- 0:02hello friends i welcome you all from
- 0:05hltf tech channel
- 0:07and today i am going to tell you about
- 0:09the center administration of sharepoint
- 0:12uh what is what it interface look likes
- 0:15and what are the
- 0:17features of this
- 0:19okay first of all this is the central
- 0:21administration page
- 0:23here if i go
- 0:25to step by step
- 0:27in application management
- 0:29you can manage your web applications
- 0:32here you can create new web applications
- 0:35uh you are seeing that i am going to
- 0:38demonstrate just the interface
- 0:42it will ask you some information
- 0:44and
- 0:45it will create new web application
- 0:47uh web application is just a container
- 0:50it's an empty container so whenever you
- 0:52create a web web application
- 0:55it is mandatory that after creating web
- 0:57application you
- 0:59create some site collections
- 1:02so here you can create site collections
- 1:05here this is the interface of this
- 1:09after creating site collection you can
- 1:11select a template
- 1:13there are different
- 1:14types of template here
- 1:16these are some of them which are shown
- 1:19here you can also add some custom
- 1:21template here
- 1:23okay
- 1:24so uh this was about site collection uh
- 1:28you can also delete a site collection
- 1:30where you can see uh if you select some
- 1:33site collection for example i have this
- 1:35site collection
- 1:37created in my domain i can delete it
- 1:40if i want to
- 1:43similarly you can
- 1:45specify quotas here
- 1:48by defining the quota
- 1:50you can
- 1:51limit the storage to a maximum of some
- 1:53size
- 1:55this
- 1:56storage limit is applied at a site
- 1:58collection level
- 2:00when you create a new site collection
- 2:02similarly there are
- 2:04many other features you can see all site
- 2:06collections here
- 2:08and
- 2:10databases
- 2:11these are the databases right now i have
- 2:13only one database in which only one site
- 2:16exists
- 2:17you can create maximum 5000 site
- 2:20collections in a
- 2:22one database but it is recommended that
- 2:25you keep the size of because you know uh
- 2:28as you know that
- 2:31every site contains some content
- 2:33so if you uh create let's say 2000 sites
- 2:38at
- 2:39one database the database will grow very
- 2:42rapidly
- 2:43it is recommended that the database side
- 2:45must not exceed a maximum up to the
- 2:49limit of 200 gb so for keeping the
- 2:52databases up to uh the limit of 200 gb
- 2:55or less than that
- 2:57what you do you create new content
- 2:59databases okay so after creating new
- 3:02content databases you can create a
- 3:04number of sites in
- 3:06other dbs
- 3:07that is databases
- 3:10similarly
- 3:12if i go to manage service applications
- 3:16by default two applications are
- 3:18configured here uh you can also create
- 3:20new service application uh for example
- 3:23you can configure search service you can
- 3:25configure user user profile service i
- 3:28will tell you details in uh other video
- 3:31about these services
- 3:32uh similarly you can monitor the uh
- 3:35going ongoing jobs
- 3:38here you are seeing some jobs are by
- 3:40default uh set
- 3:42and they are scheduled by uh the
- 3:44sharepoint itself some jobs are
- 3:46configured by you so you can uh see all
- 3:50of these jobs you can also see uh
- 3:52segregate among
- 3:54different types
- 3:55so
- 3:57similarly security you can configure
- 4:00service accounts that are
- 4:02mandatory for
- 4:04managing the services here
- 4:06similarly
- 4:08this application related to exchange
- 4:10server you can also
- 4:12deploy send to connections by
- 4:14configuring your mailing server here
- 4:17you can also
- 4:19manage the services that are running
- 4:21here
- 4:22uh these are all of the services that
- 4:25are running here
- 4:26so first of all for beginners i think
- 4:29this is the backup and restore process
- 4:32and this is upgrading migration and apps
- 4:34catalog
- 4:35for beginners uh this part is important
- 4:38uh i recommend you to explore this part
- 4:41in which you can create web applications
- 4:43you can create site collections uh you
- 4:45manages these site collections you
- 4:47manage the content databases so this is
- 4:50about uh central administration initial
- 4:52demonstration uh in my later videos i am
- 4:55going to create uh multiple web
- 4:57applications site collections then i am
- 4:59going to configure these services so i
