slowly make this a
- 8:14little bit smaller here. So the H3, I'll
- 8:18leave this as 32. And I think that's
- 8:20good. So I just want to adjust those
- 8:22fonts. So now when I actually design my
- 8:24website, I can just refer to the
- 8:26presets. Next, let me show you how to
- 8:28adjust the color schemes for each
- 8:29section on your website. Now here we
- 8:32have colors. Now you can apply these
- 8:34color schemes to each individual section
- 8:36of your websites. Now I want to apply a
- 8:38color scheme to this section here. So,
- 8:40I'm going to click on color scheme 2.
- 8:42Now, for this section, I'm going to
- 8:44change my headings to white. So, here we
- 8:46go. I'll change this to white. And the
- 8:48text as well, I'll change this to white.
- 8:50Now, once I scroll down here, you're
- 8:52going to see primary button. Now, I can
- 8:54change the background color for this,
- 8:56right? So, for example, if I want this
- 8:57to have a white background and black
- 8:59text, I'll go ahead and change the text
- 9:01here to black. Okay. Now, we can't see
- 9:04what we're doing right now, obviously.
- 9:06So, what I want to do here is now apply
- 9:08this color scheme to this section. So we
- 9:10can actually visually see the changes
- 9:11being made. Real quick, I'll go ahead
- 9:13and click on save. So to apply a color
- 9:15scheme to a section here, I'll click on
- 9:17this hero section and I'll click on
- 9:19hero. Now we're going to scroll down and
- 9:21on this section you're now going to see
- 9:23appearance. So I want to apply color
- 9:25scheme 2 to this specific section. So
- 9:28now we're applying color scheme to this
- 9:29specific section. Now here we have an
- 9:31overlay color. Notice how it's a little
- 9:33dark. So I want to get rid of that
- 9:34overlay. So here I'll go ahead and just
- 9:36reduce the opacity.
- 9:39And there we go. Next, I want to style
- 9:41the button for this landing page. So to
- 9:43do that, I'll click on color scheme.
- 9:45Then I'll click on edit. And all I got
- 9:48to do is change the background for the
- 9:49secondary button. So here we have the
- 9:52secondary button. And here I'm going to
- 9:54put a white background. And there we go.
- 9:57So now we can adjust the background for
- 9:58that button. So, now that we've made our
- 10:00landing page look really clean, if you
- 10:02want to add elements in between these
- 10:03sections, all you got to do is click on
- 10:05this plus right here. And then here we
- 10:07have a list of elements. So, I'm going
- 10:09to select text. And then here we have
- 10:11some text. And then obviously we can
- 10:13click on this and then you can add a
- 10:15little bit more about the text. So, I'll
- 10:17go ahead and change this to something
- 10:18else. And then once I click on the text
- 10:21module, you now see that we can fully
- 10:22customize the text. Okay, cool. And if
- 10:25you also want to adjust the size of the
- 10:27text, you can always go into the
- 10:28presets. And if you don't want to use
- 10:30the presets, you'll just click on custom
- 10:32here. And then you can change the size
- 10:34of the text. So now that we have a
- 10:35really nice looking landing page, now
- 10:37let's adjust the logo of our website. So
- 10:39up here at the top, I'll click on Wilson
- 10:41Shop. And we need to edit the logo in
- 10:43the theme settings. So I'll click on
- 10:45theme settings. And here we can upload a
- 10:47logo to our store. So for the default
- 10:49logo, I'll click on select. And I'm
- 10:52going to select this one right here,
- 10:53Gear Grove. Click on done. And look at
- 10:56that. We now have a logo on our store.
- 10:57It just makes it look a lot more
- 10:58official. Right now, we also need to
- 11:00upload a favicon to our store. A favicon
- 11:03is the icon that appears at the top of
- 11:05the browser when people visit your
- 11:06store. So for favicon, I'll click on
- 11:08select.
- 11:10I'll scroll down and I'll click on the
- 11:12Gear Grove again and click on done. Now,
- 11:14if you want to adjust this menu bar
- 11:16right here, we can click on the menu bar
- 11:18and click on menu right here. Here we
- 11:20can adjust the logo position, the menu
- 11:22position and also adjust the color. So
- 11:24for example, if you want the logo in the
- 11:26center or in the right, you can move the
- 11:28logo around and also the same thing here
- 11:30for the menu as well. If we scroll down,
- 11:34you can turn on or off these elements.
- 11:36So this is the search icon. I do
- 11:38recommend to leave these on because they
- 11:39do make your store a lot more optimal.
- 11:41Below that, we have some options for the
- 11:43menu where we can make it compact or
- 11:46standard. And you can browse through
- 11:47these options and adjust them. Next, we
- 11:49have the color scheme. Now, I mentioned
- 11:51before how you should make each row
- 11:52their own color scheme. So, I'm going to
- 11:54select row one, and we're going to use
- 11:56this as scheme one. And then here, I'll
- 11:58click on edit. And now, we can design
- 12:01the actual background of the menu. So,
- 12:03for example, I'm going to change this to
- 12:05something like like darker. Now, notice
- 12:07here how it's also changing these other
- 12:08sections. And that's because they're
- 12:10also using scheme one, but uh I'll show
- 12:12you how to fix that in just a bit. So,
- 12:14you can go ahead and select a specific
- 12:15color scheme here to fit your liking.
- 12:18I'll go ahead and select something like
- 12:19this, uh, like a very subtle gray. So,
- 12:21here I'll select gray, and I'll just
- 12:23reduce the opacity of it, like a very
- 12:25soft gray. There we go. So, now we have
- 12:27a really nice subtle gray on our
- 12:28websites. Now, I also do want to get rid
- 12:30of this announcement bar. I just feel
- 12:32like it's just not really needed, right?
- 12:33It's taking up a lot of space and it
- 12:35just it's just a very weak text, you
- 12:37know? So, I'm going to go ahead and
- 12:39click on the announcement bar and click
- 12:41on remove. So, next, let's go ahead and
- 12:44talk about how to add in sections. So
- 12:45over here I'll click on add a section
- 12:47and this is essentially where you can
- 12:49add in sections. Now Shopify has a weird
- 12:52way of showing the section. So if you
- 12:54collapse banners and if you collapse
- 12:57collections and you scroll down you'll
- 13:00actually have more elements here. So I
- 13:02guess that's a glitch or something. I'm
- 13:04not really sure. But uh what I want to
- 13:05do here is I want to select the marquee.
- 13:07Okay. And there we go. So now we have
- 13:09that marquee there just like our demo
- 13:11websites. And if I click on this, I can
- 13:13always adjust the text here on the left
- 13:15side. The next thing I want to do is add
- 13:17in a new section. So I'll click on add a
- 13:19section. And we're going to click on
- 13:21collections this time. And I do want to
- 13:24insert a collection list grid. So I'll
- 13:27select collection list grid. Essentially
- 13:29what this is is categories. And what
- 13:31we're going to do is we're going to
- 13:32basically add in a categories a little
- 13:34bit later and they're going to propagate
- 13:36here automatically. Now for the rest of
- 13:38these sections, I want to change the
- 13:39background to white. So before going any
- 13:41further, I'm going to click on one of
- 13:43these sections here and adjust the color
- 13:45scheme to three. And then I'm going to
- 13:48actually edit the scheme three and just
- 13:50change the background to white. Okay, so
- 13:53this one's going to be white. And also
- 13:55this section here, we're also going to
- 13:57make this section white as well.
- 14:00So I'll change this also to three. I
- 14:02would just use like uh you know three is
- 14:04like the body of your website, right?
- 14:06And then also here I'm also going to
- 14:08change this to scheme three. There we
- 14:11go. I've seen many tutorials on YouTube
- 14:13and a lot of guys who make these Shopify
- 14:14tutorials, they completely ignore the
- 14:17color and the fonts because they do find
- 14:18it difficult. But once you implement a
- 14:20system, you can adjust the colors and
- 14:22fonts really easily on your Shopify
- 14:24store. Now, the last thing I want to do
- 14:26is adjust our collection grid. So, I
- 14:28actually want to add a border to this.
- 14:29So, what I'm going to do here is click
- 14:31on the collection card and I'm going to
- 14:33turn on solids and we're going to add a
- 14:35little bit of border here. So, I'm going
- 14:38to put in like three pixels of border.
- 14:40And what that's going to do is that it's
- 14:42actually going to add a border around
- 14:43our collection. Very similar to our demo
- 14:45website. So, over here, if I scroll
- 14:47down, we have this really cool border.
- 14:49And we can display our categories here
- 14:50in a really nice format. And the last
- 14:52thing I want to do is just add in one
- 14:54quick section. So, this is going to be
- 14:55another upsell. We're going to scroll
- 14:57down here and just insert. We're going
- 14:59to insert this image with text. And then
- 15:01I can just go ahead and adjust this.
- 15:02Right. So here I want to sort of
- 15:04showcase my other products. So I'll just
- 15:06click on this basketball one. Click on
- 15:08done. And then here we can talk about
- 15:10our signature products. Now scrolling
- 15:12down at the end here, we have products.
- 15:14And these are just placeholders for now.
- 15:15So once we add in products, they will
- 15:17automatically propagate right here. And
- 15:19at the bottom right here, we have our
- 15:21footer. And we'll come back to the
- 15:22footer a little bit later. Once we
- 15:24create privacy policies and tooss, we
- 15:26will add them here to the footer of our
- 15:28websites. So overall, we have a really
- 15:30nice clean landing page that we made in
- 15:32just a few minutes. Let's go ahead and
- 15:34save it. Here at the top, I'll click on
- 15:36save. Now, you'll also notice if we
- 15:38click on mobile, we can actually preview
- 15:40our website in a mobile device. So,
- 15:42let's go ahead and scroll down. And as
- 15:44you can see, it looks really clean on
- 15:46mobile device. Now, we can actually
- 15:48adjust some elements for mobile devices,
- 15:50such as this button. If I click on this
- 15:52button for bubble width, I want to
- 15:54change this to full width. You know, I
- 15:56like this better just because it's
- 15:58easier to click on. Right. Scrolling
- 16:00down, we have our products here. And
- 16:01then we have our footer at the bottom.
- 16:03Next, let's talk about how to create
- 16:04collections and also products. So, I'll
- 16:06click on exit. On the left side, I'll
- 16:08click on products. And before we create
- 16:10products, let's create collections. Now,
- 16:12collections are essentially categories
- 16:14for your products. So, here at the top
- 16:16right, I'll click on add collection. And
- 16:18this will be sports products. Next, I'll
- 16:20click on add image and add an image for
- 16:22this product category. I'll select this
- 16:23baseball glove and click on done. At the
- 16:26top, I'll click on save. Let's click
- 16:28back on collections. Now, this is where
- 16:30the AI is actually useful. We can
- 16:32actually ask the AI assistance to create
- 16:33collections for us. So, let's do that.
- 16:36Create me one collection for sportsware
- 16:37and use this image. And then I'll go
- 16:39ahead and upload this image. I'll select
- 16:41this one here and click on done. Then
- 16:43I'll run this prompt. You will then see
- 16:44it created the collection and it
- 16:46actually did it much better than us. It
- 16:47added description, SEO title, SEO
- 16:49description here. I'll click on preview
- 16:52and then I'll just click on save. And if
- 16:54I click on collections here, you're now
- 16:55going to see sportsware. So, I do
- 16:57believe the AI system is actually really
- 16:59good at creating categories and
- 17:01sometimes products. I'll go ahead and
- 17:02create one more using the AI. Awesome.
- 17:04Look at that. And now created our
- 17:06categories for us. Let's go over here,
- 17:08click on products, and click on add
- 17:10product. Now, we're going to create a
- 17:12product. So, for the title, go ahead and
- 17:14put the name of your product. I'm going
- 17:15to put baseball glove. Below that, we
- 17:17can add in some AI description. So here,
- 17:19I'll go ahead and click on generate text
- 17:20and then I'll put normal baseball glove.
- 17:24For the tone, I'll put playful and click
- 17:27on generate. Here, I'll get rid of this.
- 17:29You can also choose to add in video and
- 17:31images in your product description.
- 17:34Below that, we have media. Now, this is
- 17:36the featured image that represents your
- 17:37product. Then, I'll select my baseball
- 17:39glove.
- 17:40Below that, we're going to insert the
- 17:42price. So, this is going to be $30. And
- 17:44here we have compare at. You can
- 17:46actually put a compare app price. So,
- 17:48this is basically a sale price. So,
- 17:50normally it shows $40, but it's going to
- 17:52be on sale for 30 bucks. Scrolling down
- 17:54here, we can choose to add the quantity
- 17:56of the actual product. So, I'll just put
- 17:58that we have 20 in stock. If you don't
- 18:00want to show the quantity of the
- 18:01product, you can check this box and that
- 18:03will actually hide how many products you
- 18:05have in stock. Below that, we have
- 18:07shipping. Now, here I'll go ahead and
- 18:09click on the packaging and click on add
- 18:11a new package. So, you can choose a
- 18:14package type. You can also put the
- 18:16length. So, I'm going to put box, I'll
- 18:18put 16 by 12 by 12. And we're going to
- 18:21select inches. And for the weight, it's
- 18:24going to be about 1.5
- 18:26lb.
- 18:27And for the package name, this will be
- 18:29apparel. So, you can create presets for
- 18:32your package type, such as box,
- 18:34envelope, and soft package. So, here
- 18:36I'll click on add package. Now, if this
- 18:38is a digital product, you can actually
- 18:40turn this off, and that'll actually take
- 18:42away the shipping option. But if this is
- 18:44a physical product, you might want to
- 18:45leave that on. Here we have variance.
- 18:47And we'll come back to this a little bit
- 18:49later when we create a second product.
- 18:51Now, when we upload an image, what's
- 18:52really cool is that the category meta
- 18:54fields are automatically filled out with
- 18:56AI. So, here we have color, handware,
- 18:58material, age group. Here we can put in
- 19:00like teen or something, right? Teens.
- 19:02Here, I'll select teens. And uh yeah,
- 19:05you can add in like more meta fields for
- 19:07your products. Below that, we have the
- 19:09SEO. So this is the SEO description for
- 19:12the baseball glove. If you want to
- 19:14update the SEO description, you'll click
- 19:15on edit and then you can edit the SEO
- 19:17description for each individual product.
- 19:20Next, let's go ahead and scroll up. So
- 19:22here we have product organization. Now
- 19:24type is essentially another way on how
- 19:26you can categorize your products. A
- 19:27vendor is where the actual product comes
- 19:30from. Collections, we're going to go
- 19:32ahead and select the sports apparel and
- 19:35maybe even sports products. So we
- 19:37created these earlier. So, every time
- 19:38you make a product with Shopify, you can
- 19:40now add them to your collections. And
- 19:42below that, we have tags. So, I'm going
- 19:44to put brown,
- 19:46glove,
- 19:48and baseball.
- 19:50Tags are essentially easier ways for
- 19:51users to search and navigate through
- 19:53your store. So, if they type in
- 19:55something like glove, then this product
- 19:56will be displayed. So, after we select
- 19:59all those options, let's go ahead now
- 20:00and publish the product. So, here at the
- 20:02top, I'll click on save. Now, let's take
- 20:04a look at our product. Here, I'll click
- 20:06on preview. And here we go. So now we
- 20:08have a really nice dedicated product
- 20:09page for our products. Now there are
- 20:11some tips I want to give you. For
- 20:13example, over here we can actually
- 20:15insert media. So here I'll click on
- 20:17insert media and you can add in banners
- 20:20like 40% off or something or you can
- 20:22sort of you know entice the buyer to buy
- 20:24something. I'll also go ahead and put in
- 20:26some bullets. So here I'll put bullet
- 20:28and then I'll just add in a few bullets.
- 20:30Next I'll click on preview. And now you
- 20:32can see it's a lot more encouraging,
- 20:34right? We have this big 40% off. We have
- 20:36all these upsells and I believe adding
- 20:38in a little bit more description can
- 20:39really increase conversions for your
- 20:41Shopify store. Next, let's create
- 20:43another product with AI here. I'll click
- 20:44on products and we're going to click on
- 20:47add product here at the top right. Next,
- 20:49I'll open up the AI assistant and I'll
- 20:51just ask it to create a product for us.
- 20:53Here, I uploaded the image and I typed
- 20:55in create a product that's called sports
- 20:57jacket. Now, I do believe that this
- 20:59actually does speed up the process. They
- 21:01do actually create some pretty
- 21:02descriptive titles and description for
- 21:04products once you upload the image and
- 21:06just give it some description. So, let's
- 21:08see what it makes here. Here we go.
- 21:09Sports jacket description. Everything's
- 21:11good. I'll go ahead and click on
- 21:13preview. Everything has been
- 21:14automatically propagated for us. Alls I
- 21:16got to do is adjust the price. So, here
- 21:18I'll just adjust the price. And then we
- 21:20have to add in quantity. So, here I'll
- 21:22put in that we have 10. And then I'll
- 21:24click on save. Next, let's click on
- 21:26preview. And here we go. Now, we have
- 21:28that sports jacket. So, the AI is pretty
- 21:30useful when creating products with
- 21:32Shopify. And lastly, let's create a
- 21:34variable product. Now, if you have a
- 21:35product with multiple variables such as
- 21:37size and color, let me walk you through
- 21:39how to create one. So, here I'll click
- 21:40on add product, and then we'll create a
- 21:43variable product. So, I'll go ahead and
- 21:45fill this information out. So, I added
- 21:47in some description for our shoes. Now,
- 21:48let's go ahead and add a price. So, the
- 21:50price is $50, and I'll put that we have
- 21:5420 available.
- 21:56Scrolling down, we're going to add in
- 21:58some variants. So, I'll click on add
- 22:00options and I'll select color. So, here
- 22:03we have white. I'll click on the color
- 22:05and we're also going to select brown.
- 22:10Okay. Then I'll click on done. Next, we
- 22:13have add another option. And I'm going
- 22:16to select shoe size.
- 22:18And what we're going to do is I'm gonna
- 22:20put something like nine, 10,
- 22:25and 10.5.
- 22:28Then I'll click on done.
- 22:30Next, I'll scroll down. And now we need
- 22:32to add the prices for the variants. So
- 22:34here we have white. So what do the white
- 22:37shoes cost? Well, they probably all cost
- 22:38the same, right? But we first need to
- 22:40add the image for the white shoes. So
- 22:42here I'll add in the white shoes. And
- 22:44then we'll also adjust the inventory.
- 22:45So, I'll put that we have 10 of these
- 22:47sizes and 10 of these. And we can adjust
- 22:50the price for each variants, but I'll
- 22:52just go ahead and collapse this. Then
- 22:54I'll also do the same thing for brown.
- 22:56And of course, we can adjust the price
- 22:58for each of these, but I'll just put
- 22:59that we have 20. And then over here, we
- 23:01have 20. And then over here, we also
- 23:04have 20. And this one can cost like $100
- 23:07or something, right? Just just to mix it
- 23:08up. So, if you have products with
- 23:10multiple variables, like t-shirts with
- 23:11different sizes and colors, this is how
- 23:13you can create variable products. Now,
- 23:15once you add in those variants, we can
- 23:16scroll to the top here, and all we got
- 23:19to do is just make sure that we add this
- 23:20to our collections. So, I'll put sports
- 23:23apparel and sports wear. Then, I'll
- 23:25click on save. All right, cool. So, now
- 23:27let's take a look at our shoes. And here
- 23:29we go. We now have Wilson sports shoes
- 23:31where we have different colors,
- 23:32different sizes, and we have our
- 23:34description. Now, currently, right now,
- 23:36it's unavailable, but once we actually
- 23:37visit the website in a different
- 23:39browser, we can actually add these to
- 23:40the cart. The next thing we need to do
- 23:42is now add the collections to our
- 23:44homepage. So under the online store,
- 23:47let's click there and then we're going
- 23:48to edit the theme. So click on edit
- 23:50theme. So now that we created
- 23:52collections, now let's update the
- 23:53homepage. So we want to change this to
- 23:55our collections that we created. So I'll
- 23:57click on the uh the background and under
- 24:01collections, we will then select our
- 24:03collections.
- 24:07You can also adjust the type. So you can
- 24:09change this to grid, bento, or
- 24:10editorial. And you can adjust the
- 24:12columns and also the gap on your
- 24:14collections. But I do like this look. So
- 24:16I'm going to go ahead now and save it.
- 24:18Next, let me show you all how to
- 24:19customize the product page and also the
- 24:21collections page. Here under products,
- 24:24I'll click on products and let's click
- 24:26on default product. Now, this is the
- 24:28default template for all of your
- 24:29products and we can actually update this
- 24:31and design it. Now, under the template
- 24:33section under this arrow, this will show
- 24:35you a list of all the elements on your
- 24:37specific product. But what I can do is
- 24:40let's say, for example, you want to add
- 24:41reviews. I'll click on the plus
- 24:43elements. And if we scroll down or here,
- 24:45I will collapse these. And we're going
- 24:47to find product, right? So, we're going
- 24:50to go ahead and find product. Here we
- 24:51go. So, we have product card, product
- 24:54inventory, review stars, skew, and
- 24:56swatches, and all these things you can
- 24:58add. I'm going to add the review stars.
- 25:01Okay. Okay. And the review stars were
- 25:02added. Now, you can't see it, and that's
- 25:04only because there are no reviews for
- 25:05this product. Now, let's say, for
- 25:07example, you just wanted to add a
- 25:08regular element. So, what I'll do is
- 25:10I'll go ahead and click on the plus, and
- 25:13I'll just add in our logo. And I'm going
- 25:15to take this logo and I'm going to put
- 25:16it above the product title. So, that way
- 25:18they can sort of see our logo when
- 25:20they're shopping on our website. And we
- 25:21can make this a little bit smaller. And
- 25:23I think that looks good. Now, they can
- 25:24always see our brand when they're
- 25:25shopping on our store. So you can go
- 25:27ahead and fully customize the product
- 25:29template right here in the product
- 25:31editor. But let's go ahead and click on
- 25:33save. And next, let's talk about how to
- 25:35design your collection page. So up here,
- 25:37I'll go ahead and select collections.
- 25:40And then also click on default
- 25:41collections. Now, this is the default
- 25:44product category page for the categories
- 25:46on your store. They're also referred to
- 25:48as collections. I mean collections,
- 25:49categories, same thing. Now, you can
- 25:51fully design this page as well, and you
- 25:53can also add to it. For example, I'll
- 25:55click on add section to templates. And
- 25:58then I'll just put in the marquee. So
- 25:59I'll click on marquee. There we go. And
- 26:01then I'll click on save. So you can
- 26:04fully customize the product category
- 26:06pages. And this will reflect all the
- 26:08category pages on your website. Next,
- 26:10let me show you how to customize your
- 26:12drawers. Now, I know that sounds weird,
- 26:13but if I hover over the carts and we
- 26:16click on it, you will now see that we
- 26:18have this section. And we can actually
- 26:19customize the color of the background
- 26:22and also the text and also the button.
- 26:25Now, you can't do this through the
- 26:26editor. You have to do it through the
- 26:27theme settings. So, under the theme
- 26:29settings, we have to scroll over to
- 26:31drawers.
- 26:33And here we can apply a color scheme.
- 26:35Now, I do recommend to create a new
- 26:37independent color scheme for this
- 26:39specific section. I'll click on color
- 26:41scheme 8. And I'll scroll down and click
- 26:43on edit. Now the background here is
- 26:46controlling the actual backgrounds of
- 26:48the actual uh section. I'll go ahead and
- 26:51click back. Now the text that's
- 26:53referring to this text here and then
- 26:55also the primary button is referring to
- 26:58this primary button. So that's how you
- 26:59can customize the side cart on your
- 27:01Shopify store. Next, let's talk about
- 27:04the general settings. So let's exit out
- 27:06of here. I'll click on exit and let's
- 27:08now scroll to the bottom and click on
- 27:10settings. So here are the general
- 27:12settings. Now, the first thing that you
- 27:13should always do in the general tab is
- 27:14to fill out your business information.
- 27:16You want to make sure that you put your
- 27:17address, your city, your state, and also
- 27:19your zip code for your business details.
- 27:22If we scroll down, you also want to put
- 27:24the unit system and the default weight
- 27:26units. You can also insert your time
- 27:28zone, and then also there's a few order
- 27:30processing options. The next is the
- 27:33billing. Here you'll see an upcoming
- 27:35bill for your Shopify store. Below that,
- 27:38we have users. If you want to assign
- 27:40specific users to do work on your store,
- 27:42like add products or build your
- 27:44websites, you can actually add new users
- 27:45right here. Now, there are other options
- 27:47you can check out, but let's talk about
- 27:49the more important ones. So, at the
- 27:51bottom, we have policies. Let's click on
- 27:53policies. And here we're going to write
- 27:55our policies. So, here we have a refund
- 27:57and return policy. We can go ahead and
- 27:59click on this policy. And Shopify will
- 28:02insert a template for us. You also want
- 28:04to make sure that you update this with
- 28:05your address. So, go ahead and just take
- 28:08a look at this. Make sure that this is
- 28:09up to date with your refund and return
- 28:11policy. Once you update this, you'll
- 28:14then click on publish. Next, we'll
- 28:16select our terms of service and click on
- 28:18insert template. Now, for this template,
- 28:20you just want to again browse it and
- 28:22fill out your information. So, you want
- 28:23to put your business name, your business
- 28:25address, and also your phone number. So,
- 28:27make sure that you do review this and
- 28:29update it for your business. And once
- 28:31you're done, you'll click on publish.
- 28:33And the same thing for shipping policy.
- 28:35And this one you have to manually type
- 28:36in. All orders shipped after 1 to two
- 28:38days. Expect to receive products in 7
- 28:40days unless there is an issue with the
- 28:42post office. Here you'll click on
- 28:44publish. And lastly, we'll fill out our
- 28:46contact information. And then you want
- 28:48to make sure that you update this
- 28:49contact info. Once you're done, you'll
- 28:51click on publish. Next, if you want to
- 28:53offer returns here, you'll click on
- 28:56manage. And you can select the window of
- 28:58when you allow returns. So I'll put 14
- 29:00days. Is there a restocking fee? I'll
- 29:03put there is a uh 10% restocking fee.
- 29:07Scrolling down. And we also have final
- 29:09sale items. So if you're selling
- 29:10something like food, you might want to
- 29:12have those as like final sale, right?
- 29:14They can't just take a bite out of an
- 29:15apple and return it, right? Uh you can
- 29:17also select specific products.
- 29:20So if you do not want uh some products
- 29:23to be returned, you can say these
- 29:25products cannot be returned. Once you're
- 29:27done, you'll click on save. Next, let's
- 29:29click on tax and duties. Now, Shopify
- 29:31automatically integrates their shopping
- 29:33tax services to automatically calculate
- 29:35the tax for you. Now, scrolling down,
- 29:37there might be some options that you may
- 29:39need to select. For example, charge
- 29:41sales tax on shipping. Some states in
- 29:43America actually charge sales tax on
- 29:46shipping. If you go over to Tax Jar,
- 29:48I'll leave this article in the video
- 29:50description. They do actually have some
- 29:52states. So, states where shipping is
- 29:54taxable. And here is a list of states.
- 29:57So, in California, it is not subject.
- 29:59So, I'm not going to select it. But if
- 30:01you are from one of these states, then
- 30:02you would select that box. If you want
- 30:05to override the tax settings, you'll
- 30:06click on one of the locations where
- 30:08you're from, and you'll click on collect
- 30:10a new states, and then you'll go ahead
- 30:12and select the states, and then you can
- 30:14enter in your sales tax ID, and then
- 30:16you'll add in the shipping overrides.
- 30:18So, here you'll go ahead and enter in
- 30:19the new tax rate for your states. So,
- 30:22that's how you can override the tax just
- 30:23in case you're subject to special tax
- 30:25rates. The next thing we'll do is go
- 30:27over here and click on locations. Now,
- 30:30you want to make sure that you fill out
- 30:31your location. This is important when
- 30:33you calculate shipping and also taxes.
- 30:36So, just make sure that you enter in
- 30:37your shop name and then also your
- 30:39address. Once you fill out that
- 30:41information, we can then move on to
- 30:42shipping. So, on the left side, I'll
- 30:44click on shipping and delivery. Now, the
- 30:46first thing I recommend to do is to
- 30:47delete the international. If you are
- 30:49going to ship to every single country in
- 30:51the world, well, you would leave that
- 30:53checked. But for most people, you're not
- 30:55going to be shipping to every country in
- 30:56the world. So, under the three dots,
- 30:59I'll click on delete. And then I'll
- 31:01click on general shipping rates. So,
- 31:03first, let's add a shipping rate. Now,
- 31:05you might actually see international
- 31:07rates. And I do recommend to delete
- 31:08those. Once you delete that, you'll need
- 31:10to actually add a rate for your shipping
- 31:12location. So, right here, I'll click on
- 31:14add rates. And we're going to put zone
- 31:16name. We'll put USA. And we're going to
- 31:19type in United States. So, here's United
- 31:21States. Now, obviously, you're going to
- 31:23select the shipping zone that applies to
- 31:24you. And I'm going to select a flat
- 31:27rate. And then I'm going to put $10 and
- 31:30click on done. All right, cool. So, now
- 31:32we have a $10 shipping rate for products
- 31:34on our store. So, at the top, I'll click
- 31:36on save. Now, this is like a fallback,
- 31:38right? This isn't really practical. I
- 31:40think many of you watching this realize
- 31:41you can't really charge shipping for all
- 31:43the products the same way. So, instead,
- 31:45we can implement shipping costs per
- 31:47product. Let's do it. Here under the
- 31:49product section, we'll click on shipping
- 31:51settings and then I'll click on create a
- 31:53custom profile. Now this will be
- 31:56something like sports apparel and then
- 31:59for the add products we can now add any
- 32:01product we want. Now in my specific case
- 32:03I just you know put like a category but
- 32:05you can put fragile products, you can
- 32:07put heavy products, you can basically
- 32:09create categories for shipping.
- 32:13And we're going to add a shipping zone.
- 32:15That means where can this product be
- 32:16shipped? And we're also just going to
- 32:18select United States here. We'll click
- 32:20on done. And then we'll add a rate. Now,
- 32:23we can use a flat rate, but we can also
- 32:25use a carrier or apps. Now, since we're
- 32:28using Shopify, you get discounted rates
- 32:30from Shopify. So, if you use FedEx, you
- 32:32can go ahead and select whatever applies
- 32:34to you if you are using FedEx. Um, you
- 32:37can go ahead and just select done. And
- 32:39then your customers and your customers
- 32:41will be charged whatever FedEx is
- 32:42charging at that time. You can also do
- 32:45it yourself by just saying, you know
- 32:46what, I know what it costs to ship my
- 32:48products. So, for example, the heavy
- 32:50products or the So, for example, the
- 32:53sports apparel products, they're going
- 32:54to be charged $5 for shipping. Okay, so
- 32:57to sum it up, the sports jacket will be
- 32:59charged a rate of $5 and any product
- 33:01that we add in this category will be
- 33:03charged $5 for shipping. I do recommend
- 33:05to do this for all of your products.
- 33:06That way, it's a lot more accurate on
- 33:08the shipping cost for every individual
- 33:10product. So, here at the top, I'll click
- 33:12on save. Now, before we jump into
- 33:14payments, there is a quick reminder.
- 33:16Since we added all of the policies on
- 33:18our website, I do recommend that you add
- 33:20it to the footer of your websites. So,
- 33:22over here, I'll just go ahead and click
- 33:23on the plus and find the policies. So,
- 33:27here, policy links. And there we go.
- 33:29Now, we have the terms and policies on
- 33:31our website. So, they can view all the
- 33:33policies for our Shopify store. Now, the
- 33:35last option is to integrate payment
- 33:37methods. So, here we have payments. So,
- 33:39I'll click on activate Shopify payments
- 33:41and click on next. Next, you'll fill out
- 33:44this information if you're an
- 33:45individual, a business, or a nonprofit.
- 33:47So, once you select your option, you'll
- 33:49click on next. Here, you'll put in your
- 33:51first name, your last name, your birth
- 33:52date, and then your information. And
- 33:55then, if you are a US resident, you will
- 33:57enter in your social security number.
- 33:59This is required for tax filing and
- 34:01verification. So, I'll go ahead and fill
- 34:03all this out. Next, you'll enter in your
- 34:05bank statement. So, this is the store
- 34:06name and the phone number you'll need to
- 34:08enter here. This is required if users
- 34:10have a problem with their order. So,
- 34:12you'll want to put your store name and
- 34:13your phone number. Then, you'll click on
- 34:14next. And lastly, you'll just submit
- 34:16this for verification. So, at the
- 34:18bottom, you'll click on submit for
- 34:20verification. Now, I do also recommend
- 34:22to activate PayPal as well. So, here we
- 34:25can actually integrate PayPal. Next,
- 34:28I'll click on activate. And then lastly,
- 34:30I'll just enter in my information. All
- 34:32right, cool. Then I'll click on return
- 34:34to Shopify. Okay, so now that we
- 34:36verified our information, we now need to
- 34:38select a plan to start accepting
- 34:40payments. So here I'll click on select a
- 34:42plan. And here we have four different
- 34:44plans. Now, if you're just getting
- 34:45started out with Shopify, I think the
- 34:47basic plan works best for you. Again,
- 34:49it's only going to cost you a dollar for
- 34:51the first three months. So under the
- 34:53basic plan, you'll click on select
- 34:55basic. Then you'll fill out your credit
- 34:57card information. You'll see on the
- 34:58right side, you're only going to pay $1
- 35:00today. So, go ahead and fill this
- 35:02information out. Once you fill it out,
- 35:03you'll then click on subscribe. After
- 35:05you subscribe to Shopify, it'll then
- 35:07bring you back to your dashboard. Now,
- 35:09we need to unlock our store. So, here
- 35:11you'll see this unlock store button
- 35:13under the dashboard. You'll click on
- 35:14unlock store. And then, here we have a
- 35:17password for our store. Now, we want to
- 35:19take off the password protection. So,
- 35:21that means anyone can visit our store.
- 35:23And here we want to put a page title and
- 35:25SEO description for our store. This is
- 35:27essentially going to appear in the
- 35:29Google search result. So make sure that
- 35:30this is very accurate.
- 35:34Below that we'll input below that we'll
- 35:36put our below that we'll put our
- 35:38homepage title SEO and the metad
- 35:40description for our Shopify store. Now
- 35:42if you need help with SEO description, I
- 35:44definitely recommend to go to chat GPT.
- 35:46For example, here I put create me an SEO
- 35:48title and metad description for my
- 35:50Shopify store. I sell sports products
- 35:52for all ages in USA. And if I run this
- 35:55prompt, it'll actually give me a title
- 35:57and metad description for my website. So
- 36:00I can use uh this title right here and
- 36:03then I can use this as my metad
- 36:04description. So AI is really good at
- 36:06creating metadescription for your
- 36:08Shopify store. And all you got to do is
- 36:10just go ahead and copy this and paste it
- 36:11onto your store. And after we fill that
- 36:13information out, we'll then just click
- 36:15on save. And congratulations. Now your
- 36:18store is available for everybody. So
- 36:20I'll click on view store. And here is
- 36:21our Shopify store. And as you can tell,
- 36:23it looks clean, modern, and
- 36:25professional. And we can go ahead and
- 36:27run a test transaction. So here we have
- 36:29our items in the carts. We can pay with
- 36:31Google Pay, PayPal, or pay with credit
- 36:33card. Here, click on checkout. And then
- 36:36users can enter in their contact detail,
- 36:38their address, and they can pay with
- 36:39credit card, PayPal, and Google Pay.
- 36:41Now, another option I recommend to
- 36:43adjust after you purchase your plan is
- 36:45to go to the brand options in the
- 36:46general settings. So, under general,
- 36:49you'll scroll down and then you'll see
- 36:51under store assets brand. So, I'll click
- 36:53on brands. Now, whenever someone buys
- 36:55something from your website, they're
- 36:57going to see branded emails from
- 36:59Shopify. And I do recommend to design
- 37:00these a little bit. For example, we can
- 37:03add in our logo. There we go. And then
- 37:06also, we should add in our primary
- 37:07color, which is like this kind of red.
- 37:09And our secondary color is this gray. I
- 37:12think that there we go. More gray. There
- 37:14it is. Okay. And then also we should add
- 37:16a cover image. And then you can add a
- 37:18slogan and a short description. And then
- 37:20also add in your social links. So at the
- 37:23top I'll click on save. And let me give
- 37:25you an example of what this looks like.
- 37:27So they'll receive branded emails from
- 37:28Shopify and they'll display your store
- 37:30in a really nice clean professional
- 37:32format. And the last step is to now add
- 37:34a custom domain. Now if you go to your
- 37:36Shopify store, you're going to notice
- 37:38that you have a really ugly domain that
- 37:40just doesn't look professional. And
- 37:41let's be real, no one's going to be able
- 37:43to find your store with this kind of
- 37:45domain name, right? So, let's go to
- 37:47Shopify. And under the general settings,
- 37:49you're going to see domains. So, let's
- 37:51click on domains. And then we'll click
- 37:53on buy new domain. Next, you'll enter in
- 37:56the domain that you want to buy right
- 37:57here. And you'll click on search. And if
- 38:00this domain is available, Shopify will
- 38:02let you know. So, this domain is
- 38:04currently available. So, I'll click on
- 38:05the buy button. And then, I'll buy this
- 38:07domain. So, I'll go ahead and fill this
- 38:09information out. Then I'll click on buy
- 38:11domain. All right. Awesome. So we just
- 38:13purchased our domain. So I'll click on
- 38:15see domain status. Now right now it's
- 38:17propagating and this process might take
- 38:19anywhere between 1 to 24 hours. Once
- 38:21Shopify is done propagating this domain,
- 38:23it'll automatically be reflected on your
- 38:25domain for your Shopify store. And after
- 38:27waiting about 20 minutes, you'll now see
- 38:29that the domain is now connected. So if
- 38:31I go to this domain, you will now see
- 38:33it's my new Shopify store. So
- 38:35congratulations party people. If you
- 38:37have any questions about anything
- 38:38related to Shopify, let me know in the
- 38:39video description.
