0:05we've always had the DNA out there in

0:09um before we get too far obviously just

0:24want is truthful statements because it's
0:26a crime to lie to Federal officers
0:30yeah sorry about that part so
0:34um so there's always been DNA out there
0:37and we've we've done testing after
0:39testing we've gone out to like the
0:42parabon which is a private company who
0:45does all like cool the genetics and
0:47we've just hit wall after wall after
0:48wall but recently we found some a
0:53familiar DNA hit so what that does it
0:55just tells us it came from a certain
0:58person so like the mother or the father
1:01or a son or an uncle or however that is
1:03it just hits that like somewhere in this
1:05family tree is where the DNA comes from
1:08okay so with that we open up the
1:11investigation we go into who could it be
1:15within the family so once we started
1:19opening up those doors and looking
1:21through those the family members and
1:23just trying to see Facebook stocking
1:25them criminal histories just that normal
1:29investigation that we do once we start
1:31looking into things we started finding
1:33some interesting things okay
1:35um so one of the things that came out to
1:38us
1:38well if you is there anything in there
1:40that looks of Interest or notable
1:44interest or
1:47I mean that's an awkward photo
1:57the table though the picture's a little
1:59drained out so there's I mean
2:02to me I see a
2:04table there that somewhat looks like
2:06something you described to be in the
2:08past and I said wood paneling
2:10talking about the room
2:12yeah we noted both of those things back
2:14in August yeah 2017 and we spoke with
2:17you about and you showed us this picture
2:20of the table do you remember that Sherry
2:22yes and so when we were trolling through
2:25this you know Facebook page it was not
2:28just the edge of that table Yeah Denise
2:31card in fact oh cool he said hey Peter
2:33look at this look at this table I was
2:36like oh wait you're right yeah and it
2:38has the wood paneling so we're like well
2:40where was that photo taken right and so
2:42we're trying to figure that out
2:44so oh okay uh so that's led us obviously
2:48now bound to the obviously this Facebook
2:51page has a person that's got like people
2:53tagged into it so it has uh the theater
2:57as of but that's still like that's still
2:59a valid memory right but this was the
3:01table Yeah a table like this was the
3:04table you were on when you were branded
3:05and we've been talking about that a lot
3:07because so many memories are so creative
3:10now it's been a long time it's been a
3:12really long time so like
3:15details and things like that we did the
3:17best that we could to take notes on it
3:19and all of that but a lot of it's really
3:22hard it's hard to think about
3:27um
3:27yeah no I see both those from what she
3:31told me okay
3:33that was an interesting with that we
3:34started looking at different people and
3:36who might be involved and just trying to
3:38figure it out
3:39and I wanted to show you this picture
3:42and obviously
3:46um
3:46people can change their weight people
3:49can change the color of their hair don't
3:52just because the photo might be a little
3:55bit different as you know women like to
3:57change their hair and
3:59their makeup their their weight can
4:01change so that that might be a little
4:03bit different but we wanted to take a
4:04look at this sit back and see if you
4:05recognize anybody see these six photos
4:08you don't feel like you have to provide
4:10an answer there's no right or wrong
4:12answer just let us know if you see
4:13anybody in this photo that you do
4:15recognize and if you do we'll talk about
4:16how okay

8:25she's similar to the younger female that
8:27we've always described in everything
8:30this part right here doesn't really
8:32match what I'm remembering but the
8:35hairline doesn't match another one older
8:37one and just because it's been a long
8:39time
8:41can you remind me what number what what
8:43the younger one did like the main parts
8:46of it compared to the older one just for
8:47the last like Clarity of stuff so for
8:51the record so the younger ones the one
8:53that let me go it was the nicer of the
8:56two okay the older one was really
8:59abusive and really mean and is the one
9:02that did all the really terrible things

11:10those pictures which then snowballed us
11:13down the road that would eventually
11:16happen where we are so were you able to
11:19find like where that house is yes
11:32and may I ask how did we even get to
11:34that point how did we get that
11:36familiar DNA so they said they came back
11:39and said oh here's some people related
11:41in this family there's about 40 people
11:43total that's a good thing I guess but 40
11:45is better than you just started going
11:47through whatever the numbers yeah we
11:50started looking at everything that we
11:51could phones online presence criminal
11:54history Facebook photos DMV photos
11:58like you said Denise obviously you guys
12:01are aware Denise is in a different
12:03location now she's the one that found
12:05that picture so we cast a white net to
12:08start finding certain houses is she
12:10still working on the case even though
12:12she's in not officially but I always
12:13call her and say hey what do you think
12:15about this what do you think about that
12:16but yeah she's still working on it
12:23so if you look at this
12:34obviously you know there's there's stuff
12:36in there now
12:37I'm not looking at the stuff
12:42I literally was cleaning papers out
12:45yesterday and found that you didn't
12:49I haven't even looked at the picture yet
12:51but I've seen it out

23:12really quick though I remember when you
23:15were talking about
23:16being changed into a closet
23:19and trying to figure out a way to get
23:21loose
23:22he talked about working on a screw right
23:26and what happened to that screw when you
23:28were done with it I dug a hole in the
23:30wall and poked it into the wall okay
23:33because this is
23:35an interesting photo as well
23:40is this in the closet that's in the
23:43closet no it was it was drywall it was
23:47into the driveway it wasn't too drywall
23:48but by the electric plug yeah okay
23:54maybe not that one yeah
23:57Okay so
24:01we're showing you all of this
24:05because ultimately this is the house
24:09thank you for that
24:11we talked to the people who live there
24:15sorry
24:18we've we found the house we found who
24:21was involved and we've talked to who is
24:23involved we talked to family who who
24:27knows that you were there and talked to
24:31a couple people that or talked to one
24:33guy who did see you
24:36during this event
24:38uh
24:39fortunately
24:41there's a lot of truth there's a lot of
24:43things that were that were said that we
24:46have always conferred that we've always
24:48said
24:49there's there's a lot of Truth and then
24:51there's some unknowns like one of the
24:53simple ones like well this description
24:55of the bathroom is just weird like that
24:57was like an argument in all of our
24:59offices where we were sitting there like
25:00this this part's weird but then we find
25:04a house with it then the the all thread
25:07through the thing that's just and that's
25:09just weird it's Unique to this place
25:12like that's a pretty custom you can't
25:15just go out to Ikea and buy a closet
25:17that looks like this yeah exactly right
25:18so once once we have all those things
25:21and we start talking to the person who
25:23lives here who had lived there who still
25:26lives there started talking to his
25:28family and starting that whole
25:30investigation peeling one thing back
25:32after another after another doing the
25:33same thing we've done for the last four
25:36years
25:37it led us to a specific person
25:41but not a female
25:43that led us to the car that picked you
25:45up but not an SUV
25:48so there's lots of different aspects
25:50that are truths and falses
25:53and we're to the point now that nobody
25:57would have ever imagined that this would
26:00have blown up the way that it did so
26:03I've been a cop 15 years I've never seen
26:06the media scale that that this garnered
26:09pretty quickly
26:13law enforcement now 12 years in the
26:15bureau so like of the minds Brian who'd
26:19been around 20 plus years people have
26:20been in my office like 25 30 plus years
26:24the media attention that this got out
26:26was was insane
26:30um so I think with that being said some
26:33choices and some decisions
26:35ultimately ultimately changed the
26:38original path of of what happened
26:42um
26:42I don't think anybody would have
26:45wished the media frenzy that occurred
26:48like for this event no matter what the
26:50situation if it was a kid because the
26:53media has skewed so many facts it it
26:55brought so many people in from the
26:57woodwork that if we didn't have the
26:59woodwork we wouldn't have the noise and
27:00that brings a lot of pressure
27:02when you get that kind of scrutiny
27:05so we we'd like to talk to you more
27:07about those things and we can do it with
27:09Keith here or we're going to ask you to
27:11leave to whatever you're comfortable
27:14with so we can
27:15break down some of the problems if you
27:19want Keith here all we want is to to
27:22have the truth all we want is be able to
27:24tell the truth
27:26all of that's all we've ever wanted from
27:28day one
27:30we win we've talked with you for hours
27:32we've been there we've done all these
27:34different things waiting for something
27:36waiting for it to break waiting for us
27:38to get

27:41because the DNA came back like I said to
27:44a specific person
27:45that specific person told us very
27:48specific things
27:50his family then told us specific things
27:55so if we can talk with Keith or without

28:18to have a voice I want you to make
28:21decisions I wanted you to control
28:22certain aspects I think I told you that
28:25on the first interview we ever had I
28:27never want to bully you I never want you

28:31to take back control
28:33that's one of those things this is that
28:36take back control of the interview which
28:38I promise you to do the first time you
28:40talk if you remember that actually we
28:43were in Mount Shasta so the second time
28:44we talked
28:46um it's been a long road Journey but we
28:48just want to talk to you and we can have
28:50some kids step out that's gonna make you
28:51more comfortable

31:46I don't know what that piece is honestly
31:49all I know is facts all I know is
31:51certain specific items that will either
31:54tear the castle down or is going to
31:55build the castle up and I don't want to
31:58I don't want to build tear the castle
31:59down and not give you the ability to
32:03then fix your own castle even if it's
32:05just a small thing here or it's the
32:07whole castle I want you to be able to to
32:11choose that so we can step out of the
32:13room let you guys talk because I don't
32:16know what information I'm going to do if
32:18it's life-changing news or if it's oh
32:20yeah everything's fine I just don't know
32:23what it is usually right we show the
32:26pictures because everybody's invested in
32:28this picture

32:34been a part of your memory for small
32:35details and that's why he's been into
32:39this whole time and that's why he makes
32:41me feel safe so if he makes you feel

32:50pieces are so if I would say hey that's
32:52going to bring the whole world down I

40:35James brother

40:38so everything you've told us so many
40:42truths in this situation the reason why
