4. 0:06weeks after she vanished. The victim now
5. 0:08set to speak to investigators as they
6. 0:11search for suspects. NBC's Gotti Schwarz
7. 0:14is in Reading, California. Gotti, good
8. 0:15morning to you.
9. 0:16Good morning, Matt. Detectives spent
10. 0:18several hours yesterday speaking with
11. 0:20Sher Pini with more interviews to
12. 0:22follow. Uh the sheriff says they are
13. 0:24getting a better picture of her time
14. 0:26spent in captivity and he is convinced
15. 0:28more than ever that she was kidnapped.
16. 0:31So it's important we determine why they
17. 0:34chose Mrs. Pini
18. 0:36in Reading, California. The hunt for two
19. 0:39kidnappers is priority number one.
20. 0:41And we don't know what their motive was
21. 0:44to abduct her. So it is uh it's rather
22. 0:48scary. For Sher Pini, it has been five
23. 0:51days of recovering and reuniting with
24. 0:53family. Now, she's expected to begin the
25. 0:55long process of telling detectives
26. 0:57everything she remembers about her
27. 0:59abductors. So far, they have only been
28. 1:01described by investigators as Hispanic
29. 1:04women with a gun. Detectives have been
30. 1:06working nonstop following up on hundreds
31. 1:09of tips. It's been a uh full court press
32. 1:13from day one. Uh including a ground
33. 1:15search, looking at phone records,
34. 1:17looking at her phone that was recovered
35. 1:20uh the first day of the u reported as a
36. 1:23missing person's event.
37. 1:24The mother of two was chained, beaten,
38. 1:26and left on the side of a California
39. 1:28highway 150 m from her home after going
40. 1:32missing for more than 3 weeks.
41. 1:34We learned that she was released by her
42. 1:36captor. She was bound with restraints
43. 1:39but was able to summon from a passing uh
44. 1:42help from a passing motorist.
45. 1:44Now that Pini is safe, relief for
46. 1:46hundreds who tried to help find her. The
47. 1:48mayor of Reading says Pini called her to
48. 1:50thank her for her support.
49. 1:52Keith was on the phone too and they both
50. 1:54were just very thankful and I'm sure
51. 1:57feeling relieved it was over. Now the
52. 2:00healing begins.
53. 2:02But the mayor is one of the few to have
54. 2:04personally spoken to Bini since her
55. 2:06return. We are overwhelmed with joy of
56. 2:08how supportive everyone has been to help
57. 2:11bring us together as a family again.
58. 2:14Her sister has asked for privacy for the
59. 2:16family, offering no details. While
60. 2:18authorities knocking down online rumors
61. 2:21and blogs, questioning what really
62. 2:22happened.
63. 2:23People are entitled to their opinion,
64. 2:26but they don't know the facts of the
65. 2:27case and what we know within our
66. 2:29investigation. So other than that, it's
67. 2:32just pure speculation and their opinion.
68. 2:36In the meantime, the sheriff is
69. 2:37encouraging people to be patient and be
70. 2:39vigilant. They are planning to interview
71. 2:41Sher Pipini again a little bit later
