  1. 0:00do you think that women who voted for
  2. 0:01Hillary woman who have strongly
  3. 0:03supported the feminist movement and
  4. 0:04supported the left are feeling
  5. 0:05disenfranchised given the current
  6. 0:07climate of sexual brutality and
  7. 0:09oppression brought to light in Hollywood
  8. 0:10recently so I think that people have a
  9. 0:12willingness to blind themselves to facts
  10. 0:14that they don't want to see and so what
  11. 0:15I've seen a lot is people saying well
  12. 0:17the problem of sexual harassment isn't
  13. 0:19unique to Hollywood and has nothing to
  14. 0:21do with our culture regarding sex a
  15. 0:22leftist culture regarding sex no it has
  16. 0:25to do generally with men right it has to
  17. 0:27do generally with American society it
  18. 0:29has to do generally with power
  19. 0:30relationships it's funny how everybody
  20. 0:33is willing to generalize as soon as
  21. 0:34they're ox is gored right as soon as as
  22. 0:36soon as the left sees weight our culture
  23. 0:38our feminist culture that we said that
  24. 0:40we were gonna promulgate was gonna
  25. 0:41protect women hasn't protected women you
  26. 0:43know nearly at all then all of a sudden
  27. 0:45it turns into well it's not us that's in
  28. 0:47it's men that's in right and and so I've
  29. 0:50been getting a lot of this online in the
  30. 0:51last couple of days it's it's you men
  31. 0:53who haven't stood up and I keep saying
  32. 0:55like what do you want me to do and I'll
  33. 0:56do it really what do you want me to do
  34. 0:58like if you show me a rapist like Harvey
  35. 1:00Weinstein allegedly is then I will say
  36. 1:02send him to jail or castrate him right
  37. 1:04like this is not difficult but if you
  38. 1:06just say to me
  39. 1:07you don't acknowledge the rape culture
  40. 1:09again I need you to define that and I
  41. 1:11need you to explain to me what I did I
  42. 1:12think really I knew anything and I think
  43. 1:17the vast majority of people in this room
  44. 1:18didn't do anything and if they did do
  45. 1:20something that maybe people should
  46. 1:21report it to the police because that
  47. 1:23seems to me the best way to root out
  48. 1:24evil is to actually have law enforcement
  49. 1:26get involved so the left is the question
  50. 1:30of what the left is doing about this do
  51. 1:32they feel disenfranchised no I think
  52. 1:34they're just gonna blame the same people
  53. 1:35they always blamed because we're all in
  54. 1:36our own little bubbles should they feel
  55. 1:38disenfranchised 100 percent because in a
  56. 1:41society that treats sex is transactional
  57. 1:43in a society that basically reduces sex
  58. 1:46to any sort just a physical transaction
  59. 1:49that is based solely on consent it makes
  60. 1:51it very difficult to explain why it is
  61. 1:53that the casting couch in Hollywood is
  62. 1:54bad per se right there's actually like a
  63. 1:56feminist theory says that it's bad
  64. 1:58because of power imbalances but the sort
  65. 2:00of libertarian culture of left suggests
  66. 2:02that power imbalance doesn't have
  67. 2:04anything to do with it if I feel like
  68. 2:05trading my body for a part in a movie
  69. 2:06well that's my business
  70. 2:07and if you say differently than your
  71. 2:09slut-shaming me right so that's it well
  72. 2:11you can't really have it both ways
  73. 2:13either it's
  74. 2:13it's not bad and if we are going to
  75. 2:16fight sexual harassment and sexual
  76. 2:17assault it seems to me that we have to
  77. 2:18do a couple of things one we have to
  78. 2:20reinvest sex with value beyond just a
  79. 2:23physical transaction it's not just two
  80. 2:25people who are getting each other's
  81. 2:26rocks off it actually means something
  82. 2:27beyond that there's a relationship
  83. 2:28that's attached to it and beyond that I
  84. 2:31think that we need to re-encode Kate in
  85. 2:33men themselves not just the teach men
  86. 2:36not to rape routine like again it's such
  87. 2:38a weird concept like when I was 11 my
  88. 2:39dad didn't sit me down and say son don't
  89. 2:42rape people like if you have to teach
  90. 2:46your child that my guess is that you got
  91. 2:47a bigger problem than that on your hands
  92. 2:51what my dad taught me was to be a
  93. 2:53gentleman and to treat women with
  94. 2:54respect and that has to do with being a
  95. 2:56gentleman and recognizing differences in
  96. 2:58sex roles because one of the things
  97. 2:59that's happened is the traditional
  98. 3:01masculinity the idea that it is a man's
  99. 3:02job to protect women this is one of our
  100. 3:04jobs as human beings as men to protect
  101. 3:06women the feminist movement doesn't like
  102. 3:07that well then you can't blame us for
  103. 3:09not protecting women if you don't want
  104. 3:11us to protect women like I want to
  105. 3:13protect women I think men should protect
  106. 3:15women I think one of the reasons God put
  107. 3:16man on earth is to protect women ok well
  108. 3:19then it is incumbent on me to protect
  109. 3:21women but if you're telling me that I
  110. 3:22can't even open a door for a woman
  111. 3:23because this is somehow an offense to
  112. 3:25her honor and then if I say that it's
  113. 3:27man's job to protect women that this is
  114. 3:29somehow reinforcing gender stereotypes
  115. 3:31then don't come whining to me when bad
  116. 3:32stuff happens because the answer to bad
  117. 3:34behavior is good behavior the answer to
  118. 3:36vice is virtue the answer device isn't
  119. 3:39just yelling and hashtagging crap
  120. 3:43[Applause]
